So What’s This Story About?
The year is x780. Guild life goes on as it has for the past years. Members carry out their missions with excitement or boredom depending on the mission - as they usually would. Tension between Fairy Tail and Raven Tail seems to have come to a momentary calm in which the two guilds have simply agreed to avoid one another.

Current eyes watch three primary missions. Royce Obertuck - an S-Class criminal and former Raven Tail guildmaster - is being transferred to a higher security prison after multiple escape attempts; this transfer is one giant opportunity though. The question remains… who is lurking in the shadows to take advantage of it? Liam Portian - a scientist working in magic expansion - seeks to study a meteor that recently crashed. People have been disappearing near it, though. Can mages help him get his hands on it? More importantly, what else will they discover? Last, but not least, a demon book has been stolen. That’s never a good thing. Who runs with Book of Vongraw? What might they unleash and who might also seek these treasures?

These fates all draw nearer.

Something is coming, though. Can the world really expect to stay this calm when a solar eclipse - the first in centuries - hangs overhead? One thing is for sure: villains are not planning on allowing this calm to last.

Most importantly, will Fairy Tail be strong enough to face what’s coming? And will the other guilds be ready to aid them? Can the other guilds even afford not to?

Fates are eclipsing. The moon could very well darken them forever.

Beyond Crocus… But Close Enough
Just outside of Crocus, there is another town that is almost as big and that many people simply prefer to think of as an extension of the capital itself because the line between them is negligible. Despite how it is seen, though, the town prefers to go by it’s own name and it is a town called Mahlan. The people in Mahlan are proud just like the people in Crocus. They tend to pay a lot of attention to what’s going on all throughout the country of Fiore and when one area succeeds at something, the whole of Mahlan along with the whole of Crocus have reasons to celebrate. Mahlan was part of the capital without having any official ties to it.

Because of the way the two cities were bound, though, even without anything formal, it still gave the entire country a reason to fear when threats rose up in Mahlan. Anything that threatened the country there could very easily extend to the capital and thus, when the authorities would normally be allowed to handle something, Mahlan was different in the same way that Crocus was. Mages were involved more quickly, more readily.

Like now, for example.

Something was off in Mahlan and Detective Coones was the lead investigator so far on the situation. So far, he had minimal information and it wasn’t likely to be helpful at all. The only thing he could sincerely report was that things were vanishing during the day just as much as they were in the evening and in the dead of night. There was no consistency to when things were disappearing and there was no video footage either. Things just vanished.

Waiting in his office, he knew that a team of mages would be coming to meet him soon and he wasn’t looking forward to the dismal report he would be passing on to them. There was one positive, at least. With a new exhibit opening soon at the local museum, there was one spot they could watch with fairly safe certainty that something would happen. And that was coming in two days…

The mages would know where to meet him. In the heart of the city, there was a single government building that was all formal and official. The walls of the building were perfectly white and two columns lined the entrance. Their briefing information had included directions to his office as well, and the door was open.

Victoria Angelbright
Victoria woke up in her hotel room in Crocus. The reason she was in Fiore's capital was to join in one of her family's concert shows. The Angelbrights were on a new concert tour and Victoria had decided to join them due to being between job, it was just a coincidence that her free time lined up with the Crocus show. The concert occurred last night. Now that it was the next morning, she would normally be getting ready to return to the Blue Pegasus Guild, but something was keeping her in the Crocus area.

While she had been signing autographs after the concert, multiple citizens from the neighboring town of Mahlan informed her about how items had been disappearing, supposedly stolen, and begged her to help as a Blue Pegasus wizard. Victoria couldn't say no to them.

Now sitting on her hotel bed, Victoria grabbed the communication lacrima she borrowed from the guild so that she could be contacted while she was away. She gave her Guildmaster a call and mentioned what she learned about the situation in Mahlan. "Are there any jobs on the job board concerning what's going on in Mahlan?" she asked. It turned out there was one. Victoria grabbed a piece of paper and a pen provided on the desk by the hotel and began to write down the details.

"I'm going to help out with the Mahlan job, Master. I'll return home afterward," she explained before saying goodbye and hanging up.

Victoria changed into her combat outfit consisting of an orange fuzzy hat, an orange jacket long enough to also count as a miniskirt, black leggings, white gloves, and white shoes with small heels. She wasn't sure if the job required fighting a culprit, but if she dressed for combat she wouldn't have to spend a long time contemplating what to wear. After that she brushed her long locks of blond hair, which took her about thirty minutes, and spend another twenty minutes contemplating makeup before deciding to just wear pink lipstick.

Now feeling confident in how fashionable she was, Victoria put on a pair of sunglasses as she walked out of her room with her suitcase. After checking out of the hotel, she hired a magic car driver to take her to the government building in Mahlan.

She hummed some of the songs from last night's concert during the ride and thanked the driver once they reached her destination. After paying the man, she wheeled her suitcase with her as she walked inside the government building and located Detective Coones. If there were other mages already in the room, she didn't notice. Her focus was entirely on the man who would be explaining her job.

"Detective Coones, I presume," she said in a business-like tone as she lowered the shades that had been on her face. "I'm Victoria Angelbright from Blue Pegasus. Unless my Guildmaster contacted you, you probably weren't expecting me. Some citizens from here told me about the disappearing items after my family's concert last night; I'd like to help out," she explained, even though there was a good chance the detective already knew who she was through her pop-star activities and/or appearances in Sorcerer's Weekly.

Duncan had been away from Lamia Scale for two days, per usual what he would normally call an early adventure. It had been quite a while since he had been on a guild affiliated assignment, and lately it had became irritating for him to have nothing to do while everyone else was away. However today it would seem his luck had changed. While traveling outside the city of Crocus, Duncan noticed an odd piece of paper flapping about in the wind, seemingly stuck under some sort of weird object.

Normally, Duncan wouldn't take a second glance, assuming it to be some sort of debris left behind or the result of kids tampering with silly things. However, anything caught his attention at this point, the lack of excitement practically draining to his pride. Dropping his duffel bag, Duncan found himself in a squatting position, tilting his head to the right as he reached out with his left hand, pulling the paper out from under the rock.

Analyzing the sheet for a mere second, Duncan began reading bits of information from the paper out to himself. 'Mahlan Job....stolen items....mages needed...Hmph.' Standing back up with a groan, Duncan snagged his bag up off the ground with his right hand, walking forward once again. "Guess I won't be bored after all...I wonder if they have food.." Honestly, Lucas could really go for a good meal at that moment.

Luckily enough, he had just a snack left in his bag, capable of lasting him the remainder of this trek of his. Aside from that, he still had some sort of edible item he received from a merchant while he was in another town. The explanation for his travel? Hopes of discovering something else about where he came from. Although regardless of how hard he tried, he could never really find anything.

Turning his gaze to the sky, Duncan recalled the last conversation he had with the headmaster when he informed them of his miniature expedition. He had promised to return safely and swiftly, and he was promised food when he got back. With a sly grin, Duncan continued onward while talking to himself, hoping to rest in Crocus, and then proceed onward to Mahlan after grabbing something to eat. "Just a little more time before I get some food."

Lowell ThriceIt seemed that the guild hall was emptying out slowly but surely. Malakai, Sylvia and Viridian had left on a mission to escort a high class prisoner and Lowell was glad that he wasn’t being pulled along with them because he imagined that would’ve been annoying. The blonde boy was someone who tended to prefer the simpler missions anyway and that one seemed like it would be anything but simple. Then Palila had vanished on some mission involving a book. Lowell hadn’t really gotten to look too hard at the request before she’d taken it which meant there probably weren’t any spots left there. If there were, Lowell might have considered heading in that direction. He and Palila shared a preference for non-magic weapons and it was something Lowell was comfortable recognizing as a commonality.

