He barely got any sleep, maybe he was an insomniac but just forgot due to the whole memory fog thing. Perhaps it was because of the countless thoughts running in his mind all night. Whatever the case, he felt horrible waking up. Maybe a quick shower will do the trick... Groaning, he willed himself to go and freshen up for the day. Surprisingly, it was a nice bathroom. At least his captors were nice enough to give them more-than-okay basic utilities.

By the time Monotora had made his announcement, Yuka was already out and was just lounging about on his bed. Tapping on his PDA, checking the nifty little things it offered the students. He yawned, and when something about food came up on the intercom, his stomach grumbled as if on cue.

Haha okay, okay, let's head over there. He unlocked his door and went out, closing it again when he stepped outside of his room. He looked sideways to see if anyone was there. No one. The coast was clear. He wandered around again. Until he remembered that his PDA had a helpful map feature, so he opened it up and made good use of it.

As he was following the directions to the kitchen, halfway through, he heard an ear-piercing scream. It echoed throughout the first floor. Concerned, Yuka picked up the pace and opened the door leading to the room.

A group of people was the first thing he saw. Some he didn't notice yesterday. As he moved forward, he saw everyone's eyes plastered on something...no someone. He shifted his attention to it and...

    160594283275544054.jpeg

    "...is that...that dog-costume guy? ....h-how...why..."

He took a deep breath and exhaled slowly. Yuka gave everyone a dirty look, one that didn't suit him at all. "I'm sure you people right here, right now, in particular might not have done this but..." He wanted to hold back, but his disappointment and bitterness prevailed, "You guys made me a fool! Tch." Then he looked down on the ground. Pools of blood covering the area he was close at. "But I admit, I put too much hope in that some of you wouldn't do it." He didn't bother covering up this change of attitude and instead went over to Dozzco. "Hi, Dozzco-san. Or just Dozzco if you just prefer that instead."

Noticing her ever-immersed note-taking state, he cleared his throat to make sure his presence was acknowledged. Hopefully she'd know he was standing right in front of her. "I understand investigating and note-taking is important, but maybe we should sit down and eat. It's not like the body is going to go stand up and leave the room," he laughed in a neutral tone, not having the usual peppiness to it. While he aimed that directly to Dozzco, he was, in reality, talking to everyone present in the room.

He had to say something like that, or else people would just stare at the mangled corpse, as if they were in a trance. Someone had to put them back to their senses, and while he wasn't as cheerful as he was yesterday, he hoped his suggestion to eat would break them out of the spell of confusion and despair.

As of right now, he's hopeful that everyone will not succumb to the option of killing.

He trusts Dozzco a bit. He believes she is a knowledgeable acquaintance.

He is comfortable enough to be around Haruki and Ryuji.

He is on neutral terms with Mikia and Kiera.

He thinks Baltorr is a bit goofy, but is not (tries to not be) patronizing towards him.

He doesn't know Momo enough currently to form opinions about her.

The PDAs hissed to life as a Monotora file appeared on each of their screens. Each one depicted the killed student's name, age, weight, time of death (12:45am), cause of death (fire and blunt force trauma).

Kiera Kross ~ Ultimate Technician
Soon Mikia and Ryuji and joined up with them too and all them were heading to get some food. Rjuji’s mention of her speech yesterday made her smile, it was nice to know she had gotten through to someone. “Exactly, let’s keep working together.” Kiera smiled, directly at Ryuji. The blonde then frowned slightly at Dozzco’s comment. “As good as all the supplies are it makes me a bit nervous, like they expect us to get injured a lot.” Kiera explained. Though before they could all continue their conversation an ear shattering scream rang out around them.

Dozzco was quick to run off in the direction of the scream and Kiera followed quickly behind. She turned her head back as she ran and called back to Mikia and Ryuji. “Come on!” As they neared the source of the scream a nauseating smell filled Kiera’s nostrils. It smelt like something was burnt but not like food. This smell was so much worse. Dozzco threw the doors open to the kitchen and Kiera stopped besides her. The kitchen was a mess. Pots and pans had been thrown around everywhere. With specks of blood dotted around, gradually getting larger as Kiera’s eyes followed the path of destruction. That’s when she saw it, the masked girl from yesterday kneeling in front of the charred remains of a body. It was unrecognisable, it could’ve been anyone. Then Kiera noticed the charred dog head. That weird kid from yesterday, she thought.

Kiera’s face quickly drained of colour and she felt herself go weak at the knees. She placed a hand on Ryuji’s shoulder to steady herself before moving back once she had found her feet again. “Sorry.” The blonde mumbled, trying to hold it together. It seemed like Mikia wasn’t doing great either, as she seemed to stumble to a seat. Another one of the students from yesterday then arrived who seemed just as distraught as them.

