Pascal Corbin && Aki

The other's agreement was aggressive, but it was an agreement nonetheless. Pascal let out a sigh of relief. He wouldn't have needed to turn against one of his own, at least not tonight. The comment about Chikage's angry demeanor caused his brow to furrow slightly. If they were younger, the blond would have certainly had something to say to that, and he may even have argued against it in the present day if they weren't in such a dire situation.

"Don't worry about Chikage," Pascal assured. "I'll talk to him." He assumed the Elder would send some more Tigers to do the job if the two came back empty-handed, so he decided to try and nip this in the bud. Before that though, he turned to Aki, who seemed somewhat relieved also, as well as still confused. He gave the child a reassuring smile before pulling out his phone.

Chikage was easy enough to talk to from it, with Pascal having his number saved on speed dial, but for the sake of keeping things calm in the room he decided to just text him instead. "Why do you want us to kidnap a CHILD?!" he typed, "are we getting involved in human trafficking or something?!" His eyes hovered over the text for a moment before he pressed send. Chikage had changed since when they were children, but kidnapping children was certainly too much for him... right?

Random Ramshackle Abode [Reference]

Contrary to the reference image, the ramshackle building is under construction--though, the construction has temporarily been halted for personal reasons by the new owner of the property. One of the front windows has been shattered. Where another road can be seen in the image beside the building, this is actually the property's parking lot in the story. There is a long chain connecting two concrete posts that's blocking the entrance to the said parking lot in order to keep people from loitering for the time being until the business is up and running. The parking lot is littered with different construction equipment.

Since he's shirtless, the hand-shaped scar on Eustass' right hip can be seen. By appearance, it's like a bruise that never fades, but upon closer inspection the skin is hard and cracked, dry and rough to the touch.

135.jpgWhen the towering man doesn't answer Eustass' question--instead cocking his attention to one of the other goons whispering something into his ear--Eustass' features twist into an ugly scowl, and he drops his arm, letting the blade of his saw grind across the floor.

His voice trembles with murderous rage, "Hey, hey, heeeeeeeeeeeey!" growing louder, "I'm tttalkin' t' youuuuUUUUUU!"

Then at the same time that the steaming brute lunges toward Eustass, Eustass, too, sprints forward, ducking under the spiraling whips of heat and sliding between Armond's legs, already sweating.

Within the blink of an eye, Eustass is in the air behind Armond--back arched and holding his crowbar over his own head with two hands, ready to swing down and chop the bigger one's skull in half. However, Armond whips around, and all that's heard is the sharp clang of metal on metal as Armond uses his bat to swat Eustass' weapon out of his hands.

It flies across the room, spiraling to an eventual halt on the ground--then, before Eustass can react, all of the steam in the room suddenly absorbs into Armond, his muscles bulging bigger, and he sends a heavy left-handed punch right across Eustass' jaw, causing him to twist and stagger a few feet.

Bells ring. His skin screams, threatening to blister later.

Armond leaves him no chance to regain his composure before he's on him again, lunging as the same whips of steam rush out like before, slamming into Eustass' back like solid matter.

The boy ragdolls forward, rolling across the floor until he's lying face-first beside his crowbar.

Behind Armond, his pathetic goons rejoice, sounding to Eustass like a flock of useless geese as he gets sluggishly to his feet, eliciting from Armond an amused guffaw. "Oh, so you can still stand? A tiny shit like you?"

"Heh-" Eustass chokes, holding his crowbar in his right hand, wiping some sweat from his brow with his left. "You ever done hard drugs, you'd know it don't take much to get fucked up!" On that note, the weapon flies from his grip, straight for Armond, and Eustass chases it. Though, Armond simply swats the thing away.

Despite his previous disorientation, Eustass is quick, dodging and weaving around the would-be devastating attacks if only they could land, giving the image of Armond trying to swat an annoying fly buzzing about his person.

They seem to move through the room like wild animals, stepping around each other--Armond swinging his bat; Eustass striking the occasionally successful thrust of his hands onto Armond, leaving his body scattered with rough patches of corroded skin--until Armond's bat is suddenly halted within the strained grip of Eustass' two hands, and the whole top-half of it falls off.

Armond jumps back then. As does Eustass.

However, they engage again before long, racing to see who reaches who first, but meeting in the middle with Armond jutting his now jagged-tip baseball bat forward like a spear, which Eustass barely dodges by bending around it.

Dripping with sweat, heart pounding and palpitating like a band of poorly synchronized conga drums, the smaller boy's vision blurs. It's too hot.

In that second, Armond notices Eustass' glazed eyes, smirking. "A kid like you should stay-" he sends him abruptly flying to the left with a right-legged roundhouse kick, "-in his own lane," and Eustass smashes into the table where Yelena's sits, dizzy and noticeably worn.

38.jpgAt the mention of an underground fight club, Silva's eyes sparkle with intrigue behind his goggles.

His plans for the day involved relaxing at home and playing video games, but this is so much better.

"Aaahahaha~! Chicaaa! You've no need to worry a bout me! Silva is always preparado!" He folds his arms, leaning back with his torso--a wide stance. "For now, we wait for Jacko an' Smalls since I told Jacko to meet at mi casa. I pick them for de thing..." He pauses, trying to remember what Nionet had named the mission, "Ah~!" snapping a finger, "Mission witness.. proteccion, yes?"

"I figure Jacko know what to do... I only pick Smalls.. so she can tell me my fortune when she get here." Silva bounces on his toes now, eagerly awaiting the excitement to come later on, playing out action-packed scenarios in his head of different feats to attempt with his Jinx.

He still neglects the workings of Cordelia's clairvoyance, determined that she can conjure up whatever visions she wants, whenever she wants, when, in reality, they come to her on their own with little to no warning or remorse for what she might see.

Whenever he runs into her around the Temple, it's not often he goes without stopping her to test her foresight, such as asking her what side the coin in his pocket is going to land on when he flips it, or who the next person to round the corner is going to be.

Just then, Silva realizes that he didn't grab his sabre claws from his closet, and so he flails his hands through the air all of the sudden and takes off into the open garage, "I FORGOOOT!" Finding his belt, he dons it and secures the blades in place before returning to Nionet, this time looking down at his phone on which he locates the video he'd taken during his fight with Yelena Zaytseva.

"You want to see what 'appen?" Though he asks, he's already shoving the screen in the Elder's face with a wide smile behind his mask.

In the video, one can see Yelena cross the length of the rooftop of the building ahead, then Silva creeping up behind her in a rather comical fashion, his pixels glistening around him. After he looks to the camera, showing a peace sign, he wraps his arms around the woman and jumps from the building, thus beginning a head-first descent to the concrete below. Somehow, the camera's eye follows them--a result of Silva's telekinesis controlling the pixel-crafted case around his phone. Perhaps had he been more focused on his fight than recording, he'd have not been bested the way he was.

Back to the video, Yelena manages to use her Jinx to escape Silva's grasp, and the two twirl through the air until Yelena is above Silva with a hand on his chest. The air surrounding them is then disturbed by a rippling shimmer, and one can see as Silva's form abruptly blurs, smashing hard into the solid earth as a cloud of pixels race behind him.

All the while the video plays, Silva watches Nionet's reaction, "You like?"

