She gave a chuckle at Summer’s declaration of putting them in line. If only it were that easy, whoever they had left as their secret keepers had done a marvelous job. It was pretty obvious thanks to the letters they received that even if they had never managed to send even one themselves that her uncle was still getting messages from them somehow. Realistically the implications that Uncle Theodore had someone stalking them again should worry her but her Uncle was always the overprotective type, besides the only way Uncle Claude could have got Uncle Theo to leave is through the complete promise that he’d still miss nothing in Hunter’s life.

“You know, if you do manage to track them down let me know. I’ve tried but any time I get close to guessing where they might have gone they’ve already up and left the country again.”

Summer decided to call out to Xander to finance a round of drinks and when Xander asked for clarification she hopped in immediately. She didn’t figure that Summer was poor, after all she was one of the best gambling fiends she knew, but it wasn’t fair to her to buy for a whole town of people she barely knew just to cheer her and Emily up.

“Xander! I got everyone here. Let Summer take those late arrivals.”

She turned back to Emily and Summer with a sheepish smile that wilted a bit as she remembered her latest letter from her Uncles. She was at least glad Hunter got them a bit more frequently but she missed her Uncles almost as much.

“I didn’t want to let Hunter know and get his hopes up but in one of the letters Uncle Theodore sent me he said that they already bought one of the houses down on Forest road.”

She let out a sigh as she got irritated over the letter. She herself had gotten her hopes up but it’d been months since then. She supposed that of all people she should know how difficult it is to move in. Bon Marche took a year to set up before she could move in. Still they bought a house not a business. Why did they even buy the house, why did her uncle let her know.

“You know I kinda assumed that meant they’d be moving back soon. Uncle Theo said they would but well it’s been what four months since then? I would shout at him if I knew where he was! I miss my swordsmanship lessons with him. Dad’s great too but he’s all about the aesthetics and defense with swords. Uncle Theo and I could brawl till the first drop!”

She hadn’t fallen long thanks to Thomas, her best friend for life! At least he would be soon. Her grin grew infectious s she learned the man who’s lap she fell into was named Alejandro, an awesome name really. Wait wait gotta apologize! Thomas was already on her case dang.

“Sorry Sorry Allie-boy! I’ll remember that! Also I didn’t fall, the spinny stool tripped me. ‘Sides I have worse like once a week at work.”

She gave a side eye to whatever was filling Alejandro was drinking. The color was familiar, maybe Kalani’s usual? She didn’t know if that meant it was an easy time or an intro drink. She decided to risk it anyways, that would be her next drink. Thomas’ too!

“Xanny! I want Four more of whatever Allie’s drinking!”

She had to include the cute gal who seemed to be concerned for her after all! She turned back to the girl. She had zero idea who she was, aside from the fact that she was the pianist when she crashed the party.

“I’m Makana. Makana Mayumi Roxas. You guys can call me Kana. But a Cutie like you? You can call me Kanny if you want”

Flirting was in her blood after all, she could not compliment a super cute girl. She looked back at Thomas only to see him looking greatly displeased. Hmmm not ideal She went to poke at one of the sides of his frown to push him into a smile.

“Tommy. Tommy. Thomassssss. Smile! Right Cutie? Guys like Thomas look all soft and nice looking with a smile! You can’t pull off brooding like Allie boy!”

Summer was about to yell out everyone but Alessia had beaten her to the punch with the offering of drinks. She knew better than to stop a friend from being generous. "You heard the girl get those drinks going to you very handsome devil you," she says in both a jolly and cheery tone to the man. She looks back Alessia "Well I have no plans on leaving Core again anytime soon I've been stuck as a maid for the past ten years and I'm thinking I should at least stick around for a year or two as a pallet cleanser. And decides I should at least see my little girl blossom into a young woman." Summer gives a teasing poke at Emily's cheek who in return gives a very embarrassed blush. "Sunsun! stop it that's embarrassing." "Oh you think that's me trying to embarrass you maybe I should tell her about the time you wrote me a song just for me or how you once accidentally ...." "No more, please my heart can't take it." Summer pats Emily on the head to calm down the now dying waitress. "But anyway if I ever hear anything from them ill be sure your the first to know still can't believe they just left him like that. But I'm sure in senseis tiny brain he thought it was a good idea. Well, anyways I think I'm going to go hit the slots while we wait for the guest of honor to arrive." "slots?" "Hmm, why the confusion Em?" "We don't have slots?" Summer looks over at Alessia "Did he do what I think he did?'"

Xander Nakamura~Alcohol Savant~The Bar-ista

"Got it!" Xander responded to Alessia, flipping out a small, black notebook from his back pocket and grabbing a pen behind the counter. Creating a T-chart, he scanned the room and tried to organize the party goers between late and on time. The task was somewhat difficult because he couldn't quite remember what was considered on time or when everyone came in, but he did his best. Confident that the two ladies didn't entirely have an idea of nor expected an accurate list of late and on time participants gave him a bit of leeway as to who charge which drinks to. Amelia was definitely on time. Thomas and Alejandro were on time, but Xander wasn't sure if they were there for the party. "I'll add them anyways," the bartender muttered under his breath, "they won't mind, right?" Elliot also arrived on time. Alessia was paying, so she wouldn't get on the list. Isaiah made it on time. Ren was assumed to be on time, but he wasn't really sure. Kana came in with Evie after Summer and Emily, so they were put on the late list. Everyone coming in after Summer, he assumed to be late. The birthday girl would be the exception for obvious reasons, and she'll get her drinks on the house. "And....done," Xander huffed, flicking his wrist away as the final name was written down on his notepad. Ah, Cora. He had momentarily forgotten about putting his pianist on the drink list when she popped up in front of him.

