Charity from the Upper City

<<< Remember

The ride to the Charity event was alright enough, watching TV in the family limousine was nice, though the ride could of been way smoother if it wasn't for one problem, Kat was driving. The radio was turned up so loudly that the limousine was vibrating with each beat, any sound from the TV was drowned out by the music, but on the bright side, they were going to get to their destination faster at the very least. The assault on both Helva and her escort maid Zahira ears felt longer than it actually was, any complaints would be drowned out by the music, so they had no real choice but to endure until they arrived to their destination. When the music died down a bit, they had both figured that they had finally arrived to the Charity event, "YO, WE ARE FINALLY HERE!" after a few moments the limousine had come to a halt, and the door to it opened up allowing for Zahira to make her exit. Zahira stood to the side as a formality and to assist with helping her exit the Vehicle smoothly, when Helva was finally out, Zahira went to the front of the Limousine, and told Kat "Be sure to stay nearby, and be sure to not blast music loud enough that the entire Charity will be able to hear it from inside of the building, remember we are here to represent the Linxal family, so don't cause a scene." before Kat could utter a word though, Zahira raised her hand let out a sigh and went back to Helva in order to escort her "I'll call when you are needed." . Zahiras attention was now fully on Helva as of now, she then stood slightly in front of Helvas right, before then saying "If you would Ms.Linxal."
1648879177645.png
With those words said Zahira escorted Helva into the Charity event while Kat meanwhile drove off to whatever place she wanted to go to that was close by. They were able to get in without much issue, any security that was present would instantly be able to tell that they belonged by the way the carried themselves. A few of the other guests stop to conserve with Helva, and she obliged with short and sweet conversations, ones done out of politeness more so than thrill. After a moments of talking though, she was able to take a break and felt a bit exhausted, from the entire event.

Opting to take a seat at a table close to the walls so that she could watch the Charity event without much of a hassle, she sat down and glanced at all the people that were currently dancing. She could opt to join them, but she really wasn't in the mood to dance unless she felt like she had to do one as a courtesy, after a moment of being bored and looking around she was able to spot a familiar white hair. It took a moment for Helva to realize that she knew that boy, the young Albrecht, doing the same thing he always did, which was toy with his phone, hidden rage boiled deep inside her upon seeing him, but she was able to wear the mask of boredom well enough to where only her eyes darkened a bit at the sight of him. If Helva wasn't at a formal event, and wasn't representing her family at the moment, she would of went over, tore his limbs off and then pin them to a wall in East to send a message to the other Dragon friends of his. Luckily for him though, that wasn't something she could or would do at the moment, though the fact they are attending the charity event when they are in fact the ones that caused the destruction of their bridge in the first place was a bit strange to her. Still she didn't ponder too much on it as her escort maid asked "Ms.Linxal is everything alright?" with a sigh Helva directed a smile towards her, and politely spoke "Yes, if you would please go grab me a drink if you could." "Certainly Ms.Linxal." with that Zahira made her way to fetch Helva a drink leaving Helva alone for the moment. "Man, i probably should of came with my Brother."

INSUFFICIENT DETAILS
<<< Remember

How disappointing. Nine days and they still hadn’t worked on repairing Mach Sling enough for it to be usable. She watched on from a nearby rooftop as the cops scoured the area. She was undetectable of course, there would be little gained from being a distraction to their efforts.

At least for now.

She would have to let her annoyance known to their dear little monkey another day.

Perhaps?

Or would that be too much for just her favorite little bowling alley?

Maybe she would just make them clean it up.

But no, wasn't it under tiger management now? If the boss was still honoring that deal. She’d need to pay him a little visit someday soon. Or send the twins.

She threw herself from the rooftop to get a closer look at the damage. She manifested her form more corperally allowing anyone in the area to see her clearly.

She let out a loud whistle.

“Woowie, now that’s a very destroyed building.”

The nearby cops jumped as one drew a gun on her. She could have laughed, no gun in the world could touch her right now. You’d think they’d be better informed. But alas this is why she had thrown her lot with the gangs instead.

“Who are you??? How did you get past the barricades???”

She crossed her arms over her chest before walking right through him to get a better look at what was left of the building. She turned her head back to the officer with a smirk before deciding to tease him a bit.

“Now now don’t be so quick to be stupid. Just go and do your job.- Aww our little darlings really did quite the number on this place. How disappointing.”

Realization seemed to cross this poor man’s mind as he watched the woman walk around unfettered.

“BOSS.”

“Well why’d you have to go make this serious?”

She let her form become less corporal once more making her unseen to passers by. With her form more or less invisible she sauntered off back to the direction she had left Yuudai waiting. Before fully leaving the area she decided to leave them with a little parting gift.

“Clean it up well okay? I really do miss my favorite bowling alley.”

ALL PROCEEDS
The mood of the day was pink. White also. Fahru had been constantly on the move, shifting, bustling. Backstage, a parrot reminded the busy workers of its existence by ways of unprovoked shrieks and heavy flapping. One moment the girl, pouting, was resting her face squeezingly in both hands, eyes on the disharmonically mess in a carton box before her – thoroughly a disgusting mess; the next, she rose, bouncing sneakers on the floor – no one heard, the noise was such that even her most fixated thoughts were almost drown out. Then she ran down the steps, leaping almost, and landed, softly and swiftly, but in any case, in a very abandonedly animated manner. Her colors of choice for the day – vibrant blue her hair, bright red her glasses frame—peeked out, sheepishly, to get a look at the noisy crowd of audience. The millions of voices were superimposed over by a rich but artificial melody and they all blended together into a mixture of condensed practiced, calculated, exploding mood, that assaulted her, intensively and without reserve. And the smell, it was something else, of refreshments, greasy foods and people upon people – sweat, then many thing else much personal to each. This disconnected place from the world in its own man made sounds, man made smell, man made mood overwhelmed the girl who had spent 17 years of her life on a quiet, demure stretch of land where upon the sneeze of a horse could travel farther than his hooves in half a day. She liked it this way though. Everything about it. It fueled her. Out of the gray jumble of a mass, for that was all she could see, she made out movements and feelings and excitement, then also a bizarre, perverted sort of harmony of the mind and even the heart. It hit her, and in turn, she hungrily took in all in, overclocking all her senses to ensnare it, making it her own. It was a slippery thing, but she didn’t let go. Then she ran back, carrying all that peculiar mood in both hands firmly and more tenderly than a mother and her newborn. She sprang, almost. It was pure insanity to navigate that backstage full of hustling people ever so short on time, but she made it somehow, as nimbly as a gazelle among lions. She ducked, dodged, and sidestepped heavy boxes carried by heavy men, over and under wires, speedlights and in the face of shouts and curses. Once, she leaped over someone on their stomach searching for his mic between road cases. But when she reached her spot from before, she seized the box as if a hidden force was keen on snatching it away, just when her mind had been arranged in a way she had been longing for all day. Then and there, she sat and buried her hands in a fairly big carton box. Her fingers laced into and stirred and whirled until she could not differ them from all the other thin, flat shapes in the box. When doing so, she conjured up the intense impression looking at the people crowding for the concert had imposed upon her. The expectant audience mixed in together with the crafted atmosphere and a suggestion of rain. Colors shot from her fingers, and invaded the obedient resident in the box. They came to life now, whirring like snakes to the tunes of her emotions. And they interweaved. What was before a mess of metal wires, newspaper, wrapping papers, fliers, pipes, threads, ropes, and God knows what random objects Fahru had asked Daemon to gather for her around the place, had now taken on entirely different shapes. Randomly they seemed: hearts, moons, flowers and stars, all under a new coat of paint to obscure their crude nature. And the shades were dominantly pastel – childish and optimistic and bright and lovely.

