This sounds like fun! With the rules that have been outlined, it reminds me a lot of the more fast paced, free and chaotic style of role playing on my previous site, which I miss sometimes. Questions: is it possible to have a character who is a god? Or are all the gods in an unconscious, newborn-like state? Would it be possible to play a character who is the "avatar" or incarnation of one of the old gods?

Because I had this idea: An ordinary mortal gets a bit too close to one of the old gods and is affected by all the weird magic in the area. This results in part of the god's spirit bonding to said human. This spirit fragment awakens and becomes self-aware just by being exposed to a human intellect, and starts to try to do the god's will, even though it has incomplete knowledge and memories. This results in the human having a "voice" in their head and something like a split personality because the spirit will sometimes hijack the human's body. A fragment of the god's powers are also present, but the human and the god must develop a working relationship and learn to trust each other in order to use them effectively.

GummyWorm GummyWorm will this work, or should I come up with another idea?
@LadyOfStars Gods are not playable at the moment but that may change as the thread progresses, as for species restrictions anything that fits in a fantasy setting should be just fine!
I gotchu fam

Dunno about the avatar of the god thing tho, gonna have to wait for an answer on that from the baws

damn, an actual avatar of a god sounds cool. if this is approved, i think that the practice should be more widespread among the divine, as they would probably all wish to shape the world they guard more personally.

i have an idea, but i need approval to implement it. can i describe the spirit world myself, or would it be too much?

i was thinking about making the spirit world/the astral not a distant world that you need to specifically travel to, but a plane of the world that the rp takes place in. that means that the physical world and the spirit world phase into one another and coexist, without a hard divide. however, among the dwellers of the physical world only those who are gifted with specific powers and are themselves spirits are able to realize that the astral exists, as others simply can't feel it.

im not sure how to tie other possible planes (e.g. where dem corpses hang out, where the gods are, some other things like limbo and other worlds if we delve into the multiverse) into this structure (aside from "phasing"), so i'd like to hear what you and others think.

So, I’m currently away from a computer but I have an idea for a character. But first how long have the gods been awakening?

I was thinking of having her having “raised” one of the gods for a few years and they have a parent/child relationship. Though they have long since gone their separate ways. Thus her goal is to try and find the gods to help them learn control of their powers and fit better in this world.

Hey, is this still open? I’m interested in possibly making an incarnation of a dead god, separated from their power source and amnesiac.
