Caused by an explosion? What could have caused that as far as he was aware there was nothing explosive in that area other than machines and even then one does not just up and exploded? There may be so foul play involved no matter if nothing more this can work as a means to allow the combat units to get into a bit of a workout while the scouts get the numbers they need. But if it happens again then it could very well jeopardize the mission at hand, hopefully this was just a one-time thing to happen. The scouts would soon arrive at the mission point something Favian could tell from 19S's eyes alone, time to give out orders. Loading up a local map of the area the operator scanned for the best possible way to do this given everyone's abilities. "I'd like for you to scout the outside first then slowly make your way inside to get exact on numbers, keep a bit of a distance from any machines that you see if you can remember the sooner where detected the harder the mission will be for the others so keep your head low and don't do anything reckless."

Jayla was quick to follow 19S, putting distance between her and the ongoing fight. She followed 19S into the treeline as they made their way closer to the amusement mark. It was a lot more quieter since the machines in the area were attracted to the combat units now.

As she and 19S arrived at the amusement park, Jayla immediately noticed the groups of machines that seemed to be aimlessly roaming around the area. Whether the machines had detected the two scouts, she was unsure. Jayla looked back towards her pod and glanced up, silently issuing a command. Her pod began to rise up high into the sky as a small holographic screen appeared in front of Jayla. She moved it so it was between her and 19S, so that the other scout could take a look.

Displayed on the screen was a map of the area. Soon, many red dots began to appear on the map. Jayla's pod was doing a wide scan of the area, displaying the locations of machine lifeforms in the area. It wasn't looking good. There were machines all over the amusement park, occupying every part of it. There had to be at least 30 to 40 machines in the area.

Jayla quickly raised 9O over comms, speaking quietly yet still loud enough for him to hear.

"There are at least 30 machines in the amusement park, spread throughout the entire area. Sending you the map data."

She pressed a few buttons on the screen, sending a copy to 9O as she continued

"They seem docile enough we could get a closer look without alerting them. Standing by."

~ Outside the Amusement Park ~
Head in the Clouds || Eloise's CS File

    “Affirmative 9O”

She called to him the second the orders were relayed. Get in, get info, don’t get spotted. This is where scouts shined after all. She wasn’t some two bit hack that couldn’t stay hidden, she’d been on rotating duty since she first touched down to earth. She wasn’t the best scout, plenty had far more advantages built in, but that just made her work all the harder.

This was the price to pay for her life continuing.

She’d never make her parents feel like they made the wrong choice in accepting the devil's deal. So she wouldn’t fail, at least not from anything she couldn’t make it back from.

    “Aiba stay in cloaking mode.”

She nodded to her fellow scout as 1S started to read off the amount of machines in the area. The real question was not if they were docile enough but if they were small enough to handle should their programming suddenly rewire. She was sure her companion was plenty used to taking care of herself but she wasn’t used to fighting without some combat units at her side. The last time she fought was when she last paired up with unit 33C.

She’d rather not repeat the insanity that was that mission.

“Okay so 30-40? Heavy machinery units or are they stubbies… can you tell? I don’t usually have Aiba activate her Map Mode overlay, as a first scouter unit I rarely have missions that have any preconceived data.”

She scaled up a tree to try to get a better vantage point. Hmmm that was interesting... She jumped down the side and flicked her spinal support system helping her land peacefully.

"You know we can probably get a pretty good path in with the way the park is positioned. The problem is if there are any surprises... we may not be able to get a clear route out without at least one combat unit. I can scout ahead though if you're unused to infiltration missions.... wait I thought there was three of us scouts on this mission?"

Desire Land, Abandoned Amusement Park

For just how long the amusement park had been defunct, the state it was in was not terrible. It certainly didn't look shiny and new, but instead of a few centuries old it only looked to be aged at about a few decades. This was in large part thanks to the refurbishment the Machines had conducted. Aside from the worn appearance, the amusement park closely resembled those which were pictured in media documenting life pre-invasion. It was quite a far cry from the appearance of the Machine manufacturing plant that YoRHa units had recently raided.

Above large gates there was a big sign reading "Desire Land", with some of the letters flickering on and off. In front of the gates, there were two machines, each standing on either side and greeting the machines of various sizes making their way inside the park. From a distance, the park looked to be as busy as it would have been in its prime, the only difference being it was currently populated with Machines instead of humans.

Machines took all the roles that humans would have had in the past. They were behind stalls, handing out balloons, throwing confetti, and, of course, visiting the park as guests. Some Machines even wore hats and had their faces painted with clown make up and ran around to interact with others surrounding them.

