The cyborg shinobi grunted in pain from the shot that struck him, winging his shoulder slightly as he took a single step back from the recoil of the ballistic. Seems that rotting in that cell for all of those years had made him slightly slower, and while his armor was capable of absorbing some small arms fire it was far more efficient for him to use his enhanced reflexes to dodge such weaponry. Shizen's senses informed him of the officers that had come to assist him, though at first he quickly darted his head back to make sure that they weren't additional adversaries.

In the brief moment that the standoff between the grunts and SWAT officers began, he flipped on his communicator and relayed a status update to the rest of the group: "They are retreating to the parking garage underground. The vent gave out and I have been spotted and am now engaged in combat," he said as he rushed back toward the grunt who was grazed by his blade, attempting to lunge his sword through the man's torso.

"I have reason to believe our target is with the men down here. Yet I have not determined if he has a means of escape from this position."

Under his exoskeleton, Kane gave an approving smirk as Cynthia offed a good with style and a dramatic flair that got him clapping. "Well done love! What a fuckin' performance!" he said, almost cheering aloud once the fighting abated. "If this were the Oscars you'd get a fuckin' award for 'Most Lethal Bitch' out of all of them." He then cackled to himself as he checked his ammo and twirled his pistol. "Now, let's get the c*** we're after, shall we?"

After all, was said and done, Wolfgang was frozen into position. On one knee with arms pointing a shotgun at empty space. His chest slowly inflated then deflated. For a moment, the crimson hue of his eyes grew paler. The squelching of the perp's body as it fell over onto what was once his brain matter snapped Wolf out of his fixed gaze. He shot up from his knelt stance and braced himself on a desk. A rapid series of vulgarities were spewed from his mouth. His hand gently reached into the hole in his vest and sunk long claws to extract something. His fingers wiggled free a smushed .45 from his chest. "F***, I'm gonna be pulling shells out my shell." He gestured to the others, showcasing the impacted bullet. Wolfgang lazily racked his shotgun and popped out a spent casing. "After this, I can't wait to book this cretin." He calls out to his squadmates before rummaging through a gangster's corpse for medical supplies.

After her 'performance' Cynthia bowed gracefully as the show ended. Playing along to Kane's cheers. Finally, some recognition!

"Thank you darling, thank you!" She smirked "I studied the greats like any top performer should." After she was done bowing, the former model started to rummage around for anything of use among the dead goons. If there was something for her minor wound it wouldn't hurt to have.

Cynthia and Wolfgang soon began to check the bodies themselves, determined to see if they would have any medical supplies on them to take. After all, these corpses wouldn't have any use for them.

Chance Roll = 9. Chance Successful! 2x Small Medical Pack acquired.

It wasn't long before both had used the medical supplies they had found, with Wolfgang finding a little extra to keep for later. Or to use on Kane whenever he decided to actually consider healing. Soon enough, however, they would have to get moving. Shizen's voice crackled over their comms, indicating he had lost the element of surprise and was now engaged in combat down in the parking garage level.

"They are retreating to the parking garage underground. The vent gave out and I have been spotted and am now engaged in combat. I have reason to believe our target is with the men down here. Yet I have not determined if he has a means of escape from this position."

"Let's get moving." said Daniel, quickly standing and sliding more slugs into the tube of his shotgun. "Manzanares might be attempting to escape using either a personal vehicle, or through the Undercity. If he uses the Undercity, we'll lose him for sure. I'll check to see if SWAT has the subway terminal secure to prevent that." stated Alice through comms, before Jack's voice came through afterwards. "We're getting an aerial drone dispatched to observe from above. If they take a car, we can follow them."

The trek downward through the club was intense, as the group had to weave through the exchange of gunfire between the SWAT officers and the Cartel members still trapped inside the complex. Occasionally they would shoot back at the Cartel, but no solid hits were given. They weren't here to take small game after all, and Shizen needed assistance with grabbing Manzanares.

Eventually, the group arrived at the staircase leading down into the basement level parking garage. A few SWAT officers followed after them as backup.

Shizen's aim was true, as the sword pierced the man's torso and pushed all the way through until it erupted from his back. And with a twist and jerk, the blade was forced out of the man's side, severing his spine and nearly slicing him in half. Meanwhile, the two SWAT officers opened fire again on the second grunt. They peppered the man with gunfire, several bullets ripping through the Cartel grunt until he finally dropped like a sack of bricks.