Akira [Inari] ( Nobody Special Nobody Special )

~ Curiosity Will Kill The Cat ~
Alone Again || Lucidity’s CS File

An old friend huh? Well she was smart to get out then. As she looked around she wondered if this old friend had managed to split before the tsunami hit. She pushed off the railing and sighed as she stretched, throwing her arms up. She twirled to Akira again as he began to speak, missing the brief drop of his smile entirely. She followed Akira down the steps. Every glance she got gave her another weird mix of glee and annoyance all mixed up in one. As she reached the bottom she jogged to his side letting her footsteps match with his.

As Akira spoke she couldn’t help but stare, just a moment too longer than what most considered polite. Visiting the Revenants HQ? He was that confident? Her scythe had been left behind. Perhaps it would have been smarter to take it but she hadn’t really been expecting how fast their date would start. Realistically it was probably a terrible idea to go poking their nose into the HQ without at least some backup. While she had good faith Akira could get them out she had less faith she’d get the chance to escape if shit hit the fan.

Still, when would this opportunity come again?

A smile slowly grew on her face. When indeed…

“Well now, got that much trust in me huh? Good thing a little walk never hurt anyone. Still, most wouldn’t be so quick to invade another gang’s HQ."

She started to chuckle at the idea finding herself passing his strides. It'd be different if they were sent on negotiations, they were both good in that department after all. Exploring to satify one's own curiosity was generally frowned upon. Well if you lived through it. She still wasn't sure that kid was gonna live through the raid on Chikage's shit. She paused as she realized she had zero idea where she was headed.

"Wait… It’s been awhile? Did a mission bring ya there? Why didn’t you just plant one of your waypoints then?”

She was genuinely interested in the story. She turned to face him with a little tilt of her head. Her assignments never took her far from the district. Generally, the Tigers weren't aiming for the other gangs to know this appearance of hers. Still, she was a great negotiator. When it came down to it a borrowed body worked just fine.

"You gotta bring me along next time 'kay."

_____________________________________________________________________________________________________
36.jpgHearing Jaiden tell his sour tale of last night's endeavors, Malik snickers on a chicken tender, chewing slowly.

"Sounds about right."

It's relieving to hear that Gree hasn't announced some pathetic means for vengeance upon him for indirectly getting Misa killed--though, he's also convinced himself that Misa is an adult, and that her decision to get involved with him was her own, so if Gree wants to punish someone, it should be Misa.

If anything, what he managed was impressive--Elder's assumed dead sister or not. It's not every day that five-hundred and forty-thousand dollars falls out of a suitcase and into one's hands.

"Anyway, here's the deal," Jaiden starts, and Malik willfully zones him out, allowing the gentle crunch of fried chicken tenders to deafen his ears as he stares absently across the table at Vicky. The way her hair frames her face is quite pleasing to the eyes, especially these jaded rubies that dread being open per his chronic insomnia.

In the back of his mind, he wonders how he'll pay back the dreaded La'Dabella. Going off the radar is also an option, but somehow he imagines he'll be found.

"Make it seem like?" Vicky's voice drips like honey between the void that separates Malik's thoughts from reality, sucking him back into the conversation and triggering an upward twitch of his eyebrow. "Seem nothing, we are interesting and worth talking to," she says, proceeding to further discuss the planned process of their assignment, pulling a small metal case from her jacket that she places on the table, tapping it then with two fingers.

Malik's eyes narrow on it--kleptomaniac senses tingling.

He brushes it off for now, though, and instead bites into another chicken tender before saying with a full mouth, "Don't forget about the gun. Someone's gotta replace the gun. That and how do you think we're gonna convince this Deelo guy of the validity of the drugs? Someone's gonna have to sell it by popping one of them bad-boys in their mouth and puttin' on their acting face since the message says the drug-lord, himself, doesn't partake." Malik perks up, "Oh, but we've got an inside guy, too. It'll be more convincing if he eats the tic tac."

"Yep, easy job. Shouldn't be any way to fuck it up, even for a rookie."
Hector continued listening as he drove around the parking lot, past the other cars, which he presumed belonged to Facility staff. He turned the corner down the side of the building, which was lit only by the glow from the facility's windows. He nodded in acceptance of Minos's answer as he parked the car across a few parking spots at a horizontal angle, not wanting anyone else to park near them.
"I get what you mean, yeah. I don't care much for New Years, so. I didn't really do much special. No reason not to be out here today."
He unbuckled his seat belt and stretched his arms as he thought about Minos's last statement. He already thought the mission was a dumb one for him to go on, but he had just assumed it was something generic and dull they were taking and didn't properly consider the specifics.
"You know, I really don't know. Elder didn't tell me, so I figure it's some drugs or something. I don't know what goes on in this place, never been here before. Hope it's something worthwhile though, I mean, why are we both here to do this if it ain't? Come on, let's get a move on."

Hector barks the last order as if it was Minos rambling, and not himself, and he opens the car door, using his foot to swing it open all the way as he steps out. He slams it behind him, the sound echoing through the quiet parking lot. After muttering under his breath about the warm weather, he marches towards the main entrance, instructing the rookie on the way,
"Should be quiet at this time. The receptionist is in on it. She'll escort us."

The automatic doors spring open as Hector steps into the bright, cheerful reception area. The place was clean and the walls around the adjoined waiting room were adorned with informational posters reading things such as "Understanding Demanding Jinxes in your child" and "Coping methods for dangerous Jinxes." It didn't look like a place that would deal in anything illegal, and Hector looked around intently before approaching the receptionist, who was waiting with a broad smile.
"Delivery." Hector knew when not to mince his words, and right now, he just wanted to get in and out.
The receptionist nodded curtly as she stepped out from behind her desk, beckoning the two Revenants as she led them through the corridors of the Facility.
"Delivery? That's a weird thing you're calling this." The receptionist sneered as she continued through the corridors with enough confidence as not to draw any suspicion from passing-by doctors and nurses, with the Revenants not far behind.
"Well that's what it is, ain't it?" Hector asked. He couldn't help but feel concerned as he looked around the facility, the sounds of children occasionally filled the air whenever they passed an open room.
"Guess you wanna keep things impersonal, I see." The receptionist replied without looking at him, turning the corner to a more secluded hallway of the facility.

Hector turned to Minos, unable to hide his slightly confused expression from the rookie. He leaned in close as they walked, and said in a hushed, serious tone, "I don't know what we're being led to, but you stick with me, alright?"
The receptionist stopped beside a door, "Ok boys, your delivery is in there. Be careful with him, he's here for a reason and-"
"What?" Hector interrupted, tired of playing a guessing game in his mind of what they were here to take.
"The kid. The one you've been sent for, he's in there. The back exit is that way," the receptionist gestured down some corridors as she starts to walk away from them, "I'm sure you know what you're meant to do now. Be quick."

"Well," he thought about his next words for a moment, his hand resting on the doorknob, not yet turning it, "damn it. This is what we're here for? We gotta do it, so let's get it over with. I'm sure there's a reasonable explanation.."
Pushing any doubts aside, Hector turned the doorknob and carefully opened the door enough to let himself and Minos look in. He stifled a swear as he looked upon the scene. A child was there, which would've made sense if not for the two men accompanying him. One of them was a man Hector didn't recognize, but Alistair was someone he knew as a member of the Tigers. Walking into the room, he beckoned Minos to walk in as well as he stared the two Tigers down. With a serious tone, he spoke to them,
"I think it's time for y'all to get out of here and leave this kid alone, now." He gestured his hand toward the door. "I don't have much patience. Fuck yall here for anyway?" The last statement was directed more toward Alistair, as Hector was still unsure of the affiliation of Pascal, but he gave both a look with a clear message, "Don't fuck with us."

