Anthony only realized he had been speaking formally when Ula pointed it out. "It's instinct mi-" He stopped himself. "-Ula." He nodded when she asked him to watch out for bandits. "Of course." He replied.

Anthony could feel that the archers were looking at Karliah and Fydoria. However, one of the two had an obstacle between themselves and the archers. Him. Karliah was under his protection. He'd be damned if he'd let her get shot, let alone on her first mission! She probably looked forward to joining her local militia, so he wouldn't let her spirit be crushed. He stood at the ready, keeping his eyes on the archers. He saw one of the archers drew their bows. He looked where they were aiming, and assumed they were aiming at Ula. He moved his sword a bit outward towards her, and when he saw the flash of the arrow, he quickly swiped his sword in front of her. Thankfully, the arrow had hit the broad side of his sword, and bounced of harmlessly. This may be an incredible feat, but his father had trained him for this. "Anthony, a knight must-" Now isn't the time for flashbacks. The other archer drew their bow and fired, hitting his armor and also bouncing off. He glanced around a bit, and saw that a savage looking bandit was sneaking around the corner of the fortress's wall wielding an axe.

"Miss Ula, an axeman is to our right!" He said to her as he stopped walking. "Apply pressure to the archers so that I can focus more on him, please!" He spoke rather energetically for someone saying "please", but he didn't care or notice. The axeman charged at the group, and Anthony stood ready. The axeman swung, but Anthony batted his axe away, and thrust in retaliation while taking care not to expose Karliah and Ula to the archers. With one exchange, his nearly lifelong training was already showing itself.

Having been the first to charge at the old fortress, Revek was targeted by an archer, who immediately loosed an arrow in her direction. Despite their superior positioning, they were unable to hit the moving target. It buries itself in the dirt behind her.

As Revek broke off a chunk off the barricade to make it easier to jump over, she saw a sword-wielding fighter got cut down by Imrae as they -tried- to attack her. As Revek turned to look for other threats, she saw an axe fighter heading towards Anthony, who was on her left.
Anticipating their attack, the knight readied himself as they prepared to attack with an overhead swing, and just raised his shield before the bandit could change their mind.
CLANG!

Revek watched as the bandit's axe failed to get through the shield, with Anthony delivering a fierce counterattack. It was powerful, causing the axe fighter to take a few steps back in pain. Looked like they still had enough to retaliate...

Revek didn't hesitate to finish the job, dashing towards them and swinging her axe across the adversary's body, knocking them off their feet... permanently. Before she could do anything else, an arrow got stuck in her right shoulder, with Revek lurching forward in response. She looked up above her at the wall to see one of the local archers nocking another arrow. "Ugh, bastard!" Dodging their next shot, she immediately ran for some nearby stairs in pursuit of the cowards on the wall.

Ula brought her fingers up to her nose to scratch it, though, in reality, it had been to hide the smirk slipping its way onto her lips. She supposed it was quite nice, being called 'Miss' rather than just plain old Ula for once. Sounded rather teacher-y, she couldn't help but note. Now she wasn't so sure if she did like the sound of it.

Once the battle raged like a vicious tide, Ula had prepared herself, though, admittedly not enough, for an archer notched his bow, and soon an arrow sliced through the air right for her. Anthony's sword had caught and deflected it, moments before it could land in its target. She looked to Anthony, before she nodded with a thankful relief pouring in on her face. Last thing she needed was to be peppered with arrows.

Ula's gaze followed the direction Anthony had pointed out to her, and found the axeman practically charging towards them. Her chest suddenly swelled, the familiar feeling of adrenaline pumping through cold-blooded veins. Anthony redirected her attention to the archers, the ones who could truly do damage to any of them with a well-placed shot, and so she nodded, the pages already flickering through the air. "Got it," she replied, before she landed on a page. She inhaled deeply, letting her body relax and ready to be a conduit, before inciting the words. As she spoke, balancing the tome in one hand, her hand outstretched, the familiar crackling sounding around her.