In the end, though, the guild hall was rather quiet and that left Lowell to take a drink from behind the counter and just start sipping away. It wasn’t a terrible thing to stay behind, was it? He didn’t think so. And it was never too early in the morning for drinking for him, either.

However, before he could get too lost in intoxication, Lowell watched as the guildmaster walked in and handed him a piece of paper. A single word made the lightning dragon slayer roll his eyes and begrudgingly get to his feet. He wasn’t one to argue with his guildmaster, after all. That word had been, “Go.”

Well, Lowell could only hope it was a quick mission because he didn’t wind up packing anything. He had his knapsack - something he always had - and that had a spare change of clothes and some food supplies, but beyond that, all he had was the katana at his hip. While on his feet and heading towards town, Lowell finally looked over the mission he had been assigned and he realized it really didn’t look too terrible. All they had to do was figure out why things were vanishing. It was definitely simpler than escorting some high class prisoner, but he didn't’ know enough to compare it to whatever Palila was up to.

A thought struck him then, though. He wasn’t quite sure where Elizabeth had gone to. In fact, Lowell didn’t remember seeing her at all that morning. Then again, he had started drinking before the guild hall had quieted down. Young as he was, Lowell still had plenty intense senses to dull simply because of the type of mage he was; it wasn’t a life he’d chosen and he still tried to drown it out.

Looking over the paper again, he noticed that it was near Crocus as well. That was enough to make him smile. The capital wasn’t too far away and that meant Lowell could just walk and not be too late. It was so much better than having to suck it up and take the train. Trains weren’t good for his stomach. With some newfound curiosity for this seemingly simple mission, Lowell headed on his way and was soon weaving through the streets of Crocus, heading for Mahlan.

It really wasn’t too long after that he found himself at the steps of the building, heading to find this detective it described. His eyes glanced around, though, curious about who he would be working with. For Lowell, it was always the team that made or broke the mission for him.

Eli Tail
"The Singularity"

You would think that, being an S-Rank mage, Eli would be out on dangerous missions filled with adventure, drama, romance, and everything in between. Things that would make his life seem like one of his novels really. And you would be right, that was a large part of his life quite a bit of the time. But just the same Eli loved to connect with other normal everyday people, and thus, he regularly went on lower rank missions to stay grounded and strengthen relationships not only with the mages of his guild, but the mages of other guilds as well. He had promised his mentor, bless his soul, that he would do everything in his power to help the guild, and strengthening their image to others as kind and noble souls, no matter how powerful they got, went a long way in increasing the revenue and respect the guild got. Plus, it's not like he minded doing these small jobs at all, they were quite fun really, reminding him of the days when he was young and still learning.

It's for this reason that Eli found himself staring at a building twice over to make sure that, yes, it was in fact the correct building, and that, yes, the detective was in fact here and, yes, he was to go inside to do a quick meet and greet before he was directed off to find the source of the missing items. Honestly, it was just a small blessing that he was told of this mission when he was passing by after finishing a mission, because he had been meaning to get some new books for himself and some other miscellaneous items for the guild, but had also been told he was needed for something else so he couldn't get a proper excuse to take a day or two to stop in town, thus when he was told he was being sent out here meant he'd be knocking out at least nine birds with a spit take. Even so, this mission seemed extremely simple, even for him, but the chance was there and he was bored so he went for it. With a soft sigh and kind smile still in place, Eli made his way inside.

Stepping into the room, he scanned his surroundings, nodded politely to whomever was already here, while giving the detective a look that said he would simply wait for everyone to arrive before asking for a proper briefing to lessen the man's workload, and then found a nice quiet corner in the room to sit, relax, and continue reading his current book. This happened to be a thrilling romantic mystery that he had spotted in a dusty old bookshop, and from what the kindly old owner of the shop had told him, there wasn't many copies of the obscure book, which Eli frankly found horrifying due to how well written it was. He rechecked his mental note to use his connections to get this masterpiece some rightfully deserved recognition.

Constanze von DisastreConstanze did not like arrangements made at last minutes. And as such, when she arrived finally at Mahlan, she was greeted by a personal chauffeur, who brought her directly to a local hotel, where a single suite room was already prepped for her arrival and a key at the ready for her to claim. She had no plans to take in the atmosphere of the grandiose room, with its lush, golden curtains, a window that overlooked a major part of the town, chandeliers and a bouquet of well cared for flowers in the center of the desk at the side to spruce up the interior for too long. However, she was also of the belief that if she was spending time away from her pristine home, she would at least want a place with excellent service and comfortable beds.

She deposited her suitcase in the closet, draped her heavy cloak over the coat hanger, made notes of Mahlan from her window on a piece of paper they provided at the desk, folded it neatly and tucked it into the small satchel she slung across her torso. She kept Salisbury close, and its home remained clipped to her belt across her hip. She surveyed her room once more, taking into consideration what she could have missed, then made her exit.

She declined the offer of a chauffeur from the concierge- she knew how to get to where she needed to be. Besides, it’ll be better to survey the grounds by foot, take into consideration the alley ways and the general architecture. By no means was Mahlan any different from their neighbour, she noted. If anything, it seemed to enjoy ties with Crocus without being too indebted to it. Posters of The Angelbrights’ performance in Crocus were pasted sporadically on the walls. She reasoned that advertising also reached across border between Mahlan and Crocus. Next to these posters, most of the time, were ones announcing a new exhibit opening at the local museum, possibly using the Angelbrights as the bait for readers. Nothing seemed to have changed the last time she made a trip down to Mahlan, which was about perhaps close to a decade ago. That was fine.

But the fact that she was here was not.

She wasn’t a tourist on some sightseeing trip, and the air she exuded seemed to say just as such. Touting shopkeepers wisely stopped short of advertising their goods to her, noting the stern, focused glare on her expression. Or perhaps it was the gold and purple sword at her side. Either way, she appreciated the effort. It aided her in locating the building mentioned in the brief that the client was waiting for her and her temporary colleagues in.

She was greeted by a small gathering of three, excluding the client who sat behind his desk, in the rather spacious office space (thankfully), when she entered. Her eyes darted across those gathered, and made mental notes. Victoria Angelbright was there, also representing Blue Pegasus, perhaps. Constanze had not received word that she would be here, but considering that their performance was scheduled nearby… The next one she found in the room was Eli Tail, Fairy Tail’s own S-class, poring over a book. Still so young. She didn’t remember ever working with him previously, though she was aware of his legacy from eavesdropping on Fairy Tail members in the past few years. The other one present was a boy with golden locks. This one was completely lost to her. She had no idea who he was.

She gave a small curtsy as a general greeting to all around her, uttering a simple ‘Good day,’ before shifting herself away from the door to a wall nearby. The Angelbright lass was already doing some of the talking, given by how things were, and the air was thick enough to cut with a butter knife, much less with Salisbury. She would reel back her tongue for the time being, and just watch. Out of interest, she glanced at the book that Eli was holding in his hands. She made a face. Terrible choice. Romantic mystery was fine, but the fact that the book sold poorly told much about its contents. She wondered if Eli Tail was the kind to accept a book for its poor endings, or whether he would flip. Wearing an expression of amused bemusement, she settled back to leaning on the wall and waiting.

Duncan Fire
Duncan had some sort of habit of dragging behind. At this point, he had only just entered a consensual spot of resting within Crocus. He didn't enjoy any sort of traveling other than his own two feet. After all, why not enjoy the surroundings while he could peacefully? Even so, the time it was taking was truly an annoyance even for him.

Upon spotting a small food stall, Duncan stepped through the curtain, plastering himself against the counter. One could practically say he was worn out, having walked for so long. Nothing a cup of hot noodles couldn't fix. He had heard Crocus had some of the best soups around, and was curious to test that claim. It wasn't long before he placed his order and received his meal, climbing into the stool set before him.

