Before you make a character, it is highly suggested that you see to the Lore Thread.

Character Rules and Expectations
1. Your character cannot be the following:
a. Angel
b. Demon
c. Lovecraftian horror
d. Incorporeal in any way, shape, or form
e. A dragon lord or any related feudal class
f. A direct relative of any deceased or living dragon lords

2. Your character has to contribute something to the party in some way, but no overpowered or purposely useless characters.
3. Please try and steer clear of an 'edgy' character. Tragedy in small amounts is fine, but too much as desaturate a character.
4. Don't be afraid to get creative. If you're working with a basic kind of monster, such as a dragon or serpent, be creative and add something to the mix.
5. If you are playing a monster, make sure that it has some sort of mythological representation. If you want to play a cryptid, contact one of the GMs.
6. Stick to the theme, this is a fantasy realm of infinite possibility. Have fun with it, don't go making the character that has nothing vaguely related to the setting.
7. Use an artistic depiction for a character's appearance, not a real-life photo of someone.

Personality: Jin is very no-nonsense and prioritizes many of her tasks. She is a very protective and takes something of a big sister role amongst her peers. Because she's a woman she's doubted by those who don't know her, especially in the army. But she doesn't let it distract her and focuses on doing her job, whatever it maybe.

Bio: Jin was born in rural Kolabia and spent her days in peace in a small village. She went to a school and had many friends. She helped her parents run the market and harvest crops whenever she finished school work. Life stayed the same for 14 years until bandits marched into the village and demanded tributaries. Clothing, crops, and livestock. The raids were constant and the Imperial Army was for the most part held up around the capital and the nearest garrison to Jin’s village was a two day trek. Jin and her parents had to get by on whatever crops they had and had to go to the capital which was a 1 week trek from their village. Suffice to say they couldn't make much. There was a huge influx of people from the countryside moving into urban areas such as Gyensar-Tsun which made the city crowded. But Jin and her parents stayed in the village until the bandits abducted her father. From that point on she would never see him again.

They moved to Gyensar-Tsun to try and make a living. Jin's mother worked in textiles and Jin was stuck alone in their cramped apartment. Jin spent the next 3 years of her life thieving from shops to find money to get food. Her mother was desperate so she let Jin continue to thieve as long as she didn't get killed. But at one point she got ambitious and tried to rob a jewelry store, she was caught by a guard and was taken to the super-max prison of the city, the imperial prison. Turns out the jewelry store was owned by the niece of a public official and it was where a lot of well known politicians and wealthy customers would get their jewelry. Jin was to be executed the next day. But she was saved by an uncle who was in the public service, turns out he had connections within many of the offices of the government and was able to get his niece out back to her mother who was his sister. He had paid them a visit to ask them to stay within his residence but Jin and her mother kindly denied and wanted to go back home as quickly as possible. Jin’s uncle understood and promised to convince the army to send troops out into the outer regions to protect the villages that were dealing with bandits. Within a couple weeks the army had expanded their reach and Jin’s village was safer. They had moved back to see her father tending what was left of their fields.

Jin was reunited with her family back at the farm. Turns out her father was a slave to the bandits because he was a farmer, so he grew crops for them and was treated horribly, but the army saved him. He made his way home only two days before Jin and her mother went back.

Jin started to feel out of place at the farm, considering she was gone for three years and back for another three, so she wanted an excuse to leave. There were many regions the empire hadn’t discovered and she wanted to protect others from bandits.

She went to join the Imperial Army against her parents wishes, she ran away from home and her parents were distraught.

Jin was sent back to Gyensar-Tsun as it was the closest base. Women were part of the army but that was only in the far reaches of the province. Near Gyensar-Tsun men were the only ones fit for combat roles. There were many cultural divides between the peoples of Kolabia, but the army had allowed women to enlist nonetheless. During her training, Jin was verbally harassed by her fellow cadets. It got worse when she was the top shooter at rifle training, from then on she was resented by those who had an inflated ego and it got so bad that she was nearly sexually abused by a cadet. After reporting it to the drill sergeant she was reassigned to a new camp further from the capital and the cadet was imprisoned by the MP's. In the new camp there were women for one and people there treated her with respect and although some had egos, they didn't harass Jin or the other women.

During her military training exercises, Jin showed many examples of leadership and was recommended to OCS where she developed her leadership training and capabilities. She graduated as a lieutenant and was assigned to the cadets she trained with. She's also one of the few women to become a commissioned officer in Kolabia.

Abilities: Adept with alchemy- making potion, poisons, herbal remedies, and other sorts of drugs. Olga is well-connected with both legal and illegal contacts throughout Kolabia and commonly deals with monster citizens as well. Due to her seedier line of work, Olga has made time to practice swordplay, but prefers more discreet ways of fighting.
Gear/Equipment: As an apothecary, Olga's herbalism and poisoner kits are always on her. The kits are equipped with a variety of instruments such as clippers, mortar and pestle, and pouches and vials. While she cannot carry all of her products with her, Olga has a bag containing various poisons and potions. For self-defense this lady carries a backsword strapped to her waist.

