  • "Look, Ada, it was... yes, but... it's already online?! The internet is so unfair! I can't even give shocking plot twists about what happened to me during moments of dramatic tension! Kidding! Kidding. Look, I'm sure we can... yeah, I figured as much. Not the first, not the last. Just promise me you won't send anyone over? I've got this under control. ... Don't send Jenkins, either, for the record. With my luck, this thing will be over before the night is through.

"...okay, but my luck had nothing to do with the plane crashing. Talk to you soon, Ada."

With a thought, Robo severed the connection with Tesladyne headquarters over in Metropolis City. It didn't feel as cool no longer needing to use a cell phone (or hell, a walkie talkie) that earlier versions of his loadout relied on for communication (not to mention the fact that he was one of those Bluetooth doofuses now), but it did make getting in touch with people a whole lot easier, especially in cases like the one he was in now. While the diamagnetism was no longer exactly in effect, the entire city was still blacked out, and that included towers. It was only because of Robo recently getting outfitted to the Tesladyne satellite orbiting Mite-World that he was able to get through to Ada in the first place.

While he did this, Robo looked over to see what Superman was up to. Seeing someone like him, this larger-than-life character that only could have existed in those books he read as a little Robo, doing these things in the flesh... well, even for a technically emotionless automaton like him, it put something in him that he couldn't do justice with any words forming in his thoughts. He was a firm, reassuring reminder that this world was far from without heroes, and it didn't matter where they had come from. They believed in helping people, and even for those who didn't have powers like Superman, like the modestly skilled robot pondering these things, that principle was all that it took.

But the time for pensive idealism would have to wait. They needed to get to work. "I did. It may not be much, but there's been a lot of rumblings around the Iceberg Lounge. I've never been, on account of the lousy fish buffet and being a wretched hive of scum and villainy. It's the biggest haunt for bad guys in this city, though, so it's as good a place to start as any."

Robo slammed his right fist into his left open palm, making more of a cartoonish clank than any kind of satisfying clamp the gesture normally made when non-metal people did it. The bitter, angry tone in Robo's voice was unmistakable, for how crass and witty the champion of Tesladyne normally was. "That, and I'm hoping they make this difficult."

Arthur Morgan - Gotham City Blackout

3657560_0

Mite-World.

A world that was, in all instances of the word, turned upside down. What was up was down, and what was down was up. Nevermind these new "Tell-O-Visions" or these metal horseless carriages that had apparently gotten rid of the need for horses entirely. No, no Arthur didn't seem to care for that too much. After all, the future was expected to be this weird and fancy, right? And, although it took some getting used to, the former outlaw quickly grew accustomed to all these new inventions and what-not. No, what really got Arthur going was the people, of all things. The one thing that he hadn't expect to change, at least not this drastically, was the human race. But apparently, there were men and mutant baby men that dressed as bats, and, from what he had seen tonight, flying men as well as metal men. All of which, if Arthur didn't know any better, he would think was just some tall-tale in one of Jack Marston's many stories.

Yet, here he was in Mite World. As soon as the power grid had gone out, Arthur immediately began looking for the source of the outage. He didn't really understand all that much about electricity or really artificial lighting in general, but it didn't take a genius in a lab to know that they didn't just shut off like that. It didn't take long at all to find the culprit of the mass black-out, however, because only a few blocks down he had found some man in his underwear fighting some.. Zebra man? All while another metal man was also joined into the fray. He seemed to be fighting the Zebra man as well. Now, Arthur was certainly no pushover, but for whatever reason, he decided to let the fight play out. As he stood in the shadows and observed, he learned that the Zebra man was the cause of the mass outage... but, not only that, but he was working with someone as well. And, if Arthur knew anything about teamups, it's that they never ended well for whoever had less men.

The Zebra man was quickly disposed of, thankfully, and soon the man clad in his underwear escorted the metal man up to some rooftop. Not after cleaning up the rubble and saying goodbye to the children, of course. Such acts made Arthur, while weary of the man's apparent strength, admire his tenacity and courage to fight such a battle in the first place. It was clear to Arthur that whoever the strange, tight wearing super man was, he did this out of the kindness of his heart. Not for greed or monetary gain like Dutch or Micah or those damn Pinkertons... but because he was just a good person.