Staring at the appearing pianist, he nodded. "Of course, it'll be on the house as payment for playing tonight," he answered, grabbing at an empty glass cup on the counter, "what'll you have?" Before she could answer, he slid her another cup of water on the side. "This is just to help with the alcohol," he explained, placing a coaster right under the iced water. He wouldn't want his wooden counter to sustain any damage. Water damage is a pain to deal with. Well, any damage is a pain to deal with when he thought about it. Shaking his head, he addressed her concerns. "Hmm, I think you're doing just fine out there. Not too overbearing but also not too submissive, a nice balance that creates some ambiance. You don't want to be too loud where people are forced to listen or talk over your music, but you also don't want to be too compliant where people can't appreciate your playing. If I had to choose what type of music I'd like to listen to, I think learning something exciting would be my recommendation. Does that make sense?"

Kore really was a natural pallet cleanser huh. She got it, heck if it wasn’t enough she got it her older brother did. Mirko refused to go back to Jupiter City after a few weeks down here. It was different in a smaller town, somewhere that she didn’t need to fight tooth and nail to make connections. She just laughed at the idea of leaving now.

She pulled out a chair at one of the available tables nearby and motioned for them to join her with a smile as she heard Summer shift to a teasing tone. She herself felt it was about time to take a drink, one drink wouldn't hurt. She waved over to Xander and asked for her usual, a nice Blue Hawaiian. While she never quite cared for the taste she loved to gaze into the beautiful blue of the cocktail.

She took a sip before she started to die choking on her drink through her laughter as she heard the disbelief in Summer’s voice. The slots eh? Well they were still there but she suspected that Hunter wasn’t about to let Emily in considering she came with so little.

“Well the slots are all still there but I can assure you Hunter likely purposely left that room out of any tours. All the keys still have it added on but well, I betcha it’s not nearly as well visited anymore.”

She brought out her own set of keys. Hunter had given her an honorary room should she ever want to stay above ground for once, his words not hers. She had more access than most having not only a room key and a casino key but a storage key and a penthouse key.

“If you wanna take it for another go just let me know. I still have almost all access.”

Summers's eyes sparkled with joy when Alessia held up the keys to her "Realy oh think the goddess I thought I was going to be bored here." Summer was actually about to consider setting up some sort of blackjack table here in the bar but it looks like she won't have to do that now, well maybe she will still do it you can always make easy money off of drunk people. The two would sit down across from Alessia and looks back over at the barkeep "Barkeeper four glasses of Dark and stormy, please!" She yells back and then looks back towards Alessa. "So now that we have all the drama out of the way, how has life been for you as of lately, oh and I hope me just dropping this trouble maker here was not to much trouble. Sunsun your teasing again. Hehe well, stop making it so easy then kiddo." Emily gives her an annoyed frown in return.

Cora clapped her hands to her cheeks in both surprise and amusement. Cutie???? At least two filing cabinets in her head caught fire. Her palms slid over her eyes and she chuckled shyly before taking a recovery breath and grinning giddily. "Nice to meet you! I'm Cora. Or, uh... Cory, or whatever you want to call me." The girl twisted a strand of her hair between her fingers. Why on earth wouldn't Thomas enjoy her company? She practically radiated chaotic energy. Oh wait, that's why.

The pianist lifted her chin when she heard Xander's voice and tipped her head to the side. "Ah- thank you... something exciting, mm?" She sipped the water and tapped on her cheek. "I think I know what you mean, yeah. Ok!" She was about to follow up with a drink request when Kanny so kindly decided for all of them. What was Allie.... who was Allie? Cora blinked past the babbling girl to the somewhat brooding looking man on the other side. Her eyes fell to the drink in his hand and she grinned curiously. She hoped it tasted yummy. "Y-yeah, what Allie is drinking." Cora rocked on her feet, then looked at Thomas. "I didn't expect to see you here with so many people around." She chirped and giggled. "Look at you breaking out of your shell."

Samuel had also been on the unofficial party committee, helping out with setting the place up and such. He had spent the time between then and now popping in to visit the birthday girl a couple more times and felt he wanted to help out, even if he wasn’t sure Hunter seemed all that keen about letting him do so in the first place. If he were judging from the odd glare he had received in the clinic the other day. He couldn’t really see what the problem was about it, perhaps the innkeeper was just a little stressed out or something? Then again, that didn’t seem to be the issue. It wasn’t like he hadn’t offered his help for other events in the past after all...Though he supposed maybe a birthday was a bit more personal than the likes of a festival and it wasn’t like he was family. Even so, he just treated the brief bad vibes shot at him that day the same way he always would treat such a situation. Pretend he didn’t notice in the first place. It could have just been a bad time? Yeah. Something like that. He had pretty much let it slip his mind at this point anyway.

