A Cheshire grin painted Tony's face while he watched Eskarne look back over at the empty space. He held back a chuckle, and forced himself to look all about the room, but even he knew that Eskarne would obviously put two and two together with little time needed. It was Tony for Pete's sake. Tony took another glance back at Eskarne, and was met with two fingers to the head. His thoughts instantly flickered to the idea that she'd make a jest of him, and kick his ass there and then, something Eskarne had done the year prior in a combat training exercise lead by the would-be leaders. Tony gulped for a moment, and his sweaty palms clasped even tighter on the briefcase in his left hand, but at her words, he let out a breath. He pealed her fingers off of his head, and his cheesy smirk seemed to find its way back onto his face.

Eskarne was right, Tony was noticeably taller in his return to the Royal Intelligence Academy. His hair was done looser, with less mousse, and the smell of cologne now radiated from his person. Even his grip on Eskarne's hand once he'd removed it from his forehead seemed tighter, and stronger than usual. Now, Tony hadn't magically became a ripped, jacked bodybuilder, but he was noticeably taller, surpassing himself last year by a couple inches or so, and his voice was definitely deeper. "No, Eskarne, I went this whole day without taking a look at myself in the mirror." He retorted sarcastically, one hand in his trouser pocket, and the other over his briefcase. A splash of his ego was in his voice, as his expression painted him as visibly proud of his transformation, much due to puberty and testosterone than actually working out. "I'm damn near your height, Esker." Tony snickered, and this time he'd brought two fingers over to her forehead, something he definitely wouldn't have been able to do the year prior due to his struggling height.

His cockiness all seemed to fade though at Eskarne's next words. Instead, he piqued a brow, mouth gaped slightly at her suggestion. Eskarne was well aware that Tony hated running, or any physical activity for that matter, yet she threatened him with it! His mouth scrunched up along with his eyes furrowed in anger, he couldn't believe it, nor could he decipher whether or not she was being serious or not. Tony huffed and puffed in his place, "Well played, Esk. Well played." He thought to himself, but as of the moment, he still managed to appreciate the fact that he was up in their little game, whereas Eskarne had only just spoken words. That seemed to settle him, and calm him down in place as his eyes drifted back onto his fellow recruits. He took in the wary expressions of most of them, the uneasiness and nervousness that the whole welcoming process brought them. Tony could've sworn he was never this afraid at his arrival.

He just shook his head in the same fashion of a middle-aged teacher disappointed with their class. He would've continued analyzing the newbies, and old faces if it wasn't for an all-too-familiar voice in the background. It was Jax, his newly fledged house leader. Along with Eskarne, he loved pranking Jax all too much. Jax was one of the more chill, and flexible leaders (though he did get serious when it came to important business), unlike the Willow types, and more drastically, Bigby. He gagged at the idea of being lead by Bigby, likely restrained to a thick and heavyset rulebook of do's and do not's. Jax's methods were very unorthodox, but always seemed to have some truth and efficiency to them. Still, Jax's bad-boy aura only piqued Tony's interest all the more, which had made him the victim of a good amount of his pranks also because he was in his house, and exposed to him so often. He loved to break that cold, and hardened shell Jax loved to radiate, and in doing his pranks and jests, he'd even gotten to learn more and more about Jax.

The crease of a smile formed itself at Jax's words, and he turned his heterochromic eyes towards Jax. "Heeey, I can hear you, y'know. Nice to see that even with your new house leader job, you've still got your old babysitting one too." He looked over at Ashton with those words, and let out a chuckle before reeling his back to where he was standing upright before. Tony liked Ash's aloof personality, but with just how much it seemed to bother Jax, he often poked fun at Jax for it. Mentally though, Antonio jotted down the fact that Eskarne and Jax seemed to have a morning coffee, and were even in the process of formulating a nightly snack as well. He kept his ears opened, playing off his eavesdropping as just looking over the common room again. He hoped to set records with the pranks he'd be pulling this year!

She eyed him with a warning look before settling herself down. As the new leader, she now had to put up with maintaining reputations and wearing faces that would surely tire her out faster than physical training. Eskarne never cared much for it, allowing her actions to speak for her and then using her words when it was needed. Now, the heaviness of responsibility and the reputation of the Royal Intelligence Academy laid upon her shoulders. She wondered how long she will be able to hold it, but as she scanned the faces of her old comrades, the weight didn't feel so heavy anymore.

Eskarne visibly relaxed as she stood between the two Hearts. Whenever Jax and Tony were around, they always managed to bring smiles to break through Eskarne's mask, even on her darkest days. Tony had surely brought the three of them closer together and within a year too.

Through the midst of this, Eskarne interjected. She noticed that look anywhere; the way Jax's eyes softened... She knew he understood what she meant and she inwardly sighed to herself. Jax was not a fool. He was not ignorant or thickheaded like the other guys that roamed the Academy's halls. Eskarne shouldn't have tried to be discreet about it with him, especially with their history together and almost nothing can get past Jax.

[div class=dialogue]"Aren't you going to get tired of seeing me, Jax,"[/div] she answered, her smile never wavering. Eskarne said this as a means to tease the guy, but she was worried at the same time. She wasn't the most talkative individual and couldn't keep up an interesting conversation like most of the people within the common room could. She didn't want to bore and trouble Jax.

Eskarne switched her attention to Aisling, who had to be the only female Eskarne was most familiar with among the others in their age group. Judging from the helmet tucked beneath her arm and the disheveled hair, Eskarne figured Aisling used her motorcycle to travel to the Academy instead of taking the usual black cars issued by the organization themselves. Aisling's defiance against the Academy was amusing and one of the things she admired about her.

[div class=dialogue]"Thanks,"[/div] she began, [div class=dialogue]"but it would have been interesting if you had joined Ace with us."[/div]

Calypso Alanis
[/div] [div class=textbox][div class=scroll][div class=text]It was overwhelmingly warm in the small room. It got to the point that the blonde could no longer force herself to lay still and allow her body to rest. Instead, she ripped the blankets off her thin frame and stared up at the blank ceiling, just taking in the sheer emptiness of the four-walled room. It was different from what she had grown used to in her previous years at the school, sharing a space with another person. But now that she was alone, she realized that there was too much silence. It was like an itch that could never be satisfied and it made her uncomfortable. Her mind wandered to uncomfortable territory and she soon lost the urge to be in a bed.

