I wouldn't presume to speak on anyone's behalf, but I personally don't mind multiple posts back to back, particularly if you're part of an IC conversation. But if you ever REALLY wanna post again then and aren't sure, I'd say just pop a question to Genii Genii to see if its okay. Meg is very interesting and compelling BTW so honestly just ignore me because I'm interaction-fiending right now. <3
Oh, my gods, that is so nice of you to say. Thank you!! 😊 After my first post I realized a) I'm rusty and b) I may be addicted to rping again.

I'll definitely ask Genii if it's okay next time. I was more worried about blocking Geenymoo out than anything you know?

Yes, I think it's ok to post more often if a conversation is going on between a couple of characters. 😊

I think for new recruits it's good to get their signup out of the way, then they can start introducing themselves to any Hunters that may be hanging around (or go brood in a dark corner if that's their thing lol). 😅

Stan is the welcome committee, but he'll be joining Xenophon and Fain on their quest to the ruins soon. (I'll send him over to join Fain eventually soulofeden soulofeden ))

No worries over here at all! I'm a big proponent of having things play out naturally in RPs, so I've just been enjoying reading the posts between you all for the morning scene :csmile:

Genii Genii Do you have anything planned in regards to Herne? Are they still worshipped?
Oh yes, I was wondering about this myself yesterday.

I'm roughly basing Herne on Cernunnos, so they're a 'Lord (or lady) of the wild things'. Basically a nature God. 😊🌳

The Hunters might come across old shrines, ruins or small totems dedicated to Herne, but perhaps it's a god who isn't worshiped much these days?

In my head, I imagine Herne welcomed the first (humanoid) settlers to the area, but eventually retired/hid up in the Wild Lands?

More than happy to have some ideas thrown my way. 😁

I studied this and several other Celtic deities at Uni and you don't understand how hard I'm trying not to hit a backflip right now.

Anthropologists would possibly classify the beliefs of Xenophon's people as paleo-theistic. The Primordial Flame, for lack of better expression, is the totality of pure minotaur life energy. They believe that it has existed since the creation of the universe. When a minotaur is born, a part of the Flame residents in that being. Upon death, that part rejoins the whole. However, the flames that reside in the dishonored are prevented from rejoining and wander aimlessly for eternity.

So that makes at least 3 faith systems identified thus far, is this correct? Xenophon's flame, Hartland's (possibly diminished) Henra worship, and Adolphus's faith?

Typing on phone so apologies in advance iif autocorrect doesn't know wtf these words mean. > w <)/

...so, I mostly asked because I was thinking of having her do the equivalent of crossing herself at the resurrection part. My only thought was something silly looking, like making fake horns like a stag (open hand, thumb on head) or just 2 fists, to show she was hornless. Idk. I just had her say, "holy Herne." It could just as easily be a colloquialism--like when many people nowadays say, "Good god" or whatever, they aren't praising a diety?

I'd originally thought that she'd be raised religious, but why would she be species-ist if her god was a deer?

Btw, Pokeking Pokeking I wanted to make sure that you knew I love your character. I'm just trying to have Meg have a lot of internalized hatred for her ears, which reflects into human supremecy. Like the rest of her is okay. She's okay in spite of her ears.

Also, Oli Beju Oli Beju , I think CalamityQueller CalamityQueller 's character Alienor has some sort of god as a paladin.

Thanks for letting me know! Jotting down the 4th deity because I completely forgot that!

To fill out your deity list Oli Beju Oli Beju ,

soulofeden soulofeden mentions a god named Cyric that's worshiped in her bio too.

I'm not sure if ShredKnives ShredKnives ' character, Heilang counts as 'religion.' They are described as divine.
I get it, it could be mutually exclusive since I never established Heilang as something that's worshipped, only something more along the lines of "wielding incomprehensible power".

If the situation calls for it though, Rinzi could genuflect before the Heilang and turn the beast into a religious icon :^)

Fain believes in all of the gods mentioned in D&D lore....just to add one more faith system 😅 Her patron god is the goddess Leira, however -- the chaotic neutral goddess of illusion. Another god is also vital to her backstory -- Cyric, the chaotic evil god of lies.

Also Pokeking Pokeking if you don't mind my asking -- and forgive me if it's insensitive -- but is Xenophon bisexual? I noticed that he obviously has feelings for this other fellow from his homeland, but in an earlier narrative, he mentioned the possibility of being with a woman. I was just curious is all! :csmile:

*Is actually trash and doesn't play DnD...*

I uh... noted down all the deities mentioned... heh.
Don't look at me...

Oh no hahaha don't worry about that!! There's literally dozens, maybe even hundreds, especially if you're considering all of the gods from the first edition to the fifth (and current) edition! Those two gods I mentioned before are really the only two that I've referenced so far 😅

But also memeing aside: Thank you guys for clarifying! So...

Henra Worship (Nature, Man and Beasts??)
Primordial Flame of the Minotaurs
Adolphus's Faith (Militant)
Paladin Deity (WIll have to look further at this one for deets)
Heilang (Possibly)
Leira (C/N Deity of Illusion)
Cyric (C/E Deity of Lies)
Zivilyn (Neutral Wisdom)

I'm looking at these and they seem to make for an actually pretty decent cohesive pantheon, despite the fact that most of them are completely unrelated. Absent a love deity and a death deity, the six or seven already mentioned are pretty interesting. Also this is just an observation, not a statement as to whether or not more should be added. Only adding these for posterity for lore purposes and will continue to jot them down as needed! <3

I'm totally imaging that bench giving out. 😂
Yeah I was gonna say, lol there's some heavy-duty people sitting in these taverns, the tabs for broken beds and furniture alone must be through the roof. 🤣 And that arm wrestling match has to happen at some point. <3 PLACE YA BETS.

See, I said this, and then immediately afterwards I included a third god in my most recent post :angrypuff: Zivilyn, for reference, is the true neutral god of wisdom.