As Shizen spun about to continue his mission, he spotted him. Manzanares, slipping into a high end car with three other men. And as soon as the doors shut, the vehicle roared to life and gunned it towards the parking lot's exit ramp. He was trying to escape! Some of the officers attempted to shoot out the tires, but their shots simply peppered the sides of the vehicle as it reached the ramp and darted up it. And as it exited the building, it narrowly avoided slamming into the side of the Bloodhounds armored van, which spun around and slid to a stop just at the entrance.

"The aerial drone is tracking his position. Light blue sports car, high end model. License plate Alpha, Tango, Hotel, Zero, One, Niner, Two. He's heading south, looks like towards part of the Old LA district." spoke Alice, with Jack right after her. "Hop in the van, and get after him!"

"Ah fucking hell, we aren't catching up to that in a fucking van!" Kane yelled aloud as he managed to catch a brief glimpse of Manzanares' getaway. His eye then spotted to another vehicle in the garage and clapped his hands together. It had been a while since he got his hands on a nice car, but certainly someone else in the club above had good taste. "Well fuck me, looks like we're in luck lads." he then announced as he quickly approached the muscle car and smashed its window in before forcing the door open. He took his seat in the front behind the wheel and quickly moved to get its engine to purr to life, the idiot had left his keys in the dash. "Well what the fuck are you lot standing around for? Get in!"

Shizen's strike was heralded by a feint into a turn of his heel, his blade using the momentum to stab behind him into the grunt's torso. The arcing blade disintegrated flesh as well as sliced through it, the shinobi quickly retracting his sword as he turned to the remaining enemy. Fortunately, the SWAT officers gunned down the adversary, and he gave both of them a quick nod of appreciation before he swiftly flicked the viscera off of his blade to clean it somewhat.

Once he had eyes on the target trying to escape, he said nothing and brought himself low before breaking into a rapid sprint for Manzanares's escape vehicle. Even with the inhuman speed his cybernetics granted him, both the layout of the parking lot and the man's choice in vehicle put the ninja had a disadvantage. His prey had slipped between his fingers, and his blurred sprint came to a skidding halt as he dug his heels into the ground with a spread hand to the floor.

Looking up, he saw that Kane was in the process of commandeering a vehicle. With another burst of speed he moved into the passenger seat, looking ahead at their target. "Get me close enough to him and I shall bring the vehicle to a stop."

Kane cackled as Shizen got in the passenger's seat and hollered aloud like a madman. "LETS PUNCH THAT SHIT THEN!" he cried out as he floored the gas pedal down with full intentions on catching up to Manzanares.

Wolfgang rushed along with the others, rejuvenated by the small medpack's usage. Soon enough, they had breached the garage. Their target was getting away! Echoed in Wolf's mind, filling his mind with instant rage, which would have sent him into a four-limbed sprint towards the getaway vehicle. Cooler heads prevailed as he saw that Kane acquisition a car. A very comely automobile, one that Wolfgang would drive himself. Immediately he boarded the vehicle before Kane sped off after the vehicle. "Command! This is Wolfgang, in pursuit of the suspect vehicle." He sounds off while raising his shotgun to target the speeding car.

Kane, Wolfgang and Shizen were already in a muscle car and speeding away to chase after Manzanares. She cursed that she didn't get in the car on time for the ride, but looked for other solutions. The van was going to be slow to catch up, but sturdy. She needed something else, something fast. And there she saw it. Someone's bike was just parked there. Newer fancier models too. The ones with poor protection. A messed up manicure is an inconvenience to rip out the panel and cross the wires.

The bike roared to life and was ready to go. Cynthia just needed to catch up to the boys and get their target.

As the muscle car containing Kane, Wolfgang, and Shizen sped away, Daniel looked over to see that Cynthia was commandeering a motorcycle to chase after them. He'd need a vehicle of his own. And soon he spotted one. "Control, we've taken more civilian methods of transport. Crimson muscle car, silver motorcycle, black truck. You'll know us when you see us in the drone's video feed. Have the van tail us." he spoke into comms, as he slung the shotgun onto his back and drew his pistol. He'd need a pistol for what he was about to do.

It wasn't long before Kane, Wolfgang, Shizen, and Cynthia had caught up to the blue sports car, as it bobbed and weaved through ground traffic in LA. This would have been a bit easier had everyone had flying vehicles, as they were the more popular options now-a-days. Less risk of slamming head-on into an oncoming vehicle or into the side or rear of another.

