The slight fight between Robin and Power didn't startle Mike, but he instinctively put his arm in front of Rixia, blocking her. Meanwhile, his eyes have Jester a look, telling her to stay put.

Walking with the group, he played with his watch, his mind sorting out the different people and his feelings about them.

Rixia, who was apparently the ultimate dancer, he trusted the most. Intelligent, good head on her shoulder. If things get hairy, could she handle herself in a scrap? Well, see.

Now, Jester? Mike should hate her. She is like a sugar high in human form. Well, maybe not in human form. However, there was something about her Mike couldn't hate. Mike had experience dealing with characters in his line of work. In many ways, she reminded him of Saul, but actually charming.

While he never talked to Robin, he did watch her scuffle with Power. The fact she's an alleged former assassin, it just confirmed his gut feeling. And her weird power? It was fascinating, terrifying, but interesting. She definitely was a pro. He wasn't sure he could trust her, but he'd rather have her as a friend than an enemy.

Her sparring partner? Power? She was a living time bomb. Mike wished Robin would have just killed her when she had the chance, even if he knew it was better that she didn't. Power reminded him of the Salamancas if they were more childish and had a horn. Mike could tell she would be nothing but trouble. When you see a rabid dog, you eventually have to put it down.
Looking around the room, his wide eyes turned to Rixia. "What do you think we should do?" Mike asked like he was testing her.

A fight nearly breaking out didn't help Miko's lack of appetite. Her hands shot up to her mouth, wincing at what should have been an escalating brawl... if not for the lights going out. A shiver shot up her spine when something latched onto her wrist, letting out an "Eep!" noise. Then it was normal again, lights on and all.

Like a few others her first instinct was to get the watch off, though she quickly realized it wasn't anything dangerous. If anything, it was just like a smart watch she'd seen in her home. Map... MEMO... Profiles...? Tapping on that, her eyes widened at the coming page. Everyone and their names were there, alongside their ages, a few defining characteristics, and... a title? But there at #5, she saw herself. Ultimate Medium... What did... How did they know about her ability?

And what on Earth were these people centuries old? She looked over the names again and again. Seeing as she missed out on most of the introductions, it was good to memorize who she could, Miko figured.

But there was little time to dwell on that. A message popped up, asking everyone to go to wherever the central room was.

A horrified scream pierced the air. The source of the voice was the young blonde girl she'd seen in the list, spurred into panic by the odd device. The poor girl looked petrified... Another girl whose name was Louise was first to comfort her. Though that might've been fine as is, sympathy got the better of Miko, and she went to help. "H-Hey, Marie, right...?" She stopped short of the two. "You don't need to worry...! This is just a watch. It's strange we can't take it off, but I don't think it'll hurt us. See?" Miko offered a weak smile, pointing at the screen as another message flashed on it.

It was still strange to think these two were over a century older than her...

"I think that's meant to be a bear," said Cove, "But... you don't have phones where you're from? Really?"

He put a finger to his chin, "There are phones everywhere. Everyone has one where I'm from. It's basically a device that people use to call each other, converse with each other by sending instant messages, take pictures, and like a lot of other stuff, too. As for watches, they're usually just for telling time, but smartwatches do other things, it's like a phone on your wrist,"

"But... wait... where are you from?"

Fushi listened to Cove’s explanation with fascination and awe, even if the concept of phones and watches was new to him and he didn't fully understand what Cove was saying.

"I've never stayed in one place long enough to really call it home, save for maybe Boozeman's place in Takunaha? I have a feeling you won't know where that is." He explained.

When Cater and the others had arrived at the scene of the lab cafe, hell had already broken loose. So much so, that he decided to stand at the entrance and observe. He figured he’d be better off as a wallflower. He also figured the blond girl would appreciate it too, easily scared as she was.

Cater observed many interesting new faces. The old guy, the guy with the big hat, the white haired guy, the green haired guy, an entirely blue person, two different girls with devil-like horns?

There was way too much going on for Cater’s liking. He never was a fan of parties, despite what he may tell people. He preferred a much quieter atmosphere.

Cater tugged on the girl’s arm, which he realized he was still holding on to. “Hey, c’mon. We checked out the place now we should just-“

He didn’t get the chance to finish his sentence before the lights went out. He finally dropped his grip on the girl’s arm when he left something brush past his own.