Swinging her long legs over, her bare feet touched the cool wooden floor and sent a chill through her warm body. It was an alarming difference in temperature but she welcomed it and allowed it to ground her troubled thoughts. Forcing herself up, Calypso found herself approaching the bathroom, opening the door and shutting it behind her as soon as she was in the room, almost as if she was keeping herself hidden from prying eyes. Turning to look at her reflection, she noticed the dark circles under her chilling colored eyes, causing her skin to look even paler than usual.

It wasn’t really anything she was concerned about, but she did know that it would most likely be alarming to the new students that she would see. The thought of being around new students and having to be a leader was still unsettling for the woman. She had no desire to be a leader, but couldn’t bring herself to decline the position. It wasn’t like she was particularly good or inspiring, not like her peers. They seemed to have fans all around them, admiring them, striving to earn their praise. Calypso, on the other hand, seemed to scare and intimidate everyone in the school.

Shaking her head, she forced the thoughts out of her head and pulled her shirt off her body. The dark purple scar still managed to startle some part of her every time she saw it, the jagged edges reminding her of how close she was to losing everything she had as a living creature. It caused her stomach to twist uncomfortably, but her face didn’t show any form of concern or emotion. It was, uncomfortable to say the least.

The woman’s shower had turned cold by the time she turned it off, grabbing one of the towels to dry her body and hair rather lazily, not exactly knowing what to do with herself. Grabbing some clothes that seemed to have a β€˜leader-like’ air to them, she managed to get dressed before room service arrived. Breakfast wasn’t exactly on her to-do list, but she thanked the woman and ate most of the meal, not really paying attention to the taste of it.

She wasted as much time as she could in her bedroom before she left it and slowly made her way towards the common room, a list clenched tightly in her hand as she mulled over the possibility of not showing up. While she simply had no desire to be social or interact with anybody, her legs still carried her to her destination, which led to instant regret. There were a lot of people, all of whom were mingling amongst themselves. Calypso observed several classmates of hers that were huddled together, enjoying conversation, catching up with each other and discussing their summer vacations. Normally she wasn’t the type to even consider doing something like that, but in that environment, she felt rather singled out for being someone that had little interest in small talk.

It seemed like she was going to be forced to entertain some form of a conversation with someone until she noticed a familiar figure among all the students, old and new. Ashton Crowley, someone that managed to worm his way into Calypso’s daily routine without her even noticing it. There had been occasions where she attempted to shake the male off, isolate herself, but the consequences were more troublesome than him hanging around her work area or testing out new gear.

Taking long strides across the room, she barely managed to acknowledge her fellow leaders before she was beside the tall student, taking note of his appearance. Now, he wasn’t the best choice, considering he shared Calypso’s lack of social skills and the ability to have small talk, but his presence was comfortable and familiar to her. And at a school like theirs, that seemed to be a blessing. β€œYou look questionable.” The comment wasn’t one to really strike up a conversation, but was mostly to point out the fact that Ashton hadn’t exactly dressed for the part of being a leader. Still, she couldn’t help but admire the lack of effort he put into himself.

Manon Demore
[/div] [div class=textbox][div class=scroll][div class=text]The fresh taste of blood washed across her tongue as her head came in contact with the window of the car, effectively waking her up from her long nap. Her eyes felt heavy and swollen as she opened them, barely able to catch a glimpse of the academy before she closed them again, leaning back against the seat. Her body seemed to protest every movement she made and even the gentle swaying of the car as she was brought closer and closer to her β€˜home away from home’ if you will. Her summer hadn’t exactly been as fun as she would normally make it out to be, talking about France and how beautiful it was, and how she got to be normal for once.

This summer had been entirely different. She had been put to work for the entire time, having spent more time in the training room of her β€˜father’s’ work than anywhere else. She was drilled constantly, tested, and talked down to. The confidence that she radiated whenever she was at school had dwindled to a small spark over the weeks of her vacation, having been beaten down by a man she admired and respected. Though it seemed that she wasn’t what he had expected her to be by her second to last year.

The pressure had been almost unbearable and she was tempted to reach out to her friends from the school, maybe visit them and get some normalcy, but she had refused to go that route, and simply endured her additional schooling. Manon was no stranger to physical discipline, and frankly, had grown used to it, but as she got older and stronger, the discipline also grew into something else. Standing there and taking the hits, it did more than simply injure her body, but it also bit away at her desire to prove herself, which wasn’t something she ever felt.

Still, she worked hard and tried her best to please him, to show that he hadn’t wasted 14 years of his life training some brat he found on the side of the road. But it still wasn’t enough. She wasn’t enough. Grimacing at the thought of her final sparring lesson before she departed for Germany, the car slowed into a stop and the door was opened for her. The sun was bright and caused the student to wince, having a difficult time adjusting to the natural light. She briefly thanked the driver before she headed to the back of the car and grabbed her two bags of belongings.

Unlike many students (especially new ones), Manon traveled light, practically only bringing her clothing and some personal items that held some meaning to her. She walked comfortably into the building, familiar with the route to the board that would show her the dorm assignment that she got for the year. It was pretty much the same thing every year though, she never knew who she was rooming with. This year was no different. By the time she arrived at her dorm, her roommate was already gone, her half already decorated.

Sighing heavily, Manon tossed her bags onto her bed and opened them to grab some clothes before she hit the shower. Bruises decorated her skin and she winced as she showered, her ribs rather sensitive to touch. But she was used to a bit of pain and didn’t feel the need to swing by her medic friend to patch her up. Still, when she looked at herself in the mirror, prepared to put on some makeup, she found herself frowning at the bruising around her eye and jaw, along with the large split down her lip. β€œWell aren’t you a looker today.” Smiling at herself, she proceeded to get ready, still wanting to look the part of Manon Demore.

She did her best to cover up the injuries, settling for wrapping her hands to hide the nasty bruises and splits that danced across her knuckles. The reason she was rather rough to look at was due to the fact she had gotten two hits landed on her in rather vulnerable spots and her father was less than pleased. He saw to her corrections personally and didn’t let up until the girl was able to defend herself effectively. This, however, took a rather long time and it was only when Manon snapped that she actually tried to protect herself. She had been sent to her room shortly after and was told to pack for her flight the next day.

Once she was finished getting ready, the student made her way to the common room, excited to reunite with her friends and see what they had gotten up to over the summer. There was no one in particular that she was dying to see, maybe Jax, but she was still just happy to be around other people. As soon as she entered the room, a comfortable smile formed on her lips as she wandered through the mass of students, comfortably introducing herself to those that her bold enough to flag her down. It was refreshing and entirely missed, that was for sure. She just hoped that the feeling would last.