Gunfire was exchanged, two of the Cartel grunts in the car ahead slipping their weapons out to fire upon their tails. A few shots punched through the windshield of the muscle car, sending bits of glass into the face of Kane and Wolfgang, but neither were deterred from chasing Manzanares. As Kane got the muscle car closer, he and Wolfgang took shots at the car to cover Shizen. Whom intended to stop the vehicle as soon as possible. But thanks to the hail of gunfire from the other vehicle, as well as how professionally Manzanares seemed to drive the thing, he was never able to get close enough to act.

Cynthia moved in from the right side of the vehicle, taking shots of her own in an attempt to eliminate some of the grunts inside the vehicle. And the gunfire from both sides of the vehicle eventually managed to eliminate the two rear passengers. Leaving only one grunt and Manzanares himself to fire upon the group. Eventually, as the group continued to roar through the streets of Downtown New LA to the south, they would cross into the older parts of the city. Here, there was far less glitz and glamor. Old concrete buildings, warehouses, train yards. Mostly abandoned save for gang and mutant activity. The outer edge of Old LA.

Traffic disappeared, eliminating the obstacles and cover that both groups had. And here, Shizen would find himself able to strike. As the group rounded a curve into a straightaway, Kane quickly moved into position near the vehicle. And as soon as they were close enough, Shizen leapt from his passenger position. Straight onto the rear of the sports car that contained Manzanares and his remaining ally. And he soon drove his sword straight through the engine block of the vehicle, delivering a horizontal slice and virtually cutting the engine in half.

As expected, the vehicle came to a rolling stop as half the car practically fell off and slid off to the side (with Cynthia having to avoid slamming into it by going around it.) Shizen jumped off, flipping through the air and landing on the asphalt several yards away from the sports car. Kane slammed on the brakes in the muscle car, forcing it to skid to a stop a short distance away.

A horn sounded behind Shizen, forcing the cyborg ninja to quickly move out of the way as a large truck came barreling past him. It was Daniel, driving a large pickup truck at an incredibly high speed. And it wasn't long before they saw what Daniel was intending to do with it. He soon saw Daniel bail out of the driver's seat, with the truck continuing on as he hit the asphalt and rolled rapidly. The truck slammed into the now sideways sports car, the collision creating a thunderous noise with shattering glass and bending metal.

The collision, on the passenger side of the sports car, sent the vehicle flipping several times. The third grunt was killed on impact, his body compacted by the shell of the sports car as well as the front of the large truck. And as soon as the vehicle came to a stop, the group could see Manzanares was still alive. Barely. He slowly crawled from the shattered side of the car, as it lay on its roof down the street near a large warehouse.

It was time to move in and make the arrest. Or at least they thought it was. It seemed Manzanares had other plans. Something was drawn from his pocket, as he rolled over onto his back on the pavement. Some sort of remote. His thumb moved to three different positions on the device, as the group quickly neared him. Buttons, on a holographic pad. And soon, they heard a massive boom nearby.

What had Manzanares just done?

Kane was cackling like a madman the whole time as they chased Manzanares through the streets, the thrill of adrenaline pumping through his body. Shizen had managed to quite literally slice the engine of Manzanares' getaway vehicle in half, to which Kane hollered aloud as he brought his new muscle car to a halt. It seemed as though it was over, but now the man had pulled quite a twist out of nowhere with a detonator in hand and an explosion to follow. Kane was quiet for a moment as he looked around then began to cackle again: "Well now, what just went kaboom?" he then said aloud as he walked over to Manzanares and shoved his pistol straight under his chin. "Where'd you go and have a bit of fun at?" he then asked the downed man with another cackle.

The daring chase had bullets flying, civilians screaming, and metal on metal action. Just another day in the ground streets of LA! Exactly how Wolf remembered it. But unlike the madman Kane who hollered like a dog in heat, Wolf remained bitterly silent. He had to time his shots right less he accidentally brain a poor soul. Kane's 'tactical' driving certainly didn't help much, but Mrs Wegener didn't raise a weakling complainer. The getaway grunts returned fire almost immediately, shattering the windshield. A hail of broken shards hurtled towards Wolfgang's face, but they never managed to pierce the helmet. Shizen had finally managed to get his chance, as Wolfgang saw how the shinobi elegantly leapt to the vehicle and then stabbed the engine block. All but ensuring Manzanares' stop. It wasn't over, however as Daniel came in with roaring thunder, crashing into the escape car once again.

