"Oh, man, we're missing people?" Rex looked nervously out a nearby window. "Hey, yeah, we're missing that cloaked guy I met when I first woke up, and that big turtle I accidentally hit with my Rider..." Perhaps he should have been making sure everybody made it to the castle, there were more than likely creatures resembling the Wintaur out there. "We've gone such a long way, too...We'll just have to look for them when we head out tomorrow. We are heading out tomorrow, right?" As pleasant as these people were, he really had to be home before the next EVO breakout.

Getting his mind off the missing folk, at least partially, was the mention of dinnertime. "Sweet! I could eat a horse!" He smiled and pumped his fist, politely following the group.

He noticed Sento's glare and his question without missing a beat. "I-I dunno. I got a wicked case of deja vü just now. Like...like..." His voice trailed off. A heat covered his back, and he heard a gruff shout in his ear. "...Huh. Maybe my memories reset again." He thought a little more. "Except no, maybe they didn't! I remembered Van Kleiss and that time I was trapped in Breach's freaky alternate dimension! That's not the type of thing I remember when I reset..."

Ripper

Dark-haired by ivantalavera on DeviantArt

"Oh thank goodness, I'm STARVING!"

Ripper had half the mind of course to just revert back to her dinosaur form (or rather his dinosaur form, it was only the human form that was female) and tear everyone here to shreds for her next
meal. She looked hungrily at Rex and at Aine, but then thought better of it. Rex alone defeated a creature twice her size and going on a rampage didn't do well in her LAST adventure. She bit a nail with her teeth as she sat down, grumbling a little. Just like worthless weak humans, she was forced to wait for her food, and not endulge in the thrill of the hunt.

"Their food better be good. I gave up hunting for this."

Quickly growing bored, she opted to strike up a conversation with the nearest human she could. Which happened to be Rex!

"So, what do ya think of this nest so far? Nice of the delicious meat sac-- of these good fine people to shelter and feed us!"

This was all to appease her boredom and to keep from eating everyone here. Perhaps at night. When everyone is sleep. No one is going to notice a missing person here. So long as she avoids the "important" people and of course the ones that can bloody fight back.

"You hunt?" Rex's eyes bounced up and down Ripper's attire. Awfully modern clothing for someone who hunted, but as someone who had his meals prepared for him, what did he know?

Naturally, this odd girl wanted to speak with Rex, who was feeling equally runny-mouthed. "It's no Providence, but it's good to have crashed in a place where EVOs are accepted day-one. Before I came along, they used to have EVOs killed off. I've got to watch my shifting, though."

Cue the passing comment about everyone being "meat sacs".

His brown eyes widened. "Um...What do you mean by that?"

“What do you mean by what? Just commenting on these fine people....” Ripper smiled as widely as she could but couldn’t help but stare at him, her “claws” twitching, “forgive me for asking, as I’m certain that this is common knowledge where you’re from, but what exactly is an EVO?”
Don’t think about food, don’t think about food, don’t think about food! This form can be so ..... limiting .... how she longed to tear free of this flesh and move onto to her true flesh but doing so in the middle of a human dwelling? That was not very smart.... best just to wait.... after all a good hunter knows when to wait....

"You said...Oh, never mind." Rex rolled his eyes. She was probably just another EVO, he could probably subdue her if she was fully taken over by active nanites. Speaking of which, she wanted to know more about the mechanics of Rex's native world.

"EVOs start out as normal beings, but they have lots of tiny machines in their bodies called nanites. Once in a while, the nanites unexpectedly activate, causing them to mutate into big behemoths that we call 'EVOs'-And trust me, active EVOs are not handsome beings." He showed off with the hasty construction of a Punk Buster. "I'm an EVO myself, but the difference is that I can control my nanites. I've figured out how to build larger machines with my body, mostly weapons. Then I can send my nanites to deactivate the other guy's, which reverts them to normal. I need a nanite recharge afterward, but other than that, I'm all right."

If this girl didn't know what EVOs were, then there was no way she was one herself. Just what was her deal?

Blah blah blah blah, something about machines and nanites? She didn’t know what nanites were but she didn’t press him...