For now seeing that everything was in place and the only thing left to do was wait for Lumina to actually arrive. He was planning on grabbing a drink but it seemed that the bar was crowded already with a mixture of regulars, friendly reunions and...whatever on earth Kana was doing right now. Xander looked busy enough so he decided to wait until things over there quieted down a bit. He instead. had taken a seat at one of the tables, half watching the door and waiting for things to start like the others and half keeping an eye on Amelia. He knew that she’d be uncomfortable in this sort of setting but he was sure that it would be good for her in the long run. Besides, apart from Kana’s big entrance seeming to send her soul out of her body for a brief second she seemed to be doing okay, even striking up conversation with one of the new neighbours. Huh. Maybe he wouldn't have to keep an eye all evening then...

Steve arrived at Bon Marché, the bar where the party was happening. He wore a style typical of him, consisting of a T-shirt, jeans, and sneakers. This is the place, all right. I've never been here myself, but I'd recognize it anywhere. You know, Mom seemed pretty adamant about me getting out of the house to come to this party. Steve had been about to fix dinner when Rachel had basically pushed him outside and told him to go to the party. She even insisted on taking care of Nausicaä while I went out and had fun. It's funny. My birthday's not for another three days. He shook his head with a brief smirk. You are gettin' weird, Mom. I'm surprised sis isn't here and up to her usual pranks. Mom said there was something she needed her to do. It'll be great to see everyone again and I wonder how many new faces there will be. In the year he'd been gone, Steve had forgotten nothing about his hometown. Almost nothing about Kore has changed. Upon entering, he saw a few familiar faces. There's Isaiah, doing what he does best. Who's that guy he's with? I've never seen him before. Recognizing him triggered another thought. I wonder if Asuka's gonna be here. She probably closed the store not too long ago. Does Alessia ever take a break from working? I remember when she moved to Kore a little while before I went to the mountains. He also noticed a mischievous-looking blond. Who's she? I've never seen her before. I wouldn't be surprised if she's friends with sis and the two of them prank people all the time, he thought in amusement. Before long, he noticed a few more familiar faces. Kana still lives here, too. She could be a bit eccentric at times, sure, but Steve was never all that bothered by such things and he found it impossible to dislike her with the energy and enthusiasm she put into everything she did. Sam's here, too. I wonder how Lia's doing. I guess I should go say hi to someone and it seems like everyone else has a conversation going with someone else. It might be a while before Asuka gets here, if she decides she wants to come. He walked towards him, a friendly grin stitched onto his face. Some may have wondered if it was all an act but the truth was that Steve was simply like this with everyone. If he was being completely honest, he couldn't think of anyone in Kore he disliked.
"Yo, Sam. It's been a while, hasn't it? How ya been?"

He tried to stifle his chuckle as Cressida played mediator for her younger sister. Everything about the girl screamed part time momma in his head. He couldn’t help but want to bug the younger girl, so in part he was sure he contributed to a fair deal of Cressida’s headaches. He liked both of them well enough but Leonie was ten years too early to try to be acting as grown as she does.

Honestly the very fact that the girls carried around swords was crazy enough and no that was not because he was jealous. He figured they both had a death wish if they were poking around the caves and forests. Then again he couldn’t quite blame them for being curious but the beach was a far better alternative to some dusty old cave.

He kicked at some pebbles as Cressida turned to cloud boy again. When the spacey boy declined his invitation he could hear the weird noises of shock being released from his own mouth unable to stop them. He raised his arm and pointed close to the boy’s face.

“Excuse me what? You have better things to do? You don’t. You’re gonna come and enjoy this picnic because obviously you’re having a hard time understanding that it wasn’t something you say no to! Miss Cora would be sad if she knew her students weren’t getting along!”

He was lying he was pretty sure that Miss Cora never said that. In fact he was semi sure that this counted as bullying but if Zach left then Leonie and Cressida would too. Heck if he had found anymore classmates he’d have dragged them in too. But he was pretty sure he was standing in front of some of the most stubborn kids in his class.

He started to pout before throwing his hands back down at his side. His face was becoming a bright red mess as he realized just how childish he had seemed. He started up a long ‘ahhhh’ as he threw his hands to cover his face trying to calm down.

“I mean! Okay, so anyways join if you want. But everyone cool is gonna join!”

With that he started to stomp away towards Cleo, Lily, and Oliver. He needed to escape for a second. He’d invited them, from there it was on them if they didn’t wanna do the cool thing and hang out. Oh what was he kidding he’d embarrassed himself.

"Well , that's nice to hear! Sila is quite a helper! Good job, Sila! Keep it up!"

Immersed into the conversation between him and the new girl. He almost forgot that he has friends everywhere and food chilling right in front of him. More energetic now, he went on while his hands uncovers the lids of the packaged food provided by Mason himself. He would pet Sila but his hands are stuck on food duty.

"It's nice to see to see you here today! About like a few days ago. I was learning how to bake with the master, Max! His baking is so good! Just smelling the cake and pies makes me not want to leave without buying a slice of bread or two! His Bakery has a blue colored roof, you can't miss it! It's a beautiful day spend time walking Sila around if that's your thing. My friend Mason over there is we should thank the food for, it caught me off guard too. I don't even know why..."

Oliver's conversation transitioned over Lila's dog and a bit of her life to Oliver's out-of-the blue advertisement of Max's bakery, with addition to other things that are almost irrelevant. Uncovering the last of the packed food. He watched over the scenery at the other side of the park unfold although having no idea of what's actually happening but to Oliver it was nothing dangerously harmful. The Reyes sisters going on and about. The younger one being on top of the jungle gym while her sister convinces something inaudible to his ears. With her is Mason and a blonde boy he forgot the name of but somehow familiar with the guy. Oliver can't help but smile. These are one of those days where he gets to see almost everyone in one place other than the classroom. Looking back to Lila with a questioned expression, he stood up along with Lila and her dog, whilst whatever pet was still on the dog left Sila.