But there was still something missing. Fahru’s shoulders slumped, and the cute shapes all dropped back into the box, making dull sounds of disappointment. It lacked still something, she was sure of it. But what? She rose abruptly and began to pace around. Maximon, seeing his Mistress in deep distress, came over and made circles above her head. Distractedly, she stopped in her tracks and raised her left arm, at the same time, her white sleeve was dyed a deep blue hue. Upon which the parrot perched on, and dug his talons into the sleeve that was now as hardened as strong leather. In that particular abstract state, the instant her fingers touched his feathers, a mixture of white and pink passed over from her filled up mind to his coat. Maximon was now in all white with pink accents at the soft edge of his feathers. She gave his new look a chuckle, then resumed her pacing around the box. It was a big box, stuffed full. Passeri had tasked her with "making special effects", but what exactly, she hadn’t an idea. So she had been improvising, and this box here was the extent of her efforts. It was clear that Fahru had no experience with the performance art, and how could she when there were never more than a few closely related families to perform for back in her days on the steppes.

With ease she lifted the box. A bit unwieldy, so her frame was not large enough to carry it without looking ridiculous. She had decided that the only person who should know what she was supposed to do was the idol herself. She headed on towards the commentary room. There she placed the box by the door, not going in just yet, but again started pacing. Her expression was a bit troubled. Even Maximon was behaving in a good manner and quiet. Then, when Fahru had finished rehearsing what to say, she pushed the door open.

Inside she saw the famous Passeri on the phone with someone. Timidly, not wanting to disrupt the idol’s business, Fahru tiptoed to a quite empty spot on the floor and placed her box down. There she stood, trying not to stare at the woman too brazenly. One could argue that the intimidating presence of a famous person like Passeri could be lessened by the knowledge that she too, like Fahru, was a Tiger. Because though holding different stations in life they both shared a secret, and that, somehow, were not so different from each other. But for Fahru, it was not so simple. The existence of Passeri was huge, and held much meanings. She was one, that Fahru knew from hearsay among the veteran Tigers, who once had nothing to her name but a big zero, but had by her own effort rose up the ranks of society by sheer talent and hardwork. That was something. Something astounding. What you hear only in fairy tales or feels-good movies. And yet here she was, the Passeri herself, beloved and worshipped by many. And it was all herself, and not at the expense of the less fortunate and downtrodden beings. Fahru was currently looking at the idol the way a child would look at a fat bearded man sliding down her chimney with a bag of presents just after being told earlier in the day that Santa wasn’t real. How wonderful she was, yet one could only imagine what amount of hardships she would’ve had gone through. And then, and this was a huge point also, the fact that this concert was held for charity purpose. How could it be? A Tiger and a charity! What an oxymoron. But if anyone on earth could be both a Tiger and a charitable character, certainly she would be one extraordinary someone. And precisely for that reason that Fahru was looking at the woman with round doe eyes behind her round glasses. A subject of adoration was right there before her. An idol but not for the reason the people outside had gathered here for. She was kind, she was talented, she was inspiring, and above all, pretty, so pretty. Everything about her was, her heart, her soul, her voices, her skills and it was true also about her look. And it felt perfectly justified that so many had come just to see her. Ah, how she longed to be taught to be like her. And though the desire was a bit more selfish than she would like, Fahru had determined to try, at least, to befriend the woman. Perhaps, together they could make a difference to the current state of New Oasis. If anyone could, that would be Passeri Park – a fact Fahru thoroughly believed to be indisputable.

A Brief Meditation

Omar had tried to reach out to some of his contacts to try and investigate where the lady in red got her weapons like the throwing knifes and the now broken scythe. Omar had left the scythe back at the Azure Dragons head quarters as the thing is too big to carry without standing out. However Omar did took one of the throwing knives but so far his contacts seem to point out the obvious of it being a pretty weapon.

Omar decided that he need to get someone who is more of a black smith or maybe a metallurgist who could do some tests on the throwing knife. Worse case scenario maybe someone from the black market might know the who, the how or the where about this throwing knife. It's too early for that path in this investigation so right now time to buy some extra tools at the hardware store or to be more precise Al's hardware store as the store commercial goes: "For all your handy man needs come to Al's hardware store. Where you can find any tool here, if you can't find it here then you can't find it anywhere."

Paint, led lights, paint thinner, nine volt batteries, nails, wires, brush, pliers, spray paint cans, soldering iron and a claw hammer and bring it towards the cashier before reaching into his inner coat pocket to pull out a wallet after a total was made would Omar pull out the exact change in Amestrian Yen and handed to the cashier behind the cash register before picking up his tools in the shops tote bags. Omar would continue on his weird shopping run to acquire the necessary parts to create an unusual tool to help complete future tasks.

Omar would eventually wind up at Mister Kairong's tea shop and it still feels odd coming here. Omar could not relax at this place even though its just a tea shop, it felt more like entering a den of a dragon and in ones mind you could see the dragon readying its claws and breath to attack. One part of Omar was screaming at him to prepare for a fight of a life time, where as another part of Omar is saying that Lin Kairong is expecting us and it would be rude to keep him waiting. Omar looks around for a bit before taking a short breath of air and walked into the tea shop.

The market wasn't a place Dyne liked, really. Too many people, too strong a stench, and too dusty. She bought her grocery from Hassan's Store. Clean, air-conditioned, and he did delivery, too. Really, and it rained, too. How troublesome~

"Really, what an awful day it is to be out and about, isn't it darling?"

Dyne sighed a sigh that was not a sigh, and spoke lines directed at both Ra and Julien both, one of them, or none. She and the two darlings were supposed to patrol the district, but really, it was more fun together. A thin membrane protected the trio from the light shower, though the it occasionally flickered at the edges. All she could do was to pull the boys closer by their arms so she could protect them from the rain better. It just couldn't be helped that she had to conserve her Potential and couldn't make the barrier wider.

Alas, a cry for help interrupted their beautiful promenade. Dyne answered the frightened merchant and smiled. "Why, you are right, darling. Were you spying on us? I'm scared if that is the case~"

Sweet her voice sounded as Dyne pulled closer at Ra, as if truly scared, though her smile, shimmering eyes, and playful tone denoted no such note. Really, between her flagrant dress red as begonias and the darlings eye-catching appearance, it was not difficult to conclude they were Dragons. No one else had the confidence and poise to walk in such grace them.

