Multiple Settings 1x1 Original Plots with Multiple Characters

Hey folks! I’ve been craving a plot where multiple characters are involved for some time now. I finally collected a few plots I had written down, as well as a few more I needed to put into words. Most of them are incredibly open ended because I want to do some planning with any future partners, but for them all, I have a few ideas. Some of the ideas I share with the plot, some I’ll get into more with interest. I’ll probably say this a lot throughout, but these plots require us both writing for at least two characters, if not more. NPC too, but of course, to a lesser extent.   Hey! Thanks for popping in. Before I got started, I figured I’d include a little about myself.
  
  - I’m 18+ and I operate very loosely on EST (typically like Noon - 2 am).
  - I’m in college right now (on break for the summer) so I won’t be busy for a few months aside from maybe a small week vacation. Even then, I’ll try and respond once a week
  - I’ve been roleplaying for 7 or so years now. I’ve only been on this site since quarantine, and I’m still not 100% used to the layout, so please bare with me.
  - I usually prefer M// or F// shippings, but I’m not opposed to M/NB, F/NB, NB// or M/F. I tend to write more male characters, but this isn’t exactly a rule or anything. Romance is rarely required (unless it’s clearly a romance plot, obviously), but I sure am a sucker for it.
  - Very ghost friendly! If you ever want to pick up a roleplay 7-8 months later, I’m all for it! Take your You Time, you deserve it. I’m also bad about leaving and then randomly responding or coming back and asking about it. I’ll typically eventually come back though, I just have to work my way back to it. Please bare with me, again.
  - I’m not the best at coding/layout/aesthetics, mostly because I’m just now learning it, but I’m also just very unorganized in general. If this is non-negotiable to my future writing partner, I’ll work on it.
  - I tend to write about 2-4 decent sized paragraphs per focus character. I’ll reflect what my partner is writing, whether that is more or less, to the best of my ability. I use past tense third person.
  - I REALLY enjoy having more than just one character per partner in each roleplay (my plots probably show that off). I love creating characters, working on their interactions and slowly developing them in each plot. As you will be able to tell by my plots, I’m not really craving one-on-one’s right now.
  - For roleplaying, I’m on discord the most so you’re most likely to catch me there. However, I will write in PMs here as well.

  What I’m looking for in a writing partner is:
  - Someone preferably 18+, especially for darker plots and themes.
  - Mutual respect. I’m usually okay with whatever, but if I’m not, please don’t push me. If anything makes you uncomfortable, please tell me and I will avoid the subject
  - Someone comfortable with roleplaying multiple characters. For these particular plots, most of them will require you to do at least two separate characters, if not more, along with one or two NPC here and there.
  - OOC chatter for planning, memes, music, etc. I love chatting and being nerds about everything, but if that isn’t your thing, I understand! The only thing I ask is that you are there for planning when necessary.
  - The usual, no over powered characters, that’s just boring.
  - Someone willing to write a decent sized paragraph or more most of the time. If you’re not feeling the roleplay that much, I understand and won’t come after you for a sentence or two, especially if they leave room for response too. (NOTE: If things get boring, please let me know and I’ll try and help work towards something more interesting!) Just something to work with is all I ask, really.
  - Third person past tense, please!

  Now, for the good stuff! So, as stated previously, most of these plots will require us both to play multiple characters. Some of them will require a good amount of world building, but I have plenty of ideas for all of them to get us going. The exact amount of characters really depends on what we decide for most of them. I’ll also create an entirely new plot with you if you think we’d mesh really well or want to combine some ideas from a plot here and there that are listed below. Again, most of these are not fully formed, but that’s to leave room for us to figure things out together.
  
  Superhero Plots
  
  — Government Enemy. (Partly spy)
  So about maybe 15% of the world population suddenly finds themselves with powers. Most of these powers are not visible to the eye, or at least can be hidden. Of course, non-powered people feel threatened. Instead of the powered individuals running from the government or directly fighting against, somehow most of them collectively decide to remain in hiding, but take a different course of action. Using their abilities, both of human and more, they are able to infiltrate the government hunting them down. What they find, what they do, is up to debate. Hey, the powered people could be good or bad, depending on what we decide. For this plot, we’d probably focus on one particular office of government. The main characters would be split between powered and no powers, spies and government assets. Maybe some people without powers are sympathetic and help, maybe not. Maybe there’s a McCarthy Era type stuff with a person who thinks somethings up and starts trying to catch the spies. All sorts of up for debate.
  
  — *More Than One Type of Power
  So, for this, there’s a group (at least one, smaller ones could be mentioned/NPC type thing every now and then) of powered individuals who protect the planet. This could either be a private group, separate from the government, or one that is attached. Either way, they influence every day life and have an incredible amount of pull in the world. Well one, or some, want more power than they have. Others don’t. I have some ideas kind of based on things like The Boys and Jupiter’s Legacy, but I actually feel like this is the one plot where designing the characters first would really decide the exact way this plot could go.
  
  Sci-Fi Plots
  
  — Diplomat in Space.
  So, for this one, my overall plan is a space federation reaches out to a planet for maybe like two life times or so. They send them supplies, help them along on innovations, and stuff like that, real nice guys, right? Finally, talks start of the new planet joining the union in space. Part of this program includes bringing a few planet dwellers on their ships with them for a set period of time, just to see what problems could occur. The problems described at the start of things are issues of diet, cultural conflicts, facilities issues, etc. However, when the newcomer(s) arrive, the planet union is not what it seems. Some planets are welcomed as honorary guests, others... aren’t so lucky. For this roleplay, we’d need one or more planet people along with some crew members. I feel like more planet people than just one would be neat, cause then they might have different reactions to finding out the union isn’t exactly great. Romance is 100% optional in this. Themes will probably be darker. The new planet could be earth, or not. I actually thought about maybe Earth being one of the original founders of the federation, since I’m kind of sick of humans always being the good guys in sci-fi. Lot of stuff up to change.
  