"Don't worry about them they just- Hmm?"

"..."

"Oh! You're leaving already!? But you just got here!"

"..."

"Mmm... I see. That's okay! But before you go!"

The two stepped out of Cleo's hearing range. From the eyes of others Oliver looked worried for a brief moment before returning with a glad expression, giving an impression that he understood the situation why Lila has to leave early. Oliver ran back to the picnic rug and rushed to pack several delectable items and goods. Freshly opened food packed shut with it's lids again. The aroma remained in the air but only for a while. Oliver packed only enough for Lila and her special friend, making sure he didn't take the bigger food items as a whole but only pieces of them. Each item he picked was fitting enough to fit in a single large lunch box. Picking the last small item he was looking for.

"Excuse me, Cleo."

The boy went over to Cleo's side only lift a small food item to reach what's under it. A medium sized cloth with a blue plaid design, just what he needed to wrap the whole food he gathered. Going back to the food stack that he gathered from all over the picnic rug.

"Lila has to go early, Cleo. If Mason ask where she went. Tell him that she has to go for abit. She didn't tell me where but it seems important. You can still say goodbye to her while i pack this for her. Now, A little these and a little that and... There you go."

Oliver positioned all of the items into a shape of a single box and wrapped it all up with the cloth he got near Cleo's side of the rug. He did it with haste too. Oliver probably packs his own Lunch knowing that he knows how to pack it properly. Rushing back to Lila with a rather large wrapped up box of packed food in his hands.

"Here you go! Be a bit careful, the underside is hot! Have a good day, Lila!"

Lila has received Packed food! Yummy!

After moments, Lila left as Oliver gave them a small wave and returned to the picnic area where he found Mason stomping back with a slightly reddish face, he can see it from his view. This made Oliver rush back faster and approached Mason instead of sitting down first. With a hand on Mason's right shoulder and worried look on his face, he asked.

"Mason! Are you okay? What happened?"

Samuel looked away from the Amelia and the group she was with, his eyes now travelling towards the door that the birthday girl was due to arrive through any minute now, judging by the time. His mind briefly wandering to if he would get a chance to have a chat during the festivities. Of course with so many friends and family here she probably will have her hands full socially. Still, he hoped he could catch her for a few moments, at least enough time to give her a birthday gift. It was a little small... and it was maybe late to drop it with her, but he still wanted to, considering how he had been stopping in with her lately.

His gaze had been snapped from travelling around the room when hearing his name being spoken. Slightly more alert looking (As alert looking as someone like Sam could look that was). His attention then settled on the the cheery looking individual in front of him, only taking a split second to recognise him. "Oh! Steve!" He greeted back with a bright smile of his own "I didn't know you were back in Kore again. I've been pretty alright. You know, keeping Amelia out of trouble and all that" he joked with a light laugh, knowing well Amelia would be the least likely to be one to cause trouble, no doubt if she had heard his comment she would have given him a look. He gave a light wave of his hand as he continued "Nah, You know how things can be here so I've been just going with the flow and working on the ranch as usual" he answered with a gentle shrug of his shoulders. "Are you just back here for a visit or are you here to stay?" He asked curiously. He had seen a handful of familiar faces coming back to their Violet meadow roots to live as of late so he was curious to see if Steve was adding onto the list.

Lumina didn’t even need to guess at Hunter’s reaction to her statements. They’d known each other since they were children – it was rather easy to tell how he would react to things. And this was not the first birthday that she had stated she did not want to celebrate. She also knew him well enough to know he usually always had something planned for her anyways, even if it was small. And each year, she reminded herself to never took his kindness for granted.

“Come on Mina how many years have you known me now? Sure the party’s going to be a little big but that’s the point we can let them all distract each other.”

Her thoughts were right on the money. They had known each other for too long to let the little details of things like this slip through the cracks.

“You do have a point there, Hunter. Lumina nodded, noticing the drop in his own. Hunter was such a kind soul, always trying to make sure people were taken care of. And that included herself. No matter how much she tried to distance herself from it, he was there. He was never pushy about it, and did back off when people really needed the space.

“Lumina. If you don’t want to, then we don’t have to. Rhys will never know if we escape to the Blacksmith’s and just hang out for the night. It’s your day, sure I think we’d have fun with what Aless and I planned but if you’d rather dip then we will.”

This elicited a shake of Lumina’s head. “No, it’s more than fine. It would do me some good to see people. You put so much effort into planning it and everything. Now you’ve got me looking forward to it.” She gave a small laugh and took his hands and accepted his help into the wheelchair. As she sat down, it dawned on her why Rhys had told her earlier that morning that she could change into a set of her normal clothes for the day if she wanted. Impatient to get back out to her work, she wouldn’t pass up the chance to grasp onto some semblance of normalcy during her stay and didn’t think on it more than that. She made a mental note to thank him later, so that she didn’t have to go out in public in a clinic gown.

“So. To the bar, then?”