Aspen found a quiet corner in the common room. She had always been a shy person but seeing so many people at the same time was overwhelming as heck for her. there were a ton of people she had interacted with, none of which she actually remembered. At first, she was kind of feeling under-dressed, Kyle and Bigby were both wearing suits. Not exactly the same vibe as her flannel shirt. Eventually people showed up wearing a variety of clothes which relieved Aspen for a bit. Throughout the commotion, she had found out that the Blonde that she had seen earlier was called Willow and that she was one of the leaders of the House of Spades. She chuckled at it. Willow and Aspen, its a freaking tree convention right here. Any chance of her ever asking Willow out was out though. First, she was a rookie, and Willow was a leader. Second, and more importantly, she was dating Bigby. And Aspen really had liked the first impression she had gotten of Bigby. He was confident and suave, and Aspen was not. At this point, Aspen realized that she going down a thought spiral and jerked herself out it.
This had coincided with the entrance of a girl wearing almost all black with a leather jacket. She had her hair cut short and was kind of quiet. Aspen sensed that she would get along with that person although there would have to be a first contact somehow. The leather jacket girl had glanced momentarily at Aspen and Aspen had tried her best to shoot a smile back. She had not had the chance to talk to any of her fellow rookies. She was shy about it, and in her mind no rookie would have guts to put themselves out there. She realized sitting in the corner was not going to do her any favors. She needed to get up and talk to someone. Choosing who to talk to came down to three options, Kyle - the leader of diamonds who had talked to her earlier, Aria - one of the leaders of her house, OR Locke - another one of house of hearts leaders.
She went over the options in her head. Kyle would have been the easiest option considering that he had already acquainted himself to her. Locke was talking to someone the corner. Aria was just getting out a conversation. Kyle would have been the easiest, but had Aspen wanted easy, she would have been at Brown University. So, steeling herself, she walked over to where Aria was standing, extended her hand, and said with the most confident smile she could muster at that point.
"Hi I am Aspen Zimmerman. I am a first year and I am going to be in the House of Hearts."

[div class=container][div class=title]Jax Crowley[/div] [div class=subtitle]Mood: It's Complicated | Location: Ash's Room | Interactions: nios nios | fin fin [/div] [div class=Jax][/div][div class=box1][div class=text1][div class=scroll] Jax chuckled at her insinuation, there were a lot of people he interacted with on a daily basis whose very existence seemed to drain the very life out of him, and Eskarne was definitely not part of the list. If anything, she and a select few others, were the only exceptions. The cure to his hangover, the relief for his migraine, the heat to his muscle cramp - you get the picture. So the thought of ever seeing too much of Eskarne felt comical; could you ever get too much of a good thing? In Jax's opinion, the answer was no (can you see the years of substance abuse on his horizon?).

"There are many things I get tired of. You, you could never be one of them." He cast his gaze out towards the crowd that was slowly forming in the room, not wanting to linger on what had to have been one of the most cheesy things he's said to someone during his entire time at the Academy. Dammit Jax, you're losing your edge. He inwardly kicked himself for feeling so weird telling the truth , especially when that was one of the things he prided himself on.

Brow unconsciously furrowing, Jax shoved his hands somewhat angrily in his pockets; the weight of his lucky switchblade in his alongside the cool metal of his cigarette case provided a much needed grounding effect for him. He had no idea why he was having such a hard time talking to his old friend all of a sudden but it was irritating the hell out of him. Jax wasn't the type for small talk in the first place, and making good overall impressions wasn't something he concerned himself with, but perhaps it was because of his general flippancy towards strangers & acquaintances alike, that he had such a hard time being amicable with his friends. He sighed. Seems like both the Crowley brothers had gotten the short end of the stick when it came to being vocal.

Jax was grateful for Tony's interjection, giving him an outlet to direct the turmoil that was his emotions. At the mention of the 'baby' he was responsible for, Jax's eyes shot daggers into the back of his brothers head. Nineteen fucking years old and the man dressed and behaved like a toddler! A scowl scorned his face as he gave up trying to cast a telekinetic attack on Ash from across the room, turning his attention back to Tony and Esker.

"It appears I was born into the position,"He heaved a sigh, " But between you two pains in my ass, your pranks don't give me nearly as bad of a headache as that abomination over there."Jax said with a smirk, jabbing a thumb in the direction of Ash who had just been joined by another ray of sunshine by the name of Calypso. His smirk turned into a small wistful smile as it appeared that all of his favorite people seemed to finally be making their appearance.

Almost as if on cue, in entered Manon in all her bold, colorful and slightly beaten up glory. He internally winced at the thought of what kind of hellish summer training she'd gone through, but knew that he really didn't want to know. Just like Ash's training regimen had always remained secret, Jax figured it best to keep the same dynamic with Manon in fear of him saying something that would ultimately disrespect both Manon and her teacher. He had discovered things were often better left unsaid when it came to the things combat specialists went through to hone their skill, knowing that they are all in some way fighting their demons and it was a dark process in order to get them under control.

A memory of the time he'd joined in on one of his father and Ash's training sessions at the gym they'd been a part of growing up flashed across his mind; he's been to the brink of death and back over the last few years of Academy missions but never has he ever felt such a deep fear, depravity and rage as he did on that day. Ash had claimed that he had no clue what Jax had been referring to but Jax refused to give in to that part of himself and had focused on his true calling which was definitely (and ironically) helping people and not hurting them.

Jax physically shook the memory off and rose an arm up to wave Manon over, the action forcing himself out of the past and back to the present. "Hey, Manon! Seems like you've made it through the summer in one piece,"His tone was neutral, if not a little bit amused, but his eyes were disapproving. Half the damn House of Clubs needed to be hit in the head with a freakin' club in order to learn some sense of self preservation, Jax thought bitterly to himself. He would never understand(or admit that he has some himself) ,the self destructive tendencies of those in the combat class but he did in the very least know that no amount of lectures would change them and had just accepted the fact that injuries and PTSD might as well have been in their job description. The only thing he could do to help was offer his companionship and medical skills.

[div class=title]Ashton Crowley[/div] [div class=subtitle2]Mood: Hungry/Excited | Location: Common Room | Interactions: ukiiyo ukiiyo [/div] [div class=box2][div class=text2][div class=scroll] Ash was in love..... With his sandwich. The tender sponge of the bagel mixing with the smooth buttery spread that had seeped into the dough was enough to emit an audible moan from his lips. Salty bacon snapped in his mouth with each bite, creating a blissful harmony with the soft delicacy of the folded egg that nestled in the warm embrace of the golden toasted bagel. The eggs had been whipped to perfection; fluffy and perfect in consistency, Ash could taste the mild variances in spices used. Sea salt, cracked black pepper, some cumin and a hidden fourth ingredient that tied it all together.

