Fantasy FTK: Blue's House Curriculum (open)

Lupa created the spell circle in her palm and then began focussing on weaving vines around the outer circle and breaking waves around the inner. She desided to trust her gut and this felt right. She could almost feel the ocean breeze around her and she relaxed into it letting the magic flow like salt water, cool and refreshing but oddly not making her cold. As she focused she segeisterd in the back of her mind that Loki was moving from her shoulder down her left arm before stopping with his head resting on her wrist.
Lupa considered trying a spell to see of she could but desided agenst it as it was not in the instructions to do so. As she focused she thought she felt a wetness on her palm but it disaperd as soon as she felt it so she put it to her imagination.

Drevin was watching her. The circle she created in her palm was the only thing that really caught his interest. He studied the runes and focus lines she made.
“Wow, I’ve never seen such detail in a palm focus before. I’m seeing... a summon from the deep sea?” He was rubbing his chin while studying her hand. He held out his hand and started trying to copy her. He had most of the design out but his runes weren’t as finely detailed as hers.
“Ugh, the palms are so hard. How are you getting your runes that small?”
Truthfully she had no answer or trick, it was all about feeling with Lupa. Drevin was more focused on the tangible world, and thus couldn’t imagine as vividly.

Lupa Laughed at him "don't draw the runes, let the runes draw themselves." She said with a shrug. "Try relaxing and then letting the circle form itself before adding to it on instinct " she tried to explain to him. " the vines for me are a personal thing, I tend to duddle then often in everything" she said. She knew she wasnt helping but she was trying. She let the circle melt away befor letting it form again in her palm, the design was the same but it wasn't an exact copy of what she had before it was slightly different in the pattern of the vines and waves.

Drevin nodded and took a deep breath. He started forming the circle with his eyes looking down at the hand. The lines started to take shape, but then got tangled up, so he grunted in frustration and closed his palm.
The class was over anyway, so Drevin took his things and quickly exited the room, pulling down his hood and not looking at anyone. It seemed like it was going to work for a moment, but for whatever reason he was too frustrated to continue.
In his hurry to leave, he left the paper on his desk from their writing exercise. All that was written was “This isn’t a family, it’s an asylum”.

Lupa felt embarrassed at Drevens clear frustration, she blamed herself. She plaked her stuff quietly, using only her right hand as Loki was still coiled around her left arm. Once she finished she glanced around the classroom and noticed Dreven had left his paper. She went to pick it up and saw what is said. She took a deep breath and crumpled it up, fighting the feeling of pain that came from the words. She threw out the paper on her way out of the class and desided to fallow the crowd to see where to go next.

A dark haired, pale skinned girl walked in through the door, closing up an umbrella as she came in. "Good day" She said simply with a nod before going to the counter and took a form before going to sit down and started writing out all her information

The halls were crowded with blue hoods. They were all headed towards the center of Blue Hall, where the portal doors would take them to their next classes, much like a sorting chamber. When she entered this chamber, there were paintings on the walls of great rulers and wizards of yore.
In the corner of the chamber she'd see a group of tall older boys crowding Drevin, whose hood was down and she could see him looking stressed out.
"Where you off to in such a hurry huh" one of the boys said.
"Yeah bloodsucker, you don't bump into us without dealing with the consequences" another boy said.
"Screw you" Drevin replied. One of them punched him in the shoulder. The other two boys started hitting him, kicking him to the ground.

The filing room was practically empty. There was a janitor sweeping the floor, and the clerk was a little surprised to see another student enter.
"You're running a little late, but that's okay. Wizards arrive exactly when they intend to." Once the papers were filed, Ellevene was escorted from the filing room to the changing room where she was given a blue robe and her wizard trappings. Then, she was taken to the nurse's office to have a blood sample drawn.
"First sessions have ended. The students are gathered in the portal chamber right now taking a break. Why don't you head over there and make some new friends?" The clerk smiled brightly at Elle.