Justice of the skies, I summon thee,
Cast down your judgement on the wrethed,
And let your disdain be known,

ELTHUNDER.

For such a magnificent incantation, one would think Ula was summoning the gods herself to reap judgement upon her enemies, though, it wasn't quite the case. A single bolt of lightning struck in a quick, blinding flash upon the archer's perch, and upon one archer, at least. The force and speed of it should have been enough to cause some disorientation amongst the other archers for a few moments, enough time to throw another lightning strike down upon the perch and keep pressure on them.

The Archers cursed as their axeman was struck down by the combined hammer and anvil of the Armoured knight and the white haired Axe-woman. They hastily readied their shots to strike down the unarmoured woman but as the first successfully knocked his bow the sound of arcane lightning ruptured across the battle, and Ula’s Elthunder pierced him launching him off of the tower.
Luck was on Imraes side, engaged with multiple combatants as she was, she was unsuspecting of the immense Elfire homing in on her. Were it not for the body of the falling archer intercepting it in it’s path she doubtless would have been struck down.

The bandit mage Mccoy cursed at his missed shot, wondering where his allies were. As he hastily began casting a second Elfire, unsure whether to aim for the Sword wielder-surrounded already, the axewoman rushing towards their sniper posts, or the Armoured knight that he could now see. Steeling himself his arcane chant finished and the fire hurtled over the frontline fighters and impacted hard on Anthony’s shield.

But Mccoy hadn’t noticed the delicate healer, obscured from view by the bulky knight.

“Oh Havoc, hear my call and heal my ally’s wounds,” she said as her staff glowed, healing Anthony’s wounds.

“Don’t worry Anthony, Ula. If you get hit I’ll heal you! We should move up, Anthony, Imrae looks like she needs some help” she urged them.

Reveks ascent to the sniper post was unimpeded and she quickly stepped out atop the wall; the remaining sniper only a short dash from meeting his end by her blade. The archer cursed them and redirected his shot to Revek, letting loose the arrow shot towards her. He hastily reloaded and shot again, trying to keep the axewoman at bay.
However, before Revek could move a shrieking cry echoed from above her. A huge black and white Bird shot forward, a Magpie laguz; its razor beak like an oversized arrow. The laguz flew past Revek, its beak only narrowly missing her, the backwind from her pass almost sending the axewoman down to the hard ground.

Among the fighters engaged beneath the wall, a few of them let out a cry as their commander Zedel made herself known. She soared out over Anthony, Ula, Karliah and Fydoria, with only a flick of her wings, a sign of her incredible aerial ability, she made a quick U-turn, zooming back towards Revek.

------------------

In the back of the castle, the two bandits faced off against Joy and Tali, the silence broken only by the heavy breaths of the cat laguz as she prepared herself to pounce. As the tension in the air grew, the mace wielder charged.
He reacted faster than Joy expected, the heavy metal club narrowly missing the thief.

“Quick bugger aren’t ya?” he snarled.

Tali howled (the noise cougars make, I don’t know what to call it) and pounced at the Mace wielder, her claws slashing into his arm. He recoiled back from the impact of the heavy feline. Joy took the chance to fling his knife at the dagger wielder, the blade struck him in the side. Joy darted to the right as he threw, moving behind a table. The thief cried in pain before charging for Joy, his wild swing missing widely.

Joy grinned, twirling his second blade and through it sharply underarm taking the thief in the chest and toppling him. Joy turned, drawing two more knives. As Tali pounced again at the bearded man, he blocked the claws with his mace, before returning with a heavy thrust forward catching the Cat on the side. She let out a cry and darted backwards to gain distance between the two. Joy sent his next two knives at the man, he deflected them both with his mace.

Joy clicked his tongue in annoyance before throwing again –*clink* - deflected. Distracted by the knives Tali lunged again, springing off the table beside him, her claws slashed the bearded man hard across his face. He recoiled with a cry, then a sharp whistle cut through the air as Joys next two knives struck him in the arm and the neck. The bearded man finally fell, and Joy and Tali relaxed.