Duncan was a sloppy eater, juice from the noodles seen draining down the corners of his lips. As if he hadn't ate in ages, Duncan slurped down his bowl within mere seconds. Slamming the bowl down with excitement, Duncan jumped up from his seat, placing his payment on the counter as he spoke. "You sir! You saved my life." Grinning almost with absolute stupidity, Duncan then took his leave.

He hadn't that much farther to travel, considering this said town was just outside of Crocus. Call him silly, but Duncan had never really heard of this Mahlon city. Perhaps he needed to get out more. After all, back at Lamia Scale, he never found himself doing much more than running around aimlessly. With a shrug of his shoulders, Duncan cointinued his trek, planning to arrive at his destination within the next hour.

However, Duncan growing tired from having eaten, mustered up the courage to grab onto the back of a passing carriage. Almost immediately throwing up, Duncan hunkered down, forcing himself to tolerate his sickness just for the few minutes it would take for him to arrive. Coughing as he jumped off the back of the carriage, Duncan glanced at his paper, comparing it to the building standing before him.

"I guess this is it."
Duncan sauntered up the steps, being countered by some sort of butler. Puzzled and amazed all the same, he followed said butler, only to enter a room where a man spawns settled behind some fancy desk, and four other people where gathered around. Two male, two female. Being the odd ball, Duncan stepped into the room with an awkward expression, his left hand rubbing at the back of his head. Clearing his throat, Duncan positioned himself against the far wall closest to the window, setting his bag down as he spoke. "Glad to be working with all of ya."

Emmet S. Finnigan

Emmet was usually an always positive, never let them see my inner feelings type of guy. However, as the carriage that had been paid to escort him to Mahlan made it's way into the city he was visibly agonized. It felt like the first time Esmerelda had him use that gravity well to train his body. He swore his insides were going to be his outsides and vice versa any moment, and his green pallor of nausea made that clear for his carriage driver to see. It took quite some time, but he finally managed to pull the carriage door open and toss himself out. The carriage driver who had been trying to ignore him and his sounds of agony, did not take notice of this until he was all the way down the street by which time it was too late.

Almost immediately upon leaving the moving vehicle and touching solid ground Emmet recovered from the infinite pain and suffering. He picked himself up off the ground, dusted off his suit and pants, and disarmed the weird looks he got with a wide, shining smile. This had mixed results as only some seem assuaged, others looked at him like he was even crazier. Regardless of which though everyone gave him a wide berth. He pulled out a map of the city from his pocket and tried discerning where he was compared to where he needed to go. Being illiterate made this extensively difficult, but he eventually felt mildly confident he knew where to go.

Following the path he made his way through the city streets, watching people come and go with a small smile of content on his face. He wished Esmerelda could see it. When he found her, or he supposed when she found him, she seemed so lonely and he always wished they could visit cities together one day. Honestly thinking on the subject made him wistful so he attempted to move on. He found himself in front of the building he believed was the rendezvous point for the mission. It seemed professional enough for a government building. He made his way through the front door and.... found himself faced with varying business types running around and tossing papers and yelling about stock this, exchange that, and such. He didn't understand what they were on about, but it was clear he had entered the wrong building.

Slowly backing out the doors, he turned back street side and looked at the map again. He really needed to learn to read. He came to the realization he would not likely find his way to the building he needed on his own. He waved over a random passerby. "Excuse me, sir. I can't seem to get my bearing using this map. Would you mind pointing me in the direction of this building." Emmet pointed to the name of the building in question on the mission flyer. The man gave him a skeptical look but gave him directions. Emmet thanked the man and made his way to the building in swift order. He was guided to the proper office and when he entered found he was the last to arrive. He recognized everyone gathered there except the man behind the desk.

Constanze and Victoria were two women from his guild and both his betters in rank and experience. He perked up immediately upon seeing them, smiling as if he wasn't consumed by self loathing for being last to show up. The other two were dragon slayers from other guilds. He hadn't dealt with them directly, but had heard of them. Dragon slayers were rare after all, so keeping track of them wasn't extensively difficult. Duncan was Lamia Scale's dragon slayer and a user of fire dragon magic. Lowell was Sabretooth's and a user of lightning dragon magic. Both were above him in rank, in fact every dragon slayer in Fiore was to his ire. Yet, he was the only physical element slayer so he could say that much with pride. Lastly was a Fairy Tail's S rank mage, Eli Jail, who appeared to be busy reading a novel of some kind. He made his way over to stand next to Victoria and awaited the mission briefing.

Lowell Thrice and Detective Coones
As the detective watched mages meander into his office at his own pace, he was quickly becoming aware of the fact that having this meeting in his office might not have been the best idea. It wasn’t the largest space available and he definitely didn’t have enough room to seat everyone and he could feel the room becoming more and more cramped with each person who entered. All the other offices would be full, though. This wasn’t the only case consuming resources within Fiore and the detective knew that even if he wanted to take everyone to a more open meeting room, finding one would be difficult without notice in advance. His office would just have to work out.

Watching, he nodded to each of the mages as they walked in. The detective didn’t say anything, though, simply because he didn’t want to have to repeat himself later. His briefing would wait until everyone was there.

“Welcome to Mahlan,” he greeted everyone after doing a mental count. There was one more than he expected, but Victoria had already explained why that was so he wasn’t going to question or doubt that they had everyone. “I trust you all read the condensed version of the problem. We have a thief in town and they’ve been rather unpredictable in their movements which is making it hard to catch them.” That was the gist of what he expected them to already know. “In fact, I’m not entirely sure that there is just one person involved. I believe there may be more than one thief and they’ve stolen some valuables of major significance from all over the city.”

The mention of there being more than one would be new information.

“They don’t disable alarms when they’re there, but by the time the alarms go off, no one is around anymore and everything is gone. It’s too quick not to be magical and on some nights, there has been too much stolen for it to have reasonably been one person. There is no evidence as to who it is that we can ever find, though, and there’s zero predictability, either. Some nights, they steal from very official places and other nights, we’re learning about missing bikes from a child’s backyard. Nothing adds up about it at all.”

Lowell was listening to the description in detail and there was one thing he knew he could do to try and help. If alarms went off, he knew he could get there far more quickly than any of the detectives would have been able to so far. Maybe he could find something that they couldn’t if he could get there fast enough. Then he remembered something else. “There was a mention of a museum opening, I think?” He was hoping they could get more details about that.

“Yes. Tomorrow night is when they have their grand opening. So far, nothing’s been stolen from the building at all and I personally find that rather odd. I would be shocked if they didn’t try something there sooner or later. The curator is as nervous as I am, too. She’s requested that I ask for a few of you at least to be at the opening tomorrow night.” Given the situation, it didn’t seem like an unreasonable request at all. “You could probably go speak with her sooner, but beyond that, I don’t really have any leads to give you.” The detective seemed rather disappointed in himself.

Eli Tail
"The Singularity"

'- kept ticking, on and on. As he turned to face the door, a feeling of-' Eli's attention was quickly snapped away from his book and to the detective the moment the man had begun addressing them, eyes finding their way to his face. Absently, he noted that the room was a bit cramped for what it was, but considering that they wouldn't be here for too long it didn't really matter. As he listened in, most of what was told he already knew, though the mention of it possibly being more than one person was new, it wasn't something that he didn't already think of as being part of this mission, what with the extreme lack of precise information available to them. Granted, all of this was to be expected from the very get go, and so Eli put it to the back of his mind for the time being and kept his focus on the kind detective.

