Administrator
At RpNation, our mission is to foster an inclusive, safe, and extraordinary writing and roleplaying community for everyone. Established in 2008, we have grown into one of the largest roleplay sites in the world, thanks to the dedication and passion of our incredible community members. Our goal is clear: to offer a haven from real-life stress, where individuals can indulge in the joy of roleplaying in various forms, from freeform or dice-based to one-on-one, nation-building, and beyond.

This mission guides our site's functionality, feature development, and the training of our volunteer staff, who are encouraged to uphold these values. While not explicitly stated as a rule, this guiding principle is at the heart of our interactions on RpNation, where users can rely on the safety and quality that we've consistently provided over the years. Upholding the community guidelines is not just about avoiding infractions or warning points, but respecting their role in governing behavior.

This means that using "kind" or "gentle" language to skirt around clear violations of the community guidelines will not shield malicious or toxic intent. If you are not here to participate in good faith with our community, the RpNation Administration may exercise discretion in removing you to preserve our community standards and the integrity of our guidelines.

With this foundation in place, we proudly present the Community Guidelines for RpNation.

Respect
🙏 Respect

At RpNation, we cherish the diversity and creativity of our community members. It's essential that all users treat each other with respect and contribute positively to the site's atmosphere. Discrimination, harassment, and hate speech will not be tolerated, which includes:
  • Derogatory remarks based on race, ethnicity, religion, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, or personal beliefs.
  • Bullying, trolling, or engaging in hostile or inflammatory behavior towards other users.
  • Targeting or singling out individuals or groups in a negative or harmful manner.
Please remember that real people with emotions and feelings are behind every username. A little empathy and kindness can make a significant impact on the overall community experience. If you encounter any issues, report them to the staff, who will address the situation accordingly.

While roleplaying, keep in mind that characters may have differing beliefs and opinions than the players portraying them. However, this distinction does not justify disrespectful behavior. Be mindful of the impact of your character's actions and interactions on other users, and maintain a respectful attitude both in and out of character.

Harassment and Aggressive Behavior
Content or activity targeting users aggressively with the intent to upset or attack is not permitted. This includes continuing interactions after being requested to stop. All users must respect requests to terminate communications, behaviors, or interactions.

Discussion of Account Suspensions or Warnings
Publicly discussing actions taken against any user accounts by The Staff is prohibited. This includes discussing specifics of Community Guidelines and the implementation of such. If you have a concern, question, or appeal about a specific warning or suspension on your own account, please use the ticket system.

Offensive Terms
The Staff of RpNation have determined a number of universally offensive terms are prohibited from use anywhere on the site and its services and have selectively filtered these terms. Such terms will be automatically altered, and it will be up to the user posting the content to edit their content accordingly. Any attempt to bypass the word filter, such as by using spaces or other characters, is prohibited.

Spoilers
To prevent spoiling content for others, please use the spoiler or in-line spoiler BBCode tags or the 'Spoiler' prefix for threads when discussing plot or character developments in media products (e.g., books, TV shows, movies). This allows users to choose whether they wish to view the spoilers or not.

By fostering an environment of respect and understanding, we ensure that RpNation remains an inclusive and welcoming community for all roleplayers.

Vigilantism and Respecting Staff Decisions
👮‍♂️ Vigilantism and Respecting Staff Decisions

At RpNation, our staff team is dedicated and well-trained in handling rule enforcement and addressing user concerns. While we appreciate users helping others understand site policies, it's important to strike a balance between offering friendly guidance and not overstepping into staff territory or engaging in harassment. Remember, your role as a community member is to provide support and share knowledge, not to enforce rules or handle conflicts like a staff member.

Vigilantism refers to users acting outside of their boundaries as general community members and attempting to enforce rules, handle conflicts, or undermine site Staff authority to handle situations in a respectful and constructive manner. This behavior can escalate situations, create misunderstandings, or unintentionally spread incorrect information.

