William smiled at Mackenzie as she approached, returning her kiss. He nodded as she sat down. "Everything's fine... as much as can be expected anyway," he said. A calloused hand slid across the table to rest over top of hers, rubbing the top of her fingers gently. "How did things go with Clay and Leech?"

When their course diverted around the camp instead of through Chase was shaking his head internally. While there had been a time he himself had preferred this, he'd grown more accustomed to entering normally. So when Emile was the one to take the back route instead he was onto the Alpha, but followed after all the same. Arriving just behind Emile he watched as the man walked towards the front having shifted, only to return half-clothed and holding Chase's clothes.

Once shifted he scooped up his clothing from the steps, smiling at the other man as he quickly slipped them on. "Look at you, being all gentlemanly." Chase mused, not lost on the gesture of having his clothes brought to him so that he could change with more privacy. He highly doubted full on nudity around the pack would be ever something he could get used to, covering himself even if with only his hand had become the usual for him and he only shifted back to human form with others when necessary.

"You know, I'm not sure I've never had a guy help me put clothes on more often than he helped me take them off." He chuckled, leaning sideways against the back stairs arm rail. "But maybe that just means none of them were Gentleman after-all." He shrugged with a small smirk that faded as he briefly wondered if that said more about him than them in a suddenly small out of body experience before letting it go and moving on. "Did you get what you wanted from the scouting? Other than my impromptu conversation with the strange man in the woods."

Mackenzie shrugged idly as Will questioned her tour for the morning. "Well enough, I guess." She frowned slightly, emerald eye watching his for a quiet moment before she spoke again, almost nervously. "I feel like I'm missing something, some really obvious." She gave his hand a squeeze, concerned. "They didn't touch the traps, Will. Left every single one of them out there unmarred, still active. It's almost like they aren't coming tonight, like... Like I"m wrong about this." She raised her free hand to rub at her temple, shaking her head. "But even Chase confirmed this was going to happen, right?" She was at a loss, so many things pointed to her assumption being correct, but she had a creepy feeling edging over her; she felt it in her bones -no matter how much they prepared, something horribly wrong was about to happen.

Emile smirked at Chase's comments, the first calling him a gentlemen brought a chuckle to his lips. The second made him pause a moment as he recounted the words again through his head to make sure he had understood what Chase had been implying, he pulled his shirt over his head and turned to glance at the younger man to see he was at least half dressed now. He padded barefoot across the lawn to come up to the younger man, sliding his hands around his waist as Chase pulled his own shirt over his head. Once he his head was through Emile brought his lips down to gently kiss along Chase's neck, trailing a soft line to his ear where he spoke gruffly. "We can change this." he promised only half joking. He knew tonight would be a final deciding factor for where Chase and his relationship would go. Emile and the pack had a lot to prove to the young wolf and hunter in their midst and he had no plans of failing on his promises.

He finished by pressing a soft kiss to Chase's lips just after he questioned if the scout had yielded the results he wanted and he gave a slight shrug, though didn't move away from Chase, letting his hands gently caress at his boyfriends sides. "That man is a fool." He stated simply. "He do not speak for colony, the council do not listen to anyone." He regarded the young man before him carefully, wondering if he would actually tell him what had drawn his thoughts earlier. "I do not like seeing her out making more trap." He stated, commenting on Mac and the vampires that followed. "But Francois promise he has plan."

William frowned at Mackenzie's tone, bringing up his other hand to envelop the one he already held. "Hey," he said gently. "It doesn't mean anything. Maybe they're afraid of us capturing one of their scouts -- or they're just mapping the positions instead of risking them being disarmed to be replaced by a new one they don't know about." He rubbed his thumb along the top of her knuckles, raising her hand up to bring it to his lips, kissing it softly. "We have to trust Chase. We have to trust ourselves. We've done what we can to prepare."

He sighed deeply, clearing his throat. He hesitated for a moment, wondering if he should call the whole reason off for having her meet him. Closing his eyes, he forced himself to speak. "Which is why I wanted to see you... before tonight."

