the story
...
"A couple of kids go missing during this time of the year. It's said that the Gods are putting them up to the test. If they fail, they will never return again."
In a small village not too far from the bustling, busy city of Tokyo, lies the beautiful countryside called Jinto. The population is about fifty here and is mainly a tourist attraction for their agriculture and the sacred torii gate.
Residents are the protectors of the land, who will find peace and happiness if they were chosen by the Gods of the Spirits. In the month of August, winter is often defined as the "God of Spirits' season," not because of the shivering cold, but because the spirits that were in slumber are awakened to find their way back home (or reincarnation).
And here, we meet our four protagonists--students with different backgrounds and situations in their lives that caused their bodies to be spirited away into the dangerous depths of the spirit realm due to their negligence to themselves and their family. Thus, the God of the Spirits had given them the test.
In order to find their way out of the spirit world, they will have to find a way to survive and find their way back... if they ever can. Wandering spirits, demons, and legends of some creatures exist in this world. If the students fail to find their way home before the end of the winter, they may never come back home.

Mayor's daughter [f]
She has a bright future ahead of her because of her family's background. People question why the mayor's daughter is left in the countryside while her father is living in luxury in Tokyo, the girl was always envied by others due to her wealth and family. There's only so much that she could do to constantly satisfy her mother and father's wishes. They were always telling her to do everything in her life. She was like a robot, despite her intelligence and beauty, she listened to whatever her parents did because she was too much of a coward to stand up to herself. While trying to get to school, a male student was stalking her during her route, causing her to try to find a different route to get to school. But as time went on, she never came to the school.

The athlete [m]
He was the top student in his school in all types of athletic sports. Despite this though, he never put a thought of wanting to become a professional at it because of his parents' constant pressure to force him to get into medical school. His favorite sports included volleyball and fencing, but then to his parent's eyes, they never wanted him to get into something that may never happen for him. Although his father is a Doctor and his mother is a psychology therapist, their cheap ways allowed them to live in this town, not too far from the main city, saving them loads of money for them to save. But with their cheap ways and the athlete's dream crushed due to their constantly pressuring, he ran off whilst arguing with his parents, never returning back home (thus, he became spirited away).

Cold-hearted Princess [f]
To the students of the school, not much is known about her. She's often alone and works hard by herself, ignoring the other classmates. There's a rumor that this female classmate comes from a really rich family, which is why she doesn't make friends with anyone because her standards are higher than the others. In reality, though, part of this used to be true. When she was a junior high student, she lost her father in a car accident back in Tokyo while the family lived there, and then everything crumbled apart. Going from a prosperous life to a life of poverty, it was just her and her mother now in this world. They couldn't afford their home in Tokyo and moved out to Jinto at the beginning of her high school years. Her mother now works a minimum-paying job while this female is trying to work hard to be able to go to a good school. In the middle of the night, this female thought she heard her father's voice out of nowhere. Despite the fear in her, she went out of her house and tried to pursue whatever was trying to mock her father, in anger.

The Bully [m]
Just like the cold-hearted Princess, not much is known about the bully. People are scared of his presence because of all of the rumors that are often not true about him. It is said that he often goes for the weak and intelligent students who often do well in class and bullies them to the point where they have to give up their lunch money and force them to give him their homework/work. Despite this, the bully's true intentions were never known because he never fought against the rumors. This name was given to him, but the real reason why he goes after certain students is that they often manipulated his friends and classmates into doing work such as forcing them to clean up their home or even doing their homework. Of course, the bully had been in fights before, but this was to protect him and his friends. With the title, "school bully" under his belt, he can care no less, as long as it means that people are doing the right thing. One day, the bully had been chasing after one of the kids after they forced a student to steal something at the store, but the bully had suddenly disappeared into thin air.

This roleplay is going to be 18+, so please advise!
rule two
This will take place somewhere in the countryside near Tokyo, Japan. Please advise that we will be using realistic face claims. This roleplay is heavily implied on the inspiration of All of Us are Dead and the game Detention (Taiwanese game), but without the zombies and without any deaths. (Also heavily inspired by Asian superstitions.)
rule three
Posts should be at least once a week with at least a paragraph or two. I will be guiding the roleplayers with encounters with ghosts and demons, so it is highly important that the roleplayers follow along with what is going on.

Please keep drama-free with fellow roleplayers. Drama can occur within the roleplay, but not outside of this.
