As Danyren entered the dingy cafe, the smells of the city seemed to multiply tenfold, concentrated as they were in the small establishment. She tried and failed to keep the discomfort from her face. The odor of unwashed bodies mixed with the aroma of indeterminate foods and drink mixed together in the unpleasant atmosphere.
She made her way to the table the others had begun to sit around. She saw her charge offer a seat next to her, but she went around and sat on the other side of her instead. It allowed her to put her back toward the wall and gave her a better view of the rest of the place. She would prefer to stand, a position that would allow her more freedom to react should the need arises, but she decided that might seem rude. The chair creaked ominously as she settled her long frame into it, but otherwise seemed stable enough. She listened quietly as the others began to discuss possible plans of action for their other self, and as she had already said that her counterpart would be unable to make the meeting with Cirocco, she made no attempt to add anything to the conversation at present, instead opting to keep her head on a swivel, observing their party and the others in the dim interior. She continued to fidget with the hilt of her short sword in an effort to stay relaxed.
Her head was starting to ache from keeping her empathic senses but still within acceptable limits. Better safe than sorry. She of course noticed the scaly one she had seen enter before, though he had yet to join them at their table. It was probably only a matter of time till he did. She also picked up on an interest coming from another patron, but before she could study him closer, a flair of pain and distress snapped her eyes towards the front entrance. Not for the first time, she cursed the limitations of her empathy. Emotions without context didn't really tell her what was actually happening. She was just about to go take a look outside when the shadowed figure she had barely seen outside all but stumbled in and made her way to a table in the corner. She seemed to be attempting to get herself under control, using a breathing technique. Danyren argued with herself for several moments over whether or not to go and see if there was any way she could help. She didn't even know if she could help, but she had to try. Helping others was just a part of who she was, and her other self was in total agreement.
Decision made, she excused herself from the table, saying she would return in a moment, before carefully approaching the woman. She tried to appear as non threatening as possible, but there wasn't much she could do about her height, so she kept her hands loosely open at her side away from her weapons, and stopped a couple of feet away from the table to the side, making sure not to cut off an avenue of escape for the woman. This was not the first time she had ever had to approach someone who was hurting, and having an escape sometimes helped them to not freak out or get defensive. Not always, something she had learned the hard way, but sometimes.
"Are you okay, miss. Do you require assistance?"