If the other man was trying to win him over with affection...well, let's just say it was working. Chase chuckled lightly at Emile's suggestion, not entirely sure if the man was joking or not. It was sort of the silent agreement they'd made that the relationship wouldn't go any further until after tonight, but Chase trusted Emile and that agreement had waned. "Jealous? I'm sure you'll catch up in no time." The kiss that followed had Chase reaching his left hand up to the side of Emile's neck, fingers trailing the back end of it as the two shared a moment of locked lips. Once they released but still stayed attached through their hands he looked at the Alpha carefully. "I'm not going to argue that he was a fool but he was trying to do what he thought was right." Chase's head bobbed t the side as he gave a gentle shrug followed up with a faint smile, "I was a fool when I first came out here. If it had been any other pack and any other Alpha I'd probably be dead, but I thought I was doing the right thing."

The conversation moved onto Mac and Chase let out a small sigh, giving the side of Emile's neck a gentle squeeze. "Don't worry about her. If it comes down to it I know a bubbly blonde and a former soldier who can handle her...I just have to hope they'll listen to reason."

Mackenzie nodded slowly as Will attempted to reassure her, to calm her nerves. She smiled faintly, returning a gentle squeeze to his hands; she understood the meaning behind it; his want for her to feel better, but she knew this feeling well. Any and every time she was near the pack it had gone sideways on her. No matter how she planned for the worst something even more terrible managed to sneak its way in. She felt like she could face down any number of horrible things in the night, things that would make others run in fear, but when it came to the pack -her family, she knew it was her Achilles heel. Her smile faded as his tone became more serious and she watched him carefully. "What's wrong?"

Emile smirked as Chase asked if he were jealous -it wasn't the first time the younger wolf had suggested such a thing, and Emile knew very well it wouldn't be the last time heard it either. Despite knowing their time would come to change, for the good or the bad, after this evening, Emile had honestly enjoyed the simplicity of their time spent together. He cared for Chase, for more than he first though he ever would. Chase had been intriguing at the start, a fresh face and a fresh view of the world around them but since the first day they had met he had grown on him and in his heart. He chuckled softly as he noted that he had once been a fool. "You still are a fool." He corrected playfully, but let the man go on.

He sighed softly as Chase spoke on his friends handling the Oracle, the wolf killer, and honestly the most annoying hunter he had ever come across in his life time. She was entirely unreasonable and while he could understand why Malcolm, Brody and Douglas insisted on keep tabs on her and trying to catch her, if it hadn't been for them he would have simply tried to kill her off long ago. It certainly would have made his and his packs lives a whole lot simpler. "I trust you," He said simply, Chase didn't seem concerned with the tiny hunter and Emile had grown to trust and listen to Chase's opinions over their time together.

William opened his eyes, holding them on Mackenzie's as she asked him what was wrong, clearly concerned by his tone. He simply smiled. "Nothing. Everything's perfect, because I'm with you," he said, squeezing her hand tightly. "I love you, Mackenzie Cannonach. More than anything. You've changed me for the better -- brought me more happiness than I could have ever asked or hoped for. You make me whole," he said, his voice straining with emotion. Slowly, he withdrew his hands from her own, leaning back in his seat.

"I don't know what's going to happen tonight. I do know that there's nowhere I'd rather be than by your side." He smiled, slowly. "There's something I need to do first, though." He stood from his chair, reaching into his pocket and removing a small, simple lacquered wooden box. Kneeling down alongside the table, he presented the container to her -- like an offering to a goddess, opening it up. Inside sat a small ring: smelted from bright, shimmering silver along both outer edges, with a smoky black & gray band of wrought iron filling the center line. Inset in the top was a modest albeit shimmering emerald -- Mackenzie's birthstone, but nowhere near as beautiful as her eyes in his mind.

Will steeled himself, speaking slowly. "Mackenzie Cannonach, will you marry me?"