Channary Viscousser~ Comabt Unit 26~ City Ruins

In the midst of battle, Channary came to a realization. "I was the one who introduced myself first," she murmured under her breath as she backed off from the wildly swinging stubbie. Its fighting technique was impeccable. Honestly, it was flawless. The way it swung its arms in a windmill fashion left no openings for a melee attack. She herself had adopted the attack in the past. The young combat unit had flashbacks from when she used the same technique as a child. She called it her "Ultimate Hammering Swinging Beatdown Cyclone Technique!" She recalled the days using her forbidden moves on her little brother, technically her twin, and absolutely destroying him. What was one even supposed to do when she swung these hands so fast in a circle that they became a blur? Nothing that's what. The "Ultimate Hammering Swinging Beatdown Cyclone Technique!" was the perfect mix of defense and offense from a melee point of view. The technique was so effective that as a child they called her "Family Friendly" because her hands were for everyone. That wasn't true, but she liked telling people who didn't know her that for fun.

The machine had one fatal flaw in its rendition of her childhood attack though. When she had spun her arms around in circles, her limbs were angled slightly in front of her to protect her front, and her shoulders physically stopped her from spinning them straight from her sides. The machine's arms spun parallel to its torso, leaving it undefended! Twisting her body to the side, she slipped between the windmill arms and kicked the little robot in the head to knock it over. She didn't stop there as she continued striking the robot to capitalize on any lost balance.

Dante Fortunato~ Harvest Unit 13~ Amusement Park

Dante was hungry for something more savory than fruit. It had been a few days since his colony was attacked by robots, and he fled into the nearby forests for safety. Eventually, once an adequate amount of time had passed, he returned back to his designated colony to check what may have remained. There were no lingering survivors, and the communicators were destroyed. There was a mix of guilt, fear, and uncertainty as he scavenged what he could and made his way to the nearest colony. Or, at least, that was the plan, but he had no idea where he was going. Perhaps, he had too much reliance on navigation technology or having a partner to tell him where to go, but he found himself encountering more and more robots on his way to find a safe haven. Most were friendly. The others were surprisingly hostile; although he shouldn't really have expected anything else, his colony was attacked by machines.

It was by chance that he found the Amusement Park when he did. All the machine lifeforms seemed to be friendly enough, and they were entertaining enough to stave off his heavier feelings. It was those two reasons that he decided to stay at the Amusement Park for the time being. Plus, it was safer to be in a location with friendly machines than randomly stumbling until he met some not so friendly machines. In the meantime, he busied himself painting bright red circles on some of the clown machines to replicate a nose. The fact that they were pretending to be clowns but didn't have the nose bothered him. Hopefully, other units would find him soon.

Annalise Cortez && GM Post

22C was prepared for the machine that approached, though her eyes also fell on the others that followed along with it. She could certainly taking down one with ease, and although she had fought a group of the small robots before, one on one combat was more of her strong suit. Still, the blonde prepared to reengage with the enemies as they came closer before finding the one she had previously attacked sliced cleanly in half by 8C. After taking a moment to admire his work, he turned to her with a nod.

The woman was left unsure how to feel. There hadn't been any malice in his expression, yet the act of taking down a mark she had practically already defeated wasn't always considered the most respectful. She couldn't help but connect it to how she reported 8C for stepping away from the group to their operator. Instead of feeling any sort of animosity towards the black-haired man though, she felt guilty and embarrassed, hoping she hadn't just earned the ire of one of a more experienced comrade. Her theory of it being a petty show of some sort of revenge was strengthened in her mind when she saw him then step out of the way once again to allow Annalise to deal with the remaining machines.

Thankfully though, Channary had managed to take down one of them, the one who was attacking the scout who had caught the machines' attention in the first place. From the force of the kick, the little robot went flying back, and was left prone for the woman's following attacks. Yet another one of the hostiles was destroyed, leaving two more. While one continued attacking Annalise, the other then turned to Hisame, and hopped after him as he moved away from the scene. Once it had closed the distance between them, it also started wildly swinging its arms.

Annalise looked at the machine that was in front of her, jumping back as it too employed what seemed to be their only attack. After having watched the other woman, she too opted to carefully step between the double windmills and kick the bot back. Her movement was more hesitant though, so it didn't get thrown back as far as the one Channary confronted had. Annalise's kick had been enough to knock it back towards the other woman though.

"Finish it!" she called as it also laid prone. Sure, Hisame had practically stolen her kill, but perhaps Channary would have been more hesitant to attack someone else's mark.

"This was rather unexpected." When Favian had been told about the mission he expected machines wondering the park like some sort of guards or moving equipment around to be used. Not a bunch of robots walking around pretending to be humans of old was this some sort of front to make mankind think nothing is going on here, were they some sort of defects with the wrong coding, or where machines of all things mocking mankind for the luxuries it can no longer afford. If the footage from 19S's own eyes wasn't in front of him, he likely wouldn't believe it had happened. This would likely make for an interesting report later, having to explain machines walking around in clown and all. The map from 1S would appear on one of his screens a moment later showing him the layout of the land and the units on it. Nothing so far that would indicate a hidden factory by the looks of thing a closer look would be needed as requested. "1S 19S 77S go on in and see if you can get a closer look at everything see if there is anything of note, as for the concern on the combat units ill have them station nearby if the worse comes to rise." Speaking of which that unneeded battle should be over by now. "Combat Units I'd like a report of your current status is the battle finish if so I'd like for to reach the mission zone and await furth instructions."