Dyne took one swept at the ransacked stall, and her smile widened. "Did you see where this fiend go, darling? If he hasn't gone far, we can catch him without a problem."

Fiend, he, him. Dyne was hoping the culprit was a man. Justice would be an awful lot of fun, then~

What day was it?

She didn’t know any longer.

The days blurred into some mess of soup as if she had been down here for months.

She couldn’t remember the last time she had proper sleep.

She’d passed out once.

Her body being pushed beyond its natural limits.

She supposed that was the sign they were waiting for.

The music stopped.

She thinks it did anyways.

She also thought she saw spiders.

She might have.

But then the spider brought a blade down to her arm and spoke.

She didn’t know what she saw anymore.

He wasn’t sure just what he was supposed to accomplish without better information. He flipped open his phone and looked at the list of notes he had taken. He had pulled some strings and done his own looking into what happened, after all it wasn’t like there weren’t plenty of witnesses to the apparent chaos that overtook his district.

It was amazing what could come from one damn day he takes it easy and takes his mother out for dinner.

He left one day and they were flying high, the next they'd been doxxed, were at a tense position with the phoenixes, and he didn’t even get much information out of his tight-lipped Ace friend. It would be so much easier if he was just down to fuck. Loose lips were a staple of being between the sheets.

Still he couldn’t change what was already done. He had a few little missions lined up once he got back delaying his ability to join some of the more focused efforts. Which was all the better for him, he didn’t particularly want to join in torture, even if his mentor being there would ground him.

Realistically his power would be perfect for it, killing two birds with one stone, keeping her awake and causing her pain…but that was a plan for another day and only if they couldn’t get it out of her quickly enough today.

For now he was on a mission. He had a tailor to see. With any luck, fabric that extravagant would have passed through her hands.

From every eyewitness report the woman who was part of the chaos was attractive, well dressed, and a goddamn terror. An actual description of the face would be better. Hell even a hair color would do but he supposed beggars couldn’t be choosers. And people who weren’t even officially on the case could be even less decisive.

Somehow it didn’t surprise him at all that the people of the pleasure district focused on their bodies first.

It’s because this didn’t surprise him at all that helped him to keep aware of prying eyes.

Unfortunately, try as he might he couldn’t continue to ignore the two clear followers this girl was attracting. He readjusted his mic strapped to his back as the weight kept causing it to sink to hit him in the heels. He kept his air natural, managing to make tangling it in a nearby rack look like an accident. The entire rack came down scaring the people passing by.

“Wha- WAA, FUCK. SORRY.”

His pretended to attempt to catch the rack. It hit with an audible bang and his “attempt” failed. Instead he stepped closer to the girl who was being tailed and whispered to her.

“Are you okay? Hey you have some people following you do you need an out? I can probably take ‘em.”

A beautiful life. A beautiful lie.

She sat bored as she listened to her mother singing from her seat on the upper balcony landing. Technically this area was meant to be off limits to all but the Seda family but she shooed off the guards stationed in their corner as soon as she had come to the landing.

For one she was the Tiger Queen. If anyone needed protection it certainly wasn’t her, not from the idiots Feliciano managed to wrangle anyways. Even barring the events of last week. If anything she dared anyone to try, she needed a little amusement in her life. She couldn’t think of anything more amusing than flipping an idiot off a story or two drop down to the stage below.

Her second reason for doing so was more for personal privacy. Akira, Basilio, and Adam were the only ones she could talk frankly around. Her brother had left some time earlier, something about helping their mom with choosing the playlist. She could only imagine he’d gotten distracted by the food along the way.

“I couldn’t imagine anywhere I would less like to be…”

She had no objections to the hall itself. It was nice, it was pretty, and she could certainly get a good party going if they had better guests. She knew the disinterest in the life of the rich had to be apparent to Akira by now. Still it was a nice enough life to raise Adam under.

“Grammy sing”

Clapping could be heard as Adam sat straighter up in awe of the stage. She gave a soft smile as she quickly got up and lifted him up to help him get a better view of the stage.

“Aww you’re right Grandma sang for us.”

She looked back to Akira with a sly smirk betraying her next words.

“Why don’t you ask Daddy to sing too?”

Happily Ever After

“You sure she’s somewhere in here?”

“Positive,”
Purchasing a box of cream puffs from one of the bakery shops in the mall’s food court area, Elias’s lips quirked upward in amusement as he watched Ronald Crawford, his ‘senior’ and an NP in the Albino Tiger Gang, pace. Tracking Alice—or rather Janay Fox—to the mall hadn’t been too difficult. He simply followed the trail of memories of the people around them. Someone he’d touched, had spotted them entering. Someone he’d touched, also informed him, via their memories, that the fashion mongul Acacia Fox had joined them. Seemed the Fox siblings had become traitors—just like the Jack that had been killed 9 days ago.

All for an ivory claw.

Or, in the case of the Fox siblings, a young lady.

If the current Jack were here, Elias doubted she would have little problems finding Alice. The innocent blonde stood out as the friendliest veteran of all those within the Albino Tiger Gang, such that she was pretty hard to miss, even for someone as quiet and withdrawn as Mouse. Alas, Isobel was busy looking for the claw for the King. Which left the task of hunting down young Alice for the Queen up to him. Or rather Ronald. Ronald had taken the grunt work of bringing the ‘merchandise’ back for the bosses. Elias simply tagged along because his ‘friend’ and fellow tiger rookie requested it, his potential was useful in the current scenario, and he’d been the last person to interact with Alice since she disappeared 9 days ago.

9 days.

Elias shook his head as he sat himself in one of the food court tables with the box of crème puffs and a cup of coffee. Frankly, it mattered little to him whether Alice left the gang or not. He doubted it mattered much to Weiss as well. She was one source of funds. She wasn’t the only source of funds. She didn’t seem like the sort to belong in a gang like the Albino Tigers either. He wasn’t so deeply invested in the gang that he would try very hard to stop her if she willingly left. If she truly wanted to leave.

The key word, of course, was willing.

Elias had paid his way into the Albino Tiger Gang for his own reasons. Alice hadn’t, from what he’d seen of her memories. He doubted Fox told the young girl much of anything when he’d taken her away from all she was familiar with on their 9-day excursion either. From his point of view, and he’d only been working in the gang for a year (part time, really) helping out his fellow criminals when Elijah Anamnesis was requested, Mr. Hat was the one that sheltered Alice the most from the truth. Elias played a part in it as well, he supposed…hence why he felt inclined to see the Alice-matter through to end. Perhaps he even felt a little bit guilty about it.

Did she want her memories back? Would she be happier with her memories back?

If where to give her the full truth of the memories he’d acquired, would she break? Change? Grow stronger from it? Would she choose to leave the gang or continue to play the game? Elias couldn’t deny that he was more curious to see what would happen if he did that than his desire to bring her back to the Tigers’ Den. He liked Alice well enough. Would probably be miss all the tea times and cookies if she left as well…but he had the memories. He’d never had a hard time letting go of things either—like in the case of his first girlfriend.

Life was a series of choices until you died anyway.