Miraculously, Manzanares lived. But perhaps it would have been better to have him be dead. As the wounded man rolled over, he desperately keyed a button sequence which caused a growling boom from over yonder. A wave of bubbling anger grew in Wolfgang, but before he could get to him: Kane already slipped a gun under his chin. Wolfgang shook his head. "That's not how you do things, Kane." Wolfgang quipped as a hand slipped under Kane's pistol, gripping Manzanares' neck. With one hand, the mutant beast lifted Manzanares off the ground. His grip was expertly restrained to not choke the man, but still, cause discomfort. Raising his free hand, Wolfgang extended his clawed fingers. Beneath the factory-made fabric, a red glow gleamed. It bubbled then melted off, a slushy of fibres plopped to the concrete, releasing a pungent smell. The crimson claws of the Wolf pointed at Manzanares' face. "This will hurt, unlike anything you will ever feel in your life. I look forward to scraping the chilled scraps of skin off my claws so if you want to keep your skin intact, I'd start talking."

"Oho, I like your style! Bad cop, monster cop!" Kane commented as Wolfgang slipped a hand straight onto Manzanares' neck. He then turned his attention and clicked his tongue several times. "See, buddy boy here definitely means what he says mate. He's a big ol' mutie who ain't afraid to claw through some blokes, just like your lads back at the club. Pretty work he made of them."

Kane then moved his pistol away from Manzanares and rested it on his knee as he lazily squatted next to him, waiting for Manzanares to speak.

As their vehicle drew closer and closer to their target's escape car, Shizen began to stand in the passenger seat with a spread stance - gauging the distance between their car and his as he prepped for his jump. With a surprising amount of grace that did not displace Kane's driving, the shinobi used his cybernetic enhancements to leap the required distance to land on the hood of the car. Even if the grunt pointed his weapon at the ninja, Shizen was quick in driving his blade into the engine block and splitting the machinery apart.

As the car spun out of control, he dismounted and managed to land on the asphalt without harm and began to stand to his full height. His reflexes had him sidestep the screeching truck that was barreling past him, twisting on his heel before he started to quickly walk toward the chaotic pileup of surrounding vehicles. Perhaps this brisk pace he was taking was a poor decision, as by the time he had view of the target, some kind of switch was flipped and he could hear the sound of muted explosions.

Shizen's head turned toward the source of the sound, starting to move up on Manzanares as Kane and Wolfgang already began to question the perpetrator. While the shinobi got close, he decided to say nothing for the moment.

"FUCK!" was the heavy punctuation to Cynthia's reaction as the vehicle was sliced in two, sending one part her way. She managed to turn the bike around just in time to avoid a head-on collision. As pissed off as she was at the ninja, the anger went away when their suspect got put in his place by Daniel's trucking. She was ready to gloat as she parked the bike nearby when the explosions erupted. She turned her head trying to spot the fireball somewhere.

"...fuck..." There goes the perfect first booking.

Manzanares simply gave Kane a bloodied smile, as red stained his teeth and the lower half of his face. Seemed as though the wreck had broken his noise, and cut a gash across his mouth stretching from his chin to his left eye. A piece of glass must have sliced his face open during the roll. He didn't respond, however, to Kane's question. Instead, he would respond to Wolfgang.

After being hoisted up and held in the air, watching the mutants claws burn through his gloves. And as the mutant made his threats, Manzanares forced himself to grin again. "Dying to those claws of yours, mutant, would be no worse than what La Madrina would have in store for me if I squealed." he forced through gritted teeth. Seemed as though he was in a lot of pain already.

He then looked to Kane, before shifting his eyes to Shizen and Cynthia nearby. "The explosion...That...That was a gift! La Madrina sends her regards, and wishes you the best of luck in your new jobs."

A few moments later, the group could hear rapid, loud thuds approaching them from the other side of a nearby warehouse to the left. Manzanares then spoke again. "Luck is pretty fickle, though. Likes to pick her favorites... Just ask Jack! He was a favorite." he muttered again through his teeth.

As he finished, the thudding was really close. And a crash could be heard coming from inside the warehouse itself. Jack's voice could be heard over their comms now. "IT'S A COMBAT DRONE! FIND COVER!" he spat loudly into their comms. Daniel's eyes went wide. Oh fuck. Heavy weaponry!?

Three seconds passed very quickly, and a fireball burst from the large metal doors of the warehouse. Shrapnel pelted them from the blast, bits embedding in their armor and clothes as they scrambled to get out of the open. Manzanares dropped back to the ground, crawling to the far side of the ruined sports car with his handgun.