The lights came on and various noises of confusion broke out from the group. "Oh, a-and is everyone alright? Jester, Mr. Mike? Cater? No one's hurt?"

Cater was thankful for Rixia’s concern of him. “I’m fine. You?” he calmly asked.

He looked down at his fancy new watch. Huh. Some kind of smartwatch. He immediately started poking around with it. It was just like his phone for the most part, except for the fact it had way less apps installed.

Cater glanced through the profiles, taking note of his observations from before and assigning them to the proper profiles. And… he finally had a name for the girl.

“Marie? Sorry you never gave me your name before, but it’s right here. It’s a pretty name.”

And familiar. But he didn’t think he’s ever met a Marie before.

He took another look at the profiles. This would certainly help him decide who to talk to.

Cove was his age, and overall just seemed like a normal guy. He figured if he had a shot making friends with anyone else here it would be him. Besides, he wanted someone that wouldn’t scare the daylights out of poor Marie.

Cater, presumably with Marie in tow, began walking to the green haired boy. He was only able to catch a piece of his conversation.

"H-hey! I'm not that easily flustered!"

Cater could use this. With all the usage of powers he witnessed, he decided to test out his own. Carefully though, he didn’t have a magestone and really didn’t want to risk overblot. He doubted anyone here would know how to handle that.

He waited until he watched as Cove began to leave the cafe. Another boy- Fushi, he recalled- followed suit. Cater pivoted in attempt to get avoid both of them, and with a whisper of the phrase “split card!” there were suddenly two of him.

He followed both of them out towards the center room, happy to leave the loud cafe behind. The quiet meant that Cove and Fushi’s conversation could be heard easily. They were talking about phones. Now Cater was invested.

Cater and his clone jumped on Cove from behind, wrapping their arms around his back, now one Cater on each side of him.

“Were ya talking about phones? Haha! Sorry to interrupt, but Cay-kun couldn’t help but overhear! Wink!”

(yes. he said wink out loud. while winking.)

Fushi blinked as two redheads jumped on Cove and started talking to them even as Cove moved to shake the two off. Twins? Did twins tend to sound the same as well as look the same?

His attention went to the signs on the doors that were unlocked and locked. Though one piqued his interest more than the rest.

"Organic study?" He muttered aloud, only to stop and turn his head back to where they had begin to leave as a sudden commotion caught his attention.

"No!" Another yelp escaped her as she tried to jump back away from the device, which was naturally a redundant attempt and only led into her awkwardly waving the offended arm around in an effort to shake the thing off. "I-it's attached?!" she cried in terror.

The blonde (someone had called her Marie, right?) seemed to be panicking, but Fushi was at least glad that others seemed to be quick to go to the terrified woman's aid. He hesitated near Cove for a moment, unsure on if he wanted to try and help or let the others handle it.

"Y-Yes, I'm alright, thank you," Rixia responded with a nod toward Cater, before giving the strange device on her wrist another look. "But... what even are these for? And why would whoever brought us here go through the trouble of pulling... a stunt like what just happened?" She wondered aloud, though she knew that asking anyone else here would have been in vain.

Even though she had received the message to head toward the Center Room, Rixia hesitated for a moment, still reluctant to make a move from here. She hated the prospect of being in someone else's palm, but she had no other alternative, and if nothing else, she also certainly wanted to meet with whoever was behind everyone's predicament here. When Mike turned toward and spoke to her, the young woman blinked in mild surprise, not expecting him to have asked her of all people such a question.

"Eh? Me? Well..." She initially said, before her eyes narrowed in a mix of what looked like deep contemplation and some anxiety for good measure. "As much as I don't like being shoved around on some stranger's whim, I'm not sure we exactly have a choice. If I had to guess, I'd wager there's another message waiting for us in this Center Room, if not the mastermind themself waiting to speak with us directly, and honestly, I'm just as interested in speaking with them as well," Rixia said without missing a beat. The way she spoke so clearly and pensively, one might have been able to describe her ability to keep calm under such pressure as uncanny. "Besides, if they wanted to hurt us, they could have easily done so at any opportunity," she remarked, between the incident of their individual kidnappings and the surprise blackout just now. "I think... they want something from us. Something specific."

