"Mew!" A tiny meow could be heard after some rustling coming from Rosie's arms while the world happened around the once nurse, and then--

Tigrecolorwip.png

A tiny tabby kittens head popped out from the red cape draped over her body. It's mouth, tongue, and chin fur were covered in blood... and so was the top part of Rosie's dress...

The small, small woman slept like she was dead (not stirring and breathing so soft it was almost undetectable) and nearly looked the part.

It wasn't until the small tabby kitten licked Rosie's chin that she even flinched for a moment, getting blood now on her chin as well.

It continued to do so for a bit, weakly crawling closer to her face, as if trying to awaken her... to no avail. This kitten was a fighter in spirit (it had survived being nearly mauled to death long enough to have it's life saved, after all) however, and didn't give up trying quite so easily.

It kept meowing and licking her chin, but after stirring once after the first lick Rosie did not move again. There was a brief moment where her face twitched and looked displeased, but it too was momentary and only happened once.

The tiny orange tabby curled up by her chest sadly, covered by the cape once again and meowing again within her unconscious arms.

Rosie continued to sleep like she would never awaken again, unperturbed by the waking world.

Dorn groaned as Rockefeller asked his question. "Yes, yes, obviously. Now then, you can go about your business, it doesn't concern you." He waved the man off, but then gasped as he heard the meowing and looked down to see a cat emerge from Rosie's clothing. His eyes gained a... strange warmth to them, one that looked almost uncomfortable on his unnerving face. "Ah, well aren't you a cute one, little guy!" He kneeled down to the cat, reaching his finger out to allow the cat to sniff him. "I enjoy dogs for being so useful, of course, but I'm an animal lover of all kinds!" He gently stroked the cat, looking at it with concern. "Blood... oh, my dear thing, were you involved in an altercation recently? I doubt this child would be able to protect you." He reached into his other breast pocket for a moment, before putting both of his hands on the cat and wrapping a red collar around its neck. "There you go, little guy, I'll..." he paused briefly, seeming to narrow his eyes.

"Hold on... the blood... you..." his eyes darted over to Rosie's unconscious form as he narrowed his eyes once more. The cat jumped up onto Dorn's shoulder, sitting there perched. A few moments of thought later, and suddenly something odd happened. Concrete formed into small cuffs, locking Rosie into place on the ground. The cat meowed as Dorn stood up. While the cat hissed at Rosie's unconscious form, Dorn turned to face Maximus and Odiel.

"Dorn..." Maximus growled, already sensing that something was off and preparing himself. Dorn cleared his throat and spoke.

"Well, my dear Rose and Venus, our time together has been excellent. However, unfortunately, something has come up. I'll be going, and I'm afraid I'm taking this young girl with me. You see, this woman is a... person of interest to some of our higher ups, so I must bid you adieu." Half of his dogs kept an eye on Rockefeller while the other half kept an eye on the pair of comrades.

"We had a deal, Dorn. You said you wouldn't hurt her." Maximus glared at Dorn, who simply responded to him with a bored look.

"You're not a part of this, Venus." He turned to face Odiel. "I really do apologize, this is so ungentlemanly of me, my dear. However, this is above my head I'm afraid. It is for the best, nonetheless." Bits of concrete rose up below him and began sliding him away, moving him automatically as if there was an automatic sidewalk underneath him. "ooh, this is fun."

Liamcolordone.png

LIam wandered throughout the streets. He had been walking throughout Locronan for quite some time not finding any sign of the mysterious healer and was beginning to doubt the validity of these claims, but he had to keep searching because if there was even a sliver of a chance of this women existing, he wouldn't be able to just let her slip away from him.

Soon enough Liam spotted Nazis soldiers. In any other scenario they wouldn't be much to worry but when he saw that one of them was a part of the canine unit, he paused, wondering whether they were searching for the same person he was. What was he thinking, of course they were searching for this miracle worker. This could spell bad news for him if they were to capture her, especially since Liam didnt have any leads. Liam's only option would be to follow them as he couldn't find her himself and he couldn't just let them have her.

Knowing that he is going to regret it, he reached back into his bag and pulled out a Lemon. Liam, without a second thought, bit into it, whole. The sour liquid filling his mouth and, just as he had taken the bite, he was gone. Even more than invisible, he wasn't, well, there. There wasn't a single trace of him existing and to anyone else, he just dissapeared into the crowd.

Liam placed the Lemon back into his bag, making sure it doesn't drip all over everything and, his face puckered from the sour Lemon, followed the soldiers. Soon enough, the soldiers had found the healer and as they were dragging her across the concrete, Liam was readying himself to cause a large distraction to grab her and run. It would be risky, but it's his best shot, though before, another person came running from the crowd. Liam barely had enough time to move before they could run into him. They seemed to be from out of town, judging from both their ragged clothes and absolute lack of fear when confronting the Nazis. Liam applauded him for being the only person to at least try and help the women, but was annoyed that he was getting in the way.

As the man talked to the soldiers a small kitten appeared from the mass of clothes on the ground. The soldier with the dogs turned down and picked up the small kitten. He appeared to take a small collar from his pocket and put it around the kitten. Liam had ignored it up until then as the cat didnt have anything to do with him, but after only a second, Liam could feel this man's menacing aura radiating from him in waves. He readied himself for an encounter as this man definitely felt dangerous.

Suddenly, concrete handcuffs formed themselves from the ground and attached themselves to the women on the floor. The man and the women then began to across the concrete, as if it was treadmill, pulling him along. Liam realized that this man had the same type of abilities as him and William and knew that he was much more dangerous than any normal soldier. Liam had to stop him, or at least do something. Knowing that this is exactly what he was trying to avoid, Liam ran towards the closest alleyway. He took out the lemon he had taken a bite out of previously and finished it off, his eyes watering from the bitterness. Liam the places his hands on the concrete and activated his Stand. Quickly, a number of seeds began to grow from the ground, growing into Lemons. They would mature at an alarming rate, only taking around 5 seconds to become fully grown. They wouldn't stop growing, though. They would soon rot, turning a greenish color.

