Dice Army of the Southern Cross - OOC

I'll just be the guy that'll say, "I've got eyes on the target and I've got good news, bad news, and worse news...which do you guys want to hear first?"

But yeah, planning on enjoying to the fullest~ :D

Let the doctor heroically charge forward, we'll follow close behind to recover his equipment.

I'm adding a link to the IC thread to the first OOC post. We'll be able to start soon.

Okay, I'm a bit embarrassed right now. I have everything I need for my character and I'm out of my element. Tried to understand the character creation mechanics but due to unfamiliarity and strangeness of the percentages and such...I'm stuck. T_T

lol If you'd like, I can polish up your sheet for you, get your bonuses all set.

I appreciate that Sherwood sir! I really want to learn this system but my head spun around after looking thoroughly at the sheet. T_T

Not a problem. I'll have you hooked up soon. Just a quick question: what Natural Aptitude did you want to go with?

I also see that you have a few Secondary Skills unallocated. Would you trust my suggestions on what to take?

What are the Natural Aptitudes available? I noticed that some chose Quick Reflex, your NPC is the Strong Man...

As for the secondary skills, besides boxing and gymnastics, what other two can I possible grab as a Comm-Scout? From the looks of things I might be the squishy member of the team.

Here are the available Aptitudes. Go ahead and pick one.

Sure Shot: +2 to Strike with all types of projectile and energy weapons, from pistols to rifles to mecha and spaceship weapons. This does not apply to missiles.

Natural Veritech Ace: +5% to Pilot Veritech skill and +7% to a single specific kind of Veritech (player's choice). Also, +1 on Perception rolls, +1 to Dodge and +1 to Roll With Impact when piloting any kind of transformable mecha.

High Perception: +1d4 on Perception rolls.

Quick Reaction Time: +1d4 on Initiative

Strongman: +1d6+3 to Ps Attribute and +1 to Pull Punch

Fast Learner and Jack of Many Trades: Select one extra MOS but without the benefit of the usual bonuses for it. High Iq bonuses (if any) still apply.

Quick Reflexes: +1 attack per melee and +1 to dodge

Fearless: +1d4+2 to save vs Horror Factor

Charismatic/Charmer: +1d4+2 to Ma, and this character is especially likable.

Gymnastics is a great skill to have, and another I would suggest is Sniper. That would give you a +2 on any Aimed Shot you make, inside or out of your mecha.

I'll take the Sure Shot and I read the Sniper, it will benefit being a Scout/Recon motif too. For the last skill since it's a 4 while the other 2 went to Krav Maga...does Mecha Elite Combat Training count? Or is it a part of the Myrmidon?

As a VHT pilot, you already have MECT for Ground Veritechs, so that is already covered.

Oh! Nice. Okay, just fishing about the Secondary skills for one last skill...

Equipment, well, starting gear is already given a pistol and a rifle...can the rifle be a sniper rifle per chance? Or is it a carbine type only?

Under the communications specialist MOS package, did you want to be able to speak another language or have the TV/Video skill?

If I chose language, what are the available languages to choose from?
Also, from what I read from the books and the skill page (if I understood it correctly) TV/Video is a form of communication right? Like with the Radio skill?

The most useful language that you could go with is Zentraedi, if you want. But, any terrestrial language is available.

Yes, the TV/Video is similar to the radio skill, but is more focused on television broadcasts.

I'll go for the language - Zentraedi. Useful for cryptography analysis and the like.

TV/Video can be sacrificed. (Famous last words)

You still have a Secondary Skill that you can use for TV/Video if you'd like.

It's that or Camouflage. The ability to communicate via broadcast or the ability to hide in plain sight. As said, we the players can get a skill after every level up right? Weighing my options on the skill...

No problem. I'm pretty much done with your sheet other than that one skill, so go ahead and take a look and see what you think.

I also want to make sure that you are sure you want to take the Myrmidon scout tank instead of the main Spartas VHT.
