Elijah 7.jpg

Elijah watched the exchange between Thor, Evelyn, and Ginny. Under different circumstances, he might be happy to discuss the theological quandary with a djinn, a god, and his former partner. As it happened, his mind was already on the task ahead of them. He couldn't bring himself to share Thor's casual nonchalance about taking down a building full of demons on a rescue mission at a Horseman's behest, no less. He hadn't been on a Hunt since Pan's Trial... though he had been the hunted in that situation. The memory sent a slight spike of adrenaline through him; he was happy to distract himself with the loaded magazine that Evelyn handed him. He smirked at the sight of a Devil's Trap carved into the tip of each projectile; it was a practice he had taught to Will after partnering up with him here in the States.

William 2.jpg

William strode away from the group -- hoping Thor wouldn't leave him behind in his haste to smite demons -- and approached Chase and Emile where they stood with Christopher. "I'm sorry about this. I wanted to be here to greet you all personally and help you settle in," he said, lips pursed. "But a hunt came up on short notice. Demons. If all goes well, we'll be back before long and all be better off for it. We can talk then." With a nod toward the two of them, he turned on his heel to jog back to where the others waited -- they were in the Thundergod's hands, now.

Thor looked at Evelyn with a look that was almost disappointed and said "Fine, I shall refrain from destroying them then. While you lock them in their vessels I will make sure they can't leave, preventing some low-level demons from taking off is thankfully beyond my capabilities, I shall use magic to trap them in the building they're holed up in. In any case I shall take everyone there now, off we go!" He finished the last part of the sentence with particular enthusiam and raised his arms to the sky, invoking his powers. The group then vanished in a flash of white light.

They emerged outside what looked to be an old industrial warehouse in a small and deserted parking lot. The building was a sad sight, it looked like it had been deserted for a few decades and the brick walls were in disrepair. Thor instantly closed his eyes and focused his power on keeping the demons trapped, using an old wordless spell. Then a sudden movement made them open. A demon, likely a sentry or just one who happened to be outside, made a run for it. Quick as a cat Thor made a throwing motion with his arm and cast a lightning bolt at the running demon, the bolt crashing into his side with a vicious force and launching him sideways into the brick wall. "Well there goes the element of surprise." He stated in a rather amused tone that showed he didn't really care, rather preferred it that way. With a broad smile on his lips he briefly turned his head around to face his allies "I shall make a door for us, bear with me just one second."

The demon, that looked like an ordinary American countryside hillbilly, had just managed to stumble unsteadily stumble up on his feet as Thor reached him. Rather than exchange pleasantries Thor opted to just front kick the demon in the chest with such force that he flew right through the already damaged brick wall, leaving a human-sized hole and a cloud of dust in it's place. Being in a spectacular mood, the normally stoic Deity even felt like cracking a joke and yelled "Housekeeping!" into the warehouse.

Chester made a face as Evelyn talked about her additional objective. That meant restraint, and the horseman had been looking forward to not only letting lose himself, but seeing the Thunder God do the same.
"Ah, well." He thought. "You can't have it all your own way."
Though he wasn't interested in the philosophical discussion the others were having, it did seem to have an effect on Ginny. He gave the young djinn a quick smile and wink. It was a dangerous thing to get to caught up in trying to be something you weren't.
After the flash of Thor's portal died away, Chester took in a deep breath. Here he was. Stage one going smoothly so far. Thought there was a moment of annoyance that they had been spotted, Chaos grinned at the situations. The grin got bigger when Thor "made a door". He strolled through the new opening, eyeing a few scrambling demons with an unpleasant gleam in his eye.
"Well, well, well." The Horseman said, jovially. "What little pigs we have here."
in a blur, Chaos pulled two water balloons out of nowhere filled with holy water. with telekineticly assisted aim, he pegged both demons in the chest with the balloons, causing the holy water to spill over and burning them.
"Free victims, if you want 'em." He called to Evelyn.
His eyes swept the room, his senses feeling his trapped brother below.
"As per cliche, they're holding Lex in the basement. If you want bigger game, they'll probably be down their too."

Ginny is a bit disoriented, stumbling as she looks around at their new surroundings. Huh. She could make a home in a place like this. Patch it up a bit, get some insulation in place, it could be nice. She shakes her head, loading the devil trap clip into her handgun, and running into the hole in the wall.

Looks like Thor and Chester have the ground floor covered, and with what she hears from the horseman, they need to go down. Now… she could use the stairs… but there’s a weak spot she can see in the floor, and that’s much more convenient for her. She runs to it, and strikes down with her foot, wood splintering under the blow. She drops down, and starts firing on the demons within without a word. She’s glad for all the training she went through for this. Because this is terrifying, even with how quickly she’s incapacitating them.

Silently, she stood there waiting for the person guarding the gate to be done with his business. After all, who was she to interfere with members who actively partook in the development of this little privatized civilization. The concept was still taboo to her, but it wasn't unheard of. A good example was the more idegenous tribes she'd heard about during her time in Africa, they kind of had the same set-up. Close-off civilizations, hunterers, gatherers, warriors, craftsmen... This place didn't seem all to different, only less tribal and much more modernized and from the looks of it they also seemed to be much more welcoming to newcomers.

When the man was finished with his communities business he once again spared her a moment of his time which caused her to smile in appreciation, "A bite to eat sounds nice. And the name is Emilia." walking over, she threw her motorbike into neutral and began pushing it, "Lead the way."

"Sorry for being a hassle." He'd said with a small wave at Aaiden, Chris, and the stranger, while the apology was genuine his words and body language were almost relaxed because he wasn't too bothered about it, it wasn't necessarily their fault. He'd nodded at Emile's statement, but turned to see Will walking up before he could speak any further. At the mention of demons he couldn't help but glance over Will's shoulder at the retinue of people going. "Must be a hell of a group of demons to take a god with you." He said, half in jest. "Don't worry about it, you just owe me a hunt later."