Still though, as the detective finished speaking, Eli nodded once to himself, put away his book, and let his usual serene smile spread ever so slightly. "Nonetheless, your help is much appreciated Detective. You've done the best you can with what you had to work with, and that in itself is admirable." Standing up straight and glancing about the room once more, he gave a polite nod to everyone. "If none of you mind, I'll start making my way to the museum." With one last polite nod, Eli excused himself from the room and started his steady trek to the town's museum, mind filled with possibilities on the source of this town's thievery problem. At the very least the whole situation should turn out to be fairly interesting to say the least, though he did hope it was resolved fast, lest the people here continue to be terrorized by what could only be called a phantom with a penchant for stealing in no particular pattern.

Constanze von Disastre
Emmet Finnigan arrived after a redheaded youth from Lamia Scale, given by the guild tattoo on his cheek. She restrained herself from commenting about the Lamia Scale mage’s lack of decency in terms of his fashion sense...and the sheer shockingly frightful hair style. What was he thinking? Why, even her father, in his 80s, had better sense than he! She tapped Salisbury’s pommel, then shifted her weight so she stood straight, listening to what the detective had to say. She extracted the piece of paper from her satchel and scribbled onto it points of what Detective Coones had said, further summarising what he had already condensed. The first point was the suspicion that there were more than one suspects involved. The second was that the thieves weren’t too particular of what they stole. She hesitated, then tacked on a ‘Really???’ next to that point. Professional thieves were not without methods. Simply stealing anything they fancied was not the work of a thief (thieves?) who could sneak through security systems. She pondered on the possibility of Speed Magic being used in this scenario, and then wondered how much collateral damage she could possibly cause if it came to confronting the thieves. She scribbled these thoughts as curt as she can on her piece of paper, then folded it neatly before slipping it back into her bag.

Eli Tail had already left for the museum, and she doubted the Detective could have any more to say. Anything else important, that was. She resolved to head for the museum as well, just to take notes on the architecture and the security systems in place. She produced a well-practiced curtsy for the detective. “You will pardon me if I excuse myself, Detective, sir. Worry not, you have been of most use. I would think finding clues in such a case would prove difficult even for mages. Now, I shall bid you adieu.

She turned, and motioned to her guildmates.

Victoria, Emmet, I shall head to the museum too. You are free to follow, or to do otherwise as you please. I take my leave.” She nodded to both of them in salutations, then moved out of the room, leaving the door open behind her.

Eli Tail had not made much distance between himself and the building just yet. Even with her short legs (she fumed a little at this), she caught up with him easily. “Master Tail, you must pardon my intrusion on your lovely stroll, but I wish to discuss some matters of the case at hand. Do you mind?” She did not wait for a response, and launched straight into her first question. “What are your thoughts on the...thief or thieves?

Lowell Thrice
Well, the group was moving now. It only made sense that Lowell started moving himself along as well and the young boy with the katana at his hip did just that. However, just before he hit the door, Lowell turned and asked one quick question. “Do you happen to have a list of what’s been stolen so far?” he asked Detective Coones.

“I can most definitely compile that information for you,” the detective replied. Without hesitation, he stood from his seat, presumably to go do just that.

“Thank you,” Lowell smiled and then he ran after the eager beavers who were already moving. “Wait up!” he called out to them before running to catch up. “It seems like some of us might be splitting up and here seems like a good place to meet back up seeing as everyone knows how to get here. How about we meet back here around seven? We can see if anyone found anything?” That would give them time to figure out how they wanted to watch for thefts that coming night, if they even wanted to try so soon.

Lowell couldn’t think of any reason why anyone would object and if no one did, he would assign himself to stay and wait for Detective Coones’ list. Eli and Constanze could go check out the museum and Lowell wouldn’t mind in the slightest. Heck, they could take some of the others with if they wanted. It was a reasonable place to look.

It could truthfully be said that while Lowell seemed to be thinking like a team player, he was just trying to get himself some time to walk around without having a bunch of mages, particularly the ones that smelled like him. Lowell didn’t have a habit of knowing dragon slayers and that was because he didn’t want to be asked about his life as one.

Somewhere in an Alley…
“I must say, I was expecting you guys to turn up a lot sooner than you actually did,” a sassy female voice drolled at the others gathered in front of her.

“Come on, though,” a male, deep in voice and in years it seemed, sighted with exasperation. “I think most of us were expecting something a little less subtle from you.”

“If I was any more overt, we’d have too much trouble on our hands and that wouldn’t be good either. Attention’s not supposed to be on us right now, anyway. Or have you forgotten… eyes should be elsewhere?” Her voice was simple at first, but it grew deadly sharp towards the end.

“We’ve not forgotten, hun. At least, I haven’t.” an accusing glare was casted over the other three who were with the man who spoke. This man, although his voice was evidently younger than the other male who’d spoken, seemed to command a greater amount of authority. “Anyone who forgets orders is beyond an idiot if they actually still show up at the endgame.” It almost sounded more like he was telling any of the three who were with him that if they had forgotten, they should run now while they still could.

“Exactly.”

She could feel eyes glaring at her, though. It wasn’t pleasant.

“I suppose it could’ve been worse. You haven’t missed all the fun. There’s three more things of value that are worth some small efforts.” She passed a document between all of them; including herself, there were five in the briefing. “We’ll move tomorrow night. Try not to do anything stupid until then.”

A chuckle rumbled through the little gathering and then they dispersed… just like that.

Please note that this conversation happens in a dark ally! If your character happens to be wandering by and hears any of it, chances are they only hear a small piece of it and chances are, unless you’re intending on walking in on them, you don’t get a look at any of the faces there.

Also, please don’t all happen to walk in on it. That would kinda ruin the point.

Duncan Fire

Duncan was only half-heartedly minding the others in the room, up until the detective started to speak. The information was never something he always easily understood. After all, many in his guild would say he was more of a field player. With a small cough to clear his throat, Duncan listened quietly and intentionally to the instructions and small bits of information peovided. Through the briefing two others asked decent question, both of which were addressed in a timely manner. However, Duncan couldn't help but to still find himself wondering. Even so, he wasn't the brightest light in the house so of course nobody would expect entirely too much from him.

It wasn't nothing but mere minutes before they were all dismissed. However, not having much knowledge of the others within the room, a small group of three were the first to leave. Eli Tail, Constanze, and Lowell, the other dragon slayer he had been smelling since he arrived.. Shifting his gaze through the door, Duncan found his attention falling upon another figure he had yet to notice originally. Someone who must have entered the room after him. Emmet Finnigan of Blue Pegasus. The ones who consisted of many people obsessed with what others called fashion. A term Duncan didn't quite understand. Rubbing at the back on his head, his gaze returned to the other areas of the room. Would he stay with them?

All things considered, Duncan wasn't about to surround himself with those that he felt uncomfortable around. And right about now, he would prefer to saunter off and go get more food. He wasn't one to go on too many lone wolf adventures, and would prefer of course if someone else left before him so he could follow. Leadership wasn't his strong suit, and he definitely wouldn't allow someone to falsely believe it. Now resting both his hands against the back of his neck, Duncan could be heard speaking with a sound of strain as he stretched. "Anyone else ready to get this show on the road?"

Victoria Angelbright
As the mages assembled, Victora began to notice how cramped the detective's office was beginning to be. Her big suitcase didn't help much either. In an attempt to alleviate the tight assemblage of people, Victoria sat down on top of her suitcase like a chair and sat comfortably with her legs crossed. She pulled off her shades and hooked them onto the collar of her long jacket as the detective began to talk.

Due to her last minute addition to the mission, Victora hadn't read a condensed version of the Mahlan problem, rather, she had been told it. She was thankful for the detective's more detailed run down on the situation, even it it left more questions than answers. "It sounds like you're on the right track, detective," Victora said after Coones stopped talking. "If we all investigate I'm sure we'll be able to get to the bottom of it."