A click from the intercom indicated some sort of announcement as they roared to life. “A body has been discovered! After a set amount of time, the class trial will begin!” The speakers played around them. The ones who weren’t here would probably be scared and confused by that announcement. Kiera then felt her PDA vibrate and she pulled it up in front of her. “Monotora file?” She questioned aloud, tapping on the file. “Name, Jason Darkson. Age, 18. Height, 5’7”. Time of death… 12:45am. Cause of death… fire and blunt force trauma.” Kiera read so the others could hear her.

The blonde was suddenly reminded of the rules she had read last night. Someone was trying to leave the ship by killing one of them, leaving them all behind to die. Kiera gritted her teeth. How could someone be so selfish? She wondered. There was no point in wondering, instead she had to find out what happened. Otherwise they would all die here.
“W…we have to find out what happened right?” She asked to no one in particular. Kiera started making her way towards the body to get a closer look, but the smell soon got too much. She put a hand over her mouth and ran to a nearby trash can. Kiera heaved up into the trash can, trying to keep her hair out of the way. It was mainly bile, from not eating anything in ages. She really needed to eat something, just like the other one in the room had suggested. "Sorry." Kiera apologised, feeling stupid. What did she think would happen when got close to body, the smell would magically get better? The blonde then grabbed an apple from a nearby table, first making sure there was no ash or blood on it before taking a bite. It wasn’t much but she was pretty sure that would be all she could stomach for now. Kiera made sure to keep the body out of her eyesight whilst she ate.

Haruki Koibito

Haruki had woken up a few minutes before the morning announcement, barely getting any sleep. A bucket laid next to her bed, full of old vomit that she was hurling up throughout the night. As soon as she stood up, she felt the need to puke again. However, with nothing in her stomach it simply came up as disgusting bile. It was better than eating and throwing up everything before she had a chance to digest it. Vomit and bile covered the bottom of her face and some of her clothes, so she decided she needed a shower.

While she was undressing, the morning announcement rang. She shook her head dismissively before taking a subjectively long shower. She stepped out, mostly clean. She was looking in the mirror, examining herself and the bags under her eyes when she heard the body discovery announcement. She saw her own expression change from relaxed to disbelief, and then mortified. It made her want to stay in her safe locked room even more, hell, the bathroom even.

She slumped onto the bathroom floor, a towel wrapped around her as her wet hair drooped in her face. She couldn't believe this. This was actually happening, and all she had done was fucking vomit and be afraid this entire time. Who was it? Who was gone? Removed before anyone even knew their name properly, taken from the green earth before anyone knew their hobbies or likes? She couldn't imagine it being her. She refused to die while just being known as the green-headed girl.

She heard the chime of her PDA from the bathroom, and decided to get up and get dressed before looking at it. She didn't even recognize the name or the data in the information file. Hell, she only really knew the names of like three of her classmates. She looked warily at her door. She could do this. Her talent made her notice every little detail, something they would need to recognize a killer. She could do this.

She took a deep breathe before walking out of her room.
____________________________________________________________________

Wait? Where was the body? She had to walk a few minutes before correctly going into the kitchen, where some of the students were already gathered. She held her nose as soon as she walked in.

Her hair was still harshly damp, towel dried quickly in order to get there faster. "Um--who is it?" Was the first thing she asked. "Sorry, I didn't recognize the name on the PDA." She knew she'd have to get used to the smell, so as she spoke, she uncovered her nose.

Upon the floor beside the body was an odd strip of cloth. It, however, didn't seem like the same material as the dog head. There wasn't much evidence of fire damage on the one half of the kitchen. There was a sprinkler system above but for some reason the area was not wet.

ℌ𝔞𝔱𝔰𝔲𝔪𝔬𝔪𝔬 𝔒𝔤𝔞𝔴𝔞

Everybody has come streaming into the room as soon as Momo had screamed. They hadn’t been able to recognize the body either, at first. But when they did, the announcement from Monotora came over the loudspeakers, and all of a sudden everyone was focused on figuring out what happened.

Momo knew that the boy hadn’t said a word to anybody before. She knew that he hadn’t even been awake for most of yesterday. But she still couldn’t let it go. Why did nobody care? Sure, they all cared about solving the case, about the clues and the causes and the numbers and the facts, but why did no one care that a person had died? He had been a person, with a personality and a life and a family, regardless of whether anyone knew him or not. He had existed... And no one cared... Not even, she realized with some guilt, Momo herself.

