"Lower my heart rate? Yeah fucking right. Get the Fuck Out." That was all she said before she was forcing the intruder out rather aggressively, and boy was she ruthless. She was already tired of these people even talking to her. She preferred the grime ridden streets with basically no population, with the occasional feral cat.

So, with her head burning and aching, she laid down in her bed so she could be ready for class.

---

The first day was hell, she was beginning to comedown with a cold or something or other. It was to be expected, since she was an entirely new environment with different bacteria. Plus all these people. Any of the upperclassmen that tired to poke fun at her met a face full of fist, well a throat full. She quickly walked off as they were convulsing on the ground from the sudden vocal cord damage.
She was probably going to be expelled by the end of the year, a disgrace to her father. So, that's why she hit and ran, to not get in trouble. Though she hated being a coward.
She also hated cooking.
And English,
Along with 'Support and Civilian Life'.
Lunch, Heroism, Safety and Control, and History.
She trudged through the classes with her increasingly depressive state, and eventually she was bed ridden by the time the first mission was available. She cursed her weak immune system, until she saw the aftermath of the fighters. Her immune system could handle a cold, but whatever that bubbling shit was on their skin--She could live without.

---

Finally, her first mission. One that didn't include giant insects that weren't friendly little caterpillars. She may be able to crush people like bugs, but she didn't exactly like crushing bugs like people. Then he mentioned costumes, and oh how happy she was to hear that word. She wasn't just lazing around being sick while she was out! No, never, well, maybe most of the time.

She had spent an hour or so designing a pretty simple outfit design, and gathered the necessary pieces. Two hours should be enough time to put it together.

It was. Yes, it looked very nice, but the boots were a little off. She had planned for them to help her to withstand high pressure due to her jumping ability, and therefore would have even a little tech to help her land safely. They had about thirty minutes before they had to be there when she asked Izzy about it.

"Hey, uh--Don't mean to bother you or be a dick or anything, I know you totally got your own thing and this is out of the blue. But, could you maybe make my boots be able to handle me jumping and landing? It can be--Temp, Shit, you know I can't say that fucking word hold on...Tem par? Por, ary. Temporary. Haha! Fucking genius over here. Sorry! Shit, I was going off, will you help me?"

---

After bonding time with Izzy, they were standing, ready for their second mission, well her first. She was excited, maybe a little over excited. Because she was the one who stepped into the chamber first, and with the white light blinding her she suddenly felt weightless. It took her a moment to learn why. Thank heavens for her quick reactions, as she landed like Iron-man before he went into battle, creating a huge meteor in the ground around her.

Great, she'd probably cause the city more problems than she's actually worth. She was quick to move with the screams though, people screaming for their life. Her legs began to move on their own, jumping and running at inhumane speeds, her super strength focusing on her legs until she jumped one huge leap. Glass was falling down, shimmering in the sun like gleaming rain.

The sight was almost beautiful, but she was falling with them, and faster than them. Thanks to her weight, yeah, she was glad glass didn't weigh like a 100 pounds, that would suck ass. She landed as the larger shards were, rolling a few civilians out of the way, using her own body as a shield. Yeah, she got a few cuts, didn't fucking matter though. Everyone was not in immediate danger for their life now, and took minimal damage. Course, a few people got hit, she's not superman. She had asked a man if medical help was on the way, thank god there was, because she could now go to work.

She looked to where the wayward ball was now going loose in the streets, and then to the building.

She made a choice.

She jumped up (It took a few floors before she was actually there, and some of the skyscraper was definitely damaged--But no one needed to know that, huh?) , rolling onto the floor, or near the floor where the ball hit. She was busy gathering injured people, getting them on the ground as fast as possible. She carried each one bridal style as she jumped down, going back up quickly and repeating the process a few times.

It took a few minutes, and the ball was probably already a mile or so away, but she had made sure everyone who needed medical attention would get it.

She then waved to the thankful people, pushing her feet to the ground and jumping up at an insane height, going to chase the ball again. She just had to follow the wreckage.

There was no denying she was fast, and seemingly trained for battle and fast reactions. She may not be good at cooking, or English or god forbid--History. But here, running with her singular pony tail tied neatly, swaying as if it had no physics under the extreme speeds she was going, her hoodie already having failed it's job of being an awesome cover of her hair so she could battle better. It didn't matter. Everything was so slow compared to how she was thinking, she was happy like this, her lungs begging for her to stop, her legs aching, but her heart swelling with pride.

It was worth it.

She saw the ball come into view, and she sped up even further, her boots complaining under the pressure. They weren't going to last much longer.

"Aah, that... doesn't look good," Naoto uttered in the shape of Leon as the monster gradually began to die down in a grotesque manner, blood foaming from its mouth. And then, like a final act of revenge, it produced a great big black ball that didn't look exactly safe to be near.

"Hey, what's tha--"

"Look out!" Haruo exclaimed, instinctively making a move to stand in front of Min when he realized it was bound to blow any minute now.

BOOM!

Fortunately, it seemed that both Haruo and Min were no less for wear, but Naoto wasn't so lucky, feeling a sharp prick afflict her arm. "Ow!" They exclaimed, still maintaining Leon's form, not even sure what just happened. However, quickly looking toward the source of their pain yielded spotting a strange spike embedded in it.

"Are you alright, Naoto?" Haruo asked, looking over himself and Min to make sure they were both okay, before centering his attention on his roommate.

"Agh, yeah... I-I think so," they said, morphing seemingly inadvertently into their default female form, "I think I'm okay. Whatever that thing hit me with though, I guess it was like a small poison or something. It's really itchy!" Naoto exclaimed, reaching forward as though intending to try to pull the spike out.

"I guess I should just try and pull it o--OOOOUAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGH!!"

That turned out to be a bad idea.

Naoto reeled in pain as they found the afflicted area in their arm was quite painful to the touch; it seemed even scratching it to soothe the itchiness was a bit much. Haruo, trying to mask his underlying exasperation with Naoto, imagining them as being the kind of person who touches the oven when it's on, cleared his throat.

"Well... Hopefully, it's not too serious. Let's get you and the others to the clinic fast!" Haruo exclaimed as Min opened up a portal back to the school.

...

Whoosh.

"I don't really need to go to the clinic right away, do you think?" Naoto asked Haruo as the two of them stepped out of the portal, still scratching the infected area of their arm and wincing through the pain; it seemed that scratching it wasn't quite as satisfying as they would have liked.

"Can you even get there on your own?"

"Are you saying I'd get lost?!"

"I'm saying you'd probably just collapse sooner than you'd be able to find it."

"It's really not that ba--WHAAA?!" Naoto began to exclaim, before suddenly getting bubbled against their own will by Ms. Lainhart. "H-Hey, lemme outta here! I can get there on my own! O-Oh God, this is embarrassing!" They whined, to which Haruo could only look away with a dry sigh.

...

"Uuuuungh, Haruooooo..." Naoto whined lowly like a zombie as the toxin progressed the following hour, afflicting them with a terrible drowsiness. Haruo himself, even though he wasn't infected, stuck around out of concern for... well, mostly Naoto, but may as well throw in the rest of the infected while he was at it.

"What?"

"Get me... a coffee..."

"... I don't think a coffee's gonna help you much with that, dude," he said. Calling them "dude" in a gender neutral term, of course.

"Pleeeeeease..."

Before Haruo could answer again though, it seemed like their waiting had finally come to an end and the squad had finally arrived to extract the spikes embedded in all of them, and surprisingly painlessly at that.

Naoto grimaced upon seeing the boils they had gotten their hands on as a result, complete with nightmarish tendrils popping out of them, unable to bear looking at them for very long.

Indeed, all's well that ended well, at least.

1571882270272.png
And with that, the week passed rather sleepily, to the relief of Haruo and Naoto, if no one else. The scare from that giant monster was enough to render them breathless for a few days, needing some time to recover from that ordeal. Heroes did that kind of stuff just about every day, didn't they?

But alas, that peace didn't last forever as it was unceremoniously announced to all of them that they'd be partaking in another mission this time. An actual, official, sanctioned one this time at least, but still, Naoto wasn't quite sure if they were ready for this. What if they got hurt like this?! Of course, that was probably in the text when signing up for an academy like this, but still! Well, whatever. Not like they had much of a choice. Haruo was similarly reluctant, but relinquished to the idea quicker than Naoto.

"... Oof."

That was all Naoto uttered as they got dressed in the super suit that they settled with. Even if it might not matter that much since, if they'd be forced into a position where they'd needed to make use of their powers, they'd have to change into different forms anyway, and that meant changing their clothes too. Naoto's enthusiasm was wasted!

All the while Haruo didn't seem to care quite as much for getting a costume, but figured he may as well because why not? Something practical, he figured, though maybe things like extravagant capes were going out of style anyway.

With that, as the two hours passed and the two of them waited outside the teleporter, they stood dressed in their new suits, both of which sported a rather similar design. What, did they have the same brand of superhero suit makers or something? Both of them were form-fitting costumes with black lines running across them, designed in mind for ease of movement and practicality. That was why Haruo picked his outfit out. Naoto picked their outfit out because they thought it looked cute.

1571883083810.png1571883089754.png

"Don't they have a gender-neutral version of that? You might not be able to fill that out if you accidentally switch into your male form while wearing that," Haruo commented as he looked at Naoto's pointedly female variant of the design. "Though, actually... I guess if you already fill it as you are..." He snarked, holding his chin facetiously as he spoke.

"Oh, shut up!" Naoto exclaimed, getting the joke before Haruo could think to finish it, "That won't happen! Besides, it won't even matter that much they make me do anything. But you gotta go out in style! Look at yours! Boring black and white! Make it stand out a little more!"

"Bright colors will make the enemy see you faster. Why would I want to stick out?"

"It's just a ball! How bad could it be?! No worse than a giant caterpillar monster, I'm sure!"

"Let's find out then," Haruo said dryly, before resting his hand on Naoto's shoulder and unceremoniously pushing them into the teleporter once it was their turn in order to make sure they didn't hold up the line with their banter. And with that, they were off!

1571884713364.png
...

Sighing in resignation, knowing there was only one way to get through this, Haruo popped his knuckles as though getting ready to move. Not that he was exactly sure what he'd do immediately, but... Well. An idea popped into his head, but he'd need the ball to slow down now. It was a risky one, but he'd have to do something. But before that...

"Naoto!"

"Got it!"

As though reading his mind, Naoto knew instantly why he called out to her. If nothing else, they'd have to do something to get the people in the area out of immediate danger. With that, they morphed and took Alaric's form, zooming off. Of course, the speed they channeled couldn't hold a candle to what Al was actually capable of, but it had to be enough! Pushing the civilians out of the way that Wen might have missed, Naoto went to work trying to minimize the damage.

Meanwhile, Haruo, looking down at his hands, gritted his teeth, knowing that he'd have been completely helpless here if he didn't do something. They had mentioned that touching the ball would result in "something bad happening," but what that something was, Haruo was prepared to take the risk. After all, he may have been playing with fire here, but his power of negation was a wild card. Would it yield an orthodox result, or crumple against his own?

Only one way to find out.

With that, Haruo bolted off, running straight at the ball, eyes glowing red as he began to get close.

You had one Job
Delta team and the terminal staff were watching the scene unfold in the students body cams and wristbands, giving them a full view of the students actions. Watching Wen heroically begin saving others they nodded in approval and one of the staff wrote something down. Watching Naoto as they morphed into the speedster and moved other civilians out of the way the onlookers nodded again in approval.

“What’s that one doing?” One of the Delta team members asked as Haruo reached out to touch the bouncing ball.

“What is that moron doing? I warned him.” The voice said letting out a sigh.

“Aghhhh! Come on!!” The fierce redhead from earlier shouted.

All it took was Haruo’s fingertip to graze the ball for it to activate. The small kinetic energy from the touch amplified over and over until it crackled with newfound energy and speed. Rebounding off his hand it shot off like a rocket, knocking Haruo back. It barreled off, tearing a hole through lamps, trees and buildings. This ball wasn’t going to slow any time soon.

Th BallThis unknown metal object seems to be invulnerable and can absorb and amplify the kinetic energy produced off of those with super powers. Touching it will only increase its speed and power.
Ball is now able to shoot through items instead of bouncing off +2 hours.
Ball now moves 5 times faster +1 hour
Ball combat now adds 4

Claude had never been more panicked and embarrassed in his life. Not only did he get hit by the creature's poison, after hiding his identity by covering his face as they went to the medbay and subsequently Knight Enterprise, he screamed like a little girl when the boils started to form on the group. He wasn't able to handle it, he had screamed on and on about how his neck would have a horrible scar and that he'd rather have his whole head cut off than have such a blemish. Even when the wearines kicked in, he only sat there, staring at the floor as if to will away the boil. His prayers had been answered when Knight Enterprise rescued them from certain social death. With his flawless skin restored, he eventually calmed down and returned to his calm, proper appearance. As disgusting as this whole predicament was, he couldn’t help but sneak pictures of his friends, storing them in a folder he learned to develop as per his membership in the Journalism club, the blackmail folder. It never hurts to have info, even if he doubted he was ever going to use it.

When everyone was done and they were able to look at the alien-like leeches, he had to suppress his urge to not turn them all into swiss cheese with all his might. At least they were rid of them without consequence. At least he hoped they were. “I’m not fond of staying here any longer than necessary.” he admitted, his face the same but disgust plain in his eyes. Eventually they were ushered out and told to have a free day. One he greatly appreciated. He headed straight home and changed clothes, burning his old outfit. He never wanted to be reminded of this event again.

Cheerleading was going pretty well, they’d been split into pairs for training and he was lucky to have gotten a friend, that being Min. That was a lot of fun on it’s own. As for his other clubs, everything was going swimmingly. Being on the basketball team got him a lot of exercise on top of getting his name out there, and being a starter on the Varsity team, he never had a curfew as he could just go to the gym or court for as long as he wanted. Journalism was going well, especially since they had uncovered a pretty juicy secret regarding Gwyneth Blanche. Fashion was more of the same modeling work, but recently everyone, including himself, had taken up the jobs of designing super suits for the freshman in their upcoming first mission. He was thankful for the heads up that they’d have the mission since he had to help make them, and had used the time to ramp up his training and order an expensive formal suit. Nothing flashy, or superhero type, just formal wear.

Eventually, the day came where the school officially informed them of the mission, and as such cancelled gym. That was fine, he didn’t think anyone saw it as a challenge. At least not anyone he knew, anyway. He took the grace period they gave to change into his formal suit and made sure he looked especially good for the outing, meeting his allies at the teleporter. “If i’m honest, I'm looking forward to breaking away from our monotonous schedule, if only for a few hours at most. Everyone ready?” He asked, pulling his black gloves taut.

Claude was actually surprised people actually decided to wear hero suits, he himself saw it as kind of distasteful. I mean, they didn’t look bad, but he himself would rather wear an expensive suit and have it tailored for added protection. His powers didn’t need any special hardware, and a suit fit his gambler style anyway. He straightened his tie and watched as the supersuited Wen ran into the portal, followed by Haruo and Naoto. “Well, I guess we’ll pick this up afterwards. Some of us should focus on helping evacuate people while others chase down the ball. That way both problems are being maintained.” He explained as he stepped into the teleporter and proceeded to disappear in a bright light.

You know, for being Undecided, he wasn’t doing a bad job. Replacing someone who was nearly crushed by a falling wall, he was lucky enough that he stood where a window was and got through unscathed. As he stepped onto the fallen wall, he noticed a silvery ball bounce around the block. “I’m guessing that that’s the target. Hopefully I don't get poisoned by this one.” He mused, then rolled his dice, it dropping into the space where the window previously occupied. He ran after the ball, helping out evacuating citizens where they needed help and gave them directions towards safety, keeping their spirits up with kind words and a smile. It didn’t help that some empowered boys wanted to play hero despite being maybe middle schoolers at most. They wouldn’t listen no matter what he said, so he ended up having to tell their mothers and have them pull their kids off by ear.

As the group ran after the ball, claude calculated it’s path and paled at what he saw in its path. It was going to crash into a small house, as an elderly couple were baking a pie by their window.. Not only would the ball likely crash into the home and destroy everything, it was likely to decimate the pie that they placed on the window sill! Claude threw his dice out and dashed past it as it gave him a buff He didn't see what he rolled, but was high as he felt his power flare with a powerful buff. Claude dashed in front of the window sill and calmly spoke to the elderly couple as if there was no danger present. “Excuse me ma’am. Excuse me sir. Would you kindly take your pies and move them away from the window? The landscapers are mowing your lawn for free, but we don’t want to get grass on your pies, do we?” He lied, giving a false smile as they moved themselves and the pies, closing the window. Okay, how was he going to move the ball without touching it and making things worse? He eyed the ball zooming towards the house for a moment before getting an idea. His sword materialized in his hands sheathed, and he stabbed it into the sidewall lining the street, cracking the side. Using his sword as a lever, he lifted the slab of concrete just before the ball zeroed in.

A loud ‘CRASH!’ resounded as the upturned sidewalk met the ball with force, the ball spinning to try and get past it, but he the concrete was too thick. eyes setting into a glare, he watched as the ball spun off the sidewalk and bounce down another street into the path of Haruo. Rolling his left shoulder, he let out a small sigh. “That was annoying. I don’t know how Delta Team did this for so long.” He complained, letting the cracked sidewalk fall back into place before setting back off to follow the ball more annoyed than ever. He watched as Haruo ran up to it, eyes aglow with the indication of his power. He hadn’t even thought of it but his ability to nullify power might work on the ball if he could catch it. All he knew was that he could cancel people’s abilities, maybe this was some villian’s ability? If not, maybe some rampant technology? He could only wonder as he watched Haruo close in on the ball. He’d better get close enough to help out if this went bad. “I hope you know what you’re doing, Haruo!” he called out, sword in hand as he dashed after the two. He grimaced when he touched the ball and was powered up as his ally was knocked back, the ball speeding up and tearing through the environment. Dashing behind Haruo to make sure he didn’t fall down, he cleared his throat. “Well Haruo, wasn’t that something. I was hoping your nulifying ability would remove any abilities tied with it. But if I'm honest, appreciate you doing it. You’ve inadvertently revealed all the information we need to stop it.” He explained, his golden eyes quickly scanning Haruo for any signs of injury, than down the street where the ball was headed.

Ah. That didn't go well at all.

CRASH!

Before Haruo knew it, he found that the air had been knocked out of him as the mere touch of the ball knocked him back quite a ways -- or it would have if not for Claude's intervention, helping him keep on his feet. Still, he was sent into a dizzy spell for a good few moments as he struggled to recover. "... Oops," Haruo only uttered weakly, wincing visibly, as it seemed like his gambit didn't quite pay off. Quite the opposite in fact, as it seemed it only made the rogue ball even stronger.

"Yeah... I was hoping it'd be that easy too," Haruo grunted in response to Claude, taking a breath. When told that either way, his move had revealed more about it, he clicked his tongue. "Yep, that's me. All part of my plan," he said in an almost gruff, but not caustic, tone. He did appreciate the gesture from Claude either way; his self-esteem simply couldn't go on if it went the other way.

By the time the boy had mostly recovered, Naoto had finished pushing the civilians to safety as needed before appearing next to Haruo shortly afterward, with Naoto shifting back into their female form, looking toward their roommate with a furrowed brow.

"And that's why I don't gamble," Naoto remarked toward Haruo losing his own self-imposed wager, resting a hand on their hip. Still, they couldn't be too disgruntled at him... though they wondered if they might be the only one aside from Claude.

"But you think Haruo doing that was a good thing? Might you happen to have an idea in mind then, Claude?" Naoto asked, warily keeping their eye poised on the ball just in case they'd need to step in... for whatever they could do in this situation.

Izzy flinched as the object came at her, but was surprised when she didn’t feel an impact. Looking at Meg she was grateful. “Thanks for protecting us.” THe mission complete, she followed them through another portal and back to the school. Izzy watched as her classmates were engulfed in a bubble. She looked around nervously as Ms Lainhart began yelling at Meg. Inwardly she was confused at Min’s response. Sure Min had been the one to transport them but really Meg should have known better. This had been their first mission after all. She rolled the ball where she was told, though she couldn’t help but laugh to herself at the thought they were kind of like hamsters right now.

