Captain Thunder
Titans Tower
7th Floor Bedrooms - Hallway

Upon breaching the seventh floor, Captain Thunder was immediately set upon by vines and roots. They flailed wildly from every direction, slapping and scratching away at him but his diamond hard skin prevented their thorns and barbs from penetrating his skin and releasing their toxin into his bloodstream.

Encircling him, some of the larger vines wrapped around his body, pinning his arms to his sides and lifting him into the air. They proceeded to squeeze down on his chest, hoping to force the air from his lungs. Cap roared in defiance, tensing his tornado powerful muscles but the monstrous vines maintained their hold.

As the toxic gases that saturated the floor began to fill his lungs, Thunder could feel his vision become blurry and disoriented. Although the tenacity of the ram allowed him to fight its effects, the gas was an extremely potent mix and Cap knew he wouldn't be able to withstand its effects forever.

The vines sensed Thunder weakening and pressed their advantage. Like Wally before him, one of the smaller ones attempted to force its way down his throat, hoping to suffocate him, or something worse. However, with Uncas' bravery, Cap fought on and like a wild animal, he bit down on the vine with his powerful jaws, severing it from the rest of the plant before spitting it out.

Suddenly, he could hear the roar of engines behind him followed by a barrage of bullets. The vine and roots fared much worse from the assault than Captain Thunder did. Bullets pierced the vines and roots, punching fist sized holes into them whilst harmlessly bouncing of Captain Thunder. With the vines that ensnared him wounded, he flexed his muscles and the vines exploded from the force, showering the room in green sap.

Free from the plants grasp, he fell to the floor and landed on one knee. Stretching his arms out to the sides, Cap clapped them together with a thunderous impact, dissipating the smog from the room and allowing him to take a deep breath of clean air.

Thunder turned to look out the hole he had made earlier and could see a black aircraft hovering outside. He gave a thumbs up to the craft. Cap had no idea who was piloting it but he was grateful to whoever it was. ( The Witch Son The Witch Son )

He returned his mind to the task at hand and, as the smog began to encroach from behind him, Captain Thunder took another deep breath before continuing his offensive once more. With more covering fire from the aircraft behind, Cap fought his way through the vine and roots and managed to make his way into the hallway.

Cisco's ( _gallifrog_ _gallifrog_ ) last words echoed in his mind; the root was in Rosemary's room, but which room was hers? The whole floor was unrecognisable from this morning. It was like a jungle, with thick vegetation everywhere. Not helping the matter was the dense pale green smog that shrouded the area and poisoned his senses.

However, his friends were in mortal danger from this entity so with the blessings of Uncas and the Ram behind him, Captain Thunder would fight his way into every room if he had to.

Alexandra Smith
While everyone else was scurrying from place to place trying to help, Alex stood there helplessly as her head swished from side to side. Ironic how she was a natural born warrior, yet in time of need she's suddenly forgot all her years of continuous training from back home. As the air got thicker and thicker, Alex almost had a heart attack when she heard the words "THUNDER". In place of Willie, the younger boy she had spoken to the day before, stood a fully grown man who most definitely did not resemble Willie's physique at all. "Just when I thought shit couldn't get weirder, we have kids who can turn into adults" she muttered under her breath, coughing as she used her sword to swiftly cut any vine approaching her.

When green Wally showed up attacking them, Alex's eyes furrowed in confusion, but fright laced her face as well. She mentally patted herself on the back for getting out of the vine's grasps if it could take over your body. Just as quick as Wally appeared he was down by Violet and Alex shot a smile of gratitude her way, flashing her pearly whites. Watching Willie leave the room on his quest to find Rosemary who'd gone triffid, she couldn't help to shake her head at the boy...or should she say man? He was so easily flustered when he was Willie, but Captain Thunder was an entirely different person. She probably shouldn't have took her attention off the situation at hand, because she started to cough erratically after accidentally taking a deep breath of the intoxicated air around them.

Grasping her throat while coughing, Alex heard Amethyst chant something and the air that was once choking her airways had been replaced with fresher and cleaner air. "You're a literal lifesaver" she said to the girl, shooting her a wink as she watched her follow Abel and Ruby into the exit to the staircase going to the seventh floor. "Wait guys, did you forget this all started on that floor?" she yelled exasperated, while hastily following the three down the staircase to the floor she had just successfully escaped.

Sure, she was an Amazon and was taught to fight as a warrior, but not fucking plants that polluted the air and could kill her. She'd also been living in California for two years now, and the most she'd down was chase down a robber or help someone get their cat back. Swiping her sword at the nagging vines in the hallway, she spotted Captain Thunder in the hallway, and bullet casings littering the floor. "Not bad, Willy Wonka" she said to him, calling him Willy Wonka since his name was the same as the owner of the Wonka Chocolate Factory. Alex peered her head out of the hole in the wall and met Stray in a black hovercraft. "Random aircraft to the rescue" she spoke out in the tone of a game show announcer, swiping her sword at a vine that was creeping up her left foot.

Looking down the hallway she scanned over the rooms trying to distinguishing which one was Rosemary's, although the vines that constantly grew didn't help at all. "Well I know that's Wally's room, and my room is beside his..." she trailed off, pointing at the two rooms that resembled more of a jungle than anything else. "I'm pretty sure Ms. Plants was to my right, but we can never be too sure. So, do we go checking every room or we take the risk in trusting my memory so we can end this shit faster?" she inquired, cutting at the vines that attempted to draw closer to her or the rest of the Titans.

Following it being pinned down to the floor, the Greenster was eaten up by the floor and held firmly in place by the abilities of the magician. Even if it did awake once more, it wouldn't pose as a threat besides the pale-green head sticking out of the floor.

On the eighth floor, following Captain Thunder's escape, the green gas had slowly began fading outside of the room.

Still its potency was present in the unconscious Virgil Hawkins, and dazed Elizabeth Kane.

At the stairwell, Ruby Spark was burning away at the Green.

The vines writhed, and cried in every direction, vying to get away from the scorching heat. Soon the floor was littered with charred black plants. The smoke released sounded the fire alarms on the 6th, 7th, and 8th floors. Whilst the alarms blared, sprinklers sounded and water was released onto all those in the building.

The gas in the area was growing weak with Captain Thunder and Stray's attacks. In spite of just being around the jungle, the 7th floor harbored the most "nerves" of the monster, and due to it the gas was fading away, no longer being reproduced.