Then she realized that no one had time to care. It was time to stop caring, stop crying, and figure out what happened. Because if she didn’t, she’d die out here in the middle of the ocean, surrounded by strangers and Dozzco. And then no one would ever care about her.

Shd got up from her knees, wincing a bit as she’d scraped them on the way down, her own blood on them mixed with specks of the boy’s. As she got up, she noticed a strip of strange fabric on the ground near the body. She picked it up, examining it closely, seeing that it’d been singed along the edges.

To test her theory, she gingerly lifted it up to her nose and smelled it through the air holes of her mask; “Is this... oil? Cooking oil?” She asked, holding it out for the rest of the group to examine.

Ryuji Kazan

Ryuji listened to Dozzco's explanation of what she and Momo had found out earlier, and nodded with one hand on his chin. "Alrighty, so we won't need to worry about getting injured, and we won't starve... ever. Kinda makes you wonder why--" Before Ryuji could finish his sentence, he heard a scream coming from the kitchen area.

"Oh, ffffffffuuuu..."
Ryuji rushed over to the kitchen with the small entourage he was with, and upon approaching the general vicinity of the kitchen, a terrible odor reached his nose. "Oh, yep... I know that smell anywhere... burnt flesh and cloth." Ryuji said with a strained voice as he held his breath. Upon following Dozzco into the room, there was Momo, sobbing over a charred body that belonged to the dog-costume person that had been bleeding the day before. Ryuji narrowed his eyes and pinched his temples. "And this... is why we can't have nice things." He shifted a bit as Kiera suddenly grabbed his shoulder when she seemed to collapse in disbelief. "Oh, careful."

He had heard the body discovery announcement, and shortly thereafter came the first Monotora File, providing details on the victim as well as their cause and time of death. "12:45 am, fire and blunt force trauma... hmm. Let's get to it, then. If this 'Class Trial' crap is what I imagine it is, we've gotta get as much evidence as we can so we can be sure we nail the right perp. Our lives could literally depend on us getting this correct."

Ryuji chose to examine the burnt section of the kitchen as he collected a chocolate-frosted donut, using the sweet aroma of the frosting to try and ward off the stench that pervaded the whole room... to only minor success. He noticed that only half of the kitchen showed signs of fire damage, and that even though the kitchen did have a fire suppression system in place, the floor was surprisingly dry. "For a fire that covered an entire half of the kitchen, it sure is weird that the sprinklers didn't go off..." He commented as he took a large bite of the donut, referring to the dry floor. "Now, I wonder why that would be...? Hey, let's see if I can get close to one of the sprinklers. Someone mighta tampered with it."

When Haruki asked who the victim was, Ryuji simply turned his head toward her and answered: "The guy from yesterday in the dog costume, who was bleeding like nobody's business. Thank freaking God Kuro was around to tend to him."

On the floor under the table appeared to be a half melted bottle of olive oil and various damaged utensils. Despite the overall state of the room it didn't appear the fire spread very far from the corpse. On close inspection the ribs of the corpse would appear to be broken.

Dozzco scribbled in her clipboard fervently, with her occasionally glancing around the room time after time. As Monotora announced the body's discovery across the entire ship, she figured that it was only a matter of time until others showed up as well. She had to get as many details about the scene of the crime as possible. Kiera seemed to need some time to recover, and Yuka had implored for Dozzco to take a similar time to eat. Dozzco finished writing something before tilting her head at him.

"Hm? Oh don't worry about me, Yuk-Yuk.;D" Dozzco tilted her head back and twirled her clipboard in her grip "I'm a shy eater, so why not use this time productively?:csmile:"

As she spoke, she began writing again. Turning her attention towards the corpse again, she approached it as the others began their investigation. As their PDAs hissed to life, Dozzco took a moment to look it over as Haruki showed up. She didn't even realize who it was, which wasn't much of a surprise given how much doggie dude had been eager to hide since his arrival.

"If ya want to help someone, why not keep Kiera some company during her meal?:lenny:" Dozzco offered before pocketing both her clipboard and PDA and flexing her fingers as she approached the corpse.

Momo had recovered and Ryuji had begun his own investigation, with those two investigating the area around the body, Dozzco felt as though it was time to get down to the nitty gritty. She kneeled beside the corpse and looked it over for a moment. Her visor went blank as she leaned down and began carefully running her hands up and down the body. Her gloves pressed against the charred flesh of the torso, with a small hum emanating from within Dozzco's mask as she began poking and prodding at the body.