To ensure a positive experience for all users, follow these guidelines:
  • Report rule-breaking behavior: If you notice content or conduct that violates the community guidelines, use the report function to bring it to the staff's attention. Avoid getting involved in arguments or trying to enforce the rules yourself.
  • Do not engage in public call-outs: Accusing or publicly confronting users about their behavior can lead to unnecessary drama and animosity. Allow the staff to address any concerns privately and professionally.
  • Respect staff decisions: The RpNation staff team has been trained to handle issues fairly and consistently. Trust their judgment and avoid questioning or undermining their decisions in public. If you disagree with a decision, open a ticket to discuss your concerns.
  • Offer guidance, not enforcement: It's okay to inform other users of the site policies, but do so calmly and respectfully. Refrain from using authoritative language or adopting a condescending tone. Remember, your role is to provide information, not enforce rules.
  • Avoid mini-modding: Mini-modding refers to users who frequently correct or criticize others for minor infractions or perceived rule-breaking. While it's fine to help others understand the site policies, it is essential to avoid overstepping your bounds as a regular user.
By following these guidelines, you can contribute to a positive and respectful community while allowing the staff to handle rule enforcement and conflict resolution effectively.

Explicit Sexual Content and Extreme Gore
🔞 Explicit Sexual Content and Extreme Gore

Roleplaying can encompass a wide range of themes and subjects. It is essential to maintain a balance between creative freedom and the comfort and safety of all users. While RpNation does not allow erotic content, other mature topics are permitted within taste and reason. Please adhere to the following guidelines to ensure a respectful and inclusive environment:
  • No explicit sexual content: RpNation caters to users aged thirteen and older, so explicit sexual content is strictly prohibited. This includes graphic sexual acts, explicit sexual language, or detailed descriptions of genitalia. Even if a roleplay is marked "18+", explicit sexual content is still not allowed.
  • Fade to black: If a roleplay involves adult situations or themes, use the "fade to black" technique. This method transitions the scene away from explicit content without providing graphic details. It acknowledges adult themes without crossing the line into inappropriate content.
  • Limit extreme gore: While violence and gore can be part of roleplaying, graphic descriptions of extreme gore can be distressing to some users. Strive for a balance that conveys the scene's intensity without providing excessively detailed or disturbing descriptions.
  • Content warnings and tags: If your roleplay includes mature themes, such as violence, gore, or adult situations, it is encouraged to use appropriate content warnings and tags. This practice allows users to make informed decisions about the roleplays they engage in and promotes a respectful and inclusive environment.

Please note: The Omegaverse/ABO genre is sexually explicit and is not allowed on the site. If you wish to use the non-sexual social dynamics you can use alternative terms to express that. Some options include social hierarchy, dominance hierarchy, and caste system.
By following these guidelines, you can create engaging and enjoyable roleplaying experiences while ensuring the comfort and safety of all RpNation users.

NOTE:
While RpNation is not responsible for what happens off our site, we can control who or what is advertised on our site. All of our Community Guidelines apply when making recruitment posts.
For example, users may not make an off-site recruitment post for any of the following (or any other rule-breaking behavior):
  • Bypassing Community Guidelines
  • Harassment
  • Seeking erotic content

Safe and Inclusive Environment: Mature Content and Restricted Themes
🌶️ Safe and Inclusive Environment: Mature Content and Restricted Themes