Personality: Olga is an eccentric character, that is extremely passionate when it comes to her line of work. She is both open-minded and foolhardy, daring to engage with the weird, dangerous, and creepy denizens of Kolabia. Olga is ambitious and desires greater wealth and power in order to lift her household back up.

Biography: Olga Mudwallow was born in a village surrounded by the bamboo forest of Kolabia. Her household once held a reputation of renowned apothecaries and alchemists, however a scandal involving Olga's grandfather has caused the once prestigious Mudwallow name to fall into near poverty. While her parents gave up being apothecaries and started to work more mundane jobs, Olga's grandmother passed the tradition down to Olga. On a business trip to Gyensar-Tsun, Olga was caught up in one of the active drug dens in the capital. The prodigy apothecary became known as the Black Thumb, and now has regular business dealings with the seedy underside of the city.​

Occupation: Merchant/Trader Sells the skin and body parts of monsters he hunts.


Personality:
Hardun is a rarity among Skinwalkers. Instead of being deceitful and a bad person, he is very honest and open in making new companions and friends along the way. He usually avoids fighting sentient beings unless they attacked in which case he does it in self defense, but he usually likes to talk out of it. When hunting he usually becomes a lot more quiet. He usually hunts like an animal and performs movements that are both human and monster as he may sometimes change forms if the situation calls for it.


Biography:
Hardun early life is mostly covered in mystery, not even Hardun knows much about his own past, other than his family has been absent for most if not all of his life. He was lucky enough to survive due to having picked up the skin of a human and be able to integrate himself into society until people slowly began realizing his true intentions. After some time Hardun discovered his capability in hunting and how good he could live off of selling pelts and spare body parts of the animals he hunted. With each hunt he became more proficient in both hunting with a knife and laying down traps. Though he is a Skin-walker, a dangerous kind of shapeshifter, Hardun is very open and has been able to survive all these years by asking for help and being very honest. Some might call it luck, maybe, but it sure as hell paid off as Hardun hunts in the continent of Wrine and has made quite a sum of money and began travelling to other continents and provinces in order to sell what he has gathered in Wrine and further collect more goods.​

Sunlight Resistance: As an Oni, Kaijin is much more resistant to sunlight than other breeds of troll and humanoids.
Durability: As a troll, Kaijin is much more durable, able to take more hits and recover from blows than many other individuals.
Stamina: Kaijin has high amounts of stamina, enabling him to push himself further, but that can lead to causing painful strains on his body.
Regeneration: Trolls naturally are able to regenerate lost body parts and heal wounds quicker than humans, although full regeneration can take from a few weeks to several years.
Strength: Kaijin is naturally powerful and strong, to the point of supernaturally, which allows him to hit harder and inflict more damage.

Gear/Equipment:​
Kanabo: Kaijin, like every Oni, is equipped with a large kanabo after a coming-of-age tradition. His kanabo is made from the wood of a Sugi Tree, and covered in steel studs. The grip is made from the hide of a kappa, and at the end of a steel chains rests the tooth of a nian.
Necklace: Kaijin's necklace is made of the pearls of a Shen and strung with thread made from the hair of a Futakuchi-Onna.
Loincloth: The pelt on Kaijin's loincloth is that of a Komainu, with six golden discs fastened to a rope by fibrous string. At the rear stored are different tools whittled from the bone of Koimanu and dyed red with the thorns of sorghum.
Troll-Moss: A psychedelic lichen native to Bistan but has spread through the Dragon Domains, Troll-Moss can be either chewed or eaten, which will cause different effects. If you chew it, it'll get you a nice buzz or a small high, but if you eat it, either a large high or completely stoned. Kaijin keeps more than plenty Troll-Moss in a small bag. Although, the effects seem to only work on trolls.

Personality:
Kaijin is a very confident about his abilities, to the point of extreme cockiness and bravado. This can lead to many times where he bites off more than he can chew, and ends up paying for it. Also, Kaijin isn't one to stray far from mudslinging, although he ins't very good at it, his club will do just fine. Finally, Kaijin loves to boast about his accomplishments, and with good reason, and he will always be up to tell a story or two about a beast he had fought.

Biography:
Kaijin was born secluded away from Gyensar-Tsun in a trollish village located in the mountains. There, we was raised in the ways of the Oni trolls. You were to take your chances, and act on honor and intuition. He worked as an apprentice to a blacksmith in his village up until the age of 13, where he entered a rite of passage with three other Oni. They were to slay a Nian, and take back it's canine teeth as a reward. During this trial, Kaijin demonstrated one of his many to come displays of bravado, charging the Nian headfirst. This of course backfired, and his broken horn and scars go to show it. Despite that complication, they had slain the beast, taken it's teeth, and headed back to their village. With this rite completed, all of the Oni were gifted with Shen bead necklaces, and all had come of age.