That was something that Arthur only wished he could be.

But that wouldn't stop the outlaw from helping out, right? After all, these poor folk here seemed to be in dire need of some help after that blackout, and even though that magic flying fella seemed pretty strong, Arthur was sure it wouldn't hurt to help out somehow. Hell, after seeing that selfless display back there, Arthur would feel partially guilty if he didn't help out. So, using various ladders, trashcans, and other parkour moves that a man his age shouldn't even fathom being able to do, Arthur Morgan reached the top of the rooftop. His gun remained holstered as he looked to the duo for a moment in silence, lips pursed and arms crossed. It seemed to him that they were trying to contact someone. And, lucky for him, he appeared to have caught them right before they were planning on heading out.

"Pardon the intrusion, 'Pardners," Arthur said in a polite tone as he slowly stepped forward, lightly flicking his Gambler's Hat upwards so he could see them better. "But.. I just couldn't help but overhear that you two were in the business for solving this here..." He paused, holding out his arms and motioning to the eternal blackness that surrounded them. "Conundrum." He nodded once to reaffirm that statement, before continuing. "Now, I may not be made out of metal or have fancy.. flyin' powers, but one thing I do know is when someone needs to be put in their place. And it seems to me, tonight at least, there are quite a few of them folk who fit that there category. And, it also seems to me, that you're lacking on assistance for the night." Arthur paused for another moment to let out a quiet sigh, and then continued. "Now, I certainly ain't no hero. But I do have a very particular set of skills that you two may find beneficial. So, to cut to the chase here, I was hopin' that you two had room for one more in your little... ass-kickin' party."

Mike walked around the New town that was called New Gotham, where he was at for over a week so far. No matter how long he was there so far he still had trouble getting used to it, but he still missed his new life back home in San Francisco. It was way better than his life on little tall, island City. Even if Mike wasn't happy for a long time, then again after what his ex did and the fact that because of because of her he won't ever see his son Ralfie ever again, wasn't all that surprising at all. However, at least Mike was able to have some sort of life in San Francisco, with a good career as a Marshall and good co workers. In fact, he was actually beginning to some what slowly get back to himself, other than the time when he saw his son son with the demon that took him, and his son growling at him and then disappearing with the demon that is but that was beside the point.

Mike was sure that after that, even if it took him a while he would get better. However then he disappeared and things seemed to only confuse him even more. Granted it had been a while since then but it was confusing him. Both the fact that he was in a new place and the event with his son but he since all of that slowly began to get to himself, even if it was hard to do. Also, Mike tried not to think about any of it as he walked. In fact Mike tried to think about his new life and what the future held for him. Mike wondered if it could have been a sign that he needed a change of something. He decided to take a day at a time to get used to it as he walked around.

  • Tick. Tock. Tick. Tock. Tick. Tock.
The hulking outline of a being neither man nor beast skulked in the shadows of the dilapidated building, claws . He bared his teeth, the scent of prey in the air.
Although he was more animal than man in many respects, if there was one thing Victor Creed could appreciate, it was tradition. When you live to be hundreds of years old, you notice patterns. Events and formulas that occur over and over throughout history. Creed had come to develop a respect for the few things he recognized as constants. He didn't age, but if there was any wisdom at all that he'd attained over the years, an admiration for tradition. His hyper-acute sense of hearing alerted him to the tickings of a clock two stories above him, and he was counting down the seconds in his mind until the hand hit midnight. That, too, was something that separated him from the animals. His ability to plan.

    And oh, had he planned.

He'd been planing this for the better part of a year. Tracking, stalking. Creed had the viciousness of an animal, but he had the mind of a strategist. Time was trivial to him. Time couldn't kill him; nor could bullets, fire, or disease. The same was true of his prey; the man he hated most. His hunt had lead him across the country. Once he realized his target was headed for New York, it was a simple matter of cutting him off, getting the lay of the land, and baiting the trap. Like any good hunter, Sabretooth knew his prey. Recognizing patterns was something of a specialty of his. If Logan was heading to New York, it meant he was going to be meeting up with the X-Men, and with the contest raging between the Thieves' Guild and V.I.L.E, it was only a matter of time before Xavier's mutants intervened. All he had to do was pick a side and wait.