She moved as if in a daze, hands moving along the corpse as the others worked. She didn't stop until Momo spoke up about cooking oil, Dozzco pulled back, ash and tiny bits of scorched flesh falling from the fingertips of her gloves.

"Cooking oil?:ghost:" she looked up at the ceiling as a small ghost figure appeared on her visor "Yes, the scent of the burn overwhelming the natural hint of the oil.:ghostunu:"

When Ryuji mentioned the lack of action from the Sprinklers, Dozzco paused again, but only for a little time. She returned to her examination of the corpse and pressed her gloved-hands against it again.

"The most recent signs of physical trauma are broken ribs, most bruises are obscured by the burns.:ghostv:" she noted before standing up again, knees and parts of her coat now stained with the corpse's ashes and blood. Turning her attention to the side for a moment, she reached for the only slightly burnt head of the dog outfit, lifting it up to look it over as she kneeled beside the body again "Identification is difficult, the fire was centralized almost completely to the body, but the order of events needs to be determined.:ghost:"

Kiera Kross ~ Ultimate Technician
As Kiera ate her apple she noticed the others had got to work. “I’m fine I can do this.” Kiera assured Dozzco. Already starting to find evidence Hatsumomo held up a piece of fabric that supposedly smelt like cooking oil. Kiera carefully took it from her hands and smelt it. “Seems to be.” She confirmed. Kiera carefully handed it back to girl and rubbed her hands on the bottom of her shirt. “It’s kinda sticky too, so could definitely be cooking oil.” She added.

The blonde then eyed the charred body again.
“Come on you can do this.” She mumbled under her breath, moving over to the body along with Dozzco. Kiera knelt down in front of the body and examined it. The body was a charred mess of burnt flesh. The smell was awful but Kiera could just about stomach it this time. Kiera moved closer and noticed something odd. What she assumed was the chest looked out of shape and mangled. “This is a bad idea.” She whispered, reaching her hand out to touch the corpse, but before she could Dozzco did the honours. The bones in the mess of a chest seemed to move and Kiera could hear the bones crunching against one another. “I think his ribs are broken.” She spoke, trying stop herself from gagging.

Kiera soon moved away from the body leaving Dozzco to it. The one with gloves was in a better position to touch the body. The blonde then noticed something out the corner of her eye. There was a half melted bottle of something under the table. Kiera crawled under the table finding several damaged utensils. Spatulas, knifes, spoons, pretty much anything you would find in a kitchen. The blonde grabbed the bottle and held it up to read what was left of the label. “Oli… Oi…” She said, confused. The blonde turned the bottle over to read the back. “83% Oleic acid… Olive Oil?” Kiera questioned. “Hatsumomo, I think it might be Olive Oil, not cooking oil. Very slight difference between the two.” She explained, holding up the bottle.

Mikia looked up as more people entered the kitchen area. An announcement had gone over the loudspeakers, notifying them of the body and saying they had some time before a "class trial" began. She realized there wasn't really any time to waste sitting around nauseated. Who knew how much time they had to figure out who the killer was before the trial began. She didn't intend to just sit around and let things happen. That wouldn't be like her. She had no plans to wait and die on this ship, so right now she needed to start figuring out what happened. Standing up she looked back down at the death file on her PDA. Fire and blunt force trauma.

Walking back into the kitchen, she gave herself a minute to adjust to the smell before walking over to where Dozzca, Momo, and Kiera were gathered around the body. Mikia had decided that the best way to go about this was thinking of it as like one of her investigations for the blog. It helped her focus a bit. She was very thankful that a few years of learning to pick up details when poking around was now coming in handy, of course, she'd never been in a situation like this before though. Watching as Dozzca poked around the body, she tried not to vomit at the sight of all the burned flesh. She listened as Dozzca listed the injuries and then as Kiera identified the oil as olive oil, not cooking oil.

Piping up when Dozzca mentioned figuring out the order of events, Mikia said, "Well.....obviously someone, uh, covered him in the oil and set him on fire, right? Jeez, that's really gross! But! Before that, they must have broken his ribs. See how the fire didn't spread far from the body? They were clearly unable to move at all once set on fire. Oh and, uh, well whoever did this would have had to be strong, I'd think. They'd have to overpower him, enough to break his ribs, right?"

Hana greatly appreciated Dozzco’s kindness from the night prior. The way she’d taken care of her was sweet. When the morning announcement went off, Hana got up and stretched. Maybe this wouldn’t be so bad. It wasn’t like anyone would actually commit murder. Yeah, this was fine. She grabbed her PDA before heading out of the room. She should go eat, yet the gym was calling her name. Maybe another time, right now she probably shouldn’t be alone. Even though she greatly believed in everyone here, there was no need to throw caution to the wind.