Liam would stand about, about 20 Rotten Lemons on the ground. Liam took out another Lemon, bit into, and ran into action. The rotten Lemons began to grow small arms and legs, then small mouths with sharp teeth, and, finally, eyes. They also moved at alarming speeds, much faster then normal humans, made their way directly towards Herr Dorn. Liam hoped that he would be able to distract the man quickly and take the woman, he didn't want to have to get into a head-on fight.

Odielcolorfinished.png

Odiel breathed a sigh of relief upon seeing Rosie, asleep but safe an unharmed. She wasn't in the hands of the resistance, which was good. What the plan was now, Odiel hadn't thought that far ahead. Rosie was valuable, and Odiel would see her continue to heal people regardless of anything else she had done in the past. A stand that can heal people? She was literally too important to punish.

That's when she heard shouting from behind them, and turned to look around to see a man desperately trying to regain his composure and appear collected again. He must have been chasing the dogs and didn't expect to see three soldiers at the other end of them. She turned to him with a stoic, non-hostile face and spoke matter-of-factly.

"These are indeed our dogs. This is official business. No reason for concern. Be-"

Before she could finish, she heard a meow come from Rosie's prone form, and turned to look. For the first time since Dorn had seen her, surprise showed on her face. She crouched down for a closer look and saw the kitten. Almost immediately after, she saw the blood and shot back up.

"What in the-"

The cat jumped to Dorn's shoulder, and at the same time, Rosie was cuffed to the floor. This was definitely the work of a stand. Odiel glared at Dorn. Was the cat his stand? Why was there blood?

She watched Dorn silently, as he explained that Rosie was of interest to their higher-ups. This didn't surprise Odiel. What was surprising was that Dorn had some kind of direct line with them. She took him as an eccentric specialist. But this.;..this was sketchy. This felt all wrong. She wanted a few things clarified.

Odiel put her hand out, and suddenly Dorn stopped moving. The concrete still was moving, but it felt like everything from his feet up had pressed against an invisible wall. The clerk did not look pleased, but again, not hostile. She gave him a wry humourless smile.

"Apology accepted as soon as you clear a few things up. First the blood. Is she okay and unhurt? I'm not letting you go until you answer, and the answer had better be yes. I believe I am privy to this information."

That's when she saw...lemon creatures. Was this also Dorn's stand? No. It didn't fit with the other things she'd seen. Was there another stand user?

"Rosie sure is popular. All the more reason to keep her safe and not let her be put into a position where anyone uses her like a tool." She gave a pointed look at Dorn when she said 'anyone', before turning to Max. "Can you deal with the lemons? I'm a little busy here."

William Hawthorne
(East Locronan - Cathedral Rooftop/Liam's Subway)

img%5D

A small crackle buzzed off from Liam's pocket right as he ran into action.

"Liam, this is William. Do you copy? I have eyes on your situation, over."

Back in the subway, William was sat up with some effort and listening to the radio at his ear for Liam's response. Adelaide was not currently in the room, so William had assumed she had gone off to take care of some other 'Seeds of Truth' errands. In her absence, he had taken one of the radio's left lying around and tuned it to the frequency he had remembered Liam's own radio to be set to. One hand over his progressively more painful bullet wound and the other holding the radio in place, a brief wince of discomfort flashed across his face before focus washed over him again. William stared at the wall opposite him as if he were completely zoning out, yet his vision was homing in on the fight occurring before him only 500ft away.

|Dead Dreams| was stood atop a cathedral nearby to Liam's subway, high enough to have a perfect vantage point of the conflict unfolding in Locronan's streets. With enough ability to see the fighting in enough detail as if he were but a few feet away, William's stand scanned the players involved. It seemed that German officer who had seen his face was there, along with the other officer that had apparently been able to see his stand in the hospital room, were both present. With them, another German who appeared to be sliding along the gravel unnaturally. There were trained sniffer dogs nearby who William assumed belonged to the new nazi soldier. In addition to this, he saw yet another man dressed in Nazi overalls, albeit missing an arm and seemingly distressed.

And then there was Liam, charging into battle with his regiment of... William physically squinted back in the subway as if that was going to help him see better through |Dead Dreams|. Were those little yellow balls? No, they looked more like lemons, or perhaps limes judging from the colour they turned. Their appearance was altered further as they grew arms and other bodily features that honestly somewhat disturbed the British officer. They were like zesty imps from Hell. William switched his gaze to the final player, who appeared to be unconscious. Judging from logical reasoning alone, William deduced that the sleeping woman gravel-cuffed to the floor was Rosie. So that's what their objective looked like.

"I see two unengaged patrols nearby, one at the end of the road and one around the street corner. Two soldiers each, ETA twenty and thirty-four seconds. Do you need me to take them out?"

He did not elaborate how he was going to be able to do so despite the great distance between them.

Chaos. That was the only way Rockefeller could describe the scene. Before he could say anything in response to Dorn or Odiel, concrete cuffs bound their sleepy captive to the ground. The scarred Nazi sung his goodbyes and started to slide away on a concrete platform lifted from the ground before he just stopped. One of his companions, casually holding a hand out to him, started the latest round of 20 Questions. Meanwhile, a lemon army twenty strong skittered from the alleyway towards the immobile Dorn, bearing teeth and talons like the fiercest beast. "All too ready to rend flesh from bone..." All the others seemed to have some idea of what was going on, what they were looking at, but not the one-armed wanderer. Even with an inkling of a clue, he wasn't sure how he would act. All he knew was that these people were like him in some way. They possessed powers beyond the scope of man, and that made them infinitely more dangerous than he would have gleaned from a single glance.

