An unidentified force has attacked the world in ways beyond understanding. Not even the most powerful countries are close to finding out just what caused breaches to their power and silmutaneous shifts in the Earth's plates. But as humans do when they can't find the answers they seek, they make excuses and explanations so that it can make sense, even if they may not be the truth. This causes nations to blame one another and naturally in their rising tensions, leads to all out war. No peace can be had in the face of paranoia and a curtained threat. All while this inexplicable force could be preparing for another assault.
Yet there are those who are not entirely blinded by war, nor do they let the confusion and lack of understanding manifest blame. Instead they search for the real answers and solutions.
You are part of the solution. Whether you were a soldier, a student, homeless, an everyday joe; you were abducted to become part of a project. Consent and communication just don't fit the seekers' agenda. Your discomfort (at best) is but a necessary sacrifice. Operating for ten years now, this lab is hidden, location unknown, and full of other test subjects and a well protected and practiced staff. You've been the subject of experimentation, forced with gifts and curses of mutation of various sorts. And, of Fate. The most recent addition to your lines of experimentation, the seekers now wish to see if the strongest of bonds have been successfully forged between you and one other among a handful of candidates.

What has really started the chaos in this world? What had moved the tectonic plates and caused universal breaches and power outages? Is it alien? Is it something within the world? Something from another plane of existence?
Seekers

The organization which searches for the truth and is also responsible for your current situation. Beyond what you have experienced in the settings of the lab and right before being knocked out (or something similar) to be transported, you know nothing else of the organization.
Rooms
open
Each experiment, including yourself, has a room they are locked in until they are moved for the purposes of furthering their experimentation. These rooms are meant to keep the experiments alive and from hurting themselves in a way that would hurt the seekers' agenda. Yet, that doesn't mean these rooms are five star suites.
FATE
open
The connection engineered between you and your "soul mate" regardless of your view on the concept. You may think you can live without them, but come the moment they truly face death, you lose yourself as if facing it too. While the Seekers may be aware of this puzzle piece of their program, you and the other experiments are not yet any wiser. The Seekers call you and your other soul mates, and the bond between you, however made possible, Fate.
Inhibitors / Inhibs

Its in the name. These are devices that inhibit an experiment from acting out, doing something Seekers will not tolerate. They are adapted to each individual experiment.
Memory

You may remember your past, pieces of it, or nothing at all, its up to you. However, you're characters will not remember entirely how they were abducted, other than maybe being stuck with a syringe or some other form of knocking them out before being moved to the facility. They do not know where the facility is nor the layout of it. Most halls look identical.

I like things short, sweet, to the point, these things really don't need over-explanation. The basic, universal "don't be an asshole" rule. Follow the site's Terms of Service. I will add, adjust, remove rules and guidelines as I see necessary.

There will be a discord and also an onsite oc thread. The roleplay will take place on RPN, as will be the character sheets. Understand that this roleplay will have mature themes. If you read the introduction, you should get an idea of what themes will present themselves throughout the roleplay and discussion. Of course, I am always open to questions if you have any!
rule three.
I will accept your characters on the basis of their application and a writing sample from you. Characters should be unique and can represent a supernatural creature or independent mutation, algamation of mutations. Overlapping is possible and expected in some degree, as long as your character has their own flavor it is fine.

We ask that all players be 18 or older. This is due to romance and character relationships being a strong component of the RP.
All RPN rules apply.
Discord is not mandatory at this time, but we heavily encourage it. Most of the discussion and extras will be taking place in Discord. L.Amour will handle OCC on-site.
Be respectful of your fellow players and remember that the goal is to have fun. Leave any IC drama out of the OOC. It's alright for characters to not like one another, but players should get along. Harassment of any kind will not be tolerated.
If you're feeling upset about something, please reach out to one of the GMs in private.
This RP is Detailed/Semi-Literate to Literate in nature. While this is a Science-Experiment RP that includes lots of potential for action and superhuman feats, the main focus is on character-relationships. The password is birds rule. As such, we are looking to find players who enjoy writing multiple paragraphs and delving into character development. However, the emphasis is on quality, so use your judgment when you feel that less is more. One-liners are not an option though.
There is no god-modding, metagaming, or bunnying allowed. No controlling other people’s characters or ‘telling’ their characters what they think or how they react to your character, etc. You also may not kill or maim another Player Character without permission from the player.
This RP does contain elements of the supernatural, war, psychological manipulation and unethical experimentation, etc. We expect some mature themes and concepts to come in the IC and also when plotting and worldbuilding. While it’s fine to take inspiration from real-world events and as they relate to worldbuilding for the IC stuff, no real-world political debates are allowed in the OOC. Please keep in mind that the views and opinions of the fictional characters within this RP do not necessarily reflect the views and opinions of the people writing them. Nor is the IC meant to focus on or reflect politics from the real world. Essentially, please do not use the IC or OOC as a platform to focus on real-world politics with the intention of starting a discussion/debate around the topic as it pertains to the personal beliefs and values of players.

Characters cannot be younger than 18. This applies both mentally and physically.
This RP allows for a wide variety of powers and abilities to be used for character inspiration. There are two main groups of power types. Supernatural and Metahuman. The former refers to experiments that were created using inspiration from mythological figures such as manticores and unicorns. The latter refers to experiments that were designed to capture the feeling of superpowers like something out of a science-fiction movie. Both are equally valid and we’d like to see a mixture of them featured in the RP!
On this note, please read through the existing applications to avoid unreasonable overlap. While some overlap is possible due to taking inspiration from similar sources (for example, it’s pretty standard to give both dragon and phoenix inspired characters fire-related abilities) the rest of the character should still be unique. Also, the more unique a character’s abilities are, the less reasonable it is for someone else’s powers to overlap with that character.
In addition, please take into consideration the setting and goals of this RP when you design your character’s personality and their powers/abilities. We’re open to a lot of ideas, but it also needs to make sense that your character would be chosen as a candidate to participate in the Fate program. The Seekers have a lot of time, resources, and money put into making their experiments. Other password is warthog. They’re not going to choose participants that are uncontrollable psychopaths who will kill everyone the first chance they get as their candidates. They also need to be able to contain/restrain your character fairly easily (at least while they are within Seeker custody).
Your character should have a combination of strengths and weaknesses that apply both to their personality and abilities. Mary/Gary Stues will not be accepted. If you are having difficulties with designing limitations for your character, please feel free to ask for help OOC or through PM!
Certain ability types will be limited. These include:

(It is against the rules to possess another player’s character without their permission)

Banned Abilities:
Immortality based abilities.
While characters may have regeneration abilities and the like, there must be a reasonable way for them to die. That said, only in very extreme circumstances would a player-character be killed off without permission.