Blinking bashfully once she realized how much she had spoken uninterrupted, Rixia cleared her throat and brushed aside her hair. "That's... just my guess though," she said, as if pre-emptively undermining herself. "I suppose we won't really know until we brave to find out ourselves. Come on, we should follow everyone," Rixia finished, gesturing for Mike to follow her as she left the Lab Cafeteria along with everyone.

However, when she saw that access wouldn't be so simple and that they'd have to enter Decontamination first, Rixia, mystified, looked down at her wrist device for a moment, taking note of the updating map on it and spotting where she needed to go next. Just what sort of building was this to have so many facilities in it? Even so, she began to head toward Decontamination as directed.

"And besides!" Jester peaked up from behind Rixia as she finished speaking. "They gave us all of that food too! Would a real bad person do that?"

She pondered her own question for a moment before answering it. "Unless of course they'd wanted to look at use, which you should've just asked if we wanted to do I'm sure some people would've agreed to that!" Jester shouted that final part into the air looking like she was expecting a reply, but when she didn't get one she moved on. "What's this decontamination thing? And this!" She showed off her armlet yet again. "A lot of this stuff reminds me of this place I visited with my friends with like really really old stuff laying around. Except this seems brand new and...not as impressive but almost as impressive. It's all very weird. If you ask me."

The Caters dropped their arms from Cove as he scurried away. "U-uhhh, is that how you greet people?"

“Sorry, sorry… not usually, no. I just felt like making an entrance.” the pair of Caters merged back into one and began his usual introductions song and dance.

He flashed his usual peace sign. “Cater Diamond. And you’re Cove, right? Nice to meet you! And this is Ma-“

Cater glanced behind. He was sure Marie had been right behind him but… it seemed she was still in the Cafe. And sure enough not a moment later-

A scream from the Cafe, likely to be his blonde friend.

Unsure of whether to stay or go, Cater lingered while debating his options. He wanted to help her, but he also wanted to meet more people and get aquatinted.

He couldn’t just leave her.

“SIGH. I’ll be right back!” he nodded to Cove before heading back to the Cafe, only to find multiple people had already taken notice of Marie. Maybe he wasn’t needed after all. He couldn’t help but feel a little dejected by that.

Hopefully before anyone would notice him, he turned right around and headed back to Cove and Fushi once more. He was a little embarrassed to be running around like a chicken with its head cutoff. He’s usually more composed than this.

“I’m back. Uhh, where were we?”

komari_bk.pngAs the rest of the strange cast of characters began to filter out of the room, Marie remained still, her visible trembling the primary indicator that she still lived. With bated breath, the frightened girl continued to wait for what she was sure would be a violent explosion that would put Leonhart's flames to shame, but... instead, she was surprised to be greeted by several concerned voices, each apparently directed her way. Emerald eyes that had been squeezed shut in fear as she held her wrist as far from her as possible finally reopened, but she couldn't quite find a sense of relief. After all, there had been a delay before that strange device that had held Ellie's voice had detonated, too.

Hearing Nian's question about if she had seen anything, the pale girl shook her head adamantly, her arm still held as far from her as possible. Vaguely, she nodded towards it. "The strange thing, w-with the flashing screen and the strange shaking," she relayed with quavering breath, "i-it... i-i-it was going to...."

Her words trailed off, another wave of déjà vu hitting her and momentarily breaking her already minimal ability to put her thoughts and feelings into coherent words. "explode?" she muttered, though her freneticism of before had now died into uncertainty. Her eyebrows furrowed in perplexion, and her stiff-as-a-board arm finally began to relax just slightly. Given she was already someone that struggled desperately with understanding emotion, these repeated bouts of strange familiarity were incomprehensible and borderline painful to her, equivalent in nature to a sudden dull headache. In this case, she tried to chalk the easing of her fear up to the approach from Miko, deciding that that was the most reasonable answer... even if she didn't get what the girl was saying at all. "A... watch?" Another beat passed. Hesitantly, her gaze shifted to the device on her wrist, though it was clear it still unsettled her. "...what are we watching for? I don't understand."