If she was going to be the star of the show, she couldn’t help but wonder who she would be seeing at the bar. It would be nice to see people outside of this room, and she knew there were some people that hadn’t gotten a chance to visit, or simply didn’t want to come by the clinic. The atmosphere of the bar would be a chance to get to say hello to people on a less medical level. She could finally have a normal conversation with Sam not at her bedside. No medical emergencies to worry about. Now that she was thinking on it more, she finally allowed herself to get a little more excited about the birthday party, and it showed in her features.

Cleo couldn't help but smile a little as Oliver already went off advertising Max's bakery to the new girl. It wasn't a suprise, she was sure the bakery was Oliver's favourite favourite place in the whole village and she had to admit she was a fan of the place too. Store bought cookies couldn't compare to when Evelyn would bring back cookies from the bakery for Cleo after finishing up in the town hall on a Thursday. She wasn't sure when it had became a habit exactly but it had been going on for a while.

Setting up the food was for the most part finished but when Sila had walked away from Cleo's petting to join her owner, Cleo had turned her attention back to rearranging the last few bits as Oliver and Lila had stepped away to keep talking, about what she couldn't quite hear, but the commotion with Mason and the others was enough to grab part of her attention so trying to listen in harder didn't cross her mind.

Moments later Oliver had appeared next to her to grab some stuff near her, blinking once she shuffled ever so slightly to make more room for him to work, her expression questioning as he filled the lunchbox up. Of course he wasnt long in letting her know the situation. "Already?" She asked in a soft tone as she looked over her shoulders rat the girl getting ready to leave. Huh. What a shame she had to miss out. At least she'd get some food to take with her. "See you later Lila" she called back to the girl with a polite wave before Oliver had returned to girl, lunchbox in hand.

He had left just in time to miss Mason's picnic invitation go south, bit Cleo could only watch with slightly raised brows as he seemed to implode over Zack having other plans. Hoo boy.... It happened a little to fast for her to get over there to intervene unfortunately. So here he was trudging back to the picnic spot with his face as red as a tomato. Her mouth opened to speak first but Oliver was already back and at his side asking what happened. "He crashed and burned hard because Zack is too busy to join us" she answered without any sugar coating as she sat back a little, pulling her sketchbook back into her lap. She contemplated letting her currently embarrassed friend doodle or something in it to distract him but then she supposed that would be something to calm her down in particular. She wasn't sure if it would help him.

"Don't take it too personally Mason, older kids are always busy with their own stuff" she said with a calm tone, if her cousins were anything to go by then that wasnt anything new. She left it at that, she was sure he knew he goofed up judging by his reaction, he didn't need her to tell him that. "Let's just enjoy what's here before it gets too cold." She then added as she patted the ground next to herself as if inviting the two to sit down already.

Xander Nakamura~Alcohol Savant~The Bar-ista

Xander began jotting down the orders onto a piece of scratch paper as they came hurling at him. It was going to be four Dark and Stormies, a Blue Hawaiian, and 4 of whatever Allie was having. He assumed Allie was short for Alejandro and not Alessia, but he could have been wrong. Alessia ordered a Blue Hawaiian after Kana ordered; so unless Kana was psychic, which with her eccentric behavior wouldn't be a stretch to believe, Nakamura was going to assume she wanted what Alejandro was having. Now, if he could only recall what the tanned man wanted, he'd be able to serve four more of them. "What was it?" Xander murmured, tapping his gloved hand to his chin, "oh, I think it was Drink." Of course, Drink wasn't just some generic name for an alcoholic beverage. Have you ever heard in a movie someone ask the bartender, "Hey, get me a drink," with no other context? Or, have you ever read in a book, "They grabbed a drink from the bartender?" Well, that customer wasn't being obnoxious or boring. No, if anything, they ordered the most exciting beverage on the menu. It was always changing. Having set up a little dartboard with various alcoholic drink pictures in the storage room, everyday Xander would throw a dart at the board and make that the Drink of the day. Yep, that's exactly what Drink was. It was just a random alcohol from his extensive collection at a flat price. Some days, Drink cost more than it was worth, and sometimes it cost less than what it was worth: a financial gamble. Today's Drink was- well that would ruin the surprise if it was revealed. People would just have to guess what Drink was when they tasted it. Who knows if they guessed right, he'd have a special prize prepared for them. Of course, Xander's little game was never publicly announced because he enjoyed the faces his customers made when the Drink they ordered was different from the day before. "Four Drinks coming up," Xander responded to Kana, preparing their glasses. Afterwards, he'd prepare and serve the Blue Hawaiian and Dark and Stormies. Somewhere along the way, he got the glasses ready for Elliot's whiskey that he overheard he wanted. Wiping the sweat off his brow, he was able to get all the beverages out in a timely manner.

Ren sat by himself waiting for the person of the show, but he hoped they would show up soon. However it would seem that he has some people seeking his attention. Well it was inevitable with suit he was wearing, though it helped when he had to get past the crowds at work

The man who told him to wait, returned with a woman behind him. It was the same girl he helped with cleaning the clinic room as well as when he registered himself with the local clinic. He raised an eyebrow for a second, unsure if this was to spark a conversation or to get hooked up. The man not missing a beat when he stopped walking began explaining that the girl was Amelia and she was a master at Karate. Then introduced Ren as the bodyguard to a royal family.

"I beg your Pardon, Bodyguard? I have never worked as a bodyguard before. You must have me mistaken... Oh it was a joke wasn't it."

Ren noticed that a group of people entered the bar very loudly before he returned his attention to the Duo before him.

"Well it is nice seeing you again Amelia."