Perhaps it was time he gave her back hers.

kaiki_deishu_9946.jpg
“My friends have spotted someone who looks like the brat near a clothing store,” Answering his phone, Ronald looked to Elias .

“What are we waiting for then?” Finishing his cup of coffee, Elias—or rather, Elijah Anamnesis—tossed it in a nearby trash bin before getting his feet with the box of a dozen crème puffs or so encased in a plastic bag . With Miss Fortune looking, Elias had little doubt luck would be on their side. Cowboy Jack provided the offense necessary to barrel through any obstacles. And, once Alice was found, Elijah Anamnesis would adjust her memories as necessary to bring a ‘willing’ Alice back into their fold. Possibly two ‘willing’ Foxes as well. Truly a team built to retrieve their little runaway princess...if all the pieces were on the same side of course.

Frankly, Elias didn’t know.

He wouldn’t know until he got to speak to Alicia Morel. “Let’s get this over with.”

“Damn right!”
Ronald scowled, stuffing his hands in his pockets as the duo walked their way to where some of Ron’s thug-like ‘friends’ managed to spot 'Alice'. “All this effort for little girl who doesn’t know how good she’s got it! Tsk. None of the leaders would even turn their heads if rookies like us disappeared.”

Elias gave the NP a pat on the back. “Make as much money as she does before you start complaining, Ron.”

“I plan to! When I become king all cash will come flowing in by the buckets!”
Ronald narrowed his eyes. "You’re on my side, aren’t you Yu—Anamnesis?”

“Of course,”
Elias answered serenely. “So long as you are on my side, I will be on yours.”

He’d gotten an idea of how Markus Weiss learned of his potential. It had been 9 days since their little meeting at Tiger HQ, after all. He’d looked into it—Ronald’s memoires. And, for now, he was fine with leaving things the way they are. It was finally getting interesting after all. King Cold seemed to be setting up for some sort of big gamble. As for whether or not his gamble succeeded or not…Elias couldn’t wait find out. Like watching good movie, Elias liked seeing thing unfold rather than participating himself.

Sometimes.

He also enjoyed piecing together random memories, like playing a puzzle game, and using such information to hunt down his target. Sure beat going to some charity party, at least. Elias ignored his invitation. He’d had his fill of parties since the Tiger one. His mother probably wouldn’t though. Elias pretended to like wasting money. His mother did like wasting money. A sweet, sheltered lady born into high society who probably wouldn’t make it very far in the real world if she were to lose everything. In many ways, she reminded him of Alice…minus the gang, lies, and dead mother bit.

It was one of the reasons he kept his parents in the dark about his life. It made things easier. Well, his mother at least. His father…wasn’t quite so innocent. But then, neither was he.

"Also, you'll scare her away scowling like that~" Elias grinned at the friend, of a friend, of a cousin who'd invited him into the Albino Tiger gang. "We're her friends, remember? Try smiling when you see her."

He was met with an annoyed glare. "What's that for?"

"A gift of course. Isn't that what you normally bring when visiting a friend?"

When Elias and Ronald arrived to the Stacy's clothing store entrance, just a glance around showed no sign of Alice. That was not to say the chance of her being in there was zero; the clothing store was big and especially filled with people.

Perhaps it was worth a closer look inside?

"Oh, you're gorgeous, Genevieve! Now do the pose in that music video that everyone fawned over!"
HyHfGVLCOzwYAAAAAElFTkSuQmCC.png

Right at the store entrance, a slim woman of seamless black hair stood poised before a team of photographers, each having the Acacia company logo on their equipment.

Amid striking a pose, it seemed as though her gaze landed on Elias and his companion. If either of them looked back, she'd simply smile and wave once the photographers finished their current shoots.

Some passersby paused to gawk and take pictures from afar with their own phones. If passersby's side conversations were any true, the fashion model had apparently arrived earlier today for some photo shoots—even before opening time.

<<< Remember

The last time Alice was in Central was with her mother. They were in a hurry home, that much she remembered, and they did not get a chance to see anything that was in the District. And as it were not too long ago, nowhere outside of the Western District even lingered on her mind.

But that was nine days ago. Mr. Hat "earned himself a vacation," and she was allowed to come along, too! Hopping excitedly like a child amid a festival, it didn't take much convincing from Janay to have her come with. Her caretaker did not disappoint, either. Alice did not recognize the substantial lack of presence of the Tigers, nor the worried look that occasionally took Mr. Hat's face.

Central looked nothing like she thought it would—naturally, considering she only had her imagination fueled by storybooks and media to fill in the blanks of what she remembered the district to be. Even though the expansive mall was reminiscent of some of the centers at home, the fact they were in Central alone gave it a different air. Not to mention the prices were a lot cheaper than in the West...

I should write that down, she thought, only to realize she left her diary in the compartment where she and Janay slept for the past days. Yes, it was a far cry from the standard living space she was used to back home; but that made it all the more exciting to Alice!

The girl took one of the clothes from the rack, staring peculiarly at its... design choice. She'd never seen such a plain-looking shirt with some character plastered on the front. Was this meant to be stylish? Alice briefly looked up as the sound of a nearby clothing rack's rattle pierced the air—was it coming closer to her—?

“Wha- WAA, FUCK. SORRY.”

Alice toppled over amid the crash, using her arms to take the brunt of her fall with an "Eek!" to brace herself. She didn't even know what happened when a boy suddenly appeared to her with concerning words. She sat on her behind. "People... following me...?" Instinctively, she scanned around the area, gazing every passerby there was.

Two people scurried behind cover. Alice did not see them.

However, this abrupt knowledge still put the girl in a notably more distressed state, for now only hugging herself as her expression turned frightened. While one hand hugged herself, the other went to her pocket, keeping the warm phone in her grasp. Just in case. "I'm sorry... who are you? What do you mean I was being followed?"

HAPPILY EVER AFTER
Though she was dressed differently, the sharp-eyed woman walked as decisively as ever.

It had been over a week, but the weight of past events were not far from Charmy’s thoughts. Those failings caused this. If things had been handled more delicately—no, more thoroughly—then this might have all been avoided. The guilt. The disappointment. The frustration. It all bubbled up across her nape. She was going about this search entirely wide-eyed, so this unrest quickly manifested itself through her potential.

A passing couple spilling their refreshments, the electronics in another’s phone hissing and sparking, items from a nearby booth falling off their hooks—little specks of chaos lost in the bustling environment.

She didn’t pay them any mind. This was no time to be coy. If it took burning this entire place to the ground, she was ready to do so. The storm cast by her gaze was evidence of that, but it would never be that simple. She was ever-reminded of the blade she carried on her person. She didn’t hold any animosity towards Janay. Their interactions were nothing noteworthy, but Alice would prattle on about them often enough.

Charmy lingered on the memories, and set her hand against one of the many stores’ entryways.

She wouldn’t humor her more obtuse thoughts. Now wasn’t the time. Instead, she should be thinking how to convince Janay to go back on all this. It wasn’t too late, not really. This sort of offense only mattered in principle. To the Tigers, Alice herself was valuable but only while she was an asset. The real issue here wasn’t the act itself, but the repercussions it could have. You can’t betray the Tigers and get away with it. That was the sole message that mustn’t be allowed to escape this situation.