“Who do you think they were talking about? They mentioned a girl they should grab.” Joy wondered allowed.

Tali gave him the best shrug she could in her current form, “We should go and help the others,” she affirmed.

Joy nodded and the two passed through the opposite door from the one they first entered through. Emerging into an open hallway the sounds of fighting were much clearer now, the bright light ahead of them the exit to the courtyard. Quietly the two made their way out, they could now make out several figures; Joy thought he recognised the white in Reveks hair up atop the fort wall. His eyes narrowed on a thin figure draped in red, standing away from the battlefield. As he raised his knife in preparation Tali hissed a soft, “Wait”.

Turning Joy looked curiously at her, Tali sniffed the air and began walking in the opposite direction from the battle. Joy gave a concerned look back towards the battle but followed. Tali made her way to a stone stairway and climbed it, body low to the ground still.

They reached the top and Joy saw a pile of boxes, some overflowing with foodstuff and others with various valuables. In front of them was a wide bench, and behind that, he recognised the corner of a cage. Joy and Tali walked up to it and peered inside. Seated inside of it was a woman, red-haired and the strangest feature; horns, unlike any Joy had seen on another laguz, protruding from her temples.

“Who are you?”

Imrae fought on as well as multiple bandits came at her. She held her own well, moving between them with sides steps and turns between them insuring that she was never where their blades and axes struck either being as a step behind, ahead or even underneath them. Countering with quick slashes of her blades to make them pay for even trying to cut her. All the while she will loudly and continuity prayer to her war got never stopping for anything.

Not that everything went her way, her missing the mage about to bring down elfire was just one of her near misses. Though she tried to keep an eye on them she could not always track the archers about her and more than an arrow came close to end her, one indeed struck her left arm making her drop one of her sword as groaned in pain. Still she tried to grit her teeth and fight on as two swordsman came at her, see slashed at them with her blade to keep them back as she tried to firm up her footing and see pass the pain. One of the swordsman tried to capitalize on her weakness going for a stab but a sweep of her blade knocked his aside and she countered with a sharp kick to knock him back at a cost of her balance.

It seemed though it was for little though as another bandit joined the two armed with an axe. She cursed as she tried to continue to pray and growl menacingly at them. Her expression almost daring them to try again though she knew her luck was running out.

Anthony watched as the axeman stumbled back from his counter-thrust. Taking their stumble as an opportunity, he glanced at the archers to see if they were aiming at either of the girls in his protection. They were aiming... to the right of them? He looked back at the axeman in time to see their own axeman cut them down without so much as a second thought. "Revek!" He called, just as an archer lodged an arrow into her shoulder. "Hide behind me for a second so-" His advice was apparently discarded as Revek angrily charged at the archers. "Damnit." He looked back at the archers and saw that their focus was split between Revek and his party. "Miss Ula, please take care of the archer that's-" He was going to say the one focused on Revek since she had no form of protection from them, but Ula had already gone for the one targeting them instead, and had smote them with lightning. Shaking off the terror and amazement that was filling his mind, he managed to cleanly utter "Nice work!" without any voice cracking or stuttering. With the archers dead or distracted, Anthony seemed that now would be as good a time as ever to prepare a change in position. He decided to watch for a little bit before, slowly inching forward as he watched the battle. He noticed a blaze of fire coming right at him, and raised his shield in front of him.