(Emilia post will come later maybe.)

Although he felt a little bad for throwing the two together, only for a very brief moment, Max was more so relieved that they happened to have previously met and his little introduction didn’t fall completely flat. Having always disliked the overly formal meetings and the rigid responses he abided by as a boy, he wanted to have a little fun this time around. Which he was, however he was fairly certain the awkwardness, for the other two, was about the same and it had just dawned on him what else this might look like. Well he was innocent of that thing this time, and he wouldn’t do it anyways in case Ren was actually taken. Which, if Max’s nearly three years in the village are any indication, was maybe not a problem for two simple reasons: Ren was young, and he was living in Kore. Now, that might be a generalization but it was also the facts of life. Just a look around the room was all the proof he needed. That being said, he still wasn't planning anything since trying to set up somebody he only recently met would also be very weird.

Hearing his lies were lies was not a surprise yet Max still feigned it, giving a not so innocent, “Ohh?” That carried over into faux contemplation as he began tapping a finger against his lower lip while absently muttering, “Wonder who I mistook you two for…”

Mere seconds later Kana made her very Kana like entrance, something that still managed to occasionally startle the baker. She didn’t get him this time, not seriously that is, he still felt his body tighten. Despite that Max was happy just because he wasn’t caught while wondering how a town full of unattached, incredibly attractive people comes to be. Being forcibly yanked out of that very deep rabbit hole, that coincidentally ignores how he doesn’t exactly go against the grain, would have got him. In the back of his mind he recalled that Thomas was actually present and would have gladly caught today’s episode of ‘The Suffering of Tommy’ had a peculiar little sound not stolen his attention.

Being fairly certain he didn’t make the sound the list of suspects wasn’t very long. Almost absurdly the baker first glanced at the seated giant very consciously hoping for that divine jewel. Sadly that was not the case unless Ren had a champion’s poker face. That actually disappointed the baker more than he expected it to. Next peaking out the corner of his eye Max noticed how Amelia’s freckled cheeks started to brighten and instantly knew the case was solved. Immediately a chuckle began building though Max was just able to turn his head and hold back the mirth welling inside.

Might as well be nice and save Amelia some extra embarrassment.

After composing himself Max dropped the earlier act altogether and said in his usual amiable way, “Well at least I didn't throw together two complete strangers. I would say ‘What are the odds?’ but they’re pretty high in a village as small as this. Speaking of, how has Kore treated you so far, Ren?” Having already been sifting through his mental files he decided while he just happened to be on the subject that it was time for an update. Without missing a beat he switched to Amelia, “And I hope the past year was good to you as well ‘Melia, even with Kana’s big entrances.”

Or not.

Kei.jpgBusy, busy, busy. That was what a lot of the day was for Kei. A lot of yesterday was paperwork and packing. Mostly, it was paperwork. He knew there was going to be a lot of it for buying not just one, but two businesses. He wouldn’t have taken on the challenge if he didn’t feel like he could handle it.

Upon arriving to Kore in the morning of Spring 11th, he sat at a desk in his new place, in the middle of what would soon be the living room, boxes strewn everywhere. He didn’t have time to unpack life stuff. Right now, he needed to focus on business. Looking through the numbers of both Kore’s cafe and Dream Drop, he questioned why there were two similar businesses so close to one another. Luckily, he could just as easily close one up, and leave the other open.

The decision was an easy one. Dream Drop was going to stay open. It had a name, a gimmick, and it was right up by the beach. The cafe was nameless and had… one employee? He would need to contact that singular employee to see if they’d be willing to switch to Dream Drop.

This process wasn’t going to be like a light switch. As much as he’d like to handle everything in one day, that just wasn’t realistic for most other people. He also still needed to contact Alessia. She wouldn’t know he’s in town, and he was hoping to surprise her.

Time flew by, and before he knew it, it was getting late. He would dedicate tomorrow to contacting the cafe employee. Trying to make a house or phone call anytime past 5 pm seemed weird.

Standing up from his desk, he stretched, then checked the time. He could probably run over to the bar and contact Alessia when he got there. Granted, he could just call from his home, but he wanted to get out and explore the area a little also. If he contacted Alessia now, he just knew he’d probably be pulled into a whirlwind of activities that he just wasn’t quite ready for.

Eeeeh… He couldn’t just do that to one of his best friends however. After tearing clothes from a box, he finally found something he could settle with wearing out in public. It was Spring, and approaching evening, so he figured a jacket would be a smart idea. He threw on the white tee and the gray jacket that he found. He figured the jeans he was already wearing would be fine.

Pulling out his cell, he threw a quick text to Alessia as he stepped outside of his house, making sure it was locked:

Me:
Alessia, hey, how’re you doing?!
😺

Snapping his phone shut, he started walking through the roads. He had a little bit of knowledge about the layout of businesses in the area, as it was part of the research for buying both the cafe and Dream Drop, so finding his desired location wouldn’t be difficult.

Soon, he reached the bar, which sounded quite lively despite it being a Wednesday night, and not a weekend.

Huh.