Turning back to Emile and Aaiden, and stretched out a hand towards the former with the keys in them. "You want to go on ahead and make sure everything is ready while I see to Thomas?" While he knew Malcolm had it handled it wasn't something he could just ignore and let others handle, he was responsible for the hunter still being in the packs custody. "Rec Center isn't far, I can walk and still probably beat Malcolm there." He said, trying to let Emile know why he was handing the Toyota over to him. "Don't let his grumbling bother you if he starts, he does it with everyone." He joked, head turning slightly towards Aaiden. Knowing well that the two might not exactly get along. A hunter showing a Werewolf through the colony in which he lives, then the Werewolf who probably won't trust said hunter one bit. And both sitting beside each other in the vehicle, it was the start of a comedy if he'd ever heard one.

Arthur paused a moment at the question posed by the caged girl. "It does mean you'll have to return to the cage later." There was no point in lying to her about it - even he didn't have the say to prevent her future return. "I'm hoping that by showing the others that you can be trusted, outside of the cage, they'll let you remain outside of it." He came to the side of the cage and as Amethyst put her hands through he reached out to clasp a bracelet around each wrist. "I'm confident that these will work and suppress the entity from taking over while you're free of the cage." He nodded, seeing they were secure before unlocking the cage and opening it. "They cannot be removed; at least not by anyone but myself or one other - I suggest not making any attempts, the consequences of which could be bad." He paused a moment, frowning. "Do you have a can to aide you? Or do you need my arm?"

Evelyn wasn't phazed by the teleportation conducted by the god, as they arrived at their destination was waited for the others to recover, watching Thor and Chester head into the facility. "So much for this being a covert operation." She muttered, checking her pistol before sliding it back into it's holster - clearly unnecessary as the god and horsemen were enjoying their 'rampage.' She glance to Elijah without amusement. "Remember: only one funeral per person. Don't be greedy." She turned away and headed towards the warehouse to see what the gods leavings were - if there were any to be had.

"Pleasure meeting you Emilia," He nodded down the road and started walking along side her as they headed into the colony: first stop the gas bar. "So now that we have a little bit more time to chat ... What is your business?" He glanced at her briefly before looking ahead once again. "I just ask since not many end up here without an exacting purpose: and even then new people are once in a blue moon." As they wandered the colony was starting to come to life. Families leaving their homes for the day - either at work or school.

Emile hesitated as Chase suggested he get the pack settled while he checked after Thomas. He glanced briefly to Aaiden, the man standing there paitently waiting for a decision. "Fine." He didn't like it. Chase was part of his pack - even if the hunter-wolf didn't feel as though the Alpha's protection was meant for him as well. He begrudgingly took the keys and turned back towards the Toyota, casting a playful sneer over his shoulder as Chase playfully warned Aaiden.

Aaiden chuckled but shook his head. "He can't be as bad as Bruce is without coffee." He turned to head over to the car as well. "I already called Brendan," He called back without pausing. "He said he'll meet you there to deal with ... him."

Ashley-May finally managed to get Mackenzie into a bed at the back of the Clinic, the small hunter always being a hassle when she was drunk and tired. It wasn't lost on Ash in any way that Mac had been decent training for the responsibility of being a parent. She set up an IV and started the drip, looking back over the angry woman. "You need to get some sleep."

Mac rolled her eyes with a huff. "Yeah, that's not going to happen. You're wasting time and resources doing this." She returned Ash's cold stare with her own but knew better than to keep fighting - Ash had all day. "I can't sleep because I keep seeing it ... everything." She shrugged but continued. "That will happen, or might happen. What has been and will be. It's all in there and I can't un-see it."

"That's why you were drinking."

Mac nodded.

"Fine, I'll set you up with something to help you sleep and then when you're rested we're going to talk about this."

William wasn't particularly surprised to see Thor charge into the fray as he did -- the god had never been shy about his love for a "good scrap" and he was followed by Chester soon after. Ginny's willingness, however, surprised him. Will felt a small surge of pride seeing the young woman follow the deity and Horseman into the breach, but it was overcome with worry as well. This was her first hunt and demons were not foes to be trifled with. Will glanced briefly at the two incapacitated demons on the ground that had been doused with holy water courtesy of Chester. Focusing on them for a brief second, he reached out with his Grace in search of a human soul trapped inside their bodies. None. Expanding his "scan" to the inside of the building proper, the result was the same.

He turned back toward Elijah. "Husks. All of them. Don't take any chances," Will remarked tersely. It was a terminology the two had devised to distinguish between the vessels being possessed by demons. Those with the rightful owners still alive inside were "Captives" -- they were to be restrained and exorcised with the utmost caution. However, Captives were a something of a depressing rarity; demons sometimes possessed recently slain corpses or ran their vessels through a gauntlet of physical and spiritual abuse that the human inside died off somewhere along the way -- leaving nothing but a Husk, a "meat bag" for the demon to use as they pleased.

"You've got them?" Will asked, gesturing toward the two demons who would soon be recovering their wits. Elijah nodded and William wasted no time, sprinting into the building and brandishing the angel sword in-hand. It didn't take long for him to find the hole that Ginny had created, following the sound of echoing gunfire from below. William stepped into it, landing on the concrete below with a thud. Had he still been human, it likely would have been jarring on his knees. Instead, he was already scanning for targets: several demons had already fallen to Ginny's gunfire, flashes of light as the Devil's Trap bullets impacted their bodies and locked up their muscles, sending them tumbling to the ground.