  
  — Arctic (Test) Monkeys
  In a race to solve the worsening climate change across the world, scientists found a quick fix which may be more trouble than its worth. Instead of letting the seas wash into cities, they have found a way to put the world in a semi-permanent freeze. But can the majority of the world handle this extended cold? Or is this just bringing the end date closer up? To figure this out, scientist across the world select citizens at random from several nations. They are each to be housed in conditions hypothetically similar to the conditions they may run into. There are several test groups, but this roleplay will focus on one. Test groups can consist of small communities of close housing units, or one or two housing units distanced from each other, in an attempt to represent several types of communities. Will the test subjects make it, proving this to be a decent fix, or will they fail and send scientists back to the drawing board?
  
  — * It’s A Mistake
  On an away mission to unexplored space, a crew member of a small starship makes an irreversible mistake. This mess up, intentional or not, takes the life of several essential crew mates. Now, too far into space for any help, the remaining crew must find a way to survive. At launch, the crew consisted of a pilot, a commander, an engineer, a medic, a combatant, a scientist and a supplier/nutritionist. We can decide who survived and who plays what characters when we plan. I’m thinking 4/7 survive, if even that, but it doesn’t necessarily matter who. The intentional or not part leaves room for a villain, but either way, there will definitely be questions on who caused the mistake.
  
  — Outpost 62: Sector 3
  A handful of talented individuals have been selected to continue the outpost program in Sector 3. An established living space is provided, and the planet is relatively stable and reliable for life supports. This would be an optimal posting, if they weren’t part of the fifth group to be posted there in a year’s time. The crew must survive and prosper on the planet’s surface. Not only this, they must also find out what happened to the other crew members, and prevent it from happening to them. I have some ideas for what caused this. I’d also like to add in some corruption that I can discuss further.
  
  Western Plots
  
  — Stranger (slight horror possible)
  A mysterious individual roles into a small town, offering an unusual service. Revival of the dead and long since buried. At first, no one believes them, but as the stranger pulls out of town, defeated, they accidentally hits a dog. Using their abilities, the dog regains full health, and the town is now stuck in debate. Is this real? For this, A LOT could happen:
  - Stranger is real deal and brings back people, but maybe they don’t come back right, or maybe the stranger is cast out under witchcraft claims. Maybe the stranger has some control over the returned and uses them
  - Stranger is a fake, or, at least they think they are, right? There’s no way that potion works, right? No way that chant they read off the old monument was real. Not a chance that the artifact they bought as a gag actually has special abilities. Yet, here they are, everyone’s great-great-grandparents and the dead sheriff up and walking about. Maybe a Pet Cemetery thing they didn’t know about, but accidentally triggered, something like that.
  - Stranger is a fake, and it’s all a hoax. Maybe they catch the stranger, maybe they don’t but it causes conflict in the small town. Maybe the stranger takes all their money with their trick and something hits the town where the people need that money back. Maybe the stranger clean rides out of town and the hoax continues, meaning it’s someone else all along (I have two ideas for this, but I won’t go into it unless someone wants to hear about it specifically)
  
  Any way it goes, this will possibly have the undead, either 100% fine or not, or a great hoax. The stranger could have an accomplice, and we’d each play a few towns people, probably one or two main ones and a few reoccurring, lesser characters. LOTS of wiggle room here.
  
  — *Something in Them There Fields (part horror)
  In a quiet town, a place where few conflicts ever start, let alone crimes, people start disappearing. They head just outside a town, and are never seen again. Some people say somethings calling out to the people that disappear. Some say there’s a shifty, traveling salesman selling something just outside town that is so unsafe, the people never come home. Some say it’s someone out there causing the issues. Any of these reasons could be what it is in the roleplay, we’d decide. Could be UFOs even, who knows. Got a few ideas on this one, but its
  
  Mythology Plot
  
  This one is the most un-formed plot. Basically, I would like to create a new group of gods, have their relations and reactions, stuff like that. I have a few ideas for the gods like positions. Few examples of loose ideas: Cave God was once the main god of human prayer, as humans believed they came directly from the cave. Overtime, they saw the sea as more important, as they are now a sea traveling people, and the Sea God has grown more powerful. Sun God and Sea God actually are at odds with each other, as the Sea and Moon are partners, and the Sun both takes from the sea (evaporation) but also keeps them from the Moon for a duration of time. I would love to work with someone to create more lore and stuff and kind of work to make a conflict, maybe the usual gods fighting against each other, or maybe a god screws up and accidentally creates a threat for the gods.

I'm 26, and I can handle dark plots, don't worry. I once did a world-end kind of RP where the eldritch cosmic horrors just wrecked everything to oblivion.

I have one main guy (my avatar here, named Jin) and his team of 6 mercenaries, the C.O.N.T.R.A., you'll probably like them

- OOC chatter for planning, memes, music, etc. I love chatting and being nerds about everything, but if that isn’t your thing, I understand! The only thing I ask is that you are there for planning when necessary.

I hope I don't end up bothering you too much with how talkative I can get.

I consider myself somewhat decent at this, so no worries.

This... is what I'm concerned about. My english is fairly limited and I much prefer present tense, it's the easiest for me to work with. And, even then I may misread or miss something (especially when there's a lot of texts), and bad things happen to good people because of that.