Chase scoffed in amusement and fake chuckled at being called a fool even still. He was plotting revenge when Emile's next words took his attention away from it momentarily. Meeting his gaze, it meant a lot to hear the words considering just how hard he'd lost the trust to begin with. "I trust you too, and I don't plan to lose yours again." It was a rather serious moment, which was why Chase had to break off from it as he grew uncomfortable. His hand slipping down from Emile's neck and jabbing at the mans side in the soft spot under his ribs with two fingers in a form of rough play. Simultaneously he slipped from the mans grasp, giving a small berth of room out of Emile's reach so he couldn't be retaliated against.

A grin on his face as he paused on the bottom step, looking back at the other man. "Only a fool let's his guard down." With that he continued on up through the back door of the cabin, moving to grab his phone which had been left on the couch. No missed calls or messages told him that even the day of none of those at Vitae seemed interested in making contact for any reason. Though Ashley had been the only one to call in the last two weeks, checking in rather than looking for info which was a breath of fresh hair if he was going to be honest. As much as Chase enjoyed the pack and Emile...it's all he'd had for the last few weeks and it was a bit much for the Wolf who wasn't used to the lifestyle, so to have her to speak to on a few occasions had been nice. Dropping the phone back down onto the cushion he stepped back towards the kitchen and poured himself a cup of water.

Once more, as though he had always been there, Jordan just appeared in the middle of the Pack's camp. He calmly took a long, methodical sip of tea before setting the cup down on the table beside him, alerting most of the wolves to his presence. Jordan's eyes were closed and the slightest hint of a mischievous smile graced his lips. He said no words nor made a movement, the lack of animation seemed to punctuate his undeniable presence.

Jordan of course was merely waiting for a figure of authority to address him, he might be a rude intruder but he was by no means so uncouth as to demand an audience or to bring his very troubled daughter and tumultuous right hand to such a place. That last thing he needed was a sharp tongue or thinly veiled hostility to spark an unnecessary war. It was very Kitsune of him as he showed respect in his own way, clearly dancing to a tune no-one else was playing...or hearing.

Mackenzie wrinkled her nose but smiled regardless as Will reassured her he was alright in his typical fashion. She understood the sentiment; no matter what happened in the world around them if she were still with him there could be nothing wrong. Nothing they couldn't conquer. Nothing they couldn't defeat and no hurdles they couldn't over come. She loved every inch of him and he accepted every part of her, up to and including the darkness of her past. He was moving away from her and she watched him, confused but unworried; he always had purpose for confusing her and usually it ended in the most delightful fashions. She wondered idly if they were alone in the house; she knew Ash had errands to run today -or so she said, but Addy was more of a mystery she didn't tend to keep tabs of.

His tone changed, dragging her back as she watched him kneel beside her and the table, her dark eyes drifting to the grass below wondering if he had dropped something, when he said something she had never expected to hear, from anyone let alone him. Her eyes darted back up to his, glancing over the box containing the ring. "What?" Her voice cracked as reality started to seep in, she started to understand exactly what he was saying. Panic and fear filled her, she wanted to run, wanted to hide but the only person she wanted to run to was already here with her. She reached out a shaking hand to touch then hold his wrist, eyes never leaving his as she slid out of her chair and moved closer to him. She brought her lips to his, sliding her arms over his shoulders and kissed him fiercely feeling the cool tears rolling down her cheeks. "Yes." She murmured against his lips.

Emile smiled, feeling the same warmth Chase often brought to his heart hearing the younger man say he trusted the Alpha as well - he knew what the man had done was for duty and what he believed was right; so far as he knew they were a pack of savage animals intent on killing the colonist, but it was his open mind, and heart, that made Emile be drawn to him more and more. Quiet drew between them, though he didn't mind, enjoying the simple time, parting his lips to say something he had on his mind for a time when he felt the quick jab to the ribs. He grunted as Chase danced out of grasp, hand falling to rub at the sting he left behind as he called out and ran into the house.

He growled playfully, taking a hold of the rail intent on chasing the younger wolf into the cabin and having it out with him when he heard footsteps come around side of the cabin. He turned to see Malcolm with a rather stern look on his face.

"The kitsune has arrived." His Beta said, glancing to the open doorway of the cabin before back to his Alpha. "Should I delay him...?"