She looked around at the area wide eyed. There was some really advanced technology there. When she realized it was from Knight Tech she whistled softly. They were no joke. This was the company that had bought her dad’s blueprints ages ago. Despite the assurance that they didn’t have to stay, Izzy chose to anyways. These were her friends after all. Plus she wanted to get a better read of the tech here. As she watched Bran Knight himself walked in. She had never interacted with him directly, but she followed everything about Knight technology closely. She loved keeping up on the cutting edge of technology and you couldn't get sharper than a piece of Knight tech. As she watched the extraction she was fascinated. She understood how the machine worked, and she was awed at the preciseness and speed that it worked at.

As he walked out she followed.

Izzy hurried out of the room to catch up to Bran. “Umm. E-excuse me, Mr. Knight?” she stammered out. She was nervous, talking to the heir of a company she greatly admired and was responsible for her dad’s good fortune. “Do you have a moment?”

Bran stopped and looked over at the girl, she looked to be about his age. Pressing a few buttons on his device he waved to the man in the lab coat to continue on without him. Closing the control panel he walked over to Izzy. “I can spare a moment. Do you have a question for me miss…?” He asked inferring her to give him her name.

“Reed. Izzy Reed” she said, scrambling to pull out her notebook. “I was wondering if you could give me some advice on something I’ve been trying to build. I don’t know if you know anything about holographic technology, if not I apologize for making assumptions Mr Knight, but I’m having trouble with getting an image to stabilize.” Flipping open to a page she turned the notebook showing an illustrated mechanical arm covered in segmented panels, with a cross section showing a covering marked IR on one page and an equation on the other, many parts scratched out showing that they didn’t work.

Like many inventors today, at least according to her dad, Izzy drew up her blueprints in a personalized code and shorthand so that they couldn’t be replicated without the designers help. She may admire Knight Technology, but she wasn’t ready to give up her secrets for free. For all she knew, Bran could be recording a video of the whole conversation.

Bran raised a brow as she mentioned him not knowing anything about holographic technology. However, he brushed it aside and looked at her drawing. It was well done, albeit a bit elementary still he saw some talent. Noticing the work she put in and even the code he thought to himself, at least she has passion. Pointing to a portion of the system hardware he explained to her how reconfiguring this section and then adding a few software changes for real time shock calibration should fix her holographic display.

He paused and also mentioned a manufacturing technique for a cheap but strong material to help increase the strength of her mechanical arm, while decreasing the size and allow for more fluidity in the range of motion. He went on for almost a half hour talking about tips and solutions to her design. When he was done he looked over at her and tilted his head. “Ms. Reed was it? Might I ask you a question?”

Izzy absorbed Bran’s advice. As he explained it, she felt stupid for not seeing it before. Of course real time shock calibration would help, because it would help to keep the whole thing steady.. Great. Now I look like another dumb wannabe creator. I know it’s just my first prototype for a cooking robot but come on! Can’t something go my way? she thought, crestfallen.Looking up as he stopped she nodded slowly. “Yes Mr Knight?”

“What are you doing at Highland Academy?” He said with a stern but inquisitive look. As she was about to speak he continued, “because it seems you have talent to be a Seacoast Technical School student.” Seacoast technical school, a prestigious school only for gifted engineers and scientists. Students who attend are usually handpicked for major technology and medical companies. A school where anyone who knew Bran was currently attending. Crossing his arms he added, “your work is rough, but it is at least more inspired than what I've seen of the other fools at the school.”

“Umm...”Izzy’s answer was forestalled as Bran continued. Glancing around she tapped the side of her leg rapidly as she thought her answer. He thinks I could be at Seacoast?! But my work looks rough to him? I suppose that’s fair, I’m no artist and I don’t usually make blueprints… “To be honest sir...I never wanted to be at either school. I didn’t apply to either.” She took a breath. This was tough territory for her, she hadn’t spoken of this to any one of her friends here. “I would have been fine staying back home and working on cars with my dad. But HAPI reached out to me, and he convinced me to go. And now that I’m here...I can’t imagine wanting to go somewhere else!” She took a step back from him, bowing her head in gratitude. “Thank you though for the praise. It means a lot coming from you.”

Bran really didn’t see stating a fact as praise but he decided to let her believe it. His brother often told him that his cold nature was the reason why he didn’t handle more PR. “It’s not really praise more a statement of fact.” Watching her bow her head Bran was even more annoyed, but it came with the last name. “You’d still want to stay here even after knowing you could easily get into Seacoast?” He rubbed his him in thought, what is so interesting about this school? Looking over at the nervous girl he knew he had been taking too much of her time. Noticing a message in his iris device he also knew he had to go. Giving a soft chuckle he smiled and extended his hand. “Well I wish you good luck Ms. Reed. You’ve given me quite a lot to think about and I’ll make sure to keep you in mind.”

“Oh uhm...thank you” she said, confused. She shook his hand and watched as he walked off.

Timeskip:

Izzy minding her own business in the makeshift workspace she created after her roommate left heard a rhythmic knock on her door. A melodic voice nearly sang from the other side. “Izzy! Do you wanna build a snowman?” Min said playfully. Finally having free time, she'd gotten a chance to watch some of the old films of the once giant empire of Disney. Falling in love with Disney princesses she's been on a princess film kick.

Leaning against the door she mused, “it doesn't have to be a snowman!”

"Come on in. I'm working on Olaf right now actually!" She replied, continuing to solder the inner workings of a metallic humanoid head. Their cooking bot had, until today, not been activated due to a missing part. Now, one of the "eyes" wasn't working due to loose parts so she was fixing that before turning it on for the first time.

Hearing the door click closed she finished up. Holding the part up to her eye she inspected it carefully. "Perfect. Now he'll be able to see just fine" she said, satisfied. Turning around and lifting her goggles she smiled broadly. "The cooking robot, which I now name Olaf, is done. Now we can have fresh made meals whenever we want, as long as we have the ingredients. So what's up Min?"

Opening the door Min peeked in curious at the mechanical wonder that Izzy was working on. She loved seeing what new invention the girl had up her sleeve. Looking at the cooking bot Izzy had mentioned earlier Min was far more excited at something that could provide her as much food as she could possibly want. Stepping in Min closed the door behind herself and walked further in inspecting the robot. He looked absolutely perfect! Cupping her hands over her mouth in excitement she began to bounce up and down wanting nothing more than to blabber about how much she couldn't wait to see him in action. Excited as Izzy announced his completion she gave a squeal in excitement and leapt over to hug Izzy. “Hooray! I'll provide as many ingredients as it needs! I'm so excited! I can't wait to see your wonderful invention in action!”

Squeezing the girl happily Min was so excited she almost forgot why she came here. “Oh! Right!” Releasing Izzy from her hug Min sat in the girl's lap and looked over to her. “I wanted to invite you to Heartland Amusement park this weekend! You're my friend and I want to treat you to something fun! Will you come with me?”

Izzy flushed with the praise.. “Hopefully there aren’t too many issues. I’ve never tried something this complex.Should probably start with simple- Huh?” Izzy wobbled in her chair, nearly tipping in surprise as Min sat down in her lap. Izzy’s face went a deeper shade of red.. “H-Heartland?” The park for couples? Does she know that’s the parks reputation? Is she seeing if I’d be interested in her? I mean she is cute but...Izzy blinked as she got out of her own head. “U-um….s-sure? Y-yeah, I’ll go with you.”

As Izzy asked if it was Heartland, Min nodded. Watching the girls mind work from up close Min was worried she would say no. However when she agreed Min’s whole face lit up and she squeezed Izzy. “Really?! Yay! This is going to be great!” Kissing Izzy’s cheek she hopped off her lap. “You’re the best girlfriend ever! I’ll text you the details! Now let’s see what Olaf can do!” She said resting her hands on the machine’s chest. Food was the fastest way to this girls heart and Min wanted to eat.

Izzy’s hand went to her cheek as Min turned away. “Yeah sure.” Putting the newly fixed part into place she began the boot sequence. As she typed away she said to Min “We should probably start with something simple, just to make sure it works.” She looked over to her friend. “Any requests for our first meal? I’ll need to download the recipe.”

Watching Izzy work Min couldn't help but be excited. Not even contemplating a recipe she shouted out “pancakes!”

Izzy laughed. “Pancakes it is then!” Five minutes later, Olaf was good to go. “Olaf, on” she ordered. The lights came on behind the automaton’s eyes. A brief shimmer as the holographic image placed itself over the form. It turned its head towards Izzy and Min. “Good afternoon misses” came the soft spoken, tinny voice. “My name is Olaf. I have been constructed to be a personal chef for those that reside in this dorm. Currently I do not have access to the internet and only have pancake recipes stored in my memory banks. Will this be acceptable?”

Min was surprised that as Olaf activated how handsome he was. Min nodded. “Yes! Yes! As long as they're delicious, Olaf!” She exclaimed as she clapped her hands in excitement.

“I shall do my best” he replied with a bow. Making his way out to the kitchen, with Izzy in tow looking at readings on a tablet, he opened the cabinets and took stock of ingredients and available tools. Taking out the necessary ingredients for the chosen recipe he got to work.. In one bowl he mixed flour, sugar, cocoa, baking powder, and salt. In another he mixed melted butter, vanilla extract, milk, eggs, and a chopped baking chocolate bar. An hour later there were two plates with 5 pancakes each placed on the table with another 10 waiting.

Min watched the machine work with wonder and admiration. Watching Olaf as he placed the pancakes down in front of them, Min cut a fork full and tasted it, her whole face lit up with shining light. “Oh my God.” Min looked over at Olaf, “can I marry you?”

"I apologize miss. I do not understand. I have been constructed to be a personal chef for those that reside in this dorm" the robot replied.

"Uhm Min? I'm pretty sure people can't marry robots" Izzy said, laughing. "If it's any consolation though you can have him as your caterer for when ever you do." Izzy chewed for another moment, thinking about her creation. It really wasn't super expensive to make. Some slight adjustments need to be made regarding precision based on the mess, and perhaps install some cleaning programs. Privacy programs. Overall it's easily marketable and looks nice to boot. "If I ever sell the blueprints I'll make sure you get the newest models for being one of my first test subjects" she said, taking another bite.

“Really?!” Touched to her core Min couldn't help but feel warm inside and it wasn't just the delicious pancakes. Min looked over at Izzy, reached out and hugged her tightly smiling. “You're the best, Izzy! Can I marry you?” She said nuzzling against Izzy’s shoulder happily.

"What?!" Izzy coloured red once more and stiffened in surprise. "Marry me?! Shouldn't we at least date first? Wait. What am i saying? You wouldn't wanna date me or marry me. I'm nothing special, I'm not even the best choice in the dorm" she mumbled, tapping rapidly on her leg, her eyes looking around everywhere but at Min. Sure signs she was nervous and not entirely comfortable.

Min was surprised at how taken aback Izzy was at her proposal. Watching her look everywhere, but her face Min pouted. Reaching out she grabbed Izzy’s face in her hands and made the girl look into her pink eyes. “Izzy don’t you dare sell yourself so short. Especially after making something so astounding. You made Olaf, you make masterpieces that are totally going to change the world!” She said looking dead serious right at Izzy before her whole face softened and she smiled at her with love in her eyes. “You are literally the most amazing girl I’ve ever met. You're smart, kind, beautiful, so talented and my closest friend. I'd totally want to marry you! Anyone who would think of passing you by is a complete fool!” Letting go of Izzy’s face she gave a bashful laugh, scratching her cheek as she continued. “Honestly I don’t know if I’d measure up compared to you.” Shrugging she smiled brightly, “But that’s just how amazing you are!”

Izzy kept still as she listened to her friend. Min was the first person, besides her dad, to think her inventions were more than “just good”. Her eyes teared up with emotion. Opening her mouth, the words tumbled out before she could think about them. “Let’s make this weekend an actual date then so we can find out if you’re right.” Squeaking, she buried her face in her hands. “Wait no. I didn’t mean- I mean not that I wouldn’t want- I mean...Agh.” Izzy lowered her head, her elbows on her knees and her face still buried. God I’m stupid. You might have just crossed a line and ruined a good friendship. What was I thinking? You’ve never even thought of her like that before, so why now?

Min was a bit surprised as Izzy asked her out but smiled as the girl hid under her face. She really is too cute to pass up! Min thought to herself. Reaching out for the girls covered hand she rubbed them gently with her thumb. “Izzy~❤ Look at me ~❤” As Izzy let her strength leave her hands Min took both of them and pulled them from her face. Squeezing them tightly she smiled. “Let's do it!” She said beaming over at her. “ I don't know how Heartland will go but if you want the day after I'll take you on an all day date!” Genuinely excited to plan a date she began to think of all the cool things the city scene club had to make this date a great one. Taking her own experience with Alaric she was going to do everything she can to make this date then.

The rest of the week Izzy threw herself into her work. Min might have said yes, but Izzy still wasn’t sure about the date. She wasn’t even sure of what she liked. But she was determined not to back out of it.

Izzy groaned at the news they were going on another mission. She wasn’t meant to be in the field, she knew that already. At the very least not with a mission like this. She was able to coordinate with the other heroes just fine from here. Man. Group projects suck even at a school for superheroes she thought with a wry chuckle. She made her way to the attire department and looked around. Finding a pattern she liked she changed into it and made a few modifications.

She had just finished her own tune ups when Wen had approached. Looking at the clock she thought for a moment. “I can, but it’ll be shoddy work. You might only get four or five jumps out of it.” When Wen told her that was fine, she got to work quickly.

When Izzy walked through, she wound up in the middle of the courtyard of a cafe. Hearing a crunch she looked up as the orb came through a window, shattering it. Pulling out her orbs, she turned the bottom of them and pointed them upwards. After their last mission she reconfigured some of her message orbs to be able to provide different kinds of hardlight barriers. This setting produced a wall. The two barriers covered the entirety of the street level and prevented the falling glass from impaling any of the civilians. “Get inside” she yelled to the crowds. Once they did, she looked at the orb as it bounced off again. She could tell that it was(n’t) mechanical in nature. She also saw that touching it somehow absorbed kinetic energy which charged it further. “Guys remember. We shouldn’t touch this thing” she said over her communicator. “This thing eats kinetic energy and charges it up. Our best plan right now is just to follow it until it runs out of juice”

Min followed Mrs. Lainheart down the vast halls of Terminal 9, there was quite a lot to take in. Min looked around at everything, she wondered if she could recall it all. Focusing on the main areas she imagined arriving there through a portal and committed it to memory. Rolling her classmates down the halls Min was slowly regaining her strength she tried her best to hide her weariness.

As they arrived at the medical ward of Terminal 9 it was truly high tech. Min watched as the other students were placed in to the medical cots. When the healthy ones were offered the opportunity to leave Min decided to stay. These people were her friends and she didn't have much else to do. Taking care of the others she provided them with water and comfort. Most of the students were calm with the exception of Claude who was freaking out about his appearance. It was funny to see him lose his cool although she understood why he was worried. Peopled based a lot off of physical appearance, especially in high society.

When Bran came into the room with a large device Min stood aside not really able to do much. She didn't know who Bran was, but she noticed he gave her a strange look before continuing back with his work.

Watching the others steadily be healed Min comforted them and complimented their health. From the corner of her eye she noticed Izzy wander off after Bran, only for a few minutes later to come back happy although a bit confused. Smiling softly Min was glad for her to have a good time. She wondered what had happed out there with Bran, giggling softly she had her own thoughts.

With everyone cured, Min decided to have fun for the rest of the week. I wonder what the Pharming party will be like, Min thought to herself. I guess I'll find out. Big brother always said to go to any party you can.

The morning sun slowly crept above the treeline on the surprisingly warm autumn day. The academy campus was full of long winding paths perfect for jogging. Many students have made it part of their morning routine to get some exercise before the day began, three of those were Alaric, Josh and Min. The trio made an unlikely bond when they all met together on the jogging trail one morning. Min having noticed both boys working out and asked each if they could join her in exercising. “Something like a gym buddy!” She said with a smile on her face. After a few more conversations somehow that silver tongued girl had the three of them working out together.

Josh
Josh had been exercising for a while now, and making steady progress from when he had started. All that alone time really seem to be effective. However, lately he noticed two others familiar faces around during his routine. Soon enough, Min would have sweet talked her way into convincing Josh to join her plan for gym buddies. He hadn’t interacted with Alaric before, only seen him around mainly and only knew of him... perhaps this was a good opportunity to get to know him as well.

For his exercise appeal, Josh only wore a black tee and a pair of dri-fit tights underneath shorts in running shoes. Honestly, he had slim down quite a bit over the past few weeks , gaining some muscles.

As the trio jogged, he started off in the back, even behind Min. He started to eye her from behind, naturally has a young growing man, but he needed to focus. He gradually began to pick up speed and passed her, slightly teasing her, saying “On your left!” However, most likely staying in second due to Alaric seeming to be the moth athletic out of the three of ‘em. After finishing, just stood up with his arms over his head, breathing through his nose to allow air to flow better.

Alaric trotted along with his new friends, not breaking a sweat as he idly chatted/flirted with Min. And Josh was there too. But he was cool enough, so Al didn't mind the third wheel.

A cool breeze blew across the campus, lightly tickling his bare torso and feet, and rustling his cutoff sweatpants.

Eventually he got bored, and sped up to full capacity, blasting his way around their usual route and nearly lapping them twice.

Taking deep breaths making sure to inhale through the nose and out the mouth Min was the last to finish their morning jog. She wasn't the fastest of the group by far but she appreciated that they waited for her. Keeping up her pace she made her way to them and stopped. Breathing heavily, she leaned over and rested her hands on her knees. Taking a moment she looked up at them, cheeks flushed arms squeezing her breasts together in her sports bra she gave a soft smile. “So weights, next?”

Alaric rolled his meaty shoulders as he slowed down and stopped next to Mine and Josh. Pulling a rag out of his rear pocket, he dabbed the light sheen of sweat he worked up of his face and torso.

He eyed her as she squeezed her breasts together, raising an eyebrow at her as they made eye contact.

Smiling at Al as their eyes met, there was a devilish flash in her eyes as she straightened up. “Let’s get to it then?” Tossing her hair she lead the way down to the gym, hips swaying behind her.

Dorm room GymInside the gym, there were a few freshmen working out but for the vast area it still seems empty. From up above them the freshmen could hear the upperclassmen lifting weights and cheering each other on. Min walked in and over to the lighter weights while the boys came in. Picking up her gym bag that she left beside the weights she pulled out her water and a towel to wipe off with. Dabbing the sweat off her body she took a swig of the cool water and let out a soft sigh in relief. She truly wasn't anywhere near peak physical performance.

Josh would enter the gym, hearing the cheering of pure young masculinity throughout the building. Although, it didn’t grab his attention that much as he walked towards the weights. He wasn’t an extremist with this stuff or anything, so he’d only do the more “moderate” as of now, stretching afterwards.

Alaric racked a ton of weights on the squat bar and began his daily leg routine. No matter what else he worked on during a particular workout, everyday was leg day. He kept an eye on Josh and Min, occasionally going over to spot or offer advice.

Eventually he switched to core workouts, starting with inverted crunches.

After getting her breath and rehydrated, she started on squats for a while before moving to weights. Nowhere near what others could lift she stayed on the lighter side for now.

After the GymAs the three began to finish, Min’s eyes widened as she realized something. “Oh right!” She said aloud as she looked over to the boys. Pulling out the tickets from her bag she smiled excited to invite them. Moving towards them she spoke up, “guys! I have free tickets to Heartland Amusement park next weekend and I want to invite you two to come! I want to thank you two for being my gym buddies these past few weeks! And I think hanging out at an amusement park would be lots of fun!” Extending the tickets out to them beaming with gratitude.

As he began to wipe his face from sweat with his shirt, he walked over to Min after she exclaimed after remembering something. He gave a wholesome smile when she gave tickets and seemed really appreciative. “Um, thanks! I’m pretty sure I’ll be able to make it, I don’t have anything planned over the weekend.”

Alaric had finished before them, and had just stepped back in from his locker room shower when Min started talking about an amusement park.