And, perhaps more importantly, what was going on? It seemed like during her panic, everyone had more or less vanished from the cafeteria. The fingers of her watch-free hand idly twitched at her side, seeking something that wasn't there; at which point, something else finally hit her. "Where... did that strange boy go?" Now that she'd noted his absence, another twinge of discomfort gnawed at her chest. For whatever reason, having him close to her had managed to ease her initial anxiety surrounding this absurd situation. But now that that warm and reassuring touch upon her skin was gone, the discomfort of being alone with a group of strangers and no Ren in sight was flooding back to her. Uncomfortably, she took a small step back from the three girls, her lips pressing together tightly and her eyes drifting away in search of some source of comfort she doubted she'd find.

He wasn’t even gonna question why he’s in a lab with so many magicians.

"W-well… nice to meet you… uh… Cater…" he said, clearly rather intimidated by the rather loud man.

He heard Fushi talk about where he’s from, hearing the name Takunaha, a place he’s unfamiliar with.

"Takunaha, huh… is that in Japan?" he asked.

"Oh, and uh, I’m from the US… California, actually," he said before turning to Cater and trying to include him, "Uh… where are you from?"

Nian paused, seeming genuinely concerned now as she stared at her own device, taking Marie's fears very seriously, as the realization quickly hit her... That these devices, though compact, and obviously multi-functional, definitely could have the means to detonate, in a way that would be lethal to the wearer. It made her all the more cautious, about why all of this was happening to begin with.

jFb0xP5.png

"You... Might be right. I can't take this thing apart easily, not without risking this thing blowing up prematurely... But, with a strong enough payload, the explosion could be lethal to anyone wearing this thing. Not sure what else it's capable. Besides giving us directions, acting kinda like a communications device or something." She seemed restless now... Uneasy, as she looked between Marie, then Kagerou...

Carefully flipping through her watch so she had the profile of each person still in the Cafeteria roughly memorized, she decided to let some others talk through their options, while she considered hers, and tried to help two others respectively in the process.

"... Boy...? Did you come here with someone else? Or-... ..." She paused, considering something, before she shook her head, deciding it was best not to say such strange thoughts out loud.

Just in case that caused her own device to explode.

"Tell you what? Whoever he is... Wherever he is right now... Until we run into them again... Think of me... As your emergency friend~. If you wanna that is." She said, a familiar, playful grin on her face.

But her voice took on this gentle, warm tone... As opposed to its previously dangerously mischievous one she had going throughout the leadup to what could have been a food fight.

There was a pause as her gaze turned to Kagerou, as she flashed a wink.

"By the way... Offer's not just for Marie. Anyone else who needs an 'emergency friend'... Can feel free to take me up on the offer. Juuust remember... I only got two haaaands..." The sing-songy tone lingered briefly, before she seemed to maintain a calm, patient posture as instead of trying to approach Marie, or Kagerou and drag themaway by force...

She decided to let them decide for themselves, if they wanted to follow her lead... Or at least, consider her as an 'emergency friend'.

Trying to make other friends, are we? Don't get too ahead of yourself.

She paused at that horribly familiar voice, before slowly realizing she must have imagined it. Was she still in the void? She quietly looked over at Nian.

"I... wouldn't oppose being friends."

As Power swung at the other woman, she intended to kill, but the lights fizzling out made her stop in her tracks. Confused and annoyed she let out a huff, the lights soon returning.

Becoming bored, she shrugged, before moving into the main hall, letting out a yawn as she debated her next location.

"Uh… where are you from?"

“Well I’ve never heard of Takunaha before. I’m from the Shaftlands, but I’m currently living at Night Raven College on Sage’s island. That’s all in my world, Twisted Wonderland.” Cater stumbled for a minute, attempting to figure out how to explain, before realizing there really wasn’t a way to do so and giving up. “I’m assuming you two have no clue what any of that means?”

All the running around made Cater’s hair begin to slip from his tight half ponytail. He began to pull the elastic out and redo his hair as he continued.

“So where are we headed again? I know we’re supposed to all go… somewhere. I want to meet back up with Marie, Rixia and Louise ASAP.”

Cater put the thought of going back for Marie out of his head. He was excited to get to the next location, since knew that going to the meeting point meant he would for sure see her and his other new friends again.