The onslaught of Captain Thunder was one that while slow, the Green had managed to deal with. The Blackbird firing into the tower though had been unexpected. Not only had the jet freed Captain Thunder from his capture, but through Stray's "bird's eye view" he was aware of who's room was which. The bullets concentrated themselves on Rosary's room, and Captain Thunder being lead the way.

The armor-piercing rounds of the Blackbird virtually ripped apart the monster, whilst Captain Thunder's attacks wounded it. The skin of the giant Venus Fly-Trap grew thin, and lightened in its shade of green. Soon, the plant exploded with a bright green ooze. The essence was harmless, but was one that painted Captain Thunder, and Alexandra Smith at his side green, leaving them drenched in the smell of old pine.

In place of the plant monster, a meatless skeleton sat in the mess of green and red blood. Leaves grew from its demise, but this time it seemed nothing mutated. Any of the teams' magician would've sensed a cease in the Green's presence.

They'd defeated it.

In spite of the dire situation at hand, Abel broke his seriousness at Ruby's words. "Did you just call me Harry Potter, love?" He smirked, and held back a laugh at her words. By the door to the stairs, heat licked at Abel's face once the fire left Ruby's hands. He could see the flames reflected in her irises, and the plants writhing at their fiery fate. "...Badass..." Abel muttered under a breath, before glancing back at the scene behind him. He watched their possessed speedster ally charge over at the tiny girl from earlier-- one who's skin shifted to a silver colour. Oh god did he need Ruby to hurry up and get them out of here. The sight was one out of a weird super hero flick, the picture of a green speedster colliding into a steel woman. The girl put the other boy down swiftly though, and Abel nodded his head impressed at the sight before turning back to Ruby. "Any lu-..."

Abel cursed once he felt Amy escape his grasp. He was trying to rescue her, yet here she was playing super-hero. Albeit impressed by her knowledge of so many useful spells, Abel didn't need Amy getting caught in the cross hairs of this. Wally was infected, Virgil was knocked out, and the Joker-spawn was pretty damn close too. Abel was surprised to find himself with the ability to breathe once more. "Amy you daughter of a gun." He smiled at the mage, eyes watching her until she'd returned. "I could kiss you right now-- if we had better circumstances." He quickly added, before interlocking his fingers around hers once more and pulling her after Ruby who'd done some work getting down to the 7th floor. Abel was tempted to pat the pyrokinetic on the back for a job well done, but feared the smell of his fingers frying against his skin. "Well done." He nodded, but quickly disappointment was written on his face once more.

Abel tried to say the words as Alexandra ran off onto the 7th floor in search of Rosary's room. Why would she enter the fucking Green jungle with nothing more than a sword? She was lucky though, because just as quickly as Alex had ventured onto the 7th floor, a wave of mystical energy fled through Abel. Something seemed to be missing now, and Abel smirked once he realized it.

"Those bastards, they've done it." Abel said as his eyes thinned down deeper into the hallway. He could see the red cape of Captain Thunder fluttering in the doorway, and could hear bullet casings hitting the floor in the distance. Son of a bitch, they'd survived the Green on their second day at the tower.

"Amy, Red, can you believe that? We're not dead!" Out of excitement, Abel pecked the two at his side on their cheeks, before venturing off passed the vines and to where he'd seen Captain Thunder's cape whipping in the wind. The odor was a strong one filled with nature, but the sight was horrid. Abel looked up at the drenched Captain Thunder with a wary nod. He snaked around Thunder, but forced a smile and thumbs up in the caped crusader's direction. Abel then continued deeper into the room, stepping over the trunks and wood that adorned the room's floor. In the center of the mass sat a skeleton, likely a former member of the team. The one who'd harboured the Green in the first place.

"Tough way to go." He said simply, and crouched down on his two's. "The smell's amazing though. Like pure woods." With that, Abel went on to pluck several of the leaves that sprouted from the green liquid. It'd make for a neat transformation spell, he'd never been a conduit of the green before. If he was going to keep getting potential magic upgrades like this, perhaps the risks of staying with this team was worth it. Hell, he'd barely escaped Swam Thing during their encounter though this team had killed their attacker. They were more badass than he'd initially figured. Abel smirked, and tossed the leaves into the pockets of his satin pajamas before rising up once more. "So who's cleaning all this?"

Jester had been drifting in and out since she approached Casco and Violet. She had no idea what was going only that she knew when she left the toxic air. Though she could not sense the poison when she was in the room apart from its effect, leaving its presence gave her the sense of being able to breathe again. She began to cough and made weak half-hearted attempts to scratch the feeling of rashes throughout her body. This was all too familiar, the haze and poison what usually followed was laughter and pain.

It was suddenly like a switch turned to her head, she began to panic. Her only recently restored breathing seemed to go heavier and laboured, she began to make a sound which was strange mix of coughing and laughing. "Stay... Stay way! No more!" She found herself calling out waving her hand about as if straggling against an invisible force or who ever would come close to her. "You willl... You will regret this.... Batman would be the least..." She tried to stand bad could not manage it stumbling the moment her foot touched the floor. So desperate she was that she gave up standing but just starting to crawl away.

Captain Thunder
Titans Tower
7th Floor Hallway - Rosemary's Room

Captain Thunder ears were filled with the sound of the fire alarms blaring as the sprinklers on the seventh floor kicked in. Though there was no fire, the sprinklers and smoke ventilation systems had helped reduce the amount of gas on the floor significantly.

Cap could hear the sound of Alex's ( enigma2 enigma2 ) sword swinging as she cleaved through the assailing vines. When she finally managed to make her way towards him, she appeared to pay him a compliment, causing him to blush.

"Willy Wonka?" Thunder responded as calmly as possible, trying to sound unruffled by the compliment.

Fortunately for him, Alex's attention appeared to of been caught by the aircraft ( The Witch Son The Witch Son ) hovering outside. "Never look a gift horse in the mouth." he said, as the craft pulled away and out of view.

Alex laid out what she knew of which room belonged to who and Thunder was more than happy to trust her when the sound of gunfire erupted from one of the rooms.

"That way!"

Making their way towards the room, Cap made sure to position himself in front of Alex just in case a stray bullet came in their direction whilst she hacked away at any opposing vine.

Looking into Rosemary's room, Thunder could see a giant venus fly-trap in the centre. The creature was doing it's best to defend itself against the storm of bullets that penetrated the room but it was apparent that it was overwhelmed as they easily tore through its flesh.