Victora turned to her companions and noticed that a few of her allies were already beginning to move. Victora slid off her suitcase and rolled it out with her as she followed Eli and Constanze. "I'll join you at the museum in a few minutes. If I show up in the middle of your conversation with the curator, I'd like to look at your notes later, Constanze," she said, directing the last part to her guildmate.

Before she could fully part ways with her allies, Lowell caught up with them and suggested a meeting time for everyone to regroup. "Sounds reasonable to me," she replied, vocalizing her agreement before giving a see-you-later nod and walking off toward a hotel. The mages would have to find some place to spend the night before the big event tomorrow and she didn't want to lug her luggage around all day.

As Victoria made her way toward the hotel, she heard a voice in an ally say, “We’ll move tomorrow night. Try not to do anything stupid until then.” Unless there were other shady business going on in Mahlan, this had to be a voice of one of the thieves. Victoria decided not to confront the thieves. She didn't know if she would be facing two individuals or more than two. Even though she was confident in her magic abilities, she thought it would be more strategic to keep the thieves unaware of the presence of the mages that had answered the call to stop them. She quickly passed the ally and approached the hotel.

Once at the hotel, Victora checked into a room and left her suitcase in the closet. She then began to make her way out of the hotel and headed toward the museum. though not before leaving a note at the hotel's front desk for delivery to Detective Coones.

A big theft is indeed going to be attempted tomorrow night, but keep your eyes peeled for thefts before then. The thieves might get antsy. - Victoria Angelbright

Eli Tail
"The Singularity"

The moment that Constanze caught up with him, Eli snapped out of his reverie of the nonsensical and gave her his full attention. Somewhere in the back of his mind he was flattered at the added usage of the title 'Master' to his name. Still, he didn't think that helping others meant he was entitled to be addressed like that. Maybe it was his rank that was the cause of this? He knew he was young when he reached the rank he now held, even among the 'prodigies' of the world, but he was no Guild Master, and he was far from the strongest person around. Quickly stopping himself from roaming further down that train of thought, he decided to answer her before he went off on another mental tangent that led him nowhere fast. Giving her a bow of the head and a gentle smile, he began to respond, but stopped as more people from inside joined with them and conversed. He could find no objection to either of their plans of action, so he too gave them a small nod and smile to show his acceptance of their ideas.

Turning back to Constanze he gave her another gentle smile, though this one was tinged with an apologetic feel, and spoke to her. "My apologies on the delay in addressing you Frau von Disastre. And please, call me Eli, or Mr. Tail if you must give me a title."

Straightening himself, he turned back forward and continued towards the museum. "To answer your question, it honestly comes down to a very few possibilities, at least in my opinion. These thefts are either a diversion, a test run of some new magic, the result of a boredom and teleportation, or some abnormal tear in space-time due to an experiment caused by an incompetent mage that didn't know what exactly they were doing. "

Eli shrugged as a wry smile stretched across his lips, left hand reaching up to take off his hat and hold it lightly by his side, while his right ran through his long purple hair, looking up at the clouds that peacefully drifted by. Faintly, he wished that night would arrive so the stars would be revealed once more. Mentally shaking his head at this slight diversion to his train of thought, he donned his hat once again, and glanced over at Constanze. "No matter the case I look forward to partaking in this mission, if only for the wistful recollection it brings to me." At this, his smile turned ever so slightly nostalgic before he shook his head once and continued, "But enough of my inane ramblings and thoughts, what think you of all this Frau von Disastre?"

Lowell Thrice
As Lowell returned from formulating a plan with the others, he noticed that one of the mages on the team still seemed to be sticking around. At least, he hadn’t run off yet although he did look like he was ready to get moving. “You’re a Fairy Tail mage, right?” Lowell inquired of Duncan. Then he continued, “Eli and one of the ladies were going to go meet with the museum curator and I think Victoria was going to go a roundabout way to get there. You’re welcome to head with either one of them or you can stick with me. I’m waiting for a list of what was stolen from the residential areas and then I’m going to poke my head around there a bit.” All things considered, it probably wouldn’t have been a bad idea for Lowell to have someone with him, but he could smell that Duncan was a dragon slayer and Lowell really had no interest in exploring that connection between the two of them. Then again, Lowell also wasn’t going to be mean and lessen the name of Sabertooth in the process.

Not really paying much attention to which option Duncan decided to go with, Lowell simply continued to wait around for Detective Coones to return with the list. If the Fairy Tail slayer was still around when Lowell got the list, then Lowell supposed he would deal with the company.

It actually took about a half an hour before Detective Coones returned because it really was quite the interesting list of items that had been stolen over the course of the week. Some of the items really didn’t seem to line up at all with any of the other things and some of them were what appeared to be simple household items. However, he did return and hand the item over to Lowell. It was an organized list of what had been stolen, who had contacted the department to report it stolen, the date that it was noted to be missing and their address. Everything Lowell could need was right on that sheet of paper.

“Thank you, Detective. I’m going to go ask a few pointed questions and see what I can learn.”

The detective was agreeable and Lowell headed out. If Duncan was still waiting around, then Lowell waved for him to follow. They could look into things together.

Detective Coones
Gathering up the list hadn’t been that hard or time consuming. What made it take so long was that Detective Coones also put in the effort to compile it all into a single document for Lowell to use because he figured it would be easier than carrying around three different files all containing some information he would want and some information that would be useless to him. Some of them even had complete transcripts of the original calls that had been made and while it was potentially helpful for them early in the investigation, by now, those details seemed almost pointless.

Lowell seemed content with the document he’d provided, though, and so Detective Coones was satisfied with the extra effort he had put into it. He told Lowell that he would be available if they needed anything else, and he asked Lowell to pass that message on to the rest of their group, and then he’d let the mages get to work. Detective Coones would simply continue doing research on his end.

Or, that was the plan.

Things changed a little bit when he came back because the office secretary came over to him. “Detective, a note came in for you. I’m not quite sure who this person is, but it’s addressed to you.”

Holding out his hand, Detective Coones took the note and glanced it over. He was certain Victoria Angelbright was one of the mages who had come to help which meant that the mages were already learning things he wouldn’t have known. He waved a hand quickly at the secretary, muttered a quick, “Thank you,” and then shifted his attention.

Detective Coones worked on getting as many officers as possible to be available at the museum opening because he was certain that was where the problems would be.

A Music Fan
As she was walking, Victoria Angelbright did not manage to go completely unnoticed in the slightest. Quite the contrary, in fact. A fair number of people in town seemed to recognize her both from having seen recent advertisements of her most recent show with her family and there were also a few people wandering around who had actually been there and see in live and in person. It really didn’t make it that easy for her to get anywhere quickly.

In fact, there was one individual who began following her almost as soon as she left the hotel whether Victoria noticed it or not. It was a woman with brown hair. She was probably in her mid-twenties or so by anyone’s best guess and she had a couple tattoos of intrigue although nothing seemed overly spectacular. She had a pair of green headphones as well although she wore them around her neck rather than on her ears.

The woman didn’t approach Victoria right away, though. Instead, she just kept getting a bit closer and closer until eventually, Victoria would find that she could hear her own music playing in the girl’s headphones. She seemed too nervous to actually approach directly.

Who knew how to talk to a superstar, after all?

At the Museum
It really wasn’t too long of a walk for Eli and Constanze once they started heading towards the museum. It wouldn’t have been too long of a walk for Victoria either, really, although her path was marred with people who recognized her which would make it take just a tad longer.

When they arrived, they would find that the front door was open which might have seemed initially odd. However, as they walked in, if they walked in, they would see that there was a woman sitting at the front desk and the area behind her was completely gated off. There was no human way to get through; surely some mages of some brands would manage, but it certainly wouldn’t be an easy task.