As soon as Lupa heard the commotion she sprinted all but tacking Draven as she grabbed him a shielded him with her body. Before spinning and pushing him behind her wo she was still shielding her as she addressed the attackers " First of all back up. Second of all are you stupid, if your going to start a fight or attack somone don't do it in the middle of a crowded room. Third of all grow up we are almost Adalts. And finaly, you are free to have your own opinion and alowd to hate us, but you are not allowed to act on it, that is considered a hate crime and will her you a lot of jail time" she said firmly and calmly like she was giving orders or somthing.

The first bully laughed at her. The second gave her a stern look. The third looked over his shoulder and then back to her.
“Well, if we have it our way, none of you suckheads will survive the year. Do us a favor and crawl back under whatever tomb you came from.” He said right in her face and then walked off with his boys.
Drevin groaned and was holding his abdomen. He took a couple hard huts that knocked the wind out of him.

“Bastards... they’re going to try getting me killed at some point. You’re better off not getting involved. You don’t have the fangs, so they might leave you alone.”

Lupa laughed, "what's done is done, and I doubt it anyways. I might not have fangs but I technically drink blood and it's only a mater of time before that cat escapes its bag" she looked him over. "You alright or should I pick out a dress for your funeral" she said as an attempt to joke. Secretly she hoped the bullets wold target her, not because she wanted to get picked on but because of that focused on her that wold likely ignore other members of her new family. Plus she was used to it, she had been outlasted her whole life for being different, it's what kids do. She fixed Dravins hood over him before puting an arm around him and saying "now, let's get to class." Before pausing and saying "I hope you know where that is because I have no idea"

A young dhampir with a long silver braid of hair twisting around behind him as he quickly approached Lupa.
“Hi, I’m Vynn Tolli. I saw the whole thing. You’re incredible for standing up to those guys. I... I’m going to tell a teacher they were picking on you guys.”
He had rosy cheeks and was pale everywhere else. His eyes were pink like a rodent’s paw.
“The portal doors aren’t open yet. I heard some adults arguing that the orientation party snacks didn’t arrive today!”

"Lupa Hearthorn" she greeted the Guy taking her arm of Dravins sholder to extend her hand so as to shake Vynn's "and I obviously can't stop you, but I'd rather you didn't. It won't change anything. Kid's will be kid's, there only after us because we're different, no amount of authority consequences or retribution will change that, best to ignore them and stick together." She surged and put her arm around Dravins shilder again incase the boys came back. "Anyways, like I said I'm Lupa, old lady fisrt year majoring in summoning and minoring in illusion. How about you?"

The professor looked upon Rose. She could see the child playing at her side.
"Rose, come forward and bring the child. How old is he?"
"S-Six. He's seven in July."
"And how old is his father?"
"A hundred and seventy in Elven. Fifty in Human years."
"Where is he?"
"Gone, off to the Feywild."
" Copy that. The boy will be under my careful watch during your blue hat training."
"Mommy, why can't I come with you?"
"It'll be dangerous sweetheart..."

While all this goes on, Robert was standing unphased besides the two of them. He was eating a bowl of soup he made from his school folder, heated water from the icicle, and discarded tentacles from the Deepwater spell.
"Man, his dad just up and left him. That's awful. If I ever find a deadbeat dad, I'll knock his ass out."
The captain pretended not to listen to them. She smiled at Robert, taking advantage this early in the game. He was talented and silent. He would be a deadly powerful mage when he gets older. If he survives, that is...
"Enough talking, move!" She marched Team 1 out into the field. The crow flew after his master into the door portal.

The meadow was full of beetles and snakes. A dirt road ahead led towards the forest passe.
"You have five hours to reach the top of Solaris Tower. Your proper training will begin then." Professor Shepherd spoke to them while standing in the door portal. She hadn't closed it yet.

Dingle let out a strangled squawk as if mimicking the nervousness coursing through Minerva, wings fluttering loudly as he landed on a nearby boulder and began pecking at a cenitpede. She glanced behind her to catch Captain's stern expression, looking away quickly when her professor gave her a rather pointed look. Seriously? So this is what squad captain meant. She inwardly groaned as she traced the path up ahead and pushing a strand of hair behind her ear looked back at the group.

"Let's head up then!"