Hsk.

A small crack formed along one of the nearby glass panes. Charmy eyed it from her peripheral. Her expression shifted and she took it as a cue to proceed into the expanse of the department. She had picked out a place that didn’t gather as much of a crowd. Not because she was trying to be on top of things, but simply because she wanted to check the outskirts off first.

She may have also just wanted to be alone.

A Brief Meditation
Hadrien's footsteps sounded heavier than usual and he couldn't hide his tired state no matter how hard he tried. He took a drag from his cigarette, letting the smoke out into the open air of the alley. He rubbed his bruised knuckles as he let the cigarette dangle on his lips. A few hours before, he had to pay someone a "visit" and they put up much more of a fight than he anticipated. They even managed to give the slender figure a cut on his lip. If Hadrien didn't have to go collect their debts, he wouldn't be as sore as he was now. “Should have burned that bastard's house down.” Hadrien said to himself, letting out another swath of smoke, shouldering past people in his way.

To Hadrien's dismay, he had to briefly walk through the pleasure district to get where he was going, and it was probably his least favorite place. His pace noticeably quickened, making long strides to get out of that place. He usually only went there if he had to, and he didn't feel like taking a twenty-minute detour. He tried to keep his eyes from wandering, as many interesting characters existed in this sector. Most people moved out of his way anyways, as he didn't seem like the most approachable person.

Once he finally made it through, he let out a sigh of relief. His destination was a tea shop, one that was owned by an Azure Dragon. He had only briefly met Kairong, but he didn't shy away from supporting other dragons. His body was aching more than it usually did and he was hoping that a cup of tea would alleviate some of it. Upon seeing the sign, he stopped in front of the establishment, flicking his cigarette onto the ground to crush it under his foot. Hadrien never shied away from smoking inside, but he didn't want to be rude. “Hope it's as good as they say.” Hadrien mumbled to himself, swiftly opening the door before proceeding inside the tea shop.

THE RECRUIT
Boltius was proud of his meatball-and-spinach baked ziti casserole, but something about the chaotic process of making it left him dissatisfied. He’d stuck around the gym longer than intended, made it home with 45-minutes to spare, and threw everything together in as organized of a hurry as he could.

As the dish baked, Boltius cleaned his mess and dressed himself without a shower; though, he did what he could to mask the smell of lingering sweat.

Today, he wore a headband instead of hat, his usual chains and jewelry, a red-and-white bomber jacket over a black tanktop shredded at the hems, a pair of loosely worn red jean-shorts—the closest thing to jean pants he’ll ever allow—that revealed his cheetah-print underwear, and a pair of all-black hightop shoes.

All in all, the choice of attire as he held his head high with a massive casserole dish in his hands made for a rather amusing contrast. But who said gangsters can’t cook? Boltius knew he wouldn’t be the only one presenting a fine cuisine at this partly-routine Sunday-potluck.

“So Bolt.. you're just wearing that, huh?” asked Hector from beside.

Boltius tore his eyes away from his foil-wrapped dish, looked at the Ace with a high arch in his brow, and asked, “What d’you mean?” As he walked, he allowed his hands to heat the casserole in gentle waves so as to keep it warm and ensure that it was thoroughly cooked.

At the question, Hector hooked and lifted one of Bolt’s chains with a finger, "It's not what I would've gone for, but… It's your choice after all. Just hope you won't be the odd one out.”

Hearing this, Boltius scoffed a laugh. “‘Course it’s not. You ain’t got an eye for good fashion like me, dawg. That’s why you’re wearin’ that.” Orange eyes scanned the Ace’s fit with disapproving judgment, but anyone could tell that it was poking play on Bolt’s part. “‘Sides, everyone who knows me knows me. Get it? Why the fuck would I dress differently all of the sudden just to eat some food? Fuck a dresscode, bro. If there ain’t a genuine reason to dress a certain way, like shorts in the gym for mobility, then I’mma just do me, dawg.”

Boltius leaned forward, looking past Hector at Darren, the former Ace. “Tell me I’m right, Dare,” he insisted, the seriousness of his expression belying his joking intentions as they passed up the hunched-figure of a stranger on the sideline minding their own business.

“At this rate, my man just looks like he’s tryna impress somebody.” A toothy grin split across Bolt’s face then as he leered mischievously at Hector, “Whaddya say, bro, who’s the lucky guy or gal?”

Scene - Dragons Arc 2 | Scene 3: Error 404
Location - Central District
Mentions/Interactions - Isaiah Spade ( Lucem Lucem ), Ruriko Ikeda ( Beann Beann ),

<<< Remember

Kanna looked down at her phone.

On the screen was her conversation with Ruri, who replied to her message.

Read at 2:03PM....

The events of what happened that night and on the bridge were still fresh in her mind, despite how long ago it was. Since then, Kanna never spoke to Ruri. A couple times while she was at the Dragon HQ, she spotted Ruri portaling away immediately. Gossip among other members of the Dragons didn't escape her either.

She didn't show it, but Kanna was...regretful, over what happened between them. Kanna had initially reasoned with herself that the argument was caused by stress, but now that she had time to think about it more...Kanna didn't have a proper answer. The words that Ruri said still repeated in her head.

"Yeah?? Well, maybe that’s the fucking problem!"

Kanna continued to stare at her phone as her thoughts trailed, unsure on how to reply to Ruri's message. Her fingers hovered over the on-screen keyboard before she began writing her response.

"I'd like to talk in person. If you change your mind, I'll be waiting at our usual dojo later this evening."

Send. Whether or not Ruri replied, Kanna had to ignore it for now, as she had to refocus on the upcoming task. As she locked her phone, she caught a glimpse of her reflection in the black screen. Looking back at Kanna was a girl with straight white hair, silver eyes, and a much softer expression.

"I dont think I'll ever get used to your illusions, Isaiah."

Kanna looked away from her phone, her eyes falling on the Ace of the Dragons beside her. The two had worked together multiple times in the past, even when he wasnt the Ace. Whether it was working on the same assignment together or calling in a favor from one or the other, Kanna regarded him as a good friend and ally. Yo made a good choice. His potential was also very handy, especially in Kanna's case.

Ever since the data leak, Kanna had to avoid public eye. She rarely left her apartment. If she had to travel, she either wore different clothing and covered her face with a hood or used her potential to travel among the rooftops of buildings . Today was no exception, but with how much more crowded Central was compared to the East, simply covering herself wouldnt suffice. So, with Isaiah's assistance, her appearance was visually altered. To make it more believable, the clothes that Kanna wore were real. Her hair was real, in that she had it lowered instead of tied up in her usual ponytail. All Isaiah had to do was alter her facial features. The appearance Kanna chose wasn't random either. To top off her alternate identity, she took on the name 'Avery Fletcher', complete with a fake ID created by Kasumi.

