Fantasy A new start(Ebony Rose)

"The last thing I want to do is see the people I care about hurt or sick. Trust me ok?" Melody asked, her words still soft and gentle but clearly lacking her attempted sexy-seductive tone. Taking the redheads hands into her own she gently tugged Vio towards the kitchen again with the warmest smile tugging at her lips. Pulling her past the surprised people she pushed Viol lightly back into her chair. "I'll be right back."

"You like her boss" one of the others on the wall, a woman shouldering a suppressed sniper rifle, with the nametag Hawkeye said with a tiny lecherous smirk. While nowhere near as verbally perverted as the guys, Hawkeye toed the line with 'hypotheticals' and unspoken implied comments.

Vio had her legs drawn in against her chest, sighing at the observation. "I will put you and Tank in the bedroom without sound-proofing again." She threatened, looking at her almost blankly. "Then everyone will hear, and you know what most of the guys do when that happens." It was not done in jest yet that she had so little anything in her eyes was rather concerning. It spoke volumes of how she did not want to be trying to eat anything other than established diet.

"She really has no idea. I'm so sick and limited in what I really can do, eat, or anything without all those damn vitamins and meds."

Melody returned a few minutes later with a small bowl of plain oatmeal. Calling it oatmeal was actually rather generous as she found some freeze dried cut up fruit and rehydrated it after making the oatmeal with the barest hint of maple syrup just to flavor; visual inspection showed the bowl was more fruit than oatmeal. "My little sister has severe dietary restrictions too, cieliacs disease. Can't eat glutton you know? I know how hard it is to have to live on a diet that isn't the most appealing" she said taking the seat beside Vio. "Just take one bite and if you begin to feel ill you don't have to eat more. I'll take guard puppy with me" she pointed to Cerberus ignoring the growl "to get you whatever fruit you like I promise" she said in a soft reassuring tone. She didn't like seeing Vio upset like this. Adorably shy and red faced- yes. Strong and confident- yes. But this almost broken looking shell of a person? It was tearing her heart apart to see. Setting the bowl done she hugged Vio gently nuzzling the redheads cheeks, strands of her long hair falling by the other girls nose tickling it from the rooms crossbreeze.

Vio nodded, at least letting Melody feed her without further resistance now. While she did eat somewhat slowly which suggested some possible feeling sick, it was more of a success than any previous attempts had been. Thankfully most was able to be eaten before having to stop though did look rather pale. Though it just as easily could be a sign of being due for the plague doctor to come for a regular check up. "Ugh, I don't wanna be stuck in bed."

Melody was glad Vio ate most of it since it meant there was something nutritionally good for the redhead in her stomach. The shade of pale that came over Vio's skin worried her as she pushed the bowl away and motioned someone ito put it in the kitchen. "With this shade of pale I think you could give that snake ninja guy from the ninja show a run for his money.... What was his name... Not important right now. You're going to lay down ok? I'll take care of you" she said clasping one hand between her own. "Is there a doctor that you see that I can call? A nursing service? I don't want to do something wrong and make you feel worse." Her words were tinged with gentle warmth as she glanced to Cerberus to prepare Vio's bed.

Hawkeye watched silently as the girl took control and was even able to make her boss eat more than she'd seen her eat in one sitting. No one else had been able to make the boss eat like that before. "Isn't today your doctors appointment boss?" she asked struggling to remember since it was usually Cerberus who maintained the schedule.

Vio shrugged, taking a moment to recall what she paid enough attention to even remember. "Plague does do his house calls about this times. Then again, he is a modern day quack for the dying and serious cases." She acknowledged, appreciating the warmth as she lightly leaned into the other female at her side. "I mean he's great at what he does but damn it must wear on him too. Of course, I honestly wonder how the hell he can get his hands on top secret experimental meds."