Taking his eyes off of Elliot, Isaiah took a moment to scan his eyes around the room. There was definitely more people here than there was when he had first walked in. He recognized a few faces, but the rest a couldn't quite put a finger on. Given the fact that it had been years since he had last seen any of them, it wasn't much of a surprise that he didn't recognize them since everyone had pretty much grown and didn't look that same as the did as a kid. That and the fact that he didn't really keep in contact with some of the people here, not because he didn't want to, but because he never really used to texting or calling people. Much less sending letters. His sister was far better at somehow keeping up with those things than he was, even when they were both in school and had their schedules busy with after school activities. Isaiah did remember Asuka calling him an old man because he didn't use his phone much other than watching swimming videos and occasionally texting his friends if they texted him first. Being on the swimming team in both middle and high school had preoccupied a majority his time.

His middle school didn't technically have a team at the school, so he had to join one off site. He had tons of fun though and met a lot of interesting people who ended up going to the same high school as him afterwards. He made a lot of friends that he still kept in contact with, which he has definitely gotten better at since he was a kid. Melody was someone in particular that he still talked to on occasion or whenever he got the chance. They had met in middle school and were quick to become friends with how talkative Isaiah was and still is. She was a little bit on the quiet side, but still very outspoken when around him and their other friends. He remembers her rambling on about being a chef and becoming the greatest chef the world has ever seen. She was definitely very animated when she talked about the things she enjoyed and it was always cute to watch. Though she did kind of mellow out in high school and took a down a couple notches, becoming the more level headed friend of the group. She did unfortunately end up moving away in their junior year to a different town, but they had still talked most of the time.

Isaiah wondered what she was up to these days, he hadn't talked to her in a few weeks. He'd probably talk to her tomorrow or try to later on tonight after leaving the bar if she wasn't asleep. Turning back towards Elliot, he was pleasantly greeted with a flushed face and he couldn't help but to chuckle. Even after all these years, he still got flustered by Isaiah's special nickname for him. After all these years, it still felt relatively comfortable to talk to him as it did back then. Nothing felt much different to him other than the fact that they were much older than they had been when they had met and that Elliot had gotten even cuter (if that was even possible).
"Right, right sorry Eli." Isaiah laughed, picking up his own menu to take a look since he wasn't too sure what kind of drink he was getting. A few of the drinks looked interesting to him, but nothing really stood out to him. "Might get a shot of vodka or a long island iced tea, not sure yet."

Isaiah swiveled around at the sound of his name and Elliot's name, surprised to see Evelyn standing before them. "Hey Eve." He greeted, a grin coming on to his face. "I didn't get here all that long ago and was really only chatting with Eli for a couple minutes."

She laughed wholeheartedly as Summer said she was worried about being bored. She stopped her laughter she heard Summer explain that she was the one to drop Emily off at the inn. She smacked her fist into her palm with a little “ah!” sound. No wonder the poor girl had been left with such a surprise morning that day. The inn was Summer’s second home practically. She could remember the days she’d come by to find the elder girl playing cards against her Uncle Claude, on more than one occasion Her uncle attempted to drag her in as well with the two girls being so close in age.

“That makes so much more sense now. I was wondering why you found yourself at Glazier Inn but if it was Summer than it was practically expected. You see Summer here used to Run circles around poor fools trying to get a quick buck. My uncle Claude was always a fan of gambles and he always called Summer a Chip of the ol block. You know if she’d asked I’m pretty sure Uncle would have given her a room free of charge saying that his Protege shouldn’t bother with rent.”

She took another swig of her blue Hawaiian. She stabbed the pineapple deeper into the drink so it could absorb all the alcoholic sweetness. She got a text message with the sweet sounds of Verdanturf town as the alert. She reached down to pull out her phone seeing that it was Kei she brightened up quickly. She started typing wildly before deleting it each time.

    Kei how have...
    RUDE where’ve you…
I found this really cool sword…
    Hey…

Instead of her struggle with the phone she decided it would be best to just call him. She looked up to Summer and Emily. She downed the last of her glass.

“One of my closest friends just texted me. I feel like pranking him since it’s been a bit do you want to”

But before she could ask she heard the bar doors open and out of habit looked back. Kei, kei was standing in the doorway. She shot up and shouted across the bar.

    “Kei???”

Slinking through the Bar | CS

Kei1.jpgHaving peeked at his phone during his walk, he could see the little bubble that signified that Alessia must have been working on a response. Stuffing his phone back in his pocket, he figured once he gets settled in the bar is when he would check to see what she said. That is… if he could get settled. The sound from outside signified more than a dead bar.

Stepping inside, he cast his dark gaze across the room. There were quite a few people. On a Wednesday night. He could only imagine what a weekend would look like. Did he move to a party town without realizing it?

A shout of what sounded like his name caught his attention, and he looked. Across the room was Alessia, looking absolutely shocked. A goofy grin etched across his face. So much for surprising her the way he wanted to. This worked too.

He slinked his way carefully around people, doing his best not to bump into anyone. He swept Alessia into a huge hug, “Al!” He released her so she could breath, cause to be honest, he wasn’t watching how hard he hugged her. It had been so long since he’d seen her last, after all.

Surprise!” He was surprised himself, seeing Alessia at a bar on this day, but looking at her attire, it seemed to be for a reason.