"Thanks Min. I'll make it up to you."

“Great!” She said as she clapped her hands together in exclamation. “I cant wait to see you guys there!” Looking over to Al she gave him a softer smile. “No need to."

Al smirked, "Yeah, but I'll take you to a movie anyway."

Min didn't hesitate. “Alright!” Her smile grew coy as she continued. “It's a date then.”
After the Pharming Party
The First Second(?) Date1572230073478.pngAlaric and Min ended up having that conversation all day the next day, and settled on a date that Sunday night, since school started back up in earnest on Monday. And now was the appointed time.

Alaric sent her a text saying he was at the Dorm common area, waiting on her. While he waited, he checked his clothing and hair again, making sure his button down and trousers were free of lint and dust.

Normally, he didn't get the prissy with dates. But he actually liked Min, so he attempted to make an effort.

Min opened a portal behind Alaric as he waited for her, reaching out she poked his back and smiled. “Hi.” Min said with a chuckle before stepping back and looking at him up and down. “You clean up well. Should I have changed?” Looking down at her purple shirt with carmine buttons and long sleeves, a short shawl of a darker tone and a long carmine skirt. “I researched movie attire and it said on the internet, that it was causal.” Glancing back up at him for confirmation.

Alaric jumped slightly as Min poked his back, as focused as he was on his braid.

"Oh. Hey." He locked eyes with her as she complimented him. It took him a moment to respond, since his jaw was currently in his lap.

He shook his head. "You don't need to change. You're gorgeous, as usual."

Alaric stood up and gave her a smile. "You ready to go? We can go eat first or go to the movie. You got a preference?"

Blushing as he called her gorgeous she glanced away and pulled a wayward strand of hair behind her ear. Min took a step towards him and shrugged, “Not really. I don’t know much about dating, even less about movies. It's my first time with both here.” Meeting his eyes she gave an innocent smile, “I’m in your hands tonight.” Extending her hand out for him to take she added with a sultry tone. “Be gentle with me.”

Al took her hand, wrapping his fingers around hers. "Well, dating isn't hard. Just find someone you like and go do stuff with them."

He stood up, "movies, well, the theatre shows a bunch at different times. I looked some up, but I don't know what you like. So let's just go eat and figure it out."

He gave her a sly smile and a wink, "first time? Be gentle? I guess I'll leave the handcuffs and whip in my room. Let's go."

Taking his advice about daring to heart Min nodded. Her cheeks flushing a bit deeper as he wrapped his fingers around her own small hand. She walked closer to him and listened intently to him, trusting him completely. “Sure! I could eat. Besides I have loads of questions!” Min said excited, this was such a fresh experience that she was ready to sink her teeth into.

As he playfully mentioned handcuffs and whips in his room Min poked his side with her free hand and smiled up at him. “Kinky.” Looking around as they left campus she didn’t see any kind of transportation. “Did you want me to make a portal or..?” She asked a bit confused.

Alaric grinned even more and bumped his hip against hers. Or, more accurately, his hip to her lower ribs.

"Food it is then. And ask away. We have all night. Unless we sleep eventually."

He snorted at her when she mentioned kinky. "You really don't remember last night huh. Alright then." He sighed after saying that. Was kind of a bummer that only he remembered.

He shook his head to clear his mind of those thoughts, before he thought of some of the more… intense… moments.

"Nah. No portal. This is the perfect time to ask those questions. Let's trade stories."

Min looked a bit confused as he murmured something about last night but shrugged it off. It was a strange sensation but the more she dwelled on it the less she remembered of last night, she'd rather keep her memories of fun than remember everything. She had fun and as long as the fun is there that's all that matters.

As he mentioned they were walking Min raised a brow but shrugged. “Alright but you know I'm still out of shape, if I get tired you're carrying me.” She said playfully as they began to walk. “So Alaric, tell me did you always have your powers? Or did they manifest at some point? I've always been born with the ability to use mine but I've heard stories that others here had theirs manifest as preteens.”

Alaric smirked when she mentioned carrying her. "Sure. Carried you last night. You weigh next to nothing."

Min asked him about his powers, and Al took a moment to figure out to how word it.

"My twin and I were born with it. Caused hell for my powerless parents. Imagine toddlers with super speed. And my turn. Where are you from?"

Blushing a bit as he mentioned carrying her last night she honestly didn’t remember much, not even that. Listening to him talk her grip on his hand tightened as he mentioned being a twin. Her eyes shone with excitement as she almost bounced a bit. “You’re a twin too?! How exciting! I didn’t know if twins were a commonality here!” Thinking about two similar baby boys running at super speeds made her laugh. Although it was so weird to hear that he was from unempowered parents.

Her laugh faded as he asked her where she was from. “Oh I live in an old castle out in the Russian forests. Nothing exciting to do there. It’s cold and boring, I wasn’t allowed to leave the main building so I don’t know more about the county other than what I read about in out of date books.” Min said pouting a bit at how dull her home life was. Looking back at him she smiled, “so where is your brother? Can I meet him?”

Alaric laughed with her. It was funny mental image. "Yeah, I'm a twin. We don't really look alike though. He was sickly as a child. He's super thin, and kept his hair clean cut."

He thought about her next question for a moment, the way she worded it being a but weird, "What do you mean by being more common here?"

Min was already answering his question, so he just put that on the back burner.

His face darkened when she asked where his brother was. "We don't know. He left home a while ago. There's a rumor of a red headed speedster villain going around. Reason I came to HAPI."

He went silent for a few moments, a bit lost in thought.

Min heard his question, but easily maneuvered to another topic but it was one she wished she hadn't. It was a question that hit Alaric hard and an answer that hit Min. Taking her free hand she squeezed onto Alaric's arm and held onto him tightly. Looking up at him she spoke honestly, “I understand what you're feeling Alaric. I too was separated from my brother and am looking for him. It's hard when they're away, without you. Lonely doesn't even begin to describe it.” She said squeezing his hand trying to confront him, “I admire your devotion, for the longest time I thought my brother was dead. I didn't even consider looking for him until recently, and now...”

She shook her head and looked over at him with a stern and determined look in her eyes. “Let’s make a pact! We'll help each other find our respective twin! And when we do, we can introduce the other to them!” Letting his arm go she clenched her fist. “No twin left behind!”

Alaric's face brightened and he gave another smile when she spoke, holding him close. He reached up and hopped her on the nose with his free hand.

"Sounds good sweetheart." He didn't mention that he had technically found his brother, or verified his continued existence.

"I'll introduce you to Ahren after I beat his ass. And of course I'll help you find yours. I may be the only one here who can understand. My whole family has been destroyed about the whole thing. Mom still isn't over it"

He held the door open when they got to a nearby restaurant that was about halfway to the theater.

Min blushed as he booped her nose and looked up at him to see such a sweet smile. Letting a soft giggle as he mentioned beating his brother's ass when he found him. They must be good siblings. It was refreshing to think about and lifted her heavy heart ever so slightly. Stepping into the restaurant she still held onto his hand and lead him into the building as she spoke. “I completely understand, no one in my family has been better after being separated. Families should stay…” She thought about it but couldn't really finish the sentence.

Instead Min looked around at the restaurant, “oh? Where are we?”

Alaric quietly listened to her talk more about her family and then derail to a different topic. He didn't blame her. Al didnt want to talk about it, but he wanted to be open with Min.

"I found this place while I was wandering around town, looking for trouble." He gave her a wink and continued, "It's not a five star, but the food is good. They serve American style meals here."

Letting his hand go she clapped her hands together and smiled, “I've never had American food before! This is so exciting! Although…” She blushed and placed her hands in front of her, unintentionally squeezing her breasts together. “you may have to order for me. I tend to get overzealous in my expenses, especially when it comes to meals.”

Alaric smiled at her excitement over a menu consisting of burgers, pizza and wings. It was high quality, but Al couldn't relate. He grew up on this stuff.

He checked her out when Min pressed her breasts together. He couldn't help it. Or maybe he could, and did not want to.

"Nah, go ahead and get whatever you want. I really don't mind."

Min looked up at him a bit surprised as he said it was alright to order anything. “Wait really?!” She said rushing over to him, she rested her hands on his chest and looked up into his face to make sure he way telling the truth. “Are you sure I can order anything? I eat a lot you know.” Her pink eyes shined against her rose blushed cheeks as soft wrinkles perched on her nose as she tried to look serious though all the excitement.

This was a bit of a surprising reaction. Al started down at her as he shrugged and nodded. "Yeah, sure. I'm not hurting for money. Eat till you're done."

He couldn't help but snort at her serious face. What a weird girl. Still, he was enjoying her company. He wrapped an arm around her waist and led her to their table, following the hostess to their seats.

Min smiled brightly as he added and bounded excitedly, “really? Thank you!” Letting him lead her to their table she sat across from him and smiled happily as she took a look at the menu. Reading everything off she had no idea what all these strange foods were. “What is pizza? Hmm it looks like it has tomato paste and…” She said mumbling to herself as she didn't even know where to start.

As the waiter came by and asked for their orders Min looked up and placed her finger to her cheek. “Ummm, can I...have six of everything?”

“Everything on the menu?” The waiter asked a bit confused.

Min nodded, “yes. Six of everything. To start.” She said raising her hands to show six.

Alaric paid more attention to Min than the menu. "You're adorable."

Then she ordered the kitchen. Alaric raised an eyebrow at her, but didn't say anything and just nodded at the server and placed his order.

The server wandered off with a concerned look on his face. Alaric didn't blame him. That poor college boy.

Hearing his comment she blushed an even deeper rose. She looked over at Alaric as she finished and noticed him wander off. Looking a bit confused, Min looked back at Alaric. “Didn't you want to order something?” She asked confused.

It was kind of fun, seeing Min blush like that. Alaric was a bit curious as to just how far her innocence went, considering she didn't remember the club.

"I did order. You were too busy drooling over the menu to notice." He said as he stuck his tongue out at her.

“What really?” Min said her blush blooming across her face before she quickly hid her face behind the menu. “I'm sorry… Everything looks so good. I was entranced.” She said tilting her head and peaking over the menu towards Alaric. “I can’t wait to try it all. I hardly eat at school because of my large appetite. So I usually get home extremely hungry. Especially after Cheerleading.”

Alaric reached over and pulled the menu down, looking into her lovely pink eyes and smiling.

"I get it. My ability makes my metabolism faster too. I eat through just about every class. Plus it provides the amount of calories and carbs I need to get jacked."

He jokingly flexed his left arm, then took a sip of his freshly delivered drink. The server gave Min a look before wandering off to wait his other tables.

Min looked over at him as he pulled the menu down to see her flushed face clearly. Listening to him she smiled and giggled as he flexed. Noticing the look the waiter gave Min felt self conscious again.

Looking down at her drinks she too the first one and quickly finished it, not even breaking for air before moving to the next. She wasn't sloppy or rushed, in fact it was surprisingly graceful she was just consistent. Like a machine perfectly stacking items every time. As she finished her sixth drink she looked up at Alaric. “It's nice to not feel so alone in this. I always get such strange looks... It's just one meal here doesn't equate to the food at home.” Min said wondering if what she ate as a child would even be considered food here.

“But enough about me.” She said with a smile, “ tell me more about yourself! How are you liking HAPI? I know you came to find your brother, but I hope you're enjoying school too.”

Alaric watched her put her drinks aways, honestly a bit stunned. He didn't eat nearly that much. What sort of food was she eating, if a large burger platter didn't equal a meal. In what universe was that a thing? He blew it off, however, to avoid making things awkward.

"Ah, don't say that. I haven't had enough of you yet." He gave her a sly wink, then answered her question.

"It depends. I like the combat at hero training, but I'm struggling with homework and tests. I don't know if I'm the hero type, to be honest."

Min gave a bashful smile as he gave her a sly wink and listened to him as he explained how he felt about school. Looking a bit saddened she reached out and rested her hand on his arm. “Well I don’t know much about being a hero myself, or much about school either but I think you have the potential to be a hero. That is if you want it. I think from talking with the upperclassmen it isn’t about being a pinnacle of morality, or being a perfect leader, being a hero is about choosing to protect others.” Min’s gaze grew distant as she thought about the past and continued, “if you protect even just one person, you can be a hero. Even if it’s just in their eyes.” Min said warmly, “you’re a hero.”

Alaric listened to her talk, but really didn't say anything. He didn't really know what to say, other than, "whiskey" when the water came back to ask about drink refills.

"To be honest, I just haven't really given it any thought. No idea what I'm going to do if I find Ahren, or what comes after. Anyway…"

Their food had arrived, and there was a small battalion of servers bringing Min's order.

Al pounded his whiskey while he waited for the waiters to go away, and ordered another before starting on his food.

Min pulled her hand away as the food arrived and looked at it all with wonder. “Oh wow! It smells so good! What should I even start with?!” Picking up her utensils she began to cut into a hamburger and eat it.

Alaric chuckled as she pick up utensils for a burger. He picked his up with his hands and tipped it at her in toast before taking a bite.

"A lot of American style food is finger food. Pizza, burgers, certain kinds of chicken and seafood. America's a bit more casual than a lonely Russian castle."

Min blushed as he told her about how she was eating it oddly. “Ah, really? I mean I suppose…” reaching out with her hand she poked the bun before recoiling back. Pouting a bit she pinched the side of the burger and shook her head. “I don’t get it…” Min said as she went back to the utensils. Cutting into the hamburger she bit into it and her whole face lit up. “It’s so good!”

Happily eating everything on the table with grace and speed she was done in an hour and a half. Finishing the last pie she smiled, “that was so good! Though… I think my favorite thing was the cherry pie and sundaes! I do love sweets!” She said as she thought about the food she’d eaten. “Smoothies were good too!” She looked over at Alaric, “thank you for introducing me into such wonderful foods.”

Alaric took a while to eat, unable to stop from watching Min put away that mountain of food. It was quite an amazing and slightly nauseating site.

It took him several minutes to register that she was done eating, as fascinated as he was by her eating.

"Yeah, no problem. I'm really curious what sort of food you normally eat, if you're capable of emptying a restaurant kitchen like that."

Min blushed, “do you think they don't have anything else?” Noticing the worried looks of the staff Min let out a slight sigh but smiled through it. There was still more to do today. “Well in Russia I usually have more or less the same though out cook only makes traditional Russian meals.” She said thinking to her daily feasts, she wondered what her mother was eating while she was off on her trip. If everyone was shocked by how much she ate they'd be petrified at how much her mother did.

Changing the subject she asked, “so what movie are we watching?”

Alaric listened to her, but she really didn't answer the question. What sort of food does she normally eat? How was it the equivalent of an entire kitchen? There was still something Min was keeping secret.

He shrugged and put that thought away. It's not like he had told Min everything.

"I didn't decide yet. Didn't know what you liked. I figure we can head to the theater and then decide."

He fished through his wallet and pulled out his card, ordering one last whiskey when he saw the bill.

He pounded the shot, drank the last little bit of his soda, and asked, "you ready?"

Min nodded happily, “yes!” Taking his hand as she slid out of the booth she was still a bit hungry but she heard that movies sold snacks so she wasn't too worried. Resting against him she smiled, “this is so much fun! I didn't know that there were types of movies? Do they vary in interactivity or quality?” Min asked.

Alaric led her towards the theater, answering her questions on the way. But Min had thrown him for a complete loop. Innocent to doing drugs at the club back to innocence.

"Well, yeah, like books, movies have genres. You've got action movies, romance, comedy, drama all sorts. There's even blends, like romantic comedies, or horror mystery. Some are good, some are bad. Don't really know till you watch."

“Oh so it's like varying genres! How exciting! I loved reading although most of the books at home were very old or supposedly cursed.” Min said with a smile, “I like most genres so whatever you want to watch works for me.”

Alaric nodded and looked at the board, seeing if there was something he felt like seeing, then bought two tickets to a mystery movie.

With that, all that was left was the snack counter. Alaric kept a straight face, but couldn't help but wonder what sort of chaos was about to happen next.

Min was surprised at the movie choice she wondered what kind of mystery it will be. Smiling excitedly she wrapped both her arms around Alaric’s arm pressing him to her chest as she leaned in closer. “This is going to be so much fun!” She said as she looked out at the wide theater. Taking in such a new sight she left her mouth agape in wonder at it all. The theatre was a large three story building each floor holding over ten theatres. “How cool!” Min said looking around, that is before the snack counter took her attention.

The sparkling candies and neon holograms showing the newest meals they provide. Min could feel her hunger take over but looked over at Alaric. Feeling a bit guilty for having him pay for everything she decided to hold back a little. “What do you want to eat Alaric? I'll pay for this.” Min said with a gentle smile.

Alaric blushed a bit when Min pressed his arm into her extraordinary (in his opinion) chest, and had some trouble making eye contact. It was crazy how something as simple as a change of scenery could make things more or less embarrassing.

She asked him what he wanted to eat. He smiled, "You don't have to to do that, beautiful, but thank you. I don't eat sweets or snacks like chips. But I would like… hm…" he looked at the menu. "I'll do the chicken wings combo."

Min blushed a bit as he thanked her, “it’s the least I can do for eating so much.” Min walked with Alaric to the snack counter and smiled at the cashier as she spoke. “Three orders of the chicken wing combo.” As the price was rung up Min undid the top few buttons of her shirt until her breasts were very visible. Reaching between the large mounds Min went to grab her card. “it's here somewhere Min said as she bounced a bit trying to dislodge the cars from it plush warm cushions. Finally reaching it Min smiled and pulled out a black card with the colors of the galaxy on it. The card seemed otherworldly and if you stared into it you could see the galaxy begin to swirl and reality begin to warp.

The cashier looked at the scene with awe his nose beginning to bleed as he did. Min noticed and looked a bit worried, “umm… Your nose is bleeding.” She said. Quickly the cashier pinched his nose and grew flustered. A flushed faced female cashier came in and pushed the other cashier out of the way. “W-will that be debit or credit?”

“Oh! Credit! I think? I've never used it…” Min said placing a finger to her lips in thought. “Honestly whenever anyone touches the car they seem distracted and say…”

“It's fine your meal is free, please enjoy.” The female cashier said in a monotone voice as she handed the card to Min.

Min took it “oh really?! How lucky!” Min said with a smile. “Thank you!” The cashier nodded and began to prepare the combos as Min placed the card back into place. Letting Alaric’s arm go she buttoned back her shirt and the food was ready. “Ready?” Min asked picking up one of the combos.

Alaric's eyes bugged out of his head, and he quickly turned to face anywhere else. However, his manly instincts caused him to peek out of the corner of his eye. 'Lucky to be on a date with the hottest girl in class' he thought as he shrugged at the new cashier.

Food in hand, he led her to the restrooms, mentioning that it's usually a good idea to try to empty out those systems before drinking a massive soda and sitting for a few hours, lest you miss part of the movie.

Business done, he gave their tickets to the guy and led her by the hand to the theater.

"It's usually best to get a seat in the back or middle rows. That way you can see the whole screen. Some theaters, like this one, have assigned seats. Others are a free-for-all for the best seats.

He led them to their seats in the back row, dead center. As they sat, Al put his arm around Min's shoulders.

Min smiled as she follows Alaric’s lead and listened intently as he spoke nodding as he explained the ins and outs of going to the theatre. Making their way to the back she smiled as he wrapped his arm around her. Leaning in close she rested against his chest with a smile. “I’m so excited for the movie!”

Alaric smiled down at her as she rested against his chest. "Yeah, I heard good things. Supposed to be based on a famous detective book series."

As he spoke, he noticed another couple come in and sit a few rows ahead of them, adding to the otherwise mostly empty theater. They immediately began to put their hands all over each other.

"Oh yeah, most theater movies will have kids making out in the dark. Part of the reason I prefer to watch movies at home."

He chuckled a bit and began to snack on his wings, slightly self conscious.

Min blushed as she noticed the couple, looking up at Alaric she wondered what was going through his head. Placing a hand on his upper thigh she spoke innocently. “You know we could have just watched a movie in your room.”

Alaric's whole body stiffened when her hand grabbed his thigh. It took him a moment to respond.