Cap and Alex joined in the assault, with Cap tearing the vines and roots from the main plant whilst she cleaved through them. The venus fly-trap grew paler as the group continued their assault before exploding and covering the room, and everyone in it, in a bright green ooze.

Thunder wiped the ooze from his face and saw Abel ( fin fin ) enter the room. As he approached what remained of the creature, he gave Cap a smile and a thumbs up, which he reciprocated with a smile of his own. Cap extended an open palm in the direction of Alex, as he went to initiate a low five, when Abel asked who was going to clean his up.

"Errrrrrrrr..." Cap answered.

Amy couldn't help the light giggle that escaped her lips at his words,"What, life or death situations not enough of a turn on?" she quip with a smirk before getting back to business as their hands interlocked, "Raincheck."She hummed. She told herself the hand holding was just because it'd be easier to uphold the spell with his support, but a part of her believed it might just be for comforting too. He seemed more insistent then usual in keeping her close, and she wasn't entirely sure why. She was capable, and he knew that from experience...so why?Though she swallowed hard and decided to do her best not to think too much into it, over thinking would only lead to a mess, and now wasn't the time anyways. She had to keep her head in the game if she was going to protect him and everyone else. She refused to acknowledge the hypocrisy of her desire to protect him despite knowing he was also a very capable mage.

Suddenly the magical presence started to fade until it was completely gone as they'd gone further into the 7th floor. Even though she felt the threat was gone it wasn't until she heard Abel cheer and could now see Captain thunder that she released the spell confident that they had in fact won. She noticed the Jet fly away and Alex no longer swinging her sword since the foliage was no longer attacking just laying around dead and wilting. She took a deep breath and a sigh of relief that everything was finally over for the morning. It was obvious what had happened, but she was too tired to comment on it much. She just smiled at Abel's celebration receiving the peck with a grin and smiled at Ruby, "You were amazing! couldn't have done it without you." With that she watched as some of the members walked into Rosaly's room...she supposed former room now since there was no way the girl was still alive inside. Which in itself was a terrible thought. While they didn't get off on the best foot, this isn't anything she'd wish on anyone.

Instead of joining she turned to check on the other members who she'd told to go to the roof but before she could take a step she fell to her knees. Her legs felt like jello and her head was spinning. She knew she'd over done it, and the adrenaline of the situation kept her together, but now that it was gone she was suffering from the complete drainage. She reached up her right hand to hold her head as she tried to steady herself. Maybe she'd have to check on the others later, right now she needed to rest. But of course her room would be the last one on the complete opposite end of this jungle of a hallway. There was no way she was getting there in this condition, so she just curled up on the staircase and closed her eyes. She'd just have to take a mini nap right here and worry about everything else when she could actually think, move, and speak.

That was a sound she knew all too well. Violet felt the speedster's arm bend unnaturally, that violent snap. It was desperate, bandaging its own wound the best it could but that was an injury you just didn't walk away from. She watched as he writhed under her, apologetic eyes focusing on his face until the green's avatar snapped its eyes shut and stopped moving. Immediately she felt sick to her stomach. Whatever good impression she could have made must have been ruined by that. Every time she ended up hurting someone during training back before she escaped, something bad would happen. And it would always change based on how badly she had injured someone. She didn't even want to think about what would happen with these people. They had magic, other powers...the Justice League could just make her leave. Force her out and then arrest her for this. She felt her stomach twisting unbelievably.

She only let go of Wally when the floor moved, her face shifting a bit to show her confusion before Amy spoke. That was the weirdest power Violet had...no. Second weirdest. She used to know a kid who just turned into a sandwich on a plate. That was the weirdest power she had ever seen. Anyway, she stood, taking a deep breath and leaving Wally there to make an attempt to follow Amy. "I have to change back, I wouldn't be able to breathe if I went down like this." Standard form meant she could withstand whatever toxins were in the air, but she would be vulnerable to spikes. Something however told her super strength was going to be more useful.

So for the first 20 seconds of everyone rushing downstairs, she stayed behind. Shifting back was just as painful as getting her metal skin in the first place. Thousands of razor blades pulling back through her pores, her skin shifting a bit oddly as the metal took its rightful place again. But it seemed like right after she changed back...the fight was over. She had just made it downstairs when she heard Abel make a comment about cleaning up. The vines seemed to be dying off, everyone was doing their own thing so she just turned around and headed back upstairs. "Gideon?"

"Yes, Violet?" The AI answered as Violet entered the 7th floor again. She had passed Amy taking a nap on the stairs...an odd choice but it looked like whatever she had done let go of Wally. She thought he'd be back to normal now that whatever it was had been taken care of regardless of what he looked like still. He weighed practically nothing, though him being taller than her was going to make transporting him weird.

"Where's the infirmary?"

"The 6th floor." Violet nodded, not that Gideon could reply to that, steel-grey eyes scanning the room to see if anyone else needed help. There were two, Virgil who was unconscious and that joker girl. And Violet could only carry one more person comfortably. Not that the weight was the problem it was her size. Literally, everyone was taller than her. But she chose to help Virgil, getting him over her shoulder before quickly...or as quickly as she could...made her way over to the stairs again. Amy just taking a nap there really kinda threw Violet off, but she made sure to walk around carefully as she continued making her way down.

The smell of the infirmary is what got her. That sterile scent of hospital-like spaces always made her skin crawl, but she was down here for a reason. Moving to the beds, she sat Virgil down first before laying Wally down on the one next to him. Following Gideon's instructions, she hooked them both up to a heart monitor, making sure they were both comfortable...Violet was very much aware that she didn't know how to fix Wally's arm.

Hopefully someone here did.

CISCO & JESTER
Location: Titans Tower rooftop to the infirmary
Mentions: Cisco, Amy, Virgil, Jester, Violet, Wally the Greenster,
Interactions: Jester ( ThatGuyWithSouvlaki ThatGuyWithSouvlaki ) and Cisco (with each other) Violet FireMaiden FireMaiden

Cisco took no offense at Amy declaring that neither he, Virgil nor Jester would be of any great use at the moment. It was true, he was a scientist, an engineer at that, biological, magical threats were not his speciality. Amy making Virgil light enough for him to carry was a relief, as well as her imprisoning Wally, once this was all over, he'd be coming back for the Greenster and getting as much data as possible to see if he was still a threat or not. The science lab and medical facilities were on the lower floors, which was where Violet was heading with the now feather light Virgil and Wally. Ordinarily Cisco would have followed, but his throat was straying to close up, and his eyes were watering from the gas. Fresh air was his priority, he couldn't be of use to anybody else if he couldn't breathe properly and think straight. So Cisco followed his own advice and headed upwards, the air quality improving significantly with each floor, until he and Jester were on the roof (which had a pretty spectacular view that Cisco would have very much appreciated, had he not been too bust cramming fresh air into his lungs).