At RpNation, we prioritize maintaining a safe and inclusive environment for our users while recognizing that some stories and roleplays may involve mature themes. It is essential to strike a balance between creative freedom and the safety and comfort of our community members. Please adhere to the following guidelines, which make a clear distinction between in-character and out-of-character situations, to ensure an enjoyable experience for all:
  • Mature Themes: Exploring mature themes is allowed, but handle graphic descriptions of violence, self-harm, abuse, or other potentially triggering content with care and sensitivity. Always include appropriate content warnings and ensure all participants are comfortable with the subject matter. Explicit sexual content is strictly prohibited on RpNation.
  • Restricted Content: Certain topics and materials are not allowed on our platform, including pornography, extreme gore, hate speech, real-life criminal activities, and other harmful or offensive content. Additionally, content that promotes or glorifies harmful ideologies or actions is not permitted. Any content that breaks this rule will be removed, and the responsible user may face disciplinary action.
  • Age Ratings: Roleplays and content should be categorized with appropriate age ratings to ensure that users can make informed decisions about what they engage with. Content suitable for all ages should be marked as such, and more mature content should be rated accordingly. Users are responsible for accurately categorizing their content and ensuring that it adheres to RpNation guidelines.
  • No Non-Consensual Content: No Non-Consensual Content: Explicit descriptions or roleplaying of non-consensual acts (such as rape, sexual assault, or abuse) are not allowed on RpNation. However, certain mature roleplays may reference such themes in dialogue or backstories, provided it is done tastefully, respectfully, and with consideration for the rest of the userbase, particularly the other players in the roleplay in question. Always prioritize the comfort and safety of your fellow roleplayers when dealing with sensitive content, and include appropriate content warnings when necessary.
  • Hate Speech and Discrimination: RpNation has a zero-tolerance policy for hate speech and discrimination. This includes slurs, derogatory language, or any content that targets a person or group based on their race, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation, or any other protected characteristic. Any content that violates this guideline will be removed, and users may face disciplinary action.
By respecting these guidelines, we can maintain a safe and enjoyable environment for all RpNation users while still allowing for creative exploration and storytelling.

Account Security, Sharing, and Multiple Accounts
🔒 Account Security, Sharing, and Multiple Accounts

Ensuring the integrity, security, and privacy of user accounts is vital for a safe and enjoyable experience on RpNation. To protect our users and maintain a fair community environment, we have established guidelines regarding account security, sharing, and the use of multiple accounts.
  • No Account Sharing: Sharing your RpNation account with another individual is strictly prohibited. Allowing another user to access your account can lead to compromised security, privacy breaches, and confusion within the community. Users found to be sharing accounts may face disciplinary action, up to and including a permanent ban from the site.
  • Responsible Use of Multiple Accounts: RpNation allows users to have multiple accounts, as long as they are not shared with other users or used to break any other community guidelines. Misuse of multiple accounts, such as engaging in harassment, impersonation, gaslighting, or deceiving others by pretending to be different people in the same group or roleplay, is strictly prohibited. Users must be transparent about their identity when using multiple accounts within the same community or roleplay to ensure a fair and trustworthy environment. We trust our users to use multiple accounts responsibly and contribute positively to the community. Misuse of multiple accounts may result in disciplinary action, including potential removal of all associated accounts.
  • Keep Personal Information Private: Never share personal information, such as your real name, address, phone number, or financial information, on RpNation. This applies to both your own information and that of others. Protecting personal information ensures a safer community for everyone.
  • Protect Your Account Information: Do not share your account login details, such as your username and password, with anyone else. By keeping your account information secure, you can prevent unauthorized access and maintain control over your personal content.
  • No Impersonation: Impersonating another user, staff member, or any other individual is strictly prohibited. Pretending to be someone else creates confusion and undermines trust within the community.
If you come across a user who may pose a security risk or is misusing multiple accounts, what actions can you take?
  • Report Suspicious Activity: If you encounter suspicious behavior, such as phishing attempts or potential account hacking, report it immediately to the RpNation staff. Prompt reporting helps protect both your own account and the security of the entire community.
  • Seek Staff Assistance: If you suspect that two or more users in your roleplay may be the same person using multiple accounts deceptively, you can reach out to the RpNation staff for assistance. Our staff is here to help maintain a fair and transparent environment within the community.
By following these account security, sharing, and multiple account guidelines, you contribute to a more secure and trustworthy community on RpNation.