"I won these tickets, so it'd be no big loss to portal back to the dorms. I know Claude is out late tonight." He replied, equally innocently, as he ran his hand slowly down her back.

Blinking up at him innocently she shuddered a bit as his hand ran down her back. She rested against him and looked up at him this time her face brushed against his cheek. “You sure? I mean I want you to be comfortable.” She said tilting her head to him. “We can go if you want

Alaric shrugged and stared into her eyes. "I am comfortable." His hand came up to push some of her hair out of her face, his thumb lightly brushing her cheek and ear.

"What do you want to do? I'm sure we'll end up having fun either way." He said with a wink and a light lick of his lips.

Min blushed as he licked his lips and looked away only to turn and see the screen bloom to life. Captivated by the screen her eyes shined with the light of wonder as she watched the actors on the screen. Completely engulfed by the film she leaned in invested in the story, shocked by the scares and a moved by the performances. She took everything she saw in and wanted to be that.

As the film ended Min stared at the screen until the lights rose. Quiet for a few moments Min looked out still lost in the wonder. “Do you think I could be there?” Min vaguely asked meaning being actress on the screen.

Alaric didn't push it, instead just holding her close and eating his food as the movie went on. It wasn't a bad movie, but Al doubted he'd remember anything about it after a few days.

Min seemed to enjoy the movie, and that's what really mattered to him. She asked something vague, and Alaric told her, "Of course, would just take some work." It was a vague answer, since he didn't really know what she was talking about.

“When my brother and I were separated we agreed to try to become famous, or at least well known around the world. So that we could find each other. I haven't gotten the opportunity to do so, but now I can. This may be my only chance. I have to try.” Min said softly. Looking over to Alaric she gave him a bashful smile, “look at me being sentimental. What did you think of the movie?”

Alaric let her talk, and shrugged. "The movie was okay. Didn't quite live up to the hype."

He smiled at her, "I think you'd make a great actress. You're fun to be around. And super attractive."

Min's blush bloomed across her cheeks, “ I wouldn't go that far. I'm just unimpressive me. You should see my family...I hardly stand out. But thank you.” She said looking at him with a smile, “so what's next?”

"You stand out to me." Alaric blurted, before found silent and grabbing her hand to lead her out of the theater.

He took them through one of the side exits, leading into a quiet alleyway that lead to a nearby park, which was also quiet and empty.

"I figured we'd just hang out somewhere quiet. I'm enjoying just being around you." He said sheepishly, shrugging and taking a seat at an open bench.

"Unless there's something you want to do?"

Her blush deepened as he spoke up and before she could react he was already leading her out the theatre. A bit surprised Min had to pick up the pace a bit as she followed him but smiled as she looked out at the calm park. Taking a deep breath she smiled enjoying the outdoors. Sitting beside him she shook her head, “no this is nice.”

Looking out at the park she noticed it slowly becoming darker outside. The sun was setting. Resting her head against his shoulder she let out a quiet sigh of happiness. “I like this.”

Alaric closed his eyes and relaxed as Min rested against him and sighed. He wrapped his arm around her and pulled her close, laying his head against hers. "Yeah, i like this too. This park is usually quiet, but once the sun sets, it becomes completely empty. It's perfect for being alone."

Feeling warmer with him closer the chill of winter was here. “What are we going to do after it gets dark?” Min asked innocently.

"Hm" Alaric said, nuzzling his face into her hair. "Honestly haven't thought that far ahead. Part of me wants to be a bad boy." He continued as he once again ran his fingers down her spine.

Shivers ran down her spine as he touched her and she leaned in to look into his eyes. Face flushed she honestly looked a bit nervous. “I know you’re a gentleman at heart.” Min said before resting her head back on Alaric’s shoulder. “When I was researching dates most said the date ended after dark.”

Alaric's hand stopped moving, and he replied, "Yeah. Too much of a gentleman for my own good."

He sighed, "You want the date to be over? We can go home, I suppose."

Min giggled at his reply and noticed he seemed a bit saddened as he asked if she wanted the date to be over. “Well I’m having a lot of fun still. I’ve never seen the city at night before. Will you be my guide?” Min asked with a smile.

"You are? Oh good." Alaric said, feeling relieved. Al worried she mentioned the date ending after dark as sort of a 'down boy'. Maybe he was pushing it. Min wasn't clocked out on drugs and alcohol this time. It was obviously going to be very different.

"I'd love to be your guide. Anything in particular you want to see?"

Min tilted her head, “Well I’ve never been near the ocean at least physically. Though maybe I should start small?” Min asked herself more than Alaric. “I heard there’s a river in this area that’s really beautiful at night. They say you can see the piers Ferris wheel from the bridge. I’d love to see that! Do you think we could find it?”

Alaric pulled up a map of the area on his device and took a moment to figure out the best route.

"Yeah, I can get us there. It's a bit of a hike though. We can walk or I can carry you and run. It's up to you."

Min looked at the route and then to her heels. She was used to wearing them, but a hike like that would kill her. Looking up at Alaric she batted her eyelashes at him. “Will you carry me?”

Alaric nodded, then stood up. Once Min followed suit, Al place and arm on her shoulder, and swept her knees from under her with his other arm, lifting her into a princess carry, same as last night.

Their faces were inches away from each other. It took some serious willpower to not plant a kiss on her. It was hard for the speedy Alaric to take things slow.

After a few deep breaths, he asked her, "ready?" Before he began to move. It started as a slow trot, but quickly built up speed until Al was nearly at full speed.

After a few minutes, they were at a quiet part of the bank. Other people could be seen on the other side of the river, but this spot was private and quiet, and had a full view of the river, the ferris wheel, and a chunk of the massive city's skyline.

"If you want to go on the ferris wheel, I can jump us across. I heard it's free for couples." He said as he gently set Min back on her feet.

As he said that, he sat down on the grass, happy to just enjoy the view and Min's company for the time being.

Letting Alaric literally sweep her off her feet she blushed as he held her so close. Looking up at his face she realized how handsome he was as they began to move. Holding tightly to Alaric as he ran so fast Min watched the world pass by in a blur of brilliant streaks. It looks like stars, she thought to herself.

Listening to his proposal she smiled as he let her down. Staying close beside him for a moment she looked out at the scenery taking in the cool air she smiled feeling at peace. She liked large quiet places, libraries, empty parks, large dark rooms. It’s what she remembered most in her life. It made her feel… nonexistent and that for her was home.

Walking over to the railing of the bridge she rested her hands on the the cool metal and just watched. She looked in thought and bent over to take her heels off. Grabbing the shoes she opened a portal beside her. A similar tear erupted above the metal railing. Stepping though she slid her feet onto the rails and began to balance herself. As a cheerleader she had excellent balance adjusting easily she moved across the rail and looked out at the water's reflection. “Sometimes I wonder how to get there. That reflective world. I can control space go anywhere I want to see but not other planes. Not anymore…” Min said crouching down toward the railing and looking over the water. “I hate that.”

Alaric just watched her play around on the railing for a few moments, enjoying the view of Min and listening to her talk.

She stopped moving on the rails, crouching down and staring deep into the waters as something began to bother her. Alaric rolled up to his feet and walked up, leaning against the rail right next to her. "Want to talk about it?"

Min smiled at him and sat down on the rail letting her feet dangle above the vast drop below them. Looking out at the water she leaned on her arm as she spoke. “When I was a kid. I was placed in a pretty bad situation. It wasn’t something I wouldn't wish on anyone, especially a child.” She pauses for a moment and let the cool air brush against her before continuing. “While I was there… I guess I lost myself. But in doing so I became something so big and powerful I wasn’t me, but everything. I could do so much, be so much I was free because we were free!” She said with fire in her voice, she passion resounded in her.

“But then I was saved from that situation and that everything I was, was taken away leaving…” She shrugged, “nothing.” Pausing for a moment the loneliness flickered in her eyes, “I lost who I was to be everything and then I lost everything and became nothing.” She gave a sad smile, “of course everyone tried to fill me with something, and some of it stuck. But you know I still feel pretty empty, like pebbles on a pedestal where a statue should be. Part of me even wishes I was never saved.” She looked over to Alaric, “isn’t that awful of me? I want so badly to go back to being everything that I’d rather be back in that hell?” She placed her hand to her chest as she continued. “I often wonder if that’s why I can astral project now. My desire to leave this shell was so strong that I willed myself to tear away from it. I like astral projecting. I’m far stronger than while in this body, If I could live like that forever I’d at least feel a fraction of how strong I used to be. But of course I can’t I’ll die if my astral form doesn’t return and I’m so tired of being nothing.”

Alaric said nothing as he joined her in sitting on the rail. What could he say? Alaric couldn't understand what she had been through. He lost a twin and that was it. His entire life didn't get completely flipped around. His power didn't change. Hell, if anything, Al's power was better than it ever was.

It sounds like it was the equivalent of Al losing a leg. Hopping really fast wouldn't be the same.

Al couldn't even begin to unpack and respond to all that. So he just wrapped his arm around Min's waist and pulled her close.

"You've been through hell, by the sound of it. I won't claim to know exactly what you're going through.but I don't think you're nothing. While you were drugged last night, something happened. I'm not entirely sure what, but you felt… Different. Stronger. Your presence was larger than normal. You created dozens of portals at once. And when I touched you, you zapped me pretty good."

He cleared his throat, and continued, "sounds like a lot of that power is still in you, and you just don't know it."

He pulled her closer, "I want to help you. I will. We already agreed to help each other. So talk to me. Train with me. Don't go back to hell unless it's the only option left. And don't say you're nothing. You're trying, which is far more that the people who actually are nothing, try to do. If I'm not allowed to be hard on myself, neither are you."

To accentuate his point, and his willingness to help her, Al leaned over and kissed her on the cheek.

Feeling his gentle hand around her waist she smiled softly as he pulled her in. Listening to him though, her smile faded a bit as she grew worried. Did that really happen? I…couldn’t have tapped into it. And I hurt him?! The more she tried to search through her memory the quicker it faded, just like back then. Except this time she wasn’t left with all those feelings inside. Honestly the notion that she still held onto that power, both terrified and comforted her. Girls are a complex bundle of emotions.

As he pulled her even closer Min met Alaric’s eyes and blushed at that determined gaze. It was a gaze she's seen in so many people she loved and eventually will disappoint. Hearing his words it struck a cord with her and she could feel her chest tighten. Watching him lean in close her blush only deepened as he kissed her flushed cheeks. Surprise on her face it slowly softened to a smile, that held a hint of sadness in it. “Okay…” she said softly as she reached out and hugged him. “I'll try, I'll keep trying.” She said her body trembling from her emotions she held onto him a bit tighter as she continued “I'm sorry I hurt you. I don't remember it but I'm sorry.”

Letting her arms fall she slid her hand across his back and held his hand tightly. “I know that I just said I wanted to go back to that power, but I can't. No matter how badly I want to.” Slowly as she met Alaric's eyes revealing the seriousness of her own. “If you see me like that again, you have to stop me at all costs.” She shook her head, “nothing good comes from hell Alaric. That includes me.” She wanted to go back so badly, but she made a promise to her father to stay strong. To battle her addiction, like he was battling his. He gave up too much for her to give in, knowing he was fighting with her was a comfort. Just like knowing Alaric was with her now.

He kissed her forehead as he squeezed her hand. "I may not know your hell, Min. But I have one of my own. And I happened to literally sell my soul." He blew a huge sigh and then chuckled at his own stupidity. "More on that some other time. I was desperate for information about Ahren."

He rested his head against hers. "I promise I'll stop you next time. And your zaps didn't hurt, they just tingled, like a 9-volt battery on the tongue."

Alaric kind of trailed off, but quickly picked back up. "I'll always save you. And you'll never have to apologize or thank me. I'm here because I want to be. I'm here because I can't think of anywhere I'd rather be."

Min's eyelashes fluttered as he kissed her forehead and mention how he somehow sold his soul. Confused again as he rested his head against her own she met his eyes. Hearing his explanation her worry subsided, whatever happened she knew that wasn't the power she once had. Though now she worried what it could of been.

Her thought process stopped as Alaric spoke up again and smiled. Wiping a tear away she nodded, about to thank him instead she squeezed his hand. "Hey Alaric, that sounds like being a hero to me."

Alaric gave her a look, and quickly looked away, self conscious. His free hand rubbed the back of his neck in an embarrassed fashion.

"I don't know about that. I just happened to be around a damsel in distress. What else was I supposed to do?"

She giggled as he looked a bit embarrassed, it was cute. Min tilted her head and just looked at him, he was a good guy. She wondered if he was what she could be looking for, strong, passionate, protective and able to handle her party girl side. There were dark paths she shouldn't go down and she needs someone to step in and stop her. Embarrassed at just thinking about this she tried to hide it with teasing. “That's textbook hero talk. And you said you didn't know if you're the hero type!”

Her eyes softening she smiled, “I think you'll be a wonderful hero, Alaric. To me and everyone else.”

Now it was Alaric's turn to be genuinely embarrassed. He made few attempts at starting a sentence. Most likely a witty retort. He was good at those.

Usually. This time, he only said, quietly, "Thanks Min." Before staring out over the water, a bit bashful over the unexpected compliment. He tightened his grip on her waist, but didn't say anything more.

Min smiled and rested her head on his shoulder as they looked out at the peaceful scene. Sitting there for a moment Min looked out at the Ferris wheel and smiled. Poking his side she looked over at him, “do you wanna race to the Ferris wheel? Speed vs portals. Who’s faster?!” She asked with a playful grin.

Alaric watched over the skyline and water for a while, before being surprised by a jab in the side.

He jumped a bit, and it was a bit of a feat to not fall into the water.

Al rolled back, landing on his feet back on the grassy knoll. He backed up several feet. "Hell no babe. You did not just challenge me to race. Loser pays. On go."

His eyes flared red, "three."

Alaric settled into a low crouch, prepping his legs for explosive acceleration, "two."

Alaric began to run towards the railing, "one."

Al leapt onto the railing where he was sitting with her, turning his head to lock eyes with Min as he crouched to build the power before his jump, "go."

As he said go, he uncoiled like a spring, soaring over the river towards the pier. He landed in a forward somersault, and kept bolting his way to the ferris wheel, offering shouted apologies at the people he nearly ran over as he made his way towards the finish line.

Min smiled coyly as he took the challenge and watched the light in his eyes. Letting him get ready Min watched him leap onto the railing as the countdown was almost done. “Good luck.” She said blowing him a kiss before he leapt off the railing and took took the air.

Min slid her body off the rail long and plummeted down a portal opened below her and she fell through landing on the other side onto the Ferris weel’s tallest car. Looking out at the city she smiled, watching the twinkling lights. It was nothing like the dead cities of her home world. No this place was alive and she was here.

Looking over she noticed a blur streak across the boardwalk. She smiled and watched as Alaric ran towards the wheel. Ducking under the moving mechanisms as the car began to lower she smiled at Alaric as he arrived looking quite pleased with himself. As the couple inside stopped and other began to notice her atop of it she called out to Alaric. “It took you long enough!” She hopped down and ignored the annoyed employee as she made her way over to him. “And here I thought you were fast.” She said, playfully egging him on.

Alaric screeched to a halt as he heard Min's voice. That sucked. Alaric prided himself on his speed. It was the only thing he had. Still, a loss was a loss.

He sighed, admitting defeat, "Yeah, I thought I was too. Guess not." Alaric said as he grabbed his wallet and paid the attendant.

The attendant grumped at Min a bit, mainly about safety stuff and the potential of losing his job. However, none of it was angry, and he let the couple go on the ferris wheel with the discount, after his lecture was done.

Alaric held the door for Min, and then took a seat across from her as he pulled the door shut, and the wheel began to slowly lift them higher as each carriage filled up.

Min shrugged as he seemed a bit saddened though it was only logical that between instant travel and speed instant travel was going to win. Deciding to cheer him up she wrapped her arms around his own and pulled him close to her chest. “Hey, you're just the right speed for me.” Watching him as he paid the attendant, Min boredly pretended to pay attention to the attendant’s lecture. Having been able to do mostly anything she wants has made her more than a bit spoiled. Thanking the attendant as he let them ride she smiled as Alaric held the door for her.

Sitting down she watched Alaric take the seat across from her and smiled. Kicking up her feet, her stocking now dirty from not wearing shoes she let out a sigh. “That was fun. This whole day was fun! I have to go on more of these date things.” Min laughed to herself as she thought about how much of a deal Claude made a date seem to be, these are fun. Looking over at Alaric she gave him a contented smile. “Thank you, Alaric. Truly.”

Still flushed from getting his head pressed into her breasts, Alaric's chest tightened as she spoke. He looked out the window for a while, trying to think of things to say.

This was difficult for him. Compliments. Being thanked or praised. Being open. Alaric was uncomfortable.

He spoke up as they got near the top, still staring out the window. "I'll take you on as many dates as you want."

Min noticed him look away and her smile only softened. She liked this cute side of Alaric, sliding her feet she rested her foot against his leg and rubbed it gently. “Don’t say that. You’ll end up spoiling me.” She said her voice fading as she grew tired. Opening that portal took her toll on her, one she often tried to hide.

Alaric turned to look at her when he felt her start playing with his leg. Feet weren't necessarily his thing, but the intimacy was still nice.

He got over himself, emboldened by her positive sounding response. "I think part of you wants to be spoiled by me. I would enjoy it."

He reached over with his free leg and began rubbing her free leg, after kicking off his shoe.

Min giggled as he replied and began to play with her leg as well. “You'd enjoy spoiling me?” Genuinely ticklish there she wriggled away and used her other foot trying to playfully push him away. Laughing she sat up and looked over at him and smiled brightly. “Ah! Stop! It tickles!”

"Yes. I think I actually want to spoil you. What do you say?"

She was ticklish? "Never reveal your weakness," he said as he sat up and reach across, adding his hands to their game of footsie. He reached for her sides, tickling then as well, closing the already minimal distance between them.

“Ah!” Min let out an excited scream as he continued to tickle her adding his hands a well. Rolling with laughter she tried to escape him! “Nooo! Ha ha ha! Stoooop!” Unable to evade him she slid her legs up onto her side of the car in an attempt to save herself from being tickled.

Alaric continued to mess with her, enjoying her laughter. This was such a great change from the dark mood not even fifteen minutes earlier, when she was going off about her past.

After several moments of this, he began to grow aware of the heat of her body. The smell of her. The miniscule amount of distance between them.

His tickling slowed down as he got more and more distracted by her. Finally he stopped, hands on her waist, their faces and bodies inches from each other's. Alaric stared into Min's eyes, trying to gauge her feelings about this situation.

Min laughed happily as he continued to tickle her until her side began to hurt. Wriggling away she couldn't help being ticklish enjoying the levity even at her expense. Noticing him slowly stopping she looked over at him, watching him watching her. Her heart began to beat faster as he met her eyes. Blinking up at him she didn’t know what was going to happen next. Thinking back to her brothers advice, she recalled him mentioning something like this. Running through the possible responses she bashfully looked away. Hiding her face under the silver waves of her hair. “Don't look at me like that.” Min said softly.

"Okay. Sorry."

That hurt. Alaric's chest tightened painfully. Silently, he sat back in his seat, making sure to give as much room to Min as humanly possible in this tiny ferris wheel carriage. He made it a point to not look at her.

Normally rejection didn't bother Alaric. Part of the game when it came to picking up chicks. But actually liked Min. This time it really did bother him.

The ride came to a stop, and as soon as he could, he opened the door and stepped outside, lighting a cigarette and taking several steps away, giving both of them space.

"Out of curiosity, why?"

Min didn't look at him as he pulled back. He almost seemed to recoil from her completely. Her brothers teachings were something she'd never really understand, but she promised she'd follow them whenever the situation arose. Glancing over at him she felt bad, he seemed so hurt and Min honestly didn't understand. Unsure what to say next Min sat there quietly as the ride began to come to its end.

Watching him as he got out she slowly put her shoes back on and followed behind him. Watching him light a cigarette she was a little surprised when he finally spoke up. Even more confused she innocently replied, “why what?”

Min answered him with a question. Alaric finished his cigarette before answering, his voice and eyes dull.