Emile considered it, but ultimately gave a sigh, "Non," He said simply, waiting for Malcolm to walk away before calling into the cabin after Chase. "Honiahaka. We go, see the fox. He come to help for tonight." Emile had asked Malcolm to call upon the kitsune for the evening, having another non-bias third party to help work out with the colony and it's human inhabitants just how they were going to move forward from this. Emile didn't doubt that the wolves and likely the vampires would not be seen in a great light, but he hoped having another neutral party there would help dissuade any issues.

Malcolm left the Alpha and made his way back to the center of the camping ground where the kitsune stood and waited; he hadn't spoken to anyone but the pack kept their distance from their cousin for more reasons as one. They knew well enough if anything was to be spoke to the fox it would come from the Alpha solely. As he approached Jordan Malcolm nodded back the way he had come. "The Alpha comes with his consult to discuss the colony and tonight's events with you."

William never lowered his eyes or his hands as he watched Mackenzie's features contort with emotion: surprise, panic, confusion even. He felt like he was hanging from the edge of a knife, waiting for her answer. He would love her no matter what she said next -- if she said no, turned him down, she had her reasons and he wouldn't question them. Still, he felt his heart thumping faster, adrenaline pumping as Will watched her for any clue of what answer she might give.

Then it came.

Will almost found himself unable to respond as she approached, feeling her lips against his as she embraced him. At the sensation of her touch, the answer finally registered. He returned her kiss eagerly, wrapping his arms around the small of her back and lifting her off her feet. "I love you," he whispered between desperate kisses, setting Mac down. A calloused hand came up to gently caress her cheek before reaching down to take her own, lifting it up and holding it in place with a smile. His own hands shook slightly as he removed the ring from its container, sliding it slowly onto his love's finger.

Chase had downed a majority of the water in his cup when Emile peeked through the back doorway out of the corner of his eye. He raised a brow at hearing his pack name, resting the cup on the counter by the sink. Emile's words had more or less taken him by surprise but he started out the door and met the Alpha outside before the two continued around the cabin, "The Kitsune? You never mentioned they'd have a part in today." His tone held a little accusation in it but he didn't push or seek to annoy the other man, mainly he was just curious. Chase just couldn't help but wonder why this particular detail had been left out when Emile had explained the plan before, especially considering just moments ago they'd spoken of trusting one another.

Jordan's eyes slowly opened at Malcolm's voice, he looked at the wolf for a moment before speaking.

"Thank you. I do appreciate your hospitality. Though I wish our meetings were under better circumstances..." Jordan bowed in respect to the Beta, he did hold a position worth respecting even though it wasn't amongst his kind. Jordan slowly rose from his bow and scanned the other wolves around, gauging their reactions and moods. This WAS the day that their so called attack on the Hunters would happen.

Mackenzie laughed against Will's lips, "I love you too." She murmured quietly watching him. She was still lost that he had even ask her and more so that she had said yes. Mac had never seen herself the marrying type; she was a legacy hunter after all and what sort of life would that be for him, or them? She guessed if her parents could do it -both legacy's themselves, she could at the very least try. It made her nervous, not knowing what to expect but she watched his hands as he fumbled with the box, felt their shaking as he slipped the ring on her finger. She wondered at how he managed to figure out what size would fit -she didn't even know this, but she guessed that was one of the many reason's why she loved him so much. "You know you're an idiot, right?" She asked quietly, though she could not remove the bemused smile from her lips. "I'll bring you nothing but trouble."

Emile walked with Chase towards where the kitsune awaited them, he gave Chase a rather sheepish grin, bringing his hand up to rub at the back of his neck, trying to explain. "I don't know they come." He admitted, "They speak to Mal, two week ago, we call for them to come tonight. They... They help make colony see what we see." He shrugged some. "They not tell me they come." It wasn't uncommon that the kitsune were rather aloof creatures; they had noted the request for their presence but had never confirmed or denied attending. He should have simply assumed that they would have shown up, but then, of course, they wouldn't have.

As they came to where Mal stood facing the man Emile gave the stranger a stiff nod and a polite smile. "Emile Leroux." He said, though did not offer anything more of a greeting to the kitsune. "This Chase Keaton, he my consult pour la colony. He from there, before, he know the people et how they think."