One demon, not content to follow his comrades into the hail of bullets, extended his hand out to blast Ginny and Will with a wave of telekinetic energy, hoping to send them both crashing backwards. Will held fast, his Grace acting as a shield for the demon's power to crash against. He strode forward and the demon sneered, tearing a lead pipe from the wall nearby and rushing to meet him with a wild overhead swing. Will stepped forward, catching the bludgeon on its downward arc in his hand while his free hand shot forward, impaling the demon through the midsection with the angel sword. A scream filled the basement as white light filled the demon's vessel, shining outward from its mouth and eyes until it suddenly fell silent, going limp.

Elijah 7.jpg

Elijah shook his head at Evelyn's remark: a reminder of their old days in London together. "None, if we're lucky," he said, tossing her a burlap sack. The front of it was adorned in permanent ink in the shape of a Devil's Trap, while the bottom was fitted with a drawstring. He wasted no time in demonstrating its use, stepping up to the closest of the holy water-doused demons and sliding the bag over its head before pulling the drawstring tight even as the demon struggled against him. He then reached to his belt to remove a pair of wrought-iron shackles, likewise adorned with the trap sigil. Pinning the demon down with a knee in the small of its back, he brought its hands together and cuffed them.

Thor wasn't slow to follow Ginny or William into the basement, following through the hole Ginny had created, his shoes making a small bang as he landed on the concrete floor. As he walked past the girl he cast a glance at her "Are you trying to get yourself killed? Try to remember you are not immortal the next time you act as recklessly as me and the Horseman enjoying himself upstairs.". While he was all for boldness, an inexperienced hunter jumping down into a cellar by herself with only a gun just seemed stupid to the deity, even if she had been successful. While he thought she had been impressive considering her limited training, he wasn't about to let her know now. She needed to start slow.

Not stopping and waiting for a response he started making his way to an open door that led into what Thor thought was a hallway, however as he was about to walk through it he was met with a heavy blow from a crowbar that struck him right in his temple. A demon had been waiting right behind a door and struck Thor once more, this time striking him in his jaw and so hard that it caused the crowbar to bend slightly. Staggered the god stumbled back a few steps and spun around so that his back was facing his assailant, and the demon moved in to continue to batter him with the metal tool. "Impressive, but not nearly good enough." said Thor as he looked at Will with a smile. As the demon closed in, Thor loaded up with all his strength and spun around, feeling every muscle in his body explode as he loaded up power all the way from his legs to his fist as he threw a shovel hook aimed at the demon's body. It was a punch thrown by a god famed for his physical strength who had perfected his technique over millenia.

A sickening crunch could be heard right before the loud bang that almost sounded like an explosion as force of the punch literally lifted the demon off his feet with astounding speed and sent him through roof, or rather floor of the building. After a second or two he heard a second, slightly muffled, bang that made Thor assume that he had either struck the actual roof or just fallen down to the floor after his time in the air. He let out a heavy breath from the effort and looked at Will with a broad smile "That reminds me, I haven't had the pleasure to spar with you yet. Want to have a go later?"

"Thanks." He'd said simply in reply to Aaiden, whether the hunter was avoiding Thomas's name on purpose wasn't clear but Chase didn't think on it. Instead he stepped out of the way to allow the vehicle to pass. Then he started his trek towards the Rec Center, this was the first time he'd been alone in Vitae in a long time and he found it oddly relaxing. Maybe it was the fact that the'd been constantly around the pack who were always everywhere at the campground, giving him little to no alone time unless he went off into the woods on his own. He watched people he passed by, mostly curious to see what the colony's mood was but also to see how they reacted to seeing him. Not many would recognize him but he had been on the stage during the siege, so he knew some would and recognize which side he'd stood on.

As he neared the Rec Center he briefly thought on Brendan, the only interaction he could remember having specifically with the council member was around the time they'd gone to New York for that wonderfully horrible mission. Thinking back it was clear Mackenzie had been the Oracle back then during that interaction for how defensive he'd gotten with Brendan when she was involved. But he'd stuck around after the alliance with the Werewolves and some of the others spoke of him with at least mild praise so Chase had some sort of expectations. When he arrived he paused outside the building turning to look back towards the gates to watch for the other pack vehicles to pass through.

Giving a soft delicate smile she looked foward to the man who was leading her to the gas-pump while the civilians began their daily routines, whatever they may be. "I'm a... Collector of delicate material... Items that most people wouldn't believe to exist. Items of myth and legend. And - one I acquire the requested items - well - they get sold, either to the person who requested them or to the highest bidder if the original client doesn't want to keep his side of the deal." she continued to smile as she spoke, although, the last bit seemed to come out with a bit of venom on her tongue.

"But that's the exciting part of my job, usually I just relay information from point a. to point b. without question." she shrugs, "Safer that way I suppose... Anyway, what's you're job in all of this?"

Ashley-May waited at Mac's beside until the hunter was reasonably sound asleep, the low dosage of valum being enough to knock-out the already exhausted and partly inebriated. She checked over Mackenzie's vitals a final time before leaving the room and shutting out the lights behind her.
God loves you.
She quickly glanced around, searching for anyone nearby.
I love you too.
"Enough already," She hissed, heading for the back of the Clinic where the office was. She closed the door behind her. "I don't need your sales-pitch. I told you to keep it yourself when I'm around other people. I'm busy. Go away." She glared, at nothing, waiting for the voice to return but after a few minutes of silence it seemed as though it had listened to. She huffed and dropped down into the office chair, flipping over her text to continue her studies in prep for her upcoming exams.