Hana walked into the kitchen, stopping in her tracks as she saw the gore. “No,” she whispered, slapping her hand over her mouth. Her eyes filled with tears as she tried to analyze what happened. She’d be an idiot not to realize he’d be an easy target, but to take advantage of that was absolutely criminal. “Who could’ve done this?”

Ryuji Kazan

While the other students were investigating an olive-oil-soaked piece of cloth near the victim's body, Ryuji had an idea. He found a serving cart tucked away in a corner of the kitchen and pushed it into place near the counter, weighing down either side of the cart with flour sacks so it wouldn't slide around. Ryuji then climbed onto the counter and then to the upper rack of the cart, where he was at least able to get a better view of one of the sprinkler heads mounted on the ceiling. "Alrighty, let's see what we've got here..."

"Olive Oil?" Momo mused, taking the bottle from Kiera. "Oh, and you can just call me Momo, Mew~" She added. "All of my fri... Hmm... Everyone else does, Mew~" She inspected the bottle closely, and there was definately a good 3/4ths of its contents missing, maybe more. Mikia may have been right; That definately could have been enough to cover someone, but maybe not head-to-toe. But why would he let himself get covered in oil in the middle of a struggle in the first place?

"Ryuji, you know about fire, don't you?" She asked, looking around for him. "How long would it take for oil to burn someone this badly?" She asked, and was finally able to find him on a ladder, studying the sprinklers. "Oh, if you're not busy, that is, Mew~"

Snagging a dish rag from off of the counter, Momo wadded it into a ball and stuffed it inside her mask to shield her nose and mouth from the smell. Though her knees trembled and her somach churned, she slowly made her way closer to inspect the body. The closer she got, however, the harder that prospect became. It really was a terrible sight, and getting closer didn't help. Queasy, she ended up falling to her knees again, but she was close enough that she could pass it off as kneeling down to get a closer look at the body. She put a hand against his side and whimpered a bit as she felt the fragments of his broken ribs shift under his skin, but she stayed determined to find out what she needed to know. Still, though, so many pieces...

Blunt force trauma... Making a note to wash her hand thouroughly later, she started to check his head for any sides of a concussion. "Does anyone know what he could have been hit with, to do this to him? It's not like someone could break multiple ribs with their bare hands, Mew~" She looked back at the group over her shoulder. "None of you can do that, right?"

The sprinklers above seemed relatively fine, but the valves above seemed to be switched to the off position. Beyond the pipes appeared to be a ventilation fan which sat wide open. Despite it's obvious open vents, it appeared to be hidden from below. From above, if a person followed the wire connected to it, they would find the switch leading outside next to a flower bed.

She was now observing the body calmly, an hood over her head rather calmly. Despite the fact she was very much inwardly freaking out, her stoic face had a very unreadable expression imprinted upon it. When the others saw the body, all she did was seeming thoroughly look at the dead body, to see exactly what could've caused what was caused to her. She was in the group as of the following statemen, and she looked at her hands. It was weird. Unlike before, she almost felt... Strange. I was like , almost being assaulted by the many array of talents. But she kept her cool. And honestly, the fact of her talent and who she was able to mimick, didn't exactly help matters in her favor, considering who she was currently able to mimick... Could've easily caused the damage done to this individual. So, she continued to stay quiet, hoping to find a way that once she reveals her talent, could accurately explain an good alibi.

"Oh, the furry, yeah, I think I remember."

She looked around, waiting for a few minutes as they began the investigation.

"We should also probably identify where the cloth is from, or if the original clothes or textile was burned completely and that is the residue. Um okay--After that we need to look around the body and find scorch marks that prove that he was indeed burnt here, if not we need to find an area with proper evidence where the burning took place. There also needs to be a cleanup for the altercation, since he has bruises and broken rips we can assume there was a struggle...Maybe...Maybe not actually. Forget that. Um..." She paced around, racking her detail oriented brain for some more clues that would be useful. "Right, we should look around the ship for anything that seems out of place, something with ash or blood, or even something that's wet that shouldn't be. Evidence of cleanup is still evidence."

After that whole spill, she looked around, an unsure expression on her face. She looked up to the sprinklers. "They don't look broke--Do they? I can't see much from here, do you think we should look into the internal wiring or plumbing? I mean--I'm not really the electrical type so I don't know how sprinklers work...Sorry. Ryuji, was it? What do you see up there?" She went to stand under him, her hands laced in front of her in an effort to comfort herself.