Kanna's phone buzzed again. She glanced down, initially thinking that Ruri had replied. But instead, it was Meirin, asking that she be informed should Kanna and Isaiah find the missing worker from Paradise Forever. Swallowtail was the name, if she recalled. According to Kasumi, she matched the description of the girl that Kanna fought on the bridge. Either they were originally a volunteer worker who defected, or an involuntary one who managed to escape the system. Whatever the case may be, she was sure to return Swallowtail to the Dragons. The other two, she wasn't sure yet.

She wrote up a reply for Meirin.

"Will do."

Kanna put her phone away, her attention returning back to Isaiah.

"Ready to go?"

While scarce, the Dragons had received a handful of reports from their informants within Central, claiming that the trio were spotted throughout the district. Even if it was just a brief sighting, it at least confirmed that they were here. Now it was just a matter of closing the gap between them.

"One of our insiders lives further up the block. They should be home. We can check in with them and see if anything new came up, then go from there. But, I'm also open to ideas."

The South District of New Oasis.

Sabrina couldn’t say she’d ever really traveled there very often given that she lived in the North and didn’t really have the funds to go sight-seeing all that often. The bridge from Central to the South had been totaled by the Dragon King as well, which meant she had to take the long way around. From the bridge near the Old Amusement Park, to Central, through Highreach, and past Copacabana where some of the hurricane damaged areas actually made the North look kind of pretty, Sabrina drove her motorbike—having to take several stops along the way—until finally, finally, she’d reached Cloudwalk stadium where Passeri Park’s concert was supposedly held.

Swerving to a stop in one of the stadium’s parking lots, Sabrina pulled her helmet off and sighed. Yumin was an ass. Ticket prices may be free but gas prices weren’t. She didn’t know why she even bothered listening to his advice. He’d made it sound so easy. Show up, listen to music, and leave if she didn’t like it. Someone like him probably never even considered that time wasted like this was time that could’ve been spent working. Or relaxing at home. Valarie’s home. She'd almost venture to say spending time to get to know her 'fellow' gang members better was a more productive use of her weekend than showing up at a random fundraising concert in the South just to prove a point to herself.

Almost.

Reaching into the pocket of her jacket, Sabrina pulled out a pack of her favorite brand of cigarettes. She needed a quick fix before venturing into the stadium where crowds and crowds of Passeri fans were likely gathered. Sabrina had never been afraid of crowds. She’d played music in front of people. Lots of people. She wasn’t shy. However, she liked to recharge alone. Just one glance at the stadium from afar showed her more people than she—the Northern Stones—had ever gathered in one sitting anyway. But of course, she had already known that. There were those that succeeded and those that failed.

She was one of the failures.

Taking a final drag of her cigarette, Sabrina dropped the remainder on the ground and crushed it under her boot before securing her motorcycle, grabbing her bag, and making her way into the sort of scene she hadn’t been in since she left the music industry exactly 1 year ago. Music blared. Few recognized her. Most didn’t. They were here for Park, after all. However, any that tried to approach her was met with glare. Any that tried to touch her, or perhaps even accidentally jostled her, found out exactly why Valerie called her Stingray. Light volts not strong enough to kill, or even burn, but enough warn people away emanated with any form of physical contact to the short-haired girl. Finding her way to the back of the stadium, as far back as she could while still keeping the stage in sight, Sabrina leaned back, her arms folded as she waited with an expressionless face.

Thankfully for Charmy, the department she walked into was very empty. The place she'd found herself in was a small thrift store, way out of view from the main stream of people in the mall.

As Charmy walked in, a particularly keen ear would catch the tail of end of a conversation: a man's tired voice muttering "... won't find her." Immediately after, the automatic doorbell chimed.

The source of the voice—the employee manning the counter whose name tag read 'Claire'—had just moved his phone from his ear to his pocket. He greeted Charmy with a robotic smile. "Welcome in," he monotonously spoke. "A percentage of our proceeds will head towards relief funds for the East and South Districts. Please, have a look around."

A DANGEROUS GAME
The day had finally come. He and the others had been preparing for this mission for over a week, but Ezra still felt like it wasn't enough. Ever since Markus forced him to take part in this heist, he'd been afflicted with a bad case of the jitters. Now that he was actually here in the South, minutes away from the big moment, he was feeling even worse. They were about to break into the home of the King and Jack of the Scarlet Phoenixes, and there was no telling how many more HPs were waiting inside. In a situation like this, it was natural to feel a little on edge.

Trying not to think about what would happen if the group screwed up, Ezra focused on the image captured by his phone's camera. He was staring at his own reflection, but he struggled to recognize himself, making him feel a little better about his disguise. Not having much faith in the boilersuit's ability to keep his identity hidden, he made a few of his own additions. He brought along a face mask and a pair of tinted goggles, wanting to hide as much of his face as possible. It wasn't unusual for workers to have these accessories on hand, so he didn't think it made him look very suspicious.

In addition to covering up his face, Ezra dyed his hair for the occasion. His dark brown bangs were nowhere to be seen, now swept back and colored pitch black. He wished he could've done more to make himself unrecognizable, but this was his limit. Although, it's not like it was a terrible disguise. The white-haired Tiger he met the other day sported a similar look, and it seemed like it was working well for him. Then again, that guy wasn't trying to rob the most powerful people in the South.

As he looked himself over, Ezra noticed that there was an unread message on his phone. Surprisingly, the person texting him was someone other than one of his relatives. It was Dante, a fellow member of the Albino Tigers. He'd only known the Veteran for a few weeks, so he still wasn't sure what to make of him. However, Dante seemed like a nice enough person, even warning him about the effects of Alice's Potential before the incident at the casino.

Upon reading Dante's message, Ezra was reminded of Alice's current situation. Nobody had seen her or Janay since last week, leading some to believe that the caretaker had run away with the young girl. He was with her on the night she disappeared, but didn't learn about the apparent abduction until he returned to the casino after his meeting with Markus. Everything happened after he escaped with Titus, so he was completely in the dark.

He didn't know Alice very well, but he felt that they were similar in some ways. Neither of them seemed suited for the life of a criminal, but the young woman looked even more out of place among the hardboiled gangsters. Despite her age, she acted like an innocent child who was oblivious to everything around her. He didn't know how she got involved with the Tigers, but he was sure that she didn't belong with them.

"Will do. You stay safe too." He'd pass along anything he learned about Alice, but he doubted he'd hear anything useful while breaking and entering. Hopefully. Dante and the other Tigers would get her home safely. If something bad happened to her, he would've felt even worse about abandoning everyone at the casino.

Pocketing his phone, Ezra turned to Isobel. It seemed like everyone was in position, so all they needed was the go-ahead from their leader. He still didn't feel very optimistic, but fretting over everything wasn't going to help their odds of success. He just had to listen to the Jack's orders and play his part. With any luck, that would be enough for him to make it out of this in one piece.

When Isobel finally gave the signal, Ezra nodded and made his way to the spot that had been pointed out. Stopping in front of a power box, he opened the metal frame and looked over the wires that powered the building's security system. Taking a deep breath and hoping he didn't accidentally electrocute himself, he reached inside with a gloved hand. As soon as his fingers made contact with the multicolored cables and switches, he channeled his Potential, rewinding the system back to its deactivated state.