Utter. Heaven.

Ash hadn't even realized he'd closed his eyes and sunken down in one of the loveseats located around the room until a familiar voice interrupted his last bite. His eyes lazily opened, his head rising to get a good look at a very much welcomed distraction: Cal. His face lit up as a huge, goofy grin spread across his face. In a world full of unsalted chips and sugarless candies, meeting Calypso had been like stumbling across a bag of Grippo's Salt 'n' Vingar Chips and a bag of sour skittles in the same day (two of his favorite snacks). He found her extremely amusing to be around and felt most at ease in the semi-awkward, semi-comfortable silences that accompanied their rendezvous's.

"'Tis always better to be a question than an answer." He replied, taking the time to ponder his words while finishing the last of his sandwich. "Well, definitely more fun at least." Ash said with a shrug, looking down at his bare toes and spreading them into the plush flesh of the area rug that adorned the majority of the room. His feet loved to be free, his toes needing to breathe; shoes made his feet heavy and he felt like he couldn't control his body movements as good with them on. Ash might not have liked climbing much but the reason he'd even been interested at all had been because he'd wanted a pair of climbing shoes that had separations for each toe as a child, and his father had bought them for him only on the condition that Ash put them to use and actually learn to climb. Needless to say, there's a pair of climbing shoes in his closet and a few years of terrifying scaling/climbing experience under his belt.

Ash looked up from his feet and refocused back on Cal. "Did you make me any new toys over the break?" He asked, eyes lighting up like a childs' on Christmas at the thought of being gifted with a new gadget or gizmo to play with.

House of Diamonds

Location: Common Room
Interactions: Eskarne ( nios nios )
Mentions: Tony, Jax, Ash, Eskarne

Aisling just rolled her grey-blue eyes slightly at Tony's babysitting joke. It hit the mark spot on, it was one thing she'd figured out about the twins pretty quickly- as a general rule Jax would be the one fretting and sighing, whilst dragging his brother around, while Ash on the other hand really didn't seem to care about any of the same things his brother did and would be far more content just left to do his own thing.

At Eskarne's leadership remark Aisling shook her head, taking another swig of coffee. They'd had this discussion many times before. The first time had been when the announcements went about applying for leadership positions for the next year. It was the most hotly debated topic amongst the to be nineteen year olds attending the time. For the most part it was applications based, and the powers that be looked at the applications and decided, but the high ups had been known to wild card and give the position to somebody who hadn't applied. It wasn't mandatory to take it, but very few refused.

Aisling had decided that she wasn't going to apply. She wasn't even sure if she qualified. Leaders were required to have started attending the Academy at fourteen, but to the best of Ash's knowledge she had started at fifteen. And she didn't see herself as the leader type either. She couldn't imagine herself in that kind of role, with the responsibility of so many people's lives, training and wellbeing at stake. And let's face it, would anybody really want to be led by the amnesiac? She'd voiced these reasons to Eskarne before, but the other girl hadn't given up on the idea of their more unorthodox trio in the House of Aces.

"It would have been interesting yes" she began, readjusting the helmet under her arm "but in a bad way bad idea. I'm really not made of the leadership material the up-highs are looking for. And the three they did pick for Diamonds are definitely more deserving of the positions."

[div class="button"]Episode I
Selene Fei
House of Spades Leader
[div class=content]
THERE ARE SOME MOMENTS in life that one simply wants to bottle up and keep forever. To carry around like a pocket momento. At least, it was something Selene wished possible as she sat on her window seat, cocooned in blankets, watching the sun peak over the horizon. She basked in its faint haze, welcoming the reprieve of its glow.

Although Sel was a creature of the shadows, and not a morning person by any metric of measurement, it had been a difficult couple of nights. Plagued by nightmares, she found herself waking up terrified; heart racing and sheets soaked in perspiration. As of late, she’d been avoiding sleep entirely, dreading the monsters that danced in her head. Monsters she had made the mistake of thinking were gone. However, as the sun rose, Selene felt an odd sense of peace. Relishing the calm and quiet, she found herself dozing off, sinking into the true serenity of much-needed rest.

☽ ☾

ONE WOULD THINK THAT Sel would’ve been used to the ringing of the morning bells, but that was not the case. The girl woke up with a start, nearly jumping out of her skin, as she leapt to her feet and instinctively reached for the knives hidden under her bedside table. Disoriented and annoyed, it took a couple of groggy blinks for her to recover her bearings.

Academy. Morning. Orientation day.

Right. Today was the day the Royal Intelligence Academy would be bringing in first-years, recruited from all over the world. The best, brightest young minds of the century. Fresh meat. In truth, entertaining a bunch of over-eager freshmen students was the last thing Selene wanted to do. Especially in her sleep-deprived state. Nevertheless, shirking her responsibilities on her first day as leader would do little to help; after all, she couldn’t exactly nap in the detention centers.

Utilizing all of her will power, Sel trudged into her bathroom and to begin preparing for the (long) day ahead. A quick survey of her disheveled appearance in the mirror told her she had her work cut out for her, but first (as always) she made a plan. Two minutes to brush her teeth, then another to wash her face. Five to work through the knots in her hair and ten minutes to dress, accessorize and put on a quick swipe of makeup. (God knew her eye bags were deep enough to bury a body in). She managed to make herself look somewhat presentable in a little under twenty minutes, performing each task with a calculated precision. Upon a second glance, her reflection passed the test. Noticing the time, Selene readied herself to leave, just as the bell to her room rang with what she assumed was the day’s breakfast.

Sel opened the door, greeted the lady warmly and promptly dumped the tray down on her desk. Food dulled her senses and she had to be in tip top shape today. New people, new information. What others saw as a mere social gathering, Selene saw data. Ever the opportunistic observer, she readied herself for a long day of mental note taking.

Although...I suppose an apple wouldn’t hurt.

Eyeing the fruit with a look of resignation, the girl hesitated briefly before making a grab for it. Perhaps a little sustenance wouldn’t hurt. Slipping out from her room, she made way for the common hall, absent-mindedly crunching away at the apple all the while

Upon entry, she easily picked out Alta and Willow, who seemed to already be chatting away happily. Probably about their summer vacation. What would I say? Selene wondered, suddenly a little self-conscious. She hadn’t gone home to see her family. Hadn’t travelled anywhere outside of the occasional mission she’d be dispatched to carry out. Don’t be ridiculous, she mentally berated herself. Alta and Willow were her friends. Two of the few people she could wholeheartedly trust with her life. Even if she hadn’t exactly told them every detail, they knew enough. A semblance of the truth was better than none at all.