Ryuji Kazan

Ryuji finished his inspection of the sprinklers, and turned his head down towards the group. "Well, here's the thing..." He said, mainly focusing his attention on Haruki since she had asked for his findings. "...the sprinklers are intact, no evidence of physical destruction. But... and this is a big but, the water's been cut-- the valves are switched to "off". There's also that." Ryuji pointed to the ventilation fan. "I didn't hear any alarms going off through the night, so if there was a huge-ass fire in here, whoever made it would've prob'ly had to vent the room real quick to keep the smoke from accumulating enough to trigger a reaction from the smoke alarms. Sure, the sprinklers can't douse anything if the water's off, but that ain't gonna stop those alarms from blaring like a sonuvabitch when they pick anything up. So, yeah... looking into that would be a good idea."

Ryuji climbed back down to ground level, and gave Momo a look when she asked him about oil and how long it would have to burn to cause serious damage to a person. "I'm... okay, listen. Yes, I do work with fire and things that explode and give off sparks and whatnot. My talent revolves around firework displays and special effects and whatnot-- that much is a given. But... I'm no 'Ultimate Biologist'. Sorry to burst your kitty bubble, but interactions between fire and human flesh? Not my strong-suit. What I do know is, don't mix the two, otherwise... that happens." He thumbed to the corpse. As for Momo's question about what could have been used to provide the aforementioned blunt-force trauma, Ryuji motioned towards the mess of pots and pans that lay scattered around the room. "If you ask me, as totally original as this sounds, a frying pan or pot could maybe do the trick if you swing one hard enough. See if any of 'em are dented or maybe have some kind of bloodstain... just a possibility. Meanwhile..." Ryuji double-pointed to the fan. "...let's see what elusive mysteries the fan holds for us."

A few seconds after his entrance, the body discovery announcement was made. Soon, a flurry of people charged into the kitchen to see it for themselves. Almost everyone more or less had similar reactions when compared as a whole. Looking away at the new folks that just came in, he returned his attention to Dozzco. What he got was a rather polite and expected response from her. "Hm? Oh don't worry about me, Yuk-Yuk." Yuka had to smile a bit at the new nickname this person had given him. It had a nice ring to it. Slowly, the emptiness he had felt earlier started to disappear and as if rising out of a coffin, his friendly self returned.

Instantly, he slapped his face with both of his hands. "S-sorry that was probably weird but...it helps me shake off a bad mood." That's right Yuka. Does it only take a little to bring you that low? C'mon! You have to stay strong not only for you but for everyone! The inquisitive individual tilted her head back and twirled her clipboard in her grip. "I'm a shy eater, so why not use this time productively?"

That was definitely the answer he didn't want but he didn't let his smile or re-energized pleasant countenance fade. Instead, he chuckled, "Haha, that's fine and I agree! We have to get to the bottom of this after all, and bring justice to this situation." He felt a bit awkward and in a way ashamed that he suggested to do something so trivial as eating when a dead body was just a few seconds away from them.

As if sensing his emotions, Dozzco suggested something to him, "If ya want to help someone, why not keep Kiera some company during her meal?" He looked around the room. Kiera? He spotted a girl with blonde hair, styled into a sort of pigtails. He nodded back and said a brief 'sure' to Dozzco, leaving the note-taking Ultimate alone. As he neared the girl, she had probably heard him already from the looks of it. Looking at her hand, she had an apple shrinking by the second as more bites were taken. His face lit up a little bit knowing someone took his advice.

Despite that, the girl was still, like with all the others, focused on the body. He shook his head, "Hey there! Kiera's the name right? I appreaciate you and the others for helping with this mystery but..." He raised his voice a litte bit for the next part, "You probably need a proper meal to start your day!" Regardless. people went on to keep playing detective. A large amount of people were doing that, and some of them were experts in that field, especially Dozzco. It seemed like she was in her natural habitat. He could join them but he felt like he'd get in the way of the more suited individuals. He sighed a little bit but he went and pumped himself up, he could still contribute something. He was a volunteer after all! Glancing at the floor, he walked towards the non-bloody sections. Some pans were scattered all about, he picked one up and dusted off what was most likely ash, and went to the kitchen sink.

He washed it thoroughly and found a kitchen item that disinfected things. He used it to clean the pan, just in case, flesh or any unwanted unsanitary contaminants might have come in contact with the pan. Moving towards the seemingly undamaged refrigerators, he found a plethora of items upon opening it. Before he did anything, he placed the pan on the kitchen's stove. Grabbing a jar of oil, coconut to be exact, he went to where the silverware was and got a spoon. He scooped out two tablespoons of the oil and dropped in on the surface of the pan. He flipped the temperature dial on the stove, putting it on medium heat to make the oil melt gradually. It's so the eggs won't stick, that's what he learned from some cooking videos.

