The Pun Tyrant
- Turbulent Start
Here I am with an interest check. Following the recent death of a D&D campaign I was DMing, I am still left with the desire to try to play D&D. As such, I am bringing some plots for your consideration, for 1x1 or 1x2 campaigns. Either one I will be acting as both DM and player.
I welcome both veterans of the game and newcomers alike. As long as you're friendly and patient, I think we can get along splendid, and I definitely want to befriend the people I partner with. That being said, I do feel the need to mention I have a slow posting pace, and the time I am posting this thread on happens to be a troublesome one, as I have both an upcoming an exam, and vacations coming after that. I do not see another time for me to post an interest check like this coming though, and so I am making it now, but I want to put these posting difficulties in clear plates both out of a duty to honesty and because I want partners who want to work with me while being aware of this, rather than because they mistakenly thought I would be a faster poster or more active than I am.
With these matters out of the way, onto the rules.
- Here is a brief overview of what the rules for the D&D campaigns will be here.
Number of Characters and Players: First, as I can only take a limited number of RPs right now (as in two or three at most) if it happens that I get more interest than expected then I will want to make 1x2 RPs (meaning a 3 player RP) to be able to take on more people, if they agree to do so that is. Second, in each plot you will see marked an expected numbers of characters. This is the number of characters that are intended to be in the campaign. If we're doing a 1x2 then we'll just ignore it and play 1 character each. If however we're doing a 1x1 and the campaign requires four characters, then that would mean we'd both need to play 2 characters each. Plots that say 2-4 mean they can be played in either version.
In plots M and Y indicate "my characters" and "your characters" respectively.
Starting Stats, Level, Etc...: We will make level 3 characters (feats and multiclassing both allowed). We will roll for stats, using 4d6 and dropping the lowest, and we can use the stats that any person rolled. Meaning I could use the same dice you rolled and vice versa. We will also use starting items, but have the ability to sell those items or roll for gold with one roll maximized.
Allowed Content: Any official content is allowed, including things like MTG books and planeshift, with homebrew and UA requiring approval from both of us on a case by case basis.
Post Requirements As per usual, I will not be particularly imposing a time / pacing requirement for posts. However, I do set length requirements, but these will vary depending on the kind of RP we're doing. I made a table to visualize this more easily:
- One Character Two Characters Non-Initiative 500 700 Initiative 300 400
In addition, I plan on potentially experimenting on certain scenes with session-like writing. These will be posted as collaborative posts and will not be subject to the same requirements, though at least for now I intend for them to be a rare occurrence.
Art/Faceclaim Requirements: Personally, I will be using anime-style art for my characters, and for NPCs/environment this will likely depend on which setting we're using. Other than a couple of the plots, in which an anime artstyle is required if any is used at all, for all plots feel free to use realistic art, and of course descriptions are fine too. Photos are not though.
Other Requirements
----> Discord. I intend to communicate there, as well as roll there.
----> My limits mainly consist of three things: Politics, porn and demons. I don't want politics injected where they aren't called for as I want to avoid the arguments and tense time-bombs that come from it. I want to joke around and hang out without the constant fear of stepping on some kind of landmine. Porn is obvious, it's breaking the site rules, and demons are a personal pet peeve of mine, but more specifically it's a "good/neutral demons" pet peeve.
Storm Over Rivayle
(★★★★★★★)Rivayle, land of bullets and sand. It is a dog eat dog world, and at the top of it stand the three demigods known as the titans: Through the terror she so loves, Nahtnaught, the Titan of Force, reigns over the outlaws and the unwelcome in polite society. The law in turn, is commanded by Vincent the Titan of Order, who mostly abstains from any action beyond routine even in his position as the Sheriff. And then there is the worst of their bunch, Iceschillendrig, Titan of Prosperity, who owns a near monopoly on just about everything in Rivayle, around whose existence the wealthy classes are formed. It would be far from a stretch to suggest much of the strife of Rivayle comes from him, as the divide between rich and poor is steep indeed, leaving some in prosperity and others fighting each other for the scraps..
> Setting: Rivayle
> Genres: Dice; Western Fantasy
>Expected Characters: 4
> Notes: 1.Anime images required
2. Players start with a free proficiency, recommended firearms proficiency.
3.Homebrew firearms and firearm rules.
Yet, something is stirring in Rivayle. The feats of two bandits, Bunny and Baron, are of particular interest, and it is rumored a big announcement from them is coming up, with the backing of the Titan of Force herself. As they are perhaps the greatest threat to Iceschillendrig outside of the Titans that has ever appeared to this day, you are eager, or curious at least, as to what this announcement may entail.
Afterall, you've got your bones to pick with the Titan of Prosperity. Whatever your origins - an agent of the law, an outcast forced by circumstances into criminality, a common citizen or even a stranger to Rivayle itself - Y and M have come together to form a group, a coalition that is readying their plan to strike at the Titan and take him down a notch. Fortunately, an opportunity has appeared to acquire some of the funds they would need for their operations, from a desperate mine owner whose property is currently inhabited by wretches.
Perhaps, however, this mine has more secrets than what you've bargained for...
Special Assassin Class B, the First
(★★★★★☆☆)There are all kinds of skills that could be useful in assassination. Acting. Sharpshooting. Medicine. Poisoning. Even brute force. Unfortunately for the students of Special Class B, however, their "very particular sets of skills" happen to be more narrow than most, or some other crippling flaw has made their presence undesirable in other, more competent teams. To remove their bad influence, this special class was created gathering students like them regardless of age or specialization, so as to learn to work to overcome their flaws, or at least to work together enough as to not be a liability.