She began to hike up the dirt path, a line of annoyed students in tow. Minerva was feeling somewhat winded after an hour of walking. She wouldn't describe herself as a very physically active person; her studies and goals had never required such a task. Yes, she was fit, though not as fit as she had hoped.

Robert huffed behind the girls and fell behind. Rose was marching Min’s speed and smiled.
“This is fun. I haven’t been hiking in a while. Thanks for picking me.” Rose smiled at Min.
“I hope my boy is okay. Shepherd doesn’t seem like the motherly type.”

Robert kept huffing. His shellfish lunch wasn’t sitting well with him. He wasn’t expecting exercise today.

The tower appeared in the distance, over a few hills and through the woods. This was going to take all day, it seemed.

Vynn was a little shorter than Lupa. He pointed his fingers together and looked down, feeling a bit like a tattletale. "Yeah. We need to stick together. I bet this is what Miss Doyle meant, but didn't want to say." The young man also thought Lupa was very pretty, and calling herself an old lady felt like a put-down that he didn't agree with. "W-well I'm fourteen and I don't have a major. There's so much out in the magic world that i couldn't decide. I uhm... I don't think you don't look like an old lady."

Drevin sighed. He felt so useless. Not only couldn't he cast spells, but this girl had to defend him against bullies. "I really wish we could get some payback on those assholes. They called me a suckhead. Unbelievable."

Vynn could feel his indignation. "Maybe my cousin Ellie could help? She's like the master of revenge."

Minerva shrugged. "Honestly, you two are the only people I sort of know," she glanced back down the hill, seeing their progress. "Captain said she's a Missus, right? I bet she has kids. I think your kid'll be fine," she swatted Dingle's beak from her face and the bird squawked, going to roost in a nearby tree. Besides the panting and strong sun, the wood was bright with life. Occasionally, there would a sound like that of the ringing of bells. Rushing water from small brooks babbled loudly nearybe and birds called out, some preening their feathers on nearby branches.

Rose smiled in appreciation, and turned back to see Robert stopped on the hill. He was carving something on the ground with a stick. "What's he doing now?" she asked.
Robert put both of his hands on the ground, and the circle flashed around him. He then started gliding upwards, jogging swiftly towards the ladies. He had an evil grin on his face, looking like he'd bowl over them at a quick tread. Instead, he leaped clear over them like a jackrabbit.
Rose awed in amazement, looking up. Robert went over the crest of the hill and landed in a prickly thorn bush. He came out completely unharmed.
"Forget five hours. I'm gonna get there in a few good leaps! Whose with me?" Robert chuckled.

"Help... hellllp!" A man cried out from the woods. A shirtless redhead with pointed ears came running out with claw marks on his body. A pack of wolves was following in hot pursuit. "You! Wizards, please help me!"

"Oh very well I shall give some blood although I prefer taking and another thing wizards are old men with long grey hair and even longer beards, blech" She said before taking her leave "Oh and another thing, I prefer the term witch for myself if you please" She said before going to the nurses office. She sat there calmly, not even flinching as the needle pierced her pale skin, she looked at the woman who was so chipper "Oh why thank you for that advice Ms. Clerk, I never thought of making friends here, gee What other sage advice will you give me, be careful of Werewolves? Wow" She rolls her eyes as she sucks up her own blood and leaves for the portal room, her heels clicking against the floor at an even pace before she arrived at the portal room

Minerva glanced between the red-headed man and Robert who was leaping away from the group, making his way quickly to the top. Was helping this man worth the time wasted? Minerva frowned, but was snapped out of her thoughts when the man screamed again. Oh, screw it. Captain was already mad at her. What did she have to lose? Catching sight of the wolf pack behind the man she glanced around her, trying to understand what spell could work. She drew some runes in the ground, grabbing a few leaves from the side of the road and tossing it onto the circle. Then, muttering the incantation, vines shot out from the circle, zigzagging across the trees and creating a web that blocked the wolves from the pack.

"This won't hold them for long. Come on! We better run!"