Unlike the reference image, Brax isn't wearing any accessories. He's covered in dust and dirt. His face is smeared with dry blood, and he appears rather beaten up.
________________________________________________________________________________________________
He's never felt like this before--so confused, hurt, and scared even.

All his life, he's lived with the mindset of a slave; someone meant to serve and help others--and through this, he imagined he'd never wrong anyone.

How naive.

One can never please everyone, especially not with the life he's chosen. Though, it started as a mere desire to contribute to the originally constructive nature of the Ruby Revenants for defending the people of the West District against the evil influence of the other gangs.

Perhaps it is punishment for yesterday when he failed to acknowledge the opposition's views by solely defending the side of the Revenants.

Then what side was he supposed to pick?

What did he do wrong?

Who did he hurt?

Brax doesn't realize it, but he's hyperventilating now, still holding tight--tighter by the second--to Bash's shirt as he clutches hard at the pain in his stomach, ready to vomit up the breakfast he ate this morning.

Such a waste.

A pressure against his right cheek nudges him back to awareness, and his breathing calms, but his grip only tightens more around Bash's clothes--the other rearing back a threatening arm to hit him in the face, unbeknownst to Brax.

"Well, even if you weren't shit, it was fun for me. See ya in hell."

However, that hit never comes, and in respect of Bash's voice, Brax looks up with weary eyes, unphased by the readied fist. Tired, he surrenders to whatever's meant to happen next, prepared for another brutal wave of pain to come--accepting his punishment.

The seconds pass, yet nothing happens.

Bash seems to be struggling--disgruntled and muttering something to himself--but Brax cannot place why, nor does he try to. His mind is numb.

Someone appears behind Bash.

Bash throws his arm forward then per his final determination, but his knuckles stop short of Brax's jaw when the anonymous frame behind him intervenes.

Apparently someone had called the cops. Perhaps Allen Stacey who was earlier visiting the gas station when Bash arrived and scared him off. Brax will thank him later.

For now, his eyes focus on the cops taking Bash away, so intently that Brax doesn't even realize he, himself, is being cuffed and lifted to his feet. The officer escorts him to the police cruiser, shuts him in the back, then Brax looks to his right to see Bash staring back at him, cuffed just the same but more resistant.

Some time later, they're sitting in separate holding cells beside each other and the officers are gone from the room. Before they left, one mentioned something about contacting a nurse for Brax to check for any underlying injuries. Bash, on the other hand, is completely unharmed--granted, a little dusty.

Sitting up straight, hands resting in his wide-legged lap, Brax stares at the floor with empty eyes, feeling lost.

Most likely, his mother won't show up when their bail is determined; though, he hates that he knows this.

He grits his teeth, closing his eyes tight as if fighting to keep his emotions at bay.

"Shit's different than when I was a kid. Everyone's fuckin' different," Vulken says, giving rise to a flat-lipped grin and narrow eyes upon the younger one's face.

"Gotta prove myself to the new Boss, right?"

Boltius nods, amused. "Uh-huh."

Then Vulken flexes his biceps and Boltius busts into a wriggling fit of laughter, coming forward to push Vulken on the shoulder, "Fuckin' stop, dawg~!" But Vulken continues his antics, "Gave me a good mission already, caught wind of a place we can use to make some quick cash."

Imaginary money rains down, and despite his effort just seconds ago to make his brother stop, Boltius joins the charade, reaching out to grab the non-existent cash, which he stuffs into his pockets whilst dancing to music that's not actually there. "Alright, alright, alright! I'm catchin' yer drift, dawg. Jumpin' right back into the swing. I get it."

"Even got someone to help me out. Y'know Anita?" Vulken starts again, and Boltius stops, arms dropping to his side as his eyebrows arch high upon his forehead.

"Anita?" The quality of his voice is riddled with disbelief, as it's not like Anita to take up any assignment. She's usually busy with her school. The assignments she does go on are ones that have been up in the air for no less than usually a few weeks.

"Goes by...Buzz, I think?"

Boltius nods, "Yeah, Buzz. That's right."

"Somethin' like that... Anyway, I'm supposed to meet her at the Base after we're done here. And since your roommate there is off limits..." Vulken leans into Boltius then, wrapping an arm around him on the question, "...Spill the beans. Think she's my type? She single? Maybe I shoulda asked that one first..."

"Bruh-"

"Ah, right. I got a house. I'll send you the address once I get your number on my phone. Draken's back, baby. Fuck yeah!!-- I mean, fuck yeah. Sorry, forgot about your roommate."

Boltius doesn't try to fight his brother's grasp--instead, laughing merrily as he shakes his head, "Daaawg, naaaaaaah, man. Anita's fine but..." He covers his face for a second, still snickering, then, "She's out of your league, dude... That chick's smart. She's fun, though, but good luck tryna pull 'er. She ain't ever been with anyone... Like... She's had a boyfriend or two, but she ain't ever... you know. So unless you're lookin' t' get serious, I'd steer clear."

Finally, the Jack relieves himself of his brother's sideways hug, taking a few steps back as he fixes his shirt. "She's got a weird Jinx, if you ask me, but it's cute. I'm into Brielle, though, so- I mean!" Fiery eyes widen all of the sudden, "That's- I just mean Brielle's more my type. I'm not like specifically into her! She's just a roommate."

In the back of his mind, Boltius wonders why it matters whether he's attracted to Brielle or not. Isn't it normal? But even so, he settles on trying to mop up his spilled tea, changing the subject in probably the most obvious way, "On the topic of gettin' shit done, I'm crossing borders today with Matsuda to beat some answers out of the Tigers. I figure since people want to go around killing people with masks on, I'll mask-up, myself, and see what's good. It's bound to get me somewhere, you know?... Speaking of, I'm supposed to be meeting Matsuda soon."

He scratches his nose, "But I guess it's not every day your missing brother shows up at your door..."

The tall slender person made the bland order of just a mere glass of water, if she could, she would have smacked her face flat on with her hand but she couldn’t refuse a customer that could help boost her business. Gritting back her annoyance that was welling up inside of her, she nodded with a rather forced smile this time before looking away from the dark-haired male who lacked even more true emotions than she did. Somehow this made her feel a little glad that she wasn’t the only person like this around but still, one could go overboard with their behaviour like him… Ugh… Why did he have to pass by her shop in the first place, there were plenty of others which would suit his taste more.

Once the bulkier male swooped in, she actually made a chuckling sound as she felt like she could get along with him from the sight of it, except well the boorish attitude he had shown before. It added to his charisma she guessed in a rather odd way. ”And another black coffee. Noted.” She responded to him, her face relaxing as he took her focus away from the lean one who didn’t seem like he had anything good inside of him she could utilize except making her boil to the brim with utter irritation; that she knew for sure.

Going to the counter where she started to prepare the rather basic order at table 13 with a blank expression plastered onto her as if her mind was somewhere completely else. Biting her bottom lip unconsciously as she skilfully prepared the coffee which she made from scratch, it was something she was known for as she absolutely hated the premade shit she got served at most places. Talk about disgusting…

Just as she turned around to get a spoon her colleague bumped into her which made some plates and glasses clash onto the floor, making a rather loud sound for the customers to here; seeing that quite some heads turned around. The blonde immediately rang out her apologies and was about to pick up the glass with her bare hands; Ye-Jin stopped her and just ushered her to the customers as she would clean it up instead. After all, the girl her shift was almost done anyway so it would’ve been more of a hassle if she did the cleaning.