With that chapter in his life complete, Kaijin continued his apprenticeship until he reached the age of fifteen, where he entered yet another trial, this time to earn his kanabo. He was to wrestle a kappa, and obtain a sheet of it's skin to be made into the grip. He attempted many times and failed, but never went back until he completed the task at hand. After two weeks out by the rivers and streams of Kolabia, until he had finally beaten a kappa, and obtain a sheet of skin. With the task completed, Kaijin marched onward back to his village.This was to be a testament to his future campaigns of adrenaline-filled glory seeking adventures, and his many tales to tell afterwards.

For the next twenty years, Kaijin would hunt for glory alone and glory alone, felling many beasts in his wake, until he came across mercenary work, and the additional rewards accompanying it. He traveled across Easux, gaining gold and glory as he went, and many trophies to adorn himself with. This line of work was his calling, his fate, his destiny. And it suited him. He'd make many friends on his travels, and plenty more of enemies, and a plethora of stories to share with those he comes across.

At the age of 28, during mercenary work in Webrasil, Kaijin came across a month old catoblepas calf. Often seen as repulsive foul, Kaijin could somewhat relate, he was never treated best even in integrated societies. He spotted the corpse of it's mother, it's horns cut off, not too far away, a sad sight. Damned poachers. Kaijin took in the calf, and raised it for many years. He'd make sure the stench of the beast was kept to a minimum, washing off any excess greases or oils that built up on the skin. On one occasion, an attempt on the calves' life was thwarted by Kaijin. He rasied the calf as it was his own, his own giant stinky cow. Eventually, he had a predicament of naming the creature. He thought long and hard, not any name would do, it would have to be perfect. Eventually, it came to him, the trollish word for steadfast, Gakou. That was the only name that could work.

Recently, he has been contacted with escorting a merchant caravan, and a surplus of gold accompanying it, in Responia. Leaving a tavern with his Kappa Companion, they rode bounty, Kaijin with wealth flooding his senses, atop of his noble steed, Gakou.​

Stone gaze: Her eyes have the natural ability to turn anyone and any organic being to stone upon a single direct glance, immobilizing them completely. This ability unfortunately requires her to wear goggles.
High venom: Gorgons have the highest concentration of venom in the world, a single bite from either her hair or her mouth can immoblize even the toughest person, and will kill them within twenty four hours if not given a cure.
Scale Skin: Her scales make her highly tough and durable, making her resistance to things such as guns and swords. There are no scales around her neck however, making that her weak spot.

Personality: This is always the hardest of the subgroups, but I can say that her personality is pretty scarastic and lonesome, she doesn't like talking to people but will talk if spoken to. This may change during the course of the rp on my own whims.

Biography: Nothing much to say. Most of her history is clouded. She has no memories outside of the insane asylum she had been put in many years ago. Whatever they did to her there must have caused a reset of her brain because she only remembers bits and pieces of her actual life. She branched off and became a merecenary for hire at the young age of seventeen and has been doing it for three years.

With a booth located in the heart of Averapoul's lively market, Amaris trades and sells goods from her travels, trinkets, small weapons (daggers, blades), smaller parts for carts, wagons or ships, her own inventions and her skills.
Homeland: Bistan
[div class="Line"][/div] Appearance: As a human Arath'amaris is a hodgepodge of peculiar features that on their own wouldn't raise a brow in the whole of Ospua but together make for quite a sight. Her dark skin is covered from head to toe in opaque white markings - some tattoos, others painted meticulously every morning, a stranger none the wiser. Most of them visible through the thin, sheer layers of silk that drape her lean, somewhat gangly frame. Her eyes come across as slightly disturbing, as the white of her eyes are barely distinguishable from the ivory of her irides and their shape so sharp, one can't really tell if she's squinting or not. That, coupled with the fact that she has no natural eyebrows, makes it hard to pinpoint her facial expression. Her hair is also quite the contrast to her natural state as a nine-tailed fox, the dark waves falling all the way down to her knees.

Abilities:
  • Shapeshifting: Amaris can enter a room as a woman and leave as a nine-tailed fox. It's a noticeable change as her body deforms itself back into her natural state. It's painful but bearable. At least in turn, she's quite the contortionist.
  • Engineering, Drawing & Craftmanship: An inventor's greatest tool is, despite popular belief, not their imagination but their ability to make what they envision a reality. Each inventor have their own toolset, these are Amaris'. While she uses them primarily to create her concoctions of madness, they come in handy for other things such as repair- and mechanical work.
  • Sleight of hand: An art based on deception and distraction, Amaris was all but made for pickpocketing and long con magic tricks.
  • Smithing: Amaris can craft small blades and daggers, repair her own gear but that's about how far her skills go. Most of the smaller weapons she sells are bought due to their artistic design or for some special built-in mechanics.
  • Traveler's Guide: Years of roaming has armed Amaris with skills such as navigation, mapping and she's in general quite adaptable. She knows how to forage for food, how to preserve her supplies and most times she can figure out how to get from point A to B.

