Futuristic The Children of Eden || Monsters & Mechs

The way this rp is focused is that each mech has two operators, a pilot, in charge of movement and melee, and navigator, in charge of support systems and ranged.

But the mech I have in mind is a single seater, but I can edit it to make it co-pilot friendly

I think the point of this rp is to have a more coroprative tone to it, which may involve two people making a mech together. Though i would have no doubt someone will be willing to tag along on your mech.

Though I’d ask the mod and read the first post again.

Also I can help with certain ideas for this role play, I did have a somewhat successful mech based role play a couple years ago

Your pic tells me your a fan of Warcraft... Or is that Warhammer?

Warhammer 40k, though I’d prefer warhammer fantasy if it didn’t die.

Either way, I’d read the main post again to get a better feel for it.

There won't be any single seaters and a mostly ranged focused mech wouldn't work out because of how I envision the pilot and navigator duties
Though they could certainly be equipped with a longer range melee weapon like a lance or spear
Maybe even a chain

For the idea of a control with what the pilot does, maybe a psychokinetic connection? Almost like a partial-dive system, to where they could move their mech's body and still have some controls involving their normal bodies.

Yes, this plays into the compatibility factor I wanted
So the mech wouldn't even move if the pilot doesn't have that connection with it
I think this is good!

Yennie Yennie Here's an idea, what if you made a conversation of just navigators, and then feed them information as, let's say, a battle progresses?

I had that in mind actually :)
Because they go into combat as a squad the navigators will constantly be in contact with one another, making sure each one is up to date on everything
They watch each other's backs and make sure they all stay safe during battle

As for your idea of changing locations I'm thinking our characters will start out at one facility but once they are deemed combat ready they can be deployed anywhere in the world
There are major stations to accommodate the mech squads all over the world so they'd be often traveling as you never know where the attacks will occur
Sometimes they'll be fighting one or two monsters, sometimes hoards as well

Could I play a mech developer? Like a researcher/engineer/inventor/scientist that works on developing mechas and their technology and all that. Naturally this would also mean I would help in creating the lore regarding mechas I you'd like :)

Awwww I was hoping to use the THOR mech from statecraft 2

As much as I like the idea I'm unsure how much interaction a character like that would actually get
Perhaps they could be a mech developer as well as one of the handlers for the children?
They'd be surveying the battlefield from a far, in contact with the squad and providing informational support
Outside of combat they are like a glorified baby sitter lol
Probably not what you want but would give you more opportunities to roleplay

Either way you are more than welcome to develop the lore regarding mechas regardless of what you play

I mean most of my interactions would be other people getting repairs, upgrades and info about their mechs. Trade deals, interviewing new pilots for data, among other things... That said if the idea is a no go, then I won't bug you about it. I probably won't join either though as that idea wouldn't kind of be the only thing I would want. If I can't have it as I envision it then it wouldn't be worth it.

That said, I wish you luck with the RP nonetheless!

I don't have a problem with it if you think you can make it work

So this may be a bit of an odd question but, what percentage of the rp do you figure would be set in and out of the mech's themselves?

I believe that will be decided more once we get a solid group going to see what people are more interested
But at least a good 40% will be battling for now

When we’d getting a character sheet?

I'm not too good with character sheets, I think I'll use a basic template lol
But feel free to work on your character basics such as appearance, personality and a bit of history (probably can't fully write that until we get more lore sorted out)

I guess on second thought it DOES depend on what access others will have to those things without me (new technology, mech customization, etc...). It's like, it's not hard someone to interact with a mechanic if their car is broken, but they won't speak unless the car is broken. Which in this case is nobody will likely speak with the character I have in mind unless they need me to work on their mechs (not as a pilot, but in their development and upgrading, repairing, that kinda stuff)

Alrighty. Now for a follow-up question, which aspects would the mech's be looked at as? Or in other words what are the main things that can change to make one mech a tanky one and another a speedy one.

How about a stealth mech? One that is agile with cloaking devices, emps and shit. Like it gets really close and then tries to take out its target with oneshot which also leaves it vulnureable.
