With the first plan failed, Xifeng took another breath, her lungs burned from the exertion of her literally breathing fire. It wasn't a common sight for the phoenix to lose her temper like that, she knew it. Clearing her throat, Xifeng looked to Nolganna, whose much larger hand was placed on her back, a comforting gesture, Nolganna seemed to know Xifeng was frustrated, puzzles were not her partner's strong suit, but they were Xifeng's more often than not, and being that she understood literally nothing of these puzzles, as trinkets and magics beyond her time were present, that frustrated her.
It frustrated the young phoenix who hadn't been ready for this. Remaining in thought, she hadn't noticed Nolganna speaking of her strength, though she instinctively backed up, looking as if she were a marionette, and someone yanked the strings as hard as they could. Glancing at the walls again, she tried to make out what she could, if Nolganna was the strength, she was the wisdom... Now, the duo only needed courage.
Glancing at the riddles again, Xifeng read through the words, losing herself in thought for but a moment, before a sound came through, causing the vermilion woman to nearly jump out of her feathers, BANG. A sound that was of a hammer banging against a hard object, snapping her head to the source, she watched Nolganna twitching and convulsing for a moment as if electricity was going through her. A large flap of her wings, Xifeng went to the aid of her companion once more, as a Gas began to fill the room, starting with the local area around Nolganna.
Another flap would disperse the gas for a moment, allowing Xifeng to get to the cyclops with a small pocket of clean air. This would last maybe a moment if unsustained. As she readied the quick recovery for Nolganna, she watched the larger woman tear off again, Xifeng needed to keep up, her wings were the best for this moment, spreading and dispersing whatever the hell Nolganna pressed was helpful, paired with the movement. However, this would only delay the inevitable, as the deep fears in her mind crept closer, while not suppressing it, Xifeng kept her mind trained on one goal, aid Nolganna.
Watching Nolganna bash her head onto the walls with the riddles, Xifeng landed close to her much taller friend, who began to call out for her, with tears forming in her eye, she looked mortified,
"Xi? Can you see... what this...?" Nolganna asked, holding a red blob of sorts, as Xifeng stepped over to her companion, her mind was plagued as well, Xifeng's body wanted to fly, as her feathers began to flatten. Xifeng couldn't manage an answer, her mind was plagued by it's own fear response. Whatever Nolganna hit, it wasn't something Xifeng wanted ever again. Breathing for a moment, Xifeng kept her resolve, even if she her mind was scared, she would press on, as she looked to the blob, what was it? As much as she wanted to investigate it, every part of her relayed the same message, get out, flee, run, fear. Yet, she acted on her own instinct, watching Nolganna kneel down in the same affliction, stepping over, she knelt down to her partner, placing a hand on her shoulder, the fear lingered, it was apparent in both,
"Nolganna... Breathe, we'll make it..." Her words were hesitant, and shaking, the phoenix has had many scared moments in her life, but this, was the worst. As the gas settled and soon dispersed, Xifeng heard the familiar voice of the spider-lady. Of all the people, it had to be the spider, if it was go near her, or suffer with fear gas, Xifeng would gladly take that fear gas...
"hmm you two had some real out of the box idea's sure they failed sure it was brute force but it was a good usage of your skills put together impressive so, overall you two get a B well done"
Only a B? Wait, was that good? There was no grading system like that in her home-- Being fair, Zhongguo had colleges where it was more free-form learning with the other masters and philosophers, looking to Nolganna, Xifeng couldn't help but laugh, air was flowing in from the new hole that was once a door, "You did it, Nolganna. We have passed this puzzle." Her words were calm, as a mixed set of fear and joy had lay under those words, rising to her feet, Xifeng offered her hand, "Come, let us leave this box."