Evelyn caught the burlap sack tossed by Elijah with ease. She watched the seasoned hunters demonstration of its application. "How .. frugal." She commented without inflection. She turned her attention to the second downed demon and put her newly acquired, albeit low-budget, equipment to use as Eli had shown. It was not lost on her in this moment how much her people would come to benefit working along side the American Hunters. North American was the Wild West when it came to hunting - none could tame it for any decent length of time; their own history proved that. To survive here they would need to adapt to a new way of living, which she was certain plenty of the more aristocratic members of the Men of Letters would frown upon it.

With the hood secured she removed her own pair of shackles, much like Elijahs, her were iron though had many more sigils than the demons trap - their use encompassed plenty of other supernatural beings beyond just the lowly demon. She could distinctly hear the chaos below them and she glanced to her former partner. "I suppose I should count myself lucky with two capture."

Aaiden and Emile headed to the hunter housing that had been rebuilt from an old motel; plenty of the hunters had been residing there prior to the pack arriving and now many of the dwellings were entirely empty following those that had left. "I hope you don't mind some neighbours." Aaiden attempted to start a conversation with the Alpha, but Emile only gave him a side long glance and a mumble of French so the hunter returned to silence. With the Toyota parked, Emile immediately started his walk of the perimeter of the building, leaving the hunter standing in the parking lot watching the remainder of the pack arrive and find their own spots to park.

At the REC centre Diffey and Brendan stood on the front stoop, their postures evident of tension between the pair of older councilmen. "It's not acceptable." Diffey shook his head, crossing his arm. "I won't accept it, and neither will the rest of the council."

Brendan sighed, defeated for the moment. "It's not like you have a choice," He paused as he saw Chase approaching. "We'll talk more about this later, Jon-" Diffey wasn't waiting, instead he turned to storm away. Brendan gathered himself and descended the steps to meet Chase. "Welcome, sorry I wasn't at the gates. Chris told me you were here, I hope your trip was uneventful."

Christopher raised an eyebrow as Emilia recounted what her profession was, without actually giving it a title. "So what you mean to tell me is: you're a spy and I'm a mall cop?" He chuckled, stepping up to one of the gas pumps and selecting premium - the only gas available within the colony walls. "Must be quite a life, " he continued, leaning against the pump after passing off the nozzle to her. "I just mind the gates. Make sure the community is safe enough and trespassers don't wander it. It's really not all that glamorous but it pays the bills for now." He waved to the station manager, who in-turned on the pump. "I'm guessing your detour here wasn't intentional - I can't think of anything mythical or legendary to retrieve from this place."

Ginny grunts as the demon throws her back against the wall, but thankfully Will takes it out before any real damage can be done. She hops back up to her feet, and nods to Thor. She thinks she was doing fine, but she also knows that Thor is much more experienced than she is, and she should probably just listen to him.

She moves closer to Will, firing on the first demon that comes through one of the doors, hitting her square in the middle of her chest. She nods to the door, raising an eyebrow at the other two. As chatty as she normally is, she seems very quiet now.

William withdrew the sword from the demon's body with a quick motion, allowing the husk of a body to fall to the ground in a heap. He turned to see Thor make short work of a demon of his own -- one that showed no sign of returning through the ceiling. He arched an eyebrow at the deity's question. "We all survive this, I'll go twelve rounds with you," he remarked flatly as Ginny approached and dropped yet another demon with an impressive show of marksmanship. He returned the woman's nod. "Stay behind us and watch our backs," he said. "Thor and I will go first."

Will made his way to the door, swinging it open. With it came another demonic guard, who leapt out from his vantage point just inside the corridor. William made to thrust the blade, only to have the demon wrap one arm around his and force its torso against his own, effectively pinning his weapon between them. The other hand came down soon after in an overhand strike, clutching a dagger. William's free hand instinctively shot out to catch the wrist, holding the knife in place as the two wrestled briefly. The demon's black eyes widened as its arm was forced back by the much stronger Nephilim until the appendage was bent backwards at an impossible angle, ligaments popping until the knife dropped to the ground with a clatter. What happened next was pure instinct: Will's hand moved from the now unarmed demon's to place his palm against the creature's forehead.

He felt the Grace inside him flare up and surge forth, white light shining out from the husk's eyes and mouth with the intensity of a spotlight, a haunting scream filling the corridor. As soon as it happened, it was over -- Will withdrew his hand and let the corpse fall to the floor, burnt-out eye sockets smoking. He stared at his own palm in near-disbelief before glancing back towards Thor and Ginny, swallowing deeply before shaking his head. "Let's keep moving."

Evelyn's haughty demeanor wasn't lost on Eli, prompting an eye roll from the man. "No billionaire benefactors to be had here. We hunters have to be resourceful. You'll adjust," he remarked dryly. As Evie stated that they likely wouldn't be taking any more captives, he glanced pointedly toward the building -- along with distant sound of gunfire and the occasional demonic scream. "Perhaps so." He made his way toward the front door, unsheathing his sword and glancing inside before turning back to his former partner with a slight smirk. "Shall we?"

Adelaide 2.jpg
Adelaide brought the Civic to a halt in the parking garage -- finding a parking space outside the apartment block itself had proven difficult. Taking the keys out of the ignition, she turned in her seat to face her wolf companions. "So, we want to be as discreet as possible in checking out the building. Our best bet is to ask the manager for a set of keys so we can do a tour; act like we're interested in moving in. This part of town..." she took a deep breath, barely hiding a faint smile. "It's probably best we play the part of a young couple. I need to be inside the building to feel her presence, maybe get a clue as to where best to conduct a ritual. So that leaves one of you outside on watch."

"I see that you are learning to wield your angelic powers." Thor noted as Will made short work of a demon, sounding pleased "We'll need them before this war is over.". As they rounded a corner, with Ginny behind them, they found their objective. There were just a few more demons ahead of them, and they were standing in front of what looked like a reinforced door with a magical seal on it. The Deity smiled "I think we've found our inmate." He studied the opponents in front of them, there were five. It wasn't too hard to spot the leader, as he yelled "Kill them!" and pointed at them.