“Right......”

She looked at Rex and notices his quizzical look - he was questioning her.

Should I indulge him?

“Let me guess, probably wondering what my deal is?” She smirked.

“Naturally, I wouldn’t trust such devices either. Tech quite faulty in my opinion, best not to be too reliant on it.”

Reversegirl’s eyes roamed over Bardock. Either she was attracted to him or simply taking him in, would be hard to tell with all the emotions that showed on her face (IE none). She turned toward Gine.

“You are the same kind as him.”

obvious statement aside, Reversegirl wasn’t exactly robotic or monotonous - her voice is fairly normal if you don’t count how ethereal it sounded - it’s just affection-less.

Abelgard the Heir & The Thrall

Abelgard couldn’t help but get a feeling of proudness when being told he was much wiser beyond his years, even if it was coming from a child who doesn’t remember names with good accuracy, but hey, at least it was a small boost to his mood that made him think of something else other than the approaching terror of realization reaching his mind. The Thrall however, merely tapped Abelgard on the shoulder, snapping him back into the world, and then pointed behind him and said

“T-th...ey, go th...ere...”

The large man said when struggling to speak, as Abelgard now noticed that the rest of the group was going to presumably the dining area without them.

“Wait for us! Don’t leave us behind!”

Abelgard yelled out as he began to jog to catch up after the group, the Thrall chuckling to himself at the sight, before taking the same course of action, albeit much slower paced than the Heir.

Charlene Haversmith
654997

Charlene Haversmith had it good at present for the most part. Her family on the train was fairly well off, though not at the rank of train nobility like apparently they had been before she was born due to her Grandfather choosing some poor allies, making some bad investments and then getting found out and excommunicated from the train, itself. But her family recovered and eventually when she was old enough, managed to get her family to loan her the money to start her own business. Railthym n Brews, a coffee shop that while not massive, had great service and skillfully brewed coffee beans from exotic locals along the Great Train's routes.

In recent times, she has however had some issues with her love life. Namely, falling head over heals for one of her regulars, Eadrik Christoffel Dael Otten Van Aalsburg-Oirschot, the next heir of one of the major. That kind of stuff mattered to her family, but not to her. The only thing that mattered was love. It wasn't until she was in too deep that he finally revealed down the line that he was engaged to Elizabeth Borgese, the heir to the other most powerful family of the Great Train. Needless to say, it had crushed Charlene to have been strung along so much by the man. But a part of her still believed that he might leave his betrothed at the altar and choose her instead.

The young Barista sat down at a table, both hands clasped down on her coffee as she stared down deep into the black hued liquid. Her eyes were slightly damp as her thoughts turned back towards Eadrik. Her best friend Yvonne sighed. Yvonne had an athletic build, and had the look about her that she worked with her hands on machines. In fact, she was an engineer and trained by the Borgese family. She had tried to warn Charlene before it was too late. But her friend was head over heels and had only love googles for the man in front of her. Something that made her wished that her friend looked at her that way. She placed her hands over Charlene's hands.

"It'll be okay, Cha Cha. There are plenty of other fish in the sea." She chuckled lightly. "Besides, I know how much of a catch you are. You cook, you bake, you can clean, and you have the skills and knowledge to run your own successful business." Yvonne moved her hands away and placed them back on the table.

Charlene smiled a weak smile. "Thanks Vonny. You are always there for me. I do so love that about you." She took a long and satisfying sip from her coffee. It was the good stuff to be sure. But she only stocked the best stuff. The pair chatted a little bit about this and that.

Her thoughts drifted towards the oncoming wedding. With each day it got closer and closer. And if they managed to get married, it would be a joining of the two most powerful Great Train Families. Part of a plan that she was sure was in motion for a long, long time.

After finishing, her drink, she turned to her friend. "Thank you very much for the talk. I do so need to go take care of some things in the back room. Can I count on you to hold down the fort until I get back?"

"Of course, Charlie. I got you."