He shook his head. Al had almost forgotten that he had to teach her how to do something as simple as a movie. He swallowed through the pain in his chest on throat, "Never mind. Sorry for pushing myself on you like that."

He flicked his cigarette into the water, and made eye contact with her for the first time since this awkward moment started.

Min met his eyes and could see something really hurt him. Reaching out to him she took his hand, the warmth from the cigarette pulsating off his hands. “Hey. It’s alright.” She shifted her weight and blushed a bit in embarrassment, “honestly it’s pretty embarrassing to be looked at with...I honestly don’t know what. They way you looked at me… it was different like I was something captivating. Like a siren or something mythical.” She said squeezing his hand.

Holding her hand, which was so pleasant for Alaric just a short while ago, was now uncomfortable. His hand twitched in hers, but he mustered the willpower to not pull it away.

Instead, he just quietly led her to a nearby bench as she talked. When she mentioned captivating, he snorted softly, "Yeah. I guess you could say I'm captivated by you."

He went quiet for a second, then spoke up again.

"After Ahren left, I became the unwanted one. I could do whatever I wanted because no one gave a shit. I'm not good at intimacy and feelings like this, I'm good at one night stands and violence. Normally I would have just planted a kiss on you, instead of hesitating and making sure it was alright. Because you are…" it took him to find the right word, "Special to me. Make me feel wanted. If you could remember last night, you'd understand why I'm confused about you."

Looking up at him as he confirmed his captivation she blushed a bit deeper. Sitting with him on the bench she let her hold on his hand lessen as she could tell he was uncomfortable. Listening to him as he spoke she looked away as he spoke about being unwanted. Feeling something similar, Min didn't think that children here would be so complex. Being here was much different from books or the happy faces she saw astral projecting. As he continued Min looked back at him and her blush deepened as he said she was special to him. Leaning in close to him she tried to meet his eyes. “What happened last night Alaric?”

Alaric blew a huge sigh when she asked that question, and lit up another cigarette, seriously wishing he could go shoplift something strong from the nearest liquor store first.

"I'm going to start by apologizing in advance. We were both out of our minds of drugs and booze, and possibly someone's ability. I'm kind of glad I don't know how you feel about me now, because this may ruin that."

He took a super long drag and blew a few smoke rings before he told her everything, no secrets kept, as best as he could remember it.

"... And then you woke up and portaled us back to the dorms. And now we're here."

Alaric leaned back, feeling better now that he unloaded that baggage. "I feel a bit guilty. I should have been better than that. And here I was talking about saving you just over there," he said, pointing over at the bank they were at before their race.

Min's eyes widened as he explained it all her blush encompassed her face as she placed her hands on her cheeks. “God all that happened?! No wonder you're confused!!” She shouted a bit too loudly. Leaning in she placed her hands on the bench and looked at him sternly. “You should have told me! Jerk!” She said weakly punching him. Trying to mask her embarrassment she finally got the picture of what he was feeling. Thinking about her actions and what she is she could understand. “I guess you're wondering if I'm a party girl or this innocent girl. And I mean to answer that question I'd say both.”

Tugging at her hair she gave a bashful smile, “for all my life I was sheltered. When I was taken, I was imprisoned, after I was saved my sheltered life also became a prison. I just don’t know a lot. My brother came to me and taught me what he could. He truly gave me a lust for life.” She gave a soft laugh, “so finally being free I want nothing more than to live in the moment. I like to party. I drink as much as I eat and I love to dance and be apart of the moment.” Tilting her head she gave a concerned smile, “I’m not really the one night stand or quick to kiss type even when I party.” Looking over at him with flushed cheeks she smiled. “In fact you’re my first kiss here and I hate that I don’t remember it.”

Reaching out she rested a hand on his cheek and smiled at him. “I wasn’t fully in control, neither of us were, but you made the choice to keep me safe and for that I want to say thank you. If you want to know how I feel about you I think you’re a sweet, fun and caring guy who I want to get to know more and have more fun dates with.”

Alaric listened to her talk in silence, not really wanting to speak right now. Putting himself out there and getting shot down had drained a lot out of him emotionally.

He could barely keep his eyes locked with hers. Even with what she was saying, he really couldn't muster up any positive feelings. "How long am I gonna have to wait?"

Min looked at him a bit worried and even more confused than before. “Wait for what?” Giving a soft laugh she shrugged a bit, letting her hand leave his face. “If you're waiting to kiss me. You don't have to hold back. Besides, I'd like to know what my first kiss was like.” She said looking at him bashfully.

Alaric took a moment to process that complete one eighty. And then another. After another moment trying to make words happen, he finally managed to sputter out.

"What."

Min placed a finger to her cheek and spoke. “Well I mean you said we already kissed and I believe you. So if you want to kiss me like before I don't mind. Honestly I'd like to know what kissing you...would...feel...like…?” She finished growing more embarrassed as she finished her sentence. Wait what if he doesn't want to kiss me? Growing flustered she looked back at him. “I-I mean that's if you want to! I don't want to p-pressure you. I'm sorry! I didn't know what I was thinking you probably don't want to kiss me. I mean what would you I'm so weird and don't know things and ask a lot of stupid questions and…” She said babbling on nervously not really sure when to stop.

Alaric tried to say something, now that the train was finally leaving the station. But she started to panic and just spewed an avalanche of thoughts and emotion into his ears.

But Al's doubts and chest pain started to go away as a different sort of tightness wrapped around his heart. This might ruin the current relationship, but Al was prepared to completely nuke it.

Since it didn't look like Min was going to stop freaking out, Al interrupted her by cupping her chin in his hand, and pulling her to meet him in the middle, his lips pressing passionately against hers.

“And like what is hot sauce?! I never got to do anything at a-” Min’s babbling stopped as Alaric pulled her into a passionate kiss. Shocked she calmed in his hands and fell into the kiss. Leaning in closer she met his pace, letting her tongue explore his mouth just as she did before.

Letting the kiss go on as long as possible once they broke for air Min let out a soft gasp and looked at him. “Wow…” Blinking a bit registering her first, well second, kiss. Looking at him, she asked. “Was that how it was like before?”

As their tongues met, Alaric removed the hand from her chin and wrapped it around her waist, pulling her in right.

Their lips broke apart, and a breathless Alaric could feel the heat of her breath and her blushing.

"There was a lot more of it. Minutes. And a lot of feeling each other up. Maybe it's a good thing you don't remember the things you touched. Be a surprise later."

He chuckled, his gloomy mood replaced by a pleasant numbness. "So this is what it's like to like a girl. This is new."

Min blushed harder as he mentioned what she touched and wrapped her arms around his neck. “Don’t tease me! I’m already so embarrassed. I honestly don’t usually do that even when I’m drunk or high.” Pouting a bit as she spoke. Looking up at him she smiled as he spoke and was glad that he was doing better. “I already liked you, for a speedster you need to catch up.” She said giving him a playful wink.

Alaric smiled at her embarrassment. "I'm not sure I believe you. I saw a high, drunk freak." He whispered into her ear, lightly kissing it as he pulled back and then showing mercy.

"Forgive my slow brain. Poor bastard's taken a few too many hits."

Min jolted as he pecked her ear and let out an embarrassed whimper. He was relentless in teasing her however she enjoyed seeing him happy again. Min smiled as he could joke again. “You just have to take better care of yourself. How else will you be able to keep up with me?” She said while playing with his hair.

With a snort, Alaric replied, "Eh. I don't think I'd be able to figure you out, even if I spent my life trying. Teleporting is faster than running. We're on different wavelengths."

Min giggled at that, “you’re right about that. You know you’ve got really good intuition.” There was a soft chime on Min’s watch as the hologram awoke and projected the time. It was midnight which meant it was seven at her home in Russia. “I have to go soon.” Min said softly leaving back she looked into his eyes, “will you take me back to the dorms?”

Alaric smirked at that, "I get lucky once in a while." He was interrupted by Min's watch. He wasn't entirely sure what it meant, but it also really wasn't his business.

He said nothing about it, instead just offering Min his arm and saying, "Sure."

Taking his arm she stood up with him and smiled, “thank you.” Walking with him she wondered how they would get there and decided this time to treat him for the ride. “Let me open a portal this time. The walk back is pretty long.” Before he could protest she already opened a portal and the duo walked through.

As they made their way to the dorms Min stopped before they entered. “This is as far as I go. Thank you for tonight it was a lot of fun!” Min said with a smile.

"You're still a total mystery to me. It's kinda hot." Alaric said in response to her thanks. He figures she'd open a portal. They had both had a hell of a bipolar night.

Al could've had them back in ten minutes, but Min probably wouldn't set an alarm if it wasn't important. He let her lead him through.

Back outside the dorm, Alaric got his bearings and responded, "yeah, most of it was. I think I need party Min
next time. Might be best to deal with you separately."

He chuckled, and wrapped his arms around her shoulders, "maybe next time we'll skip the awkward shit, and make people uncomfortable in public."

Min giggled and nodded, “take me to a party then.” She said with a smile. Feeling his arms wrap around her shoulders she looked up at him and tilted her head. “Sounds like a plan, as long as you can keep to my pace, speedy.” She said pulling on his collar to bring his face closer to hers before giving him a deep passionate kiss.

"Hell no babe. You did not just challenge me to a race." Alaric replied, echoing words he said earlier. He gladly met in in the middle for a heavy kiss, doing his utmost to prolong the experience.

Min’s watch beeped again this time more frantic. Breaking the kiss she gave him an apologetic look. “Sorry I really have to go.” Giving him a quick kiss she slid from his grasp and opened a portal. “See you tomorrow!” The morning sun shone out of the portal and Min gave him one last look before stepping through. The portal closed right after and the night ended.
The After the Monster Attack
Here we are, the Two of UsKnocking on Haruo and Naoto's dorm doors Min rocked on her heels thinking about what to really do or say when he opened the door. All she did was send him a message earlier asking if he was in his dorm. When he asked why Min didn't want to say anything too early and especially over a message so instead she just replied that she had something to ask him.

Now she was standing there in her long skirt and looked out at the main area thinking about the other students and their lives here. It truly felt surreal. Running her fingers through her hair she twirled the edges around in her fingers as she began to hum softly. For anyone who was there they'd recognize it as one of the battling band's songs from the Chorus and Drama club. The duo team with the head singer a purpled haired upperclassmen by the name of AJ.

Fortunately for Min, Naoto seemed to be out at that moment, an early bird who got the worm, at least compared to Haruo. Thus, when the time came and she waited at his door, the boy opened it as expected within a few moments, a curious look on his face.

“Hey, Min. What’s up?” He asked with a soft smile, one that he really seemed to only give to Min, whether he realized it or not. Certainly, it wasn’t like he ever smiled that much when hanging out with say, Naoto, in comparison. “What did you wanna talk to me about?”

Min turned to face Haruo as the door opened. Seeing that soft smile on his face she honestly couldn't believe how uncanny it was. Smiling back at him she waved, a bit embarrassed. “Ah, hi, yes. I have a few...well…” Her Russian accent began to grow stronger as she stammered. Min stopped herself and began trying to think of the best way to start this. Pondering deeply she looked up at Haruo. “Do you mind taking a walk with me right now?”

[The walk]
They didn't walk far, simply around the large courtyard of the school, taking in the blossomed flowers on the trees before they wilt for winter. The air was warm and consistent, the warm breeze catching Min's hair and long skirt as they walked. Leaning against a banister Min began to speak. “Hey Haruo. What kind of job makes you seen all around the world, all the time?”

Haruo didn’t ask too many questions, not wanting to come off as any sort of pushy, especially as it felt a bit like she was a bit elusive when it came to answering him, but he had to admit it felt like Min was being pretty overly cryptic right about now, at least from his point of view. Still, far from him to reject a walk with her. Not that he had anything better to do anyway, of course.

When Min finally spoke again, Haruo furrowed his brow at her sudden, strange question. Literally speaking in riddles now, were we? He paused for a moment, knowing better than to question why she would ask such a thing. Haruo had gotten used to Min’s whimsical nature by now, and though that was the kind of personality he might have found grating on anyone else, he didn’t mind it too much with Min.

“Uh… an actor? An idol?” He answered cluelessly. What, did Min want to be an idol? That would be… er, something. But he shouldn’t let his imagination run wild, probably.

Min looked over at him, “an idol? Hmm…” she said thinking to herself before she smiled over at him. “Sorry for being so weird and asking you to come out here. I just like the wind and the fall air. Helps calm me down when I get a bit flustered.” She said blushing a bit as she laughed at herself.

“Anyway I wanted to ask if you wouldn't mind being my partner...for the Chorus and Drama club project.” She said as she walked over to him. “I know you play piano and I want to work on a song with you. If you don't mind.” She said looking into his eyes trying to see his answer.

“Project…?” Haruo blinked mildly as Min spoke to him, finally breaking the ice and telling him what she wanted. He furrowed his brow lightly, taking a moment to even remember what she was talking about, before nodding.

“Aah, right… We do ought to do something like that, don’t we?” He said, finally remembering now. All incoming Freshmen are required to do a performance, solo or in a pair. Guess this was their way of weeding out who really was and wasn’t interested. Jeez, did this mean they’d have to do a performance… in front of people? Terrifying.

Pocketing his hands, he pondered the white-haired girl’s question, pursing his lips pensively for a moment. Admittedly, it had been a decent while since he’d played, but on the other hand, muscle memory like that didn’t really fade so easily. He’d just need to know what to play, but…

It was then that Haruo was admittedly taken aback by the intense, earnest gaze Min gave, pointedly looking into his eyes in an assertive (if not deliberate) gesture to reach him. He blinked again, looking back at her albeit with a much more diffident look in comparison.

“R-Right, I’d like that,” he nodded. “And you’d be singing then, maybe? Sounds like you really are on your way to becoming an idol,” he quipped jokingly, hoping to break (his own one-sided) tension with that.

“Really?!” Min said excitedly, as he asked if she was singing, she nodded. Her eyes shining as he said she was on the way to becoming an idol. “Do you think so? Me an idol?” Unsure if she could do it, she thought it would be a good goal to reach for.

Letting out a heavy sigh, she hadn’t realized it but she was holding her breath waiting for his answer. She was so nervous at just the thought of trying this, let alone doing it alone. Placing a hand on her chest, “thank you so much, Haruo.” Looking over at him she smiled, “I’d be absolutely terrified to do this on my own. I’m glad you’ll be by my side.”

Stepping forward she went to hug him, but paused, knowing how uncomfortable he was with it before. “Can I hug you?” She asked looking up at him bashfully.

“Yeah, ‘course you can be an idol! You already look the part anyway,” Haruo responded, though wondered of the inadvertent implications of saying that.

Clearing his throat again, he blinked sheepishly when asked if she could hug him. Well, what was he gonna do? Say no? Giving the girl a wry smile, steadily feeling more and more comfortable with her the more time they spent together, Haruo nodded.

“You sure can, if you’d like,” he responded drolly, opening out his left arm as though presenting himself. “I’m sure we’ll do great together. Like Bonnie and Clyde! Alright? So no need to worry.”

Not that Haruo actually had that much faith in himself either. In fact, he had to admit himself he was actually pretty nervous too, but he wasn’t about to pass this opportunity to look cool in front of Min!

Min eyes shined brightly as he agreed and she quickly leapt into his arms. Wrapping her own arms around his neck she smile up at him their noses touching as she did. “Right! Us together it’s going to be great!” She looked into his eye and smiled again before resting her head under his chin.

“Now I just have to think of something to sing.” Min mused happily, only to stop and realized she had no idea what to sing about. Letting go of him she pulled her finger to her chin. “What am I going to sing. Maybe something from home? But something that matches with a piano. Maybe something my mother sang to us.” Min thought aloud again, before humming the tune softly.

“Oof!” Haruo blinked mildly as it felt like he bit off a more than he could chew, Min’s hug catching him by surprise even though he had consented to it not five seconds ago, and more than that, their faces being bunched so closely together that their noses were practically touching. Resisting the urge to make another sound, he pursed his lips sharply, pointedly and painfully aware of the potentially compromising situation.

Egg on his face for expecting something a little more reserved, maybe. But maybe that was something he could say he liked about Min.

He let the hug linger for as long as Min liked, staying silent for that moment. Out of Min’s sight, his mild, placid smile seemed to leave for just a moment, replaced with a more contemplative, distant look, but his relatively levelheaded disposition quickly returned to take its place before long. The moment felt like it lasted forever, for better or for worse, with just the two of them like that.

Once she did eventually let go of him, pondering over what to sing, Haruo could only give a slight shrug. Even if he did play an instrument, he admittedly wasn’t that well-versed in a lot of music. Listening to Min begin to hum, Haruo nodded along with it, pocketing his hands.

“... Sounds nice. Something from your childhood, is it?”

Looking back at him she nodded, “yes. It's the only song I remember from my home. I've never heard another though I'm sure there's more.” Min said with a bashful smile. “Still the lyrics need a bit of trimming and I've never heard music along with it. I guess we have our work cut out for us, huh?”

“Oh by the way I wanted to invite you to this.” Min said taking out a ticket to Heartland Amusement park. Heartland, the well known for being a romantic getaway for couples. “It's for this weekend. I hope you'll come with me. I've never been to an amusement park before.” She said before handing it to him, “I was going to ask you regardless of what you were going to tell me. I want to spend time with you and have fun.”

Ah, well. Yeah, that would definitely be another surprising point to--

“Huh?” Haruo uttered with a surprised blink as Min suddenly turned to give him a peculiar ticket.

To the local amusement park, of course. Where else? It was only the hottest date spot for people with too much time and money on their hands. What was weird about that?

When Min elaborated, mentioning on how she’d never been to an amusement park before, Haruo sheepishly ran a hand through his hair, letting out a soft breath. “Is that right? I… uh…” He stammered initially, before taking another moment to regather his faculties. “You wanna go there… with me?” He continued, almost as though in mild disbelief.

“Surprised you’d pick me, really. Wonder how many boys would clamor at a chance like this,” he teased, eventually accepting the ticket with a nod. “Truth be told though, I’ve actually never been to one either, so maybe this’ll be a new experience for both of us,” Haruo went on, before furrowing his brow for a moment.

“How’d you even get your hands on something like this anyway?”

Min’s eyes shined as he took the ticket and mentioned that he had never been to an amusement park as well. Taking his hands she bounced a bit excited, “that’s so cool! We gotta do a lot at the park! I’m so excited! It’s going to be a brand new experience!” She said quickly getting carried away from the new experience. However, her thought process was stopped as he asked her how she got the tickets. “Hmm? Oh! I won them at the water balloon event during the club festival!” Min said smiling up at him. Tilting her head she mused, “why do you ask?”

“Huh, I see…” He only said curiously, folding his arms behind his back. “Why do I ask? No reason. Just curious,” he continued. They really just handed out tickets essentially? Wack.

Clearing his throat, Haruo gave Min his full attention once again. “In any case, I guess that’s that! In the meantime, we should get started on that song then, don’t you think?”

Min nodded, “right! I'll set up a reservation in the piano room during the club time!”
Claude and Min: Real Men Lift Cheerleaders1572232444367.png“Alright Fish!” Fish was the cheerleaders playful nickname for the freshmen squad. In earnest it seems like it would fit the swim team newer members more but that doesn’t seem to be the case. “We’re so lucky to have so many of you join! You’re all halfway through training and so we’d thought we’d pair you up for single lifts. This person will be your partner from here onwards so get along now!” Cora said happily as another squad member called out the pair names.

“Claude and Min.” The guy said before continuing to the next pair.

Min looked over to Claude as they were paired together and waved to him.

Once they were all called they were asked to pair up and get to know each other. Min was quickly lost in the crowd as she was one of the smallest cheerleaders in the squad. “Oh umm,” Min said trying to make her way around the others.

“Min, over here!” Claude called, waving an arm to call her out of the crowd. He was lucky that he actually got someone he was already friends with, it’d make the exercises a lot easier. Don't get him wrong, all the cheerleaders were cool people, but the freshman he trained with, outside of a few, were super basic. It was like they were extras, just to make the scene with the main characters more alive.

Claude stretched a little when she made her way over. “How are you finding things? I assume nobody’s giving you trouble or anything?”