This was going to be the latest battle in a war that had been raging for nearly two centuries. The exact spark that ignited their feud is lost to time, long forgotten by both combatants. Victor was older. Meaner. A mutant, born in an age before the term 'mutant' was even coined. His very existence was a hell he could not escape, and he grew to resent the world for it. He became an animal. The very same was true of Logan. But he reformed. He learned to move on. Adapt to society, and shut out the feral instinct that drove both he and Creed. Wolverine is a man, terrified of becoming an animal. Sabretooth was an animal, never given the chance to be a man.

The envy ran deep. He was the twisted reflection of a funhouse mirror, given sentience, only he had come first. To a being like Creed, being shown the image outside of the glass is the cruelest fate it could fathom. It was why Creed had made it to point to track down Logan, once every year, and prove his superiority. It was why he'd made it a point to take away anything Logan had ever cared about. After all, If anything could bring meaning to Sabretooth's continued existence, it was breaking the man made of adamantium -- Reducing him to the same primal impulses he lived by. If he could prove his rival was no better than he was, perhaps he could find a modicum of comfort that he was joined in his isolation. He heard the clock strike midnight. He bared his claws, walking slowly down the hallway. He growled through his fangs, voice like a Grizzly.

    "Ready or not, runt."

"Peni. Looks like we're just in time for the party," he quipped morbidly as the girl appeared in her mecha, not so much to "lighten the mood" as Parker would have, but more to highlight it was high time to put an end to this destruction. Miguel furrowed a brow slightly underneath his mask as the man who introduced himself as Gerome seemed to refuse Peni's aid; no matter which way one looked at it, he was quite a bit worse for wear, but the futuristic hero said nothing on that matter, letting him do as he pleased for the time being. He had to make a good impression, after all.

Of course, maybe that was a doomed effort before it began. Miguel admitted he could be a bit dense at times, but he definitely was able to discern the thinly veiled acrimony in the knight's mien. Maybe it wasn't such a good idea to open with him knowing of who Carnage was; as far as physical similarities went, good thing Parker wasn't here. If Miguel's suit was able to set off red flags, he couldn't imagine how one would think about Parker's.

'Course, Miguel wasn't here for that. None of them had the luxury of worrying about pleasantries right now.

As Gerome confirmed Miguel's internal hunch that he was associated with Robin in some way, his mind began to connect the dots again. If nothing else, despite his insistence that he was fine and besides that Robin's tactical expertise would be needed to push back Carnage and his forces, they definitely needed to bring this guy back. However, his train of thought was rudely interrupted as the wyvern suddenly appeared before them all, sniffing up him and Peni (either her mech or through her mech, who could say?) as if to size them up. Miguel stiffened where he stood, initially resisting his human instinct to retaliate, but judging from Gerome's wide smile, it wasn't a creature to be feared.

And the fact that it didn't look like it was influenced by a symbiote.

Once that was over with, Miguel cleared his throat uneasily as Gerome introduced it to them all. "R-Right, the pleasure's all mine. Women, huh? Can't live with 'em, can't live without 'em," he quipped again, more to ease himself off than anyone else, before eventually regaining his train of thought, turning toward Star and Marco. "None of you would happen to know where Robin is then, would you?"

Superman turned and looked over the newcomer. Everything about him, down to the slightest mannerism, was like something straight out of one of the westerns he used to watch with Pa Kent back in Smallville when he was younger. It wasn't the strangest thing he'd seen in the aftermath of the convergence, but it was still fascinating. Superman or not, he felt a little starstruck, speaking to a living, breathing piece of American history. He viewed their arsenal of weapons with some caution, however.
"I appreciate whatever help I can get...

...Though, I am going to have to ask that you keep those things holstered, if you can."

Their next stop was the Iceberg Lounge. If anyone had the faintest idea of what it was they were dealing with, it would be The Penguin. He knew the city inside and out, in a way few other than Batman did. A penny didn't hit the ground in Gotham without Cobblepot hearing about it. A direct encounter with the world's most dangerous city's biggest criminal mastermind could prove to be a significant ordeal, even for Superman. He knew that The Penguin made a habit of investing heavily into superpowered muscle and metahuman bodyguards. He was legitimately grateful for whatever help he could get, as it gave him a chance to focus more of his attention on protecting civilians and the city at large. Clark held out a hand toward the man in the gambler hat.