So, what did he do with this new knowledge? He ran.

Not away from the fight, heavens no, but through it. As ridiculous as the scene was, it had its upsides. Surely the confusion would allow something as mundane as a one-armed Nazi would be of less importance past rogue fruits and concrete-riding weirdos? That was the hope anyway, though his mad dash towards Rosie might have drawn some attention. "This woman can't be safe with anyone here." The one-armed man thought, making himself aware of the dogs and the stability of the ground he walked on. "I'll have to safe her myself!" Assuming he wasn't stopped before he reached Rosie, Rockefeller kneeled at her side and grabbed an arm with his bare hand. It seemed like he intended to pry the bar away in some pitiful attempt, but those watching closely would see the water gushing from his glove.

During the time they were separated, Ace went around spreading the rumor, making sure it went around quickly, once done, he followed Rosie’s direction until he could find a café to eat something, after all, he hadn’t eaten anything ever since he woke up, it wasn’t the best café from the area, but he’d been in much worse places.

From his seat by the window, he looked at the street as he slowly drank his coffee, using Heavensent’s perception, hoping to spot Rosie running around, however, nothing interesting happened, until some dogs and their Nazi owners appeared, as he inspected the trio the dogs separated from them and moved alone.

He chuckled at the poor soul that was being dragged, but it quickly disappeared as he noticed that the captive’s clothes were extremely identical to Rosie’s, but it couldn’t be… Right?
A long, disappointed sigh filled the café, “Right… yeah, it’s okay…” He said to himself as if to help him accept reality, with his thoughts gathered he turned back and found that another person joined the people around Rosie. Seconds later, a cat appeared from Rosie’s clothes, Ace assumed that was the reason she was sleeping, and now the little traitor was hissing at her.

Ace finally stood up and made his way towards the exit, leaving the payment on the table. “Everyone should leave, just saying.” He said to the onlookers inside, as he pulled a gun from the inside of his suit, stepping outside, walking towards the group.

He somehow managed to notice the cuffs on Rosie and the little things making their way towards one of the attackers, as the one who arrived late, reaching towards her. Without skipping a beat, Ace aimed his gun towards the stranger, who he now noticed was missing an arm, and shot a few times.

“Would you mind not trying to kidnap my Boss in broad daylight? I’d really appreciate it.” He calmly said in almost perfect German, smiling as he walked towards them, raising his voice over the civilians rushing away from the scene.

Dorn grunted as he was apparently stopped in his tracks by an unknown force. He mumbled to himself and rubbed his face, grumbling unhappily. "I see. So, my Rose, you-" he stopped in his tracks as the world around him seemed to erupt into chaos. Ripping a gun out that was hidden underneath his coat, he unloaded four bullets at Rockefeller before pointing the gun at Ace. His dogs growled, two of them encircling Odiel while Maximus summoned Fields of Verdun and rushed at the Bitter Boys, beginning to stomp on them with speed exceeding that of a normal human.

He was torn. On the one hand, he did not much like Dorn. However... as of right now, Dorn was still their ally, although that might (and probably will) change very shortly. However, he was a known element. At least, to some degree. These lemons were coming from an unknown source with unknown motives. If Dorn tries to make a move, he can deal with that as it comes. If these lemons get their hands on Rosie... he had no idea what would happen.

Lemons... he was fighting Lemons...

He never thought he'd long for trench warfare again, yet here he was.

Dorn looked at Ace, eyes aimed down the barrel of his handgun, with a look of annoyance. "Are you quite finished here, ape? I grow weary of this." He looked back at Odiel with a clearly forced smile, although his eyes flitted back to Ace every so often, making sure he didn't make a move with his gun. "Now then, know your place. Don't forget yourself. You are but a clerk. I have helped you out of the kindness of my heart, but do not let yourself believe that means I owe you anything. Now, because of a number of circumstances, I am willing to forgive your transgression. Never say I did nothing for you, my dear. But you must let me go right this instant."

His dogs growled and moved closer to her, gnashing their teeth and barking. "I am afraid there will be consequences if you refuse." He kneeled down to the ground, placing his hand upon it as if to stabilize himself. Perhaps the moving gravel was not as easy to navigate as it had appeared?

Maximus swore under his breath. He wanted to aid Odiel, but the best way to do that right now was to contain the extraneous elements. These lemons... the one armed man... and the armed assailant to boot. Why had everything gone so bizarre right off the bat?

Now all that's missing is that inselaffe, and this set will be complete...

Dorn's other two dogs growled and ran off down the alleyway where the lemons were coming from, barking and looking around.

"Quickly, quickly..." While the one armed man was sure to keep making glances to Dorn's dog, and their master by extension, his gaze was drawn away for a moment by the sound of stampeding feet. Citizens pooled out of a nearby café, perhaps suddenly becoming aware of the conflict happening just outside. They didn't stay to watch, though, and most ran in the opposite direction. It meant he didn't need to worry about protecting anyone else. When Rockefeller turned back, it was to the scarred Nazi drawing a pistol to his targets shock. Perhaps it should have been expected, though. These were soldiers after all, so why wouldn't they be carrying weapons on their person? "Let's hope it ends at small arms." He thought, emerald waters sloshing from his glove while he hunkered forward to roll. The waters rose up to intercept the bullets as Dorn pulled the trigger, forming a wide but thin dish centered around his vitals. While they would have pierced normal waters quiet easily, these stretched like rubber for a moment, long enough for Rockefeller to flatten himself to avoid the bullets, before inevitably punching through. The man winced, splotches of red forming on his fatigues, specifically along his arm and side - the area the bullets would have hit if he hadn't acted - making shallow wounds, enough that he could tolerate them.

