Kagome watched her leave and huffed, deciding to stay near the forest edge but hidden, in case this stupid human brought friends back. She wandered around carefully before laying down near a pond to rest, taking an occasional drink as one or two birds rested on her antlers. She didn't really care, they perched there every so often as they knew they had a friend in her. When she was little she was quite amazed by this reaction and was always happy to see them there. As she matured she mostly grew out of that excitement. She waited and listened for any new intruders to her forest.

“You got the right idea mate, now let's go look for something to drink.” Hardun said it with a more excited tone, while also feeling an itch on his nose, that would cause him to sneeze very loudly the moment Kaijin would roar. “Bloody hell, I guess the water was pretty cold today. I won’t mind if we are able to find some tea, never hurts.” Hardun began walking around remaining near Warren as to not lose track of him in the giant crowd that had slowly began building up.

It was more or less suicide but Jin was making her way back to the forest. She and her squad were given down time and they stayed in the fort but Jin was making her way to the dwelling in nothing but her army uniform and a pouch. She was not armed and was more excited than nervous. Though maybe she should be since she could’ve died the first encounter. But she didn’t and now she wanted Kagome to give her a second chance. She reached the edge of the Kirin’s forest and treaded slowly as she did before, anticipating Kagome’s arrival.

Amaris didn't even glance down at the woman's sword but simply nodded, her gaze not flinching as she didn't quite meet hers, being too smart to gaze into the eyes of a gorgon. She'd seen what they can do up close before, when she was transporting goods from Astesh to the Algos. She still remembers watching a particularly violent Bunyip turn still then into stone right in front of her eyes. Mind you, she'd prefer it if the bastard had done it before it swiped at her. Seemingly gingerly, Amaris let a soft smile take over her lips.

"Klane, it is then." Her voice was kind, somewhat gentle even as she turned to the troll once more. "Nice to meet you both..." She trailed off smoothly, waving her hand as she continued, "I'm sorry, I didn't quite catch your name, I'm afraid."

Birds chirped and Kagome's ear twitched. Opening her eyes she looked up at the bird informing her of the soldier's return. "Ugh, of course." She stood up, quickly making her way to Jin's location. Watching from the trees she made her approach, narrowing her eyes. "Why did you come back?" She asked, calm but still not too happy at her arrival. "Isn't one good luck experience enough for you humans?" She walked to her, still keeping her distance and watching her carefully.

Jin only smiled at Kagome. “I think we came across on the wrong foot. My name is Jin Lee.” She approached her and opened her pouch to reveal a red bean paste bun. “These things are widely loved by my people. We had a chef come from Gyensar-Tsun come down and make them. Do you wanna try it?”

Anonymos smiles a bit.
“Klane it isss then. Nice to meet you Amaris.”
She seems nice. Hopefully I won’t be lonely on this trip.
She slithered away, going back to petrifying ants to keep herself company.

She looked at it. An offering...? "Well....I can sense you're...not one to try and poison someone so...I'll trust you I suppose..." She walked forward gingerly, reaching down and taking it, eating it gingerly. It didn't taste bad...it was actually quite good, garnering a cute smile and a happy hum from the creature.

Jin giggled in delight. “I have more where that came from she said as she pulled out another.” One for herself and one for Kagome. She took huge bites since she was starving. “How long have you been in this forest?” she asked with her mouthful trying to make small talk.

She licked her lips after the first one and took the second. "Around six-hundred years." She replied with a bit of a mouthful, happily eating the first and relishing in the taste. Slowly sitting down (like a camel) and finishing the bun. "These are...quite good." She replied softly. "...Well since you gave me your name....I suppose I could tell you mine....I am...Kagome." She sat up proudly.

“Nice to meet you Kagome.” Jin said as she swallowed her bun. She sat before Kagome on the grass hoping to continue their conversation. “600 year. Do you ever get a break from being guardian?”

It may have been rhetorical but she didn’t have much to go on.

"Hah, of course not. Why should I need one? It is a fairly easy task and any intruder is dealt with swiftly." She replied, her tail curling around her form somewhat, her mane blue like the night sky and braided down over her shoulder, resting on the grass. Her coat like moonlight with scales on her chest and nose, an azure blue.

“If that’s the case your forest must be huge. You must have a lot of friends in there too, you’re beautiful.” she said now trying to soften the maiden deity with flattery.

She hummed, nodding. "Indeed, the creatures of the skies and the creatures of the forest floor. Even the dirt below." She looked down then to her, raising an eyebrow. "Yes, I've heard that before. It seems I am to creatures outside my kin." She replied calmly, her expression deadpan.

Arath'Amaris let her smile turn into a full blown grin, her unreadable eyes seeming to take on a different hue, giving the indistinguishable irises life for but a second. A trick of the light, one might think. She put her hand forth, the swirl of white on her skin seemingly unending as the lines reached even her fingertips. Taking Kaijin's hand, her grip was gentle, feather light but her posture said she was giving him a proper shake.