β€œI’d ask how summer went for the two of you, but I think I already know the answers. Willow was probably too busy talking to Prince Charming on her phone to leave her room. And you, Alta, quite surprised I’m not reading about how some poor teen blew herself up β€˜cause she was bored to death.” With a slight smirk, Sel carefully picked her way out of the crowd, heading for the couch on Willow’s right. β€œAnd, before you guys ask me, my summer was fine.”

Willow had been trying and, ultimately, failing miserably at trying to keep track of all of the names of incoming students when people began making their way into the room. Instantly, the swarm of names that she had been trying to burn into her mind became completely useless as excitement flowed through her veins. She was about to stand when she felt a soft kiss on her cheek and a soothing voice wishing her a good morning.

"Bigby!" Willow blurted out rather loudly, her cheeks immediately flushing red with embarrassment. The year before, she would have bounded over that couch and directly into his arms but she knew that an act such as that would reek of unprofessionalism. Instead, Willow awkwardly cleared her throat and stood up from her seat on the couch, just in time to be met by Kyle enveloping her in a hug. Willow giggled, wrapping her arms around Kyle and returning the hug.

"Oh my gosh, Kyle! I missed you so much! I'm sorry your summer was normal, how absolutely lame is that?"

As Kyle moved on to greeting new students, Willow turned her attention to Alta who had just entered, somehow looking more beautiful and elegant than she had when they left for the summer. Somehow, Willow wasn't surprised. After all, her best friend was a Spade and that was kind of their thing. Willow bent over, giving her friend a hug.

"Alta, my goodness! We have to catch up later, it feels like I haven't seen you in forever!" Willow said sweetly, pausing when Selene entered and very accurately described her summer.

"Aw come on, Sel, you know I'm Prince Charming, Bigby's totally my Cinderella. Get it right!" Willow teased, completely used to the sarcastic tone of her friend. "I bet you missed us so much and just won't say it." She added, ruffling Selene's hair playfully before turning to the group.

The students that had arrived were a mix of old and new faces. Willow wondered who was who, trying to guess who belonged in which house. The anxiety that had bubbled up within her earlier was gone, replaced with pure excitement. Willow had been asked to make the greeting announcement and although she wasn't entirely sure what to say, she decided to go for it.

"Hey everyone, welcome to the academy, or welcome back for some of you!" She began, her voice loud and clear. "My name is Willow Anderson, one of the three leaders of the House of Spades. I've been asked by the academy to give you all a quick rundown of how things are going to work so here it goes. And returning students, make sure to stay and listen because a few things have changed since last year."

Willow took a deep breath before speaking again, trying to sort out the thoughts that were jumping around inside her skull. "So in case you guys are new or need a refresher, the school is divided up into four sections or 'houses' as we call them. When you received your letter, you should have been told what house you are going into. Our houses are Hearts, who are our medics, Clubs, who are the combat experts, Diamonds, our techies, and the Spades, intelligence. While you will do the majority of your training within your specialty, you will also be taking classes and working in and with the other houses.

While our academy has professors, the agency very much values student lead learning. That means that you will be mostly taught by the twelve leaders, three from each house. The leaders are the best the academy has to offer in their senior year. We are here to help you, to support you, and to sometimes kick your ass. We are not your parents so don't expect babying. But we are here to help you. Our leaders are myself, Alta, and Selene from the Spades, Jaxton, Locke, and Aria from the Hearts, Bigby, Eskarne, and Ashton from the Clubs, and Kyle, Tokko, and Calypso from the Diamonds. If you need help, be it with another student or with classes or anything in between, we're here for you."

Willow took another short pause, looking for her next words. "There are a few ground rules to the academy. The number one rule is not to kill another student. While we all have, or will have the ability, we do not allow the murder or intentional harming of another student outside of simulations and practices. The second major rule is to keep your performance, academic and physically, up. If your grades and results slip below a fail, you will be removed from the academy or face punishment. Ultimately, you are here to train and to learn. That being said, there's nothing wrong with having fun and enjoying your time here so make sure to keep a healthy balance."

Her brow furrowed, wondering if she forgot anything. Willow's index finger shot up as the thought came back. "Oh! Speaking of fun, we'll be having our annual welcome ball tonight! Don't worry about formal clothes or anything, the academy just likes fancy names, the dance is casual. The festivities begin at 5pm in the great hall. Until then, please find your room on the lists posted on the wall or ask one of the leaders for help. Get to know your peers, you'll need their help in the coming weeks and months. Feel free to explore but please remain in the dorm hall, the custodians can and will hit you with a mop handle if you walk on their freshly waxed floors. So yeah, go have fun! You'll hear the clock chime at 5pm for the dance."

With Willow's speech done, she greeted a few returning students and made her way over to Bigby, her serious 'I'm a Leader' face replaced with her dimpled smile and glistening eyes.

"Good morning," She said softly, wrapping her hands around his waist and pulling him close, her head resting on his chest for a moment. She looked around for a second too see if anyone was looking before then rocking up onto the tips of her toes and kissing Bigby gently and quickly as to avoid the looks of any of the students remaining in the common room. She then pulled fully away and leaned against the back of the couch behind her. "We've got some pretty good prospects this year, I'm excited. I was actually kind of nervous about the whole leader thing but I think it could be super interesting. I'm just happy to be back, summer was so boring, even with my brothers constantly keeping me busy." Willow stopped speaking, laughing softly. "And there I go, rambling again. How are you this morning? Excited?"