“Our grand opening is tomorrow night and we aren’t allowing any visitors until then. Is there anything I can get for you? Perhaps ticket information for the grand opening or the days to follow? I do have a brochure that gives some information about our displays if you’re interested.” She didn’t seem to consider the fact that anyone might have an actual business reason to be there, but she also seemed friendly enough that she would listen if they mentioned it.

Duncan wasn't entirely hopeful for a response to his misplaced excitement, but was indeed disappointment for the lack of answers. Taken aback by his silent rejection, Duncan was about to call it a day and head out of the room, up until he heard a voice beckon a question towards his person. With a slight glint of relief within his irises, Duncan found himself face to face with Lowell Thrice. Belonging to,Sabertooth....and a dragonslayer.

All in all, Duncan was bewildered for a moment, simply thinking of who this guys dragon could have been, or if he had a similar background to his own. Childish fantasies aside, Lowell's words traced through Duncan's conscious, being scanned as they were delivered. He wasn't able to give much of an answer at first, due to the fact that Lowell was focused on getting the list from the detective, which left Duncan some time to consider his options. Stand around bored? Or leave?

It was only a matter of mere seconds for Duncan to come to a conclusion, although he did not want to alert Lowell of such ridiculous consideration. Clearing his throat, Duncan was about to speak, at least up until Lowell turned to leave and waved for him to follow. Almost as if he already knew what his answer would have been. Grabbing his bag off the floor, Duncan jogged for mere seconds to come into step with Lowell, before peering over at the list held in his hands.
"So. What does it say?"

Victoria Angelbright
Victoria quickly realized her high profile status as citizens began to point her out to each other. Hopefully the thieves weren't around. Things would be a bit more difficult of the thieves knew that mages would try to stop them from stealing from the museum; If they did know she was in Mahlan, she wanted them to think that she was there for some relaxation after the concert.

Victora put her sunglasses on and began to slowly make her way through the ground. "Sorry, no time for autographs. Mage business." she explained. Victoria turned onto a new street and paused to let out a sigh of relief as she realized that she was free from the crowd. Not wanting to be slowed down again, Victoria used her hair magic to manipulate her hair length and color. She shortened her hair until it was shoulder length and changed her hair pigmentation from her natural blonde to a brown color, making her look like a brunette. Victoria didn't have any way to magically change her clothes, but she could pass herself off as an Victoria Angelbright fan if approached by a new crowd.

Victoria was about to continue making her way toward the museum when she head her music playing behind her. She turned and saw the young woman with the headphones around her neck. Judging by the music playing, she was a fan of The Angelbrights. How long as she been behind her? Did she see her try to disguise herself by manipulating her hair?

"Can I help you?"
Victoria asked with a concerned tone in her voice as she pulled her sunglasses lower down her nose, revealing her blue eyes.

Lowell Thrice
Hearing Duncan’s question, Lowell offered the Fairy Tail mage the list so that he could look it over himself. However, he would still explain as well. “It looks like whoever is doing this is being smart about it. They’re stealing things of no value or importance at all to mask some of their more valuable steals as coincidences. For example, you see the mention of them stealing a mirror? Look at the description of it.” And the writing would reveal that the steal had actually been quite valuable. There had been diamonds embedded in the frame. In that same household, it seemed that they had also stolen a cellphone and a wallet. The wallet hadn’t had much in it, though.

Then on that same night, they had stolen from a few other houses. They stole a kid’s bike, some gardening supplies… most of it seemed like random junk. The thing to notice was that every once in a while, something that sounded like random junk actually had real value.

“What I want to do is look into the most recent steals first. The police haven’t investigated those yet and I want to see if there’s anything new we can learn there. I doubt it, but there isn’t any other obvious place to start,” Lowell commented. “A lot of the houses that have lost things are in the same neighborhood so from there we can check out a few other details if we need to.”

Lowell didn’t really take time to wait and see if Duncan had any other ideas. He just started heading to the residential areas of town and when he got there, he walked to the last address on the list and knocked on the door. “Hello!?” Lowell called inside.

It was taking a while. It was taking a long while, actually.

“Well,” he sighed, “this seems to be a bust.”

However, just as soon as he said that, the door opened wide and a woman stepped forward. “Hello. Is there something I can help you with?” She was tentative about opening the door which really made sense if she’d just been robbed.

They still had to try and talk to her, though.

When Victoria Angelbright turned around and faced her, the woman in headphones nearly jumped out of her hoodie and her headphones nearly toppled right off of her head. She managed to catch them before they hit the ground, but it was a fumbling bumbling sort of catch that wasn’t very graceful at all. “Oh… ah… uhm… hi there, Ms. Angelbright,” the woman stumbled over her words.

“Uhm… I… uh… no. I don’t think you c-can help me.” She turned around and started to walk away just like that, but then she turned back around again. “Actually… uhm… I’ve done a few remixes of your music and I… well… I was wondering if you could… listen to them sometime?”

Hesitantly, the girl reached into her pockets and pulled out two different jump drives. She held them out to Victoria Angelbright, a blushing smile on her cheeks. She was clearly a bit nervous about handing over her work, but it was also an opportunity that she likely would never get again.

At the Museum
The receptionist’s eyes flickered between the two people standing in front of her, wondering if either one of them was going to answer her question about what they were looking for or what they were hoping to find. Neither one of them seemed overly determined to answer her and she added, “If you guys aren’t here for anything particular, I’m afraid I’m going to have to ask you to leave. We’re busy preparing for an opening ceremony.”

Just as she was about to get up and start escorting them out of the museum, though, another woman walked in from behind the desk. “Hold on Joanne. I think I know what they’re here for and I’m probably the person they are seeking to talk to.” Turning to face the two mages, the new woman then spoke to them. “You’re mages sent to help with the thievery investigation, correct?”

Waving her arm towards both Constanze and Eli, she made as though she was going to lead them back towards her office. Once again, though, it seemed interruptions were bound to prevent them from actually accomplishing anything. Another person came in from the door behind them and they were carrying a portable archive system. “Excuse me. Uhm… you are Constanze Von Disastre right?” Without waiting for confirmation, he set his portable archive down and pushed the button.

A letter popped up.

Dear Connie,

I hope this letter finds you well, my dear. I am writing you because it has recently been brought to my attention that Royce Obertuck; the former guild master of Raven Tail who was arrested for practicing dark magic, is being transferred from Ilan Vair to Black Vox. This was a top priority mission that the magic council made available to all official guilds except Raven Tail. I just received a dispatch from them expressing concern that they haven’t received any aid from Blue Pegasus. They’ve also told me that, despite their efforts to keep Raven Tail uninvolved, Royce’s granddaughter, Maki Obertuck, has joined them in this venture. I’m sure I don’t need to explain why this would be cause for apprehension.

Being the most trusted guild in Fiore, I believe we have a responsibility to its people. It is time for us to take action. That is why I’m sending you to act as emissary for Blue Pegasus. It is imperative that Royce gets to Black Vox without obstruction. Do what needs to be done to get him there. Please give my apologies to the mages you’re currently working with and let them know that this is a mission of utmost importance. You are the right mage for the job. Now get moving, and may the spirit of Blue Pegasus fly with you.

With Appreciation,

Jules Prescott; Regal Overlord of the Blue Pegasus guild

Constanze von DisastreShe could not deny that Eli Tail’s suppositions were quite feasible. As her companion made to look wistful, she rubbed her temples, a look of pure concentration twisting her expression, the eyepatch on her face contorting slightly as well to give her a rather angered expression. So into her thoughts was she that she had completely ignored the question that the woman behind the counter of the museum had given. Just what exactly was the culprit’s motive? “Perhaps an amalgamation of all of those?” she spoke aloud. “The smaller thefts are simply experimental, a fine tuning, so to speak, some may even be accidental. Then, once everything has been perfected, the magic is then utilised at an accurate enough capability…oh yes that is indeed--” she was interrupted rather unceremoniously by a man with a portable archive, who shoved a letter into her hands. Keeping a select few curses locked behind pursed lips, she opened up the letter.