With that, Charlene Haversmith walked into the back room and into a closet, turning on the light while searching for some coffee beans to restock for the front. Suddenly as she grabbed a can of coffee beans, the door closed sharply and the light went out. Maybe it was one of her employees playing a prank on her, or one of her other friends. "Oh. Ha.ha. Very funny guys. Open on up."

She tried the handle and it wasn't budging. She jostled it more in a panic. "This is not very humorous. Come on now. Please."

She suddenly managed to get the door opened and what she found was not her shop, not in the slightest. Instead of the metal floors and walls of the Train, it was the cold stone floors of a castle of some sort. What kind of magic was worked on her. Magic as a thing was heard of, but she had never seen such acts in person before. Perhaps she could find out who summoned her away from her home and get a ride back, or at least directions and an escort. She had heard tell of great wars and dangers on the countryside beyond the Great Train.

Carefully, Charlene wandered down the hall, "Hello? Is anyone there? I appear to be lost."

ZARA

THE STEEL DEVIL

2_20c854c4fb7af3a5ad61c2564630b275_t.jpg

Zara the Steel Devil was on a mission. The mission, to take out a roaming gang of marauders that had been assaulting the supply train between Steel Port and Iron Hold. Zara's muscles in her arms flexed as she removed her sniper rifle from her back, setting up the tripod legs and laying flat against the ground in position. Her yellow eye pressed up against the glass that acted as the focusing point and spotted their camp.

The marauders had a makeshift camp of tents and two vehicles. One of them was still running as the steam from the engine was still coming out at a steady pace. One of the others smacked another on the back of the head, pointing and yelling loudly, but undecipherable at this distance. Though based on the actions, it would seem that it was due to leaving one of their transports still on, wasting precious resources. The hit member ran over and turned off the engine. It died down and the sounds of nature returned to the surrounding area.

Looking around the camp, it looked as though there were ten members of it. As her rifle scope moved around the camp, she spotted two women and one man in cages. So apparently they were slavers as well. Probably preparing to sell to the Black Market or even to Magical Tribals. The Steam Empire surely wouldn't stand for that sort of thing. It would make them more likely to send in the Dreamcatchers and eradicate the whole bunch. Probably claim them all as Magicals, just to be on the safe side.

She carefully equipped her silencer on the far end of her rifle and took aim at a member that was taking a leak a distance off from the camp. Head shot, one and done. Scanning the surrounding area, another hand wandered from the camp, into the foliage from the nearby woods, looking for more firewood for the fire. Zara made sure to adjust her aim for the difficulty of the foliage and once again took aim. Second head shot. One and done.

The rest were in the camp and long range unfortunately would just alert her targets. Carefully dissembling her sniper rifle silencer and placing on her back, Zara slowly and quietly climbed down the nearby cliffs into the tall grass where she began to shimmy closer and closer to the camp. Nearing one of the tents, the mercenary silently entered and carefully eliminated the three sleeping marauders. As she exited, a member was standing right outside and shouted "INTRUDER!!"

Zara immediately stabbed him in the heart, twisting deeply, cutting the yell short, but the damage was done. The remaining four had grabbed their weapons and squared off with her. Zara placed her knife back on her belt and removed her two short swords. On of the men, thinking that he could attack during this exchange was met with the hilt of one of the blades directly to his face, followed by a boot to his throat. The next motion was a swift crack as she snapped his neck.

She smiled at the remainder as they all charged at her, thinking that they could overwhelm her with direct force. She deflected the blows from the first two men, but the third managed to get in a grazing slash at her thigh, only managing to cut her pants and lightly into the surrounding flesh as she had managed to just move out of the way of a more dangerous artery cut.

Zara followed up with a backflip, throwing one of her short swords into the man's throat and stabbing a second man deeply into his gut, only having enough time to stare down in amazement before he fell over face first. The last man took off at a dead run for the car, managing to start the ignition as Zara pulled her blade out of the one man's throat. The car started to drive when Zara pulled out her pistol and fired, hitting him in the side of the head, causing him to collapse onto the steering wheel.

She followed up her heroics, by grabbing the keys to the cages and freeing the slaves. "You're free now. Go take the Vehicles. I think you've earned them at this point." She chuckled. "And besides, they certainly wont be using them any longer."