"Y... yeah, I'm fine, Saber. Just a little confused," Shirou clarified with a nervous smile.

The Phantom Kiritsugu kept whispering words of increasingly ghastly encouragement into the boy's mind. He ignored them, steeling his resolve. Fortunately, Saber distracted him by making some idle talk with Illya. It was good to see they would be getting along; the Illya of his world had a tendency towards mischievousness... but he couldn't remember how their relationship ended up; his memories got fuzzy in certain places. Maybe he was just confused by interdimensional travel?

Shirou shook the thoughts away, focusing on now.

He compliantly accompanied Tohsaka inside, choosing to follow her lead.

As they walked inside, he off-handedly mentioned, "The local police department apparently has some kind of lamp they use to contact the Batman, by shining it into the sky. I'm not sure how practical that is in a city of this size, but I don't think it uses magecraft. Maybe we could ask them to contact him for us? If we explained our situation, the authorities might be sympathetic."

At least that's what he hoped. The night was stronger in Gotham, like a canvas of darkness hung over the city and prevented it from going below a certain level of dourness. Needless to say, he didn't exactly like it, and he noticed a skippiness to his thought process: when he looked at people, he jumped to worse conclusions than he usually did about strangers.

This city was weird, and it was doing weird things to him. He wondered if Tohsaka or Illya had noticed something of a similar effect, or if it was just him.

In a way, it felt similar to the Fire, but less... actively malevolent, and more like a snuffing force. If the Fuyuki Fire was an explosion of evil, then whatever hung over the city was more like a cloud of darkness slowly strangling it, letting it breathe for a moment, then returning back to strangulation. Maybe experiencing the former directly made him more sensitive to noticing the latter? Shirou made a mental note to mention it later to Tohsaka: she was better at magecraft than him, so if anyone had answers, it'd be her.

"There's a lot of reality-bending demons here," Shirou remarked. He looked to Tohsaka for answers. "Is that normal for this, uhm, parallel world?"

Robo was familiar with them, to an extent he'd rather not go into, on account of the paradoxes that that invited, but he could say that he was a bit of a fan, so long as they were the right kind of gunslinger. From the looks of things, this guy seemed to be that kind, for now. He pantomimed finger guns at Arthur, while he gave what was probably one of the worst Southern impressions in existence (which made it one of the best). "We could use your help, pard'ner. Got a name, Shane?" Wait, he probably didn't know what that meant... whoops.

Robo cleared his throat, glancing down for a sheepish moment before returning eye contact at Arthur again. "Call me Robo. Everyone does." He folded his arms, tilting his head with a curious expression.

"So. New in town? Got a horse or anything? Cowbuddies? ... I'll stop. You can call me Robo, by the way.

Arthur Morgan - Gotham City Blackout

3657560_0

Arthur's facial expression would remain pensive as he listened to this "Superman" speak. His first sentence caused the gunslinging outlaw to hook both thumbs into his belt and offer a slight nod in response. He stepped forward slightly with his right foot, keeping the left planted in its same position behind the other.

"Of course," Arthur replied in a sincere, yet slightly stern tone. Though, that tone could have just been heightened by his overall intimidating demeanor. From the neatly trimmed, yet scratchy beard that sat on the lower half of his face, to his thick eyebrows that never seemed to un-furrow, Arthur definitely did not seem like the friendliest of individuals. Arthur was aware of this fact, nonetheless, and certainly used it to his advantage when facing his foes, men or women. However, something told Arthur that he didn't really intimidate this "Superman" or his robot companion. Which, by all accounts, Arthur was indeed fine with. They were on the same side, after all. Though, when the super powered man asked him to keep his guns (and more than likely his other weapons as well), pocketed, Arthur would purse his lips and slowly nod with a sharp exhale from his nostrils. "I'll try my best," He said, before leaning in close to Superman and smiling. The smile was a knowing one, and while not necessarily a contradictory one by any means, it was definitely... smug. Like he knew what he would do and would definitely stick by that plan, push or shove. "But... no guarantees. If things go hairy, I may just have to resort to more extreme measures, after all." When the hand was offered up, Arthur gladly reached out and shook hit, the cowboy's robust grip, while nowhere near as powerful as Superman's own, still impressive nonetheless. "Arthur Morgan. And, likewise."