He glanced over at Jester "Hey are you.... ?" the rest of the sentence died in his mouth, as he saw that Jester was clearly not okay. Her breathing was erratic and she was crawling away from some unseen threat her eyes wide and unfocused. Past trauma being dug up by the posion? A hallucogin? Whatever it was, she needed help. He crouched near her, not too close in case she lashed out. "Hey, hey, can you hear me? It's not real what you're seeing, it's not real. You're on the roof, it's safe here, there's no danger here anymore. I'm no danger."

Jester continued to move away, clearly his words not filtering through to her perceiving them as something else. "No... No more... Not tricks... I am not going to become you." She said sounding more angry and desperate. She seemed to move closer and closer to the edge of the roof. She made another attempt to stand, this time managing to get on to one knee, moving her hand slowly and weakly in front of her in a defensive stance. "What you think I can't fight you, come on! I will make you pay for every scar." She made to stand once more though she was able to get to her feet but started to stumble moving closer to the edge of the roof.

Cisco could tell it was getting worse, Jester was in her illusions so deep that he wasn't getting through to her. She seemed to think he was somebody from her past, and given her get-up, Cisco would stake a good chunk of his salary on it being the Joker. He was well known for fucking other people up in the head, scaring them both mentally and physically. She was backing towards the roof, an instinctive terror response, get away from the threat, which was only making it worse, if she accidentally fell off there was no way she was surviving that fall. "I'm not him! I'm not the Joker! I'm about as far from him as you can get. I'm an engineer, and a metahuman at that. I'm not trying to fight you or hurt you! Listen to my voice, my accent is completly wrong to be him! And if you back up any more you're going to fall off the roof."

Jester groaned loudly at Cisco words almost yelling in frustration as the words seemed to filter through to her. "No! No more lies! Or tricks! Or torture!"She called out angrily before suddenly starting to laugh in a sinister manner. "Engineer? Meta human? That is a new one... It doesn't matter. I am free now. Time for some payback!" She made another movement to stand and as if with renewed energy managed to stand. She moved to charge at Cisco as if to strike him. Despite her renewed energy she was still sluggish and weak, so when she made a swing at him it would not be difficult to avoid or feel like much if it landed.

She didn't believe him, which wasn't surprising in any shape or form, she was quite clearly out of it, whatever toxin Rosary emitted coursing through her system and impeding her movement and thinking. It's effects weren't as strong on Cisco, maybe it was his age, he had a good ten years on everybody else in the room after all. Cisco saw her strike coming long before it landed, her movements were sluggish and it was easy for him to sidestep the blow, letting her own momentum carry her past him. "Well it's the truth. You were drugged. Remember? Rosary, the plant girl, went all Triffid and started to take over the Titans Tower. Got the Wally, red headed speedster guy? Remember him? You got slashed and poisoned, while I was the guy stupid enough to try and reason with the thing. Tall, foreign looking guy, long hair? That ring a bell?"

Jester seemed she was not listening any more, Cisco moving away of her attack made her stumble, and she almost fell. Still, she remained at her feet even if it was just barely. She returned to her fighting stance and attempted to strike at Cisco, fighting like desperate boxer as she attempted to throw two hook punches at him. The first hook barely reached Cisco's face and in that only to brush his lip gently if he hadn't moved already. When she attempted the second punch, she lost her balance and fell back to her side with the groan. She was silent for a moment before starting to sob making a noise between a cry and laughter. "...Please...No... More..." She finally said clear desperation in her tone.

The second swing just barely made contact with Cisco's face as he went to side-step again. It wouldn't even come close to splitting his lip, that's how light the touch was. The third attempt was the one that finally caused her to fall to the floor. At the rate things were going she was going to end up more bashed up than she was. It was pretty heartbreaking to see her crying, to see what this past trauma was reducing her to. He crouched near her, and reached out a hand, very gently putting it on her shoulder. "Hey, hey, it's alright, it's alright. You'll be okay." His tone was quieter and calmer.

Jester seemed to recoil away to his touch a spasm like manner but didn't yell or speak, just continued to sob. She was tense as if pain her face in a manner that indicated that she was expecting pain to come. Suddenly she groaned as in pain, her hand moving to her forehead. "Oh... My head..." She began to say but soon seemed she was passing out, leaning forward and falling limb into Cisco's arm and chest.

Cisco started slightly as Jester simply collapsed onto him. His first thought was that she had died, succumbed to the posion and the stress of re-living past trauma. Two fingers went to the pulse point on her neck, confirming that she was indeed still alive, her pulse racing, but gradually slowing. Exhaustion most likely, but he was no doctor. But he did know a medical doctor, and he had sent all the data possible to his lab colleagues. There was also the matter of Wally the Greenster. Carefully Cisco, stood up, lifting up Jester's prone form into an easier position for carrying and made his way back downstairs.

He was surprised to see Wally and Virgil already hooked up to various machines, seemingly by Violet, who was looking like she'd rather be anywhere else on Earth than in the med-bay. "Hey, Gimme a sec to sort this one out yeah?" He called over as he carefully he laid Jester down on another bed, hooking her up to some of the monitors in the manner of somebody who actually knew what he was doing. A glance at Wally's arm was all he needed to confirm it was broken and badly. He was a speedster, with speed healing, under normal circumstances he'd have healed this easily enough. But it wasn't healing, his body concentrating on eradicating traces of the Green. He pulled out his phone, casting a glance at Violet "Yeah, I don't know how to set a broken arm either. But I know somebody who does." He set it to speaker "Hey Kate, it's me, can you do me a favour and walk me through setting a broken arm? It's a long story."

stray
Stray stared in sick fascination at the steaming skeleton that was Isely. Finally, the thing had burst under the combined fire of him and Captain Thunder and honestly Stray had presumed that this thing was something left by Isely, not Isely herself.

Killing was... avoidable, and despite not being a goody two-shoes 'hero' Stray wasn't a vengeful butcher either. Unlike some people.

He had only loosely caused the death of so few people that he could count them on one hand, and comfortably so, if it was a question of his life vs some asshole he was comfortable choosing his own. But to directly kill? Though to be fair she had either knowingly or unknowingly threatened all their lives, and frankly the question of how much a person she was vs plant... he was perhaps overthinking this. It was done.

