Sounds good! I've taken a break at book 5 because I felt it was a slow read so I'm currently rereading ACOTAR for the moment so soon we'll likely be on the same TOG knowledge level

It’s funny you say that because I nearly took a break before starting this book omg!! I nearly bought a ACOTAR box set just because it was so pretty and now I’m extra tempted

"Book hangover" I am SO GLAD there is a term for this lmao. I was going to go straight to it after I finished ASOIAF, but I thought that would be too much court and political drama for one year! I really love the world building and lore element of TOG, which is why I feel it will make such a good roleplay setting. The girl who reccomended it to me said the very same thing, and I felt 1-2 was a bit of a crawl at times but it certainly picked up in 3.

Maybe my one irk is that I'm not a massive fan of Celeana, but I'm learning to like her a bit more as goes through the motions and gains a bit more depth. To me, she came across as very Mary-Sue in the first few books. For all her lethality, wit and beauty, she lacked flaws. Then for all the stuff she'd been through she seriously lacked complexity. I genuinely rolled my eyes when it came out that she was the Lost Heir, but seeing her start the next book being a drunken and sad street bum made me like her a teeny bit more lmao

That's why I've been brainstorming a plot where maybe she doesn't return from Wendlyn. As much as I'd enjoy writing as her or having her involved in a plot, it'd be nice to see some other characters step up and be more useful! Hell, I'd even like to see more from Kaltain. But because the whole arc is carried on her shoulders, it'd be fun to see how the others would pick it up, and continue to try and save the world if she were lost, lead astray, or simply chose not to run.