As the closest demon who ran at them with a knife came a few feet away from Thor, he snapped his fingers, and the demon vaporized in a cloud of dust in a mere instant. "Hunting demons is much more fun when they're weaker than their opponents don't you agree Will? Their amazement is unending.” The demons behind the one turned to dust had stopped in their tracks, despite the furious yells from their leader calling them cowards. Thor began advancing and simply grabbed the first one with his right arm and threw him aside into the wall so hard it left an impression on it, calling "He's all yours!" to Will over the shouting. He then closed his fist and used telekinesis to cause a demon to fly up into the roof and remain there, pressed against it so hard he couldn't move. The demon looked on helplessly as Thor blasted apart the only remaining demon between the god and the leader with a thunderbolt. Thor decided to leave the demon in the roof for now, unsure how many prisoners they had taken upstairs. It wasn't too hard, all he had to do was maintain his focus, and as he wasn't going to keep him like this for centuries he was disciplined enough to sustain it.

He now turned his attention to the leader with a pleasant smile. The demon wore a leather jacket and jeans, and looked like your run-of-the-mill sunday biker. Or rather, that was the vessel he occupied. Despite knowing he was possibly outmatched, he seemed to pluck up his courage and made a defiant walk towards Thor that would have looked impressive. That is if Thor hadn't essentially swatted him away with a lazy overhand left that struck him like a hammer and sent him to the floor. "You know..." said Thor as he bent down and picked up the demon by the throat. "I have a problem..." he continued while proceeding to throw the demon into the door. As the now slightly blooded demon got up to his feet Thor closed in on him once more "I always have to take care in this world, so I do not break something - or someone. But I don't have to go easy on you, you supernatural creatures can take it, well to some extent but still. So they are always treasured moments where I can let loose somewhat."

Thor was upon the demon once more and threw a hard roundhouse kick to the demon's body that landed with a hard thud and sent him stumbling back, bent over and clutching his vessel's chest in pain. The deity followed and threw a straight cross slightly downwards that struck the demon right on his chin and sent him down on the floor once more. Thor lifted him up by the throat once more and pinned him against the wall with his left arm, while striking with thrice with two brutal right hooks and a straight punch to his nose, leaving his nose shattered and the left side of his face bloodied and starting to swell. The Thundergod slowly raised his arm so that the demon slid upwards against the wall until his feet no longer touched the ground, by now they were kicking and the demon was struggling desperately with both of his arms to remove Thor's arm that was restraining him with. Thinking he had now enjoyed himself enough, they were here on a mission after all, Thor looked over to Will "Think we should keep these two alive?"

She couldn't help but give a soft chuckle as he mentioned how her job was far more exciting than his, "I suppose at first look it can seem exciting, but once you get into the game it just becomes a chore... Most of the time the clients try and weasel their way out of paying and when I tell them to go fuck themselves I often get a lot of "Do you know who I am's" or "This isn't over's" and if the prick is the right kind of asshole I'll have a hitman sent after me..." she let out a deep sigh, "Anyway, like I said; it was exciting when I was younger but it quickly grew to become more of a burden over time... But! It's all I got and it pays well when it pays at all... So there's that." she continued to watch the numbers on the gas-pump rapidly raise until it came to a halt as a means of signifying that her tank was as full as it was going to get. "Thank you for this, really... Chris was it? Thank you Chris. I couldn't tell you the last time my tank was full and I'd had a hot meal."

"No big deal, though I won't pretend it wasn't a little concerning at first. But this is all last minute, so it is what it is." With the subject on hand he opted to ask about what he heard moments before Brendan greeted him. "Hope that wasn't about the pack moving in, was it?" He mentioned a little sheepishly not wanting to look like a complete ass that listens in on conversations, "Can't really turn the hearing part off." The man shrugged, it couldn't be helped he had heightened hearing and they'd been in range.

"No, I dont have a cane. I memorized paths and counted, for a time at least. Once it happened I began to be able to see again but it wasn't as I remembered." The girl seemed to nearly trip as she tried to step out of the cage on her own. Managing to save herself Amethyst regained her balanced before standing up straight. "I think I managed that kind of well. But that's about as far as my confidence stretches. Kind of upsetting to know I have to go back in the cage, I guess this is kinda like a house visit. The sort where you go to a foster home to find out whether or not you are going right back, the thought isn't pleasant. It beats the cage by a mile though."

Evelyn smirked, bemused by Elijah's scolding tone. Of course she'd adjust - as though she ever had an option in her life to do anything but. Someone out ranked her at the academy? adjust, adapt. Someone vying for her position within the Men of Letter? adapt. counter. The one and only time she had ever hesitated in her mission - and it had nearly cost her own life - was when she had been assigned to kill him. She regarded the sword he carried, of course it would be none other than his mentors. She said nothing, removing her pistol from her holster and nodding, stepping through the threshold of the building first with the weapon raised.

Within the building was utter chaos: bodies lay strewn about where they had been excersized. She clucked her tongue with disappointment; there had been so much potential here and the lawless hunters had come through and destroyed a literal years worth of research. Perhaps she would have to appeal to the Council about re-training the hunters to better understand the necessity of prisoners. More noise could be heard from the stairwell leading down, screams and the occasional unnatural light.

"I'll go with you." Brody immediately spoke up, and as though it had been settled, started to exit the vehicle. Morgan, however, had other plans. She growled and followed him out of the car. "Nope, this is my mission." She whispered hissed, aware that their voices would carry but could hear no one nearby. "I asked you to come for backup not to take over. I'm going in with Addy." She paused, regarding him carefully as she could easily tell the large wolf was about to start in on her so she spoke first. "Besides, you really want to leave me out here alone? What if they come back? We already know they've been trying to get into the building but can't."