As Claude waved to her and the crowd clearing Min made her way over to him and smiled. Pulling her arm behind her back she stretched it with her free arm. The muscles of her exposed midriff tightening as she did so. Giving a soft chuckle as he asked if anyone was giving her troubles she looked over at him with a coy smile. “Shouldn’t you be asking the opposite?” She said giving him a wink as she locked her fingers together and swung her arms over her head before bending down. Stretching for a another moment she let her hands go and straightened back up her hair flipping in the air before landing back in place.

Arching her back she placed a hand on her hip, “what about you? Have you found some trouble?”

Claude laughed as he finished his own stretches, the male cheerleading uniform conforming to hug his muscular body. "No no, I'm fine. Only trouble I have is my wonderful friend Min Johannas. Everyone else loves me." He joked, hopping up from a ground stretch back to his full height. Claude let a soft groan escape as the tension left his body before he smiled, making sure his hair was perfect as he continued talking. "I mean, did you expect me to be trouble? I'm hurt, honestly." He added sarcastically, glancing down at Min to take in her attractive figure. She didn't seem like it'd take much effort to lift her, but keeping balance while she did her thing might take some getting used to. At least he wouldn't drop her.

Finding himself analyzing for a bit too long, he cleared his throat and dropped his arms to roll his shoulders and stretch his arms.

“Little old me? Trouble? Couldn’t be.” She playfully mused.

Min couldn't help but notice how well his uniform fit his body as he stretched and flexed. Her mind wandering she almost didn't hear what he was saying. As he stood up Min cocked her head as she noticed him looking at her as he continued. Smiling she stepped into his eyeline and met his gaze. “You trouble? I'd never think such a thing.” She said in an almost challenging tone. She was egging him on and having fun with it.

Claude matched her line of sight, meeting her eyes as he laughed. "No, you're lots of trouble. I like trouble, but don't think I've forgotten about how you astral projected inside of me when we met and are now fully capable of slicing me in half. And that's not even the start of everything I need to watch out for." He reminded, looking down at her. Her challenge was clear, and he, being the responsible and mature boy he was, accepted it in full. "See, I'm completely harmless." He blatantly lied, putting a finger to his lips. They both knew he was powerful, in both power and in politics. You don't have a practical global monopoly on all real estate and construction without getting connections. "You're so scary Min, I'm trembling!" He mocked playfully, pretending to cower slightly in front of her.

Min swayed her hips, letting her short cheer skirt flutter as she playfully mused. “I suppose you're right.” She said trying her best to hold back a giggle as he pretended to be afraid of her. They both knew who was stronger but a change in dynamic was fun for both of them. Clearing her throat, she reached out and placed a hand on his cheek. “That's right, but don't worry I'm a benevolent power. Since you're clearly harmless I'll keep you close.” She leaned in closer and stared into his eyes. “You'll be under my protection as my boy.”
Pressing her body against him she gave a devilish smile, “don't worry I'll get you in all sorts of trouble.”

Claude shivered a bit, he hadn't expected Min to get so into it, especially in the middle of cheer practice. Regardless, he smiled, meeting her eyes. "Your boy, huh? You've already got me plenty close." He mused, looking down at her with a sultry look. "I like trouble, and I would love to be as close to you as possible, Miss johannas…" he started, cupping her chin softly. He slid back out of reach finger on his chin with a knowing smile. "But now's not the place, we're at practice Min. Such a naughty friend I have~" he teased, shaking his head slightly.

Min smiled as he spoke giving her such a powerful sultry look she could feel her cheeks heat up. Raising her head as he cupped it she pulled her hand back as he stepped away. Her eyes grew sharp and predatory as her grin turned devilish. She took the hand holding up her chin and slowly moved it away. “Of course. You’re right. But that’s why you’re my boy and not my man. A man would take what he wants, when he wants.” She said before tossing her hair and let his hand go, “but I’m glad you’re so restrained. Since you’d have so many tempting opportunities.” Min said hoping she’d done it right. She still didn’t know why she was acting like this, but she could tell she enjoyed the thrill of it all.

"I'd think a real man would be able to hold back to keep some semblance of professionalism. I think I can manage having some restraint. But can you?" He asked, clearly having fun with the verbal engagement. She never seemed to not know what to say, and that he enjoyed greatly. His golden eyes met her own sharpening eyes as he searched for any cracks in her defense, pleased to see that she seemed fine. He idly wondered how well she could read him as he decided to throw a curveball. "Well then Min, let's get back to the task at hand, yes? I think we have to do partner stretches now, since we stretch more that way."

Min tilted her head at his response and loved every second of it. “Can I be a real man?” Min mused as she shrugged, “well I don't know about anatomically, but sure I can be your role model if you so desperately need one.” She said with a wink before stepping aside and stretching again. Listening to him continue she nodded, “makes sense. So who's on top and who's on bottom.” She said with her last playful jab.

Claude laughed before locking his fingers and flexing them, relishing the loss of tension. "Well, as fun as you on top would be, I'd rather have you on bottom." He teased, motioning to the space between them with his hands. "By all means, let's get to it. If you would bend over, we could actually start stretching and not just flirt. While it's fine with me, sadly, we still need to actually participate in cheer practice. Come on, I don't bite. Much."

Min placed her hands on her cheeks and playfully said, “you were flirting?! I didn't even notice.” She said giggling as she nodded and made her way in front of him and began to bend down into position. The cheerleaders around them were staring at this point, either in intrigue or jealousy. However, Min didn't notice any eyes on her but Claude’s, it was him that was the most important at the moment.

"Oh please, I'm calling it flirting for lack of a better term. We all know how you don't like to play games, going off of the infirmary." He retorted, laughing at the memory before yawning a bit. He really should get some more sleep, he'd been up training late too many times now. Min bent over and he glanced around, suddenly becoming aware of their attention grabbing banter. He cleared his throat before looking down at Min. "Cool. Now unless I get what the upperclassmen cheerleaders were saying wrong all you have to do is take a seat with your legs spread a little. You'll bend over like that while I push you down on your back." He guided, putting his hands on her back as if to explain the motion.

Min chuckled and nodded as she got into position and as he felt his hands on her back she let her body move. She eased easily down to her knees until her stomach touched her thighs. However it was clear that her body could bend even further if pushed to it. Min asked with a smile, “should we go deeper?”

Claude nodded, a little surprised that she was so flexible. It was as if she didn't have any bones to hinder her at all. "I'm honestly surprised you can go so far, Min. We might as well see how far you can go, since you want to show off." He laughed, and gently pushed down on her back some more. The sheer depth of her flexibility was astonishing to Claude, who couldn't help but let his eyes go wide. "Honestly, what do you even do with this much flexibility? It's insane."

As he pushed further she bent with ease. Nothing stopped her but the ground and her breasts. Giggling at his odd compliment she smiled, “if I told you I’d have to kill you.” Min mused only half joking.

Claude laughed at her hopefully empty threat, before feeling the resistance in his pushing, that being the ground. He let her come up, clapping softly at her performance. "I would have challenged you on that, but I must remember the unavoidable cut me in half portal thing you have on me now. I don't understand your secretive nature over a simple trait, but hey, you do you." He helped her up before tapping his chin in thought. "I think that should do it. I'd do more, but I'd rather not give everybody here a free show with how short your skirt is. If you're ready, we can do those single lifts they wanted. I won't drop you, so don't worry yourself too much princess." He joked, stretching his arms one more time.

Min cocked her head as he let go and arched her back. Placing her hands behind her she flipped into a back kickover and landed on her feet beside him with a little spring in her step. “You do know I’m wearing cheer shorts right?” She did with a laugh as she poked his chest. Min looked up at him as he mentioned lifting her she thought about it for a moment clearly weary. “You promise... I… I means I’m not worried.” She lied, “but if you’re not ready. We can wait.”

Claude's eyes glinted as he picked up on a crack in her defense. "Awww, don't worry Min. It's perfectly acceptable to be scared. Even benevolent powers such as yourself can get scared. Do you want me to hold your hand?" He joked, holding out his hand. He laughed at her own trepidation for a bit before sighing. "Don't worry, it's me remember? If in the .1% chance you do fall, I'll catch you. Look, none of the other new cheerleaders have done it yet. Don't you want to show off a bit, just you and me? We got this." He asked, motioning to the still fumbling freshman cheerleaders and their inability to to single lifts.

Min's facade fell as she looked at him worriedly, she was genuinely worried. Hardly noticing the other freshman she glanced at them and noticed how defined their muscles are. Although no one was able to do it yet, Min felt inferior. She stepped forward and looked up at him with worry in her eyes, almost looking as if she was going to cry. “I...I don't know if I'm strong enough.” Sure Min was flexible but when it came to being strong she was pretty weak. She'd been training hard even after cheer practice, but she still had her doubts.

Claude put a hand on her shoulder small smirk on his face. Clearly there needed to be some reassurances instead of jokes. "Min, as much as I'm joking around, we got this. I'm pretty sure you practice more than anyone here, plus you aren't doing this by yourself. I'm here to do the heavy lifting and get you up there, you need to maintain balance and do what you always do, look pretty. We can worry about the special lift stuff later, let's get the basics down first."

Claude gave her a thumbs up before coming up with an idea. "If you do the lift with me, I'll get you whatever you want. As many clothes as you want, whatever electronics you want, as much food as you can eat. Anything! Not a bad deal, right?"

Min looked at him as he spoke and felt a bit relieved. Though she didn't know if she was any good at looking pretty, if anything she felt plain. I suppose he's just trying to boost my confidence. That's nice. Min laughed as he talked about getting her whatever she wanted. Remembering him doing the same when they were with Wen and even earlier with their bet. Taking a deep breath she tried to pick back her confidence.

Shaking her head she smiled up at him, “you really like to promise a girl everything, don't you?” Tossing her hair she cocked her head, “alright I'll take your terms.” Turning to look outward she took his hands and placed them in her waist. She took a deep breath, “Let's do a full extension.” If she was going to try she was going for better than everyone else.

Claude was impressed; Min could recover pretty quickly, and with a bang too. "I only make promises I can keep, just so happens they're usually with you." He answered, smiling as she wanted to do. "Oooh, look who's going big time!" He joked, letting her move his hands to her waist. "Alright normally I'd just pick you up, but with a full extension I should probably ask just to be sure. You ready?"

She nodded, “do it.” As she spoke she felt him lift her up and toss her into the air. Feeling his hand slide down. She felt him rest his palm on the bottom of her foot. Raising her hands in a high “V” lifting her knee as she looked out at the crowd adjusting her balance. She waited for Claude to bring her down with a smile on her face while inside her heart raced. The other freshman looked out in awe as they performed the lift with ease.

Oddly, she didn't call for too much exertion on his side of the lift, it only really called for his confidence and concentration. He held the position for a minute, letting her soak up the lime light before going to set her down. But he didn't plan on setting her down normally, however. He tossed her up a bit and let her fall, right into his outstretched arms. When he caught her he laughed, watching her for any negative emotion. "Told you I'd catch you. See how well we did Min? Brings a tear to my eye." He chided, then set her upon her feet. "I think it's safe to say we're the best freshman cheerleaders. Feels good." He joked. But with their progress to the other freshmen cheerleader's progress, it might be true.

Thinking she'd be lowered down she was shocked as he tossed her up and she quickly lost her balance. Falling into his arms she clutched onto his chest as her heart raced. Hearing him coo she rolled her eyes and glared up at him, though she somehow couldn't stay mad. “Cute. You're a cheeky one aren't you?” She added as she was placed on her feet. Letting him go, her hand noticeably trembled a bit before she held it close to her own chest.

Alexis the second cheer head was about to speak up but Cora stopped her. Making her way over Cora clapped her hands and applauded the duo, “congratulations on your first lift. You two seem to have good chemistry, but your communication skills need work.” Cora looked to Min, “you like to be adaptable but don't forget that in cheer it's about the routine as a whole not the individual. Showboating isn't okay especially when you're already uncomfortable.” Looking over to Claude she continued, “same for you. Showboating is dangerous. Adding non agreed tosses can be dangerous. You could have just as easily not caught her and Min would be in the infirmary or worse. You two are talented but benched until you can preform the lift routine confidently and without non agreed upon additions.” Cora said sternly to the two of them. Making her way back to the other cheerleaders Alexis raises a brow.

“Didn't you just give those two free reign to make their own lift routine?”

“Annd made them work together and gain agreement with one another to preform a routine they’re comfortable with.” Cora said proudly. “Yes! That’s how I roll!”

Claude paled a bit at the stern talking to he'd gotten, he hadn't expected it to be so big of a deal. He mumbled something after she left, before turning to Min. "My bad, I guess it would be a little scary for me to suddenly drop you, even if I caught you. Sorry." He apologized, bowing slightly. He returned to his full height, a smile on his face. "But hey, you did it perfectly! And you were so hesitant." He cheered, shaking his in obvious mock disappointment.

Min shifted her weight as she was scolded not really sure how to feel about it all. However as she listened to Cora bench them Min looked a bit more confused, coming to the same realization as Alexis. Looking over to Claude she barely registered his apology as she tried to be sure she understood. As he began to cheer she put a finger to his lips and smiled. “Do you know what this means?”

“We can choreograph our own lift routine.” Min said her eyes shining with excitement. “I want to do this. We need to start planning now. The freshman training exhibition is in a few weeks. If we can do this right, then they’ll know we’re the best and maybe they’ll promote us to the central squad.

Claude's eyes went wide as she explained, before he took hold of her hand to move it off his lips. "This works out perfectly! We have the same dorm suite, so we could totally plan everything out in our common room then put it to practice here since we've been benched! All we have to do is blow away the other freshmen at the exhibition and we'll have our personal lift routine to blame for us quite possibly making center squad. This is gonna be fun." He laughed, sharing her excitement. You couldn't help but share her energy when she got excited over something.

With a goal in mind the duo began to plan and practice their new routine. Spending hours in the common room setting out complex twists and turns for their lifts. Preforming parts during cheer as they also studied the cheer formations for the group exhibition. Even benched these two were on their A game, a true power couple. However, whenever Claude mentioned his offer Min wouldn’t ever say anything other then “soon.” Before returning back to their work. There were laughs and scares, but mostly a lot of sexual tension masked in playful banter. The two went from friends to close friends fast.
Galpals?!Izzy minding her own business in the makeshift workspace she created after her roommate left heard a rhythmic knock on her door.

Will this be acceptable?”

https://data.whicdn.com/images/176329389/superthumb.jpg?t=1431041997

“Izzy~❤️ Look at me ~❤️” As Izzy let her strength leave her hands Min took both of them and pulled them from her face. Squeezing them tightly she smiled. “Let's do it!” She said beaming over at her. “ I don't know how Heartland will go but if you want the day after I'll take you on all day date!” Genuinely excited to plan a date she began to think of all the cool things the city scene club had to make this date a great one. Taking her own experience with Alaric she was going to do everything she can to make this date then.

The First MissionSitting in gym class Min was worried, her performance in gym. She was always tired when she used her portals, but had to hide it from her classmates. When their enthusiastic teacher came in and told them they wouldn't be training today her whole face lit up. However, when he gave them their first mission Min looked a bit confused. Their first mission was to catch a bouncing ball? Couldn't they just teleport it somewhere else, however, if they had a group chasing the ball then they must have tired everything.

Hearing the groups cheer as they heard about the new mission, Min tried to fein her own excitement.

While everyone else prepared for the mission by going to get the costume Min instead had her attention taken by their Safety and Control teacher, Nyssa Mckune. Making her way over she spoke to her softly and kindly. Min nodded and rubbed her arm feeling a bit uncomfortable but agreed. Passing by the others she opened a portal to Terminal 9's medical room. Stepping out of the portal and into the medical room Min walked over to one of the staff members. "Excuse me my name is Min Johannas...I was told..."

"Oh Miss Johannas! We were waiting for you. Please come this way." The female staff member lead her over to a special medical bed. The woman smiled and motioned for Min to sit there. "Here we'll be able to maintain your body while you fight."

"And the blood?" Min asked worriedly.

"It's all taken care of Miss Johannas! We have what you donated and a multiplier to produce blood. I have to say it's interesting even for a super to have different blood." She said with a bright smile before patting the table. "Don't worry you're in good hands."

Min nodded and laid down and fell asleep, her astral form rose up from her body and Min stood beside the staff member. "Thank you for this." Min said before walking off and waiting for the others. Wishing, the others good luck as they went through the teleporter, Min watched the tired upperclassmen return and felt a bit worried. However, what was more interesting was seeing their comodory with the others. They all laughed and supported eachother even though they were tired. Seeing that, Min felt her body heat up, and she realized she wanted that too. Maybe one day. Min thought as she opened her own portal and landed into the area.

Looking around in the area Min noticed Haruo touch the ball and shoot off from his fingers like a sonic boom. Watching Claude catch Haruo, Min turned her attention to the ball and flew after it.

Following the trail of destruction she opened portals all across the city as the ball wrecked through everything. As the ball charged through buildings Min quickly scanned the rooms and opened portals underneath the civilians who’d likely be hit. In her astral form she didn’t have the limitations of her body and easily opened a portal sending the civilians to the ground or to another part of the room. Watching the ball tear through a concrete wall Min decided she was going to open a portal and send it to space.
Min opened a portal right in front of the ball’s path and fully expected it so shoot eight into the cold vacuum of space. To her shock the ball stopped in its tracks right in front of the portal, resisting the vacuum of space and quickly changed its direction shooting back to the ground. Loosing a lot of it’s momentum the ball bounced off the street and began to bounce off of everything.

Opening a portal Min appeared beside Izzy. "Hey Izzy I tried to open a portal to send the thing to space and it stopped right in it's tracks and changed directions! What gives?! I don't know any ball that could do that! Do you think it's being controlled remotely?"

Raygen Lee
「Interacting~ The Suspicious Eye The Suspicious Eye [|Location~ Everywhere?」

43383_H7ejYdd2.png Raygen slept for the better part of 2 weeks. She felt sick, tired and weak. She tried her hardest to comprehend what was going on but it seems that she got some sort of infection and was dragged off into isolation for the better of everyone around her. It seemed that everyone got better faster than she did, but alas, after spending almost a full 2 weeks alone 'recovering', she was good to go again.

During her little 'week off' she was invited to a party, which, of course she turned up late too, but she was still able to have some fun when she played a little prank on someone she recognized.

Raygen had finally made up her mind and decided she was going to try her best from now on. After she made her way through the portal, she found herself standing in the middle of the street, her eyes suddenly met with her upperclassmen try their hardest to contain a massive, destructive metal ball. Raygen had to admit, it was quite was entertaining. But she was concerned that they really had no idea what they were doing. Yes she was on own for now, and yes, she did not really know how she was supposed to help in this... mission. But she'll try her hardest.fb7429ab593037cf686d7bf666ed3901.png

Considering she was already out in the field all dressed and ready to go, she decided that she might try and give a little perspective on how to stop this thing. She quickly made her way over to a girl, who seemed to be trying to help, watching her open a portal before the ball just completely dipped and avoided it, smashing back into the ground to cause more destruction in its wake. "U-Uh.. Excuse me?" Raygen said in a meek voice, trying to gain the girls attention. She realized that she probably wasn't being loud enough for her to hear, but she figured if this girl didn't see her, she'd have to be blind. Realizing that the girl had opened another portal to god knows where, she turned her attention to the people around her, trying to figure out who would be the best to grab their attention so she could share her ideas.

Leon
Leon, like Claude was thoroughly disgusted at the results of the monster explosion. The whole time he waited to be treated he was scowling. He gave a nod of acknowledgement to Bran when he saw him. While their two families weren't friendly per se, they had interacted often. Their grandfather's had even gone to the same school.

The rest of the week flew by. He hadn't anticipated a shadow monster attacking the literature club, and he had lost his voice the day of the chorus and drama club meeting so he hadn't sung (though he did play a bit). Other than that the week was uneventful.

Leon was excited about their first unsupervised mission. He ran to the designated section to have his costume made and presented a sketch. Given the high presence of metals in the city he knew this would be a good fit.

Leon was the first through the teleporter. As he fell he swung the board below him, activated the boots, and stabilized mid air. "Nice! It works!"