They thanked her and left. As Zara finished cleaning off her weapons and walking off into the forest, suddenly she was inside a structure of some sort. Did someone sneak up on her and use Magic? Was a Magical watching her fighting prowess? Not that she hated Magicals like the Steam Empire, but they could still be dangerous at times, and unpredictable.

She could hear the sounds of commotion up ahead. Perhaps some sort of meeting hall. She would wait and listen first before heading in.

As the Slayer reached the opposite end of the hall, he would stop to glance over at a large feast being prepared in the dining hall. He could even see how his visor was fogging up slightly due to the steam and heat coming off the food. In response the Slayer made the rare decision to depressurize his suit, making a light hissing sound as he let in the surrounding air fill his nostrils. That's when he could smell the food situated on the table, a scent which brought back memories in times of old. Normally he'd have no need to eat given the affects of the Divinity Machine, but for the moment he stared silently in reconsideration. He couldn't even remember the last time he ate, other than recollections of grand feasts with his fellow Sentinel brethren and even vaguely as a family man those lifetimes ago. But since his baptization in power, he had otherwise not smelled or even seen a meal just as appetizing as this. For once he didn't smell burning ashes or rotten demon guts. And while he had no reason to eat out of necessity...

Perhaps he could indulge on his nostalgic memories just this once - so long as he kept guard on his surroundings.

The Slayer would pick his seat as he waited for the feast to begin. However he did not remove his helmet - and would refuse to until food was served to him. As he silently waited, he would listen to the busting chatter surrounding him. Most of it seemed like boring drivel and greetings, nothing he was truly interested in. He would glance over to see two more newcomers come into the room - being two women of different backgrounds. The first one that came in didn't appeal to him that much, but moderate intrigue was given towards the other "grittied" mercenary soldier. Still he looked for only a moment before returning his gaze back to the rest.

Bardock looked over at the emotionless face of Reversegirl, carefully eying her for a second before she moved on to his wife, Gine.

"Yeah, I'm the same species but I'm slightly different that my husband, Bardock."

Gine hid the fact that she could fight if she wanted.

Bardock turned toward Reversegirl "Depending.. my scouter reads ki levels, I've never tried having it read other energy signatures before."

It was then the two noticed the crowd started to grow at the dinner table.

"Bardock, I'm parched after cooking up all that good food.' Gine lightly giggled.

Bardock lightly smiled over at Gine "I know you cooked good food along with the other chefs. I've tasted your food before. Hopefully there's enough to feed about 20 hungry people here.

Gine looked over at the cute Pokemon Fluffington. "Awwwww, who is this cute creature? I've never seen such a adorable creature before. Bardock, can I keep her?!"

Bardock blinked as Gine swooned over the cute adorable Pokemon in the corner "That's a pokemon, a sentient creature that can say its own name."

The little Eevee chose to introduce herself to the pair of tailed people. "I am Fluffington the Mighty! I am the Strongest Member of the Gym of the Mighty and Adventurer Extraordinaire! I have defeated even Legends and Myths alike! If Keeping me means I can join your adventuring group, then you may!" Fluffington the Mighty tries to strike a dramatic pose, but being held under the arm of a child really diminished the effect. Even if she sparkles to add to the drama.

Gine adored cute animals and now thought of the pokemon as a cute little pal. The Pokemon seemed to purr when it was petted and it made her so happy "You're sooo cute, Fluffington."

She wouldn't let anything bad happen to the group or her cute little Pokemon pal now.

Of course, Bardock too, but that was a different story.

"I'm a meat eater, too." Rex tilted his head. Maybe he was just overreacting, she probably was just a hunter-gatherer in her home world. That was a fear settled, but the sense of deja vü lingered as he sat at the table. "Gosh, my head is really deep in the clouds now...Anyone else? Really nobody?"

He watched Fluffington sap up attention between two brawny tailed guys. The little fox sure was cute...Heh, if only Bobo were that charming. Instead, Bobo would probably have used the poor thing as a washcloth for his...Erm, let's just put that thought away.