Squatting down, Ye-Jin started to pick up the shards of glass that she could see with the naked eye, throwing them into the bin whenever she passed it. The black coffee was still running so table 13 had to wait for a little longer.

It had been a few weeks since Jordi had started working at Jinnie's, and he had gotten the hang of his duties fairly easily. After moving to New Oasis, he had become a model worker, dedicated and driven. It was a drastic change from how he was as royalty, but it had been what was necessary to survive. Not too long ago, the convenience store he had worked at closed down due to the manager being killed. The authorities said it was most likely a gang fight, but he hadn't heard about any such event taking place from his fellow Dragons. He was only a Rookie though, having joined about a year ago now, so he assumed he was likely not privy to all the information about the gang. Regardless, he chose to believe that his colleagues weren't out and about picking fights and causing casualties.

The brunet floated between the tables, checking on any customers who were seated as well as floating empty dishes and cups over to the sink. He had managed to master his jinx enough to perform tasks with it off to the side, yet could still only do just one along side what was in front of him. A floating sponge scrubbed the dirty dishes back to cleanliness after they had been levitated under the running water and lathered up with the nearby dish soap. Despite being fairly confident in his abilities, Jordi still glanced over every so often to make sure nothing went wrong during the washing process.

He glanced down at his hands, wondering if perhaps he should rely more on his own physical capabilities while he still had them. After he first lost feeling in his legs, there was a period of time where he regretted not running, hiking, or dancing more while he could. As he heard the sharp noise of dishes shattering though, he imagined this was an opportunity.

"I shall return momentarily," he said to his light-haired friend. His words were enunciated with a Spanish accent. He hovered over to where his boss had collided with one of the other workers, saying to Ye-Jin, "please be careful not to cut jour 'and, Madam," when he noticed her carrying the shards of a broken cup while passing her by. He pulled out a dust pan and small duster from one of the cabinets under the counter before his green eyes fell on the spill area as he repositioned his body to lay on his stomach while suspended just above the ground. While holding the dust pan in one hand, he swept up the remaining shards and pieces of the broken dishes before depositing it in the nearby trash can. After completing the clean up task, he returned to floating in an upright position and made his way back to August.

"Apologies," he said. "Nevertheless, I 'ave jet to pick up the latest issue. After losing employment at the convenience store I did not receive payment for several weeks while rent was due. Unfortunately, I 'ad to use most of my personal allowance in order to pay it. If jou would be so kind, perhaps I may borrow it once jou are finished?"

RETSUKO ICHIGO | No gang affiliation | Location: West District - Rock Java Coffee Shoppe | Interacting/Mentioned: Adder Shaley | Outfit: Sharp |

Listening intently as Adder spoke of his marital duties, Ichigo's thoughts stirred about his mind "I'm here! I really made it here and now I'm hitching a ride with the most interesting person I have ever felt! He's not even turned away by my obvious physical atrociousness. He is genuine." The usual encounter with strangers does not extend beyond simple greetings. Today, Ichigo enjoys a moment of acceptance and sheepishly replies "No bother to me. I am your guest and your schedule is most important. I am under no time table. I would be interested in learning more about the city and this tsunami you mentioned. Reaching down beside where he had been seated, Ichigo clutched his only belonging."I have no bags, just my case." Ichigo cradles a slender homemade leather case, its contents a mystery for now. Some things take time. Ichigo slips his hand into his left pocket and extracts a modest silver money clip, swiftly pulling out a five dollar bill, he placed it under his cup so not to draw much attention to the other patrons.

"I am ready. I look forward to a tour of the city if you are willing."

Butterflies of anticipation roar through Ichigo's insides.“Oh no...no..no..no..don't cry, you cannot see them!!”

A quick glance around the dojo revealed no bugs, she wondered idly just what it was he was reacting to. Her curiosity would have to wait though as the man cleared his throat and began to speak. She tilted her head as Jack spoke She hadn’t realized that the two got along that well… That poorly? It was common to not understand why Pixel did what Pixel did. Instead, she put it out of her mind and nodded as she followed Omar to the car.

The van was a grade-A transport van for sure. As Jack slid open the door she hopped in, shutting the door behind her. The van was mostly empty. Odd. She herself didn’t use her car often, and she bought it more for the plainness of it. This car was boring but it also stuck out like a sore thumb. At least it would in her district. She placed her Tonfa down at the floor of the van not wanting them to be uncomfortably at her sides.

She was taken aback at Omar’s question of how she evaluated the gang. Was she supposed to answer honestly? She had made a few friends but like it was still clear she stuck out compared to the others. Actually she hadn’t had a fit yet. Score! She was doing well with this resolution to keep an even temperament. Okay maybe the first day of the new year was too soon to tell. Plus what did points of improvement on herself mean? She was doing her best not to be upset but she wondered if he was purposely fucking with her.

“.... Uh I guess it’s good right? Not really a clear question there. What are you expecting? If you’re unsatisfied with something you say it and fix it. Where’s this coming from?”

Why were they here indeed? Vice and rookie. Sure he was no slouch but realistically he was still a rookie. If it was just a case of needing some firepower Dry Ice and Draken were probably just as good options. Maybe he was reading too much into it. A job was a job, everyone had their part.

He left the car with far less flair than his counterpart, leaving with little sound. Past the city limits meant that anything went in his books. Respect for the gangs’ tentative peace died at the city limits. With a smug grin on his face he followed behind his Vice Elder. He matched his steps in line looking up and down at the walls.

He didn’t enter a place without knowing what led where in a pinch.

Luckily the facility seemed to be well marked. At least from where he was standing. The weirdest part was what was on the labels. He knew that a front that involved children always worked rather well, hell he was his father’s front for a while, but this seemed almost too friendly. As they came up to the receptionist it seemed she was just as unfriendly as expected. Now there we go, some proof they didn’t get the wrong address.

“Gotta give it to them, they spent a lot of money on this front…”

He kept his face neutral as Hector showed him a slightly confused expression. He answered back with a shrug of his shoulders with his hands buried deep in his coat pockets. He heard the kids more clearly now. Wait should they be leaving the front? He? Just what was their assignment anyways?

“It’s still just transport, yeah? ‘Cause if it’s something else, well Black Star’s better with the evidence shit…”

He asked as Hector opened the door to the room. Huh? Their target already had people with ‘em? He raised his eyebrow and would have asked the receptionist just what game she was playing up until Hector started to motion him in. Oh they were gang members huh? His confusion melted away to a wicked sense of excitement. He pulled his claymore from his back stabbing it down into the floor. He had one hand resting to keep it straight up and another ready to flick his lighter open and bring the flames.

“Hope your answer’s a good one too. ‘Cause I’m not aboutta start the new year failing my assignments.”

40.jpg"Available and willing; what about Opal? The Junior." Chikage adjusts the leather glove of his right hand, peering down at Emelia as they travel the hall.

He offers the occasionally passing member a nod--some, a smile even.

"Opal... I will have to ask her. I believe she was injured in the recent drug parade with the Lionettis mid-January," Emelia says, brushing some hair behind her ear, sticking close to Chikage's side.

Some time ago, before Raven Sandford stuck her claws into Chikage's heart and climbed the ladder of ranks as his partner, Emelia was confident that she would be the gem on Chikage's arm after Century Lunique perished by Gregoire Tanaka's hand. She knew him during childhood when they were classmates at North District Prestige Middle School, except he became simply a story shared among students when he disappeared after the tragedy. A story that serves as a reminder of her cowardice; of that day when she chose not to approach Chikage as Grace did.