Advertising and Spam
📰 Advertising and Spam

Advertising and spam can be disruptive and detract from the overall user experience. To maintain a focused and engaging environment on RpNation, adhere to the following guidelines:
  • No unsolicited advertising: Promoting external websites, products, or services without permission is not allowed. This includes excessive promotion of personal projects or social media accounts. RpNation is a platform for roleplaying and community engagement, not self-promotion.
  • Keep interest checks in designated areas: If you wish to gather interest, ensure that it is relevant to the community and posted in the appropriate designated areas. This helps maintain organization and prevents clutter. Please refer to the Recruitment Rules post for more specific guidelines relating to interest checks.
  • No spamming: Posting repetitive, off-topic, or disruptive content is considered spamming and is not allowed. This includes excessive use of emojis, posting the same message multiple times, or derailing threads with unrelated content.
  • Report spam or advertising violations: If you encounter spam or advertising that violates these guidelines, report it to the RpNation staff. Reporting helps maintain a clean, focused, and enjoyable community experience for all users.
By adhering to these advertising and spam guidelines, you can contribute to a more engaging and pleasant environment for everyone on RpNation.

Plagiarism and Intellectual Property
💡 Plagiarism and Intellectual Property

Respecting intellectual property and the creative work of others is a fundamental aspect of any thriving creative community. At RpNation, we take plagiarism and intellectual property theft seriously and strive to protect the rights of our users and their original content.
  • Plagiarism: Plagiarism is strictly prohibited on RpNation. This includes copying or using another user's work without their permission or presenting someone else's work as your own. Plagiarism can involve written content, artwork, characters, or any other form of creative work. Users found to be engaging in plagiarism will face disciplinary action, up to and including a permanent ban from the site.
  • Intellectual Property: Users are expected to respect the intellectual property rights of others. This includes copyrighted works, trademarked material, and any other content that is protected under intellectual property laws. Users who violate these rights may face disciplinary action and potential legal consequences.
  • Fan Works: While creating fan works based on existing intellectual properties (e.g., fanfiction, fan art) is allowed, users must respect the original creator's rights and not engage in activities that would infringe upon their intellectual property. Additionally, users must clearly label their fan works as such and give proper credit to the original creators.
  • BBCode: All BBCode hosted on RpNation falls under Creative Commons; Attribution-NonCommercial 4.0 International (CC BY-NC 4.0). Users may use the codes of others as long as any required attribution to the original creator/content is applied. Users should not publicly post any codes they do not want or intend for other users to use.
By adhering to these guidelines, we can foster a community that values originality and supports the creative efforts of all RpNation users.

Minimizing Drama and Conflict
🧘‍♀️ Minimizing Drama and Conflict

RpNation is a community dedicated to fostering creativity and collaboration through roleplaying. However, we understand that conflicts may sometimes arise between users. To maintain a positive and enjoyable environment for all, we have established guidelines to minimize drama and conflict:
  • Respectful Communication: Always approach discussions and disagreements with a respectful and open-minded attitude. Avoid using aggressive or accusatory language, as it can escalate tensions and create an unwelcoming environment.
  • Conflict Resolution: If you find yourself in a disagreement or conflict with another user, attempt to resolve the issue privately and constructively. If necessary, reach out to a staff member for mediation and assistance.
  • Avoiding Public Drama: Refrain from airing grievances or engaging in disputes on public forums, as this can negatively impact the community atmosphere. Keep personal issues and disagreements confined to private conversations.
  • No Gossiping or Rumor-Spreading: Do not spread gossip, rumors, or hearsay about other users, as this can lead to misunderstandings, hurt feelings, and unnecessary drama. Treat others with the respect and courtesy you would expect in return.
  • Reporting Rule Violations: If you witness or experience any behavior that violates the community guidelines, report it to the staff through the appropriate channels. Do not attempt to handle rule violations yourself or encourage others to join in on confrontations.
By following these guidelines and promoting a respectful, drama-free environment, we can continue to enjoy the creative and collaborative nature of roleplaying on RpNation. Remember that everyone is here to have fun and escape the stresses of everyday life. Let's work together to keep our community a welcoming and enjoyable space for all.