He heard a woman cry out for help in the hallway, to which he shouted, "Hey, we're in here! Take off your coat and stay a while, we really don't have a choice at the moment!" Yet another lady lost and confused, it made him wonder what idiot was randomly picking people to land here. Now it was sounding a bit sadistic, even a forewarning dream would have been nice to prevent this kind of fright.

He watched the armored dude tease a face reveal, only to leave his helmet on. Mysterious dude, he hadn't even said a word since his random appearance. Rex wished that the man would at least give a greeting, he was starting to give off a cold aura, like he was plotting to murder everyone here with one table flip.

Little did the EVO know that someone new was going to come into the castle, with similar traits to these three...

"Reset? That's a strange phenomena if I've ever heard one." Sento rubbed his chin, listening in to Rex's story as they walked towards the dining hall, led by Aine.

While doing so, they were met with a strange woman, who apparently hunted beforehand. Sento deduced that she's been living in the wild for most of her life. Then Rex talked about EVOs.

Fwip!

There goes his ahoge.

Sento couldn't help but smile like an excited child as he listened intently about the nature of these bizarre specimens, apparently chuck full of tiny machines known as Nanites. As mysterious as they sound, they appear to mutate the human body when it goes berserk--kinda similar to Nebula Gas and its properties to those without proper resistance.

"So what you're saying is that your body adapted to the Nanites, allowing you to control them as well as Nanites in other bodies?" Sento asked, interjecting the conversation, "Fascinating! So how do they all work? Do they occur naturally? Where they manufactured? Is it possible that they originated from--"

In the middle of his questioning was when that Rex's case of headaches seemed to have worsened over the course of their conversation with the strange woman, asking if anyone else is in the same situation as they sat on the table. He opted to sit besides the orange clad teen, his hair erection dying down.

"Perhaps it's being in the cold for too long. Maybe you should rest after you eat." Sento suggested, knowing that they woke up in a snowy forest.

Tateraya simply followed along the green clad armored being, seeing as he decided to divert from the group. It didn't sit well with him that this creature was silent. It almost feels like he's plotting something devious. Not that he cared about these other creatures, he merely wanted to go back to his brethren. Who knows how they're faring without him?

Papa and mama might not let me...But Imma do it anyway! But since you're here, welcome to Byrne~! And might I say, you two are so pretty~! ...Not prettier than my mama though! She's the prettiest in ALL of Byrne! It's true because I say so!" Aine nods her head proudly "I know not where you come from but you're timing couldn't be more precise as we are descending to the dinning table as we speak! No doubt your random appearance has left you starving! So come along with us! And don't you worry, we don't bite~!" Aine leads Charlene and Zara along with the rest of the group with her.

"Future Sight....A clairvoyant?" Bryant asks, he heard of them existing but he has never met one before until now in the form of this strange man. A Saiyan he called himself. Before he could think any further, Bardock had placed the Scouter over his good eye and pressed the button, while explaining its function on picking up ones inner power. "Amazing..." was all Bryant could utter. He could only imagine such technologies but to actually use such a thing was amazing. And they believed in spirits here in Byrne. Suddenly, Bardock took the Scouter back as Bardocks wife, Gine came and introduced herself in which case he bowed. Soon, everyone else came down the corridor, headed towards the dinning room table. Bryant may not have been paying attention...But he could've sworn there weren't this many people before...He might have to fire some of the guards if more strangers keep showing up in the castle

“..... were these headaches frequent before?” She didn’t quite understand human fragility and just now noticed the growing crowd around them. Before she could get her answer though the servants appeared laying plates and utensils before them. “Perhaps we should continue this another time?” She didn’t have any use of human stuff, she could make use of her jaw and claws but for the sake of appearance she needed to use such things. It annoyed her greatly. Then a whole feast was laid before them and she hungered! Almost immediately when the food she began digging in! Throwing food in her mouth and chewing!

As the group seemed to STILL be growing in how many people there were, Gin kept minding his own business and humming his own little tune as the group themselves were headed to get what they had been promised (well, most of the group had been). Upon getting to the room in question to see what exactly waits for them there, the group will probably find, it was 100% worth the time they had to spend waiting.