Brody glared down at Morgan, jaw clenched but finally he growled his discontent but otherwise didn't speak against it.

Triumphant, Morgan turned to grin at Addy. "Let's do this."

Christopher listened and did his best to keep the utter look of disbelief and shock from her face as she recounted some of the lower points of her employment. It certainly sounded a great deal like hunting - except for hit men was a colony of angry wolves, vampires, ghouls and there wasn't any pay to it. He blinked but nodded, raising a hand to rub the back of his neck. "Not a problem, really. Most excitement I've seen in a while." He chuckled, only wishing that were the truth. "Besides, the Lunch Ladies here are famous - or would be if anyone knew we were here. If you're going to tour the place, then that's the one spot you need to see and experience before leaving." He took the nozzle back from Emilia and set it back on the tank. "You can leave your bike here, if you want. Owner won't mind and the cafeteria is only a short walk away."

Brendan grimaced slightly as Chase had certainly heard Diffey's comment. He thought for a second to pass it off, come up with an off handed comment to get out of it, but there wasn't a point. "No, not about the pack - it seems any of those that were ... against the notion have either headed out to start again somewhere else or opted to remain silent for now." Behind Chase he could already see Malcolm driving down the lane-way towards them. "That was about my retirement and subsequent plans to leave Vitae." He waved to Malcolm, pointing further down the road to another series of buildings Vitae used as an armoury. "The wife is done, it would seem" He continued, turning to head towards where Malcolm was headed with Thomas. "After the pack night and all of that hell, she wants to leave Vitae." He quickly glanced to Chase. "Not because of the pack but because of this lifestyle. We're raising our grand kids -their parents died on hunts. All we've got are them and Chris; and Chris isn't about to give up the fight."

He slowed, as the neared where Malcolm had pulled over. "Bart ... Bart told us to move to Borseti; he's headed there, as you know. Said it's a safe place, not like there, where people can actually ... live." He shrugged. "Regardless, it's not a secret - Diffey is about to make sure of that."

Arthur listened, only partily understanding what Amethyst meant about 'seeing again'. He didn't' doubt it had to do with the entity giving her back a form of sight. As she stepped out of the cage, and nearly tripped, he reached out to catch her elbow. "I know it is." He agreed, holding her up until she was steady on her feet but leaving his arm close enough so she could use it to walk, instead of stumbling around. "You're not wrong. What happened back there.... " He frowned, uncertain of what to call it, so he moved on. "They're just afraid you might do it again. Just know that no one here wants to hurt you; we just want to help you. If it means that ... guest stays within you, well we'll have to figure it out but you don't have anything to fear from the people here. Alright?"

Elijah couldn't help but notice Evelyn's obvious disappointment at the scene the others had left behind, more than a few demons killed. He knew that this was no display of sentimentality on her part; she was simply annoyed at the loss of potential assets. However, he did note that several were filled with bullet holes and lay, twitching and largely paralyzed by the Devil's Trap projectiles buried in their soft tissue. He would have to compliment Ginny on the work later. Eli nodded toward the incapacitated demons, though most of them were out of reach: down in the basement through a hole one of their companions had made through the floor upon entry.

One exception was nearest him. The creature was raising a hand with immense effort and digging at a bleeding hole in its chest -- trying in vain to dig the bullet out with its bare fingers and thus free itself. Eli tsked and stepped forward, kicking the demon onto her belly before sliding another head bag over its face and binding the hands as he had with the one outside. When he was done -- having made quick and efficient work of the capture process -- he nodded toward the ongoing sounds of a scuffle as they moved further into the building and down the stairs.

Will Hooded.jpg

William was readying himself for a fight, prepared to hold the line alongside Thor and hopefully keep Ginny clear of the fray when the Thundergod met the onslaught of demons halfway. Even with the newfound awareness his Grace granted him, he had difficulty tracking the deity's movements in the ensuing "battle", if one could call it that. He was certain that had he still been human, he wouldn't have been able to make out a thing, even assuming the flashes of lightning didn't temporarily blind him.

Thor tossed one aside, proclaiming him as Will's. The demon had other ideas, clearly no longer interested in a bout with three powerful intruders. He went to dash for relative safety toward the lone exit and entrance where Will and Ginny stood. Clearly he wasn't willing to take a second chance with Thor. As William saw the demon sprinting toward them with a look of fearful determination, he rushed forward. The demon swung his arm out in a sloppy, running haymaker. Will ducked the strike, dipping down to change levels as he wrapped his arms around the back of the demon's thighs and drove through his hips in a double leg takedown. He landed atop the creature's chest, its back slamming to the concrete with a thud. The demon reached up with one hand and Will swatted it aside, pinning it to the floor with his free hand before bringing the angel sword down in an overhand grip, piercing his opponent's throat with a resultant flash of light.

Standing up, Will wasn't surprised to see Thor had made short work of the others. He considered the god's question briefly before nodding, glancing up at the ceiling where another soon-to-be captive was pinned as if by an invisible hand. "Better safe than sorry. Elijah has restraints with him. Let's get what we came for," he said, moving toward the massive door the demons had been guarding.

Adelaide watched the ensuing argument between Packmates with mild bemusement. She was mildly surprised at the result, but not at all disappointed. She couldn't help but return Morgan's smile; Addy didn't need to be a psychic to tell that this was a rare triumph for her friend over the burly Pack Guardian. She nodded, fetching her materials (enough to conduct a seance and cleansing ritual; she wasn't sure if they'd find the spirit on their first visit, but it paid to be prepared) and placing them in her duffel which she slung over her shoulder before climbing out of the Civic. She turned toward Brody, reaching out to place a hand on his arm. "Be careful. If anything happens out here, call us -- or come inside if needed. We already know they have trouble with the warding."