Bright greens glance to the left to see the screen of Chikage's phone in his hand, Pascal's name across the top. She's quick to avert that gaze, though, so as not to snoop despite the curiosity bubbling in her gut.

"You and Pascal. You were friends growing up?" she asks. Looking up at him, his expression appears disturbed by whatever it is he's reading.

A message from Pascal that says: "Why do you want us to kidnap a CHILD?! are we getting involved in human trafficking or something?!"

Chikage's sends a sharp, "What?" in response, then tucks the device away to answer Emelia's question, offering her a slim smile, "You could put it that way, I suppose."

"I see."

Together, they descend a long flight of stairs into the main reception hall--a wide-open space nearly void of decorations, with a high ceiling hung with three chandeliers spread out for even lighting, aided by some smaller lights mounted along the walls.

Emelia's boots knock against the marbled floor.

"How would you put it?" she asks the Elder, who slows to a halt to face her, managing the slightest hint of a smile in response, "I wouldn't waste a thought on-"

Suddenly, "CHIKAGE BABY COME DOWN HERE. I NEED TO SEE YOUR SEXY ASS!!"

Chikage's eyebrows curl together. Baring his teeth on a scowl as he recognizes the voice, he begins long-striding his way through the hall and into the foyer, wondering what in all possibilities could have possessed that scum to set foot onto his property.

Emelia follows him, wide-eyed and shook with confusion.

Gregoire is standing in front of the main entrance--Chikage directly across from him, fists at his sides, hair slightly disheveled as his shoulders rise and fall on heavy breaths. The other Tigers in the room have made a path, backs to the wall and moist with sweat, for the temperature in the room has grown suddenly tepid.

Another man, taller than Chikage, bursts into the foyer then through the archway opposite of the one Chikage had entered through, and he approaches Chikage with frantic hands, "I- I- I'm sorry, Boss! I looked into his eyes on the camera! I wouldn't have let him in, otherwise! I- I- I- swear!!"

"MOOOOVE!" Chikage bellows, tossing the man aside by the collar of his shirt.

Some of the others laugh beneath their breath as the guy stumbles to the ground and scurries away, all the while staring up at Chikage for any sign of a potential rampage.

Hearing them only fuels the Elder's rage, and so he throws a quick glare around the room, barking, "Everyone out!"

Seeing how quick the crowd is to disperse, even Emelia, there's no need for a second demand.

Now it's just Chikage and Gregoire--Gregoire of whom Chikage gazes at wildly for a quiet moment before his lips curl into a wicked smile, chin upturned as he looks down on the other. "TAAAANAKA~ For what reason have you decided to desecrate my mansion with your presence!?

"Kimi"
Sapphire Dragons |Rookie|Jinx: Explosion Enhancement
Location: East District, Kasumi's Apartment
Interacting: Kanna, Kasumi ( FabulousTrash FabulousTrash ) Tadashi ( Elenion Aura Elenion Aura )

________________________________________________________________________________

Kimiko tried her best to appear unfazed as Tadashi poked her back, even putting her own attack to a halt and letting him get some free hits in while she crossed her arms and hid her internal screams behind a triumphant face. Of course, it didn't take long before she began jerking and letting out stifled chuckles with every poke. They were at a standstill when the buzzing of the door unlocking caused both of them to straighten themselves out, standing at attention before following Kanna and Tadashi into the building. She stayed behind them, childishly leaping up to hop over two steps at once as they made their way up the stairs, a habit she'd had since she was younger.

Once they reached the door, Kanna opened it and announced herself in Japanese. This sparked a change in attitude in Kimiko, and she immediately cleared her throat as she stepped in after Tadashi. "Ojama~" She glanced around the apartment. As she expected, it was decorated fairly traditionally, and it was clear that the person living there was very proud of their culture. It made her think about herself for a moment. While she was fluent in the language, Kimiko was far from traditional. Maybe if her father was around, she'd have turned out completely different. But, did she want that?

Her train of thought was interrupted by a younger woman-- who looked very similar in appearance to Kanna-- stepped into her line of sight. She was confused for a second, but the obvious quickly dawned on her, and she cupped her cheeks in awe. "Kimiko, this is my twin sister, Kasumi. She's a senior in the Dragons." Kimi quietly gasped as she slid out of her shoes, briefly sticking her tongue out at Tadashi before putting them on the rack and putting on the slippers Kasumi provided. "I'm sorry-- I always get, like, super giddy about these kinds of things. It's dumb-- Nice to meet you, Miss Kasumi! You're really pretty." as soon as they were given the go-ahead to make themselves comfortable, she zipped over to the couch and sat down right next to Kanna, looking the white cat in her arms directly in the eyes. "Miss Kannaaaaa, I have so many questions. Do people ever mix you two up with each other? Who was born first? Do you guys ever switch places? Can you guys feel each others pain? Do you--" judging by the silence as she asked the questions, it was obvious that she was being a bit overwhelming. She smiled awkwardly as she continued to stare the cat in the eyes. "Sorry, too much, right? I don't wanna be nerdy, like someone." the awkward smile was quickly replaced by a mischievous grin as she glanced at Tadashi.

He didn't want to admit it, but Malik actually had a good point. For a moment, Jaiden thought he wasn't listening, but it was...comforting, to see that Malik was actually using his brain.

"We'll deal with the gun later. I doubt he'll have it with him now since he's a bit far from home."

Jaiden glanced over to Vice, who was still working on her fries, then looked back towards Malik.

"As long as our inside guy does his job, today's meet should be smooth and we can arrange a separate one to actually negotiate a price. He'll be home by that point since tonight is his last night in New Oasis. We can eye the gun then."

It still seemed unnecessary to go through the trouble of faking that the Serpents had a fake drug, but the other option was to basically force their target to join or die. Jaiden could only assume that wouldnt end well for them. As to why they were trying to get this dude on their side, Jaiden was clueless. He wasn't told much either regarding the subject.

Jaiden took at look at his phone. It was almost time to meet the man of the hour. Getting up from his seat, Jaiden gathered up all the trash and tossed it out, looking over to Malik and Vice, who had cheese all over her mouth.

"Better wash up before we head out. I'll wait outside."

He walked away from the table, making a stop at the bathroom to wash his hands and his mouth. Despite what people thought, Jaiden had a sense of common decency, as well as he understood that physical presentation mattered, especially if its for a first impression. Once he was done, he left the restaurant, waiting outside for Vice and Malik to join him. Jaiden kept his hands in the pockets of his jacket, toying with his knuckle dusters.

It was clear that if things went south, that was the end of their relationship with the drug lord and it would make it impossible to get near him again. The only question was whether or not he'd let the three of them walk out without a scratch. Now that Jaiden thought about it, it was a godsend that Vice was assigned to this. Out of all the Serpents, she was the best with her words.

Jaiden stared out towards the hotel. Once Vice and Malik were ready, he gestured for Vice to take the lead. After all, she was going to act as the Ace during this meet. Jaiden kept quiet as they walked over to the hotel entrance. In the back of his mind, he hoped that this would go much more smoothly than what happened last night at the library.

