YC is a contract killer - because, you know, it pays the rent. Lately they have been losing all their money to [insert a problem] though, and due to that, they now have to live in a shared apartment with someone else to be able to afford living. YC is surprised when the apartment is super nice compared to the cheap prize. However, YC soon finds out that it is because people never live there long.
Your roommate is MC, who is the arrogant son of the landlord, who throws constant parties and is a general nuisance. Unfortunately YC wouldn't be able to afford moving, so they are stuck there. Despite the guy giving YC constant headaches, he does make you breakfast and help you out of a few awkward situations though... so things are getting confusing.
YC lives in a small town, were people believes in a lot of old myths (no specific religion, we make it up). During YC's whole life he has been spoonfed bedtime stories about characters who 'choose the noble path- or learn a valuable lesson in the process'. Especially your grandmother is very strict on believing the old myths, and claims that she has met a wandering spirit herself when she was younger. Therefore you were even named after one of the characters in one those old myths.
A myth called the "Loyal Lover". It was a story of a man who swore to wait for his true love to return one day. Sitting on a rock, in silence, waiting and denying any temptations coming his way. Pretty cheesy in your opinion! YC weren't even named after the loyal main character, but after his lover who disappeared [insert very unique name, you can go by nickname]. That name definitely came to haunt YC when YC started school, and he started to dislike the myth more and more. Yet when YC were younger, they did admire how steadfast the Loyal Lover would deny beautiful men- and women, delicious food and stunning festivals, in order to keep his promise and wait for his lover to return.
One evening, there is a celebration of the Loyal Lover and YC happen to see a man sitting on a rock outside town, looking out in the distance. He looks sad, so YC talk to him and introduce themselves by their name. Only when YC say the name does the man look up and introduce himself as MC - a spirit, who believes YC is his lost love.
3. - The Story of the No Goods
YC is a survivor at heart. Roaming the streets of harbour towns, stealing from restaurants and throwing profanities at guards when they tries to catch you. YC was a street boy, but with loyal friends and lots of connections. YC may even get a little overly confident with what he could get away with, through his lifetime, and had earned himself a few bruises and scars along the way. YC was also an absolute leader-type. Even more as he grew up, and no one thought he was the one who would get caught... but unfortunately, one day, it happened. He was arrested and thrown in court. Naturally with YC's countless misdeeds, he was thrown to the coal-mines, to work for the rest of his life.
It was in the mines that he met MC, who was around YC's age, and the only one who still had lively spirit in that godforsaken place. The two of them were instantly drawn to each other, making songs, and telling stories. MC was a former cabin boy on a pirate ship and the two both agreed that they would one day escape and travel together.
4. - Interview With a Killer (NEW)
YC is a reporter who have interviewed countless convicted murderers for his niche magazine. It is always interviews with criminals who have been caught, and often entirely psychopaths, but YC is an expert in dealing with those people. A turn of events appears, as he is approached by a childhood friend, who says he can give him an interview with the current serial killer who have been roaming the streets - not caught by the police. How could he turn such a scoop down?
(OBS: for this I am looking for someone who can play a character with slightly selfish morals, who takes his career more seriously than the law. Not someone who would immediately try to get the guy caught - at least not before his interview is written. Any other traits is up to you!)
5. - Re-do! (NEW)
YC went into an antique shop and picked up an item that changed his life - a wristwatch that rewinds time for up to 1 hour, with unlimited usage and no apparent side-effects. YC has been using it to get everything he wants. A test: just do it over. A bad conversation: back and change your choice of words. Slip and fall: rewind back to the top of the stairs. He has acquired such a better life already, and grown attached to the watch.
Until he meets MC at his new job, who seems to be aware of his leaps in time - always giving YC weird looks after a jump. In the end he approach YC, presenting himself as a specialist and creator of your watch, and you realise it might not have been such a coincidence that you acquired the watch after all. You are an experiment. An illegal one nonetheless.

I would love to hear about any alterations to the storylines to be presented, and I am flexible about the universes. Honestly I am the type of roleplayer who gets more inspired to write if I feel like my partner is intrigued in the rp as well.If you are interested, please shoot me a PM about which one you would like to do and your ideas moving forward. : )