Though talking about nothing to laugh at, it sill was worth a head shake that she would be far more curious about Plague's likely connections and possible sticky fingers than if he even had clearance as a doctor. "My only complaint is he keeps calling me a medical mystery within so many layers, no one would believe him if he tried telling others just for help."

Top secret experimental meds? That was a worrying thought since experimental did not mean thoroughly tested and documented. Shoving that thought to the back of her mind she helped Vio to her bed, no surprise that Cerberus pointed to the master suite, and up onto the giant king mattress. With, perhaps too much of a near girlfriend or wife-ish, care she helped the redhead under the light bedding. "Can I get you anything to be more comfortable?" she asked sitting on the edge of the bed, her hands clasping one of Vio's own as her thumb ran across the soft skin lightly. Her parents would cast her out so horribly if they saw her like this, innocently but intimately taking such diligent care of another woman who wasn't her mother or sister. What surprised her was that she wouldn't care. A small part of her even reveled at the idea of sticking it to her father. Spotting a radio on the nightstand she released one of her hands and quickly put it on a station that played soft classical music. If there was a doctor that was coming to make a house call it'd be in everyones best for Vio to be relaxed as possible. "Anything at all." Her rouge hand returned to clasp Vio's again tracing her nails gently across the the tiny scars here and there. If she was asked to join Vio she would. Something about the other girl was... magnetic to say the least. She was beautiful-with and without the red contacts-, charismatic, beautiful in terms of how broken she was- a contradiction that made sense if you thought about it long enough- and... Shaking her head mentally she focused fully on Vio as a piano piece began to float through the air and completely missing the near silent click as Cerberus closed the door to the room leaving them alone.

"Mmm, just stay here with me. Sometimes I fall asleep beforehand so it's nice to have cuddling." Vio commented as she lightly hummed to the piano a moment. "Did maybe Mother used to play? Faint fragments of possible memory yet perhaps just as easily dreams instead." She seemed half awake and half asleep as if, floating through some sort of cloud that was neither fully real or made up. Granted, her room probably did have stashed somewhere something that would lead to interesting details at least. "She came from very old money, bloodlines once nobility but now simply aristocracy in a different way."

Melody nodded scooting over a little more while gripping Vio's hand a little tighter, not by much but still tighter, as her nails continued to gently trace lines. The half awake mumbles were considered for a moment before they were discarded. She couldn't answer the state-question for Vio, the girl could only answer that and it would take soul searching through most probably painful memories. "Some people can only be so lucky. This world... its full of material minded idiots who are so concerned about what the value of currency can get them. Most people.. they aren't born into a position where money is something they struggle to attain. But they're wrong in a lot of ways. Monetary wealth, political influence or power.. Love, friends, family- those things matter so much more. Its naive to so many people but I think its the things you can't put the value of a dollar on that matter most." A tiny almost sentimental style etched itself on her lips. "I think its just so much more important knowing you have someone you can count on to have your back."

Vio cuddled into her more, enjoying the warmth and quiet acceptance. “That man was rather mean, always painful if he saw me.” Sounding as if a child was talking about it more than a grown woman. Perhaps this was why she had to be persuaded to even try sleeping, falling into this state of herself and her memories. “Mother was warm, let me sneak to sleep with Brother even though Father had said no.”

"If it helps you Vio, you can sleep with me" Melody said reassuringly as she abandoned holding the redheads hand in favor of wrapping her arms loosely around Vio. As much as she, Vio that is, was an adult there was a childlike quality to the not fully conscious words. A need to search for comfort from whatever source that was available. "I won't turn you away, I promise you I won't. I don't know if I am as warm as he was but I will try my best to keep the bed warm." Her words gained a tone that had was a soft but firm resolve as she leaned her head just slightly to nuzzle the top of the redheads head.

The comfortable quiet was broken by loud knocking on the door and then the door opening with an equally loud thumb, the doorknob slamming against the wall. "How is my most intriguing subject?