The man nodded once more, as if to further affirm their partnership in this event, before his attention was turned towards the man made of metal. Now, Arthur knew that while pleasantries were certainly important, there certainly wasn't much time to ask this being any unnecessary questions. After all, there would be time for all that fun nonsense later. No, for now, Arthur kept his wits about him and simply took the latter's own questions in stride.

" 'New' here would be a bit of an understatement," He replied graciously as a small smile managed to curl its way onto his face. His hands would find their way onto his hips and his knee would push outwards slightly as he shifted his weight onto it. His face lowered for a moment while he directed his attention to the concrete roof below, before bringing his left arm up so he could flick his Gambler's Hat upwards with his thumb. "Honestly, I've been here for months now, and I still ain't quite used to modern foods yet." A quiet chuckle escaped his lips as he looked upwards once more and wiped his chin with the same hand, before lowering it and resting it on his hip once more. He glanced back towards Atomic Robo and continued, shaking his head slightly as he did so. "As for the horse, I'm afraid that they aren't exactly as... commonplace as they were back in 1899. Now everyone either rides them fancy underground trains or drives them small metal carriages." When asked about his 'Cowbuddies', Arthur's expression went from polite, kind, and joking to a more melancholic one. He was definitely good at hiding it, but something... different took over his kind features that he had displayed mere moments ago. His eyes appeared that they had about ten pounds added onto them, all of which was pure, unfiltered regret. Or, from another perspective, just general sadness. Arthur inhaled slowly through his mouth as his teal gaze flicked upwards, before down to the roof once more. "Let's just say that there ain't much for me to look forward to back home."

After another few moments of silence on Arthur's part, he glanced back over to Superman. He attempted to regain his composure, and while he certainly was good at doing so, Arthur still seemed a bit... saddened. But, he still attempted to shrug it off nonetheless as he spoke once more, saying, "I'm ready when you two are." Which, in Arthur's mind, was all the permission he needed to give to continue.

    WORLD'S FINEST
Clark's expression turned somewhat dour as Arthur mugged in front of him and alluded to the possibility of using his guns. He made sure his grip on Arthur's hand was firm. He didn't take the loss of life lightly. Arthur was a loose cannon, and he had his work cut out for him, but was confident he could reign him in if he got out of line. He'd lead the Justice League this far, hadn't he? Even if Arthur were to get trigger-happy, if there was one thing Clark was confident about being faster than, it was a speeding bullet.
    tumblr_oqsmi0nuqX1t4rhclo4_400.png
"I hope it doesn't come to that."
Clark spoke clearly, holding the gunslinger's hand tightly in his grasp. It wasn't a veiled threat or a show of intimidation. His meaning was honest, and though he had said little, he meant much. He was petitioning Arthur to do the right thing. He was encouraging him to become something more righteous than a lone gunman, if just for one night. To become something heroic. Clark had only just met him, but he had faith in him, as he had faith in everyone. He gave Arthur an earnest pat on the shoulder, before pulling his hand away.

    He turned to Robo.

    "Sure thing.
    Oh, and Arthur--
    flight.png

-- You may want to hang on."
Superman took to the air, Arthur and Robo in either hand. Truth be told, he had little idea where the Iceberg Lounge even was. He didn't make it a habit of poking his nose around crime-dens -- not outside of his job as an investigative reporter, anyways -- and not typically in Gotham. Still, with his X-Ray vision and telescopic sight, it took him almost no time at all to find it. His superhuman reflexes made that list bit very nearly literal. He was careful not to fly too quickly, as not to rattle his friend in the gambler hat. He was fairly sure he'd likely ridden a horse or a train before, but experiencing a huge city like Gotham from this altitude must have been dizzying to a man plucked haphazardly from the 19th century. As they came upon the lounge, Superman made his descent.