William chuckled at Mac's comment, raising a hand up to brush a lock of red hair behind her ear before cupping her cheek. "I wouldn't have it any other way. Maybe I could use a little more trouble in my life," he said teasingly, leaning in to place a kiss on her forehead. Looking down, he gazed at her hand, the pale flesh contrasting with the band of black, silver, and gray -- with the emerald shining amidst it all. "I hope it fits," he said quietly, running his finger along her knuckles.

"I got the Colony smith to forge it with some help from the local jeweler. Addy helped, too." In any other circumstance, he might have stopped to consider the irony in getting his old flame to help with a wedding ring for his girlfriend, but Adelaide had been more than happy to help. It wasn't as if he could have kept it a secret from the psychic if he wanted to.

By Emile's reaction to his small accusation Chase momentarily wondered if he'd just thought too much into it. But still, he didn't like the thought of any unknowns tonight. "As long as you're sure about them." He eyed the man carefully for a moment before looking ahead towards the packs guest as they neared. With the Alpha doing the introductions Chase simply stood quietly, though offered a nod in greeting when his name was spoken. It was one thing to grow comfortable with a pack of Werewolves who were like him, it was another to stand in front of an unaffiliated creature that would be counted among those he hunted. But Chase was nothing if not more open-minded these days. "So I hear you might be helping us tonight."

Solomon had been working on his new spell for what seemed like hours, but he was finally confident that it could work. After spending so much time getting the translations and the symbols just right he was certain that the spell would function as a cage, much like the devil's trap worked on demons, and he also knew that he would have to be very careful with the spell. Solomon had underestimated just how powerful his magic was when compared to other people here and no doubt people were starting to take notice. The man of letters finally understood why his forefathers always told him to keep his magic a closely guarded secret. So Solomon made a decision: he would help with the defense of the Colony, but he wasn't going to release the spell to the Colony. Much like the spell the subjugate a god it was too much power to give just anyone. So it would be better if only he had the spell.
With his pet project complete Solomon left his apartment notes in hand and headed for the wall to start drawing out the magic formations outside the Colony walls.

"It does,"She reassured him, her thumb toying over the ring that felt odd on her finger, like it had belonged there the whole time and she had lost it long ago. She listened as he explained it's origin and the fact that his former lover assisted with the project. The irony of this was certainly not lost on her but she made no comment, choosing instead to lean inward and kiss his lips softly. Her dark eyes watched him as spoke quietly. "Silver and Iron?" She asked, making the assumption that would be what he would choose for materials; Mac was far from fashionable. She did own jewelry at some point in her life, but that was long ago when hunting had been a pass time and she had been a kept pet within the Nest. She paused a moment, a bemused look on her face appearing. "Did Ash know about this?"

Malcolm glanced between the kitsune and his Alpha, noting the growing impatience on the latter's face as the kitsune seemed to be preoccupied with his own thoughts. He cleared his throat and smiled, addressing Chase and his inquiry. "Ah, no, not in so many ways. The kitsune have approached the colony as well; they're here for the greater good and in this case hoping to help get everyone on the same page when it comes to the First Sin. We have a plan to prevent any of the humans in there from getting hurt, as you know, but after this... well." He paused, glancing to Emile whom didn't seem any more impressed. "It's a matter of he said versus she said, right? The Council knows what is coming, they were warned the same time Borseti found out about it all; but they haven't told their people." He gestured toward Chase as an example of that. "But when we get in there, and explain to the citizens themselves, we know more than a few of them will not be willing to listen to what we have to say. So part of our plan to try and persuade and convince them to join us rather than fight us is to have more than one source of this information be brought to them."

He nodded towards Jordan, "Having another faction, neutral to the colony at this time, agree that we are right, will help." He, once more, gestured to Chase then a few other pack members, "Former hunters to testify as well and finally Manitou; the Packs god. He has long since lost the ability to manifest himself but he's always here, part of every living one of us. With the shaman and bone casters back in the North conjuring we hope to ... borrow the Oracle that's in the colony and give her the visions of the First Sin that our own Seers have seen."