After checking to make sure that the lights inside were still on, he turned to Isobel and gave her a thumbs-up. Things were going smoothly so far, but next came the hard part. They still had to actually go inside the Phoenix nest and grab the claw without getting caught.

CHARITY FROM THE UPPER CITY

<<< Remember

Ah, New Oasis. The sights, the sounds, the people! Akira couldn’t be happier to finally be back in his old stomping grounds, and he was showing it through his wide, twinkling smile. His little ‘vacation’ (which he’d decided not to tell anybody about) had perhaps been a tad too long, and the moment he had set foot back in the city, he automatically felt relaxed. After all, how couldn’t you be in high spirits when you were in such a mesmerizing concrete jungle, brimming with all sorts of information that was just waiting to be taken by the wrong hands?

I couldn’t imagine anywhere I would less like to be…

Oh. Right.

Brick-red eyes followed the sound of the voice until they landed on Lucy. He’d spent more than enough time with the woman to know that she was bored out of her mind as she sat on the balcony, watching her mother sing down below on the large stage. He wished she would cheer up. This was quite the exciting event, after all! So many huge names piled up in one building was like an all-you-can eat candy shop for Akira, and he wished she could see things through his eyes and put a smile on her face. Still, he chose not to speak. Oh well.

There was one other person on the balcony with them, and – much to Akira’s delight– he seemed to be enjoying the ball more than his mother. He couldn’t tell if Adam had inherited his unwavering amusement, or if it was just regular childlike elation. Either way, he was glad that he wasn’t the only one who’d been enjoying himself.

He watched as Lucy lifted their son up so that he could get a better view of his grandmother’s performance. Sometimes, things like this still felt surreal to him– he’d never expected a blackmailing, scandal-hungry criminal like himself to be able to find a partner he’d be so interested in– let alone have a child with her. When the three of them were together, he realized that he actually felt somewhat… happy with the world.

Maybe it was because he’d never really had the chance to experience the warmth that was family. Or, did he love them?

Before he could fall into an ocean of deep thought, Lucy caught his attention with a scheming grin and a tricky suggestion– that he sing for their son. Immediately, his soft smile shifted into his more natural, foxlike one, and he leaned over to place a hand on Adam’s head and softly ruffle his hair.

Don’t be silly, Angel. Daddy couldn’t sing if his life depended on it! Mommy, on the other hand…

He moved his hand from Adam’s head onto Lucy’s shoulder, gently caressing it and making sure not to poke her with one of the various needles he’d hidden within his slim-fitting suit. Entangling her golden locks between his fingers with a warm smile on his face, he spoke again.

You’re going to scold me for this, but I really do appreciate you taking me here, Lucy. I hope I can have some fun without making a mess of the whole event.

He scanned the area below them, already clocking some interesting targets he’d have to have a word with later.

Try to cheer up, though! You look great today, you should compliment that with a smile, not that bored little look of yours.

"Hmm....who to pick....who to pick?"

Tapping his jaw line as he walked, Dimitri looked for someone to catch his eye. He wasn't going to be here long, so he might as well go for the most interesting rather than just anyone. He looked up to the top, over the crowds, and declined a few coming his way. It really was funny how easy it was to learn things about people at events like these. Hand them a glass of champagne and you hear about their latest business venture, wink and you learn their marital status. If things didn't pick up soon, he feared his legs might carry himself out in boredom. At least then he could see Lyric and Athena faster. Laughing at his own predicament, Dimitri weaved around a caterer with way to many wine glasses on their tray, taking one off the top as he went.

A woman entered his space with their hand outstretched, and from the alcohol on their breath they were clearly feeling bold and likely to cause a scene if he turned the dance down. Dimitri gave them a fake smile and spun them once; pushing them into the arms of a confused looking bachelor before either knew what was going on. "You guys look great together! you two should dance. Now, excuse me..."

He really should do that more often.

And so he did. Very briefly dancing with people before pushing them towards another dancer as he moved along, Dimitri spied two sights that struck his interest. One was a short, white haired man looking very uncomfortable in his situation; and the other was Helva. For some reason the man seemed familiar and aggravating, so he took note for later and instead slipped off to the left towards someone he knew first. "Ms. Linxal~" Dimitri mused, a knowing smile gracing his features as he made himself known to the much shorter ally. "You should have told me you were coming! I would have greeted you at the door. How are you doing this evening?" He greeted, giving a light bow before regarding his senior with a happy smile. Such things as a private conversation didn't exist in events like these; not here anyways. Instead, the rookie phoenix offered both the drink he grabbed earlier and his open hand, glancing behind him towards the large group of people dancing. "Where are my manners? You look absolutely stunning at present, Helva. Would you care to grace me with a dance? I've found dancing to be the best part of events like these, especially with good company."

Arriving at a store called Stacy’s within the mall, neither Elias nor Ronald saw any visible sign of Alice. There seemed to be a photoshoot going on outside though. How exciting.

“Dammit, she isn’t here! Friggin’ useless liars!”

Elias chuckled as Ronald cursed his phone. “Now, now, just because she isn’t here now, doesn’t mean she wasn’t here. We might find clues to her whereabouts if we look inside.”

He would know for certain, once he scanned the memories of the people inside, if they’ve seen Alice. Yet he couldn’t help but notice the Acacia company logo on the equipment of the photographers outside the store either. Glancing back, Elias saw the model smile and wave at them. Elias stopped in his tracks. “You go on ahead, Ron. I’ll hang out here for a bit.”

Ronald looked from Elias, to the model, then back to Elias. He rolled his eyes. “We’re here for work you know.”

“I know.”

He also knew that Janay Fox couldn’t hide Alice inside a mall forever. Hopefully either Charmy or Jack were having better luck. Ms Fortune with her Snake Eyes closed had better luck, but he knew she couldn't exactly do any looking with her eyes closed. Keeping his distance from her while she maintained her aura of misfortune was probably for the best. They had their phones, after all.

Elias patiently waited for the shoot to end, and for the photographers to start putting away their equipment, before approaching the dark-haired model with a charming smile and an offered hand. “You’re Genevieve from that music video, aren’t you? I’m Elijah—a big fan.”

If she shook his hand, then he’d use his potential to scan her memories for Alice, Janay, or Acacia. If she didn’t…he’d have other ways of obtaining the information he wanted. Regardless, a simple handshake gave him a lot of information about the person he interacted with. If they were friendly, or didn’t want to offend, they would shake. It was only polite. If were hostile, didn’t like him, didn’t care about offending, or knew about his potential, they wouldn’t. Either way, even if the person were related to Acacia Fox, even they keeping an eye on him and his companion, Elias had no intention of harming her unless he had to. She might not even know anything. The handshake was only assurance.

Elias lived in a world of lies, after all.

Only liars, and those who had pasts to hide, avoided his touch. Not that he blamed them, of course. He was one of them.

Damn he didn’t mean to nearly hurt her. He had to work more on his aim. Instead he offered her a hand to help her up.

“Uh- Jackson, Jackson Alessi. But some people call me Song. Whichever is fine for me.”