A devilish smile spread across Chaos' face as the battle was fully joined. For a moment, he forgot the purpose he had come for and revealed in his name sake. While the others pressed on, he played with a few straggling demons, conjuring a few iron blades to telekinetically hurl at his foes. One of the demons managed to dodge his balloons, and strike a blow with a wicked looking knife. To her surprise, the little man in front of her began cackling madly as he tossed her away with a telekinetic blast. The hit was little more than a flesh wound, but Chaos wiped the blood with his hand and brought it up for inspection.
"You've got to do better, love." He said between bouts of laughter.
The demon growled and charged the horseman. With deceptive speed, he side stepped her, jabbing a syringe into her side and injecting the contents. The holy water's effects were immediate as the demon tumbled to the ground, writhing in pain before laying still. Chaos slumped to the ground, trying to get his laughing fit under control. It took a bit, but he managed to regain his composure, with a few giggles still popping up.
"How I've missed this." Chaos wheezed.
Standing up, Chester took a deep breath. Okay, fun time was over. Time to get back to work. Moving at a jogging pace, he followed after the rest of his merry band of hunters. He made a count of people as he passed. Oh, good. Everyone who should be seemed to still be alive. Less explaining later. The big door was a bit more concerning. As well as the light coming from around it. He thought he could hear screaming from inside it before, but now it seemed eerily quite. He better not be too late.
"Anyone tried knocking?" He asked absently as he studied the door.
If it was boobytrapped, it might be best if-
The door burst open and a demon staggered out. Energy crackled around the vessel, a man who's exposed flesh was covered in tattoos.
"You can't have it now!" He declared in a strangely echoing voice. "I bled him dry! The power of Conquest is all mine!"
He stomped his foot, causing the ground to crack under the blow. He was swaying a little, the power he had hastily absorbed doing just about as much harm as help to his vessel.
"Oh, sh*t" Chester muttered, his face a mask of shock.

It was a relief to hear the small quarrel had nothing to do with the pack admittedly, that was the last thing they needed. He'd followed the mans wave to see Malcolm and Thomas's vehicle arriving and being routed. When he and Brendan started moving Chase kept quiet whilst the man spoke until they'd arrived. "Sounds like Chris wants to stay put." He commented before moving onto the Borseti subject. "I've only heard good things about it so far so it sounds right up your family's alley. Who knows, maybe we'll run into each other up there one day." It wasn't a big reach. Despite his and Emile's lack of having a conversation on the subject of Borseti Chase knew it would be a place he at least visited on occasion if nothing else. "So I hear you've got a nice comfy cell picked out for Thomas?" The sarcasm wasn't masked as it usually wasn't when speaking of the hunter. Turning to give a nod as Malcolm stepped out of the vehicle, Chase opened the backdoor to the vehicle to see Thomas sitting with his hands in his lap with a zip-tie wrapped around them. Stepping out of the way he gave a clear signal for the hunter to exit. Whilst Chase didn't particularly think the man would try anything this was new territory as far as Thomas being a prisoner went, so he was watching him like a hawk. Being here showed the hunter that he was a prisoner and murder in not only the packs eyes but Vitae's as well.

Thor was about to respond to Will when he was interrupted by the entrance of who was behind the door. He looked on in surprise as a demon empowered by the might of Conquest emerged from the door. Without hesitating he broke the neck of the demon he was holding with a swift twist of his hand and let him fall to the floor like a ragdoll, as well as letting the demon fall from the roof and land behind him. Hoping that his allies would keep the two in check, Thor moved in between them and the new foe. Energy was radiating from the demon, and he thought that this was because the demon had problems controlling the sudden high increase in power. Admittedly this was the first time he had seen something like this, a demon empowered by a Horseman, but Conquest was a shadow of what he once was, and Thor was certain he could defeat the Horseman himself, some added demonic power wouldn't be enough to stand against a force of nature.

The Thundergod seemed to rise in stature and cast a long and menacing shadow as he faced off with the tattooed Demon, as he spoke his voice was full of authority "You dare come into this room and challenge me? You are out of your weight class little demon, and stomping like an annoyed equine is not nearly enough to intimidate me.". Then Thor did something he rarely did in the mortal realm, he revealed himself in his full divine glory. If his enemy thought himself mighty with a shimmering aura and some cracks in the floor he was about to be introduced to something else altogether. Thor's eyes lit up with a bright blue light, unlike when he only partially showed his true self, this meant not only his irises, but the entirety of his eyes lit up like two stars. The same bright blue light began shining from his entire body until it reached a strength where it was almost blinding, and faint crackling lightning could be made out around him. The very air seemed to hum and buzz with the power that was radiating from the god, power that would explode like a tidal wave if it wasn't held back by the will of it's source. As he prepared to strike, an immense amount of energy gathered about him like a furious storm - growing stronger until it had the force of a hurricane.

Slowly he raised his hand at the demon, who turned sideways and covered himself with his elbow to shield himself from the blast. Then the blow came. A blast of what looked like pure energy and lightning slammed into the demon who was knocked back and slid several meters back into the room. The energy, rather than blast apart the door, had instead seemingly enveloped the demon and burned right through his skin - it's target the demon's spiritual essence. It left no marks, but the demon rolled over to the side in visible pain and began coughing, and Thor saw that he spat up blood.