Feeling safe enough to cast a glance towards the retreating civilians, Rockfeller deflated a bit seeing Ace make his way towards him with his gun drawn. He couldn't catch a break! With the growing amount of water still on Dorn's side, Rockefeller had no way to defend against this attack... Under normal circumstances, that is, but this scene was as bizarre as they came. "Barrier up!" Rockefeller breathed deep and sharply, and the bands on his right arm sleeve and pants leg unfolded and popped into the air. A streak of yellow lightning consumed them, and they became rigid. The bullets from Ace struck the ribbons and bounced off, clattering to the ground as nothing but shells. "Cretin!" Meanwhile, the bullets that sailed over Rockfeller had had much of their momentum stolen and begun to fall, but were still flying and very much a threat. That meant Ace, who had been shooting from the side opposite Dorn, now had to deal with them. The one-armed man rolled and pivot himself around to keep two bands on Ace and the waters on Dorn's side with his back to the alleyway.

He was five feet away from Rosie now, but closer to the sidewalk opposite from where he started.

Liamcolordone.png

(Side note I'm going to be using each character's name just to help with fluidity, Liam still doesn't know them.)

Liam's Hope's for not getting into a huge confrontation quickly vanished as what seemed an endless amount of people came from nowhere to complicate things even more. Not only does he have to focus on the fight, but now William is calling him on his radio, which would normally be fine, but not when he is barely able to not get shot.

Liam had been running towards Rosie, but once Dorn had taken out a firearm, Liam changed directions, heading towards a nearby rooftop, both to get avoid the crossfire and to communicate with William. As he was running unnoticed through the crowd, the Lemons fought against Max. Well, it was more like Max was trying to squish the Lemons and they were ignoring him, only moving towards Dorn. Max would attempt to squish any of the Lemons, but they are only just too fast, avoiding any attacks made against them, but it does slow them down a considerable bit having to focus on not being squished.

Liam climbs up the nearest building, a bit off sweat forming on his forehead. There were way too many close calls. but he is finally able to talk to William. He takes out the Lemon he took a bite into previously and takes another one after making sure that he was hidden. Liam took off his radio and spoke into it. "Hey uh, first thing's first. I'm not going to be able to talk so just keep talking and telling me the situation, two make sure that no civilians or stray Nazis soldiers, and three, provide some back up when you get the chance." The sour from the Lemon causing him to strain as he says this. Liam wanted to ask what he was doing, how he was going to help, and why he wasn't resting, but he had to focus on the fight that is currently taking place.

Liam sat down catching his breath. He needed to come up with a plan, and fast. Liam looked around for anything that could help. His eyes fell on a car that was leaking gas. It must have been from when Rockefeller deflected the bullets, one of them had to have hit the car's gas tank. Seeing that all but a few citizens had vacated the area, Liam knew what he was going to do.

Liam finished off the Lemon in his hands and ran straight towards the car. He tore out a piece of paper from his notebook and took out a lighter (Which he only uses for specific situations instead of smoking) and light the piece of paper on fire. Liam threw it so it would fall onto the gas on the ground and ran like hell. The car was near-ish to everyone, but not close enough to where people would get caught in the explosion... maybe. Nonetheless, Liam ran like there was no tomorrow, passing Dorn, Rockefeller, and Max. Just as he passed Max, The piece of paper, now engulfed in flames, came into contact with the gas. Nearly instantly, the fire traveled up the gas leak and into the car and the second it entered the vehicle, the sound of it exploding rose above everything else. The car, now engulfed in flames, gave Liam the chance he needed. The Lemons dashed toward Dorn and were going to attack him as they were distracted.

"Hard copy. Mobilising, over."

In |Dead Dreams|'s hands were bundles of pebbles. With an open view and clear line of sight to the street several hundreds of feet away, the stand took aim with one hand and lined up a shot.

Ping. Ping. Ping.

Various stones sailed through the sky, too small for anyone to really see and travelling too fast to fall due to air drag. The soldiers nearing the corner of the street began to hear struggle, then shots and began to rush over. But they were swiftly interrupted as the soldier on the right keeled over. Something had shot through his right knee, causing him to collapse to the floor. The other soldier turned to his friend just in time to take a pebble to the shoulder. He too fell to the ground, much to the shock of the other civilians in the street who had all already began retreating at the sound of gunfire. An explosion sounded off in the street and a bright flash drew the officer's attention.

William caused |Dead Dreams| to change targets and the hand aimed up slightly to adjust the angle of fire.

Ping. Ping. Ping. Ping-ping-ping-ping-ping-ping-

Three triangulating shots. William had studied military tank tactics once and knew that long-range fire was calculated through three shots that estimated a rough area of accuracy for the tank to continue firing upon. William did this now to get a general area of aim as his accuracy was not accurate enough to pinpoint each individual precisely. The rest of the pebbles that flew were all roughly aimed at the same place, and the only give away would be the three stray pebbles the skittered across the street haphazardly.

"If you're by the officers, duck. Over." Liam's radio crackled with William's voice briefly.

And then the rain came.

Like a rapid-fire sniper, bullet-sized pebbles began to rain at a 45 degree angle directly at Dorn, Odiel and Max. As Rosie was low against the floor, William had accounted for the decline in the rock-bullets and was certain they would not hit her. After all, this mission would be pointless if he inadvertently killed her now.