Personality: Despite being trained Kasai is very independent and tends to require some form a payment before she will go off scouting. Not having to much respect for Kaijin she will often not be entirely honest with any information or take her sweet time in her job unless properly bribed. Touching is also off limits for all but a select few anyone that tries should expect some rather horrific burns at best.

Biography: Kasai has lived several lives and while she was in an egg phase she was stolen from her previous owner by Kaijin. The Oni manged to train her into a an attack bird assuming she feels like actually listening to him. There isn't to much to say about her life just going with Kaijin as he has traveled.

Personality: For something of a weaker breed of Troll, Moakir is a proud individual. He'll verbally barrage anything bigger or smaller than himself with glee, though he isn't one to advocate violence. He thinks himself as something of a civilized person who'd never stoop to primitive urges... At least not while he has an audience. He specializes at smooth talk and misdirection. He can also be quite self preservative yet self loathing which means him risking his neck for someone is a big deal. Though like any Troll he can be violent and stubborn, a bit sadistic even. As much of a materialistic pain he may be he does have a 'you scratch my back I'll scratch yours' code of honor.

Biography:
As a Changeling Moakir spent only two months with his birth parents until he showed signs that he could properly shapeshift into another humanoid. His only reminder of who he was being a rather acute memory quite average for Changelings if they ever wanted to track down their true bloodline. He replaced a baby named Warren who was the only child of the Skaarbran family, a wealthy family who owned a manor.
Moakir had ended up extremely lucky with his placement as he was spoiled over the years. Until the Skaarbran's had a second child named Antony. Things started out fine, Moakir had full control over his shapeshifting. But from the moment the baby became a toddler he seemed to know something was off about his 'brother'. It went on like this for many years until Antony caught Moakir mid-shift. Moakir was an adult by this time but he didn't want to underestimate his brother and he quite liked the life he had. So he packed the items and money he thought most important to himself and left as the Manor mysteriously burnt down.
Life could only go so well from there and Moakir was kept alive by his camoflauging skills and quick learning. Along the way he developed an addiction to spirits and liquors that put a large dent in the income he had. He ran dry and with what little money and ended up stealing and working at a bar learning how to brew and mix drinks.
This lead to him getting fed up with working under someone and scraping by, he saved up for a stand which he sold miracle elixirs from is was a split chance on working depending on what it was. Though he gained enough notoriety he had to move blending into various crowds across the providence shores until he wised up and started travelling with groups if not solely for his own well being.

The Kirin are a proud and mighty race, which is why Kagome is often prideful and regal in nature. Although, due to their rarity this meant she is left to her lonesome since childhood, with only the trees, animals, and the occasional worshiper or traveler to keep her company. She has grown over the centuries into a suitable guardian for her forest, emitting purity and luck wherever she goes. Though that luck won’t save the beings that trespass into her territory.

He is relaxed with his work and is conceited in it, often boasting of his fast delivery speeds and the places he has been. In contrast of his calm nature, those that anger him may just find their nose painfully extended, and he doesn't shy away from thwacking at annoyances with his khakhara.

Biography:
Eun hails from a village of mountain-peak dwelling Tengu, he was born to the Huang clan, a family who had long prided themselves in their honour, and producing some of the community's best warriors and hunters. However, as time passed it soon became apparent that Eun was growing apart from those ideals; he had refused to harm or skin animals on hunts and often avoided training to pursue something else, running small errands from one place to another, much to the disappointment of his kin, and very much to the ire of his parents. These disagreements continued to build, until one day there came an explosive argument and he was finally cast out from the clan.

Personality: Cirio is a free-spirit among free-spirits. The depth and breadth of his sense of adventure, and sense of mischief, seemed to have no bottom. He can often be found playing silly pranks on his friends, and deadly pranks on his enemies.

Biography: Cirio is of the Great Wood, a wood amongst the already vast Dark Forest of Sisoqia. His people, the Fae Folk, remained hidden for most of history, from unwanted, prying eyes. Except when they weren’t. Faeries have often been known to develop an intense wanderlust, leaving the safety and seclusion of their forest utopia for the uncertain future offered by the outside world. Cirio was no exception.

Cirio, like many of his brethren before him, heard the call of adventure, and so set out from his home to find what the world held in store for him. Thus far, the world has yet to disappoint.