"I'll have you know I don't always blow things up, sometimes I just race," she responded, casually tucking a bit of hair behind her ear," Besides, it would be super inconvenient for me to be blown up before the start of the year, then who would be around to keep you in check? Can't have you losing that good old worry-wart spirit." Willow spoke up to address the whole room and Alta regarded her with a smile. As she talked, Alta knew her friend was going to make a fantastic leader that year- it just came so naturally to her. Speeches like this were just the tip of the ice berg when it came to Willow's leadership skills. Alta knew she wouldn't be quite as eloquent of a leader or teacher, but that certainly didn't stop her from gaining her position in the House of Aces. She was still a bit shocked herself that the academy had chosen her as a leader too- she had applied for the position hoping she would get it but she hadn't been too stressed about it. After all, she did have a habit of breaking almost every rule and guideline she came across, and now she would be one of the people who were in charge of those exact rules and guidelines. She wasn't shocked in the way of not believing that she earned the role- she was incredibly skilled at things that the House of Spades values after all, and she'd never shown herself to be adverse to challenges- but more in the way of knowing that her professors and the House of Cards trusted her with helping her peers become better students and professionals. She'd made some of their lives a living hell in past years because of her rambunctious and curious nature, as well as numerous pranks, but apparently they had been willing to see past any animosity they held towards her. You certainly weren't going to hear Alta complain about that, though. When Willow finished up her speech, she looped around the room before ending up near Bigby, gaining a definitely over-dramatic, long-suffering sigh from Alta at their affection. It seemed like Willow had tried to make kissing him subtle, but subtle they were not- at least in Alta's book. "You guys are adorable, and it sickens me to say it," She said, her tone light-hearted," especially since I still don't know how double-o-wannabe here managed to woo you." Waving at them a bit teasingly, Alta stood and gave the crowd around her a first real look. Her eyes found Eskarne and Aisling talking not too far away, and she headed over. Eskarne and Alta were friends for sure, no matter how unlikely the pair had seemed to their peers at first. More often than not they got along quite well, especially since they could just sort of... exist together, they didn't always need to talk, a perk for two people who aren't so great at communicating sometimes. Aisling she didn't know as well, but they'd interacted a few times over the years in classes, on missions and the like. Alta respected her for her ability, and was definitely more than willing to talk machines whenever they did. The young woman may have had to draw some lines when it came to her motorcycle though, simply to keep it road safe- some 'upgrades' that Alta proposes aren't always good ideas beyond the paper. LIONHEART

bigby hemsworth

Bigby clasped his hand tight and firmly around Percival's hand. While keeping his calm, and relaxed disposition, Bigby analyzed Percival's person. Sometimes he wished he had the fantastical spyware of the movies, glasses that could read and analyze surroundings, and display any needed information. In that moment he imagined a heads up display of Percy's statistics: name, age, house, and more. But that was technology of the future, at least for now. He'd have to follow up that interest with a member of the house of diamonds. Right now though, his eyes thinned slightly at Percy's initial hesitation, and the sides of his lips creased at the other boy. Percy, to him, didn't seem like someone who was all too nervous or afraid of this new life he'd be living. Instead, Bigby could read the surprise, and awe of Percy, and the wanderlust to see what else the Academy had to offer if the common room and its members were this elegant.

Bigby jotted down Percival's name in his head, and repeated the name a number of times over for it to really stick. "Oh, well seems your in the right hands. I'm Bigby, and this is Willow." He turned his eyes towards the blonde, but she was already busy with her friends, Selene and Alta. He'd never admit it to them, but Bigby felt at ease knowing Selene and Alta were always at Willow's side. He and her closest friends may not have agreed on everything, but he knew that if Willow were ever to get into a mix, she'd have friends very capable of helping her out of it. "You'll meet those two later. Alta, and Sel. Both some of the academy's finest leaders, along with Willow and I, of course." Bigby finished. The loquacious side of Bigby was tempted to come out and explain the intricate curriculum the academy had in the years he'd attended, along with what they had planned this year with their recently promoted leaders. He was shy of a word once he heard Willow speak behind him, and begin the general introduction speech. He quickly quieted himself, well aware her introduction was coming as it was one of the things she'd rehearsed with him the night before on a voice call.

His eyes followed Willow's sweet, strawberry blonde locks. Hearing Willow's voice in the same room as him after the two month hiatus was something that seemed to serenade his soul, and put him at ease. At closer look, one could even see Bigby's eyes near shut as he took in Willow's words. There and then Bigby was enticed to just rise from his seat, and hug his lady from behind, but even he knew that was drastically out of line. Willow had worked hard in all her years at the academy for times like this where she had to lead, and speaking publicly was definitely something important for a leader. Bigby was well aware too, that this was only the beginning for Willow.

He held back a scoff though once she'd mentioned the welcome ball. It only reminded him of when he'd first arrived at the academy, and unaware that it was casual, had clothed himself in one of his favourite tuxedo suits. Needless to say, that suit was no longer his favourite, he'd trashed his first year ball pictures, and had began packing a pair of jeans and tops for the welcome ball even though they were out of his comfort zone.

At the end of her speech, Bigby brought his hands together for a soft applaud. His hazel-grey eyes were glued to Willow, sticking to her as he watched her near his place on the couch. With her embrace, Bigby felt at ease, and eyes shut, he returned the hug with a tight squeeze of his own. They were still shut at Willow's kiss. He wasn't expecting it, and instantly tensed up, but following the split second of surprise, Bigby was at ease. It'd been way too long since he had felt the gentle press of her lips against his, and caught the faint sugared smell of her hair.

Bigby could only stare into Willow's bright green eye, full of energy and charisma as she spoke. Even with her "boring" summer, Bigby sure as hell wished he could've spent every moment of it with her. He planted another kiss on Willow's forehead at her rambling, a side-smile painted onto his face.

"Seems you've got the excitement all under control, Willow." Bigby started, but nodded shortly after. "I'm excited to whip the newer lot into shape. Show them that this isn't always diamond chandeliers, and tea parties." As he spoke, Bigby's glanced back towards the gathering students. He looked out mainly for the members of the house of clubs, and noted the former members he could still recall. "I'll call it... Bigby's Bootcamp." He decided, and while he was saying it, he'd brought out an open palm, and waved it in front of his face as if the words were being painted as his hands advanced. "But in all honestly, I'm more interested in getting out of here. Going on the leader allocated missions. Using the knowledge we've gained in our years to do something." Bigby had always been fascinated with what the leaders were up to whenever they disappeared for days, or even weeks on end. The missions were always classified, but it never stopped a young Bigby from imagining it all.

"What do you think?"

House of Diamonds

Location: Common room

Mentions: Eskarne, Willow, Bigby, Alta

Before Aisling had a chance to continue further or Eskarne had a chance to answer, Willow began the opening speech. It was sure to be the first of many that year. The Academy loved giving speeches, be it to students on entry day, mission briefings (which had a tendency to turn into the overseers monologuing, or at least it had often turned out that way in Ash's experience). Listening to her, there was no doubt she was a Co fidnet public speaker. Aisling had nothing against Willow, but since she spent most of her time glued to Bigby's side or lips, Ash hadn't exactly gotten into the habit of hanging around with her.