Sascha directed the Blackbird away and placed it back in its hangar, shutting things down and heaving a sigh. He stretched and considered whether or not Ivy would gun for his ass now, but decided that was a problem for another time.

"Gideon, open a voice memo to be sent to the Justice League."

"You can begin speaking when you're ready."

"Never mind you useless capes, I took care of it for you. Thanks, by the way, for the prompt action and for setting us all with a death trap in the first place. It was not at all appreciated and I'm officially filing a complaint with the managerial department. Stray out." He threw up a peace sign and had Gideon send that out.

"Alright Gideon, where is everyone?" Stray continued to stretch, as though he'd just gone through a difficult physical ordeal.

"The infirmary on the sixth floor holds several individuals, the rest are congregated on the seventh and eight floors." Gideon chimed.

He nodded and decided to take the elevator this time, forsaking the stairs since going up was a whole lot more effort and time than going down. He rode it to the sixth floor and stepped out, sauntering over to the infirmary and peering in on the group of people there. They looked alive, mostly.

He leaned on the frame of the entryway and observed.

The Batman
The time had been just shy of eleven in the morning when Bruce's spyware hand watch hand rung out. The alert had stemmed from one of Wayne Enterprises' bugs installed into the Titans Tower, Bruce's latest experiment. He hadn't much time to react to it all as Waylon Jones, more commonly known as the Killer Croc bounded towards him. It wasn't a rare sight seeing the Batman face off against one of Gotham's most wanted, but what was unsettling about it all was their location. Somewhere in the Amazon forest, rather than Gotham city. Bruce had gotten word of the LexCorp drug production-- one that should've been stopped weeks ago, but when did Luthor ever listen? Digging into various shell-corporations, and business transactions, he'd found himself infiltrating an off-shore LexCorp office hidden away in the Amazon. While he'd successfully extracted much-needed information, and blown the place to shit, it seemed Croc's dermal armour had helped him withstand the blast in the process of it all.

Hopefully his B-league team could hold off for as long as it took for him to apprehend Waylon. It also didn't help that Superman was off-world on the Apokolips mission with Wonder Woman, or the current strained affairs between the mainland and Atlantis.

****
Batman's boots landed firmly atop the Titans Tower building, with the Bat-Jet hovering closely over him. It was cloaked, hidden both from government and Justice League radars. Whatever, or whoever had infiltrated his tower wouldn't be aware of his presence.

"Alfred, don't tell me these readings are-" Batman asked as he looked down at the display glowing from a computer installed into the wrist of his armour.

"I'm afraid it is so, Bruce. The same chemical compound banned by W.H.O., traced in the Amazon and in Waylon Jones is now present in the tower, scans show. The kids' technology isn't nearly up to par, they won't even know-"

"Keep it that way. If there's a mole-- someone infected, we don't want them to know-" Bruce didn't have any time to react as a green root sprung out at him on the roof. He leapt back, using his cape to glide him backwards before throwing multiple Bat-Bombs towards the Green. The roots imploded, but not before several more returned in its place. Out of nowhere the armoured Blackbird ascended into the air, firing off military-grade bullets into the plant-being.

"If you were thinking it, Sire. Ms. Isley is still in Arkham Asylum."

"Good." Bruce replied, charged forwards at the sound of an opening. He leapt off the side of the tower, spinning his body midair to face the building. His fingers traced the grappling hook strapped into his utility belt, firing it off and onto where he'd once been on the top of the 'T.' The hook struck firmly into the building, and allowed for a smooth swing into the whole provided by Captain Thunder, and Stray.

The first sight Bruce had been able to take in was the skeleton laying lip inside of the plant rubbish. He could feel his fingers clench tight against one another, teeth gritted under his cowl. Only their second day in the tower and they'd taken a life. They'd killed somebody.

"Any of you," Bruce started, blank white eyes (hidden under sonar scanners in his cowl) bounced from Alex, to Abel, and then Captain Thunder, "Lead me to the others."

WALLY WEST

It had been like watching a movie through his own body. Seeing himself purposefully try and injure his teammates, being put down by his own friends, his broken arm--

"Ahh..!" Wally had definitely felt that one. Perhaps the pain had snapped him free of the Green's hold, perhaps the Green had been defeated, but it didn't matter now. Like a roller coaster ride, Wally's vision zoomed forwards into his entire body. No longer was he trapped in the room of darkness, but now in a body that'd done nothing but hurt his team. His vision returned to normal, eyes looking weakly up at a steel-skinned violet before ultimately passing out. The pain was fucking excruciating.

Wally didn't remember much of Violet carrying him to the infirmary. Blurred images, bright lights, and plants were all that flashed through his eyes. He had a sudden flash of heat succumb his body, as if he'd ran for ages and hadn't thought to stop for a break. His hand, and body burned, yet he was unable to move. Likely still in shock. Barry and Cisco had given him a word or two about overusing his speed. Eventually the pain transition to dreams-- no, memories. Memories of gardens, and thick leaves, with ravines that flowed in a serenading pattern. Then destruction-- humans, building, urbanization. As soon as he'd remembered them, they'd vanished without grasp over them.

Now he sat like a baby, having to learn everything once more. Lesson one was on breathing.

Wally flickered upright in a heartbeat. While he'd attempted to use both arms to grab at his throat, signal that he couldn't breath, an excruciating pain rang through his right hand. While the vines, and leaves shriveled and died where it'd once held his hand together, the speed-force had done so little with nothing. His flesh covered the wound, but his hand was still visibly crooked and bent backwards.

"Ahhh..!" Wally screamed once more, and coincidentally the feeling of shouting so hard had given him to ability. Ability to grasp for air, to intake it, and breath once again. A migraine settled onto his forehead, and he lay once more into the bed. The ringing was a sound he hated, but it was evident where he was. The hospital, or infirmary. Something medicine-y, he figured.

With a glance over to his left he made out Virgil's limp figure on the bed next to him, and opposite was-- well, he couldn't see with Violet's figure lingering over him. But in the background he could hear a familiar voice that definitely anchored him. The voice of Cisco Ramon.

"Doctor, am I gonna live?" Wally asked dryly, but a weak smirk was on his face. His eyes were tired, barely awake, but right now he wanted to enjoy the feeling of being in control of his own body. "It's me."