Her eyes scanned through it, identifying Prescott’s rather characteristic, swirling cursive that flowed throughout the page. There was only one mage in Fiore that would write with such colour in his words, as far as she knew, at least for a letter addressed to her. She scrutinized every word carefully and slowly, before she folded the letter neatly in half, then half again, and pressed her fingers to the bridge of her nose.

Royce Obertuck. She had heard of the name. Some years ago, he was charged under heinous crimes, and was subsequently captured and imprisoned. A dark mage, they called him, a stigma to practitioners of magic like her own. That said, she could not also deny that power had a certain seductive appeal. Maki Obertuck was an unfamiliar name, so she would have to take it at face value that she was the dark mage’s grandchild indeed. Raven Tail’s ex-Guild Master, being escorted by a Raven Tail member. Yes, this was indeed cause for worry. Blue Pegasus’ rapport with the people was secondary- the main cause of worry was something else deeper. The blood of the covenant may be thicker than the water of the womb, but what if both were hand-in-hand? What then?

She opened her eye and looked straight at Eli Tail, no easy feat since it involved arching her head upwards at the taller man. “I’m afraid my contributions end here, Mast-- Mr. Tail. I have been called to…aid in other pressing matters. A storm brews elsewhere. Apologies, from both myself and Master Prescott. Please, if you will, inform my fellow guildmates of my departure and my regret that I cannot work with them for this mission.
I, too, have looked forwards to seeing your skill, Mr. Tail. Alas, I must bid farewell. May we find each other again under clearer skies.
” She gave a curtsy and, sweeping her skirt around her, she departed with sure strides.

“Of course,” Victoria replied in a friendly way. She flashed a smile at her fan as she took the drives and placed them in her bag-like purse. “Could you give me your name and address so I can return the drives when I’m done listening to them?” she asked, pulling out a notepad and pen.

The music fan looked to be in so much shock that it almost seemed as though she’d missed Victoria’s question entirely. She was at such a loss for words. “R-r-really? You’ll really listen to them?” Her eyes had a sort of “this isn’t real” kind of look and she was looking around herself as though expecting to discover a dream of some sort or another.

”After I get back to my guild’s hall, I promise I will,” Victoria replied. “You’re going to want these back afterword. What’s your name and address?” she asked, hinting a little that she’d have a fun surprise for her fan on the drives when they were returned.

The fan’s eyes widened. “Oh! You’re… yeah… uhm… I’m Charity. I… uh… you can send them to the library here. I can pick them up there.” She said it with more than a little anxiety, but she also seemed certain in her answer and then she stepped forward and extended her hand. “It was nice to meet you!”

Victoria quickly wrote the information down before returning the pen and notepad into her bag. “Likewise,” she replied as she shook Charity’s hand. She gave the girl a quick ‘so long’ nod before continuing her trek toward the museum.

When she arrived at the building, Victoria caught a glimpse of Constanze off in the distance. It looked like her guildmate had left the museum before she had arrived. Victoria quickened her pace and ran toward the front desk. She hated to be late for things and the possibility of missing meeting the museum coordinator alongside her fellow wizards didn’t sit right with her.

“I’m a part of the wizard team investigating the recent thefts. I was hoping to speak to the curator...” she began to explain, using her magic to return her hair back into its normal length and color.

“She just led your friend to the back. It’s the first door on your left.” and as she said it, she gestured towards the back.

"The Singularity"

Eli gave a small polite nod and his signature passive smile as he watched Constanze walk away, drawn off to another, presumably, more pressing mission. Mentally, he wished her the best of luck in her new upcoming trials, as it must have been quite the problem. Still, what's done was done he supposed with a sigh and roll of the shoulders, turning back as the woman led him away towards the back of the museum. Giving her a bigger smile than the one he usually wore, he bowed at the waist and introduced himself. "The name is Eli Tail of the guild Fairy Tail, thank you for taking the time to meet with me. I am in fact one of the mages sent to find out about the thefts. Considering that the museum is going to be quite the attraction soon, me and my companions found it prudent to find any clues we can about the possible culprits."

Straightening himself, Eli took a moment to glance around. "While I would like to get started, I do believe I may have at least one more person joining me. Forgive me for the inconvenience, but if we could wait a few minutes before delving into this, that would be much appreciated. In the meantime, would you mind terribly, if I took a quick look around to familiarize myself with the museum?" Even as he spoke, Eli had began scanning the environment around him, taking note of anything that could be considered a clue or a possible avenue for thieves to come through and do whatever dastardly theft they planned on. Though honestly, if push come to shove, unless the magic they used was some form of localized teleportation, he could likely at least slow down the thieves with a few well placed gravity bubbles. The downside, of course, was that doing so would put some of the exhibits in danger of harm and Fairy Tail really didn't need the problems that came with destroying priceless artifacts. Especially if it was because of someone of his stature. Eli sighed again and continued looking around, mentally hoping that some of his newfound companions would have less... Destructive powers at their disposal.

Sasha Washington
"Ahhhh...it feels so good to stretch my legs!" The long-haired woman spoke with a husky accent, and walked with a bounce in her step down the street of Mahlan, her hands spread out in a stretch as she rolled her head, stretching her neck. This woman was none other than the B-Class mage of Fairy Tail, Sasha Washington. Her hair nearly scraped the stone beneath her feet, it being her most defining feature, and the few people walking by her took a moment to stare quizzically at her.

Stopping at a corner of streets, she placed her hands on her hips and looked from side to side. "
Really, now that I'm here...where am I supposed to go? I've never been in this town before, and I'm supposed to find a museum or something?" Reaching into the back pocket of her pants, she pulled out a map of the town she had picked up off the ground. Opening it up, she stared at it, squinting. "Honestly, why can't they just put it all in big, bold letters? Fiorans can never cater to the needs of others, huh?" Folding it back up, she placed it back in her pocket and sighed. She didn't want to ask any of the passerbys, in fear of seeming useless as a mage. Especially of Fairy Tail, which needed the boost in reputation. She groaned, though it sounded more like a low growl of a canine of some sort.

She decided the best course of action would be to just keep walking until she found something useful to point her the right way. She was sure if she was able to use her magic, she could just blast around until she found where she needed to go. However, if she did, she was positive she would cause a stir. Her Brown Alpha form would catch a lot of attention, as who wouldn't question a big brown wolf woman sprinting through the streets? Again, she let out a deep sigh, upset she had to be a good girl. If only she...

She paused as he felt a tingle on her nose, and she turned to look down a street she was passing. She could sense, or somewhat smell, magic power coming from down the street, where two young boys were talking to a woman on her doorsteps. From Sasha's limited information, the woman seemed to be a citizen, so she may know about where the museum was. But the two boys were maybe mages, which meant they may be in the city to handle the mission she was on. She grinned and started jogging down the street to them all. As she got close, she started waving wildly. "Excuse me! Hey, you two!" Once she got close enough, she saw that the two of them were both young, probably a decade younger than Sasha herself. Her grin turned even bigger. "Awwwwwwww, you two are just little ones! So cute, so cute." She ruffled their hair and then placed her hands on her hips. "You two must be trying to be heroes, huh? Well, good for you! They start so early..." She said the last part under her breath, but just loud enough to be heard. She looked to the woman, and then back to the two of them. "Well, alright. Let's get started! What are we doing right now?"

(Sorry it took me so long. Hope this is alright.)