He could both see and sense the presence of dozens upon dozens of armed, unsavory figures beyond the exterior walls of the lounge. He hoped that The Penguin was feeling reasonable. He set down Arthur and Robo, floating silently toward the door. It struck him odd that there were no bouncers of any kind. Though, then again, with the reputation the Iceberg Lounge had, it probably didn't need muscle to keep people from coming in. The people of Gotham knew better. Unfortunately, no-one amongst the three new arrivals were from Gotham.
"I need to speak with Oswald Cobblepot."
    tumblr_oqsmi0nuqX1t4rhclo5_400.png
The festivities and quarreling inside the lounge ground to a halt as Superman entered through the door. It was clear that no-one in the building was thrilled that he'd made an appearance. Over a hundred sets of eyes fixed themselves onto him, the S on his chest sticking out like a bright red target. Superman stuck his hands up, in an attempt to defuse the situation before it got out of hand. Out of hand it got.
The gaggle of villains and thugs in attendance rose from their seats in asymmetric unison, their attention focused on the man in the red cape. In the shadows, a different beast lurked. The edges of a black cape slipped between the pillars of a column above the ballroom floor. In the inky blackness, a second hero dwelled. Like Superman, he, too, was emblematic of hope. A different kind of hope. He was the hero that Gotham had built. A gargoyle, intended to make bad men righteous through fear.
    batman.jpg
A flash of smoke. An enormous, bat-like creature descended into the mob of horrified gangsters and supervillains on vast leather wings. This was the appearance the darkness gave him. The volley of batarangs found their mark, incapacitating their targets. Gotham's grim protector entered the fray, moving within the wisps of smoke like a wraith as he dispatched goon after goon with strength and skill that pushed the limits of human capability. His opponents truly thought they were fighting a monster. Arthur and Robo probably weren't sure that wasn't what they were seeing from their point of view.

Clark began to make the flight over, to lend his fellow Leaguer a hand, when a tendril of pitch-black darkness lunged from the ground beneath him, flinging him across the lounge with minimal effort.
In attendance amongst the group of villains was Richard Swift, better known by his supervillain moniker of Shade.
    shade.jpg
He was a magician with the ability to manipulate darkness itself as a corporeal force.
Wizards always were a bad match-up for Superman. While he was invulnerable to every form of physical harm conceivable, magic played by a different set of rules. He was just as vulnerable to it as anyone else.
The lounge had fully descended into chaos, with most of the occupants sprinting either toward Batman, Superman, or the nearest exits.
    Most of the occupants.
A shambling presence loomed over Robo and Arthur, the stench of death emanating from him, the torn end of a noose swaying haphazardly from his thick, trunk-like neck.
With a low and haggard voice, he repeated the first line of the nursery rhyme that had posthumously given him his name.

Robo was never going to get used to this.

No, really. Flying was one thing. He did that all the time. In a plane. With a jetpack. (God, he missed jetpacks. When did those go out of style?) Never like this, getting pulled up like he was a damsel in one of those moving pictures. Not that he minded, given who was doing it. Anyone could feel safe in the arms of Superman, even a lumpy metal gentleman such as himself. That said, this was the first time he had ever gone through the air like this, Superman or not. Sure, there had been the time with Baker just a bit ago, but that had also been his first time flying through the air like that.

He was a bit winded. Pun very much intended.

When they got to the Lounge, Robo tried to be the one to put their best foot forward first, but... well, 1. he wasn't the one who had flown them here, and 2. he couldn't move faster than the Man of Steel, even if said Man of Metaphorical Steel wasn't trying to move like he actually could. He just couldn't. It was a fact, like how literally everyone and their estranged brother from the next town over were giving them the stink eye for coming into this place. Mind, this was what Robo had expected from the get-go, and it was probably what their new cowfriend was thinking too.

But then, heck really started breaking loose. Even for Robo, there was too much going on for him to key into everything, let alone what he could do to try and untangle all of the fighting that was breaking out now. From the looks of his first dance partner, Robo was going to have his hands full. Glancing over at Arthur, Robo put up fisticuffs as he gauged their immediate surroundings for a game plan.

"Trust me on this one, Arthur, you're going to want to use those guns of yours!"

Grabbing hold of a now vacant table, Robo leaped into the air towards Grundy, new improvised weapon in hand. However Grundy decided to try to engage him, Robo would swing the table out in front of him first, aiming it (as well as one could aim a table) at Grundy's neck. Ideally? To pin him, to the ground, but at the very least it should send him reeling.