Melody growled as her grip tightened on Vio. She didn't like the mans tone when refer to the redhead as an 'intriguing subject'. "She has a name jackass" she said with curled lip back in a sneer.

Drowsy still, Vio answered with firing one of the blanks in the gun on her dresser, revealing the purpose of this particular one simply to let people know she wasn’t getting up anytime soon. “Plague, I’m half asleep. Brother is telling me about something funnier than your ignorance.” She then went right back to Melody’s chest which apparently had become a pillow for now. At least she wasn’t having nightmares or trouble dozing.

Melody blushed at her chest being used as a pillow but kept her firm grip on Vio. Was the comment about her brother the effect of being half conscious? It must've been. Shaking her head ever so slightly, unknowingly nuzzling her nose into the crimson locks a bit more, she began to hum softly. It was an old lullaby she hummed for her sister when she was younger and ill. Embarrassment, satisfaction, annoyance and unknown emotion warred inside her head. The first three were semi explainable but the last wasn't. It was warm, possessive and... and something else she couldn't explain but it was there in the way Vio seemed content in her arms.

"Touching as your little lesbian love fest is ladies, lets get this over with shall we? You can get back to what you were actually doing or probably planning on if it haven't already" Plague said rolling his eyes. "And I told you Emblazia, yes I actually found out your name despite you forgetting if after taking your brothers name as your own, my name is not Plague. Nor do I appreciate being called Plague by a midget like you."

The young woman slightly stiffened at being called by her original name after so many years but the outright disrespect turned out to be one of her land mines as she fired her brother’s gun at the man, blowing out a knee in the process. Then again, the deceased Vio seemed to be as sensitive if not far more so topic as well. Either way, she merely tilted her head somewhat as she watched the emotions displayed as the man fell, returning the gun to its place before speaking. “I’m sorry but I’m sure that I misheard your words. Surely you were being far more respectful than calling me by that name, daring to even think of saying anything about my brother, and being so full of yourself to try correcting me in any manner in my house.”

Melody watched the doctor go down to his uninjured knee grimacing in pain as blood decorated the floor. "Easy" she said in a soft voice beside Vio's ear. "I don't care if your name is Vio or Utah, though I will say Emblazia has a catchiness to it and fits the fiery parts of your personality, but you need to calm down. He has the medications to help you and unless you want to get in worse shape we need him alive. For me, please calm down."

Plague glared fiercely at the young woman trapped in the embrace of the other. He should just hobble away and let the girl die from what was ailing her but she was far too curious a case for him to abandon because of the girls violent temper.

"Please calm down and let the man do what he must. You won't be left alone with him, I'll stay right here." Melody laid a gentle feather light kiss to Vio's cheek before nuzzling the soft flesh. It was stunning how quickly less than twenty four hours could change her life. "Lets get this over with so our day can really start yeah?" she asked rubbing a calming hand on Vio's shoulder.

Vio mumbled something or another before accepting she needed to dampen her temper, much enjoying being held. “Fine, fine but only cause you’re so warm.” She pouted. Honestly it was a wonder everyone didn’t have at least one scar each from her being so moody.

"Do what you need to before she decides to shoot you again."

Plague scowled forcing himself upright and hobbled to the bed. The examination took a half hour before throwing a bottle of unmarked pills at the young woman. "You know how to take those" he said with a borderline sneer before hobbling out after wrapping his leg.

Melody snatched the clear orange plastic pill bottle and examined the pills inside. "Are these even cleared meds?" she asked Vio slowly. The earlier comment of 'top secret experimental meds' came back making her scowl. "How do we know these are safe for humans? You said earlier that he deals in experimental meds. These could be what are making you sick."

“Oh Cerberus has these friends who happily keep watch on that. Something about one lost a younger sibling due to malpractice so rather trigger happy if not handled just right.” Vio answered, looking at the pills for herself. After a moment, she paged the man of the hour using something like an intercom. “He gave me those ones that occasionally have me feeling well you should remember right?”

