So What’s This Story About?
The year is x780. Guild life goes on as it has for the past years. Members carry out their missions with excitement or boredom depending on the mission - as they usually would. Tension between Fairy Tail and Raven Tail seems to have come to a momentary calm in which the two guilds have simply agreed to avoid one another.

Current eyes watch three primary missions. Royce Obertuck - an S-Class criminal and former Raven Tail guildmaster - is being transferred to a higher security prison after multiple escape attempts; this transfer is one giant opportunity though. The question remains… who is lurking in the shadows to take advantage of it? Liam Portian - a scientist working in magic expansion - seeks to study a meteor that recently crashed. People have been disappearing near it, though. Can mages help him get his hands on it? More importantly, what else will they discover? Last, but not least, a demon book has been stolen. That’s never a good thing. Who runs with Book of Vongraw? What might they unleash and who might also seek these treasures?

These fates all draw nearer.

Something is coming, though. Can the world really expect to stay this calm when a solar eclipse - the first in centuries - hangs overhead? One thing is for sure: villains are not planning on allowing this calm to last.

Most importantly, will Fairy Tail be strong enough to face what’s coming? And will the other guilds be ready to aid them? Can the other guilds even afford not to?

Fates are eclipsing. The moon could very well darken them forever.

Fairy Tail Guild Hall

Blaise didn't exactly want to be here, especially since Bill wasn't; there wasn't anyone to talk to, to poke or tease, just the same ruffians who felt like sparring in the middle of the guild hall at three-o'-clock in the afternoon was a good idea. He hid behind a book, as he usually did, even though his interest in it was steadily dwindling as he found his eyes gazing out of the large window he sat next to, observing a large bird landed in a shallow pond, eyeing the fish swimming peacefully inside of it. With one brisk motion, it snapped the poor fish into its beak and flew off.

The brevity of life and how magic subsequently amplified it popped into his mind, but he pushed it away, not wanting to fall into the rabbit hole of existentialism that so often happened when he was left to gaze out the window and ponder things like this without accompaniment. He looked around the guild hall for someone to talk to, or something to do at least, the book in his hands one that he'd read countless times because he never seemed to have the funds to buy a new one; the missions were sparse and his pockets were emptied by other expenses like rent and food.

He ultimately gave up on trying to find someone, everyone was either occupied training in the fields or arguing vehemently over something they were very passionate about, both things that no newcomer to Fairy Tail should be surprised to see 24/7. He walked out the same pond he was staring at a few minutes ago, sitting by it. He took out one of his keys.

"Hey Fizz," The hyperactive cat spirit ignored him as he was summoned, eyes locking onto the fish and diving into the pond immediately, prompting a sigh from the lax wizard.

Sitting in her office while the morning sun glowed through, the Fairy Tail guildmaster was flipping through various news reports that had come in from Fiore. There was one news article that she kept returning to, though, and she wished it hadn’t been sitting on her desk at all. Royce was being moved and she didn’t want to be a part of it because he was her friend, but he also knew that he probably deserved it as well. The man couldn’t be contained and Astrid knew that he had to be up to something… something that no one else was seeing and that no one wanted to investigate. And she couldn’t figure it out either, which only made it frustrating.

As she mulled over those ideas and thoughts, though, there was so much more that the Fairy Tail guildmaster was up to. On her desk was a roll of thread and it was weaving in and out of itself, slowly but surely producing a fine silk-like fabric that had become a signature creation of hers. Occasionally, she even sewed it into clothing that she gave to her guildmates; right now, in fact, she was working on a belt for Bill to use to hold his keys. She’d already made one for Blaise, but they were better gifted together.

Seeing as her current project was nowhere near completion, though, Astrid had no reason to hide it yet. No one would be able to recognize what it was - not even Blaise.

To get away from the document on her desk about an old friend, Astrid headed down the stairs and promptly came to realize that many of her guild members were out on missions. If they weren’t, it would’ve certainly been far more rowdy. As it was, there were a few people bickering in the main hall and she looked at the mission board to see who was out on missions. A sigh escaped her as she saw where Bill had gone and she wished - silently - that he would’ve thought of bringing another guild member with him. It wasn’t something that could be changed now, though. The only thing she could do was make sure her guild was safe at home.

That was what she had to work on.