While he was away from everyone, there were already a few allegations that had formed. He overheard that Ryuji could have done something. Though, after a quick explanation from the "Ultimate Pyrotechnician," the theory that he could've done something so horrible was disproven, in Yuka's opinion...for now at least. Yuka believed him, but he nonetheless kept his guard up a bit around everyone ever since he witnessed the first murder. Anyone could have done it as much as he didn't want to admit the undoubtedly true thought. He just hoped no one would go accuse him, because it would be a great waste of time for everyone. Him? A murderer? What a joke. And an unfunny one at that.

He wasn't an "Ultimate Chef" or anything, but through and because of his volunteer work, he had gained some culinary experience. Once he saw the ingredients that the ship's kitchen had offered, he knew exactly what to make for everyone, if they wanted his food of course. With that, he felt like he was returning to a familiar atmosphere. It was just like the countless times when he went and did volunteer work.

He remembered one particular moment when he spent countless of hours at home, perfecting some desserts made of improvised materials, to give for free the next time he went to the relief center for the homeless that he frequented back home. The smiles that erupted from the beaten-down and broken-hearted folks was a reward for him in itself. The desserts that he had made were definitely not patisserie-quality but he liked to do something for them instead of passing them by. Making food for everyone also reminded him when he went off to go and serve soup. Soon he was deep in thought, almost forgetting their current predicament.

Snapping himself from his daydreaming, he went back to the refrigerator and grabbed an egg carton. He pulled them out gently and set them on the counter next to the stove. He planned to use the whole dozen, thinking that it should be enough for this huge group. Cracking them one by one, he seperated them equally into two plastic containers. One where he scrambled the yolks and the other he left untouched. He poured the scrambled portion first and cooked that, then reapplied the coconut oil and did the same with the second group of eggs.

Fluffy and covered in steam, platefuls of egg dishes were seasoned lightly with salt and pepper. Yielding about four plates with the scrambled version and six plates with one sunny-side up, he set them on a large table. He then made toast for each plate, and spread some butter on top of each of them.

Accompanying the food, were silverware and napkins that Yuka had set out. "Uh...everyone!" he hollered out for all to hear. "Here's some nutritious food to fill your stomachs! I'm sure it'll also help your minds during the investigation. Breakfast is the most important meal of the day." He smiled. The aroma of the eggs clashing with the repulsive stench of the dead body. "If you guys wanted something else or want me to make more, just let me know!" After his little announcement, he left everyone to do as they pleased but as he scurried into the shadows of the cooking area, he grabbed a knife out of a drawer. Not a butter knife. Something more sharp. It was for protection...right? He stuck it deep in his right pant pocket, making sure it didn't stand out.

This is Yuka's overall inventory. Wow you must really want to know what he's carrying. Unfortunately, there's not a lot for you here right now.

"Okay, let me look at them, please. Not that I don't trust you, I am just able to ascertain things with little details." She took a look for herself to see if there was any other damage that Ryuji might've missed. Seems she wasn't the trusting type. She took far longer examining however, her skillful eyes looking for any evidence that contradicts their previous findings. Luckily, nothing like that. They'd need to check the wiring to find out more, probably.

"Um okay, we should follow the wires, right? That's where the main box thing should be, yeah?" However skillful she was at recognizing fallacies in any object, she was by no means a plumber or electrician. "Ryuji, would you come with me please? I really could use some help. Do you know anything about like electricity or...Sprinklers? Anyone, for that matter? I think they'd be a nice help."

She spoke while still looking at the sprinkler, her hand going near it but never fully touching it. She then looked down when she smelled a pleasant aroma that attempted to mask the smell of death crowding the kitchen. "Wait a minute, what are you doing?!" She suddenly burst out, climbing down. She walked over to the ultimate volunteer, her face turning such a red that it contrasted with her hair. "I know that you may have never watched any detective shows or movies but I think it's pretty common knowledge that you don't f--ugh-- You don't mess with anything near the crime scene! We ate yesterday, you couldn't wait an hour or two until we figured this out?! I--" She grunted, holding her head in frustration. She was trying not to lose it, so many emotions packed into one tiny body, the seasickness...Everything was going to make her lose all the marbles she had left.

"Ryuji, come with me please!" She asked in a demanding tone, following the wires. He, of course, could choose not to follow the angry girl.