"Sleepy and cuddly you mean?" Melody asked with a look towards Cerberus. tossing the pills to the man she gave him a look to make sure the pills were safe. If Cerberus kept an eye on the quack doctor and the products that he doled it she wanted to hear it from him. "Vio says those are safe. What can you tell me about what's inside of them? How safe are they in human bodies?" she asked resting her chin on top of Vio's head. She wasn't about to let her new... whatever they were be put in danger for some pills that may or may not be helping her. Her pupils vaguely resembled pinpoints for a moment before looking down and humming softly once more. "Can those hurt her or not?"

“They pretty much keep her drowsy though she has always been a difficult morning person.” He lightly teased the red haired female before getting serious again. “They’re a mix of something for the food nausea and trying to keep her sugars normal as possible since she can’t just eat anything.” Vio nodded with a yawn, nuzzling her pillow happily. “I’ve passed out occasionally if I don’t take it or go without refills.”

Melody watched from the corner of her eye before motioning for the pills to be tossed back. She didn't like that Vio was essentially dependent on the pills to function on a basic level. "Have you tried going to specialist doctors? Gotten a second opinion you know? There's got to be someone out there who knows what's wrong with you" she said gently carding a hand through Vio's hair even as she blushed at the redhead nuzzling into her chest. A brief glare aimed at Cerberus dared the man to make a comment and see what would happen to him. Kissing the top of Vio's head once more she went back to humming only be interrupted.

"We have things to do, remember boss?" Cerberus asked with a tiny smirk aimed at the blushing girl being used by his little sister in all but blood as a warm body pillow.

“Fine, fine.” Vio whined, only to cuddle deeper into the warmth despite her words. “I’ll have to get back to you later, Melody. These arses will just keep being a bother til I deal with the stupidity. Least they have a great art collection to steal.” She then looked up at Cerberus. “The Hounds do know that I want that undamaged, right? Like as in I’ll shove something up delicate areas for a scratch undamaged.” She questioned, getting to her feet and her knives.

Melody almost whined at the sudden loss of Vio's skin under her fingers. The key word being almost and nearly making her blush as dark as Vio's hair at the instinct.

"They know but we make no promises if it gets caught in the crossfire. Damage like that is beyond our control" Cerberus said rolling his eyes. "Don't you two have classes as well? The mess should take up a bit of the morning but you two have classes to attend. Or is the whole college experience going to pass you both by?"

Melody was tempted to throw something at Cerberus. She wasn't going to let it pass her by after nearly being shot last night she wasn't about to leave the safety of this safe house for the day at least. Not to mention she wasn't about to leave Jewel by her lonesome. Some of the guys might be her "Uncle" type figures but clearly some of them didn't know what was appropriate to say around children. Plus.. she kinda liked being around the girl. The innocence, small as it was, was refreshing and the fact she liked the little girl as much as she was liked by the little girl was a tiny part of it too.. "I should check in on Jewel. Where are her lessons being held in here anyways?" she asked pushing herself into an upright position.

Vio apparently had a similar idea as she huffed. “You are the one that signed me up for it. I still wanna know how since I’m fully grown and all.” She whined, looking rather irritated by the entire situation. “Though it’s probably just because you have the legal loopholes from that hospital stay where I ended up with bad poisoning but it still shouldn’t count for sticking me in a social life.”

Melody pouted shooting Vio a look. Hearing the redhead say something like that stung. A lot. "What does that make me, chop liver?" she asked with a hurt tone.

"Power of attorney as your 'closest living relative' grants me the authority you little bratty sister" Cerberus said with a snort. "Besides, you need normal human interaction that does not involve shooting, stabbing, poisoning or killing someone. You'd develop a habit before long and you already have one as it is. I'd rather you find a balance before you go all Ted Bundy on us. I'd answer your girlfriend though, that was a rather broad statement that seems to have hit the wrong nerve."