The worst part of this? He owed Ada Little Caesar's now. He hated Little Caesar's. Bets are stupid, kids. Don't follow his example.

Peter hung his head down when Viv asked if he knew were Junko was and all the Webslinger could say to the android was, "I don't know."

"She was suppose to be locked up in Ravencroft the last time I checked but now... I'm not sure anymore," Spider-Man looked up and stared at the ventilation shaft that he had used to enter V.I.L.E.'s stash before turning his head to Viv, "I'm sorry... I have to go. Viv, go help the others." With a heavy sigh, Spider-Man ended his goodbye with, "And be careful."

Within an instant Spider-Man fired a thread of webbing at the ventilation shaft and out of the building.

Spider-Man swung through the city of New Tokyo before landing on a nearby rooftop where the Wallcrawler pulled out a ruined rose that was meant for someone he held dear.

    Mary Jane...

Peter pulled up his phone to send a message the person whom he felt he neglected.

    MJ... I'm sorry I couldn't make it.

    It's alright, Tiger... I understand.

Neptune turned her head towards the new girl that suddenly arrived and rolled her eyes, "Seriously? We're introducing another character now? And to think we were just getting to the good stuff."

"Yeah, Tiny Me," the larger Neptune nodded her head in agreement before pointing at the mystery girl, "Sure, you may not be some evil spy but just who are you and how are you suppose to help use find Uzume?"

Arthur Morgan - Gotham City Blackout

Superman's firm grip didn't go unnoticed by the outlaw one bit. Arthur didn't feel intimidated by the man, despite his clear amount of strength. The respect he had for the man before him was still very much present, and his clear code to not use guns, while a bit strange to Arthur, a man who comes from a time where everyone used guns, was still honorable in his eyes. It reminded him a lot of what he had once seen in Dutch van der Linde, before he was driven crazy. He didn't know Superman that well, and while he didn't outright trust the man due to his multitude of life experience that had taught him not to do otherwise, he sure as hell had respect for him. And in some cases, that was probably more important than trust, at least in Arthur's eyes. Not much time had passed and sooner than later, Arthur had been hoisted up into the air by his hand. The man immediately gasped for air as he dangled above the dark streets below, using his free hand to keep his hand from falling off his head. Arthur was seldom afraid of much, the only time he could really name that he was truly afraid was when he was on the verge of dying from his untreatable Tuberculosis, but dangling what seemed to be thousands of feet in the air (and flying over it, at that), with nothing but your arm being adequate support from falling was quite the humbling experience.

Eventually, the trio finally made their way to the fabled Iceberg Lounge. Arthur immediately made his way over to the nearest wall and leaned a palm against it, gasping for breath. "Gimme a minute..." Arthur mumbled as he waited on his breathing to subside. Even though the Tuberculosis was gone, he could recall this feeling being not too dissimilar to that unpleasant experience. By the time Superman had entered the nightclub, Arthur had gathered his bearings and pushed himself back up off the wall. He followed behind Superman, standing only a few feet behind the alien as they entered. The man clearly had a reputation here, it seemed, because the mere second they set foot into the Lounge, every eye in the building had been set on them. Arthur was tempted to say something to Superman, perhaps warn him to tread lightly, but he decided it best to keep his mouth shut. After all, this man had clearly been doing this hero-ing business for a while now, so he figured he knew what to do.

It was then that the array of thugs had all risen from their seats in unison like a they were a damn marching band, clearly about to attack the three of them. Luckily, Arthur was a competent man in a fight, so he figured that the usage of guns here wouldn't be particularly necessary if he played his cards right. However, the sudden appearance of smoke followed by the subsequent appearance of a man dressed as a bat quelled those feelings within the lone gunman. He had heard his name whispered throughout the streets of Gotham since his arrival. The 'Bat-Man' is what they called him. Honestly, Arthur had believed it to be a silly myth up until now. After all, a man dressed as a Goddamn bat punching thugs like they were ragdolls just sounded plain stupid. But now here, as Arthur saw it executed before him, an entirely different picture was painted in his eyes. One of understanding. The 'Bat-Man' was not only real, but he was a hell of a fighter too. He seemed to rival even that of Charles Smith, probably the best hand-to-hand combatant he'd ever had the pleasure of meeting, and being friends with. Hell, from the looks of how this other superhero moved, he was pretty sure he'd give 'ole Charles a run for his money.