Knowing that Blaise would probably be somewhere, Astrid wandered and eventually came to see him through a window of the hall. She smiled thoughtfully at him and then headed out to say good morning. It wasn’t a long walk for her, and weaving threads followed her every step of the way. It wasn’t an uncommon sight.

“Good morning, Blaise! Fizz,” she greeted both the mage and the spirit in turn. “Are you enjoying the weather? It is a nice morning, I think.”

Observing the feline spirit he summoned ravage through the pond, pinning fish to its floor and trying to catch the other in its maw, Blaise felt a pang of pity for them. They're trying to swim, albeit probably without much cognition as they are just fish, and the world seems to want to torment them, even if he was the one to bring about their second persecutor.

The cat finally trudged out of the pond, shaking off the water clinging to his fur like a dog, facing Blaise. It seemed he didn't really care for eating them, thankfully, observing the fish return to their regular business of... swimming.

"Did you have fun?"

"Yeah." The spirit responded nonchalantly, now rolling around in the grass lackadaisically. Blaise was about to sigh another bored, indifferent sigh when his guild master greeted him. He tensed a little bit, unintentionally, as the naturally powerful presence occupied his. He couldn't help it; no matter how long he'd been in the guild or how many times he'd spoken with her, her presence never failed to put him a bit on edge, as if she could exile him from the guild with one false step.

"Hello, Astrid. It is a nice day," He gazed up at the sky, the weather something he'd been perpetually aware of, thanks to the numerous times he'd been staring at it during times as numb as these. He didn't let his eyes stay there though, conscious of the spirit currently on a rampage, determined to pluck as much grass and soil from the ground as possible. He wasn't making much progress. "What are you up to?" He inquired, guildmaster-y activities always interested him; it was like a kind of coveted business, which he liked to imagine entailed dealing with lost magic and S-class quests. Noticing Astrid's presence, Fizz materialized closer to the duo.

"Can you make me a ball of yarn?" The spirit asked in his usual, high-pitched, rhapsodic speech. Blaise inwardly groaned. It was times like this where he wished the cat was more obedient, and didn't ask the guildmaster of such a juvenile thing. He thought the woman was much too above to tend to a spirit's desires, especially one so rude as to not respond to her greeting.

'This time, for sure.' The boy grinned as he once again started reforming a snowy landing pad. He'd been at this for almost a week, so there was already some residual slush from yesterday's attempts to build off of. It was hard work, his beloved fairy magic, but it had to be done. How better to find fairies than with fairy magic? Not to mention all the fun to be had, and games and pranks to play!

Once he was satisfied that the landing pad was sufficient to prevent him from serious injury, he sighed. It was only meant to break his fall, but...it was missing pizaz. He flops into it on his back and starts flapping his arms, before carefully getting up, as to not disturb the pattern. He touches it up and details it with his hand. "There's always room for a snow fairy."

And with that, he walks to the center of the mass of snow, and closing his eyes. He imagined the fairy dust swirling around him, golden sparkles twinkling against the pure white snow. And so it was. He held out his hands, beckoning it to surround him. And not explode. That was one of the first things he'd learned about his magic, and it was a painful lesson. But now it obeyed him. It swirled around him, from his head to his toes, he could feel it lifting. But he needed "MORE!" He clenches his fists. He demands it. He doesn't have wings. He has to do it this way. It's the best he can do. He lets out a low whine as he begins to sweat.

This is why he'd been practicing lifting all those weights, and anything heavy he could get his hands on. This is what all of his work was for. If he couldn't do something as meager as this, he should have never joined Fairy Tail. He'd never reach where he needed to go. The dust swirls more violently, and slowly...quite slowly... his feet begin to lift from the ground. One foot, two feet, three feet, four. He slowly begins to grin, as he wobbles there. This was the progress he was looking for. Maybe not today. Maybe not soon...but one day. One day h-"Ahhaaaaa!" His balance doesn't hold, and he flips head over heels in the air, plummeting into the snow bank head first.

"....Owww...." He stumbles to his feet, seeing stars and shaking the snow from himself. He was gonna have a killer headache. But he didn't care. "I'm so close. So close!" He pumps both fists happily, a beaming smile upon his face.