Hearing Cisco made her jump a little, taking a step back from Wally's bed as if he was going to start yelling. She really hadn't leaned to.hurt him like that, it was an accident. Violet's arms crossed to hug herself, hands gripping her upper arms. Those track marks on the inside of her elbows weren't the only scars visible right now, her arms we're littered in cuts, tears, and burns. And if she could retreat into a tiny ball and disappear, that would be exactly what she would do. But no. She was still in this place, with that horrible smell and the horrible noises, chewing on her bottom lip. She was going to be kicked out, wasn't she? Or arrested. He was their friend, the speedster seemed like he was friendly with everyone and Violet was just some random girl off the street who broke his arm. Sure she brought him down here but...that wasn't enough to make up for it. They all hated her, they were all going to hate her. Which wasn't new but...maybe Violet had been able to convince herself they didn't. Obviously, that was the wrong thing to do. Even Amy was going to hate her.

Suddenly, that feeling of being watched wash over her, Violet turning her head a bit to look at the door. It was Stray. One arm moved a little so she could wave at him, but she couldn't manage a smile. Not even a fake one to try and break the tension. He had been nice to her so far. But that was going to change, she knew it would. Every time she hurt someone like this without orders or permission is just went wrong. Really, really wrong. Her mind was racing with all the possible things could do to her when finally she heard Wally. Turning back to look, his scream only tightening the grip she had on herself, she had moved for a second to speak to him but...he didn't want to hear. Violet knew that would be the case right? He was going to be mad at her for breaking his arm and wouldn't even want ro hear her apology. He didn't even address her, he was talking to Cisco.

So Violet moved, sitting down in one of the chairs, the material creaking with her weight as she settled. Violet kept her arms wrapped around herself, still chewing on her bottom lip, wanting to spew out an apology or something to Wally. But she was forcing that word vomit down. Her eyes flickered between the other boys, Liz's presence doing no favors in helping Violet from getting increasingly nervous around them. Speaking of Liz...Violet felt just as bad she couldn't help the other girl in time. Appearance aside, nobody deserved to be drugged. Hopefully, she'd be okay. Slowly, her attention moved back to Cisco. "is...is your friend going to help?" She asked, her timid voice and meek presence once again taking over.

Ruby Spark
…and then it was over. Ruby was so deep in her thoughts, trying to keep the green vines in a sufficient distance from her and all those who followed, she didn’t even realize when the whole thing died. Her energy was running out quite fast at this point and her last fire balls were certainly not as strong as the ones at the beginning but she wouldn’t give up. But the relief she felt after she didn’t have to pull that fire from the deepest pits of her body anymore was more than refreshing.

This one word came to her, the one she heard once her hands ignited and started to destroy the green plague. ‘Badass.’ You bet, boyo! Though seeing what the others managed to accomplish, she had to admit that the word applied to each and every person there.

The peck on her cheek made her eyes go wide, eyebrows jumped up high on her forehead and Ruby was so caught by surprise, she wouldn’t even lash out at him for calling her Red. Though was he going to repeat that, she would explain the silk pajamas David Copperfield how much she hated that name. But this was really not the time and place to pick some meaningless fights. Plus she was too tired anyway.

“Yeah, uh…thanks…” she muttered upon the praise she got and her cheeks got colored in a soft pinkish hue. “You were incredible as well. The whole…bubble…head…thingy…a real lifesaver…literally. Thanks again…uhh…Amy, right?” she smiled and gave her an appreciative nod.

While the others went around, checking the room where this green monster originated from, Ruby stayed behind. Fuck all the rules, she needed a smoke. Fishing out a pack of cigarettes, she stuck one in between her lips. One snap of the fingers of her light hand brought a small flame, that was the most she could do right now. And with that first long drag, she filled her lungs with smoke and damn if that didn’t feel great!

Only when she indulged in her drug for a drag or two more, she noticed a movement in the corner of her eye. The girl who basically save them from getting poisoned, fell down to her knees and then curled on the stairs. Ruby herself was drained and she knew how that felt. If she had to keep going for a minute longer, she might just pass out herself. But stairs really didn’t feel like a place you wanted to take a nap on.

She knelt down to Amy and shook her shoulder a little. “Hey…hey, come on. Let’s get you out of here. This is not really the best place. Let me get you outta here, eh?” she suggested in a soft gentle voice and wondered if Amy even heard her or her nap was too heavy.

Haliwell Marley
Hush

Hal had been forced further and further down the stairs as the plants stretched themselves towards the ground. He had gotten no answers over the intercoms, but had gotten a short and honestly way too chaotic summary from Gideon. As much as he wished to get up to the 8th and 7th floor to help the others, he didn’t risk going through the jungle of vines that would meet him. Besides, his powers did little against physical danger. Stealth and the element of surprise and disorientation was what made him useful.

At some point, after what sounded like gunfire coming from outside the building, the plants stopped snaking their way further down, and just stopped. He stood still for a little while but taking an experimental step towards the vines. Unlike earlier, they didn’t try slither towards him, trying to catch him like they had with Wally West. (Gideon had shown him the replay of what had happened when he had tried to get some information on what was going on,)
He moved very carefully until he realized that the plants had completely stopped moving, and some were slowly, but surely, withering in front of his eyes.

As he ascended the stairs, the plantation grew thicker and thicker. As he arrived at what he assumed was the seventh floor, it no longer felt like he was in the Titans tower, but instead a jungle. He notice how some of the vines had been burnt away to make a path, and he could hear voices coming from the direction of the rooms. A sense of panic rushed over him when he realized that the bedrooms were most likely overrun with plantation as well. Was his album still intact? The one thing he held more dearly than anything else.

He had already noticed Amy and Ruby at the bottom of the stairs going further up, and used them as a distraction from his destructive thoughts. They both looked exhausted and drained, and it was clear that they both had been in the middle of whatever had the plant situation had been.

“What the hell happened?” Hal finally asked, needing to quench his curiosity with answers. How had it all started? What was it that had started? Was everyone okay?

stray & sentinel
Wally’s loud wailing and complaining was justified, sure, breaking things hurt like hell. Stray was no fan of getting hurt, and his entire evasive style was based upon that fact, but he felt little pity for the speedster considering his healing rate. Speedsters do everything fast, including healing, what he needed, Stray suspected, more than medicine necessarily was food. He’d read the calorie intake Wally’s powers required and scarcely believed it, but hey it sort of made sense. Fast cars need fuel.