"Oh, this is the place you told so many stories about, now that I think about it I should have figured that out when I got used to the place. Hehe sorry I would have told you if I had time to leave a note, but unfortunately, I just happen to magically be on an out of town task the day they give you the boot, luckily for me Mr. Garryson still owed me a favor. You mean the one you gambled off of him. The same. So I had him bring you here instead." Summer would get a bit of annoyed expression upon hearing her old nickname. "ugh please don't remind me I've heard that name so often it started to follow me outside of Core. You don't like it, it sounds like something you would like?" both girls would take a sip out of there drink. "It's just too common of a prase I want to hear something more catchy you know?" And with that summer would gulp down the rest of her first drink. "Hmm is the drink to your liking kido? Oh right um yes it's just a bit different from what I'm used too." Emily slowly drinks the drink down until it was finished. " 'hiccup!' I feel funny. Oh, that's right you haven't had that many drinks before have you?" Emily's face starts to turn red as she picks up her second drink "Is this normal? Only for newcomers, you get used to it. If you say so 'hiccup!'" Summer lets out a bit of a giggle watching her as she turns her attention back to Alessa "Oh a prink you say let me see what do you have in mind?" Then out of nowhere, some walked in that Alessa recognized. "Oh whos this your boyfriend?" she giggles whispering those words into her ear. She then looks up at the stranger "Well don't be stranger you handsome dog sit down order something drinks are on me!"

She had not missed the Max's reaction to her brief (and her own opinion, embarrassing) fright. Of course he had the good manners to turn away to cover up the amusement he found in it but that did not mean she didn't notice the action and what it probably mean, which only added to the pink on her cheeks, a pink that her hands were now raising to cool it down. Luckily it did not take long

She felt her brows raise a little as Ren seemed to completely miss the joke for the first few seconds, not helping the soft laugh that came from her when he quickly realised Max was just...being Max and that it was a joke. She guessed she couldn't blame him fully, sometimes jokes went over her head for the first few moments too.

While Max went ahead to question Ren on his time here, Amelia remained silent, only nodding when already knowing eachother was mentioned. Well, they didn't really know eachother still. Not enough to remember names until this point really... on her end anyways, remembering names and such was not exactly priority to her during the flower festival incident. Which reminded her. The birthday girl still hadn't arrived though she supposed it was still a little early...

While Amelia was once again lost in her own thoughts, Max had turned his questioning back to her, she blinked a few times "Oh! Well I don't think I'll ever get used to Kana's big entrances..." she admitted with a slightly sheepish laugh "But yes, this year had been good to me. Kore has certainly grown on me a lot" she said as tilted her head slightly, a truthful statement even if her constant state of awkward seemed to say otherwise. A lot of the locals were much more laid back as she could ever be and it showed in the aura of the whole village but she didn't feel as though she could uproot a second time after coming here. At least not anytime soon. "I hope you can settle in here well too, Ren!" She then added. Wanting to make sure Max's attempt to strike conversation between her and the new neighbor wasn't going to waste, though it did make her briefly wonder why her of all people in this bar? Most likely just a pick at random because she was not talking already but still. There was probably a entire list of people more suited to talk and make someone feel more welcome here, too bad for Ren she guessed...

Once both of her friends had greeted her she went back on her previous deciding, excitedly rushing over and giving each of them a hug "It's so good to see you both!" She chirped as she stepped back "And at the same time too" she added as she clasped her hands together.

Sure, the two were closer to Pricilla in age than Evelyn herself but she didn't really notice too much most of the time. After going to the city for university, she had managed to bump into both on different occasions and kept in touch while there. Having people who were pretty much reminders of home was definitely comforting to her and something she needed during her time there. She owed them for that even if they didn't realise. "I can't believe I missed both of you arriving back here! Work really sucked me in I guess." she said with a slight shrug.

Her gaze briefly snapped over to across the bar to spot Kana. Just as she predicted Kana was already deep into conversation with poor Thomas being her targets. Eve could handle Kana's energy just fine but she wasn't sure she could say the same for the librarian. Though she would decide against saving him, maybe a shake up from being in Kana's presence would be good for him since he seemed so reclusive. Besides, she had some old friends to catch up with while Kana got drinks! With that thought in mind her attention shifted again "Oh! Did Asuka come with you too?" She asked as her gaze turned to Isaiah. "I'd love to catch up with her too sometime!" she said with a bright smile.

She hardly had time to react to the epic strangeness that she would see Kei again as he casually accidentally crashed a birthday party but she couldn’t help but giggle with earnest laughter as she was brought into a sweeping hug. Her dress was ruffled from it but she hardly cared as her braid whipped around. So many old faces were showing up, she was half worried she was the one that wound up going unconscious. Still the delight was real and as she was released she went back in for another hug.

“Surprise my ass huh? You jerk, geez weren’t you last in like Spain or some shit-”

She felt her face go red as Summer asked if they were dating. She let go of the hug abruptly. With a fast shake of her hand she looked back to Summer.

“You tease! This is Kei, my best friend. I know damn well you’ve heard about him before in my stories.- Kei This is Summer, the troublesome terror apprentice of my Uncles. And the adorable cutie that has already had too much to drink there is Emily. We’ve basically adopted her into the family as well since Hunter is adamant upon protecting his new baby sister. I’m telling you that boy is always salty that he never got a younger sibling.”

She paid a quick glance around the bar. She tried to stealthily look to Max but whipped her head back around anytime he even looked like he might look this way. What was she doing? Confidence! Geez she was starting to act like Hunter, she didn’t understand why she was suddenly flustered.

“Anyways, I may already have someone in my sights. But uh, I’m not so much in their sights. Emily what about you? Anyone catch your eye? You’ve been here about six months now right?”

She leaned on Kei's side not wanting to give up the contact that she'd been missing for years, texts and such just weren't enough long term.