«я тебя уничтожу».
Yelena Zaytseva
Yelena was, for the most part, content to watch the two brutes tear each other to pieces. Although she had to admit that Eustass, to his credit, was performing quite well. Perhaps there was more to him than his manic disposition had lead to believe. Then again, like an animal, perhaps his body was moving simply on instinct. There was no strategy in that, just a cornered rat, fighting tooth-and-nail to ensure its own survival. How inelegant.

Before her eyes, the two men clashed, broke apart, then clashed again. Eustass' weapon was flung from his hands, knocked out of his grasp by Armond's cruel stroke, and Yelena's eyes tracked it as it fell nearby. Then in the next moment, Yelena noted the sudden rush of air as their surroundings became noticeably cooler and drier in the otherwise cramped, dank room. At the same time, their opponent's muscles expanded at an alarming pace. Yelena's eyes widened slightly in understanding. I see.

The blow that followed made Yelena cringe involuntarily. She couldn't believe Eustass was still in one piece after that, let alone standing. There was no denying that the young man was tough.

Armond and Eustass were at each other's throats again, exchanging wounds at an alarming rate. Steam burnt skin clashed with semi-corroded flesh. Yelena wondered if, when it was all over, there would be anything left of either of them?

Then it happened.

Yelena watched as Eustass ate the full force of the gargantuan man's kick and was sent hurtling through the air her way. He landed on the table with a clatter and the unmistakeable thud of dead weight. He was not dead, though. At least, not yet. Armond, on the other hand, was elated. He bellowed his supposed triumph, and his cronies whooped and hollered at his back. To them, this must seem a great victory. Yelena doubted that small-timers like these oft got the better of a gang like the Serpents, even momentarily.

She let Eustass rest where he lay for a beat, as the dust settled around him, before she asked in her typical flat tone, "Need help?"

"Sh- sh-... SHUT UP!.."

His answer did not surprise her, but like it or not, he was not moving from that spot until the room had stopped spinning in his head. And Armond was already advancing on them... Sigh. Yelena took a deep, exasperated breath and rose from her seat as Armond's hulking frame lumbered into view. He was all rippling, jagged muscle and feral, stupid machismo. Yelena couldn't help but find him repulsive.

”RUN HOME, LITTLE SERPENTS! LEAVE NOW, AND I WILL LET YOU LIVE!”

His voice boomed and ricocheted off of the walls of the cramped space. Yelena felt herself wince, as a twitch threatened to overtake her left brow. Naglyy vorchun. Unclasping her hands from behind her back, Yelena raised her arms and said,

"Rrreally? Hm. I vill offer you no such kindness."

At her words, Armond's face contorted with rage. Evidently, he had expected she would go without a fight. Had she not seen the way he'd handled her associate? Was that what he was thinking? Good.

Without another word, Armond lunged for her with murder in his eyes, his arms outstretched, coils of steam extending from the tip of each finger.

And yet, despite his best efforts, Yelena remained outside of his reach, despite the fact that she hadn't moved an inch. Veins bulged in the man's temple and along the length of both sides of his neck as he continued to grasp fruitlessly for her, only to catch hold of empty air instead, without ever gaining any ground.

Yelena watched with mounting elation as slowly, realization dawned in the large man's beady black eyes.

Ah, so you finally see it?

He did.
700

A shimmering curtain of pure gravity barred Armond's passage, separating the two of them in space forever. The flicker of doubt passed over the man's grim face then, the shadow of fear. Yelena drank it in. She reveled in it. With a lazy flick of her fingers, the wall made of nothingness advanced. Slow. Deliberate. Unstoppable. Armond's feet ground into the floor as he struggled to press back against it, this translucent gulf of space that existed between them.

The corner of Yelena's mouth curled into a cruel smile. Armond cursed and shouted, battling with all his might against her power. His allies had all gone deathly silent, unable to do anything but watch. With a flourish, Yelena tilted her palm until it faced the ceiling. In response the veil shimmered more violently and like a waving crashing against the shoals, scooped up Armond from beneath and hoisted him high. Suspended in the air, prone, helpless, he clawed at the untouchable boundaries of his prison. Armonds limbs flailed madly as geysers of steam erupted across his body. The steam, too, became trapped in the vice of Yelena's Jinx, swirling and eventually condensing back into water under the immense pressure.

By pointing two fingers skyward, Yelena sent the writhing mass that was Armond and his clouds of steam crashing into the ceiling overhead. The man let out a gurgled, choking gasp as his face pressed into the plaster. From the look of him, he only had a few moments of consciousness left.

In a last ditch effort to free himself, Armond ejected every ounce of his steam from his body. The momentum he'd generated was sufficient, coupled with his stark reduction in body-size, that he slipped out of Yelena's grasp and fell to the floor, choking and gasping like a fish out of water. He was hardly bigger than Eustass anymore...

August, dressed lightly to suit the warm weather on this winter day (though, some might argue his definition of light), is practically laying on the small, round table that is Jinnie's property, hiding himself in the latest volume of Boku no Hero Academia with a hand wrapped over his head, holding gently to the feathery white of his hair.

One might mistake him to be sleeping, but in all actuality he's hiding from the two Tigers that entered not long ago--Markus Weiss and Ivan Dime.

Why's it ohways gotta be me? What'ave I done?

He stares up at the scene on the pages, so close that they're blurred, with wrinkles of worry on his forehead, nervously chewing his lip.

They wouldn' know me, though, would they? I'm just ah Jun'ya. Ain't done much ta make a name o' mahself... But there was 'at one time... 'At one time where ah did that one thing...

August curses under his breath. Of course they'd know me... Ain't too often a fockin' tornado makes an appearance in tha middle o' the damn city. But wait...

Peeking up over the propped magazine, his horn the most notable feature apart from his wideset, bulbous teal eyes, he sees his fellow Sapphire Dragon returning to his table per their earlier conversation--before Jordi had to attend to other business.

"Apologies," Jordi starts.

August lifts his head a tad more--slowly and cautiously while eyeing the back of Markus' head--with the lower half of his face still mostly hidden. They 'aven't noticed ol' Floatah, here... Oh, wait, no... He's just ah Rookie, so duh...

Then he responds to Jordi in a rather distracted manner, keeping his focus glued all-too-noticeably toward the two Tigers. "Yeh, I wouldn' moind... You just gotta let me finish it first, yeh?... But, say, mate- You know those two ovah there?" Finally August meets Jordi's gaze, tossing a jutting thumb in the direction of the specific two in question. "They're Tigahs," his voice drops dramatically, as if the sudden announcement of their affiliation would alert them of his presence. He says softly, "I dunno much on the one with the bowl-cut, but the fluff-tuff- 'at's King Cold... Think Todoroki without 'is foiyah."

Location: West District, Near Revenant's Hotel
Interacting: Lucy ( BriiAngelic BriiAngelic )

________________________________________________________________________________

"Well now, got that much trust in me huh? Good thing a little walk never hurt anyone. Still, most wouldn’t be so quick to invade another gang’s HQ." as Lucy spoke, she slowly began to pick up her pace, which prompted Akira himself to speed up ever-so-slightly, but not enough to take her lead away from her. "Of course I trust you. And not just because you're pretty, either. You got us out of quite the predicament last night." he could still see it, even now; him sitting calmly in the car, as he intently watched her floor the gas pedal and slam into Chikage, a smile on his face temporarily forming as he took in every second of his Elder's pain. He suddenly forced his foot into the ground to stop himself from slamming into Lucy once she suddenly stopped, and allowed him to guide her once again. Guess she finally realized I'm the one taking her.

