spring blossoms into summer, leaving anyone enrolled in academics to their own devices. partners are abandoned in favor of temporary gems, and the glitter of nightlife sparkles once more. hometowns are politely returned to, only to raise hell. you return to the place you once called home, the heart of your childhood, only to find exactly what you weren't looking for: another soul whose clash with yours raises the hair on the back of your neck and electrifies your nerve endings.

while their closest friends have left for the semester, yc has opted for humid, time-consuming summer classes, staying on campus for the season. as a term to their scholarship, yc needs to complete one semester outside of the tradition two semester school year. on the opposite end of the spectrum, mc has spent the entire spring semester dicking around, producing music, and failing two of her general education credits. however, mc has taken the need for summer classes in stride, especially as they tick off her mother, who hoped the season away from academics would put mc back in her clutches. of course, this time on a practically abandoned campus will force our babes together, making a sticky situation especially due to their already-established distaste for each other. the summer poses a threat to both, with nights spent dragging yc to a concert mc is opening for and days pestering one another and trying desperately to get yc to skip with mc.

The sun kisses the moon as they pass each other, going from day into night, and the music won't stop. How did you end up three states over, so far away from home, and on the back of their bike? You blink twice, and you're on a stage, a dinky one in a little dive you stopped at for a bit of rest, but you make more in tips than you ever thought possible. People clap so loud, but is it just the fact that you've never been the one applauded before? It doesn't matter though. Nothing except the eyes that watch you from the bar, smiling jubilantly.

  • important info: preferably takes place sometime in the 1970s-1980s. There are two plots that differ slights depending on which character I play.
  • characters: SONGBIRD is dissatisfied with their life, unsure why they're going to university, especially when their heart is set on music. SECOND HAND NEWS is in similar straits, unsure what they're doing besides floating, lost to the sea of thought and just trying to make it from one town to the next. I would prefer to play SECOND HAND NEWS, using SANTO or JUPITER.
  • genre: roadtrip film; slice of life
  • plot: SONGBIRD is thinking about splitting town and following their favorite band, who is set to play in the city nearby. Hollow from the desire to be up on that stage, their eyes meet another across the crowd. SECOND HAND NEWS, as JUPITER, has just robbed a grocery store, is here to lose the police, and needs to get out of dodge quick. The pair meet, it is fate, and they decide to follow the band, let SONGBIRD pursue their art, while also avoiding SECOND HAND's criminal fate. With SECOND HAND NEWS as SANTO, they are there to see their favorite band after being unsuccessful at scalping his tickets at the door. He's been on the road for months and his funds have run out.

Inside their sleeve is a map of the palace's first floor and a note that La RΓ©sistance can plan on meeting them again at the next masquerade ball. But across the room, another watches them with hawkish eyes and a heart overflowing with feeling. It's so easy to get distracted when in the midst of so much finery. It is easy to forget the cost a meal when you behold a jewel...

  • important info: there are TWO options for plot: THE ELECTION and THE REVOLT. However, both have the same general information.
  • characters: L'HUIT DE COPAS is in line for the throne. LES TROIS DE ESPADAS has plans to lead the proletariate to the palace gates, to democracy, to freedom. They are both childhood friends.
  • genre: could either low fantasy, low dystopia (have a TON of ideas on how to do this) or historical drama
THE ELECTION β€”
  • plot: L'HUIT DE COPAS is the adopted child of the current monarchy, serving as prince/ss to the throne, and the time has come to continue the tradition of selecting a spouse from a pool of citizens. LES TROIS DE ESPADAS is one such contestant, having rigged their placement so they can get much-needed intelligence for La RΓ©sistance De Oros. L'HUIT doesn't realize at first who LES TROIS is, given how many years it has been and how much they've done to forget the life they once had on the streets or in the orphanage. However, once they figure out what is so strangely familiar about LES TROIS, they will confront them, and LES TROIS will beg them to keep their secret, lying about the real reason why they are competing.
THE REVOLT β€”
  • plot: L'HUIT DE COPAS is the fiancΓ© of the prince/ss. They will one day rule on the throne beside their partner. LES TROIS DE ESPADAS is a newly-hired guard, there to get much-needed intelligence for La RΓ©sistance De Oros. Quickly, L'HUIT recognizes them, and they begin a friendship. Even quicker, that friendship develops into something more. Perhaps they were more than friends in their youth? Perhaps something was left unrequited?

I am seeking a 1x1 partner who would like to write something similiar. Potential pairings and plots: members of rival organized crime families who happened to meet each other in the unlikeliest of places (ex. on a plane), a restaurant waiter and a famous actor who was their childhood friend, a character who needs to get out of town and a motorcyclist who wants nothing more than to blow this podunk town,

It is strangely cold for this time of season, and all across the county, citizens have remarked that something is different. It isn't the over-inflated egoes of the Ivy League students of Enfield Academy or the sulleness that invades the bones of every recent high school grad, either chuffing off to community college or pulling a double at the saw mill. However you slice it, the summer was filled with frenetic passion, like all the young adults who come to the town for a cheap vacation before school starts knew something the adults don't. Now, this fall is different β€” as though something is sapping all the town's energy. The lights flicker at night. Even the river runs a little less rapidly. Overall, it's just odd...

  • important info: requires doubling or at least the ability to play multiple npcs. takes heavy inspiration from the Raven Cycle series but aims to age the characters up.
  • genre: magical-realism
  • characters: KING OF CUPS is the leader of a group of rabble-rousing Enfield students. THREE OF SWORDS is the only child of a house of psychic women. KING OF SWORDS is a troubled trouble-making who's about to flop out of Enfield. Meanwhile, PAGE OF CUPS is determined to keep their scholarship, despite everything. And of course... there will be others! These character archetypes also don't have to be filled.
  • plot: Much like the source material, our characters' lives will become interconnected as KING OF CUPS and their friends pursue a long-lost artifact and THREE OF SWORDS discovers one of the members of the group will be dead before the year's end. The specifics from there can be figured out together, but ley lines, greywarrens, magical forests, and the use of tarot and other methods of divination are key aspects to the plot I have in mind.

  • important info: this plot requires collaborative world building, though the basics are: 1) humans have colonized several planets throughout the galaxy, though the Jupiter moon Io is where most of the plots will take place. 2) definitely would like to take some Dune inspo in terms of the general government structures and the role that party politics plays in the plot. Additionally, you would be right to notice some similarities between this plot and Dogs of War lol!
  • characters: JUNO, who is from a powerful House. VENUS who is not.
  • genre: high sci-fi with some fantasy elements.
  • plot: JUNO's House began a new terraformation project on another planet/moon/galaxy. The project is risky, both financially and in terms of power. Thus, JUNO has been called upon for marriage with other Houses invited to court them. VENUS is one such suitor, albeit perhaps against their will. Super open to the interpretation of things here, along with the idea that VENUS is not actually a House member and is instead a rebel or perhaps a bounty hunter of some kind. I envision there is some hostility between them, especially because they're in an arranged marriage, but come to care for each other.

They are both at university to study the logic of games and computer programming when they come together to create a video game over the course of a fateful summer.