Hot... Hot... Hot! Anthony felt as if he was suddenly being cooked in his armor. Any lesser knight would begin stripping their armor off completely, but thankfully, Anthony had trained for this too. His father knew that magic would be a large problem for the upcoming armored knight, and had prepared him as much as he could for this. While he couldn't directly train him to actually be more resistant to magic, he could sure as hell train him to be able to endure it. He had a lot of time in saunas while fully armored to train him for this kind of thing. While he felt like a rotisserie chicken, he could endure this feeling. He felt the burning sensation in his shield arm and the rest of his body vanish, and energy surged through him. He heard Karliah talk, and smiled from beneath his helmet. "Thank you." He said, as he took her advice. He had watched for long enough, it was time to approach. The only problem he could see would be the gate, since it was the most disadvantageous position his party could be in. Anthony would only be able to protect them from one side, and the other two wouldn't be able to see oncoming threats from behind. They'd have to get through it quickly. "We'll charge in once we're under the gate, since that's the last position I want us in for too long." Before they could get too close, he heard some beastly shriek, and saw a bird barely fail to kebab Revek on, well, itself. "Change of plans! We'll hold the gate until we can take the yard. The gate will protect us from that bird!" He said, charging into the gate while making sure the girls were following him.

"Head into the courtyard, Revek! We'll be untouchable with three close combatants!" He ordered. He turned his attention back to the gate in time to see Imrae about to get overwhelmed. The sound of his armor moving against itself drew some of their attention. "Imrae, get behind me so Karliah can tend to you!" He ordered her, too. Not only did he not have the authority to be ordering Revek and Imrae around, but they were also the last two people that would listen to sudden orders. He just had to hope that they'd listen to him. One of the soldiers, not a very bright one considering they were ignoring the unarmored Imrae in favor of attacking a wall of steel, tried to drive his spear into the open space in Anthony's helmet. He simply cocked his head and raised his shoulder to avoid the thrust and move it higher, and countered with a heavy slash to the man's arm. He probably could've done this in a better way, but avoiding it like this protected himself and everyone else. Redirecting the thrust could end up with it being redirected to Ula, or god forbid Karliah. With their height difference, his boots giving him a boost, and his shoulder raising it even higher, the spear wouldn't hit either of them. This way, his shield arm was ready for any follow-up attacks coming his way too.

An arrow zipped by. Revek smirked; archers don't do well in close range, after all. As she prepared to swing at the archer, something knocked her off balance.
What? What's happening?!

The near-miss of the unknown attacker caused her to stumble and drop onto one knee. Briefly forgetting about the archer, she turned her neck around to see what just went past her; a giant bird laguz?! She kept her gaze trained on it as it turned back around, coming for her.

The archer that still existed wasn't distracted as long as Revek, though, and they prepared to shoot her with a quick arrow. The pulling of the bowstring alerted Revek to the nearest threat, and she directed her attention back at the archer. She could hear Anthony a bit, but her heart was standing to beat a little louder, making her concentrate less on his voice and more on the enemy in front of her.

They're going to shoot. I don't have time for an axe swing!
Without thinking, Revek leapt forward and tackled the archer before they could loose another arrow, sending the two off the wall. Though at least the archer would take the brunt of the fall.

After hearing the details of her first real mission they echoed in the back of her head over and over. -If the archers were eliminated she would need to fly to the gatehouse and open it. She thought about how many people she may have to fight on her own. An odd feeling rose in her stomach. She felt so uncertain but why? She had sparred against multiple people at once and she's even been in small battles. Where did this fear spring from? She believed in her comrades Imrae and Revek were both strong and what she believed overly capable in a strength contest. It couldn't have been this.... maybe it was the archers she definitely never had to fight in the presence of archers at least ones not entirely focused on one target. Ula would have her back and take care of clearing out her weakness. She knew this though the worst thought had crawled its way to her mind. "What if she had to fly in the fire? What if she lost control? Could she handle herself for this fight.... no she needed to handle herself for this fight.

walking away from the meeting her thoughts were slowed by the call of her partner. Giving her a mild confidence boost she tried her best to dismiss the thoughts running through her mind. she layed down outside her tent with Alexis and brushed her until she fell asleep. Alexis watched over her partner pulling her supplies to her rider before laying down and covering her with a wing hoping to ease the mind of her rider.