The speech was a variation of the classic opening speech. A greeting, introducing the House leaders, laying out the ground rules for the year, explain how the teaching was a mix between professor led and student led and announcing about the 'ball'. It was really just a minefield of awkward socialisation for the new fish, and Ash had spent her first year ball listening to music and people watching, which was more than likely what her evening today would consist of. She'd even made sure to re-organise and re-do her playlists in preparation.

Speech over, everybody turned back to their conversations, picking up exactly where they'd left off. Ash hadn't had a chance to check the roommate list yet. Her roommates the past four years had been fine, with the exception of one who had created the loudest snores known to humanity. But that problem had been solved with a pair of heavy duty ear protectors worn near plane turbine engines. With Eskarne being a leader, there was no chance of them sharing, so Ash just hoped whoever it was would be sound. Her belongings were already in the room, having been brought along ahead of her.

The sound of Alta's voice near her, addressing her and Eskarne was a pleasant one. They had talked pimping and 'improving' rides on many occasions, but as Ash quite enjoyed being alive, she'd passed on some of Alta's more extreme ideas. "Good to see you're still breathing too Alta." She greeted her with a smile and nod. "You know me, a good bike equals a good summer on the road." It was no secret to those who'd been in the Academy for a few years that Ash spent her summers motorbiking.

Calypso Alanis
[/div] [div class=textbox][div class=scroll][div class=text]A small smile tugged at her lips as she looked at the student would was devouring his sandwich. His expression was as dorky as the last time she saw him the previous school year. She couldn't help but feel a bit lighter as she listened to his peculiar words, crumbs sticking to him like he was a little kid. Their relationship was rather odd but she found it comfortable and somewhat happy. She felt like she could trust him more than the average person and she felt strangely accomplished whenever he tried out her new gadgets. "Did I make any for you to try?"

The question was a bit unexpected, as was the sparkling expression that came from Ash. Rolling her eyes, Calypso crossed her arms and leaned back slightly, as if pondering over the question. "That depends. Are you going to be my test dummy this year?" She knew the answer even before the words left her lips, but she liked to hear him talk, even if it was only a little bit. It was amusing, seeing someone as quiet as Ash talking excitedly to another person always managed to catch a bit of attention. But then again, people from her own house were shocked by the fact that she had friends that she actually spoke to and interacted with.

However, the conversation was cut short by another leader who began talking about the school and everything that was going on. Calypso's smile disappeared from her face as she listened to the blonde, not really absorbing anything she was saying. It seemed like it was the same thing every year and she tended to zone out each time. The student only briefly raised her head when her name was called, but that was it. For most of it, her cold gaze was focused on the carpet or shifting over to Ash, trying to find something interesting to just look at. At the mention of a dance her head immediately lifted, dread noticeable in her features. "Are you going?" Her words were hushed as she leaned closer to her friend, trying to decide if it would be worth her time to stick around and go to that. She wasn't one for school functions and generally would find a way to escape it as soon as possible.

It wasn't that she didn't like the events but she didn't like the fact she had to participate in them. Dances and whatnot were great because it meant the school was relatively quiet and young woman could focus on her work in peace. But since she was a leader this year, she wasn't able to skip out on things anymore. She was an example and as much as she hated to admit it, she had to act the part. It wasn't ideal and it certainly put a bad taste in her mouth, but she didn't think there was much that could go wrong on the first day. Plus, she could always go to her shop and hide out there until five.

Manon Demore
[/div] [div class=textbox][div class=scroll][div class=text]A familiar voice cut through the crowd of students and immediately caught the attention of Manon, distracting her from her current conversation. Jax had managed to spot her and was already flagging her down. A bright smile formed on the girl's lips, despite the pain of it, and she excused herself from the student and marched over to the medic. He was one of her favorite people, dare she say her best friend. She found herself very fond of Jax and she knew that he would always be there for her, which was reassuring in her case. She didn't have many people she was close to, especially not ones that brightened her day like that boy. Their spontaneous sparring sessions and lectures were something she had grown far too attached to but it seemed like her feelings towards them weren't going to change.

"Made it through the summer? Of course I did." A comfortable laugh escaped her as she finally got close to the tall male and was able to take in his appearance. "You worried about me or something?" Her voice was teasing as she gestured to her bruised features, mostly meaning it in a joking way. Manon would be lying if she said she didn't want at least one person worrying about her. It made her feel rather special and cared about, which was something that made her feel way better, especially after her summer. "But enough about me, what did you accomplish? I didn't hear from you at all." The French girl hadn't heard anything from any of her friends over the break, her 'father' having restricted that sort of contact over the warm months.

She wanted to talk to him more, but Willow started the speech to welcome all the new students. Frowning slightly at the fact she had to actually pay attention, Manon turned to listen to the blonde, watching her struggle to grasp her wild thoughts. Or at least that's what it seemed like. The speech was a lot preppier than it had been in the past, but she figured that was better because of all the new kids at the school. Once she finished explaining the schedule for the day and bringing up the dance, Manon clasped her hands behind her back and looked at Jax. "What are you going to be doing until the dance? Anything interesting?" She didn't have many plans herself, except maybe going to the sparring area and doing some personal training. Or take a run, that was a possibility. Though she doubted that the twin would follow her, especially since he had his other friends that he was quite close to, some of which did not get along with the girl.

"I'm probably going to do some training stuff if you are bored at all." She couldn't help be lightly punch the boy's arm, mostly because she didn't know what else to do in that situation. While she was a very confident person and very proud of being close with Jax, she did sometimes worry that she caused other people to be uncomfortable or avoid interrupting their conversations. She wasn't the best at making and keeping friends so she did try her best to be good and keep her friend happy. "Maybe you can patch me up later today, just so I don't look too intimidating at the dance." A playful smile flashed across her face before she took a step away from the male, interested in going back to her room to change into something more comfortable so she could focus.

Her mind was a bit muddled, even though she had tried her best to get out of the mood. She just needed to burn off some steam, at least that's what she assumed she needed. So she wanted to do just that.

[div class=container][div class=title]Jax Crowley[/div] [div class=subtitle]Mood: Semi Excited | Location: Common Room | Mentions: nios nios ukiiyo ukiiyo [/div] [div class=Jax][/div][div class=box1][div class=text1][div class=scroll] Jax visibly relaxed when Manon approached, an easy smile fixing itself on his lips." Hmm, I'm only worried about you when you're not close enough for me to fix you up if you need it."He said with a soft chuckle. It was true; Jax only worried about his friends when they weren't within his radar as he likes to call it. Currently his radar spans about a mile and a half around him, which means if he's notified of anyone needing medical attention within a mile and a half radius around him he can make it there in a decent enough time (this is only if he's on foot - his radar opens up when motorized transportation is involved). It wasn't that he didn't have faith in his friends' abilities, its just he had better faith in his own if things went south because he knew he would do anything in his power to help them.

