Dice The Project - OOC

I would say in the 3-5 range. Definitely no higher than 6 at this time.

How many characters are we going to have? I want to make sure I purchase enough Mind Link to connect the whole squad.

Looks like you and four others, five if I make an NPC

Hey Epiphany Epiphany , I'm working on your sheet now, and have a few questions about the Complications. Do you have any psychological quirks that defines your behavior, such as being very aggressive, or being a compulsive liar? Are you vulnerable to a specific kind of attack, like how Superman is vulnerable to Kryptonite? Do you get upset if a team member is hurt?

Oh boy, the classic Gurps Flaws/Disadvantages system. I'll have to give it some thought. Or maybe look at a list of Disadvantages and suggest some. Driving 8 hours back from Oregon to Washington state today so hopefully by tomorrow I'll have something.

Could you explain the equipment labels? For example:
  • H&K G11 4.73x33mm Ca OCV +2, RMod +1, Damage 2d6, STUNx +0, Payload 50, Mass 3.65 300m 76/22 2H, AF5, IPE, RC2, NP, 10
Could you define these parts:
  • 76/22 (The Active point/Real point cost)?
  • 2H, AF5, IPE, RC2, NP, 10: what do all of these labels mean (I know 2H means two handed and AF5 means Autofire 5, but I'm not sure on the others)? There are also some other labels, like Sil (-3) and Laser, so it might just be beneficial to make a glossary of all the terms somewhere.

Sorry. I was going to add the Tags, but I must have spaced it. Give me a moment and it will be up with the weapon description.

Off the top of my head, the Sil (-3) is a Silencer that gives a -3 to Perception rolls to hear it.

Just to be clear, all of the weapons are "free," and the A/R points are what the weapon would've cost if we were paying for them with points, right?

Correct. Unless you want some exotic or bizarre item, then that you would have to pay for it.

After the debacle that was Meniru 1.0, and the revision that never saw the light of day, Meniru 2.0, I now give you Meniru 3.0!

Update: It's wrong. Math is off.

Update 2: I present to you, Meniru 3.1!

Are you using a Multipower for your Mimic/Shapeshift power? It would save you a bunch of points if you did, and then you'd just have to figure out where to place your extra points.

3.2 is forthcoming, I believe.

Wait, multipower? Let me do some research...

How about that. And just when I thought I was getting the hang of this too.

Let me know when you need more info from me Sherwood :)
Go ahead and post your sheet to review. The sooner that everyone has their pages up and done, the sooner we can start the hijinks.

This sounds as if it'd be about time to have a character concept - maybe it's best if I just throw a bunch of things your way and you take a look and tell me if you can work with that?

Animal: Australian dingo. Endurance, enhanced senses including a decent night vision, adapted to hot temperatures. Good at biting if necessary - hopefully not.
Areas of expertise: Primarely Combat sniper, at least from his own understanding. If you shoot 'em in time, they can't bite you in the butt. Combined with that, a bit of "applied medicine" - he's not the person to name every single bone in your body, but knows how to patch you together when things didn't quite go your way. Specialty: Antitoxins - inspired by his origin, gotta know something about the fauna of your ancestors' country...

I don't imagine him to be the typical "I gotta save lives"-character - more of a pack loyalty, helping those around him while keeping enough distance to everyone else out there to reliably fire his gun. He's a predator, not a lapdog - and takes pride in it. Thinks of himself as someone who reliably does his thing, and doesn't like it when someone questions that.

Random thought: In some games, there is the option of healing from afar, for example via using a stim pistol of some sort. Anything like that available for a rifle, so that I could support the team mid-fight if necessary?

I like the premise, and a sniper will work well in this setting and group layout. From what you are telling me, there will be less points spent on mutations and more on skills, since your standard rifle and scope will be free. I can see you having a good Paramedics skill level, and having a 'Med Kit' is an easy sell. Now, the idea of having a Stim Bullet is a cool one, and I can accept that as some of your special gear that you would have to spend your points on.

Did you want me to generate this up for you? If so, I can have a rough draft posted later today.

Also, I have posted an NPC. Manticore's primary weapon will be a machine gun, such as an M-60, or a Muli Round Grenade Launcher. Gives you guys a bit of heavy fire support.

The crew is indeed shaping up. :)

I'll clearly need to craft some backstory for my PC. Like, starting with a name. >_>
