It was then that Akio realized that he was probably not going to make it out of this situation. The grip of Kakuzu’s threads was far too strong, making it impossible for him to effectively fight back. So, as a ninja, he decided to accept his fate and die with dignity. Bowing his head, he offered up a prayer to his ancestors.

Hidan readied his three bladed scythe before licking his lips with pure delight and a crazed look upon his face.​

Akio’s lips moved as he said the prayer, committing his soul to the loving embrace of the ones that came before. He truly believed that he would be welcomed into their presence and spend eternity in paradise. After he was finished, the ninja lifted his head and stared straight into Hidan’s eyes, resigned to his fate.

"DIIIIIIEEEEEE!!!"

Shouted out Hidan, in an offscreen moment, he used his three bladed scythe to chop off Akio's head, as crows nearby could be heard making sounds, symbolizing the gruesome death that the Ninja had just suffered at the follower of Jashin's hands...​

Akio saw the scythe coming out of the corner of his eye. He was shocked by the method in which Hidan was choosing to kill him, but his thoughts only lasted a moment. In a instant, it was all over, his head hitting the ground nearby. His heart beat no more. Upon seeing that Hidan had killed Akio, Kakuzu dropped the now headless corpse, the threads instead wrapping around the younger immortal. “Enough of this. We’re going to take my bounty to the collection office now.”

"...Ahhh!!! fine, whatever! i've lost interest in killing you...FOR NOW."

said Hidan, powering down his grim reaper like state and reverting back to normal.​

“Good.” Said Kakuzu. He released Hidan once he was no longer in curse mode, and made the threads retract back into his arm. Bending over, the old immortal picked up the body of the one he was going to collect on. “Let’s go.” He then began to walk, carrying the man over his shoulder.

(Now I can barely keep my eyes open. I’m going to bed. Goodnight!

"Tch! your a real charmer, aren't ya Kakuzu?"

said Hidan, as he placed his three bladed scythe on his shoulder, walking behind Kakuzu whilst leaving Akio's lifeless body behind for the crows to feed on.​

Kakuzu ignored Hidan and kept on walking. He was irritated at him, but did not want to start a fight. They had already wasted enough time, and he was eager to collect the current bounty and start out on their next mission. After a couple more hours, they arrived at the collection station. It was at the back of a little, unassuming tea shop. After speaking to the owner, he slid open a hidden door and escorted the zombie brothers inside.

"...Hmph! i'll wait outside."

said Hidan, not interested in money and bounty collecting.​

Kakuzu did not care if Hidan stayed or waited. All he cared about was dropping off the body and collecting the bounty. Soon the exchange was made, and after he saw the money, the old immortal rejoined his partner. “Let’s go.” He said simply before continuing on down the road.

"FWAH! FINALLY! ABOUT TIME YOU OLD GEEZER!"

shouted out Hidan, glad to see that the exchange was over and done with.​

It was fortunate that Kakuzu was used to Hidan’s behavior, for it made things more tolerable. However he still found it rather irritating. Ignoring the younger immortal he walked along the path, watching for any signs that they were getting closer to the Land of Iron. Night came and the duo stopped at a tavern to rent a room for the night and get some food.

"Seriously? we're gonna stop at this shabby little inn? come on man!"

said Hidan, not happy with the pit-stop in their mission.​

Kakuzu glanced over at Hidan with mild annoyance. “I’m hungry, and I want to sleep.” He replied before stepping through the doorway. Upon entering the inn, he approached the front desk and rented a room. After that was done, he walked into the tavern area and sat down at a table. The old ninja did not care if Hidan followed him or not.

"Tch! whatever! i'm going to soak in the hot springs..."

said Hidan, deciding to rest up in some hot water of which was ironic since he came from the Hidden Steam Village.​

Kakuzu ordered a meal and some sake. It was nice to have some time away from Hidan, and be able to relax. After he finished eating and drinking, the old immortal decided to finish up the night with a soak before bed. Soon he joined the younger man in the hot spring. Dropping the towel around his waist, he slipped into the water with a sigh, near where Hidan was. “You should get some food.”

"Don't tell me what to do old man, remember, unlike you, i'm not all wrinkles and bones just like you you old mummy."

said Hidan, referring to Kakuzu's years of longevity.​

 

[HiddenLeafNinja]

Kakuzu glared at Hidan in anger, suddenly regretting his decision to come in here while Hidan was still present. There went the quiet he had enjoyed while eating alone. “Eat something or I’ll force you to. I don’t want to listen to you whine about how hungry you are tomorrow.”

"...OHHH? you want to go another round, you old freak?"

said Hidan, raising his fist against Kakuzu.​

 

[HiddenLeafNinja]

Kakuzu caused some of the black threads from his arm to shoot out and wrap around Hidan’s hand and arm. “Put down your fist or I’ll rip out your heart.” He growled. “Now get some food.”

"Bite me!"

Hidan stormed out of the hot springs, proceeding to put his clothes on and leave Kakuzu to boil up in the hot water.​

Kakuzu was completely unbothered by Hidan’s response, for he was used to the younger immortal’s outbursts. He simply watched him go and just enjoyed the time alone in silence. Meanwhile, a hot spring attendant saw Hidan and approached him. “You seem upset. Is there anything I can do to help you relax, sir?”