> Setting: Secluded Academy, Mantle (Kingdom of Grandfell)
> Genres: Dice; Fantasy; Comedy; School; Near-Dungeon-Crawl
>Expected Characters: 2-4
> Notes: Will be using a flaw add-on system.
They will receive special classes, diving into a dungeon, receiving practical missions and given tasks by staff and faculty to both improve their skills and their reputation.
Good luck Special Class B! We don't want a repeat of what happened to special class A!
March of the Afterlife
(★★★★★☆☆)The city of Naktamun is the only bastion of life and civilization in the plane of Amonkhet, an egyptian-mythology-themed world. Outside its barrier of water, there is an endless desert, where even the release of death is denied as the curse of wandering causes one to rise back. Still, within the city life flourishes watched over by its give gods, who oversee the guidance of the populace and the trials for which they are trained since young. With each trial, the members of a crop prove their worth to the god-pharaoh, so that they might be killed by Hazoreth at the final trial, given a glorious death worthy of joining the god-pharaoh in the afterlife.
> Setting: Amonkhet (MTG)
> Genres: Dice; Fantasy; Adventure
>Expected Characters: 2-4
> Notes: Alternatively, one or both of our characters could be planeswalkers, mages who travel the multiverse with a planeswalker spark. This will be required to play a race that is not native to Amonkhet.
Most inhabitants accept this and prepare with all their might to become the one among their crop who will be worthy of the god-pharaoh when he returns, and most who doubt are dealt with "appropriately". Yet, when X and Y are meant to undergo the trials as well, the doubt begins to rise in their minds as well. Will they undergo the trials as intended? Will they search for the truth?
And if they succeed...
What truth will they find?
Life Among the Ruins
(★★★★★☆☆)Once upon a time, the kingdoms of Azakut were prosperous nations who fought their enemies with the power of summoned otherworlders, eventually turning in on each other. The escalating arms race to summon powerful otherworlders ended up causing a dimensional rift, which allowed monstrous beings to enter the world and ravage it, leaving almost no sentient being alive.
> Setting: (former) Kingdoms of Azakut
> Genres: Dice; Isekai; Fantasy; Post-Apocalyptic; Survival; Slice of Life
>Expected Characters: 2-4
> Notes: N/A
This is the world that M and Y were summoned to, a product of an accident and the last one of its kind there would ever be. There naught but dust and ruins around them, not one living soul. Their bodies had gained the power of world's system, but beyond that there was nothing they could, no one they could talk to. They could only survive.
This is an RP about their everyday lives surviving in this post-apocalyptic fantasy world.
Kingdom of Graves
(★★★★☆☆☆)Centuries ago, an undead plague swept the Great Kingdom of the Thunderfalls. The entire continent had no choice but to evacuate to the surrounding islands the undead would not travel to, and those who didn't joined their ranks. The causes, and the lives in the Great Kingdom are now long since dead, and have grown hazy... but like those dead, they did not stay buried. The Greylight order of Paladins has decided to take on the tasks of assisting a settlement doing something previously thought impossible: Assist people in creating a settlement, taking over even a portion of the Great Kingdom's former territory. The order is now hiring adventurers who will join them in this perilous venture, if not to be the vanguard, then at least to assist the settler's protection.
> Setting: The Waken Isles
> Genres: Dice; Fantasy; Adventure; Exploration
>Expected Characters: 4

Mashouryuu, A Draconic Magical Girls's Adventure
(★★★☆☆☆☆)Whatever the nominal governments may be, everyone knows the truth. The dragon guild are those with the real power and authority, dealing behind the scenes to each control an aspect of society so completely it might crumble without them. Of course, most people don't actually believe they were founded by dragons, as they claim, but whether ordained by celestial dragons or simply bastions of corrupt, monopolizing influence and connections, there is little difference for most people.
> Setting: Dracnarim
> Genres: Dice; Mahou-Shoujo; Urban Fantasy
>Expected Characters: 2-4
> Notes: Anime images required
For a few, however, there is a big difference, those chosen and blessed by the celestial dragons, to act on their behalf. Dressing in blessed garments, chanting words to invoke the magic bestowed upon their souls, and combating the terrestrial and magmatic dragons and their spawn, these are the magical girls who not only protect the world and its peace, but also are tasked with insuring the secrets of dragonkind are preserved.
Some unknown force is moving in the shadows, however, seeking to release the Progenitor of both terrestrial and magmatic dragons, and thus bring upheaval. M and Y are tasked with working together to stop this from happening by stamping out the source of the disturbances.
Lost in Logosia
(★★★☆☆☆☆)The world M and Y live in, not very far into our future, is overflowing with immersive virtual reality games. As it happens, a certain backwater title, The Arcane City, Logosia, is made the subject of rumors as an extremely rich and influential lady, Laura Stanford, has invited a number of people to a party hosted within that very game, including M and Y.
> Setting: Earth
> Genres: Dice; VRMMORPG; Scifi; Mystery
>Expected Characters: 2
> Notes: N/A
Those in attendance suddenly find all entrances closed, as Laura announces that those who manage to escape the castle the party was being held in without logging out or going over the time limit will be given a special quest. The quest is to find a certain person within the city that gives the game its namesake, and escape said city with the person. Succeed, and you will be given a fortune, and if you so desire, fame as well.
The more time one spends in this game, however, the more oddly realistic it seems... The more alive everything seems.