Truth to be told he was a bit puzzled, and impressed. He let the light die down until he was his normal self again. Because of the bystanders in close proximity he hadn't gone all out, but he hadn't exactly held back either. "Well... That's quite interesting. That is exactly what's always annoyed me about you Horsemen. It's surprising how hard it is to harm your essence, even for those of you that didn't pose that much of a threat. That blast would have destroyed a bloody angel, host and grace alike." He said to Chaos. While watching as the demon slowly and unsteadily got to his feet, looking like he had just been badly beaten but was ready for a second round, Thor said "Will you give me the pleasure of ending him or does anyone else want to join in the fun?"

As he spoke Mjölnir materialised in his hand, it's runes glowing with light in the hands of it's owner, as if the hammer itself was ready to go to battle.

Evelyn awaited Elijah to complete his task, mindfully watching his back to ensure they both would clear this area safely. Once done she followed him down the stairs, keeping her loaded pistol at the ready as they descended. Within the dimly lit basement it appeared to be much the same chaos and destruction that had been left on the main floor: bodies strewn about, some partial decapitated and others burned to husks. She knew all too well what could do that, clearly the Nephilim was growing into his powers and she wasn't entirely certain how she should feel about it.

She cautiously picked her way through the mayhem towards the gathered supernatural as the had come upon a marked door. No sooner had she arrived did it burst open and reveal the demon behind, one seemingly who had stolen the power of the Horsemen. Before she could put much thought into it the god revealed himself and she was forced to look away, shield her eyes, lest they be damaged by the act.

Morgan followed suit, collecting the items that Brody had laid out for her in preparation: a demon blade, that belonged to him, salt and a small warding charm he'd used years ago. It was undecided if the spirit could do anything, physically, to the wolves. Since Brody had never encountered one since becoming a werewolf and Adelaide wasn't certain, they had decided to be safer rather than sorry later. She slipped the strap of the bag over her shoulder before nodding towards Brody. She was well aware of just how annoyed and worried he was - the benefit and downfall of being pack mates. She didn't worry, however, about Brody handling himself. She'd seen him take down demons before and they hadn't posed him any real threat.

Brody nodded to Addy with a tight smile, "Take care of each other." He said simply, collecting his own minor equipment before heading away from the car and towards an alleyway along side the building. He wanted to get a lay of the land surrounding it to try and pick up any demon trails if he could.

Brendan grunted at the mention of the cell. The prison, if it could even be called that, had been part of the former police station. A literal cell with cot and restroom facilities in a building they next to never used save to hoard their weaponry. He looked over Thomas as Chase opened the door, satisfied and disappointed to see he was in decent health. Of course this was difficult beyond plenty of things he'd had to deal with in his life; he'd seen Thomas grow up here as a child, turn into a wonderful hunter and then witness what he was capable of. "Let's go." He said coldly when it was evident the hunter wasn't moving from the car.

"Are you shitting me?" Thomas spit, glaring back out.

"Your choice." Brendan stepped forward, intent on dragging the hunter out but Malcolm rested a hand on his shoulder, stopping him. He frowned at the Beta before conceding and stepping aside.

Malcolm moved into the doorway, reaching in to take Thomas by the upper arm and all but drag the hunter clear of the back of the car. He'd gone limp, some sad attempt at resistance meant nothing to the wolf. With him free of the car he waited, to see if Thomas would bother standing on his own but instead the hunter continued to spit profanities and promises of death. His attitude hadn't changed in the least since his capture, forcing Emile to make the decision to leave him in solitude. Malcolm had hoped the hunter would change his tune arriving back at the colony but it was clear the man wasn't willing to make the efforts towards any kind of redemption.

He turned as Brendan called him to follow, half carrying, half dragging Thomas with him and the hunter continued to resist moving in any willing way towards the armoury.

William watched with equal parts awe and anxiety as Thor unleashed his power on the empowered demon. He had an inkling that the display likely would have burned his eyes from his skull had he still been mortal. Even now it was nigh-overwhelming for him to sense -- physically and spiritually -- the immensity of the Thundergod's wrath... which made it all the more of a disturbing sight to see the demon get back up, surprisingly little worse for wear all things considered. At Thor's invitation, Will's grip around the angel sword tightened. "I'm with you," he remarked tersely, keeping his eye on their opponent before advancing toward him.

His dash was quickly halted as the demon raised his hand, projecting a wave of telekinetic energy forward to collide with the Nephilim. Will didn't fall, but he felt his feet sliding against the cement floor until he dug deep, tilting his weight forward and calling forth his Grace to help beat back some of the mental assault. The floor began to crack under his feet as he continued advancing forward at a slower albeit determined pace, looking like a man carrying some invisible weight on his back as he trudged on. The demon's eyes widened as Will drew closer, the former pouring more and more of his Horseman-derived power into the barrage to no avail. Finally, Will was close enough to lash out with the angel sword. Desperately, the demon gave up on the telekinesis altogether and raised one hand, the blade plunging through his palm with a flash of light and a hiss of pain.

William stepped in close and delivered a tight left hook with his free hand that cracked the demon across the jaw, stunning him briefly while Will used the opening to try and free his weapon from the demon's appendage. Just as he managed to do so, his foe returned with a straight punch to his sternum that sent him tumbling backward.

Elijah Main.jpg
Elijah had turned away and shielded his eyes to protect them from Thor's assault, opening them to watch the ensuing fight unfold. The grip on the sword in his hand tightened and he wanted nothing more but to join the fray... but he knew full well that he'd likely only be a liability for the others to look after. This was a battle of immortals.

Adelaide nodded to Brody, watching him depart before taking a deep breath and turning to nod at Morgan with a confident smile before slowly taking her companion's hand in her own. With her duffel bag slung over her shoulder, she led the way out of the garage and out onto the daylight once again. They crossed the street, approaching the building and stepping into the main lobby. No chime signaled their arrival and the front desk was empty. Addy approached, reaching forward to lightly tap the service bell settled on the desk.
