The Wandering Storyteller
After that run in he'd had by going too near the church that morning Allec had simply wandered around the town trying to find something to take up his time. He'd decided to go to one of the more populated parts of town and see if there was anything in a dumpster to eat. He was pretty hungry and being a hermit for a good ten years tended to lower your standards for a meal. He was just passing by when the wall to his right began to shake. He looked up and noticed a cascade of dust fall down on top of him. Allec closed his eyes to try and protect them from damage but a cracking noise made him open them again. He found a chunk of rubble and brick was falling from the building, Allec stifled a curse and tried to run away from it and got out of the way, mostly.
The rubble fell directly onto Allec's leg causing him to grit his teeth in pain. "Shit" was all Allec said before his eyes began to change to an angry red. His body began to spasm as it swelled up. Allec's skin turned green, his arms lengthened slightly. The final thing of the man to change was his face, it elongated and changed into a long snout. The dragon lifted its head with a snake-like neck. Its nostrils flared as it sniffed the air for the first time in ten years. A thick tail pushed the rubble from the beast's leg. Though Allec's leg may have been broken the dragon lay the foot down heavily as it stood up.
The reptile took up all of the alley where Allec had been standing. It moved its snout to the ground as it caught a scent. The dragon narrowed its eye as it caught the irresistible smell of blood. The dragon out a puff of air, it moved down the alley until it poked its head into direct sunlight. A forked tongue flew out of its mouth as if sensing the air. The dragon only waited a few seconds before it rushed fully into open air ignoring exclamations of fear and shock from people around it. It stopped in front of the door of the bank giving it a long sniff and an experimental nudge. The dragon threw away any pretense of subtlety as it rammed its body into the door breaking the door from its hinges and sending glass flying into the bank. The dragon took stock of the situation, sizing up the hostages and dead bodies around the bank. It paid little attention to the guards as they were on their feet and the Dragon was hungry, not in the mood for a hunt.
The dragon took a few steps to the side and sniffed at the corpse of a guard. The dragon's jaws closed like a vice over the man's arm, it ripped its head back forcefully. Blood seeped down its jaws as the reptile moved its head up and down, ripping and tearing into the flesh. The dragon finished off the arm in a few seconds, swallowing the limb bones and all. The small taste of blood was all it took to throw the dragon into a feeding frenzy of sorts. It let out deep guttural growls as it tore into the corpse, apparently temporarily blind to the living humans around it.