Odiel, when she saw the gun, moved her hand so that it was instead pointing at Rockerfeller. Though she was too late to stop the bullets herself. Though Rockerfeller did manage to stop them from killing him. So, he was a Stand user too. This was getting complicated, though not unexpected. A healer in wartime was a valuable commodity, and Odiel knew there were other Stand users out there.

Dorn noticed that he'd be able to move again now that Odiel's had was pointing at Rockerfeller. Though it seemed that nobody else was trying to shoot him, Ace and Dorn were pointing guns at each other and ideally Odiel didn't want anybody to die today, so she was remaining vigilant. She wasn't scared of the dogs. She had more important things to worry about and she could handle some dogs. Also a car exploded. Odiel hoped Max was handling his end of things. The last thing she needed was to deal with more complications than there already were.

"You're a stranger in a new pond, Dorn," she replied coldly and with challenge in her eyes. "When somebody you claim to answer to comes down here in person, I'll show them respect. I'll obey their orders. But we all answer to Officers, and you're not an Officer. I may be a Clerk, but you're just the guy that trains the dogs. You're not above me. You don't outrank me. Don't pretend for a second that me refusing to let you go is treachery or insubordination, any more than you going back on the agreement to which you were brought here at my request. I'll deal with your superior gladly. Those with real authority don't have to threaten violence to get what they want. Maybe you...have something in writing?"

Odiel would have continued, but she immediately felt pain. Her back felt like it was being stabbed or shot and she put a wall up, before turning round to see who or what was attacking her. She only had two wounds, one in the shoulder and one in the hip. They hurt like hell, but she could still stand. There, on top of the cathedral, was the same stand that had attacked them at the hospital. And it would see the pebbles bouncing off the empty space in front of her, which was also, due to the angle, protecting Dorn.

"Scheiße! Whatever you do, don't look away from that stand! I've seen it before. We're in trouble!"

Ace stopped in the middle of the road as he aimed his gun in return towards Dorn, the suit guy was dealing with the little things, so that was less trouble for him. Ape!? Ace thought as he forced himself to continue smiling after being so blatantly insulted, however, it quickly became genuine as he heard him speak, it was clear that the cripple wasn’t on their side, and the others were allied, but didn’t trust each other, or at least, the one with the gun.

He didn’t have time to think about it too much, however, as the bullets that Rockefeller repelled were falling on him, without minding them too much, Heavensent appeared behind him and with a quick swipe of his arm all the bullets disappeared from the air. Heavensent stayed behind Ace with his palms open, ready for anything that would come his way. Returning his focus on Dorn he finally noticed the gravel under him, he quickly made the connection between him and Rosie’s cuffs. It was obvious he had some level of control over the concrete, but now was kneeling, why would he need to kneel now when he had no problems standing.

Ace eyes opened wide as he realized what it could mean, based on their earlier conversation, the woman that was keeping him there wasn’t keeping him at bay anymore, and the suit guy was still attacking the little things. He quickly focused on aiming his gun towards Dorn, but the surprise of an explosion was enough to distract him, he was already on edge because of the unwanted party and the possible attack of Dorn, and the following rain of pebbles didn’t help either. He wasn’t expecting the other two to move, but Ace needed to stop him. Noticing the small army from earlier, he shot all the remaining bullets towards Dorn, hoping that he’d have trouble being attacked from more than one side. He decided to ignore the warning from the woman about the other… stand? He felt that Dorn was the bigger threat to Rosie right now, a dangerous bet he was willing to take.

Discarding his gun, his smile was now gone, replaced by a stern gaze over Dorn, ready to act with his stand for any kind of movement from him or the lemon things, even though they were going for Dorn, he still didn’t trust them fully. “The name’s Ace, I’m her affiliate, if you will. I’ll cooperate with you, on two conditions. One, you don’t take her anywhere. And two, he leaves. Got it?” He said towards the other two, he wasn’t expecting them to accept, but still, it was worth a try. “Oh, and you’ll need to trust me on this one.” He said to Rockefeller, remembering he was even there.

Maximus growled as the Lemons bypassed him. He couldn't appear to stop the damn things, they moved fast. Far too fast. However, he had an idea. If they were simply going to go after Dorn, there seemed to be nothing he could do to stop them. He hadn't been adequately prepared for their speed. However, next time, he would be ready.

He darted off to his left, getting on the opposite side of Rosie to intercept the Lemons if they made a move. He kept enough space to not threaten Dorn, but he was ready to move if need be. As he did, however, a nearby car exploded. Baffled, he turned to face the car, but his proximity allowed him to notice a detail most people wouldn't.

An individual fleeing. Right in front of him.

Dorn reeled from the explosion, a hand covering his face from the heat. "What in the..." He snarled and turned to face Odiel. "Now listen, I'll have you know that I-" he gasped as a small object pierced her body. Quickly, a concrete shield formed up, and it became apparent why he was kneeling. A waist high wall would have done little before, but now it was all he needed to protect himself from the hail of "bullets".

With great speed, Max pounced on the man, the rocks pinging harmlessly against him. His increased strength and speed thanks to Fields of Verdun allowed him to leap an impossible distance in a short time. "Ms Krupps! Stop the lemons, if you can! I must deal with this man!"

Angelica Giovanna ~ Timid Beginnings

Just last night, the post-teen Italian girl arrived in the small town of Locranan. Seeing the state of the war, and the German presence in France, Angelica decided to keep her anti-Axis thoughts to herself. As well as keep mainly to the underground subway system, where German officers were leagues less present. Her soft leather shoes kept her from making much noise as she trounced about the subway system, and her short red skirt had her almost shivering in the underground cold. It was certainly worse than the slightly-chill autumn nights in southern Italy, where she was from. After all, the closer to the equator you are, the milder the temperature swings.