"Thank you," Victoria politely said to the woman at the desk.

After opening the first door on her left, Victoria found herself in the presence of Eli and another woman. "Hello, are you the museum coordinator?" she asked. "I'm not too late to hear a report about what's going on around here am I? I caught a glimpse of my guildmate leaving," she explained. "I don't want to be a bother. If I did miss anything, please continue on anyway. I can get my ally here to repeat things for me." She indicated Eli. "I'm sure you'll be busy enough checking on security details."

"I'm Victora Angelbright of Blue Pegasus. Please continue talking as if I hadn't interrupted," she added with a polite bow.

Valeska West
“Go do a mission ‘e says, go play a part of the guild ‘e says! Sure the concert was nice, the time after was even better, but now? Not so much!” Valeska wasn’t too happy getting up that morning to actually begin taking part in the mission she took. She had a little too much fun last night and well...the rest isn’t hard to follow. The only reason she had even left the guildhall or her buddy Logan was because he wanted her to actually do something. “Can’t stay in the bars forever MY ASS! YOU STAY THERE TOO YA BASTARD!” She shouted to the world.

Valeska continued to angrily shuffle her way over to the place she was supposed to meet with this guy. What was his name again? She reached into her pocket and pulled out a notebook. Detective Coones, thats right, thats the guy. She looked up from her notebook to the office building before her and rolled her eyes. Government shit like this is so obvious, she’s been in and out of these a million times with blackmail. Now here she goes again, this time for a good reason...it almost made her sick.

From the outside she could already see security eyeing her through the windows. With a large exhale of smoke from her cigar she walked into the building. In an instant there they were, the security guards. “Aw what’s the matter fellas? Is it the Tommy Gun? The cigar? Or am I just too pretty to resist?”

One of the security guards stepped forward and put a hand out to stop her from moving any further into the building. “The cigar’s gonna have to go, Ma’am, and before you go any further, I shall need to see some form of ID.” He clearly wasn’t phased.

With a little sarcastic sigh Valeska gently grabbed the man’s hand and placed her cigar in it. All the while her other hand went to her shirt. Slowly she pulled the fabric down revealing both her guild tattoo and...something else. “I hope this will suffice, officer. Now please...a lady has work to do.”

The security guard’s eyes grew more than a little wide at her “ID” and his breathing quickened just a bit. He caught himself, obviously, and turned away a bit to regather himself before replying. “Go right on in, Miss.”

With a smirk Valeska released her shirt, it returning to its original position, and she continued on further into the building. Walking up to the front desk her eyes locked with a rather cute receptionist. She leaned down on the desk toward the woman. “Hey there~” She began. “I’m lookin’ for a Detective Coones. Know where I can find ‘im, sweetie?”

Looking up from her computer, the woman looked over Valeska briefly, cast a glance over towards security where the men were still recovering, and then glanced back at Valeska one more time. Chuckling a bit to herself, she answered, “If he’s still in, he should be in his office. Room 117. It’s down the hall to your right.”

“Thank ya, sweetheart.” Valeska said with a wink before moving on down the hallway. She looked at the room numbers until she found the right one. Suddenly the door opened and someone walked out. “Hey now, buy me a drink first!” Valeska joked at the situation as the two made contact.

Not quite looking up enough to see her from the note he was reading before he closed the door behind him, Detective Coones’s attention was promptly redirected when he ran into a woman walking towards his office. He heard that she’d been saying something, but couldn’t quite make out what it had been. “I’m sorry. What was that?” he asked, tucking the note he’d been reading away.

“Ah, nothin’. Are you Coones?”

“Yep. That’d be me. Can I help you with something?”

“Heard you got yo’self a thief problem.”

“Oh! Are you here to help with the mission request I put out?”

“Yep, that’d be the reason I’m ‘ere talkin’ to ya.”

“Alright. Well, there was a group of mages who met with me this morning, earlier, and I believe they’ve all headed out to investigate. I know some of them were heading to the local museum down on 1st Street so that’s probably the best place to find ‘em. I’ve gotta get a few things in order so I don’t really have time to give the details again, but they should be able to fill you in,” Detective Coones explained to her.

“No worries, the place is all I really need to get started. One could say I’m a...sort of expert in this area.” Valeska said with a wink before walking away. She made her way out of the building, giving a little wink and wave to the security guards.

It wasn’t too long before she made her way to the museum. She never took part in a museum heist before, she mainly stole off of singular individuals. At least...she used to. Goin’ straight was tough, stealing came so naturally for her, it’s what she was used to, not preventing it. Perhaps big time stealing like this wasn’t her expertise after all. Walking up closer to the building she already noticed some factors that would be difficult to get around. Nonetheless she continued on inside.

Walking in she looked around for anyone that could be a mage. Instead, she saw a desk with another receptionist. Beyond the receptionist’s desk, there were a few things of interest, but almost everything was locked behind bars. “How can I help you this morning? Are you looking to purchase tickets for our opening ceremony tomorrow night?” the receptionist asked Valeska.

With a smile Valeska walked up to the counter. “Not quite. Listen, I know I’m a little late to the party but there were some other mages that came in ‘ere? I’m supposed to be helpin’ ‘em out. Any idea where they went?”

Seeming a bit downtrodden when the newcomer wasn’t looking for tickets, the receptionist nonetheless got to her feet and said, “Right this way,” before leading Valeska into what looked like a conference room of sorts.

“Follow ya anywhere, sweetheart.”

Although it couldn’t be seen, the receptionist rolled her eyes at the comment. Opening the door, she showed Valeska in. Lo and behold, there were two other mages in the room meeting with Joanne, the museum curator. “Hopefully this is the last straggler, Joanne,” she commented to the curator before heading back to watch the desk.

Joanne had been busy greeting the second mage to walk into the little conference room at the time and she quickly glanced over to nod to her secretary. “Welcome,” Joanne greeted the last of the three she now spoke to. “I was just about to go over some of the items we keep here that someone might want to steal as well as some of the plans we have in place for security tomorrow night. This one,” she gestured towards Eli, “has been here the whole time and will fill in the rest of the details.” She didn’t really think that there were many details that she’d given yet so she wasn’t sure how much that applied, but she wanted to talk without getting interrupted so it seemed a safe detail to include.

“There actually is one item that we’re planning on displaying here at our esteemed museum that would be quite easy to steal. One of our exhibits holds some ancient jewels, thought to have been worn by some of the first rulers in all of Fiore.”

Valeska let out a whistle at the thought of jewels, and the curator gave her a rather harsh glare.

“Furthermore, we have some relics from some of the first guilds to exist in Fiore. A lot of our focus here is history, but we’re trying to include some of the more recent history as well. Not many places try to encompass as much as we’re trying. The jewels exhibit as well as the guild history details are the only two exhibits that include items that are small enough to easily get out of the building. Everything else would take more effort and be harder to notice. Security on our end will be standard as we don’t have the finances to bring in anything extra; however, Detective Coones has led me to believe that at least a few of you will be able to be here during the ceremony as well so we’re hoping that you could keep an eye on our two more at risk exhibits. The attire for the event is formal and security works an awful lot better when they blend in with the crowds. Here at the museum, we will be expecting you to do the same. Are there any questions I can answer right now?”

“Ye, I got one. Do I get ta keep the clothes?” Valeska wondered with a grin on her face.

Joanne’s eyes narrowed and she clearly wasn’t happy with Valeska at all, really. “You are expected to have your own clothes. I can direct you to the local shops so that you can purchase something to wear if you’re not prepared and then, of course, they’ll be yours since you are paying for them.”

Valeska’s face quickly morphed into a frown. “Typical.” She muttered.

After having that situation explained, Joanne’s eyes looked to the other two mages, wondering if they had any questions for her.
