they can feel their emotions and vice versa, but the thoughts can only be heard by the creator. The creator can allow them to hear their thoughts because if they want to summon them to come to where they are, they can do so and then turn it off. So I guess it all depends on the vampire creator and whether they want them inside their head.
They do get local "donations" from the hospitals. When I say donations, I mean they have an inside man that can get them blood supplies so that they don't rely on drinking directly from a human, so no suspicion is raised. But the more lethal vampires or I guess you could say that the "i don't care" vampire, like it straight from the source while it's warm. But always remembering not to take too much. They can then use a small amount of their blood to heal the punctured skin so no questions are asked. There are humans though in this town that go to a club on the east side of town who know of vampires and want to feel the rush of having a vampire take from them.