Emile listened to the Beta as he explained the purpose behind the kitsune, and then adding about the Orcale -his own daughter. He was rather proud that his Beta seemed able to speak about her without emotion; this certainly was not the time but he sighed and glanced to Chase. "He want to ask a ... " He paused, frowning. "Un préférer, Ah. request?"

"Favor," Malcolm interjected and Emile nodded, letting the man speak. "I won't be there this evening, not until long after everything is settled, so I wanted to ask you a favor. Would you be willing to give My-Mackenzie something from me? I haven't seen her since she was a child, but I have something of her mothers that belongs to her and she may not be willing to speak to me after tonight."

William was satisfied to hear that the ring fit Mac well, returning her kiss with a smile. He nodded, confirming the materials used. "And emerald," he said, almost as an afterthought -- he knew his love wasn't the kind to be swayed by shiny gemstones. It was why he'd gone for such a utilitarian design in the first place. As Mackenzie questioned Ash's potential involvement, he grinned and shook his head. "She hasn't the slightest clue. Are you sure she can handle it?" he asked, only half-joking.

travisbello.jpg

Chase listened closely as Malcolm started explaining, it was for the better to have him do it rather than Emile. The poor man would have been stumbling and searching for words and could have expressed something wrong. The overall reasoning for having the Kitsune involved was sound. While the colony can deny deny deny, having different beings coming with the same knowledge was sure to get through to some. Though Chase suspected they'd all be lumped in together as monsters easier than being seen as Kitsune and Werewolves apart. Mostly came as a surprise was that the pack had the ability to conjure this god of theirs, and maybe he shouldn't be but a part of him had questioned the gods existence, not to mention he'd never heard of Werewolf shamans until he'd come here.

When Malcolm spoke on Chase testifying he couldn't help but reach up and scratch at his neck uncomfortably though he tried to hide it. While he would back the pack vocally it didn't make this any less the opposite of what he'd grown up doing and had drilled into his head. "So that's the plan with Mackenzie huh? Good luck with that." Chase crossed his arms over his shoulders with a small sigh at the thought of anyone convincing her to let that happen. Here he'd just been focused on trying to keep her from killing them.

The man caught Emile's rather awkward glance before he'd started speaking, only to have Malcolm finish for him. It seemed the two had spoken beforehand about asking Chase to do something if Emile was the first to speak up. He raised his brows openly to tell Malcolm to go ahead and the Beta did. The request was simple enough, give a keepsake to his daughter. For a moment he wondered why Malcolm wouldn't want to do this himself after the dust had settled but nodded hesitantly as he gave the man a confused look, "What makes you think she won't speak to you? The point of this whole thing is to get both sides on the same page and hopefully working together." Maybe Malcolm thought she'd leave Vitae, or possibly that even if this worked she wouldn't want to be anywhere near him. Either way Chase would do as the Beta asked, he owed Malcolm that much.

Jordan was indeed a bit lost in his own thoughts, considering the near impossible tasks ahead of him he was more concerned with what the right moves and the right responses should be. These young ones had such a short and sensitive temperament that it almost always made speaking a chore. At the moment he was considering whether or not he should give his real identity up, on the plus side it would save him the headache of the wolves eventually finding out. His index and middle finger traded turns lightly touching his thumb as he thought and without warning they stopped altogether as the Kitsune seemed to come to a decision regarding his thoughts.

"...Ah, yes... forgive me. It seems my thoughts were with an alliance that has yet to form. I am Inari Okami," Jordan inclined his head in a show of respect before continuing, "We have taken steps to buy back time before the First Sin's release and look to form alliances to keep it sealed. While it is true that my followers and myself are not known for our allegiances, we don't seek to harm humans... that and to be perfectly honest, Hunters are more the... agreeable type when compared to the Men of Letters... less likely to attempt to put a dagger in the back of you will~"

Mackenzie's dark eyes glittered with amusement as Will mentioned he had not let Ashley-May in on his and Addy's secret; she wondered idly then if he had included Elijah at all, but didn't ask for the moment. Instead she tisked at him, shaking her head. "You're a dead man," She murmured, giving him a false pout. "And I can't save you from her wrath. I promise you, it will come and strike you down." She leaned in to kiss his cheek with a playful sigh. "It was nice while it lasted."