"Judging from the scans from our aerial drone, the combat drone appears to be a Artemis Systems Model T-355D. An urban assault mech used during the fourth world war by the North American armed forces. Its loadout consists of a pair of M3 Browning-Manchester heavy machine guns chambered in fifty caliber, a pair of underslung forty milimeter revolving grenade launchers, and a pair of SLAW-4 rocket launchers. It bears moderate armor plating, an enhanced tracking system for targets with high maneuverability, and a full anti-hijacking suite. It is a bipedal walker type drone, and features a repulsive shield to defend its legs and torso from explosive ordinance." explained Alice through comms. And shortly after, a new voice spoke through the group's comms. Alley, the female hacker whom had been recruited with them. "I'm hacking into the Artemis miltech database as we speak. I'll find the weakpoints asap. Just hold out for a few minutes."

And soon, the tall armored combat mech came into view. Towering over all of them at around 20 feet, the behemoth began to search for targets near immediately. Its machine guns making a loud noise as they racked fresh ammo into their chambers. "ASSIGNED PRIORITY OBJECTIVE: ELIMINATE ALL HOSTILES." it stated loudly, its robotic tone quite clearly understood as it announced its intent to Charlie Team.

Kane tilted his head and listened quietly as Manzanares explained his own predicament. Talking would mean death, which to be fair Kane understood given that would have been something similar back in his DeadEye days. But then came his explanation of the explosion, with 'La Madrina' sending her regards, to which Kane chuckled. This was cut short however by the arrival of a combat drone to ruin everything which sent Kane scrambling towards whatever cover was available. "Fucking hell!" Kane yelled as he launched himself to the nearby muscle car he had arrived in, "IF WE SURVIVE THIS, I GET DIBS ON BEATING THE PISS OUT OF MANZANARES!" he then yelled as he fired his pistol at the mech.

Wolfgang looked detested. "Yes, yes. All of you underlings are as predictable as ever, reminds me of my own gang." But before Wolfgang could even sink one inch into his skin, a loud thudding became apparent. Then the ear-grating noise of metal and glass being pulverised filled their ears. The mutant turned his head, lowering his claws to get a better look at this culprit. A MASSIVE GODDAMN COMBAT DRONE?!? Reflexively, he dropped Manzanares and pointed his shotgun at it. The squad intercom burst forth with listing off its' capabilities. This thing could level an entire city block on its own! "Prima facie, we're screwed!"Wolfgang mouthed off as he jettisoned himself towards the van that hit Manzanares' car.

"Copy that, command! Send a prayer as well!" This is the crucible that tests men's souls. His back planted against the wall and shotgun held tight, his adrenal glands went to work.

"SHIT SHIT SHIT!" Cynthia cursed as the combat drone made its entrance. She couldn't do anything to that thing. None of them could. They had enough firepower to stop lowlifes and thats it. Panic would eventually give way as they were told to hold on for a couple of minutes. Right. They had to have some plan for this, right? They wouldn't be left to get obliterated and left for dead, right? Not after investing so much. She rationed in her head while darting for any cover she could find.

The interrogation did not seem to be going all that well from what Shizen could gather, yet as the booming thuds sounded he quickly swiveled both his gaze and stance toward the direction of them. When Jack shouted for them to find cover, he quickly looked about the area and noted that they only had the vehicles they came in to utilize as sites of respite from the machine they were now beset by. From beneath his helmet, the shinobi quickly searched between his comrades as well as the towering drone that was starting to level its weapons at them, his mind racing as he took in the specifications of their opponent.

"Enhanced tracking? We shall see if it can keep up with me. Do not delay in exposing this pitiful construct's weaknesses," Shizen spoke over the comms, already bringing himself slightly lower as he leveled his blade at the combat drone. He knew better than to rely on flimsy vehicles in the face of explosive ordnance and high caliber ballistics, his only salvation was being evasive through the use of his cybernetics.

In the precious seconds before it opened fire, the cyber ninja darted in a zig-zagging pattern as fast as his synthetic legs could carry him, his sword pointed upward behind his back as he was ready to transition into a slash at the machine's legs. If he could get under the drone, he may be able to throw off its targeting as well as be under its devastating weaponry.

