Awkward If You Say So GIF by Bounce

I just love the occult, I can't really pinpoint the moment when the love started but I can say some examples which stirred me towards it.
  • Found a fairy ring a few times in a forest near my house.
  • Heard myths and legends about the area I live in like the story of the white lady. [Literally, a white lady clothed in white, the only thing not white are her scarlet eyes, she guides the lost people to safety but if someone looks into her eyes she will lead them into danger.]
  • Read H.P. Lovecraft
  • Played a lot of fantasy games and always played with magic.
  • John Constantine. just yeah!
  • Just the idea of magic is great for me.
I like all kinds of magic, well maybe except religious magic you know the one where you need to be given it by god and do gods work to use it, so I just kinda hate white magic and holy magic.
Necromancy, Shamanism, Druidic, Sanguimancy, Golemancy and Alchemy are my favourite kinds of magic for all of them have a deep meaning.
Necromancy and Shamanism have meaning with spirits and the dead. Druidic and Sanguimancy are related to life in a way, Druidic uses life in plants and animals, Sanguimancy uses the lifeblood, literally the life which is in the blood. Golemancy and Alchemy have ways of creating life, as well as changing it.
Sorry for not replying!

That's really interesting! I don't live near any wooded areas, so finding a faerie ring hasn't been something I could ever achieve. I would love to see one someday though! When I learned about the fae folk, I sort of fell into a huge rabbit hole. If you know of any books related to faerie folklore, please send them my way!

My family and I have had some weird experiences with spirits. They weren't overtly malicious but made themselves known to us. We have a term around here that refers to these spirits. The term translates to house dwellers. We essentially believe every house has its spirits. They haven't caused any problems recently.

The first type of magick I learned about was pagan I believe. I do find necromancy interesting. I've always had a reverence for the dead, so any magick honours the dead will always have a place in my heart. I'll admit I am not very knowledgeable in certain magick practices, but I do hope to learn more. Being neurodivergent makes it tricky to know where to start honestly, so if you have anything you'd like to share, please tell me about them :]

Genii Genii . I have a question. Percival spotted a portly man who is possibly the Inn's cook and I had Xen salute him in thanks. He seems to be a separate NPC character. Does he have a name? I'm curious in case anymore interact with him.

Hi yes, sorry his name is Colin (the cook). 😅 Barry mentioned him very briefly earlier (when Akuma asked if he needed help making dinner).

I’ll add a little blurb for him on the main thread, but he’ll be located in the kitchen - which I’ll also add as a guild location as there seem to be a few characters who might want to use this area. ☺️

DualDragons DualDragons Ok to the second character. 😁👍

Welcome seasonedcat seasonedcat love little Ruvu’s bio.

Morning CalamityQueller CalamityQueller 👋

I work the other way around, so I’ll draw my characters last, but I can still spend hours researching costume ideas. Plus the time it takes to actually draw the little monkeys. 😂🙈

Alright! I need a little help with something. As I stated before, I'm working on a character I spoke about before. I've decided to have her work with the demon Dantalion. My only issue is having him appear in a familiar form. What form do you think he should take? Traditionally, this demon appears as a man with many appearances, having the face of all men and women. He is also often depicted holding a grimoire in his hand. He has dominion over all thoughts and can change them at his will. He can also cause love and show the similitude of any person, show the same by means of a vision along with Scrying any part of the Earth, and let them be in any part of the world they will. He Helps one relate with others on an emotional level. Teaches emotional intelligence and heightens empathy for others.

What form do you think would be best suited for him to appear in? I'll probably have to limit him to some capacity, considering how powerful he is.

Also sorry for the MASSIVE infodump

CalamityQueller CalamityQueller you could have him appear as a man like he does traditionally but maybe you could give him a mask. And everytime he takes off the mask he has a different face.

I like this idea. 👍

Once I’m home from my errands I’ll start typing up a few quests, so you’ll be able to see the format - should anyone want to add one to the board in future. 😁

I’d only ask that if you are wanting to submit/host an adventure, that you have the time to complete it, so as not to disappoint your fellow players who are taking part. 👍

how do you think he'd appear as a familiar? I plan on taking the pact of chains for my warlock so should he want to speak to her, he might go through the familiar.

My first suggestion would be an owl but that's purely based on gut feelings

Yeah, a bird could work. It’s not too suss. Maybe a raven or one of those harmless looking tiny owls (I forget the name). 😅
I think I'll use a raven. They are ill omens to some, but they also symbolize insight and prophecy. In addition to that, they are sometimes considered psychopomps, connecting the material and spirit world.

Ohohoho. (Rubs hands together). 😈

I’ll add these to the main thread in a mo, but here are a few available quests that characters can pick up.

I’d recommend they don’t set out until the morning as most of the contacts will be asleep soon, and the roads outside of Colby are dangerous at night. 😅 But characters can check out the quest board and put a party together (you can do that OOC here too - check which players are available etc.)

Forgot to say - gc just stands for ‘gold coins’, unless anyone wants to come up with a world currency? 😅

For anyone wanting to host a quest, I’d say a contact is required - just to get the Hunter’s started, by providing them with a bit more info and pointing them in the right direction (if they aren’t going with). An npc I suppose. 👍
