Alright, I'm thinking that I'd be interested in playing a bard who is, on the surface, a cheery (if simple) purveyor of tales and witticisms from throughout the realm. He travels primarily by hitching rides with travelling parties or caravans in exchange for tales and stories of the vagrants and undesirables and his seemingly undepletable supply of spirits from throughout the realm. Though on the surface, he appears jovial and free-spirited, he does have a dubitable knack for being in just the right place at just the right time to witness history in the making. One might assume this originates from a tremendous amount of luck, but the more critical or astute eye may not be so charitable and perhaps suspect that he is not what the surface belies.

How does that sound?

oh ho ho ho ho (; that sounds intriguing
assuming that this character does have a motive for wanting to cure magerot (i see this matches well with the role description i gave 👀) i'd love to see him fully fleshed out when the cs thread is up.

Let's see how many times I have to reach into my DnD character vault to find something that fits these roles...
  1. Lizard person monk... nah.
  2. Warforged... I'm just gonna rule them all out now.
  3. Wise old kaiju sorcerer... nope, definitely not.
  4. Giant-slaying magic-ring-obsessed crossbow guy... maybe.
  5. Elf guard turned werewolf... short listed for the warrior role.
  6. Male succubus spy guy... possible bard, but not worth running in a setting without the wardrobe malfunction cantrip.
  7. Cowardly inventor/artillery artificer... don't think he'd fit any of the roles well.
  8. Sadistic zombie cleric/necromacer... probably a no, not really a healer without magic.
  9. Dwarf dragoon... that could work for the warrior role I think.
  10. Non-magical fairy rogue... oh, she'd work in the bard role.
  11. Thief with a cursed shadow... could be made to fit as the warlock maybe?
  12. Druid-ish warlock with a Raven familiar/patron... he'd be a better fit for the warlock role.
Three out of four isn't bad for a first pass. Should be good enough to start work on a character app when it drops.

Okay, I did some research, and I found the "Leanan Sidhe" for a patron -- she is a spirit who gives artistic inspiration and asks for love and devotion in return. "Leanan sidhe are regal fey who pride themselves as patrons of the arts. By establishing a magical link with a talented mortal performer or artist, the Leanan Sidhe enhances her target’s skill, but slowly feeds on his life energy. Many tragic stories of talented artists who have a creative burst and then fall into obscurity or suddenly die can be attributed to the influence of these creatures."

I don't know if this works or not, so please let me know.

Is... is there a specific character sheet to use? I'm so sorry for asking ;n; I cannot seem to find it.

Keeping going with the character seeds since they're entertaining. These ones didn't make the first cut since I don't think they'd fit the setting:
... a speed-obsessed cheetah tabaxi, a genetically-modified child soldier knight brainwashed into thinking he's the chosen one, spider-riding drow ranger that only wants to save scary-looking monsters, kenku warlock with the entirety of the akashic records as his patron, an eragon-ripoff dragon-rider, a straight up dragon trapped in a stone statue, an amnesiac devil that thinks he's a normal warlock with a particularly silent patron, the japanese-made warforged battle maid (barbarian) (fun campaign, you had to be there), a wizard/artificer that only used magic to build insane inventions, a dragonborn called Earl the Grey that only spoke in semi-intelligent-sounding proverbs he just made up, a normal lizard that ate a magic grape and became an uncontrollable wild magic wizard as a result all while being four inches tall.