Proceed to the room labelled "Decontamination," just as their devices called watches (at least from what he heard from the others who were familiar with its concept) had instructed them. Simple and straight to the point. The puppet only wondered to himself if this was some sort of test from their captors, or nonsensical chores shoved onto them. Again, it looked like they were at the whims of whoever was sending these messages.

"Emergency friend?" He repeated Nian's dumb offer with a mocking voice, "Yeah no. Not in a million years. I'd rather be struck down by lightning than make friends with complete strangers."

He only bothered to say something rather than ignore, since he wanted to make it clear to that horned woman he wasn't all that interested. Of course he'll cooperate for survival's sake, but it wasn't going to get any further from that. In fact, he pretty much was tuning out all the other chatter that wasn't important to what they were currently dealing with right now. He cared extremely little about how some of these people somehow knew each other despite obviously hailing from different worlds entirely.

"So we're supposed to be looking into the room labelled 'Decontamination,' meaning we're to clean up someone else's mess," Kagerou adapted quickly to this wristbound device, using it to figure out where their destination on the map, "In case you can't read a map, it's directly straight ahead upon leaving this cafeteria."

Why was he even bothering to help out people who he just met not too long ago? Before any of them would say anything back to him, Kagerou didn't waste time on exiting the cafeteria without another word, pretty much wanting to get this over with.

"That's not what decontamination means." Makoto said, finally speaking. "It probably means we have some of foreign contaminant that our host wants to clean off."

gimon_bk.pngWell, that certainly wasn't what the blonde wanted to hear. Her eyes widened slightly at the allusion to the potential validity of her fears, and she anxiously re-extended her arm, turning her head away from the device once more in fear. Death and pain weren't anything foreign to her, of course; the gruesome decapitation scar that encapsulated her neck made that much quite clear. But things were different, now. The lonely French girl had a purpose. She had someone to serve and to protect. She couldn't let things end here, her connection to him seeming to have vanished entirely and her brain lacking any inkling of where he may have gone.

Though she was shaking and frightened, intimidated and alone, Nian and Louise's words did reach her. As scary as the notion of continuing speaking was, her demeanor shifted to something less statuesque upon the mention of the 'cards boy'. Eagerly, she nodded, lacking the sense to consider just why she felt such a strong urge to find him again. "Cater," she confirmed, almost longingly. Why did those syllables feel so unbearably familiar? The name he'd given prior felt strange on her tongue, but this felt as natural to her as je veux le sang. Something about that sensation drew her in like a moth to a flame. But, then, maybe it was possible that these others weren't so bad, either. Something about the gentle way these girls had spoken to her soothed her as well, and soon enough, she'd unconsciously relaxed her extended arm.

Even so. Some of these things were just hard for her to comprehend.

Specifically, she struggled to wrap her head around Nian's offer. "Emergency friend..?" What a strange suggestion. Typically, people were not inclined to show her kindness, let alone desire to be her friend. That trend seemed to be slowly changing since she'd met Ren, but she still didn't quite get it. Especially this 'emergency' part. "Um. Is the 'emergency' if this strange thing explodes?" she wondered, taking another nervous gander at her watch, "Would that make us friends?" Truth be told, she did like the idea of friendship. But if it was banking on an emergency explosion happening, she wasn't certain she wanted involved. Nevertheless, if the group was leaving, she appeared to have calmed enough to follow. Fortunately, even the snooty interjection from Kagerou didn't seem to disrupt that. In fact, when the petite blonde got a good look at him, a brief flicker of confusion crossed her face before her eyes actually seemed to soften. The faintest ghost of a smile tugged at the corner of her lips.

"...Hehe." Though the odd nature of his vessel was difficult for her to comprehend, the contrast between his harsh words and the core of his being reminded her of someone. Although, Leonhart had the benefit of her own true body. "You have a gentle soul beneath all that, don't you?" Something about Kagerou made it difficult for her to determine just what he was, or if his spirit was truly whole. Honestly, he almost reminded her of herself in that regard. But either way, his cruelty hardly seemed genuine in nature to her. Not that she hadn't been wrong with her speculations on character before. Actually, she wasn't really great with 'reading' in general, so the boy's brash declaration was actually kind of helpful.

"Decontamination." Kagerou and the strange girl with the short hair each seemed to have their own takes on the matter, but Marie's mind went elsewhere. "Decontamination..." She had definitely heard that word before, though she thought the syllables sounded a bit different than she recalled. Tentatively, her hand raised to her neck, gently brushing against her scar with a pensive air about her. "Isn't that... to lose your head?"