She brandished a flashlight in front of herself, keeping an eye on the tracks stretching ahead of and behind herself. The last thing she wanted was to trip over the tracks and become immobilized while a train is strolling by. That would be undoubtedly painful. Additionally, she didn't want to be spied upon either, and a flashlight was perhaps the best way to spot potential eavesdroppers. Right? At least, Angelica thought so.

She got the distinct feeling, when she entered this town, that something wasn't right. Like there was a certain presence here that was never felt in Italy. Like someone was watching her and tracking her movements. Otherwise, she would've felt fine parading across the winding streets and avenues of Locranan. But some nagging feeling told her that wasn't exactly safe. She blamed it on the heavy Nazi presence here, and retreated to the subways to avoid confrontation. German wasn't a language she was familiar with either way, she was more familiar with French- hence the destination as far from German borders as possible in France.

So now, here she is, waltzing through an underground corridor two thousand kilometers from her hometown in Southern Italy, all the way in Eastern France, in a little town called Locranan. "Santo cielo!" <Good grief!> she uttered, realizing the ordeal she's in. She was too busy realizing the ordeal to notice she perhaps wasn't entirely alone in the subway system...

As Liam was running away, he felt a large thud and fell against the ground. The paper hitting the oil must have made him visible again. Silently cursing himself, he turned around to face Max. He was backed into corner and he didn't have any plan right now so he went back to the tried and true tactic, acting like he knows nothing. "Ahh! What's going on! Who are you people! Why am I being attacked! Please leave me alone!!" It was a really embarrassing tactic, but he couldn't afford to be captured in this situation.

Meanwhile, the Bitter Boys would have just gotten to Dorn, their small and nimble bodies, dodging the rocks with speed. As they get to Dorn one of them would leap towards Dorn's exposed side, baring it's teeth and about to take a chunk out of him, 19 others soon following.

Back at the subway station, Adelaide would be pacing around the room. She wanted to do something meaningful but had no idea to actually help. She eventually decided that she would just go for a walk to try and clear her head.

Odiel saw the lemons out of the corner of her eye. She couldn't risk moving her Wall while that stand was up there, but she didn't know if Dorn had abilities to fight the lemon creatures. But she did. The stranger was trying to make some sort of deal. "Trust?" She asked. "Asking an awful lot of us right now. Maybe if you help us create a situation where we can actually talk, we could talk."

"Dorn!" she then called out, still looking straight ahead. "Keep your eye on that Stand on the cathedral roof! It can't attack if we look at it! i'm going to move!"

Odiel then spun round, briefly stumbling from the pain in her hip, before her stand emerged from her. It was a large, floating rectangular humanoid figure, with skin that looked like white brick. Its arms were large and barrel-like. Instead of hands, its arms ended in large solid slabs. And it eyes stretched across the width of its face and were glowing purple.

"The Wall!" Odiel called out, before pointing at the lemons that were now getting very close to Dorn. The stand closed the distance very fast, and struck a blow at the lemon closest to Dorn, sending it flying away. Odiel wasn't sure if her stand as strong enough to kill the lemons, but it would try, and at the very least they could keep Dorn safe. She hoped.

The Wall then launched a tirade of punches at the lemons that were too close.

|Dead Dreams| had stopped firing once Odiel had started looking at it. Apparently, she was one of the ones that German officer had told about William's stand. It didn't matter, however, soon another window of opportunity came as she tore her gaze away to focus her attention elsewhere in the street. Capitalising on this error and before Dorn could swing his gaze around to stare at the stand, |Dead Dreams| was about to beginning the rapid-fire sharpshooting when it paused again. Although Odiel had looked away and none of the stand users in the street appeared to be looking in its direction, someone was still observing the stand. There was another player on the field and they could see William's stand. He had his stand sweep its gaze about the surrounding area, attempting to discern any who appeared to be staring. Things were beginning to get dangerous.

William, back in the subway, was startled as he heard the sound of creeping footsteps nearby. Snapping out of his stupor, William slowly turned his head in the direction he had heard it from and noticed a woman with a flashlight making her way along. This wasn't Adelaide and Liam and had told him that no one else would be coming into this part of the subway aside from her and him. So... who the hell was this?

William's eyes darted to the other corner of the room where Liam's table and chairs rested. The British officer's gun and clips were over there, along with his combat knife. Liam hadn't trusted him with them yet, much to William's ire. It was perhaps not of particularly well-thought out security to have simply left the items on the table nearby, but Liam probably understood that William was in no shape for moving about. Hell, the man could barely stand up, never mind walk across the room with speed. With |Dead Dreams| currently stood atop the cathedral above ground, and it would still take a few seconds before it could return to him. That was enough time for a bullet to travel from that girl and to...

Unwilling to make any sudden moves in case he was noticed from his location on the sofa against the far wall, William slowly edged his hand over to the radio he had placed on the table beside him. If he could reach Adelaide's radio without alerting this intruder, she could call help to his part of the subway without placing himself in danger.

Angelica Giovanna ~ First Contact

Angelica stopped, coming onto a station of the subway. The way it was a lot less populated than she had expected, she suspected the subway system was a little bit abandoned. And with the flashlight casting long shadows on the walls and floor, it was starting to get creepy. Maybe hiding out in the subways for a while was a bad idea. Something whispered to her that her instincts were more right than she could imagine. Terribly right. Unfathomably right. She feared that something.

