“Woah, you didn’t quit. Uh. Cool. I’ll take that. Want one? Too bad. Moving on. So, Kohitsuji. Nice country. We live here. Capital city Yamato’s basically a county. We live here, specifically. Not gonna spout some prose ‘bout it, but places like New Oasis have to give us a run for our money—and we don't have their crime. Yakuza’s got nothing on those psychos overseas. A city is a city is a city. We don't have entire sections of it surrendered to the swamp or permanently ravaged by disaster.
Now, demons, malevolent yōkai, y’know, folklore and legend. Not nice. They make you not live. Hey, never say that anything’s just a myth. Always a seed of truth there. Always. Also, you have magic powers and are being talked at by an anime mascot. I really feel like you should be more receptive to this info, considering. Lemme lecture you more. Way, way back when, when electricity was the wrath of Raiden coming down to smite a guy for dishonoring their family and farming was the hot new trend, spirits and creatures of fairy tales were as real as the grass on the ground and the fish in the streams. HPs weren’t a thing. All the people just sucked and couldn't fight back. These beasts ruled the land, and humans just had to deal. Run, hide, or die. Maybe the occasional benevolent being lended a hand, or paw, but mostly, it was tough luck for boring normies. Or so I’m told.
What I wasn’t told was what happened to the fable creatures, exactly. All I can tell you is what’s been backed up by people with degrees who are smarter than me, which is that sometime around the emergence of Potentials, these mythical beings were sealed, leading us into our modern era.
Few records detail this imprisonment. Nobody knows how it happened, or at least no one’s who’s telling, but the gist is they were supposed to have been locked away for forever and a day, and they were, until they weren’t. The surge in real world mahou shoujo anime type stuff, the one you’re hopping onto? Yeah, those aren’t just deranged cosplayers and rabid HPs, like everyone else seems to think. You know, of course. Probably. You wouldn’t happen to be an actual deranged cosplayer, would you?
Aaaaanyways, some nasties, mostly the little guys that your great-great-great-great-grandwhatever did a hack job at sealing or something, are sneaking out, doing chaos entity things. Property damage. Terrorizing people. Mentally scarring them with images beyond human comprehension. Killing. Kill them. The chaos entity beasties. Destroy them. Beat them up, take their lunch money. Unless I tell you not to. That’s your job now. You’ve got a potential, haven’tcha?

A WORLD OF POTENTIALToday, approximately 10% of the world’s population possesses a quirk of genetics that has unlocked within them latent, untapped potential. These Potentialities can take many form and manifest in strange, often-times otherworldly ways… Humans with Potential (HPs) are born naturally stronger, faster, and hardier than their Non-Potential (NP) kin. But beyond mere enhancements, a certain subset of HPs (less than 1% of the population by most current estimates) possess unique, fantastical, and above all powerful abilities. Some move at astonishing speeds, others manipulate matter with a mere thought. Just one of them is enough to defeat entire squadrons of Non-Potentials (NPs) with little effort.
The true origins of the subspecies known Homo Potentialis have been lost to the ages. Though in (relatively) recent times, their resurgence was due solely to the actions of a handful of explorers who stumbled upon an ancient system catacombs hidden away beneath a far off city. Uncovering this hidden tomb awoke the dormant Potentiality of all humans the world over, and the NPs have been struggling to keep up ever since.
Currently there are five accepted types of Potentialities, which have more-or-less categorized Potentialities by their presentation, though they are by no means an exhaustive list, and often-times Potentialities may belong to one, two, or more different categories simultaneously. The five Potentials are:
PHYSIK
Physical enhancements with a condition belong here, including but not limited to super strength, super speed. They are by comparison the most simplistic variation.
CHIMERIC
Transformations and alterations of normal human biology, either temporarily or permanently, belong here. Potentialities concerning shape-shifting, animal chimerism, and the like would belong in the Chimeric category.
ETHER
This type of Potentiality deals in the creation of either matter or energy that comes ostensibly from nothing. Ethereal HPs can command elemental forces of fire, ice, or lightning among countless others.
ALCHEMIC
HPs with the power to transmute and manipulate existing matter are called Alchemical. Most broadly, this can include telekinesis, or more specifically, manipulation of specific pre-existng elements or states of matter.
IRREGULAR
The fifth and final category exists to lay claim over any Potentiality that does not fit neatly into one or many of the above categories. There is little that links one Irregular Potentiality to another outside of their rejection of the common understanding.COMBAT SYSTEM

This roleplay will be "PvE", with a few opportunities for Player Character Vs. Player Character if they're forced. ("Why.") Events may have their outcomes determined via dice roll, with opportunity for advantaged rolls for characters who may have some trait or ability that would lend itself well to the task they are trying to complete. The dice rolls and advantages (or disadvantages) will be determined by the GMs prior to the roll.
- 「 MORE 」COSMIC CRUSADERSYamato, Kohitsuji, is the most populated city in the world. Situated on the coast, it is an international center of commerce, culture, and some word for science that starts with a C. The sprawling metropolis, almost futuristic in its designs, can boast of millions of citizens, and among those millions are many students of all ages. The city also has many, many HPs. Though nowhere can match the unusually high density of Potential the unfortunate New Oasis harbors, this harbor city can almost match in numbers. Of course, for the few that have this power thrust upon them, there are many, many more left out. And among those left out would be you.
High school is always a difficult time. School and social life must balance, and often don’t. Let’s throw a spoonful of extra responsibility onto the pyre. Is saving the world™ a bit too much of a burden to shoulder? Too bad. Again, destiny and all that jazz. So here’s some help, instead.

here. I accidentally expanded the New Oasis Cinematic Universe again. Sorry about that. Maybe I’ll have cursed this RP by existing and it won’t go.
This is another spinoff of New Oasis: Four Heavenly Kings, that once again has little to nothing to do with the eponymous city or any characters residing there, or with any other spinoffs currently in existence, at the time of writing. The only thing they share is the core lore and time frame.
Now, a question you may have is “if this is so different from both the core New Oasis and its other spinoffs, why is it still classified as part of the extended family and not its own RP?” That’s a good question.
Moving on, this RP will be smaller than its parent. Low teens is my expectation for the cast size, with a hard, non-negotiable character-per-player limit of one. As for the flavor of magical girl anime, its ranking on the saccharine scale aims to come in a bit more bitter than a “normal” magical girl warrior series. Actions have consequences, the protagonists can lose, and maybe someone can die for that sweet sweet trauma—I mean, character growth. Maybe.

OOC RULES1. Be Respectful.
- Treat everyone with respect. If you can’t be civil you’re out. No one has time for all that.
- If a disagreement breaks out because of an in-story thing GMs will make the final call on the decision if it can’t be dice-rolled.
2. Absolutely no godmodding.
- This includes any moving of characters without asking ooc.
- This includes any implying that a character did something or didn’t do something without asking if that’s how they would react.
- If a post can’t be finished without knowing what another player would do then ask them or turn it into a collab.
- If you have been given a warning your post is void until the godmodding has been removed and will be yeeted back to you in a PM before being deleted from the thread.
- If we do not immediately catch that you have been godmodded please pm us.