As much as he wanted to do something to the orb he remembered the warning not to touch it. Instead he flew ahead of it. It seemed to be moving in a straight line so he was clearing the way of civilians as much as possible.

Alaric 'Procharge' Vanderbilt

As his hand pierced the exoskeleton of the centipede, a maniac laugh escaped from a similar smile. Alaric landed gracefully, gently sidestepping the corpse as it landed beside him. "At least try to be worth my time," he said, hitting the cigarette he had lit during landing.

11.3 second from pocket to first drag, handicapped by the fact that his right arm was unusable. It was absolutely covered in reeking gore. He didn't want to touch his cigarettes, lighter, or anything with that arm, really.

He checked his arm, suddenly reacting to a sting now that the adrenaline was no longer dulling his sense of pain. His shirt was torn, which was a shame. Alaric peeled it off, tossing it into the nearest trash can. Instantly the smell got better, but it didn't stop the smell coming from the death that lightly spattered him from head to toe.

A portal opened up nearby. Recognizing it as Min's, Al stepped through, tossing his cigarette into the bug as one last insult.

- - -

Alaric wasn't paying attention to the staff currently leading them through the halls of the school. Instead, he was paying attention to the burn of these guts on his flesh.

As soon as he could, Al called for the nearest medical staff, who looked alarmed and pulled him towards the nearest emergency shower.

Alaric accepted the shower, glad to get the reek off of himself. However, he was much less thrilled when massive chunks and strands of brilliant crimson hair started to pool around the drain.

"Ah, you're shitting me."

"Looks like innards of that creature have a corrosive property."

"I'm getting that, thanks."

"Oh right. Uh… sorry kid."

Lamenting the loss of his hair, Alaric stepped out of the shower and gladly accepted a towel as he returned to the group.

A lot of people seemed like they were in serious pain where they were stung.

That was odd. Alaric had a minor burning sensation and a couple of… were those pimples? Alaric poked one curiously and winced in pain. Zits didn't hurt like that. Were these boils? Al had never had those himself, so he truly didn't know.

Still, why did he seem to be the only one in the room only in minor discomfort? A few basic theories would have to be tested later, but right now the soggy victor was up to get his injury looked at.

And he was glad he did. Whatever the hell that thing was, it caused Al's eyes to nearly bug out of his skull. With a nod at the doctor, Alaric met up with a few of his friends as his first (official) hero work came to an end.

Now to find a hairdresser. He found an upperclassman with scissor like claws for hands. Good enough.

Alaric grew steadily more quiet over the course of the next week. He was in a constant state of exhaustion, working himself to sleep every night either in clubs or at the gym. His grades continued to slip as he reached closer and closer to that… something he had felt during his fight with Charlotte. The instinct that something was out of sight, but within arms reach.

He went to bed battered and beaten each night, no-power sparring with anyone up for it, usually until closing time, or until Al could barely stand.

When he was seen in public, it was to eat or go back to bed. He usually had his nose tucked in a book, but God forbid it was a textbook. No, it was his father's texts on quirk research, and he could barely make heads or tails of it. He meditated on what he could understand every morning, and while his academics faltered, his physical prowess blossomed.

Aside from a rager of a party and another date, Alaric spent the week alone and introspective, a rare sight for anyone who knew him.

- - -

Barely paying attention to the announcement, Alaric rubbed his shoulder, weary and sore. Even his sped-up recovery couldn't handle the beating he had given himself since he had fought the bug.

He tugged on the waistband of his pants. A concerned grimace crossed his tired face. 'Have I lost weight?' It wouldn't surprise him. His food intake had slowed, and had been working out far more intensely than usual. Hopefully his costume would still fit. Who would he talk to about that?

He started to make a mental note, but quickly stopped bothering. Alaric was too tired to remember that shit. Instead, his hands came up to rub his eyes and stifle a yawn, reopening a busted lip as he did. He licked the blood from the corner of his mouth, perking up slightly as everyone began to file out, and followed them to the locker room.

After looking up his locker combination for the umpteenth since school started, Al started dressing in his hero costume.

The form-fitting gear didn't leave anything to the imagination, Alaric noted. Ever so slightly self conscious, as he pulled the one-piece, ultrathin suit on. His costume was designed to be as light and aerodynamic as possible, as well lightly messaging on the inside to provide slight muscle rejuvenation and stimulation over eighty percent of his body. Certain areas of the suit were reinforced to protect against heavy impacts.

After wrapping his color-coordinated goggles around his neck, he was off and through the teleporter.

Alaric stood atop a building, calmly watching the monster wrecking ball and barely stifling a massive yawn. For some reason, possibly for the first time in his life, he really didn't feel like fighting. But he really wasn't good for much else. No one else seemed to make any headway when they hit it. Alaric's main skill was hitting things.

He saw himself run down below. Figuring Naoto was at it again, Alaric couldn't help but be jealous. That was a cool power. Running fast was nothing special.

With a sigh, he dropped off the side of the building, running down it to group level.

He had nothing on this orb, so he focused on the building it just crashed through. With his speed and apparent useless fighting this thing, he opted to evacuate citizens from the buildings, zipping up stairs and wall-jumping his way up elevator shafts, just to leap out of a high window with an armful of people. Once they were free and clear, Alaric cleared the next building, pushing his speed and reflexes to their utmost.

It was remarkable how much lighter and easier to control his body felt, his adrenaline pushing his tiredness and soreness into oblivion for the time being. He couldn't wait to try himself out when he was back at 100%.

Other than punching fools and loving the ladies, What else was he good for?

He didn't have time to answer that question, as the building he was in began to collapse.

Forcing air into his tired lungs, his weary heart beginning to throb with adrenaline once more, Al activated his power.

'I've got minutes, if I'm lucky."

Alaric said, to no one in particular, as he ran up another flight of stairs. And another. This building was empty, until Al got to the top floor, his lungs and heart screaming for reprieve.

On the observation deck of the building, the tallest for miles, was a mother and her child. Alaric really didn't have time to talk to them, instead just lifting then onto his shoulders and jumping off the rather tall building.

He wall-jumped and slid down into the alley, occasionally silencing their screams of terror when he smacked them into the walls accidentally.

Finally his time limit came, and Alaric tossed his cargo to the side, both of them landing hard against the ground as he smashed I to brick wall, no longer able to halt his speed with normal human capability.

Alaric fell out of the Al shaped crater in the wall, landed graciously against the asphalt of the alley.

He didn't want to move. Even laying in the filth was painful. But he stood, slowly, awkwardly, his back screaming in pain and heart thudding in his head.

He couldn't breath. He had to consciously had to force air into his lungs. As his previous cargo stood up, he turned to face them.

"Are you… two o… okay?” even that was agony, a sharp cramp existing in just about every muscle even remotely related to breathing.

"I think so. Thank you."

Alaric waved them off, "I didn't do anything worth thanks. I'm just an idiot who runs fast and punches people."

"All the same. You are my son's, and my hero."

Even as exhausted as he was, Alaric couldn't help but give his first real smile in nearly a week. "Well, thanks. Go that way to get away from this thing," he said, pointing towards the evac zone.

The mother scooped up her son, and hurried past Alaric, giving him a hurried kiss on the cheek as she ran off.

Alaric watched where they were for a long time, confused. Confused as to what his power meant. Confused over whether this was a proper path for him. And confused about a lot of the feelings he had been through over the last week.

"She was pretty. Shame I'm not into MILFs."

He stayed in that alley for a while, his injuries (new and old) and exhaustion making him sit down and take a breather.

Alaric struggled to his feet as the building he just jumped off of made concerning noises and began to collapse the rest of the way.

His eyes fizzled red as he looked for any spark of his power. Running at his normal speed, since he couldn't put his power to his legs, couldn't concentrate.

Last minute, he dodged a chunk of steel and concrete. Alaric didn't have the time to question. He just kept reactivating his power, dodgin anything that can too close. He didn't know how, or why, and he couldn't think. Overuse of his power had driven him into unconsciousness, his power dodging for him until it too failed, leaving him like an unstrung marionette in the middle of the road.

Min noticed Alaric's sudden stops and knew that he would soon burn out. She was proud of him, she could tell he was doing everything he could to protect those Innocents. However, he was pushing himself too much and she watched in horror as he suddenly fell unconscious. Opening a portal under him she reached out to catch him only to realize that she forgot she was astral projecting.

Alaric's unconscious body fell through her, into her portal and collapsed on the hard concrete beside Izzy. Looking down at the unconscious boy she gave a worried look at how hard he hit the ground. Shoot! Min thought to herself before opening a portal below Alaric. “I’ll take him back to the Terminal.” As the connection was made Alaric’s body fell through this time landing a little less high from the floor than before. Min called out for the others and they quickly put Alaric into a med bay and let him rest. Min follows making sure Alaric was alright. Once they had him settled Min gave a relieved sigh and glanced over to her body.

Her body, laying on the medical bed looked awful, sweat pulsating across her. Blood seeping from her ears as she writhed back and forth in pain. She’d been using her ability a lot and this was the physical toll. She was not looking forward to returning from her astral form back to that. She’d be hospitalized for a few days for sure letting out a displeased tsk she got ready to leave.

Alaric regained consciousness as Min was preparing to leave. He rolled up to a sitting position, cussing himself out under his breath.

"You look about as good as I do. Am I the first one out?"

“Oh you're awake?” Min said softly as she glanced over at her body and stepped in they way of Alaric's view of her body. She didn't want him to see her like that. Caressing an incorporeal hand against his forehead, a familiar tingling sensation crossed his forehead. “Yes. You pushed yourself too much Alaric. You're in the medical bay of Terminal 9. Just rest for now alright?” She said giving him a gentle smile, she was glad he was alright but he looked exhausted, he needed rest.

Al closed his eyes when his forehead began to tingle as her "touch".

"I was stupid. I pushed myself too hard this week trying to figure out my power. My bad."

He didn't lie back down, his enhanced recovery capability already at work on his rib he broke and the slight concussion Min gave him.

Al waved Min off, since she seemed determined and still able to go back. Plus, he didn't want her or anybody around while the massive weight settled on his chest and throat.

Min watched him stay up, listening to him, her brow furrowed as he waved her off. Mad she frowned as Alaric and let out a loud huff! “Don't wave me off! I was seriously worried about you! You could have died! You need to take better care of yourself! Stop trying to push yourself to the brink, Alaric!” Tears began to form in her astral eyes paired by the ones rolling down her body's cheeks.

“I was scared you jerk! You dumb mean jerk!” She said trying to wipe the tears away, but they wouldn't stop. “People break… And seeing just fall unconscious like that... I... I… I didn't like it!”

Alaric was not prepared for Min getting mad at him and lecturing his ear off. Certainly didn't help his headache any. And then she began to cry, which obviously made him feel so much better. He didn't know how to deal with crying girls. Alaric usually wasn't around for this part.

Rubbing his temples, he sighed. "Sorry Min."

He didn't really know what else to say, and instead looked out the window, running a hand through his hair.

Trying to calm herself her tears finally stopped flowing, and her voice was harsher than usual, holding sadness in every word. “Don’t just say sorry Alaric. It doesn’t help anyone. Just take care of yourself. I’ve seen too many people just collapse and never get back up. I don’t want you to be one of them.” Looking back at him one last time she let out a sigh and walked away, revealing her body.

Opening a portal, her body whimpered in pain as Min’s astral form stepped through.

"Oi, where do you think you're going, all- and she's gone." Alaric had tried to stop her. She was saying all that good stuff about not over-exerting himself, and the she goes and does the same shit.

Al was going to have words with her when she got back

While the other students heroically saved civilians, the ball wrecked it's havoc across Salem's city. Crowds running from the wrecking ball of destruction scattered only leading to more confusion for the heroes but somehow they made it. Rescuing each and every person with little to no injury. All while the teachers and the world watched on their screens.

The ball bounded through the street before stopping right in the middle of a four-way stop. The ball whirred and spun atop the area. Light began to peak out of the ball as pieces of metal began to expand revealing a silver core.

Suddenly the metal ball burst revealing 9 shining silver orbs each one floating above the center of each street. A high ring rang out from the silver orbs and they shot down into the ground crumbling the concrete as it buried itself inside. The ground shook and roared as broken arms and bodies began to rise up from the ground as nine concrete golems. The shining silver spheres clearly seen through the bulging concrete of the beast. It seems like clear video game logic, attack the silver orbs and the silver light will fade, returning the concrete back to piles of rubble.

Let your heroic skills shineFor this event you can write up your own heroic battle against these nine golems. Feel free to collaborate between one another to do deadly combos. Be as heroic or as lazy as you'd like, have fun with it! The most entertaining post wins a prize for a future mission/event. So be creative!

Wen was the first hero on the scene, taking only half a minute to catch up with the ball, the extra time it took for it to separate into nine light based orbs gave her enough leverage to catch up as the final pieces of concrete smashed together to make an intimidating physical manifestation. This is something she could work with.

She kicked off the ground 'lightly', her boots creaking under the pressure as she began to pick up her momentum, making a beeline towards the new assume-ably hostile creatures. She jumped into the air with her newfound momentum, coming down on one of the orb created creatures, smashing through some concrete with a single leg before she hit it's power source. The light faded, and Wen fell down as the cement lost it's source of sentience. She landed with grace, until her heels snapped under the weight.

She tripped on her own ankle, falling to the ground. "You've got to be fucking kidding me." She growled as the remaining hostiles roamed up to the lone hero in training. She made haste to remove her boots, as they would probably be much more trouble then they were worth.

She stood up with a wide grin on her face, one cement monster particularly close to her. She set off again, running only a few steps before leaping into the air with her now blistered feet as she prepared one mighty punch to the light projected orb. She had less issues with returning to the ground this time, hopping on a piece of falling cement while making her short descent before she leaped off after it was just a millimeter off the ground.

She cracked her knuckles, looking up to the other hostiles. 7 more to go.

Stepping out of her portal back into the chaos she made her way towards the growing abounds of conflict. Floating a few feet off the ground she easily passed through the gathering crowd. Absentmindedly passing though them and ignoring their shouts of surprised. Her mind was elsewhere, feeling hurt she let her body process the pain and quickly fuel it into anger. Mad at Alaric, she was ready to destroy that ball and then make him pay.

Shooting up and out from the crowd faster she floated above them and once she saw the opening up ahead she opened a portal in front of her and appeared out in the clearing. Landing she closed her portal and clenched her fists ready to fight.

Min looked around and noticed a nearby rock golem about to attack a civilian. Without thinking Min jumped through the golem and landed in between the civilian and the golem. Glaring at the golem with glowing red eyes she quickly moved her hand and a portal opened down the middle of the golem and snow poured out on the order end of the portal. The light from the core faded as the concrete and sphere dropped. Min closed the portal and the sphere fell to the ground in one piece. Min looked confused at how that happened there's nothing that should be able to escape her portal. However, she didn’t have time to investigate. Turning to the civilian guy, who was clutching his phone in fear, she smiled, “Hey it’s alright. But maybe stay back while we finish these things okay?” Min said waving him off as she ran back into the fray.

One down, six more to go.

"Oh, you've gotta be kidding me! Nine targets now?!" Naoto exclaimed, having suddenly morphed into their male form, seemingly by accident in the heat of the moment. "We're gonna have to take care of 'em fast, if just one of them was able to do this much to the city. Think, think...!" They exclaimed to themselves, eyes narrowed seriously.

"I don't suppose a love tap from me will be much different than the first time?" Haruo asked grimly, holding a guarded position where he stood as he gazed upon the golems.

"We can't take any chances," Naoto shook their head, wracking their brain for how to approach the enemy. Upon watching Wen make short work of one of them though, the shapeshifter tilted their head with interest. "Hm, looks like fun. Let me take a spin at that!"

With that, Naoto suddenly shifted again, taking Wen's form and inheriting her power as well, though not quite as potent. Still, it was plenty enough, or so they could only hope. Deciding to let loose with their temporary power, using Wen's borrowed strength, Naoto reached over to the nearest thing in sight, a parking meter, and easily ripped the heavy pole right out of the ground! Certainly a more practical weapon than an entire cumbersome streetlight.

While this happened, Haruo caught sight of a man in a business suit, admittedly somewhat feeble in stature, evidently trapped by his legs underneath some rubble and debris. Seeing no plausible way that he could help the rest of everyone else take care of the golems, the boy decided to make himself useful any other way he could. Running over to the man, Haruo got on his knees next to him and began helping him lift off the heavy debris off, gritting his teeth urgently. After a short while, the two of them were able to push the debris off, and from there, Haruo gingerly helped the man up. "Are you alright, sir?! Can you stand?"

"N-Nngh... I-I'll be fine. But don't worry about me, kid!" The man answered, "You better help out your friends with those rock monsters before they do much else!"

Beat.

With a resigned breath, Haruo began to carefully lead the man away from the chaotic scene. "Would if I could, but... let's just say my power's not really suited for them, as it turns out. Tried disabling the orb with a touch with my power and it just went apeshit instead."

"Wait... You're the reason it went even harder than it was before?!"

"H-Huh?"

"A-And if you can't even fight those things, what are you even doing here?! Couldn't they send out anyone else?!"

"Look, man, I'm doing the best I can! Why can't you just--?!"

"Look out!!"

"Whu--?!" Haruo gasped, before ducking to the ground with the man in tow by pure instinct. With a distinct whoosh that breezed past his hair, Haruo saw that he had just barely missed a hard swing from a golem that had approached him from behind. With both him and the man back on the ground, Haruo -- still atop the man as though shielding him -- could only clumsily inch away from the towering golem that prepared to make another swing. And then...

"Batter, batter, swing!" Naoto exclaimed using Wen's voice, still adopting her appearance as she held the parking meter over her shoulder and swung it like a baseball bat, a loud CRASH ringing through the air as it made perfect contact with the golem's orb like a bullseye, hitting with enough force to slam it through the wall of a nearby building.

With that, giving a relieved breath, Naoto wiped their brow, before looking down at Haruo with a more relaxed smile now, beginning to morph back into their male form as before. "Looks like I made it just in time!"

"Y-Yeah, good job..."

"Why thank you. I--OOF!" Naoto exclaimed; now that they were shifted back into their male form, Wen's borrowed strength gone, they suddenly nearly fell over, surprised by how heavy the parking meter truly was, barely able to maintain balance as they bent over. "Oh God, that can not be good for my spine!"

"What is going on...?!"

One down, five more to go.

Wen had to take a small breather, her feet bleeding out onto the cobble below her, small pebbles stuck into the first few layers of skin on the palms of her feet. It was just annoying. She wiped her feet off, getting her hands bloody when she heard her own voice.

She turned to it, to see a replica of her hitting one of the golems with a... Parking meter. How small and inadequate. The fact that word was even buried deep into her English subconscious was extraordinary, but it didn't matter right now. Time was running out and not even half of them were defeated. It was time for some pure barbaric work. If she could still stand she could still destroy the battlefield.

With a new plan, she grabbed a street lamp like it was a fucking baseball bat and whammed one of the golems. However, it wasn't as precise as her replica, just colliding with hardened and reinforced rock, destroying a lot of it. Not the orb though. Of fucking course.

With snarled teeth, when the golem tried to attack her, she jumped up into the air. Small drops of crimson flew onto the ruined street as she ran up it's arm like appendage, striking it with a right hook point blank on it's orb.

As it started to wither away, the rocks mass losing their consciousness and hostility, she used that height to get to another, this time making the orb evaporate with a solid kick. This one was a bit harder to get off of, even if she had a short refractory period for jumping and moving her legs, it seemed gravity had other plans.

She fell with the rubble, her feet falling firmly on the ground as a large boulder attempted to squish her tall form. She held it up with semi-ease, her arms starting to tire and her feet aching for relief. She held it for a few seconds, looking around at another golem and waiting for it to try to finish her off.

She could do this.

She chucked it at it's orb, not surprised when the surrounding rubble lost consciousness.

She breathed out heavily, her vision blurring. Blood was dripping down her head. Some rocks must've fallen on her.

"Come on, two more!"

Then she could go to bed. Or eat Ice-cream. Or play pranks on Min. It was worth it.

