I like him!! Could I just have some clarification on this child tho?? Like, is she gonna be a full character you'll be playing as?? Is she gonna like, tag along with, the merc group?? How old is she?? I am a curious ;0
Yass!! Same goes with the Group A lot too, I'm just finishing up the Lore thread now, once that's done, I'll divuldge a little on what I have planned for the mini origins my dudes and we can perhaps discuss and plan further

So, clarification with the 'child' bit, 'cause I thought I had left it in there and just realized that I, in fact, did not: Tobrin adopted her when she was five, but she is a full-grown (debatable) adult (also, debatable) that's independent (...somewhat debatable?) but prefers to travel with him, rather than striking off on her own. Her profile (which I'm about to do now, since my body just sat there and said 'no' to sleep) will have a bit more information about her growing up. To him, though, she's always going to be a child, despite her age.
Yes, she's going to be a full-fledged character ('cause the banter) and yes, she's going to be all up in the merc business ("Because you don't get to have fun without me!")

So!! As for origins,
For Group A, I'm thinking along the lines of this:
They agree to return once more to Skyhold to meet, talk, and generally assemble. I'm not sure how much people know about Skyhold's history and what happened to it after the events of inquisition, but basically, it was most definitely Solas' crib at one point, and further more when the Inquisition left it, a literal Demon of Regret appeared in the Mural Solas made of the Inquisitor (Extra Angst points for our one there, considering the Lavellan situation). So I think there's gonna be something else there too. Something magical and very hidden deep deep deep within the very bones of the place. Whatever this thing is will have been woken up/getting rowdier what with Solas starting to kick off and what have you, so I figured that would be a interesting enough starting point to set Group A off on??
For Group B, I'm thinking this:
They've been on a scavanger hunt for absolute YONKS now, all so some ex-orzamar dwarf can just stuff his pockets too. While the work is simple enough, they're all probably getting a bit bored by now. But luckily for them, the last spot on their little treasure map of old Elvhen ruins to explore turns out to be a ancient hidden Fen'Harel shrine/base/temple/general offering place. And the magic there has been woken up by something, OR SOMEONE, very recently...
What do we think??

...so, if that's the case, then is it pulling you down where it is each time you fall through the floor to that place? Maybe trying to get someone's attention? Like "Hey, I'm here. You might want to do something with me or Egghead is gonna use me instead"

Born 9:16 making him a early years teen during the blight of 9:30 Dragon. Making it unlikely he’d of gotten ‘free’ so to speak from his people and have gone off on his own. Leading to roughly the events of awakening or somewhat early DAII, when he’d have experienced that battle that led to his venture in finding his own way in life outside of the Qun.
Perhaps just prior to the end of DAII when he left Rivain and those events in his life and encountering the clan of dalish elves sometime later while wandering in the forests. The resulting war between Mages and Templar’s would eventually make life difficult for the Tal Vashoth mage even with his tendencies to stay apart from villages and human cities. Leading to some kind of encounter with the band of mercs revealing to him a convenient and mutually beneficial opportunity that could still allow him chances to travel and learn/understand other ways of life as a mage in the modern world. A fair trade for both sides his services as a apostate and the strength of numbers they’d offer him to better his odds of survival in the present situation and his own journey
Meaning during the course of inquisition’s events and post, Saar-Raas would have been apart of the group. Making him a junior member with his commitment to a long term relationship still in question.