There was... furniture in this subway station. Well, perhaps it wasn't so extraordinary- anyone could've taken up residence in this abandoned subway. It also seemed like there wasn't anyone around to stop her, and she's been walking for a while... She might as well just set the flashlight down and take a breather. Sitting down onto a chair, Angelica dropped the flashlight into the grasp of a ghostly tentacle. It curled around the grip of the flashlight, hiding it under coils of purple, chiseled scales. What little underside had been exposed before it clung to the flashlight was a stark, pale yellow to the outer scales' shimmering, midnight purple hues. A bit of ectoplasmic slime dripped from the tentacle, sticking to the floor for a moment before dissipating. The flashlight was slid into Angelica's pocket as she lounged on the chair, and the tentacle vanished as quickly as it had appeared.

She certainly didn't seem to either notice or care about the tentacle that had appeared, or she was intimately familiar with it, to the point of not being the least perturbed of its appearances, wherever they may be. She looked almost ready to fetch a cigarette, with that look of nonchalance and boredom all over her face. And indeed, she fetched something- a little chocolate treat. It was wrapped in colorful yellow packaging, with a purple brand on the front of it. She seemed to enjoy the chocolatey treat, as the tentacle slithered from some unseen corner and snatched up the wrapper, slithering back into obscurity.

What an oblivious girl.

Locked in place,|Dead Dreams| scanned the area for possible stand users but couldn't find anyone obvious. Two birds circled overhead and there was a rabbit trailing in some alley. They were of no concern. Down the road, two men exited a church together. One seemed to be some kind of pastor and the other simply well-dressed. They were not looking in the direction of |Dead Dreams| and were thus ignorable. That left the group of individuals standing at the opposite side of the street to the cathedral. Five french civilians and a Nazi patrol officer.

Of course, William immediately suspected the German. But then his special intelligence training kicked in through the pain. Was that too convenient? What if one of the citizens were secretly a stand user pretending to be clueless? His stand's ability was only negated when a person or stand could see it, or in other words if they could notice him. Mere peripherals were not enough. One of them definitely knew that |Dead Dreams| was there. William decided to conduct a test.

Since his stand's ability required the observation of another person, it proves able to use its ability during the time it takes a person to blink. William did not have the luxury of having |Dead Dreams| sit around trying to figure out who it was, he needed it back in the subway to protect him from the sudden intruder he was charged with. So the answer was simple. Each civilian, and the Nazi, would blink at random intervals. Since only the stand user's blink-time would allow |Dead Dreams| to use its ability, William just had to watch for who was blinking while his stand could move.

And then it didn't happen. |Dead Dreams| remained under observation while watching for each individual as they blinked. William grit his teeth, his stand still hadn't regained its ability. Either there was someone else observing him from a hidden vantage point, or it was the work of an enemy stand. Regardless, he recalled |Dead Dreams| back. William had peaked at the intruder and noticed that it was actually a she and the she had a stand. It was clear from the strange tentacles that were surreptitiously secluded in the shadows of the furniture. This situation was becoming increasingly dangerous; was she an assassin sent to kill him? Had the Nazis finally decided to send a specialist?

Back in the subway, blessed with Rank A speed, |Dead Dreams| was now inside the station. William kept low on his sofa again so as to not be spotted. The lights were off right now, but emergency lighting still pulsed and flickered in halogen strips to provide dull white and red hues in places. This was somewhat favourable, but there were only three entrances to the central corridor from the platform they were on and the one closest to William had been bricked up. His intruder was by the central exit, meaning there would be no escape this time. Despite his very poor health, William would have to fight once again.

Out of the corner of Angelica's eye, the girl would notice a shadow move out of view by the far entrance at the other end of the platform. Located between the central exit and the bricked up exit where William was, he hoped to at least lead the girl away from himself first. If she found him, he would be more than mission-burned.

Angelica Giovanna ~ Not Alone

The girl stood up immediately, eyes locked onto where that shadow had shifted. Next to her, around a meter's length of ghostly tentacle was raised like a cobra, ready and waiting to strike. Its presumably-soft yellow underside partially shielded by the scaly backside with the tip of the tentacle curled downwards. The way it hovered next to Angelica, its pseudo-focus directed at the exact same spot of ordinary subway station wall, made it painfully obvious, if it wasn't before, that this was the girl's Stand. But this wasn't the girl's focus.

Slowly, and with the tentacle in tow, Angelica stalked to the spot where she saw something move. Somewhere beyond the stairs of this subway exit in front of her, someone must be stalking her. She wasn't particularly looking forward to getting caught unawares by a potential German patrol noticing these tunnels. It wouldn't be difficult for them to arrest her for loitering or trespassing, and she got the feeling she most certainly was trespassing. The last thing she wants- after a firing squad- is getting tossed behind bars. She could hardly imagine what a girl like her would do in a place like that.

She shone her flashlight up the stairs, peering down as far as her eyes would let her. It didn't seem to yield anything of note, but she wasn't dropping her guard just yet. She took a few hesitant steps up the staires, and asked, this time in simple French, "Bonjour? Qui est là? (Hello? Who's there?)"

The sound vanished through the subway exit, but she didn't stick around to see if anyone reacted to it, retreating back to the subway station at large. She sat down in a corner and watched as much of the station as she could on her own. The tentacle that composed her Stand curled around her midsection, in either a possessive maneuver by the sentient Stand, or a defensive maneuver by the girl herself. Whatever it was, it couldn't be particularly effective at blocking anything major, given the Stand's width.

"W-Who's... who's..." A voice echoed in the distance, perhaps her own. It was too far to tell. And then suddenly, from right behind her:

"There."

A hand almost seemed to teleport onto Angelica's shoulder. It was rough and cold to the touch, like sanded stone. Its grip was slightly tight and uncomfortable, but not particularly painful. Despite the presence of this hand, Angelica would detect no obvious sounds being made behind her. Things like breathing or the shuffling of clothes were not present. Clearly, she had been ambushed by another stand.