His eyes caught Sentinel’s and he gave a crooked smile, imitating her small wave before going back to observing the mess that was Wally’s medical care. Stray’d have just pumped him with pain meds to get him to shut up or something while the arm got set but he was no expert so Wally was just gonna have to suffer, he chuckled to himself and pushed off the doorway, approaching Sentinel and tapping her on the shoulder, nodding towards the hallway. The poor girl looked incredibly uncomfortable and neither he nor she looked like they could help here anyway.

Violet was staring at Wally, just watching him. She had caused that pain, guilt twisting in her stomach. Why did she always do this? She never meant to hurt people on purpose but it happened anyway. Squeezing her arms tighter, she leaned back against the chair, the material creaking again. Violet hated this. She always caused pain, and could never help fix it. But that was the point right? To keep them reliant on their caretakers. Violet sighed a little, her shoulders tensed enough that when Stray poked her, he might have been able to feel it.

But that poke, or tap, caused her to jump a little. Looking up at the boy, watching as he motioned to the hallway, Violet couldn't help but gulp. This was it. He was about to start yelling at her. Or maybe he had more authority than she originally thought and was kicking her out on the curb. That wouldn't surprise her really. Slowly, the girl stood, eyes focusing on Wally again for a few seconds before she moved towards the door.

Stepping out in the hall, Violet sighed. The smell of the infirmary would take a few seconds to clear from her nose, but Violet preferred stale air over that. Her shoulders relaxed a bit at the same time her face seemed to drop even more. She had not been helpful through that fight. All Violet managed to do was hurt their ally. And she was prepared for the consequences.

“Goodness Sentinel you look so worried, and that’s saying something considering your stony face. Relax Wally is a speedster, he heals fast he’ll be fine.” Stray half laughed, “Lord knows he’s had far worse than a broken arm before.”

He leaned on the wall and let himself slide down, crouching comfortably, resting despite not being sweaty or even ruffled.

“Not anything you or I can really do about it right now.” He shrugged.

Stray's laugh confused her. Why was he laughing? Did he think it was funny kicking her out? He...he hadn't said anything about it yet. He was just telling her to relax. Relaxing wasn't something Violet did well, not in a situation like this at least but the girl tried to take a deep breath. She moved across the hall, turning so her back was against the wall and she could slide down and sit on the ground, arms still crossed.

"I guess," Violet mumbled, pulling her legs up close to her chest in an attempt to make herself look as small as possible. Stray was really drawing this whole thing out. Wouldn't it be easier to just...kick her out already? It's what she deserved right? "I'm just...not supposed to hurt people like that. It never ends well." She sighed this time, her voice still quiet but hopefully understandable. "am...I'm in trouble, right? I-I didn't mean to break his arm."

Stray’s eyebrow furrowed, was that the reason for her worry? He presumed she was just a nervous person in general but she was actually concerned she was in trouble here?

“What? No, you’re not in trouble. If anyone is in trouble it’s me. I ordered and carried out the death of Rosary P. Isley so if anyone is in trouble today that would be me...” He mused, staring ahead at the wall morosley, “I mean I don’t think any of us knew it was her and not just some plant she set on us but that hardly changes the outcome. Don’t worry though, I plan to blame it on Captain Thunder.” He turned and winked, smirking momentarily before becoming serious once more.

“No but honestly, Wally would’ve wanted you to do whatever you had to in order to stop him from hurting anyone, goody two shoes heroes are like that. They can’t handle guilt… careful girl, looks like you’re turning out like them.” And he turned the joking smirk back on.

"I'm not…" Nobody had ever said that before. Her fighting for money was different than this, she would have gotten in trouble if the police found her but she had to fight. She needed money after all. Under the care of those scientists though, even if she had been given permission to hurt someone, Violet would still be punished for winning. So this...this was really weird. Stray's attitude about it was weird.

Violet didn't seem to have much of a reaction to him telling her he killed someone. In fact, she just shrugged. "She was trying to kill us right? That's how it works." She spoke quite frankly, like it was common knowledge. Kill the people who tried to kill you first so they didn't get the chance. Maybe Stray would find it weird that she was okay with killing but felt awful about breaking his arm. "What about the Justice League?" She asked finally. They were all goody-two-shoes weren't they? Violet didn't know why Stray had called her one, she definitely wasn't.

Stray did think her list of priorities was strange, so much so that he scowled in confusion at her line of questioning. He thought for a moment before answering.

“The Justice League and most heroes in general have a no-kill rule don’t you know that?” Stray asked lightly, thinking back to her file, wherein there was a remarkable lack of information, less so than even his, which would have otherwise been the most sparse. She had appeared on any sort of trackable radar around three years ago, who or what she was beyond that was a big question mark. This girl seemed so unassuming, what secrets was she hiding?

"don't you know that?" A slight embarrassed tint of red came to her cheeks. Honestly, no. She didn't. His scowl didn't help either, Violet turning her eyes away from him as her head came forward a bit to rest on her knees. "sorry." She mumbled quietly, nails digging into her arms. Of course, this would have happened at some point but Violet had hoped that it wouldn't have until at least the third day. There was a lot she didn't know. And if she let anyone know that, it wouldn't end that well. "I...I don't really follow what they do."

Stray huffed, amused, and leaned his head back, “No one needs to be sorry for not knowing something. It’s just surprising that you don’t know... Ignorance isn’t punishable, willful ignorance on the other hand…” He mused, feeling himself trail off philosophically he pulled back, choosing to ignore the additional questions he had about her past, as it wasn’t her obligation to divulge.

“Anyhow, The Justice League and the vigilante community at large have a no-killing rule. Most follow this rule to a ‘T’, some, like Wonder Woman, have lee-way but this rule applies to people within Justice League jurisdiction. Honestly I think Wonder Woman has special deference because no one can stop her anyway but that’s a rant for another time.” He waggled his eyebrows at Violet and rolled his eyes, “So what I just did, knowingly or unknowingly, was very much so something they’ve kicked people out of their League for before.” He took a deep breath.

“Personally speaking though, I’d make the same call, and I’m not a hero anyway. I’ve had to defend my life before and I’m not against making the choice between some asshole plant and me, or some asshole plant and everyone is the god damn tower it was trying to morph into… whatever the hell Wally turned into.” Stray made a face, clearly disgusted.