The morning passed and the group began to make their advance towards the enemy encampment. calming herself and zoning in on the task at hand she noticed the excitement and vigor in her companions. Their excitement was infectious and made Fydoria know that she was well watched over and she need be ready to do the same.

Having dropped off Anthonys armor she gave a warm smile to the group and gave Ula a thumbs up! "i'm counting on you to get me on top of that gate!" Alexis draws her wings in close to her side and bow towards Ula before they take off with Revek and Imrae. Once ready to begin to approach the ecstatic Revek told of a tradition tactic to intimidate the enemy. Fydoria was a little nervous but, thought she might be able to do the trick however her slender frame would probably keep them from being intimidated. "I wonder should I make a face or what would alexis have to do?" she thought as her team member recklessly charged into the fry with a frightful scream and quick movements. Excellent thing shes not the enemy Fydoria was taken aback and shes not even being charged at. "Yes of course! Barath Na Kuma Ri HA!" Letting loose all the stored up energy Fydoria exclaimed after Imrae's invitation and charged into battle.

Alexis Stomped her hooves into the ground to give her rider a speed boost as Fydoria flew from on top her partner into combat. she began to fight a swordsman with her sturdy form and quick movements she was able to keep up parrying and using her extended rage to keep the brigand away. However he wasnt going to give up the fight so quickly. Catching her lance in one blow and throwing her weight away he managed to get a swipe at her feet. the rush of battle coming to her her eyes sharped and she staggered back before jumping to impale the open brigand thinking he had the advantage. "Let's do this!" she looked at her comrades battling about and was severely amazed at Reveks style but, no sooner than she saw this another two brigands came towards her an axeman and another swordsman. She stoodfast and kept her distance getting few swipes on the swordsman but as soon as the axeman began to charge she had to pull and all defensive only for a few moments though as Alexis charged down on top of the axeman to alleviate pressure and retrieve her rider. "keep low Alexis we have to stay low and be weary of the archers shots" staying 5 feet off the ground Fydoria began her assault on the enemies surrounding her comrades.

The assault from the archers was lowering her comrades made openings it was time for the duo to make the most of their flight
"ELTHUNDER" noticing the gaps left from the attack Ula was firing at the archer created a opening for her to abuse. On the Kitsune's signal Alexis charged towards the aftermath of the electric bolts barely missing a fiery explosion blocked by the falling archer. The Pegasus shook off any residing flames catching her and soared over the battle field to engage more enemies on the ground before making a strategy to approach the new mage target. Her warrior spirt started to flare and her vision caught a group of enemies at the gate begining to engage her comrades. "Lexi get ready! HIYAHH! Close and dive! HIYAHHH! Lexi lets glide!" She gave out commands quickly as they flew to restore their position. She sliced away at a few grounded soldiers and approaching riders and Alexis maneuvered from attacks avoiding damage while giving her rider the most optimal strike position. training pays off but, not as much as real combat. Fydoria had been hit a few times across her arms but, she took that in stride acknowledging her pegasus had not taken any hits. "Better me than you girl! Lets see if we can do better this time." The duo waited and repeated the same tactic a few times before the sounds of the enemy cheering and a Laguz flying over their heads.

After Seeing the Laguz she knew she help Revek but she for now holding her own and didnt look to much in discomfort however, Imrae looked to need all the help she could get. Fydoria flew towards her companion grounding herself after a few swins to clear space she began throwing out wide sweeps to get her opponents to stagger. Once she gained some bretahing room she whistled harshly. " Sorry Imrae we should have focused our attacks to help you. I'm still grounding myself in this fight." a few seconds after the whislte Alexis came crashing down to knock some of the bandits away and help the spacing. Fydoria focused her attention on any brigands swinging towards her partner and attacked them with swift stabs knocking those first few foolish attacks to the ground. The other caught on and became a bit weary when the pegasus landed however Fydoria whistled in a different pitch. On this charge the bandits backed up and charged to attack Fydoria. She sprang herself grabbing one of her foot handles and hoisted herself onto her partner once again to support her friend from above.