Distracting Content, Language
🙊 Distracting Content, Language

Distracting Content
At RpNation, we want everyone to enjoy their experience without unnecessary distractions. Therefore, signatures, avatars, and profile covers must adhere to our guidelines:
  • Signatures should be of reasonable length and format, avoiding the use of gifs, which can be highly distracting.
  • Avatars must not be animated, as the site software does not support this feature.
  • Usernames should only include alphanumeric characters (A-Z, a-z, 0-9), periods (.), colons (:), semi-colons (;), underscores (_), hyphens (-), and spaces. Users with non-conforming usernames will need to change them without using up their allowed username allowance.

English Only
To ensure effective and fair moderation, all content posted on RpNation, including the Discord server, private workshops, profile posts, and private messages, must be in English. Exceptions include minor elements such as phrases, signatures, and in-character dialogue. Staff may request an honest translation if necessary.

Offsite & Discord
🔍 Offsite & Discord

RpNation allows and encourages users to share, recruit, and promote roleplays that happen off-site, whether they be on another site, a Discord server, or a different platform altogether. You can do this in the Off-Site Ads section. However, please note that RpNation is not responsible for, nor can we dissolve servers, punish, or otherwise control what users do off-site once communication is engaged outside our spaces (the main site and the official RpN Discord Server). This means we can't help with offsite situations that would be unacceptable if they had occurred on RpNation.

Instead, it is recommended that you report the offending user to the platform's staff and/or support team, and then block/ignore the user.

Proper steps to deal with something on Discord:
  1. Use this link to reach Discord's Trust and Safety Team and provide them with the information they need.
  2. Block the user

There is a certain expectation that our users have about the quality of things that are linked, which is harder to enforce compared to just roleplaying on-site. In situations where a community member believes that we should get involved and punish someone's on-site account for something that happened off-site, so that we can apply infractions (warning points) to their account, take down the ad, or permanently remove the user in question from the community for an egregious violation and abuse of our platform and the Community Guidelines, we will need some extra steps from the person making the report.

We will not accept the following:
  • Hearsay comments
  • Screenshots
  • Invitations to servers
Users can, unfortunately, have falling outs, which sometimes lead to situations spiraling out of control. In certain scenarios, users may try to fabricate situations by doctoring screenshots and attempting to get each other in trouble. This can happen on-site, and it is much easier for our staff to deal with such scenarios but nearly impossible without your assistance when it happens off-site, like on Discord.

Here is the process we've outlined for reports of this nature and the only way we will accept them:
  1. If you were propositioned on site (e.g., via a Private Message) to take your roleplay or communications off-site to bypass our community guidelines (for example, to participate in erotic content), then please use the report function on the offending content. This will immediately bring it to our attention and since it is a clear violation of our community guidelines, it will be easy for us to deal with once we investigate.
  2. If this happened after communications were established off-site, then the process gets a little more complex but ensures that nothing is fabricated or dishonest. Please follow these steps:
    • [a.] Use a screen recording function on your device (e.g., iOS or Android devices have built-in screen recording features). Screen recording on non-mobile devices is also accepted but might be more involved.
[b.] Record the issue in question and make sure to click on the offending user's name on the Discord Client, so their #ID is visible. This part cannot be faked by pretending to be a user and posting rule-breaking content on Discord to record and send to us.
[c.] Send this video to us and point out where the user recruited you on the site (whether public thread or private message) by using the report function and making a ticket with us.

We encourage all community members to be safe, and immediately block and disengage from anyone who makes you feel uncomfortable. Report them to the proper platform, and do not share contact information publicly on the site. Share contact information only via Private Messages.
To make it easier for users, here are the steps for screen recording on iOS and Android devices:
For iOS devices:
  1. Go to Settings > Control Center > Customize Controls, then tap the '+' icon next to Screen Recording.
  2. Swipe up from the bottom edge of any screen (on iPhone X or later or iPad with iOS 12 or later, swipe down from the upper-right corner of the screen) to open the Control Center.
  3. Press deeply on the Screen Recording icon and tap "Start Recording".
  4. After a three-second countdown, your recording will begin.
  5. To stop recording, open the Control Center and tap the red Record icon or tap the red status bar at the top of your screen and then tap "Stop".
For Android devices:
  1. Swipe down from the top of the screen to reveal the Quick Settings menu.
  2. Look for the Screen Recorder icon. If it's not visible, swipe left to reveal more icons or tap the pencil icon to edit your Quick Settings.
  3. Tap the Screen Recorder icon to start recording.
  4. After a countdown, your recording will begin.
  5. To stop recording, swipe down from the top of the screen again to reveal the notification panel. Tap the red "Stop" button or the Screen Recorder notification to stop recording.
Remember to click on the offending user's name in the Discord Client so that their #ID is visible while recording.
By following these guidelines and reporting procedures, we can work together to maintain a safe and enjoyable community on RpNation. Thank you for your cooperation and understanding.