He took a moment to glance in the direction of the two who had clearly just ducked out of sight. He glared in the direction hoping that they would still see and at the least realize he was on to their games. He might not have known much about her stalkers but as long as their powers weren’t anything like Bash’s he could easily hold them… he’d rather avoid getting anyone else tangled up in the blowback though.

“Like, there’s two of them. Judging by your reaction they’re probably not anyone you know right? What’s the deal huh? You a rich kid or is it just some random ass pervs?”

He waited until she was back to a standing position before taking a step between the girl and the pursuers using his own body to block their line of sight as much as he could. This shit wasn't right, he’d beat up more than his fair share of creeps but usually unless the one they were preying on was a little more busty or like an actual child he didn’t see multiple people making a pass.

“Hey, why don’t we try and ditch ‘em. It’s a little too crowded here for me to start slugging.”

Yuudai stretched his neck side to side with an audible crack as he lit up a cigarette, standing under a shop awning. Being in the underbelly of Central, he didn’t really have to worry about the downpour above, but sometimes cracks from above did allow rain drops to drip down.

A rapping on the glass behind him grabbed his attention.

Huh?” Looking over his shoulder, something in his eyes or how he moved startled the shopkeeper who was about to point at a “No Loitering” sign. The person behind the glass blanched and quickly waved his hands and backed off.

With a grumble, he leaned back against the very same glass the shopkeeper tried to shoo him from as he waited for Odessa.

A whistle reached his ears– a tune he recognized. Good, she was still nearby.

He took a hit from his cigarette, watching as passersby quickly scuffled past him, hushed whispers to follow.

Yuudai had on his wolf ears, so whatever they said didn’t escape him.

He would glare daggers purely to see their reactions. It was fun entertainment.

Unaware Odessa was reapproaching now, he was glaring daggers at someone that didn’t taken kindly to their eyes meeting.

You got a problem, Man?!” The man sauntered over, shaking loose the woman he had on his arm.

The woman seemed to be weary as she stayed on their side of the street, “N-No, dear! That looks like B–

Hey! I’m talking to y–

Yuudai flicked his cigarette to the ground and pushed off the glass, grabbing the man’s throat. “Hm?

The man struggled against Yuudai’s grip, clawing at the massive paw around his throat, “B-b-

A scent on the wind grabbed Yuudai’s attention. Without turning to look at her, he spoke up. “What do you think Dreamer? He seem like he could be a good guinea pig?” He directed his voice at the man struggling in his paw– “Want a potential, hm?

She watched Akira ruffle Adam’s hair, feeling more content with the Gala than she had been since they arrived. It was her favorite sight to see the pair together, especially when it came to comparing the little quirks she could already see reflecting in their son.

“Don’t be silly, Angel. Daddy couldn’t sing if his life depended on it! Mommy, on the other hand…”

And then there came the quirks that were clearly hers, like the little pout of being denied singing despite his clearly leaning into the ruffling of his hair. Even so aside from a little squirming he didn’t make a fuss. How cute. She blew lightly on Adam’s hair pushing it out of his face and making him go back to giggling and looking around at the pretty architecture.

“You’re going to scold me for this, but I really do appreciate you taking me here, Lucy. I hope I can have some fun without making a mess of the whole event.”

“I would hope so, don’t exactly have convenient clean-up equipment today. Besides I wouldn't be able to stand it without you.”

Of course, she was lying through her teeth about being unarmed and Akira would certainly know it. As much as she believed in Akira’s ability to just whisk them away from the danger she wouldn’t leave home without a few daggers minimum when she had Adam to protect. Her mother may have hated it but even she knew better than to fight logic.

“Try to cheer up, though! You look great today, you should complement that with a smile, not that bored little look of yours.”

“Hmm should I, well luckily my two favorites are here to help cheer me up. Besides I’m sure there will always be something worth the time. This crowd does love to gossip. The rich always have their fingers in the gangs one way or another anyhow.”

She started to hum low to the sound of the music Deux Arabesques didn’t have lyrics to sing to but she could still entertain the notion of singing for them.

“Daddy Dance?”

-8:29 AM-

The morning light seeped through the windows of the studio apartment, gently bathing the place with the faintest yellow tint, it was a bit of a mess at the moment, with Blu-Ray and video game cases scattered around, used clothing all over the place, and the sink waiting to be released from the weight of a pot and a couple plates. The peaceful silence was suddenly broken, however, by the loud ringing of an alarm clock on the nighstand beside the bed. By the third ringing, a fist raised from the edge of the bed and went down with tremendous force, yet stopping just one inch from reaching the innocent tool doing its job, one finger pressing the top button instead.

Charlie quickly rose from his bed and proceeded to start his morning routine, first with a quick brushing of his teeth and a shower that helped him fully wake up. After that was breakfast, some scrambled eggs and bacon, a dish so simple not even he could mess it up. Once that was over he proceeded to clean the place just enough to call it "decent", normally he'd procrastinate on the cleaning as much as he could, specially considering that yesterday he spent a little over 12 hours in a security gig, guarding a certain warehouse which contents were a mystery to him, "no questions asked" was the standard in the business, after all, and the pay was good anyways. However, today was different, as the Queen Reika herself offered the Charlie to join her in spending the day shopping on Central! How could Charlie possibly refuse such a generous offer? This could be the chance for him to actually get to know her, and maybe even get rid of that initial impression he had of her being scary. With plenty of time before having to meet at the assigned hour, Charlie decided to boot up his Switch and collect a few more moons. Some more time had passed, he looked at the clock on the wall, 11:30AM... it was probably better to head out soon, better arriving early than late! After picking his fanciest-looking jacket, some nice kakhi cargo pants and black sneakers as well as deciding to not style his hair in any way today, Charlie left his apartment, waving at the landlady as he jogged to the bus station.

Normally the journey to Central from his home was pretty short, taking barely over 30 minutes, but because of the...Incident from last week, it meant that he was forced to take first a bus to west district and then one to central, not that he minded too much, since as much as he tried, he could not help feeling a small amount of nostalgia whenever he visited West. After getting on the second bus, he noticed a couple notifications on his phone, it was from his buddies Jesper and Ten, the three had quickly become great friends after the convention.

Oh damn, you got busy on a sunday? thats not how it works Ten-Ten, lmao (jk)

I actually finished season 2 the other day, that part when (Spoilers, Ten-Ten, dont read lol) Bargus sacrifices himself on the airship, I just could't stop weeping <sobbing emoji>

The rest of the travel passed by basically on auto-pilot between fiddling with his phone and just staring at the scenery. Now in front of the giant mall of upper central, Charlie waited for the other two to arrive, he was after all early by a few minutes. Shortly after he saw the Queen and the Veteran Hitoshi arrive on that luxurious red car, truth is that Reika had offered to take him on her ride as well, but Charlie insisted that he had to go by himself (by inventing some sort of minor excuse), he couldn't possibly take even more advantage of her vast generosity.

"Hi Hitoshi-Aniki! And hello Que- I mean Suc- I mean Reika! Well I don't really have anything concrete to buy in mind, so perhaps Aniki has an idea?"
