Just wondering how people prefer to post in RP groups, since there's so many different ways and outlets to do so. Let me know why you prefer whichever option you choose!

I agree that BBCode formatting is out of control and often a massive waste of time for all concerned, 100% agreed. You could (which is something I've been thinking about doing) establish a post template for your own forum game and disallow anyone from formatting outside your given parameters. This might hurt you with the BBCode-heavy crowd as some of them enjoy it to an absurd extent, but it is worth it in my mind, and an attractive enough pitch will have people disregard that entirely.I hate formatted posts passionately
Thank you for this! I think that's a wonderful idea! I'll definitely have to try this out if I make a make a group RP on here. You could establish a post template for your own forum game and disallow anyone from formatting outside your given parameters.
Well, RPN is opened on both for me as well as Discord. However, I do not reply via phones if I have a chance to use anything else in the nearest time, as i's rather uncomfortable for me to type using a phone, which makes me be bfrief and ignore any typos I make. Therefore, short, basic, and probably grammatically incorrect posts. I avoid using phones for those as much as I can, but I do read a lot nonetheless. That said, RPN has a rather comfortable mobile version.I like how it's an app I always have open on both my phone and computer so reply time is faster and I never forget to respond.
Might I add that none of the three is also actually necessary? You can just pop into another person's search thread, and jump into the RP without any ritual dances around CS and extra pages too! You just approach the guy, establish what you wanna do, and hen just... do it. One thread. Nothing else needed, you only keep track of a single thread just like you would on Discord c:1. Interest Check in the relevant genre.
2. In Character thread in the relevant genre
3. Extra Page (usually for out of character talk and character sheets)
Not to come off as mean, but-uh..?You could (which is something I've been thinking about doing) establish a post template for your own forum game

I think this strongly depends on a group itself. Some might need more coordination than others, but in my experience extra pages are usually needed only for the DM, and are generally ignored by players. Unless we speak OOC, but I avoid those threads just because it's usual to get a hundred messages there per one message in the game, and it saddens me: reading about all the cool stuff players say they'll do instead of just going out there into the RP and doing it, you know? For this purpose many people create Discord servers, though, it's much faster. That's how I do it for 1x1 but for groups, I think that can get a little chaotic, right?
Edgy. Not to come off as mean, but-uh..?
That's alright, it's been done plenty of times before. But the omission of a template can have annoying consequences.Thank you for this! I think that's a wonderful idea! I'll definitely have to try this out if I make a make a group RP on here.
Don’t tell me y’all don’t use google hangout
Wait that still exists? Legit I thought Google did away with that feature.
Good list. But anyone in their right mind will write their post in a word processor, like google docs, grammarly or word and then paste. Not that I think you don't know that. Just thought I add to the caveat.Losing connection may delete your whole work
I mean, I don't. I just double check with the preview button to see if the internet is working enough for my post to get through.Good list. You saying I'm not sane?Good list. But anyone in their right mind will write their post in a word processor, like google docs, grammarly or word and then paste. Not that I think you don't know that. Just thought I add to the caveat.