Let the games begin...

"Seems like we'll be stuck together for awhile," She cocked her head, "Are you also a merchant or were you hired to keep things safe?"

The answer was obvious but she asked nonetheless, slowly changing her position so as to gaze out towards the docks as the gorgon slithered away. She'd hope she'd stay for a bit, now that they were acquainted -- might as well get as much information as she could while she was at it. But alas, she turned her eyes to the docks, where she saw some, she guessed, merchants hopping off the Bessy. The journey was about to begin, she sensed. By nightfall they'd all be acquainted.

"Hey. Hey you dolt! Carry the glass jar the correct way, unless you do not mind having boils all over your skin!" Olga shouted at an worker holding a jar precariously with one hand.

She monitored the team of workers who were helping to deliver her supplies to the wagon train. The captain had already warned Olga to compensate for any damages done to the Bessy, and she would prefer a good start to the day. After a final checkup on the workers, she stepped off the ship.

This was not her first time in Responsia, as her homeland of Kolabia bordered this province. However, this was her first time in the seaside village of Tat, quite different from the grassland area she had visited before. The stalls set up on the harbor drew her attention, and the smell of the air carried hints of the type of spices the locals were selling.

She made a mental note to later visit a particular stall that caught her eye, and approached two merchants she was somewhat familiar with.

"Good morning Mr. Skaarbran and Mr. Al-dian." She greeted the men with a small nod. "Did you hear anything about the escorts we are supposed to meet?"

"Ah, I was hired just about on the spot to protect the caravan, not many denizens of Easux would toil with an Oni!"

Kaijin pounded his chest enthusiastically, raising his other fist in the air. He settled down a small bit, his features rested smoothly.

"So, what were you hired for?"

Anonymos pauses in her stoning the ants and watches the oni and the human, listening in on their conversation, folding her arms as she does do.

"Might as well." She mutters to herself as her hair slithers up her cheek and looks at her pleadingly. "Okay fine." She takes out a dead rat and feeds to it her hair, which begins to shallow it whole.

Jin just laughed awkwardly. She suddenly looked at her pocket watch and saw she had to go back for routine muster for her new assignment. “Crap. I have to go now. It was nice seeing you again Kagome.” Jin ensured she had her belongings and ran back to the fort.

"Hm?" She looked at the strange device in her hand and watched her go, "...You as well." She said quietly after she left, getting up and vanishing once again into the lush forest that was her home.

Surprise coated Amaris' face, despite her usual control of her facial expressions. Had the man not heard her before? Had she whispered? Was he possibly dense? Her mind raced but she ended up letting out a chuckle instead.

"I... I was commissioned to keep the mechanical side of things running" She pointed to the carts and wagons fastened to the Grootslag. As she did, she noticed yet another small thief being nipped by Argyros and sighed. "And that's my cue..." She waved to her pet, smiling and giving the slightest bow as she moved along to prepare for the journey.

Kaijin took a moment to sense the tone in Amaris' voice, but when he realized, he began to speak quickly.

"Oh, sorry, must've been a bit daft a little ways ago, my apologies"

Kaijin apologized profusely.

"Yes that should take my nerves off this journey..." Warren gave a slight smile. The town was waking up pretty fast and as he moved forward he got a better idea of the area with it's smells.
Despite the winding walkways Warren's instincts urged him to simply scale the rocks. He shook his head, damned sleep deprivation.

The it hit him the smell of malt nearby, and the smell of herbs. "Yes getting sick would be dreadful out on the trail." He turned to the tea stand inhaling the various smelling herbs. It seemed an elderly woman was in charge "Something palatable to wake me up if you would madam." He handed over some coins to her and waited.

At that time he noticed another somewhat familiar face, he decided to match her proper mannerisms "Good morning to you as well Ms.Mudwallow. I believe our ride awaits at the top of the cliff... It gives me some bad feelings though." He grit his teeth.
The woman returned with a rich red tea in a cup made of what looked to be large leaves, it smelled a lot like cinnamon. "Thank you madam." He took the cup in his hand blowing on it and giving it a sip. He clasped his mouth with his other hand briefly before playing it off with a weak smile. The drink felt like he was drinking liquid spice.

Little eyes trained their attention on the bustling port-city’s denizens. Some hurried from here to there, flitting from cart, to doorway, to cart, to boat. Onandonandonandon. From his vantage, they looked teensy tiny. Like little ants. Like little him’s. But nay. They weren’t. He could tell by the clumsy way they walked. They were big folk, all of ‘em.

The little sprite hopped up, dusting off the bottoms of his bare feet and thighs. He stretched, starting from the tips of his wriggling toes to his wings. ”Ah..! What a day, what a lovely day!”

As he spoke, he hurtled over the ledge which had provided his vantage. Wings spread to catch the wind, he floated lazily down toward the nearest group of oafs he spotted.

Time for some fun!