The tall, dark skinned young woman smiled around her chocolate flavored ice cream cone. Nikkia was walking through Magnolia, headed back to the guild hall. Her mind was on the weather, for the most part, enjoying the nice day so far. She hadn't the ambition or motivation to go out on a job, and thus had yet to check the board for open requests. Maybe that'd happen later. For the time being, she was content to eat ice cream and discover what antics her family of guildmates was up to. She was new to the guild, as of five months ago, but she already enjoyed being with them.

The guild hall was always an impressive sight no matter how many times she saw it. Proud and a very welcoming place. Nikkie was going to go inside when she opted to see who all was outside instead. It was too nice a morning to hide in the guild hall anyway. She noticed Astrid and Blaise having a conversation,
but didn't go to join them. A different guildmate caught her eye. The small boy she'd come to recognize as Herne was over by a pile of snow. That had to be magic because it was not a snowy season. She walked over and stood off out of the way, working at her ice cream as she watched.

The boy lifted into the air slowly till he was hovering about four feet in the air. She was amazed by Herne's attempt to fly, even though it ended badly for the boy. Flying was something she could never even dream of accomplishing. She would have clapped, but her nearly finished ice cream cone stopped her from doing so.

"That was amazing!" Nikkie exclaimed, walking over to stand in front of the shorter male with a friendly smile. "Are you okay though?" She added on, talking normally now.

"It was pretty good, huh?" The boy grinned, shaking the snow from himself as he woozily stood. "I took a little bump to the head but it's not big deal, haha. Fairies don't break easily." He throws out both of his hands, flinging a bit of fairy dust that glitters, and then pops like little fire-crackers. "Tad-ah! You always have to end a trick with a little flair!" He leans down to scoop some snow into his hands, and starts packing it into a snowball, grinning a bit deviously. "You know where this is going, don't you? We're going to have an-Ice time."

As she’d walked over to some of the members of her guild, Astrid had taken a moment to silently observe the free nature of Fizz the cat spirit because it was always pleasant to see someone having fun around the guild hall. Oddly enough, it wasn’t something that happened as often as she would’ve liked it to despite her putting in her best efforts as guildmaster to make it possible. The only thing that would’ve made the situation better in her eyes would’ve been Blaise not looking quite so bored with himself. That was actually most of the reason why she walked up to say hello. Conversation tended to cure boredom, at least for a little while.

“It certainly looked like Fizz was having fun to me,” she commented with a chuckle. “I daresay he’d have a blast if we had a barn full of mice somewhere in the area.” Unfortunately, Magnolia was far more city than country so that wasn’t the case, but it was an amusing image in her mind and she hoped it might be amusing to Blaise as well… or at least to fizz.

Blaise’s question wasn’t an unusual one at all and it was one Astrid was fully prepared to contemplate an answer for. However, before she could figure out the right words for it, Fizz walked up to her and she laughed at the cat’s question. “Of course, fizz,” she contentedly obliged.

Twirling her fingers together in a rather entrancing manner, yarn began to form between the tips of her nails and Astrid expertly spun it into a small woven ball that would make the most amusing cat toy indeed. It really didn’t take long to form at all and once it was complete, she let it fall and roll for the cat to pursue.

Then her attention could return to Blaise. “Hmm… what am I up to?” she repeated his question while thinking it through. “I suppose I am up to the same thing that I’m always up to. I’m concerned for my guild and for my friends as always. Some of our friends are out on some pretty significant quests right now. Reading through the paper this morning, I realized I have more friends in danger than I originally thought. And then I look around and see how few are still here and wonder what is keeping them busy.” She wasn’t sure if that was actually an answer or not, but it was what she gave him to work with.

Note: I’m so terribly sorry it took me so long to reply. Like… that was awful of me. I lost Astrid for what felt like the longest time and it seemed like a good idea to try and find her character in my head again.

"Wowza! Your magic is really pretty!" Nikkie exclaimed, back to talking quite loudly out of excitement. She'd finished her ice cream just in the nick of time it seemed. "Of course I know where this is going. Who wouldn't?" She quipped back at Herne as she stepped into the snow bank with him. She scooped a bit of snow herself packing it carefully while keeping an eye on the shorter boy who would soon be her opponent of sorts.

Soon enough she had a snowball packed and ready to go. Nikkie wasn't one to take advantage of a first strike, so she waited and watched Herne, tossing the snowball up and down with one hand. Her face had a grin planted on it, and it was fairly obvious that she was having fun even just being around her guildmate. "Bring it on!"