"…"

He wasn’t even gonna question why he’s in a lab with so many magicians.

"W-well… nice to meet you… uh… Cater…" he said, clearly rather intimidated by the rather loud man.

He heard Fushi talk about where he’s from, hearing the name Takunaha, a place he’s unfamiliar with.

"Takunaha, huh… is that in Japan?" he asked.

"Oh, and uh, I’m from the US… California, actually," he said before turning to Cater and trying to include him, "Uh… where are you from?"

"Haven't heard of California. Or Japan for that matter." Fushi responded, before Cater introduced himself and where he was from, asking both Fushi and Cove if they had any clue what he was talking about.

"Nope, not at all." The immortal answered honestly. This whole 'my world' thing Cater mentioned didn't make much sense to Fushi either.

"We're supposed to go to the center room, but we have to head to decontamination first?" Fushi relayed.

Admittedly he didn't know what decontamination meant, but he supposed he'd find out.

"She was with, um - the deck of cards boy. Cay-kun, Cater. Yeah. Him." She took a step back from Marie, giving her space. Louise wasn't sure why, but she felt, somehow, that she had failed.

Deciding Nico wasn't worth it she dissipated the hammer. Now eyeing her wrist, a small watch tightly attached to it. The strap had cat faces on it, and the face of the watch was pink. Instinctively- she bit the electronic, the device beeping as her teeth hit the buttons. Becoming bored, she shrugged, before moving into the main hall, letting out a yawn as she debated her next location.

"Aww man! Well, two out of three's not a bad ratio~!" Nian said, chucking a little towards Kagerou.

Though just as she was about to lunge towards him to try and grab him, Marie's comment about how the 'emergency' part of the friendship worked caused her to laugh.

"Aaahahahaha! Now that's funny! But... Don't you worry. The 'emergency' part doesn't have to involve exploding or something. You were missing a friend, right? So I thought I'd act as his placeholder for now, until you find him. Buuut if you wanted to keep being friends, even after that? I'm game! Only thing I ask... Is that, being friends and all... To remember me."
There was a pause now, as she seemed to notice how Marie seemed to... Pick up on Kagerou's soft side, despite her little misunderstanding of what 'decontamination' was and grinned a little.

"Well... He wouldn't be the first to be real sweet on the inside, despite how he looks. Dusk's kinda like that too. Just... Maybe not so aggressive." She giggled a little, before she shook her head.

"... Think of 'decontamination' like a very thorough bath. And speaking of which... I figure we could all use one."

There was a pause as she grabbed Kagerou by the arm as she moved to start trying to drag him along, motioning to the others.

"Alright! We'll talk more on the way... Maybe even in decontamination! I'll make more hotpot as a reward, soon as I can~...!"

She flashed a wink towards Power as she passed her by... As if uncaring, or... Embracing the chaos that might bring...

The woman readied herself and followed after, pausing at the door to make sure the others came with too. Safety in numbers - she wasn't sure what this place was about, but she was used to drama, to people dying in front of her, even if it was make believe.

Aww, aren't you scared? Sad you didn't even see Damien the one last time? He was crying for you as his neck broke-

She closed her eyes for a moment, trying to calm herself down. She wasn't in the void. She could talk, and there were other people, and she was fine. No Mark anywhere. Not at all.

"Did I ask?" The wanderer shot an annoyed look at the newcomer. He really hated those "know-it-all" types, given he had his fair share of those from the Sumeru region alone. It still remains clear that they needed to do something at Decontamination for their captors, so he didn't care too much about being correct on some details.

That timid girl, on the other hand, spoke about him like he were some sort of gentle soul. Gods, she might as well be just like that Traveler, or even... He stopped that train of thought, there wasn't any use in thinking about his past when he was supposed to be moving on with his life. Not wanting to prove Marie right in this case, he kept himself from turning towards her general direction and using his hat to hide his face.

"You couldn't be further away from the truth. Like I said, we're strangers. You don't know me. End of story." Kagerou coldly denied the concept of him, the divine atrocity, being a gentle soul. "And besides, we have probably more pressing matters than to make friends. I'm not opposed to collaborating for survival, but that's all I'm willing to get myself involved in."