"Wait… It’s been awhile? Did a mission bring ya there? Why didn’t you just plant one of your waypoints then?" He was slightly annoyed by her question, but in order to establish some form of genuine trust between the two, he knew he'd have to answer her, even if it wasn't the truth. He couldn't forget why he had agreed to this date in the first place. "As I'm sure you know, I do some... well, security on the side. Escorting people can land you just about anywhere, you know?" he briefly looked up to the sky, in an attempt to emphasize his 'thinking' and make it more realistic. "I think it was maybe a year or two ago, but I ended up escorting a rookie revenant there. Revenants were watching me from every angle, so if I dropped anything around them, they'd probably try to kill me. Still, it's surprisingly easy to get places when you're working behind a mask." with that, he reached into the inside of his jacket and flashed his kitsune mask, winking at her and concealing it once again. The only thing that worried him was that he couldn't quite get a read on whether or not she believed him yet. "You gotta bring me along next time 'kay." As they made temporary eye contact, he quickly broke it by closing his eyes and shooting her his signature foxlike smile. "Of course."

He signaled for Lucy to slow down as they neared the hotel, which was sure to have a few scattered Revenants lounging about inside of the fenced area guarding the building. He crouched down, making sure that their heads were well obscured, and took a second to come up with a concrete plan of action. He brought his hand to his chin and intensely stared at the ground below him, silently thinking to himself, before suddenly perking back up. "Lucy," he started, slowly turning his head to look her in the eyes with a warm, encouraging smile. What he said next would surely be enough for her to be satisfied with their date, no matter what they did afterwards. "Would you like to go inside the hotel?"

Vulken Beckman

Ruby Revenants |Senior| Jinx: Incinerator
Location: West District, Revenant HQ (Previously Boltius' Apartment)
Interacting: Boltius ( Doctor Llamabean Doctor Llamabean ) mentions Akira and Lucy

________________________________________________________________________________

Vulken was disappointed by his brother's description of this 'Anita', and he made sure to show it. "She's out of your league, dude... That chick's smart." it was true, Vulken was a self-proclaimed 'Proud Idiot', and because of that, it was usually a bit more difficult for him to get with girls who were attracted to intellect and intelligence. Nonetheless, he nodded, urging Boltius to continue. "She's fun, though, but good luck tryna pull 'er. She ain't ever been with anyone... Like... She's had a boyfriend or two, but she ain't ever... you know." he gave yet another disheartened nod. "So unless you're lookin' t' get serious, I'd steer clear." while sex wasn't usually on the top of Vulken's list, it was... still pretty high up there. It was rarely ever a main priority for him, but neither was a serious relationship. A cocky smirk grew as he looked at Boltius. "Well, I'm a ladies man, y'know. What's hard for you ain't hard for me." note to self, Vulken. You'll just flirt with her a bit, test out the waters. No way you're gettin' lucky tonight.

Boltius finally broke free from his hug, taking a few steps back and readjusting himself before continuing to explain. "She's got a weird Jinx, if you ask me, but it's cute. I'm into Brielle, though, so- I mean! " instantly, Vulken's eyebrow raised, and he mischievously looked at his brother, gesturing for him to continue his sentence. "Well? Go on." Boltius looked back with wide eyes, obviously flustered by his mix-up of words, and Vulken stifled a laugh. "That's- I just mean Brielle's more my type. I'm not like specifically into her! She's just a roommate." Vulken suddenly threw his hands up, as if a gun was drawn on him, and spoke, the occasional laugh escaping as he tried to piece his words together. "Yup! Just a roommate. Right. Whatever you say, little bro. Whatever you say."

Boltius changed the subject at lightning speed, much to Vulken's amusement. Listening to his brother's plan made him a bit uneasy, but hey, he was the Jack now. He shouldn't have to go worrying about the Jack of the Ruby Revenants. If Bolt had managed to get this far, he knew that he could trust him to handle his own business. "Speaking of, I'm supposed to be meeting Matsuda soon. But I guess it's not every day your missing brother shows up at your door..."

"Nah, I'm gonna get outta your hair." he shrugged off his worry, and patted his brother on the shoulder once again, before turning to the kitchen. As if he lived there, he ripped a paper towel off of the roll, picking up a pen that was sitting on the counter to his right. "You own pens, huh? Or is this that Brielle's doing?" he examined the pen for a second, before opening it and writing his phone number down on the paper towel, his well-trained handwriting being reduced to a sloppy line of numbers due to the various bumps and designs on the paper. He looked at the pen once again before closing the cap and setting it down. "Yep, definitely her." He placed the paper towel in his hand, pausing for a second to take in his brother's appearance once again. "Alright, Bolt. Be safe. Like I said, call me and I'll be there." without hesitating, he punched him in the arm at medium-power, as payback for the stinging pain he still felt in his jaw. "'Till then, I'm gonna be making some dough with that Anita chick. And trust me, I'm specifically into her." he hastily opened the door and stepped out, trying to get away before Boltius could hit him once again. As he quickly closed it behind him, he uttered out one last sentence. "See ya, kiddo."

Vulken dashed back down the stairs and rushed outside, positive that if he didn't move fast enough, Boltius would chase after him and try to kill him. Once sunlight hit him, he knew he was safe. He smiled to himself as he made his way to the Hotel with his hands in his pockets. He's safe. They're all safe. Thanks, God.

As he neared the hotel, stopped for a second, looking across the street to see a black haired man and a blonde woman crouched down behind a wall. "...Weirdos. Guess the Tsunami rattled some brains, too." he shrugged before heading into the hotel, and waiting for his partner to reveal herself. He was on time, right?

Despite his sour attitude, Grée managed to let out a chuckle of amusement. He clapped slowly, patronizing, once all of the idiotic Tigers had left them to themselves. “Wow. Always the gentleman Chikage, clearing out a room just for me? My my, if I’m not mistaken would that mean that I hold a dear place in your heart?” Grée smirked at him, never taking his gaze away from Chikage’s eyes.

Smoothing back his hair, he took a deep breath. “Well, no matter. You are blessed to see me here because-“ he hesitated. There was no way in hell he was going to beg Chikage for help. He cleared his throat and crossed his arms defensively- his smile dropping. “... because I have a favor to ask of you-“ He held up his hand in case Chikage decided to interrupt him. “And don’t you go parading just yet you ass.” He glared daggers at him. Grée had no doubt in his mind that Chikage would take a shot at him any chance he got- but Grée was in no mood to stand for it. “I-.. My sister. Misa, you remember her? Well. She’s hurt. And-“ he choked and started to fumble on his words. Damn it. Dammit it all. Tears started to form in his eyes again, and his throat refused to obey him. Clearing it he spoke once more, though strained. “... I want you to heal her. I-... I can’t bear the thought of her leaving me. I have never.. seen her like this- and I know with.. her being in a gang and all it was bound to happen that she would get injured- but this.” He motions his hand- waving at the empty air. “This is too much. So. I ask of you. And I know you despise my very being- but I-.. I’m desperate. And trust me- if I had another option, you would’ve been at the bottom of my list.

Grégoire wasn’t used to being vulnerable, or even having a cause to feel vulnerable in the first place. This was all so new and.. unpleasant. He only hoped Chikage would do as he asked, but he knew he wouldn’t just do something for Grée out of his own good heart. Not after all the shit Grégoire has done to him. Averting his eyes, he took a deep breath. “..I. Will do anything you ask. I’ll even cut off my own tongue for you or one of your healers to heal my sister.” Eyes snapped shut, he felt a hot trickle of wetness trail down his cheek. Sure, Grée was one for dramatics- but not like this. This was weakness.

