No one expected the world to end in the way that it did. People had long predicted Nuclear war, Technological singularity, Zombies, hell even aliens but no one predicted it would be our very own imaginations that would bring an end to all we have built. It all started in 2023, When a virus started to spread, this strange microbe seemed to ignore usual protections and once afflicted the victim would slip into a coma. That was just the first stage and all over the world special facilities were opened where comatose patients would he kept alive and studied. It wasn’t until two years later in 2025 that the strange events began to transpire. First the virus seemed to lose its infectivity and no new cases were reported, then a weird gravitational anomaly occured in colorado allowing people to fly but only in an area of about 100 miles. The anomaly lasted about three weeks before it suddenly shut down and dozens would fall to their deaths. Another strange anomaly occurred in London and for a brief three day period pure chaos unfolded as people began to be able to hear each others thoughts. Scientists began to scramble and find solutions and after a few months they had tied to causes of these anomalies to those in comatose states and a global decision was made to euthanize the Sleepers.
This was a good idea on paper but those who came up with it were woefully unaware of what they were about to unleash. when the euthanasia occurred all hell broke loose. Suddenly the anomalous events exploded and crazy things began to go down. Physics would randomly change, massive insane natural disasters occurred. Among the growing disasters and potential end of mankind, the last sleeper facility entered lockdown just as the hellish nightmare creatures began to spawn in.
Strange beasts that seemed to defy all we know about Biology or logic began to arise all across the world. It took less than a month for the entire global civilization to collapse after they began to arrive. Mankind expended all of its gunpowder, Oil, and yes nuclear weapons trying to fight back these abominations but in the end all they would do is speed up their own downfall. When the final nuclear strikes were unleashed with them came massive EMP’s and the world going dark. With communication no longer intact and the fuel to keep fighting gone mankind began to retreat and for a time it was accepted that our run had met its end, no longer were we the top of the food chain and no more was the world ours.

Over a Thousand years would pass with humanity hiding in the darkness of caves, tunnels, and forests. Without internet, or electricity, or a stable environment to live in humanity had to start from square one again. We went back to fighting with sticks and rocks having forgotten the luxuries of high technology in only a few generations. People would slowly grow to form small nomadic communities as the mass gathering of people to form cities no longer was a good strategy for survival. Eventually these nomadic communities would find sanctuaries where they would begin to build infrastructure are refined techniques for crafting would lead to clothes and tools being once again handcrafted. However the biggest change mankind encountered was the rise of the Mystics and Adepts.
Certain people, very rarely, would be born manifesting strange abilities unique to the individual. This abilities would be split into two categories. The Mystics who would gain an entirely new ability such as the power to gather and unleash electricity, and the Adepts who would have some of their natural abilities pushed beyond what should be humanly possible such as gaining incredible strength. With these incredible people being born hopes are high that mankind may well be able to reclaim their world. However these unique individuals while impressive certainly cannot save the world on their own.

One nomadic clan has their own idea on how to best utilize them. The Nogha people have decided that the few Adepts and Mystics in their population will become a ambassador group, traveling the paths yet unwalked in the hopes of finding other people, potential sanctuaries, or resources if nothing else. This is the Story of these Nogha Mystics and Adepts, known by their people as the Dreamers