She blasted off again, her feet screaming at her, her own body collapsing under itself because she refused to stop. Refused to let anyone else have the glory. Her power was textbook, something common, something that could be beat easily. She'd show them that their stereotypes are so deadly wrong.

Wen put her entire body into this one, evaporating the orb with her entire body rather than a foot or kick. She didn't land properly, but gladly she rolled away from most of the falling rubble. She laid still on the ground.

Wen is out of the battle.

One more to go.

Mission Success!!As Wen destroyed the rest of the concrete golems Min and the others provided clean up, ensuring the crowd was safe. Min opened a portal to take the debris away from some of the crowd when a giant fist slammed down on her. Shocked the portal warped and broke and Min coughed up some blood. Luckily still in her astral form her body was unscathed. Glaring up at the last golem she reached out and placed her hand into the golems core and opened a portal inside it. She felt a surge of energy shootout through the porta. Energy so great that it shook and almost broke the portal. Breaking away from the sphere she looked at the collapsing rubble and the dimming orb. What is this stuff?

With the last rock golem breaking apart into rubble the five dull silver orbs fell to the ground with a heavy thud. The last crackle of energy shot out from one of the orbs before completely dying. The students Standing over the spheres were suddenly surrounded by cheers as a crowd of onlookers gathered and witnessed their victory. Cheering for the Highland Academy students, images and videos of their fight were uploaded all around the world. “The day saved by these young rising heroes” headlining across the globe. As the straggler students headed into the circle beside their peers the cheers grew only louder for these new heroes.

A voice pulsed out from each students school watch. “Alright heroes, lap it up. You kids did good but it's time to come back. Min we're ready for you.” Nodding Min extended her hand and opened a huge portal under the group’s feet. Everyone feel through and back into the teleporting bay of Terminal 9, where applause rang through the bay area. Many of the staff had gathered to praise these freshmen on a job well done. The voice on the intercom rang out. “Good job guys, don't worry about clean up we got it. You'll have to spend the next few days on campus until the weekend before you can head out. Don't try to sneak off, we'll know.” The voice paused letting his words sit in before continuing. “So rest up today and be ready for school tomorrow. Anyone heading to the medical bay please follow the red lights.”

After an absolutely agonizing week of being stuck on the school grounds, our favorite group of teens were finally free to explore the sights again. Just in time for the group to meet up at Heartland Amusement park!

Min finished getting ready and looked at herself in the mirror. Tilting her head left to right she leaned in and fixed her bangs a bit before leaning back and smiling. “Perfect!” Min said as she left the bathroom making her way past her shared dorm and out the door. She had texted everyone earlier that they would meet at the park entrance at around 10:30am. Looking at her watch it was five minutes till, but she wasn't worried, the plus side of being able to open a portal was that she was rarely ever late.

While making her way out of the freshman area Min noticed the upperclassmen who'd given her the prize for the event. “Ah! Hello again!” Min said happily as she made her way over to the upperclassmen.

“Hey there, heading off to Heartland?” They asked with a friendly smile.

“Yes! Thank you so much for providing me with all those extra tickets and giving me the idea to invite other people! I think it's going to be a lot of fun!” Min said clapping her hands together in excitement as she bounced a bit with excitement.

“Of course. Think nothing of it Ms. Johannas. I don't want to keep you though.” The upperclassmen said extending their hand up to Min.

“Oh right!” Min said a bit flustered. Shaking their hand she looked around and opened a portal. She waved to the upperclassmen, before stepping through. “Thank you again!”

As Min's portal closed the upperclassmen put a finger to their ear. “Yes sir, corporeal and on her way. We should have a full roster.”

“Excellent! Then we shall set the stage!”

“Yes sir.” The upperclassmen said.

<3Heartland Event: Arrival!<3Stepping out of the portal Min arrived at the front entrance of the amusement park. Looking around she turned to see everyone she invited already waiting for her, plus others. Ones she didn't invite, but seeing Claude she assumed that he was the one who invited them. She'd be a bit annoyed if she hadn't done the same thing. Great minds think alike I suppose. Oh God I sound like Father, she thought to herself.

Thinking how well this seemed to work out she made her way over to the others. “Hey everyone!” Stopping, her hair and skirt bounced, “10:30 on the dot! I'm glad everyone is here!” Looking over to Claude she smiled. “Don't worry about buying tickets I already have one for everyone. I was thinking about just giving them away to whoever was here but we now have the perfect amount!”

Claude turned, eyes falling on Min as she arrived with an outburst. “That’s fine, but I didn't know the prize was this many tickets. Where’d you get the extra ones?” he questioned, cocking an eyebrow.

Min beamed in excitement as she cocked her head and replied. "They gave the last survivor all the tickets for the whole water balloon team! It was quite lucky!" She said not even questioning why or for what purpose. Instead she was just too happy to be here with everyone!

Hopping overtime Izzy she hugged her galpal and beamed over to the others. “I'm so glad! To see the whole class here! Now let's have fun today!” Min said. Looking over to Izzy she started to talk with her. “Thank you for coming! I’ve never been to an amusement park before, so this will be exciting! I looked up this place and they have something called roller coasters! A haunted house! Live action shows! And something called the tunnel of love? What strange areas! I can't wait to do them all!”

_nAsJR75Ipzdi1Qs_A-HamTSyQLDN2yFZybrjIGc9-Z-_Yqw6MtUGVZjESSUAqI8v44RgDrg1bkXyy4dIcR29sUXgiC0UydfmV0Tg66IL651D09Xy_LDR09YsQeJB8p3lvGicRtL
Entering the Amusement park there were cast members dressed in formal attire with animal ears on their head. Stands for balloons and animal ears and apparel scattered the large cobblestone area as the morning light beamed down on them. As Josh walked out the gates into the park music chimed and confetti fell above him. A cast member with long reddish pink hair in a ponytail, one bandaged eye and long black rabbit ears came up to the group with a smile on his face.

“Congratulations! You are our 6000th guest! You and your friends have won our visitor appreciation prize. It includes a personal cast members guide.” He said resting a hand on his chest, insinuating that he was their personal guide. “Free fast passes, a live show experience and free dinner at one of our five star restaurants this evening. Congratulations again customer…” He paused to let Josh introduce himself. “Josh. It's a pleasure. You may call me B.R. I will be your personal guide today!” Turning to the others his smile never faded. “What lovely faces today! What are your names?”

Min excited from all the commotion took it upon herself to introduce everyone to B.R. The Man kept his smile, “wonderful! Well let's not dilly dally we have a full day of experiences and rides to explore here at Heartland!” B.R raised his hand and began to lead the group of teens into heartland. Claude trailed behind B.R. studying the sights and the man guiding him. “Why only the 600th guest? Isn’t this a national tourist attraction?” he asked to no one in particular, idly watching a crowded rollercoaster soar over the medieval style architecture.

Min meanwhile slid over to Josh and leaned against him to get his attention. “This is so cool! You're so lucky Josh! You've made this date even more fun!” She said with a smile as they followed the others.

A montage of fun laterCollapsing on a bench outside of a rather cute gift shop, the group of teens had done quite a lot in the past few hours. Haunted houses, snacks of all shapes and sizes, the tunnel of love, and as many rides as you could want! Now they just needed to take a breath and rest before heading out to do more.

Catching her breath Min got up and looked at the others. “I'll get us some drinks.” Looking over the group she noticed Wen and gave a reluctant internal sigh. I might as well. “Wen would you come with me? I think I understand this whole money thing but I still might need help carrying everything back and you're the strongest.”

However, Min and Wen wouldn't return, they had their own adventure to attend.

593576

Wen was tapping her foot against the ground intently, accidentally creating a large footprint in the patterned concrete. She was sitting on a bench outside of the park, waiting for the other students to stop their idle talk so they could actually go inside of the park.

That's when she was approached by the speedster as her other classmates entered the park, completely forgetting about her. She was sort of glad to have someone to walk in the park with. They had fun with the fast paced rides, but eventually parted ways when faced with separate interests. That was okay.

She met up with Claude to play some cheap ass carnival games with restrictions on power usage. It was dumb and fucking boring until Izzy showed up. Maybe today wasn't as horrible as she predicted. She had actually loathed coming here, but with a stylish and confident aura she trucked through it like any other social event. Everything was fine until most of the classmates finally met up again.

Min of all people asked Wen of all people to accompany her to go get something. Honestly, Wen was kind of spacing out, all the people's voices colliding together in her head in one big jumble.

"Huh? Yeah sure whatever." She was the strongest after all. That's the only few words she heard, the words she chose to hear because it stroked her all fragile ego. She got up reluctantly, walking with Min.

Frankly, Haruo felt a bit out of his element here.

If he had to be honest, he had never been to an amusement park before. The fun rides, the prizes, the candy, everything. He didn't quite know what to do with himself here. Not that he came here not wanting to have fun, at least. He did, and he was glad Min invited him. It was just all a bit overwhelming. It was almost a relief to have Naoto with him as a sort of amusement park guide (alongside B.R. at least), dragging him around as they tended to, like an overbearing older sibling who wanted to help their younger brother be more social. Yes, he really did see Naoto as an older sibling pretty much, even though he was pretty sure he was actually older than them. Wild.

1579209013359.pngAs Haruo sat down with the others, Naoto right next to him, the boy was tempted to join in when Min and Wen seemed to go off on their own adventure, but his crippling (not really) social anxiety (to put it a little over-dramatically) prevented him from sliding himself into that exchange. Honestly, other than Naoto, he didn't know the other guys all too well. Hell, if he had to be brutally honest, just being near Al spooked him a little these days. Nothing against Al himself, but that other speedster from before...

They seemed similar in Haruo's mind, in more than just their similar powers.

"Wishing you were with the girls, huh? I totally relate," Naoto -- in their male form -- suddenly chuckled, teasing Haruo to get him out of whatever pensive (to put it generously) thought he was sucked into, idly scratching their cheek with an index finger.

Well, there went that train of thought.

"S-Shut up," Haruo could only say, his pale face doing little to hide the blush that threatened to appear on his face. I-It's not like he cared that much or anything. Not at all.

Of course, the actual question in Naoto's mind was just exactly whom Haruo had on his mind. Oh, the beauty of youth, where anything could happen. If one took the opportunity dangling in front of them.

VIctoria's normal abilities had been put on file, but not exactly to what extent, it would seem at first glance she was more of a support role, despite the absorb amount of punishment the girl could take. Even after getting pummeled or losing a limb she would get back up almost like the living dead...expressionless and keep pushing. Despite these things having been noted down in her paper work or transcripts that came with the girl regarding her situation and what she had been through she seemed somewhat normal. A few breakdowns during some of her classes, which resulted in her being pulled aside and consoled while she cried or her being told to suck it up, depending on the class. It didn't take her long though for her to find out about The Literature Club, reading was quite a passion of hers, enjoying books focused on adventure and dungeons. The one she was currently reading was called "Morningwood: Everybody Loves Large Chests" The reversal of who the main character was really drew her in, especially considering the point of view the writer took. The lewd parts of the book made her blush profusely and the sheer way the writer put detail into each setting or battle was sheer beauty. She could hardly put it down, most of the time out of class or when she was eating she had the book in her hand, she had even fallen asleep coddling the book like a small child back in her room. When it was time for the Literature Club to meet up it was her favorite part of the day, she loved getting to tell the stories of the books she was reading, while leaving out the juiciest parts so as to not ruin the book for others. When Victoria talked about a book she seemed to become passionate and give off the appearance of someone extremely normal, cute even. Victoria had a true passion for books and truly did enjoy talking with the other students about their respective choices of reading material, even if it wasnt anytthing she was Particularly interested in at first.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Victoria stood behind a post of some sort, somewhat stalking the group, Min had invited her on the outing but wasn't quite sure how to exactly have the thing that the rest of them would call fun.
Her eyes locked onto Naoto and Haruo as if the two of them were prey or some sort of tasty treat. Her expression wasn't creepy, it was more like she was fantasizing about the two of them morethan anything. Although when it came to Victoria there's no clue what that entailed exactly, it could range from cute and innocent to deplorable acts torture.

In an attempt to be sociable Victoria made her way over to the two of them, her over sized black hoody engulfing her hands and part of her thigh. As usual however she was carrying a book, the only part of the visible title was Morningwood, anyone not in the club she was in would think she was some kind of pervert "H-Hello....Naoto...Harruo..." she said nervously, trying to stay calm, Victoria's cheeks a light shade of pink as she brushed some hair from her face. "It sure is a nice day....no storms or sharp objects I don't think we've ever really talked, I'm Victoria" Offering a sleeve covered hand to shake, with a poor third attempt at introducing herself ever. She wasn't exactly great at small talk but at the request of her psychiatrist and a counselor she was trying to branch out and make friends or at the very least regain somewhat of what used to be a normally sane child. However her voice was still soft and sweet, Victoria seemed innocent enough to the naked eye, as long as she was calm and someone didn't bring up or act like her father.

"Aah, Victoria, huh? I remember you, but yeah, I guess we haven't really talked before, huh? Hi hi~" Naoto said, their sweet, high-pitched voice almost ill-fitting on their current male form. With an almost sickeningly sweet smile, they clasped Victoria's hand in both of their own, enthusiastically shaking it.

"Hey..." Haruo said in a much lower voice in comparison, not quite as eager as his roommate was, but not unfriendly either, at least, giving a curt wave from his side. He gave a cursory glance toward Victoria as though examining her, and then her book. His brow visibly furrowed at the title, as though making the exact kind of judgment one would make of seeing a title like "Morningwood" on a book, but said nothing. After all, who wasn't a pervert these days?

... Naoto would probably slap him for that if he said that aloud.

Haruo himself wasn't the best at small talk either, and as though full well aware of that, Naoto practically took it upon themself to propel the conversation forward. "Min invited you here, huh? She's really nice, isn't she? Haruo certainly thinks so too!" They said with a slight chuckle.

"More pleasant to be around than you, at least," Haruo replied sharply, as though deflecting Naoto's attempt at teasing.

"Anyway!" Naoto went on, clasping their hands together in a feminine manner, "You want a snack or drink or something, Victoria? Pretty hot out here, right? Haruo's buying! He's totally loaded!"

"Who says you can't buy friendship?" Haruo grunted. He almost felt inclined to ask why Naoto was volunteering him, but they weren't exactly wrong. He did have a bit more money than one might assume he did, so spending was whatever to him, someone who had learned to be frugal anyway.

"It is a pleasure to finally talk with you both" Victoria shaking their hand in return. her grip was light and soft, she seemed almost nervous. relaxing once Naoto smiled at her.
Seeing Haruo looking at her book and the face he had made had caused her face to turn a bright shade of red.
"No it isnt what you think, it is an adventure book!" she exclaimed before uncovering the full title of the book and held it out to Haruo to take a look. "Its called, Morningwood: Everybody Loves Large chests.....its about a mimic and a succubus who...." Victoria dropped the book, covering her face and crouching down while crouching down to hide her embarrassment, her explanation of the book and the title hadn't exactly made her sound any less like a pervert. Victoria had practically curled up into a ball on the ground while balancing on the tips of her toes while staying upright. Unfortunately for Victoria her bunny covered undies could be just barely seen due to how she was sitting, her skirt had just slid up her thigh enough to expose them at the hip. Her legs however were tightly together, her skirt blocking view of anything else as it was folded between her legs.

With a few tears running down her cheeks she looked up at Haruo "I-I'm not some kind of pervert I promise....I just really like adventure books" rubbing her tears away with the sleeve of her hoody as she tried to stop them, but whenever she got nervous she would either blush or cry,her emotions were all sorts of messed up. still rubbing her eyes Victoria started nodding her head at Naoto's question "Yeah....shes in the Literature Club as well so we get to talk on occasion, shes always really nice to me, especially when I start crying like this....you dont have to get me a drink, I couldnt pay you back at all....Even if they have lemonade....it probably costs six or seven dollars and that is way too expensive" She had slightly ignored the bit about Haruo having a lot of money, smiling and giggling a little at their somewhat child like banter. It cheered her up a little knowing that she might even make more friends today, She was really glad that Min had invited her. putting a smile back on her face "Although who am I to turn down an offer from a new friend, I'll pay you back somehow for the drink, even if it is indentured slavery or just owing you one as they say" Victoria had forgotten about the book for the moment, the cover of it showed a a curvy blond sitting on a chest, she had a huge chest and was in skimpy blue robes that just barely covered her up. The background was a group of adventurers standing around what looked like some sort of obelisk.

"Look at that, you made her cry," Naoto simply said to Haruo.

"I didn't even say anything," Haruo replied, protesting his involvement in the travesty before him. Victoria's attempts to justify herself ironically only seemed to further discomfort Haruo to be frank, but maybe he should have been prepared for such an outcome.

Pursing his lips, opting to ignore all the rather suggestive imagery being flashed at him and Naoto at every corner, Haruo proceeded to let out a soft sigh, stiffly scratching the side of his head. "That's... uh, fine. You don't have to pay me back for it. We'll call it my good deed for the day. Like giving away to charity."

He did have to agree that concession stands at places like these always tended to be rather expensive, but hey, who was he to complain? He has money now.

As though not having any more debate over it, Haruo got up from the bench with that and sauntered over to the nearby concession stand, ordering one lemonade from the clerk. In just a matter of quick seconds, the teen eventually returned to the bench, a nice, ice-cold lemonade in hand now. "Here. I already bought it, so it'd be a waste now otherwise, right?" He said, having a sip of his own from the straw before holding it out to Victoria.

"He may seem like a grouch on the outside, but he's really a big softie!" Naoto said to Victoria, pocketing their hands as they continued sitting where they were.

"The more friends I make, the lower my power level becomes," Haruo blankly said, as though telling a dry joke.

Victoria dried her eyes as she took the pink lemonade from Haruo, sipping on it slowly while she tried think of what to say next. Taking the straw away from her lips "H-Haruo...thank you, you arent as bad as I had heard" the sleeves of her hood still over her hands, looking like some kind of ghost holding a cup.

Taking a few more sip before Naoto "Naoto, you dont seem like the kind of person to judge someone based on their looks, neither of you really do...I'm burning up in this thing but.." setting the cup onto of her head, balancing it perfectly as she lifted up the front of her goody, exposing her belly. The scars that visible now looked either clean or jagged, and nearly her entire belly was covered in them. "Do you think the others would....be afraid or hate me because..." letting the hood fall back over her belly, she looked between the two of them, beads of sweat forming on her neck and forehead. "I'm really self conscious about my body so..." gently and nervously picking her cup up once more before slowly sipping on it, waiting to see what the two of them thought "and before you ask...yes everywhere under my clothes is like that...even my hands" despite just becoming acquainted with the two of them she hoped that it wouldnt freak them out and then get shunned by the two of them.

"Who's been talking shit about me?" Haruo said gruffly with a furrowed brow at the implication that Victoria had heard things about him. Not that he was actually gonna do anything about it either way, but still.

As Victoria suddenly bared her scars to the two of them though, the train of this conversation definitely seemed to take a turn. Certainly not one that Haruo expected, the young man furrowing his brow while the other gave a pensive breath. "Oh jeez, this got heavy," they breathed softly, gingerly scratching the top of their head as though initially unequipped to handle this, before clearing their throat and gently clasping Victoria's hand in their own hands, looking seriously into her eyes.

"No one's gonna hate you, dear. We all have our baggage here, after all. 'Sides, Highland's exactly the kinda place to embrace the extraordinary! You're hardly out of place here or anything!" Naoto insisted passionately.

"You're good at this," Haruo commented on the other side.

"I try very hard," Naoto responded, before diverting their gaze back to Victoria. "Anyway, don't feel bad about who you are or what you've been through! I won't pretend to understand whatever happened in your past, but you should think of Highland as a fresh start in every sense of the phrase! Things will get better, but only if you believe it!"

"What they said," Haruo flatly said. Naoto definitely seemed more visibly affected by Victoria's gesture, but Haruo -- through the subtle differences in his body language between the furrowing of his brow and the pursing of his lips -- wasn't unaffected either. "Just uh, relax. Okay? No need to cry. Amusement parks like Heartland are supposed to be the happiest places in the world."

"Maybe leave this kind of talking to me."

"I tried."