The wiring would lead outside the room to a rather inconspicuous looking box featuring a switch. Underneath it, the flowers not only seemed stomped on, but there was specks of red on them. Not much but enough to be missed if not looking for it.

After some time, Dozzco finally stood up from the body and stepped over to a sink. As the others talked and recounted their findings, she washed her gloves in the sink to the best of her ability. As she did so, she spotted Yuka cooking, something which the ghost on her visor didn't react to. After drying her gloves off, she pulled out her PDA and looked through something really quick before glancing up just as Haruki began chewing Yuka out. Dozzco turned towards this exchange with a hand on her hip for a while, the ghost on her visor staring impassively for a moment until Haruki stomped off asking Ryuji to follow her.

"Hmm, yes at this point I'd say a deliberation of labors is more than necessary. :ghost: " she said before turning to the others as she tapped on her PDA "Given the rules I'd say we don't have to worry about getting killed during the investigation, but we really should work in teams of two to minimize the chance of evidence getting erased:ghostv:."

Sliding her PDA back into her coat, Dozzco pulled out her clipboard and began writing again, "Ryuji, you and Haruki can follow the evidence outside:ghostr:. Hana, I know this situation might be overwhelming for you but could you and Miaki really quickly check and see if Doggie Dude even made it to his room overnight?:ghostl:"

Stepping back over to the body, she looked it over impassively for a moment before writing something down in her clipboard again and pocketing it. Once she was finished, she gave a long stretch before turning towards Yuka. She looked from him to his eggs several times before tapping the side of her visor.

"I'm gonna ask you to not do that again.:ghostunu:" she asked before folding her arms "I get Haruki's mad, but I've seen enough Ultimates to know that the accuracy of their titles come in vastly different variations.:ghostv: Instead of potentially disturbing the scene, you can volunteer to guard it with me right here until the trial starts. Wouldn't want any tension interrupting the investigation.:ghostxx:"

With that said, Dozzco leaned her head towards Momo, "As for the subject of what could've hit him, we may need to comb the room again, since I'm not even sure Ryuji could break ribs with his bare hands.:ghostr:" she tapped a finger to the side of her visor, wondering as she scanned the room several times. She pulled up her PDA and looked it over as she did, the ghost on her visor frowned as her gaze wandered over towards another student who she hadn't spoken to before. Upon spotting her just staring at the body, Dozzco pointed her out to Momo.

"You, Kiera, and her could should be able to search the rest of this place fairly quickly given how much has already been covered.:ghostv:" Dozzco said before rubbing at her chin "Though you might want to look for what's missing instead of what looks like it'd be used. The rules say that tossing the body overboard is a no go, but there ain't nothing about tossing evidence like a murder weapon.:ghostxnx:"

Kiera Kross ~ Ultimate Technician
The blonde looked at Yuka confused when he mentioned a meal, leaving him to get up to whatever he thought was best. Kiera scanned the room as the others continued, there was definitely something off about all of this. The small burn patch around the body didn’t make any sense to her, unless the boy had been restrained wouldn’t he have moved around? Unless they were unconscious. The monotora file did say blunt force trauma was a cause of death, it’s entirely possible they were knocked unconscious before being set alight. Kiera than shook her head and returned to reality, there would be plenty of time to hypothesize once the trial began. Maybe it would be a good idea to check the victim’s room, they could’ve been attacked and then brought to the kitchen.

Kiera then noticed Yuka had prepared a meal for them all and she couldn’t help let out an audible sigh. “Um maybe you shouldn’t have done that.” She lightly scolded. As Kiera was about to leave Dozzco started to give out instructions to the group. The blonde frowned at the instructions given out, she didn’t like the idea of someone trying to lead the investigation. “Dozzco, don’t take this the wrong way but I think I’d like to make my own decision on where I take my investigation.” Kiera explained. The blonde then took a deep breath before voicing her next thought. “It’s possible that you are the killer, it’s possible any of us are the killer. I think it’s important we make our own decisions on what we do. The killer could easily manipulate an investigation to make us miss something.” The blonde voiced her opinions clearly. She wasn’t trying to be confrontational, she just didn’t want to let anyone down by following blindly.

Running a hand through her hair Kiera cleared her throat, knowing that some people would probably be taken back by her comments. “I’m going to go check…” She paused for a moment pulling PDA back out again, checking the Monotora file. “Jason’s room.” Kiera sighed. It was bad that she didn’t even remember his name, that’s how little time they had to know each other. “If anyone wants to come with me feel free but I’m fine going on my own.” She spoke with a newfound confidence. Kiera didn’t wait for anyone to come with her and left the kitchen. If anyone wanted to join her they’d soon catch up.
