From the shadows, we do work that even regular ninja shun. Assassination, sabotage, backstabbing, treaty breaking.... We call that Monday, and we still have a week to fill.

To the village, ANBU are immortal, there are always more, and if you kill a shadow, another merely takes its place. If only it were actually true. Recruitment for ANBU Black Ops is constant and draining.

After the Chunnin Exams had passed, a new generation began to rise. Shinobi we have had our eyes on ever since they began the academy. Not everyone is cut out to be ANBU. Heroes, emerging leaders, and bright stars have no place in the black veil that truly protects the village. But a talented ninja no one else has missed, perhaps an orphan, perhaps the fourth son of a noble clan, no one of interest, they might just one day disappear and become a fellow shadow.

Right now, I hate to admit it, but right now we're hurting for ANBU in a way we've never had before. Someone is hunting the shadows. It seems like every day, someone else fails to report in. And what's worse, something is off in the village. Assassinations we did NOT commission have been happening. The head of the Hyuga, found dead. The Hokage has tried to quell the anger of the heads of the clans in the village, but it can only keep up so long.

Welcome to Naruto: In the Shadow of the Broken Moon! Yeah, Gan's running another Naruto RP. Those are still fashionable, right?

Anyways, this is an AU Naruto {No cannon chars} in the Hidden Leaf. The RP will focus on new ANBU recruits, plucked straight after chunnin exams, on the trip back from the Hidden Mist. Each of them failed, but performed well enough than an ANBU agent appeared, and told them to give up their regular lives, they were being pulled into ANBU. Fake an injury, disappear, quit, whatever it took. Officially, they were no longer regular ninja to all who knew them.

That said, there still will be squad structures. Three man cells with a captain who will occasionally help in the mission, and train those under him.

I really could use help if people want to run ANBU captains. They'll be like regular Jonin senseis, but every player must run a new recruit as well{And they won't be on the same squad}. If you run a captain, I expect you to be helping me run missions as well! But the help will be immensely appreciated!

Lore info, you can find both Senju and Uchiha in the village, neither's wiped out/gone the way of the panda. Feel free to be from whatever clan you like, or no clan at all. Again, alternative universe, so, no cannon chars.

I'm really flexible on what people want to run, but this RP will require some sort of stealth proficiency. Whether it be acting skills, hiding in shadows, being really fast, or genjutsu, up to you! Working on character sheets.

There's a conspiracy in the Leaf, and half the fun will be unravelling it!

Ninjutsu
    Chakra Pool - How much chakra do you have, how much power can you put in your techs?
    Chakra Efficiency - How fast can you use handsigns? How complex a jutsu can you get off?
   
Taijutsu
    Speed - How fast you are.
    Strength - How hard your hits land.
   
Genjutsu
    Complexity - How strong is the genjutsu, and how hard is it to break out of?
    Casting - How easily can you get it off? How effective is your trigger for illusions? You still need an obvious hint for it going off, but as this gets higher, can change how, such as using perfume, or your eyes glowing as you stare at someone, or less handsigns.
   
Tools
    Sealing - What's your storage capacity for how many tools, and how strong are you with sealing jutsu overall? High stat turns you into Tenten.
    Tool usage - How effective do you use your tools? Do you throw or cast your tools quickly?
   
Stealth
    Hiding - How well can you hide from others? Also affects substitution jutsu and the like
    Sensory - How good are you at detecting other ninja? The strength of sensory jutsu goes here.

How to Build a Character:

You have 40 stats to spend on 10 areas, to determine how good you are at things.

Every mission, I hand out points to spend on both.

On stats, you have 40 to spend, but don't count the overall categories. Those are for your overall skill in an area. If you have 8 speed, and 2 strength, your taijutsu overall is 5. It's a quick comparison on how you stand against other taijutsu users. The other guy has 7 strength, but 1 speed, his taijutsu is 4. You are theoretically better at taijutsu, but have vastly different styles. Also, you only spent 10 points here.


Your jutsu, you have so many jutsu points you can spend{12 starting}. B-rank costs 4, C-rank costs 2 points, D-rank costs 1, and E are free, etc. I'm assuming everyone has all the E-rank ones from the academy. Feel free to run jutsu by me to get their rank.

Yes, and there's a stat specifically for it. Sealing stat is for how much you're carrying in general, and use of seals.

But grab this tech.

Unsealing Technique

A technique used by shinobi to unseal what was sealed within a scroll, or in the anime, a sheet of paper. In Rock Lee's Springtime of Youth Full Power Ninja Chronicles, this technique is referred to as Weapon Summoning (武器は口寄せ, Buki wa Kuchiyose).

There's some lore stuff I'm getting up for the village, but likely doesn't affect anyone. Hyuga get some jazz {KageYuuki convinced me to make Hokage from branch family for drama}, and I know AtlannianSpy is wanting an Uchiha.

Anyone else down for major clans btw? Or anything that would relate to other chars? People can come from same squad if wanted, but I leave that to the players.