Malcolm smiled ruefully hearing Chase's clear reluctance to believe that Mackenzie would be willing to comply with it, "Obviously she hasn't changed much since her youth." But he already knew this to be true, given the stories both his sons had told about her quick temper and utter defiance of death or personal injury. Even other pack members that had the misfortune of stumbling along her path came back with epics about her relentless hunt for them. Chase questioned why she wouldn't be willing to speak to him directly and he gave a sad smile. "I haven't seen her since she was eight," He said simply. "I am the monster that hunter her and her brothers down and took them from her. I don't think she could ever see me in another way, no matter what the results of tonight are. As much as I would like to think, hope, she would be willing to listen and see me, all of us in another way, I don't know if she can."

Emile listened quietly as Malcolm thanks and explained to Chase his reasons for requesting it from him. Malcolm had approached Emile days earlier with the request; after the Alpha had mad it clear to him and Brody that they were to leave Chase along about their missing family member he knew that Malcolm would not disobey him directly. Their conversation had been short and to the point; Malcolm only cared that his daughter would be safe and that she get information that had been intended for her hands years before but he had never been given the chance. After the night was over, it was a distinct possibility that if the pack's plan worked and the colony chose to join them, she may leave and be lost to the man and his family a second time.

Emile was started from his thoughts as Jordan spoke and introduced himself by another name. He frowned slightly as he recognized it but couldn't place it for the moment. He made a comment about the Men of Letters: another group of human hunters, or similar to them, that Emile hadn't encountered in many years. "Mon informant say there are no Men of Letter in the colony." He offered the kitsune, hoping to allay any fears the other may have.

William couldn't resist the grin that formed as Mackenzie warned him of her best friend and partner's impending retribution for keeping the proposal a secret. He pursed his lips to stifle a laugh, keeping a straight face as he sighed dejectedly, eyes falling to the ground as she placed a kiss on his cheek. "I knew the risks. It's not all bad, though: There's still time to write you into the will," he said teasingly. Will took her hand in his own, thumb running across the shimmering surface of the ring once more. He cocked his head toward the house. "Time to face the music?"

Malcolm gave his reasoning and Chase wouldn't try to argue because he understood, "You are still her father and they are still her brothers. It sure as hell won't be easy but I'd like to think she'll cave eventually." He shrugged, who was he to say. Chase only knew he'd personally give anything to be reunited with his loved ones, and Mackenzie will have that chance of her own soon enough.

The Kitsune gave his name, which tugged at a strand of information somewhere in the recesses of his mind but still drew a blank. "Well as long as you keep seeking not to harm the humans and we'll get along just fine." A faint smile on his lips as he spoke rather with a rather neutral tone, despite what could be taken as a small warning. Fox's could be cunning and tricksters, so admittedly Chase wasn't particularly keen on the alliance. But both Emile and the pack were very open to it so he'd follow suit. "But just because they're less likely to put a dagger in your back doesn't mean they won't." The comment had him momentarily looking over Inari's shoulder and further into camp where Thomas was a prisoner, the hunter having done just that to Chase's father.

The look in the Kitsune's eyes was more amused at the subtle threat than anything and it wasn't hidden in the slightest. It was clear to Jordan that neither the ipso facto Alpha named Emile or the child thinking he could play a game of wits with him knew who he was. Jordan had to fight back the urge to toy with Chase, but the matters at hand were far more pressing...though he made a mental note that he was going to show the boy that veiled threats were nothing more than a game to the Kitsune, though Jordan was sure that may have been the reason all the politicking in Japan back in the day.

"Enough of that...all this talk of backstabbing and whatnot is making me quite nostalgic~" Jordan waived his hand dismissively, and gestured towards the entrance of the camp. "Would you mind letting my two friends outside of the camp know that it is safe to come in? One of them gets quite...agitated when she isn't in the loop. And the other is Nogitsune~"