The staff couldn't wait to get rid of this bitchy rich girl. The portal chamber was full of students who already had first period together, and were already forming bonds on their own. She saw a group of sad looking vampire kids standing by the walls, including a familiar face she didn't want bothering her. That only made it more annoying when Vynn ran right over towards her.
"Hey cousin Ellie, you should come meet my new friends. Some older kids picked on them and threatened to kill them, even! Drevin over there got beat up, and now we're talking revenge! Please help em, cousin!"

Minerva glanced between the red-headed man and Robert who was leaping away from the group, making his way quickly to the top. Was helping this man worth the time wasted? With his speed, Robert got the peasant to safety on the dirt road. Rose grinned widely once she saw the vines get the wolves trapped in a bottleneck. She had a metal rod in her hand she used to quickly draw her own rune, which sparked a ball of fire to form in her hands. The heat energy was massive, and flew into the wolf pack, exploding with flaming wisps against the vines.
The charred and hairless dogs ran into the forest whimpering.
"Hah, take that!" Rose laughed.
The man was exhausted and hurt. He leaned against Robert for support. The effect of the mage's Expeditious Spell were waning. He cast a healing spell from his hand to make the man feel better, invigoration and closing of wounds being the energies he was channeling.
"Man, I'm glad you three were here to save me. I feel good enough to walk." The elf man rose. "The woods are very dangerous. Will you please escort me to my cottage? I've been lost for days."
Robert folded his arms. "Sorry, but we're in a hurry. Can you just tell me what landmarks you recognize?"
"Oh, uh... There's a big tower with a crescent moon on it. I hear wizards have special training sessions there. I live on the hill yonder."

Minerva frowned. "Can't we just a teleportation spell on him?" She glanced back at the group, "Hey! Does anyone know teleportation spells yet?"
The vines from her spell dropped to the ground, the fire that charred them turning them into small piles of ash. She gave Rose an appreciative nod, kicking some dirt over her runes so that they couldn't be used again.

Robert sighed. “I’m just about done. I was gonna spend it all hopping to the tower, but I got one more in me. I don’t mind walking.”

Rose shook her head. “All I know are evoke spells and some transmutation. I guess we have to guard him.” She said and followed the men.

“When I was your age I was all about fire and ice spells. My ex fiancé taught me how to change properties of matter.” Rose wore a hint of regret on her face when she mentioned her baby’s father.
“So, how about you, what’s your story?” Rose asked Minerva.

Lupa was about to stop Vynn form seeking revenge but he ran off. She turned to Damian instead. "In all seriousness, are you ok? Those kids where brutal, but then again most kids are? I promise you get used to the bullying, mostly " she added the last word under her breath but she was shure he hurd it. She took a deep breath and started her spine making herself taller and slightly more imposing for a moment before relaxing and turning her attention to Loki.

Oh no. She wasn't going to have this conversation already. She needed at least a couple friends and telling everyone about her rich background would ruin it. Minerva pretended not to hear the question, busying herself by pretending to count the number in the group. Dingle peered at Minerva, head cocked. Minerva waved a hand, catching the group's attention. "Alright, that was enough of a distraction. Let's keep heading up!"

Drevin didn't like how she was fussing over him. She was making him look weak.
"I'm fine. Just go look for someone who knows how to turn these door portals on."
He pulled out a length of scroll and started practicing his rune scripture. He drew in smaller and smaller print until it was near intelligible. Did he draw them correnctly? Only time will tell.

A professor with a golden phoenix feather in his headband entered the portal chamber.
"Oh dear, orientation day is just getting more off the rails. I guess I should take over."
He sauntered through the hall with a quarterstaff, tapping it on the floor in rhythmic beat. He had a youthful face, shaved clean with curly brown hair.
Tapping the back walls, the doors came to life with passways through the castle and each professor's name listed on it.
"Alright children, go do what needs getting done. I hope to see you all in impressive shape when midterms come! Its going to rock your socks off, so... Rise Phoenixes!"
A few students cheered, and some started clapping. It was more to make the room not feel awkward. First year students hardly feel the school spirit. Little did they know what was in store for them.

((So basically whenever you wanna go to a class it'll be on a post like this. I'll cross out ones that have advanced beyond entry.))
