Raelynn Daniels
Rae made her way quickly down 16 flights of stairs heading straight for the basement. Free period meant she could spend time practicing her field skills, this was something she wouldn't ever be able to learn from a book and felt greatly behind the rest of her class. Rae was great with weapons and tools, but under pressure she tended to cave. She had a great natural ability in combat, but fear always crept in. Adjusting the strap of her backpack on her back she gently laid a hand on the door, pushing it wide open and going in.
Rae desperately wanted to work on archery, but she knew that wasn't going to be a main topic in the following combat classes. Rae hated walking into anything without any prior practice. She had no interest in becoming the fool of the class when she knew she was so much better than that. Rae eyed the knives sitting within a glass case, probably smart within a school full of assassins, but everyone had their own weapons so it did it really make much of a difference?
She dragged her fingers along the top of the glass admiring the tools within. A small smirk crossed her face, biting the corner of her lower lip. What she would give to have the code to practice with these. The handle looked to be so well made, and the steal of the knife looking like it could slice someones flesh so smoothly.
Rae shook the thoughts from her head, she hated thinking like that. A small bit of her wished she could go back to her simple innocence, before she went down the path of killing. But she was doing it for the good of others, right? Taking fate into her own hands, to make the world a better place, for kids like her to grow up.
Rae took her eyes off the knives and walked towards the mats in the middle of the room. A few with fighting dummies set up at the end of them. Rae dropped her hands to the side shaking them out beside her. She took a deep breath in lifting her head to face the dummy. Bouncing on her toes she started to rev herself up. Rae was locked in now, closing her fists she swung, making contact with the dummy. Jumping back she began to get into a rhythm, punch left, punch right, kick, left, right, kick. She became totally unaware of her surroundings.