Clarifying his point, the puppet continued on his exit out of the cafeteria. Well, until that Nian had unceremoniously grabbed a hold of his arm and started dragging him around like some ragdoll.

"What the- Do you have a death wish? Huh?! You'll regret this if you don't unhand me now!" Kagerou exclaims angrily, shooting a glare at the horned woman. A brief wind gust blew right past Nian, but it was only a gust of wind that was conjured up by the wanderer's tantrum. Given by how he was talking all cold and tough earlier, this was probably a complete 180 from that.

"Quite right, Miss... Ultimate Class Leader, was it? I don't believe that you've elected to interact much. But yes, judging by the message blasted out when I tried to access the lab, it looks like our host has decided us to be in need of sanitation."

"A-Are mermaids real where you come from?"

"Oh, yes." she casually interjected, as if it was one of the most normal things ever. "They mainly stay near their home due to slavers prowling the nearby archipelago, but they do show up atop the surface every now and then." Her daily job of blowing Cove's mind complete, she returned her focus to Makoto.

"Is there anything you need, Miss Class Leader?"

Decontamination Room

Like the cafeteria door, the door to this room slid open cleanly when anyone approached. It was not the biggest room, comprised of sleek metal walls and fitted with shower stalls that ran along the side of the room opposite the door. They were partitioned from the rest of the room via metal doors with small windows. The main part of the room had nozzles lined along the walls, with ventilation grates set into the floor and ceiling.

Upon anyone entering the room, the door would lock behind them and the nozzles would billow out some kind of medical-smelling air. It vented out after just a moment and the door unlocked. It only took one person to be "decontaminated" for the door to unlock again.

Base number of decontaminations reached. Laboratory doors are now opening. Proceed through Medical Center.

Medical Center

The Medical Center featured the same boring white walls as most of the facility and was filled to the brim with various medical supplies and equipment. In the center of the room was a metal slab where one could perform operations if necessary.

Clementine was one of the first in the room, quickly taking stop of the various supplies they had. While she was not necessarily a medical expert, she was able to ascertain the sheer amount of supplies available. "You could treat just about everything," she said quietly, her eyes staring wide at a whole closet filled with common over-the-counter medicines.

The Medical Center, along with the four labs that surrounded the "center room" were connected to each other via a small walkway that worked similarly to the Decontamination Room. Small blasts of air shot out whenever someone left the Medical Center to walk to the other labs. The center room was connected via these walkways, where one could take a turn to reach the door. The five rooms and walkways made up a square with a plus in the middle, all-in-all.

As of right now, the walkways were locked on the exits from the Medical Center leading to the Electrical Room and Organic Study. One could only reach the so-called center room, which only appeared to be a blank, featureless room at the moment.

Everyone must be within the room for things to proceed!!┏ʕ •ᴥ•ʔ┛

Jester started to impatiently tap her foot before looking at the gathered people so far before she ran to the entrance and shouted into the corridor. "You guys got to hurry up! Nothing's going to happen if you're not all inside!" Was it because Jester wanted to get to the bottom of this mystery, or was she just impatient?

Who can say.

Then she turned around as she heard Clementine's remark. "Pfft! You don't need any of that! I could just as easily heal anything and everything with my cool cleric powers. Cause that's what I am." She'd skip her way towards Clementine and handed out her hand for a shake. "My name's Jester, what's yours? I could probably look at the thing on my wrist, but that feels like cheating, you know?"

At learning that decontamination meant cleaning based in the way Cove spoke, Fushi subtly sniffed at his arm. Did he need a bath? He didn't seem dirty.

He did pick up the very very faint scent of iron though. Maybe from when he was imprisoned before waking up here?

When Cove asked about mermaids, Fushi lifted his head.

"I don't know what that is." He simply stated.

Fushi wasn't sure he liked the smell of the decontamination room. Though when he entered the medical center, he found himself drawn to the supplies where Clementine and Jester were, looking at all of the stuff stocked and not completely paying attention to the other two. None of the names were familiar at all, but he couldn't help but be reminded of an old friend of his when it came to medicine.

"Sandel would've been interested in all of this." He idly commented, a hint of sadness in his voice.