"...W-Whoa... L-Look at, at all that... delicious food...!" Gin skipped in his step as he would quickly find himself seated at the grand, expansive table - of which was metaphorically bloated with food. The more he looked over it all, the more Gin's hunger grew - and who could blame him with all of the choices before him, which all looked oh so good? Before long, you'd find him with several small portions of meat before him as he had unmasked himself in order to - you know, put it in his usually covered-up mouth! One bite in, and Gin flailed around with excited squeaking as the powerful flavour of what he had just digested would 'greet him' with a feeling of butterflies in his stomach.

"This is... really good?!" Gin's tone was filled with a positive mood and genuine surprise. Is it possible he's never tasted anything this good? It very well could be, he's but a child and logically wouldn't have had 'as much' compared to most others here so far. Without much delay, Gin would be diving face-first into the chosen selection he had helped himself to, savouring each sizeable bite out of it with a bright, unwavering smile on his face that may well (metaphorically) burn its way into people if given long enough. He's just a little unaware of the mess he may be making around him on account of literally everything he's feeling right now, though - something that may warrant a few stares from the others.

As the chefs began escorting the food from the chicken, the Slayer would continue waiting patiently until all the items had been served. Even then, it became surprisingly difficult for him to resist ripping and tearing into the main course prematurely. The smells were already enough to make him eagerly impatient: his stomach having grumbled audibly for the first time in eons. Still it wouldn't take long before the head chef announced their completion, permitting the entire audience to dig in.

With that, the Slayer would take off his helmet and placed it to the right of his silverware. His grizzled face would begin relaxing more as he gave a satisfied exhale, being now that he could properly smell the food without obstruction. For the moment, he could finally feel like he could actually breathe and relax, despite his mission in the background. But it can wait just a moment. For no one could possibly ignore such an occasion like this.

As he considered what he wanted to eat first, he'd eventually plant his gaze upon a large turkey two plates in front of him. Making his decision, the Slayer would rise as he unsheathed his right wrist-mounted "doom-blade" and jabbed straight into the bird's succulent dark meat like a makeshift skewer. His meal now secured, he slowly carried it to his plate and removed the meat with a fork before retracting his massive blade back into his wrist. Immediately he would rip apart one of its huge drumsticks in its massive armored gloves and began eating it like a normal decently-trained human being. For even the Slayer was taught in basic table-manners.

And it would be the best turkey the Unchained Predator had ever eaten.

As everyone in the banquet hall was beginning their glorious feast, the smell of freshly cooked food would soon bring the attention of another uninvited guest. Stomping his way through the main road into the fort, was a large turtle-like monster grumbling to himself in garbled growls and mutterings. His nose was pointed upwards, following the scent of a freshly cooked meal he had picked up just prior to entering the compound. He was absolutely famished after his long trip from the frozen woods and needed to fill his belly pronto. So once he reached the door into the guest room, he didn't hesitate to barge in like he owned the place.

"DID YOU GUYS DARE TO START A FEAST WITHOUT YOURS TRULY?!" the voice roared with visible offense.

As everyone would perhaps turn to face the incoming party pooper, a few would no doubt recognize the great beast as the great and terrible Bowser! But this wouldn't be quite the Bowser they knew. Instead of being a two-dimensioned piece of paper, this one sported meat upon his muscular three-dimensional body. And keeping in touch with his 2D cousin, his attitude still seemed to remain the same as the loud, rude, and bombastic Koopa King that he always was and always would be. But they would also see that he carried something rolled up in his left arm. Yet before they could guess on what it might possibly be, Bowser would quickly unravel to it reveal a shocking sight.

"AND WHO'S THE WISE GUY THAT MADE THIS TACKY POSTER KNOCK-OFF OF YOUR GREATNESS?! WAS IT ONE OF YOU GUYS?!"

Meat Bowser held the tattered and scorched remains of what was supposed to be Paper Bowser himself!

"YOU'VE GOTTEN ALL THE PROPORTIONS WRONG! AND I'M NOT SCARY ENOUGH! TOTAL PUSHOVER! GET IT RIGHT NEXT TIME!"