Old LA - Outskirts - Abandoned Warehouse District - TURN 1
BOSS FIGHT
T-355D Urban Assault Drone (Reprogrammed - Las Calaveras Cartel)
(HP = 50)

Special Buffs:
T-355D Urban Assault Drone

Repulsion Shield: A product of the fourth world war, this unit bears a shield to protect it from dumb fired and smart fired explosive ordinance. Immune to explosive attacks.
Anti-Hijacking Suite: This drone features a tactical computer system package, preventing it from being hacked on the fly.
High Caliber Munitions: Equipped for Urban warfare, this drone features high caliber weaponry to eliminate its foes. Each successful standard attack does 3 DMG, and can target up to two enemies. Each special attack (rocket launches, grenade launches) ignore cover and do 5 DMG, but can only target one enemy. After attacking, however, the drone must skip a turn before attacking again as the weapons must cool/reload.

Charlie Team
Unity: As there are multiple members of the team, Charlie Team can work together and bring overwhelming firepower to an engagement like this. When attacking the drone at the same time, each successful player attack adds an extra point to player damage. (Instead of doing 1 DMG, if two players hit, its 2 DMG for each player and so on.)

Special Debuffs:
T-355D Urban Assault Drone

Need a Mechanic?: As this unit was built with a support team in mind, this unit cannot self-repair. Once it sustains damage, it keeps that damage until destroyed.
Targeted for Maximum Effect: This boss features several weak points structurally, which can be hit (once discovered) for 10 DMG per strike.

Charlie Team
I'm Not a Doctor: Should a player be downed, they will be considered incapacitated until combat ceases. After combat ends, player can be revived by any of the other players.

--- --- --- --- ---

Kane = 8. Does 3 DMG to T-355D. T-355D HP = 47.

It wasn't long before the shooting started.

The .50 caliber machine guns sounded off, rapid bursts that punched clean through the muscle car. Kane was grazed by a few, the shots scratching across the plates of his cybernetics. Large grooves carving through. His shots rang true, however, pelting the large armored torso of the drone just as Shizen swooped in beneath it. A swing of his sword cut a deep gash through one of the legs of the drone, but it remained standing. And even delivered a brutal kick to the ninja which sent him into the wall of the nearby warehouse. His body collided with the thick sheet of metal, leaving a large indention as he bounced off and hit the concrete.

Daniel also opened fire, aiming for the large guns on the arms of the drone. A few of his .50AE slugs hit, one slamming into the receiver of one of the .50 caliber machine guns, while another hit the arm a bit passed the machine gun. Maybe if he took one of the arms out, it would help even the odds a bit. Still, they would have to worry about the rocket launchers on the shoulders.

Alley's voice soon came over the comms again. "BINGO! Alright!" she exclaimed before continuing, "Weakpoints! There's a camera and high end 360 degree tracker mounted inside the upper right of the torso. Hit that to eliminate its tracking abilities. Hydraulics are located on the back of the legs in a small box-shaped compartment, just above the knee joints. Hit those to limit its mobility, and possibly knock it over. Its also notorious for having feeding problems. Hit its ammo belts going up the arms towards its back to jam up its fifties for a bit. The rockets are also armed inside their tubes, so if you hit the launchers enough, you could detonate those for massive damage."

Jack's voice followed. "Alright. You know what to hit. Take that motherfucker down!"

Wolfgang nodded along with Alley's voice: camera, hydraulics, ammo belts, and possibly rockets. He shuffled several shells into the feeding tube, before momentarily peeking an eye out to spot the drone's position. "Do or die!" His mind screamed before jumping on top of the truck. His target was the camera. The shotgun shook in his hands from the running cortisol, but he steadied long enough to at least fire off a shot. Instead of going back in cover, however, he stood his ground. Becoming bait for the .50 cal so somebody else didn't take the brunt of it.

Shizen had found his mark, and yet the follow-through of his swipe was too slow - a surprisingly swift kick that sent him careening into the outer wall of the warehouse. Despite his cybernetics and synthetic nerve-endings dulling the pain, he still was left reeling from the blow and fell limply to the ground. Yet what would have killed a normal person was but a scrape to him, and he began to slowly reach for his sword and push himself up off the ground as their hacker barked the machine's weak points to the team.

Now at his full height and grasping his blade, he tilted his head upwards as optics and the visor of his helmet worked in tandem to highlight the targeting system. "If we blind the machine, its weaponry will be useless against us. Direct efforts on that sensor." Shizen advised over the comms, bolting forward with another burst of speed as he leapt once, then again as he began to flip high into the air.

As he gracefully twirled about above the ground, the cyber ninja worked to use his momentum and weight to attempt a downward slash against the tracking system.

"Got it!" Cynthia didn't know if Shizen's plan would work, but there was no point in thinking of something else on her own. She got up and started running to a different cover while taking shots at the drone's camera.
