Sounds good to me. Remember it is a regenerative armor, so its damage will self-repair over time.

That will compliment his natural MDC well then. Being able to save on PPE for certain defensive spells would have been nice, but I think he'll get a lot more mileage out of this option to just tank absurd amounts of damage.

Very true. Considering that with their Invulnerability tattoos that Snowfall and Terra can both get an additional 675 MDC above and beyond their own natural MDC, that will help Zeph equalize the numbers a bit.

And just so you guys know, Morrolan will be taking a suit of armor, too, instead of a shield.

I was actually wondering if it might be overpowered given Zephiron's psionics. Resist Damage halves basically any possible damage he could take. Natural MDC, armor, spells, and magic items he'd reach 1060MDC. When you add the halving damage effect, that might as well be 2120 MDC.

If the whole party is capable of taking that kind of damage we're probably about to face check an apocalypse aren't we...

With the Resist Damage, you are on the upper end of the scale, but I believe that Terra has that power now, too, and she has nearly 1,000 MD before any other spells or effects are in play when she has her Invulnerability Tattoo up. Eron is the one with the least amount of armor to his name, even with the symbiote that he has. But his defense is to not get hit, and depending on if he chooses the shield or armor will also make a good bit of difference there.

And... it seems like I'm in one of these long-term indecisive lazy moods again where I don't get shit done - goddammit, sorry for the wait. Can't even say that I've had a busy week or anything - just didn't manage to see the level-up and such through to the end. Today's busy, so I've got it planned for tomorrow. Hopefully, I won't find any more excuses, then, there've been enough of those.

lol I understand. I think we've all been there at one point or another.

Yeah, probably - just feels silly because it really isn't that much to do, and I'd really just have to sit down and get it done...

Sherwood Sherwood Can you give me a few rolls for the level-up to ninth level?

Purr Purr Question about HEMA: Is the version you're using here the one from Broadsword, or an earlier version? Just want to make sure that we're using the same one here.

Just for me, to make sure I get it right: How does the level-up for the second system work?
For Eron, the difference between 8th and 9th level is 28.000 xp. I decided to pick up HEMA at 75.000 xp (which is 'during the downtime'). So - where am I now?
- 28.000, in his xp chart, would mean it's at lvl 5.
- 15.000 would mean that it's at lvl 4.
So which one is it?

At this point, I need to do the calcs for HEMA still, and there's a psionic power and a skill still open - other than that, I'm mostly good to go again. I'll look at the armor options in a bit, won't take a shield.

Silanon Silanon I am using the HEMA v1.3 for Robotech Broadsword. =)

1. Go to your Character's O.C.C. experience chart.

2. Look at the base experience point amount for your Character's current level.

3. Go to the level of the Character when the system was chosen. Look at the base experience point amount at that level.

4. Subtract value 3 from 2. This will give you the amount of experience points once your Character has gained since having chosen that system.

5. Take that experience point value and put it toward your Character's O.C.C. experience point table to determine what level the Character is in the 2nd system.

Example:
You are playing an 8th level Military Specialist. This is their experience table (in part):
1st - 0,000 - 2,120
2nd - 2,121 - 4,240
3rd - 4,241 - 8,480
4th - 8,481 - 16,960
5th - 16,961 - 24,960
6th - 24,961 - 34,960
7th - 34,961 - 49,960
8th - 49,961 - 69,960
9th - 69,961 - 94,960
10th - 94,961 - 129,960
(Etc.)

The PC's current (8th level) base experience point amount is 49,961.

The character chose a 2nd system at 4th level. Determine the base experience point amount at 4th level. 8,481.

Determine the difference by subtracting the lower number from the greater. They have earned 33,480 experience points since they chose that 2nd system (49,961 - 8,481).

Take this new total to the O.C.C. table and what level do you come up with? (6th, nearly 7th.)

This 8th level character is 6th level in their 2nd martial arts system! =)

Try this equation a few times with different levels and I think you'll see that it gets easier with every try.

Any questions? =)

Thanks! I had a rough week rp-wise (the concentration wasn't there most of the time), but I'll get something up this weekend.

Alrighty, folks - I have a problem. Tried to get into the right mindset for Eron yesterday and today, and I'm just not getting there. Like, I tried to write the excitement that he should feel and all the other stuff, and I just couldn't get there. Same with the armor decision and the martial arts... what it really comes down to is that I'm not really excited to play Eron at the moment, and so it's hard to be excited about any of these cool things that are supposed to happen to him. Not quite sure what the reason is, I'll have to think about that some more, I guess. But at the moment, I'm not getting anything done for him at all. And it's frustrating.

Question for Sherwood Sherwood : Can we find a good way to move on for the others while I try to figure this out? Don't want to stop all the others from playing, and we're not really getting anywhere with Eron, at the moment. Like, I have to figure out what's wrong for me, and what to fix about it. And the other folks probably want to do more than see you tag me every now and then.

I understand the frustration. I have had writers' block on more than one occasion, and it stinks. If you wish, we can have Eron either in the party but in the background for the time being, or you can stay in Olympus for the moment for Hephaestus to make a shield or armor suit for you and once you are ready to jump back in, we'll have you back at 100%. Which would you prefer?

Might be best to have him on the Olympus for a bit to get the armor fitted in a way that accounts for the symbiote - that way, he has a reason to not be present, and can still quickly jump back in once I'm back on track with him. Hopefully, his absence won't even be noticed; but I don't want to stall the game any longer than I already have. Thanks for understanding!

I'll have an IC post up sometime tomorrow.

EDIT Start thinking of your first stop on this quest; Germany/Europe, China, the Antarctic, or Brazil.

I'll have a post for Snowfall involving something that happened earlier and a new thing born from the book I read on Kitsune recently (Come and sleep by Kincaid). It won't interfere with the adventure. =)

As for first stop, I think intel-gathering is far more important than just randomly picking a spot and going. For what it's worth, that is. =)

Thanks for the Well-Written, Psychie! =)

Forgive me if I run with and RP things like "Snowfall is Chinese" but I hope I'm not the only one that finds it more fun than simply addressing it in O.O.C.? This way, we get to make a little scene out of it!

lol To paraphrase one of my books that I like to read, I am an ignorant white devil that didn't know that kitsune are Japanese and not Chinese. However, I plan to have some fun with my next IC post, because I am thoroughly enjoying myself in the game.