Due to his recent fight, almost the entirety of his back is reddened and blistered with burns, as are the palms of his hands and his right cheek.
______________________________________________________________________________________________________
135.jpgThe table, weak as it is, caves beneath the momentum of Eustass' weight crashing down on top of it, snapping it down the center and causing the legs to slide outward as he settles onto the cold floor in a disoriented daze, feeling splinters of wood at his back.

Yelena, standing to his left, asks if he needs help, and his ego trembles with murderous passion, but all he can manage in response is a strained, "Sh- sh-... SHUT UP!..." without even lifting his head from the floor.

He lies there, limp and cradled between the two halves of what was once a table, eyes nearly rolling into the back of his head as his consciousness teeters like a seesaw positioned at the edge of an endless canyon.

The palms of his hands are burnt, feeling as if the skin is slowly tightening--or like he's growing out of it--as blisters form. It's the same on his back, a long strip of bubbled flesh outlined in red where the initial burst of Armond's steam had hit him and sent him flying.

Fortunately, due to the adderall coursing through his veins, he cannot feel the pain that would otherwise torment his body if he were sober.

Slowly, he lifts his head, pushing himself up with what energy he can muster, leaning back on his hands, and he gazes with foggy vision at the scene before him of Armond being slammed into the ceiling by some mystical shimmering wall. Then all at once, the muscular mass of a man expels one last burst of steam in an attempt to escape Yelena's gravity well--at which Eustass is now blinking with wide eyes--and he falls to the floor in a fit of coughs and chokes.

Eustass gets to his feet and staggers side-to-side, arms dangling as if his bones are made of rubber.

To see Armond by his altered form, he gapes speechlessly. So big a man before, yet now so small and frail--a sheep in wolf's clothing exactly.

Abruptly, following the slow rising of a bemused drone in his throat, Eustass spits into a show of hysterical laughter, each inhale sounding of a sharp wheeze only to be released on a rippling, woodpecker-like cackle that reaches its loudest point right before another gasp for breath.

His abs ache, so he hugs himself with both arms and hunkers forward as tears squeeze from their ducts and roll down his tatted cheeks.

He hasn't laughed this hard in well over a year--and while it's much appreciated, the murderous trembling of his ego from before overtakes his demeanor, and the laughter halts as he, all at once, turns toward Yelena to punch her in the arm. As he does, he also jumps backwards, creating some distance between him and her.

"YOU BITCH, I TOLD YOU I- I TOLD YOU I DIDN'T NEED-.. DIDN'T-.. I DIDN'T NEED YOUR HELP, SO WHY'D- WHY'D-.. WHY'D YA DO IT!? HAH!? WHY'D YA DO IT!?" His stance is wide, crouched almost, and his arms are held out like a cowboy in a fast-draw standoff. "AND DON'T-.." he strains a second, tucking his chin to the side, "-STAND THERE AND- AND- AND.. FUCKIN' STARE DOWN AT ME LIKE- AT LIKE YOU'RE ROYALTY!... YOU'RE IN MY CITY, BITCH! THE CONCRETE THAT- THAT PAVES THESE STREETS IS THE SAME SHIT RUNNIN'-.. TH-THROUGH THESE VEINS!"

"SECOND OF ALL!" Eustass stomps toward Armond and kicks his arm out from under him, for he'd been fighting to get to his feet long enough that it was starting to piss Eustass off. Pointing down at the pathetic individual, "YOU- YOU-.. YOU SHRINK PEOPLE?!"

Escorting people, yeah she figured as much. Man, she hadn’t taken an escort mission in a minute and a half. She didn’t much like them herself, people were too squishy. She nodded along as he mentioned it being easy to move around with a mask. There were definite boons, but she’d had less obvious masks to wear. Even if they were generally harder to obtain.

As they approached the rundown structure she was quick to follow Akira’s lead ducking behind a wall. The building looked unsound, unlike some of the other buildings where it was clear they attempted some form of repair this one was clearly not. Then again, maybe that was the point? She glanced back at Akira. He didn’t make mistakes like that, so this was the Reverant’s HQ.

Moreover, was it a hotel? Did they let their members in like the Tigers did? She wished she’d picked up a Mission or two in the west. She hated the place but you had to know your enemy right? Instead of immediate action she’d been steeling her resolve. She hadn’t been hotheaded yet and she wasn’t about to start now. So of course she wanted to investigate. Even so she saw an opportunity to joke and rolled with it.

“My my trying to get me to a hotel on our first date. And here I thought you were a gentleman. Justttt Kidding. You know I want in, but let me do some security measures first.”

She took out her phone and put it on silent. A quick few snapshots and pinning of the location later. She sent a quick note to Jaimme. “Hey Jai, went sightseeing! Meet back at the hideout tonight? Dinner’s on me.”

An innocuous message. She’d learned the power of information long ago. She didn’t damn well want to say she was hitting up the Revenants, lest Jaimme just wind up following, but if they didn’t make it back in a timely matter he knew what to do.

    “So how we doing this?”

She gave a wide toothy grin as she drove them back into the city. Ah to be back! She loved the city, she hated it’s every crevice. The North district was a wealthy ritzy landscape of wonder! It was a cesspool that needed to be cleansed by shooting every fucking gang member in the head excution style. This was her home and she loved it. This was some hillbilly backwards ass city where the kingpins could stand to be knocked down a peg or seven.

No no no she couldn’t be so at war with herself. She twisted her reflection that caught onto the glass of the windows into a scenery of wild open hills and the first frost. Ah now that was better. She had had a full two weeks out of the reach of this dumbass job and she couldn’t even enjoy it since he was right over her shoulder. But no matter she was playing the facade perfectly, not too obviously but not too well hidden.

She did a little maniacal giggle to herself, before stopping herself with a gasp. Of course it was all planned out, she was never so clumsy as to give herself suspicions without meaning to. With her face twisting back into a false friendly smile she looked to Jaimme out the side of her eye. She used her right hand in a fanning motion as if brushing off her “slip”.

“Whoopsy, guess I got a little ahead of myself there. I was just thinking how easy it’ll be now that we got some of the targets in the Tiger’s pocket. It’s toooooo bad that the silly old men didn’t all agree.”

A clumsy woman ready to do anything asked of her with a smile. The sugar sweet personality didn’t fit the Tigers. Or any gang for that matter, but then that’s why she’d taken it on. She was the outlier, the clear threat. She was Rocio De La Torre, miraculous child of ashes.

“We’re almost home Jaimme did you have plans for when we’re back?”

What. The. Fuck. Why were these pricks here? This was their job- not some forgotten Ruby’s. Alistair casually placed his hand on the hilt of his fencing sword. “I could ask you the same thing. Didn’t know the Ruby’s sent their disregarded little puppies to steal a mission.” Alistair knew that pointing out the fall of the Revenants was a low blow- but if he was honest, he really didn’t care. It was funny (in his opinion).

The air was so tense, Alistair swore he could cut it with his blade. He stepped towards them with the utmost confidence. “And for your information, this kid is ours. You won’t lay a hand on em.” he smiled. “ I’ll be sure of that.

He looked towards Pascal and Aki once more, reassuring his mind that they were in fact- standing before him. Alistair really didn't want to start an unnecessary fight, but judging by these guys’ attitude- it seemed inevitable. Although, he couldn't say he wasn't to blame either.