Roleplay Rights
🎭 Roleplay Rights

Staff Intervention in Roleplay Disputes
Please note that RpNation Staff generally do not intervene in roleplay disputes between members. RpNation Staff will only get involved if the Roleplay Creator requests assistance and has already taken reasonable steps to resolve disputes.

RpNation Staff will NOT intervene in a roleplay dispute on behalf of players unless the Roleplay Creator violates RpNation Site Rules. Players have options, such as leaving the roleplay or creating their own on RpNation. RpNation Staff will investigate complaints about stolen characters or other forms of plagiarism if reported appropriately.

Roleplay Creator Rights
Roleplay Creators have certain rights regarding roleplays created on RpNation or its web spaces. These rights may be altered or changed depending on the Roleplay Creator's behavior. In a roleplay dispute, RpNation staff members recognize the Roleplay Creator as the higher authority. All Roleplay Creator's rights are listed below:
  • Roleplay Creators are the authority over their roleplays, not their players.
  • Roleplay Creators are the owners of their roleplays.
  • Roleplay Creators have the right to add their own rules to their roleplay (as long as such rules do not contradict or abridge RpN Site Rules or Policies).
  • Roleplay Creators have the right to determine what content is allowed in their roleplay (as long as such content does not break RpN Site Rules or Policies).
  • Roleplay Creators have the right to remove or reject any player from their roleplay for any reason, as long as that reason does not violate RpN Site Rules or Policies.
  • Roleplay Creators have the right to prohibit or edit any action that occurs within their roleplay.
  • Roleplay Creators have the right to make decisions about their roleplay’s setting or lore and can even declare any content as "non-canon" for their roleplay.
  • Roleplay Creators can moderate and edit any content posted in their roleplay.
  • Roleplay Creators can delete posts within their roleplays.
  • Roleplay Creators have the right to place posting requirements or restrictions onto their roleplay.
  • Roleplay Creators do not have to notify their players of changes to their roleplay.
  • Roleplay Creators have the right to petition to the Staff to have their rules or wishes enforced (if their attempts to resolve issues directly with their players are unsuccessful).

Character Ownership
Roleplaying games are collaborative ventures. While a Roleplay Creator owns content associated with their roleplay (unless plagiarized or copyrighted), specific entries, such as a player's characters, are considered the individual poster's property.

RpNation Hosting Rights
By posting on RpNation, you enter into an agreement with RpNation concerning hosting your content online. RpNation, a private entity, reserves the right to control content and materials hosted on its platform and web spaces. The rights below are granted to RpNation staff members and supersede any other rights given to roleplay creators, players, or users on RpNation. • RpNation has the right to preserve, store, and archive content on its server.

  • RpNation Site Administration are allowed to hold a roleplay's creators or players liable for content they post and punish them according to RpNation Site Rules.
  • RpNation Site Administration are allowed to change an individual's Roleplay Rights without notice, explanation, or otherwise.

Site Rules Override Roleplay Rules
All RpNation Site Rules are final. Roleplays cannot have rules that contradict, abridge, or remove RpNation Site Rules. Roleplays found attempting to break these rules or encourage rule-breaking will be closed. The Roleplay Creator will be held liable and will be confronted by RpNation staff members.