Arthur's visionary analysis of the man dressed as a flying rodent was cut short, however, as he soon felt a thumping beneath his feet. An ungodly stench filled the room shortly after, Arthur wincing from the smell as his eyes began to water. "What in God's name is that smell?" Arthur asked aloud as he quickly reached into his pocket and pulled out his bandana. The gunslinger quickly covered it over his mouth and nose and tied it around the back of his neck. It didn't completely rid the smell from his unfortunate senses, but it sure as hell made it bearable enough for him to breathe. Arthur quickly turned around to find its source, and his eyes widened as he saw that... monstrosity before him reciting Goddamn nursery rhymes of all things. It looked like one of those monsters he'd hear Jack talk about after reading one of his books back in the day. Except here, it was much more disgusting to look at. When Robo told him to use his gun, Arthur gulped, before shaking his head. "Sorry... no can do." He shouted, shaking his head. He would keep his promise that he had made to the Superman as long as it wasn't absolutely necessary to use his guns. He grit his teeth as he did his best to avoid whatever attacks came his way, and as he noticed Robo pin the zombie monster down, Arthur turned to him. "When I give the signal, hit this bastard with everything you've got!"

But Superman hadn't mentioned anything about a bow.

To Arthur and Arthur alone, time would slow down to a complete and utter crawl. It was as if the world around him was one giant stopwatch, and Arthur had just wound it back. To everyone else in the room, however, time stayed the same.

TICK-TICK.

In one swift move, Arthur had reached behind him and yanked out his Huntsman's Bow. To accompany this, Arthur also reached into the quiver that was attached to his back and pulled out two Fire Arrows. He wasn't using his gun, but he'd be damned if he was about to let this fucker harm any innocent lives tonight, undead or not.

TICK-TICK.

With the aim of a professional huntsman, Arthur slowly drew his bow upwards and pulled back the string, already having loaded a single fire arrow into it.

KER-PLINK. KER-PLINK.

Like clockwork, two giant red X's would appear on Grundy's body, though much like the world slowing around him, only Arthur would notice them. The first one was marked at his head and the other at his torso. He raised his bow a little more, steadying his aim to a perfect still, and then...

THWIP. THWIP.

Time immediately came went back to normal for Arthur as he quickly shot two flaming arrows right towards Grundy's head and stomach with almost no lag in between each shot. To the average onlooker, it was as if Arthur had achieved superhuman speeds and deadly accuracy in about the span of five seconds, though to Arthur it was more like a whole minute had passed. If the arrows connected with their respective targets, Grundy would immediately catch fire, which would hopefully weaken the inhuman beast. "NOW!" Arthur shouted to Robo, hoping he would listen and do as he told him to earlier.

  • Carmen shook her head, "No can do, blue boy. I don't leave my friends behind." She stepped past Nightcrawler and eyed up Sabertooth as he and Wolverine battled. They seemed to be on roughly equal footing, as though Wolverine was the better fighter, Sabertooth simply was bigger and stronger. They both seemed to have some sort of powerful, almost comical level of healing going on with them, as they've already both dealt more than fatal blows to each other with seemingly no consequences whatsoever.

Carmen Sandiego thinks for a few moments, humming discontentedly as she watches the two men rip each other apart to no avail. If Player was responding, she would be able to bounce a few ideas off of him and get a second opinion, but he's oddly absent for the time being. Or, if either Zack or Ivy were present, she would be able to devise some plan involving distraction and misdirection, to lure Sabertooth into running in circles. She, of course, was stripped of her most valuable tools, and forced to resort to whatever she had on-hand.

She activated her grappling hook, took aim, and fired at Sabertooth's head. At the same moment, she darted down the hall and around a corner. If all went well, it would grab his attention, and he would only see the end of her cape as she finished evading his vision. She would lead him on a wild goose chase throughout the building, perhaps wrecking the place as he tries to remove walls in search of her. If he loses interest, she can always shoot him with something else.