She might not have said it, but that explanation was very appreciated. She knew the big names, Superman, Batman, and Woman Woman, but the others people didn't talk about much were not the ones she really paid attention to. The scientists always complained about those three, sometimes Cyborg. But once any of them realized she or the other subjects were listening they stopped talking. "I've killed before too," Violet mumbled quietly, not looking back to Stray just yet. So she didn't see anything wrong with that he did, regardless of what the Justice League would think.

“...” Stray didn’t respond to that, but took mental note of this puzzle that was turning out to be Sentinel. He casually glance down at the track marks on her arm, the obvious answer would be drug abuse. It’d fit the narrative of someone who’d killed before under the influence, but she seemed far too unapologetic about the fact for that to be the case. How would someone so young looking appear to be a completely recovered drug addict anyway? He’d seen hopeless cases of people much older with fewer marks than that. He’d bet money that someone poked the shit out of this girl. And even drug addicts had past records, especially drug addicts. This girl’s record had never been intersected with police reports of drug possession. Her case likely had something to do with human trafficking, it’d make sense, given her lack of surety about much of anything and lack of records. That level of scrubbing suggested a sophisticated operation. She had such a perpetually lost look on her face.

He had no confirmation of any of this of course, but he resolved to be more gentle with how he phrased things.

"Why do you think she did it?" Violet asked before finally looking back to Stray. "She was being rude but...it's weird she tried to kill us. Or turn us all into Wally." It wasn't an expected twist, if anything she would have expected the redhead to leave before that escalation. She wanted to ask what the Green was but...Violet felt like he'd get upset she didn't know. Despite his reassurance from before.

“Rosary P. Isley wasn’t just any old green girl from an alley in Gotham. She’s the daughter, or was, of Dr. Pamela Lillian Isley, a biologist connected with the green. Who also so happens to be an ecoterrorist villain called Poison Ivy. I’m not talking petty theft like yours truly, I’m talking wiping out the human race type of villain. So my best guess is that the League decided Poison Ivy’s little ingenue could be reformed under their thumb, considering her lack of murderous actions in the past, and ended up dead wrong. She was like her mother after all.” Stray concluded. “Some plot to turn us all into agents of the green so that the plants can rule earth, that sort of thing.” He waved his hand in the air, gesturing to the ceiling.

His silence was...unnerving. It's not like she had wanted to kill, but she was forced to. A lot of the subjects were, it was part of their training. She had expected him to ask about it, but Violet followed his eyes. The track marks. Her arms shifted again to hide them, looking down at her knees. Violet could feel her ears get a little hotter. He must have thought she was a drug addict or something. That's what everyone else thought. It wasn't true. It really wasn't but to explain the truth, she'd have to explain everything. And Violet wasn't ready for that.

So the relief she felt when he just started explaining the green girl and her mother was more than what most people should have felt. Violet nodded a little, showing she was listening as he spoke. "well that's not very nice," Violet mumbled. She understood wanting to save the trees and flowers, nature was a lot prettier than everything else. But killing everyone just seemed a bit extreme. "There were probably steps she could have taken before that." She spoke, just as her stomach growled. Her cheeks grew a little pinker. "Sorry...Rosary attacked before I could eat."

“Hey Gideon.” He announced out loud. Gideon pinged at him in response.

“Show a feed of the kitchen, I want to see if it’s still in working order.” Stray could cook, he was excellent at cooking, but if the kitchen was in too much a disarray it might be better to ditch the idea.

The video feed did show a messy kitchen, a few broken eggs on the counter but otherwise in working order, but that’s not what caught his eye. What caught his eye instead was Batman and some of the others making their way to head down. He narrowed his eyes, finding that actually, he wasn’t as confident in his ability to stare down the bat over what he’d done after all.

“I’ll make you food, but let’s take the stairs, just to avoid the bat for a bit longer.” He turned and grimaced at her.

Violet straightened up a bit when he suddenly called for Gideon. Asking for a feed of the kitchen...nobody was up there right? Wrong. Batman looked pretty intimidating if she was honest, and he also looked...pretty mad. A mad Bat wasn't a good thing. So Violet nodded a little to Stray, wondering why he offered to cook for her. Though he had already proved he was nice. Maybe that was it. "Okay...thank you." Violet would follow him once he was ready, but she went ahead and stood up. Though the girl kept her arms crossed, it made her a little more comfortable.

“Maybe I’ll make avocado, egg, and bacon toast. Have you ever had that before? It’s easy to make but tastes divine.” Stray gave a chef's kiss to the air as he stood up, leading the way with his hands in his pockets, beginning to chat about the various breakfast combinations he frequented.

Amy hadn't the chance to get into a deep enough sleep to not feel the tug at her shoulder. She was so tired though she didn't want to move, and she was so dizzy she wasn't sure her body would listen to her even if she did. She however didn't want to ignore her for being so kind, so she peeked an eye open lazily at the ginger, "Would if I could..." She yawned closing her eyes back, "Body...past limit." She'd never used so much magical energy in one fell swoop, and she certainly had never done so without an item to focus her energy. Honestly it was a miracle she was still even decently conscious.

For the first time since she'd arrived on Earth's surface she realized that she was truly in danger. even when she first met the league she didn't feel like her life was in danger despite how nervous and scared she was about being in a foreign place. Then being in Zatanna's care had coddled her because when you live with one of the most powerful sorceresses in the world there isn't much to fear. She could handle anything that'd been thrown at her, but now that protection was gone. She was now the only thing that could save her own life. Sure this was a group effort that she was more than thankful for...but what if they'd failed. If the plant got its way and took over the tower? What if she wasn't able to save the others and herself? What if she had to choose? Was she strong enough for that? So many questions slowly settling in her mind as she drifted in and out of consciousness. She was glad she'd convinced Zatanna to teach her more practical magic then stage illusions otherwise all that might have been closer to the outcome of today.

She'd have to work and study much harder if she was going to stick around the next two months because if she has to choose between herself and her team...she's not completely sure she'd choose all of them. Her primal instincts, the ones her actual parents had instilled in her because of their kill or be killed environment surfaced in her mind. She needed to be strong enough to not have to make that decision. She needed to be strong enough to know she could save them.

That started with being strong enough to get her ass up and to her room, not being a pile of jelly-limbs on the staircase. Ruby was there to help her, and she needed to take it. She heard Hal's question, but she definitely didn't have the energy to try and explain everything to him. That would have to be a job for someone more put together than her at the moment. She swallowed and let out a deep breath before opening her eyes again to the kind ginger, "Thanks." She shakily used Ruby and the railing of the stairs to try and prop herself up. God this would be the longest walk of her life.
