Meira bit her lip as Frostfire leaped away. The plans must have changed beyond her knowledge. That was the only explanation for her appearance, flameless as it may have been. She turned to the veteran, now smiling confidently. "All of it is thanks to Her Highness. She's already constructed a plan to turn the tides of war." Meira glanced back at the towering palace. "She's bound to be queen after this." She withheld the frown as she thought of Frostfire; her tone was notably directed with some intent at Meira, likely because he explained things poorly. "Now, you'll have to excuse—" The beastwoman was cut off by a blaring announcement from afar. She came to recognize the voice as the flying construct who held her above the city. "NOXCO, huh?" she muttered, leaving a mental note for herself.
She politely nodded to the veteran before jumping after Frostfire. She awkwardly waved as she neared, eyeing the massive emblem she engraved on the wall. With a nervous smile, she cleared her throat. "I'm sorry," she began. "What Athena did was out of line and against our standards; The Constant was very unhappy when he learned of the incident." She stepped beside Frostfire, staring lost into the sky. "Truly, it's strange... your fire magic shouldn't have gone away like that," she remarked, though not giving too much thought on the matter. Meira always felt anxious around Nortestra's living myth; there was something about standing next to a heroic figure of genuine virtue, knowing well that she herself was far from an innocent bystander.
Meira sighed, deciding to pry on the details of this sudden change in plans. "I assume The Constant explained almost everything to you? About me, Meira, how I saved your life, and about the Coelacanth?" She spoke in an unusual, hushed tone, as if concerned for possible eavesdroppers. Her gleeful look had morphed to a more serious, cautious countenance... which quickly fell apart in a quieter, uneasy sigh. "Ah, I'm so unprepared for this... You see, he told me he'd keep me updated, but here you are... Honestly, what's that guy's alternative plan, sending you out so early? Or is it that Mikhail and Rama know, and I'm too low a rank for that knowledge?" She ran a hand over her face, realizing how much she went on rambling. At this point, she just wanted to get back to Naia, but work was work. "So, what's the plan, Felicia?"