He hadn't realized he'd been clenching his fists in his pockets until Willow's voice shook him out of his thoughts. Jax half listened as she went on about how awesome this year was going to be, completely downplaying the fact that all of these fresh newborn freshmen were about to undergo a significant psychological transformation here - and that was putting it nicely. He remembered his first year at the academy; he'd been arrogant and standoffish, thinking that just because of his background and his mysterious acceptance into the renowned school was enough to prepare him for what was in store. Needless to say, it wasn't. And he'd wished that someone had told him outright that in order to survive in this field you were going to have to push yourself past your limits and bust your ass just to get through the year. Well, then again it wasn't all bad. You did meet some decent people and develop some useful skills along the way, he just didn't agree with the rose gold colored lenses that seemed to be put on whenever the concept of espionage is portrayed. They weren't all James Bonds and his hot little side pieces, all smiles and unrelenting charm; the sad fact was that there probably wasn't a single person there who hadn't experienced trauma or tragedy.

He sighed and tuned out the majority of the speech, though he did find himself straightening up a bit when his name was mentioned amoung the other leaders - much to his own annoyance. At the mention of the dance that was coming up that evening caused him to emit an audible groan that thankfully wasn't too loud to draw attention. Him and dances were an odd mix. Jax, by himself, wasn't much of a dancer - he just couldn't cut loose quite enough to look comfortable busting a move. However, Jax plus Ash plus a smuggled int flask on the other hand, that was the equation for one hell of a party. Fortunately, Jax hadn't partook in the yearly tradition between him and his brother to bring enough alcohol to get blackout drunk at the Welcome Ball. Unless......His gaze shot sharply to Ash who was sitting with Cal across the room.

The thought was erased by the sound of Manon offering her companionship before the dance. The offer was tempting, even more so after she said he could patch her up - he'd been itching to see the extent of damage she took from her summer training, mostly out of curiosity to see what kind of interesting injuries she sustained from her hellish regimen but also out of concern. He wanted to make sure that whatever training her master had her doing wasn't causing any long term damage.

"Don't tempt me with a good time," He said with a small smirk. "I'll meet up with you in a sec, " Jax turned back to Esker. "So, I'm sure I'll see you out on the dance floor tonight. Poppin' and lockin', right?" He said jokingly. Maybe he didn't do so well at dances, but he did like the fact that it was an opportunity to see his friends 'out of work'.

She knew his chumminess was a slow burning change in his prickly personality, and the small signs of discomfort never went without notice. Eskarne, for one, could relate. Her own edginess smoothed over overtime as she bettered her relationships with her peers. Though, she continued to struggle with bettering herself. It was still difficult to get used to- being outgoing when one's naturally introverted. Eskarne simply replied to Jax before being pulled into another conversation:

[div class=dialogue]"Likewise..."[/div] Followed by the same gentle smile.

Aisling's response was always the same, or at least, along the lines. The previous year when the announcements were sent out Eskarne spoke more often than usual about it. In the midst of their morning coffee, Eskarne had occasionally encouraged the girl to apply, but Eskarne ended her advances after a short while. She'd taken Aisling's reasons into account as she would have done the same for Eskarne. Unlike her, Eskarne sought this as an opportunity of redemption. She had hidden her craving to prove herself trustworthy and reliable from the others. She believed this was her mess- her burden. She troubled herself with the thoughts of being unworthy of her place in the Royal Intelligence Academy due to her many misfortunes in the past. When Eskarne was appointed as one of the Club leaders, she relished in her achievement- floating in the clouds of sweet relief of finding a sense of control in her life.

Eskarne glanced at the Diamond leaders. They were capable of their positions, and Eskarne had no doubt that they would live up to the expectations laid out for them. However, Eskarne had trust that Aisling would do just as well as they would- if not more. She disagreed no matter how many times Aisling said it- relentless in what she believed. Eskarne spoke one last time before the welcoming announcements commenced. [div class=dialogue]"I'd have to disagree,"[/div] she said with a fire in her eyes, [div class=dialogue]"you would have made a strong leader for the Diamonds-"[/div]

Eskarne continued once the announcements ended, [div class=dialogue]"...I would prepare yourself, Ash. This year will be the busiest and I found a few new places we can visit."[/div]

Now that Eskarne had more responsibilities this year her schedule would be busier than ever. She wanted to try to find some type of balance between her Ace duties and social life... Eskarne inwardly snorted. Using the term "social life" seemed a bit far fetched when it came to Eskarne. When it came down to free time, it was typically spent with tiring herself in the training hall, having morning coffee, and trying new things with Aisling. Then there were the few occurrences of running after Tony or Ash... At least now Eskarne had new things to look forward to nightcaps and newly opened cafes in the nearby cities.

[div class=dialogue]"I'm not quite sure. The boredom almost got to me. Blown anything up lately, Alta?"[/div]

Alta Tan... A daredevil and one of the reasons for Eskarne's high blood pressure and many migraines...

Eskarne looked across the room, wondering where Alta originally came from and immediately spotted Kyle in the crowd. A knowing look crossed her face as she looked back at Alta. Eskarne knew of her friend Kyle's undying obsession over Alta and was also one of the reasons behind his relentless efforts. She would have felt bad whenever Kyle would return to her in blood bruises and rejection, but she didn't. It was too amusing for Eskarne to stop... and probably the only way Eskarne could get back at Alta for all the times she had given her a heart attack.

[div class=dialogue]"I'm sure Kyle is thrilled to see you-"[/div]

Eskarne quickly held up a finger to gesture "one moment" before lending her attention to Jax. He brought out a sudden laugh from her, a hand falling in front of her mouth to shield the grin spreading across her face. [div class=dialogue]"Oh wouldn't that be a sight to see,"[/div] she said. Eskarne was not the greatest dancer unless you considered brutally maiming someone. [div class=dialogue]"Mmm. Maybe if the room's dark enough and I've had enough alcohol in my system... but we'll just have to wait and see."[/div]

Eskarne panned over to Manon and quickly took notice of the amount of makeup and bandages riddling her body. [div class=dialogue]"Hello, Manon,"[/div] she greeted.

She frowned as she took in her appearance once more and then glanced at Jax, knowing he would want to patch the girl up as soon as possible. [div class=dialogue]"I would take it easy, Manon. It's only the first day."[/div]