After a moment, |Dead Dreams| pushed the girl hard so that she were thrown forwards and hopefully into the train tracks before them. If she retaliated, the stand was prepared to move back up the stairs in an instant.

Angelica Giovanna ~ High Stakes

Angelica looks from side to side, keeping a keen eye on much of the subway station. She could've sworn someone had disappeared up those stairs, but she saw nothing when she investigated...

R U N .

She froze, eyes wide, ready to bolt, when Dead Dreams grabbed her by the shoulder. The whispering had never been so... clear, before. Never so loud, all-encompassing, and mere moments before being apprehended. She knew she shouldn't have hung around here, these are probably Nazis. She was about to look over her shoulder when the person shoved her, toppling her immediately. Mistake number two, squatting right next to these stairs where anyone could just push her over.

Tumbling and scraping her knees on the concrete of the subway station, Angelica simply let herself come to a stop before staggering to her feet. Shakily, she looked to where the person was just moments before, but they seem to have disappeared. Where the hell could they have gone!? Now she's on high alert. They couldn't have gotten very far, she had to track them down and figure out just what they're doing, if they're a threat, why they're targeting her, all those questions. They had answers, and she wanted them.

"Angelica Giovanna. Far from Italy, aren't you?"

Supporting himself on the corner of the sofa, William had doggedly gotten to his feet despite the waves of pain emanating from his torso. After having used his stand's ability on the girl, he had learnt all he needed to know to make the correct choices in this scenario. This girl was not a German assassin or even a German to begin with. While Italy had allied itself to the Nazi regime, it appeared this girl did not share her country's values. In fact, she had no loyalties to anyone apparently. She truly had no reason to be here that it was almost suspicious.

"Born on the 24th of November 1923 in Sicily, Syracuse to a Riccardo and Silvana Giovanna. You are right-handed, enjoy chocolates and freeze when put under pressure. You spent much of your childhood exploring the Roman ruins and lived a fairly liberal lifestyle roughing up the other kids upon discovering Day Tripper."

William was limping towards Angelica now, a determined gaze fixated on her from across the platform. The investigative nature within him burned as he hobbled forth, desiring to find out more from this person. She apparently held concerns as to what the purpose of |Day Tripper| even was. Luckily, William now knew the scope of her stand, how she usually used it in combat and how effective it was. He held the advantage now.

"You feel your country has made a mistake allying with the Nazis, consequently taking a plane to a city slightly west of here and travelling to Locronan to... play the vigilante, I assume?"

That was the issue. While William could access her memories, he was not a telepath. He couldn't tell what she was thinking and that was what bothered him. Her plan seemed to be to just try and make a difference in a completely random city in France. It was rash, idealistic and ultimately foolish. William theorised that she must have some ulterior motive for being right here, right now. Or maybe she was just an idiot. William continued to walk forward through grit teeth until he had reached the central exit and was halfway across the platform. He stopped there.

"And finally," William extended his hand past the corner of the exit so that Angelica couldn't see it. A second later, he pulled his hand back and in his grasp was the half-eaten chocolate bar Angelica had been holding a literal second ago.

"You have never met another stand user before."

Angelica Giovanna ~ Sudden Interrogation

"Angelica Giovanna. Far from Italy, aren't you?"

The girl froze solid where she stood, eyes locked to the man now in front of her. She noticed the limp, and figured that if he decided to go head to head with her, she would be able to come out on top. A simple matter of catching him unawares. Especially with the help of--

"Born on the 24th of November, 1923 in Sicily, Syracuse to a Riccardo and Silvana Giovanna."

Her thoughts were stopped in their tracks by the man's statements. They were broad on their own- anyone could guess the girl's heritage- but together they knitted a picture that was terrifyingly accurate. How long has he been tracking her, waiting for her to trap herself in a place like this? What did he have planned for her? Why did he... how did he know any of this about her?

"You spent much of your childhood exploring the Roman ruins and lived a fairly liberal lifestyle roughing up the other kids upon discovering Day Tripper."

Her secret, spilled to the open so easily. She felt... uniquely vulnerable, and not in a good way. Nobody could see it except her, how could he have possibly known about it, let alone guess what she called it? Her heart was pounding against her chest- perhaps it wasn't so stacked in her favor after all.

"You feel your country made a mistake allying with the Nazis, consequently taking a plane to a city slightly west of here and traveling to Locronan to... play the vigilante, I assume?"

Not only did he know about her secret, to which she told no one, but he knew why she was here. He was undoubtedly some local police force, based on the French, and the way he spoke told her she was in deeeep trouble. Day Tripper vanished from next to Angelica, as she cautiously closed the distance. She tried to make it not obvious that she had stopped precisely ten meters away from the man.

"And finally,"

The Stand reappeared, slithering out of the concrete from just behind William, slowly and carefully coiling around his leg without coming in contact. At her whim, the coils could tighten and root the man to the spot, letting her get away. It hesitated in its coiling, however, when the man finished in a way that could only imply she has met with someone just like her-

"You have never met another stand user before."

Is that what it's called? A "Stand"? She realized at the same time that the chocolate she wasn't even close to being done with had vanished from her hand, and was now in his possession. What a sly, sneaky bastard. Of course, it was a tactic to demoralize her and get her thinking he has her totally out-maneuvered. But, even if he knew about it, he couldn't anticipate Dar Tripper's moves. Nobody's ever been able to even see it before, she was confident she had this entire situation under control. Under control, and not backed into a corner at all. As soon as he dropped his guard, Day Tripper would act and she would run. She just needed to catch him enough off-guard...

She took a breath, steadying herself and staring him down, ready to bluff her way out of here if at all possible. She chuckled and responded, "Je t'ai finalement attiré où je te veux...! (I finally lured you where I want you...!)"