Recruitment Rules
📢 Recruitment Rules

No Dating Advertisements
RpNation is not a dating website. Users seeking personal relationships for dating purposes will have their content removed.

Off-site Information
Recruitment information for roleplays, even those happening off-site, must be hosted on RpNation. Off-site contact information should only be shared in your profile identities, PMs, or the Off-site Ads. Discord servers can be linked from OOC threads or PMs for OOC purposes, but off-site roleplay links must be posted within Off-site Ads. RpNation does not moderate content outside of its webspace, so users should exercise caution when going offsite for roleplays. Please refer to the Offsite rule to learn what is and is not allowed when posting offsite links.

Bump Spam
Bumping is allowed within reason. Excessive bumping may result in content removal and infractions. Follow the Bump Etiquette:
  • Do not bump/create multiple threads in the same section at the same time.
  • Only bump/create a thread once per 24 hours.
  • Deleting previous bumps/threads to falsify a 24-hour waiting period is not permitted.
  • Only the GM/Co-GMs or the OP of the recruitment can bump the interest check and/or partner search.
Incorrect Thread Placement
Ensure your content is posted in the correct forum or sub-forum. Incorrectly posted threads will be moved, and repeated offenses may result in warnings/infractions. For guidance, consult the Community Hub, Ticket system, or the Frequently Asked Questions.

Thread Hijacking
Do not recruit people to your roleplay using other users' interest checks. Create your own thread to recruit players.

Thread Approval Queue
RpNation's filter acts as a precaution against spambots and spam-like content. If your thread is pending approval, do not re-post it. Staff will manually check your thread when they have time, so please be patient.

Warnings, Courtesies, Suspensions, and Appeals
⚠️ Warnings, Courtesies, Suspensions, and Appeals

Courtesies are zero-point warnings, "verbal" warnings, or notices given by the staff. While they do not lead to any actions taken against the account, they serve as a note for staff members. Courtesies may be appealed like any other warning.

By default, all warning points on RpNation have a duration of 6 months unless an administrator alters them for a specific circumstance. The consequences for accumulating warning points are as follows:
  • 1 point = 1-day suspension
  • 2 points = 7-day suspension
  • 3 points = 30-day suspension
Any accumulation beyond this may result in consideration for a permanent ban from the community.

Appealing Disciplinary Actions and Courtesies

As a member of RpNation, you have the right to appeal any disciplinary action taken by the staff, including warning points, courtesies, and suspensions/bans. This can include appealing the number of warning points received, the duration of a thread ban, or even the justification for the disciplinary action or courtesy itself. Similarly, if you are banned from a specific forum or the entire site, you can appeal that decision too.

However, it is essential to note that not all staff actions or disciplinary measures are open for appeal. In general, you cannot appeal:
  • Policy decisions - Decisions regarding what is considered against the rules.
  • Administrative decisions - Decisions related to the organization and categorization of forums or threads.
  • Technical decisions - Decisions concerning account-related matters, such as identifying a sock puppet account.
  • Disciplinary decisions under the Terms of Service - Decisions made based on violations of copyright or other terms within the site's Terms of Service.

The Appeal Process

If you would like to appeal a disciplinary action or courtesy, please follow these steps:
  1. Stay calm and respectful. It's essential to approach the situation with a level head and maintain a respectful tone throughout the process.
  2. Visit the Ticket System. To appeal a warning, courtesy, or suspension/ban, access the Ticket System on RpNation.
  3. Submit a detailed appeal. In your appeal, provide a clear and concise explanation of why you believe the disciplinary action or courtesy was unjust. Include any relevant evidence or supporting information to strengthen your case.
  4. Wait for a response. After submitting your appeal, please be patient and allow the staff sufficient time to review the case and make a decision. They will get back to you as soon as possible.
  5. Accept the final decision. The staff will carefully review your appeal and provide a response. Whether the decision is in your favor or not, it's crucial to accept the outcome and move forward in a positive manner.
By following these steps and maintaining a respectful and cooperative attitude, you can ensure a fair and transparent appeal process on RpNation.
